And so yesterday night, after ordering a pizza, I sat down and re-watched a movie variously known as Captain Clegg or as Night Creatures, a 1962 Hammer movie featuring Peter Cushing and Oliver Reed. And if Cushing and Reed aren’t reason enough to watch a movie, well, sue me.

AU reference sheets

I figured that I’d make a little post giving some explanations of my two AU’s that I post stuff about so people that are newer to my blog/haven’t read the fics have a better idea what they’re all about! Enjoy!

Note: Mer!AU explanation contains major spoilers for Captain Clegg/Night Creatures and The Devil-Ship Pirates.

Swap!AU

Premise: Vancula but their species are swapped! Dracula’s human in this universe, while Van Helsing became a vampire. Going with Lawrence van Helsing here since the AU takes place during the end of the 19th century.

The story is that one night, Lawrence comes knocking at the doors of Castle Dracula requesting shelter. Dracula lets him in reluctantly at first, but they soon grow closer. Dracula cannot help but notice that there is something odd about his guest after a while, though…

Mer!AU

Premise: Originally I just really liked the idea of a merman Cushing saving a sailor Lee and that idea resulted in this Captain Clegg/Devil-ship Pirates crossover AU in which Blyss/Clegg became a merman after his death and saved Robeles (his first name’s Miguel in this) from dying at the end of the film (am I coping with the fact that I really loved both these characters and was super sad to see them die? Mayyyyyyyybe.) Story for this one is still being developed!
