“I hope she’s happy” pt 7
Tumblr media
Genre: Exes!AU
Pairing: Park Seo Joon x You
Prompt: “I hope she’s happy”
Chapters: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7
Chapter 7
Y/N POV
“That’s the stuff,” you sighed as you stepped out of the bathtub.
After doing your skincare, you took your phone and read Seo Joon’s message.
Seo Joon: Hey Y/N.. If you don’t mind, do you want to go out for coffee tomorrow? That is if you don’t have anything planned for tomorrow.
You gasped at the sight of it. You blinked twice to make sure you weren’t seeing things. “Did he just ask me out?”, you said in disbelief.
With your heart beating faster and faster as the seconds go by, you replied, “Yeah sure. I don’t have any plans yet. Hold on, don’t you have any schedule tomorrow?”.
Almost immediately, Seo Joon replied.
Seo Joon: I’m on a short break from filming tomorrow, remember?
Y/N: Oh right.  Seo Joon: So are you up for it?
(The Next Day)
Who would’ve thought you would be traveling to this very cafe again. It was one you used to frequent with him back in the day, when you guys wanted a nice cafe date without being recognised by other patrons or passers by. Walking up the stairs to the entrance of the cafe brought about a bittersweet feeling in your pit.
Entering the cafe, your eyes scanned the room for a good spot. While doing so, your eyes laid on a familiar silhouette, sitting by the glass window that was graced by an immaculate view of hanoks from above. As if on cue, Seo Joon lifted up his gaze and smiled at you. That act alone, made your heart do a somersault.
“Hi. It’s been a while..”, was what you said with a soft smile when you reached your destined spot.
“Yes. It’s been a while.. Hope you don’t mind that I went ahead and got you your usual,” he said, as you took a seat on the chair beside him. On the table in front of you was a cup of your favorite Iced Flat White along with his Mocha.
“Thanks..”, you muttered before you took a sip of it.
Seo Joon: Isn’t it amazing that it still tastes the same? The Mocha still tastes like how it was back then.
Y/N: Yeah. Still good.
Seo Joon: So.. How have you been?
You cleared your throat and said, “It’s been great. Like what I said yesterday, I’ve been busy at work. Life’s great. You?”
Seo Joon: Yup. Whatever I said yesterday..
Not knowing what to say next, an awkward silence occurred. But within seconds, Seo Joon started laughing.
Seo Joon: I’m sorry. I know it’s very abrupt for us to meet again after so long. Hope it’s not weird..
Y/N: I must say, it feels weird to be back here again.. with you.. drinking the same drinks we used to drink.
Seo Joon: Yeah.. I missed this.
You glanced over to Seo Joon. His eyes were fixed on the cuppa that he was stirring, a trait of his that he does whenever he’s nervous.
“Are you seeing someone at the moment?”, asked Seo Joon as he lifted his head up to look at you.
“I.. I’m not. I haven’t got the time for that,” you stated matter of factly. Honestly, at this point in time, you weren’t sure if that was the whole truth. Were you really too busy for someone special, or were you still carrying a torch for him?
Seo Joon: Oh.. That’s a shame..
Y/N: Yeah.. Ever since the promotion, I have barely got the time to breathe, let alone go out on dates. Ha Yoon can vouch for that. She has been whining about me not spending enough time with her ever since.
You chuckled.
Seo Joon: Oh I remember Ha Yoon. How is she? Is she still that energetic and cheery?
Y/N: Yeah. Still the same old her.
Yet another moment of silence occurred as the two of you gazed out to the scenery before you.
Y/N: How about you? Are you seeing anyone?
Seo Joon took a deep breath and said, “Not at the moment. I had lots on my mind and on my plate..”
Not knowing what else to say, you sat there quietly with your drink in your hand.
Seo Joon: You know what. I’ll just cut to the chase. I’ve been thinking about you lately Y/N..
You brought your hands down onto your lap and looked over at him in silence.
Seo Joon: In fact, it’s not just lately. I never stopped thinking about you, thinking about us.. I know I’m a coward for not reaching out to you earlier. I was afraid you wouldn’t want to see me. Afraid of your rejection..
Y/N: Then.. Why now?
Seo Joon: I don’t know..
You were about to say something when Seo Joon spoke again.
Seo Joon: I know it’s impossible for us to go back to how we used to be in the past. But I missed you so much Y/N.. I miss having you in my life. I miss coming home to your embrace after a long day. I miss everything..
He moved forward and placed a hand over your outstretched hand.
Seo Joon: I know you said you don’t have the time to date, let alone have a significant other in your life.. But could you give us a second chance? I know this is very sudden and a lot to ask for.. You don’t have to answer me right away..
Y/N: Seo Joon.. I..
At that moment, your phone buzzed. You mouthed a quick ‘sorry’ in his direction as you slipped your hand away from his and went away to pick up the phone.
Ha Yoon: Hey Y/N! Where are you now? I’m near your place. Do you want to have dinner together?
Y/N: I’m out you idiot! Didn’t I tell you I had a date?
Ha Yoon: Oh sh*t! With Seo Joon? How is it? Am I disturbing? I’m sorry for disturbing you! You should go.
Y/N: No no no!! You called just in time.
Ha Yoon: What? Why?
“No time to explain. He’s looking over in my direction now. I’ll call you back in a sec!”, and with that you ended the call.
“I’m sorry,” you said as you picked up your bag from the chair in a hurry. “I’ve got to run. Something came up at work and I need to head back to the office,” you lied.
“Oh.. Can I offer you a ride to your office?”, he asked.
“No, it’s okay. I called a cab and it will be here soon. Thanks for the coffee,” you said as you ran out of the cafe before giving him a weak smile.

is gyeongseong creature worth the watch? i see a lot of people talk about it on my dash but im still a bit hesitant to watch it
Omg hello bloomingqwarrior! Okay so I just finished ep 9 and I definitely recommend! Now, some info that I feel may be helpful to know about my rec:
-I am a big fan of Han So-Hee from My Name so I will literally watch her eat cold oatmeal and therefore I am biased toward any action series with her
-I personally find the main characters to have a lot of chemistry. I've heard that others don't find that to be the case. For me, I think the chemistry is just different than other kdramas. Because the characters are both caretakers and living in a very hellish period in Korean history, I find that they're kind of quiet love built on respect and protectiveness to be v believable and v wonderful to watch
-There is a cgi monster (you get a hint to that in the trailer). I found it to be believable enough but I know some didn't like the look of it *shrugs*
-I've also heard that people thought it wasn't horror enough. I agree it wasn't a traditional horror movie but I think it was plenty scary and, more importantly, there is plenty in the show that is horrifying
-My biggest rec for the show is that it works phenomenally with the themes of colonization and oppression. The show is set during the Japanese occupation of Korea and the show absolutely focuses on the horror, violence, and evil inflicted upon the Korean people. Although it is fiction, the acts of human experimentation, torture, and cruelty are drawn from real history. It does not shy around to discuss Korean liberation and criticize the japanese occupation (Han So Hee and Park Seo-Joon are reportedly expecting to be banned from Japan due to their roles in this show due to showcasing the often horrible nature of the occupation).
One note, a very important aspect of the show is the switch characters make between speaking korean and japanese. Netflix english subtitles do not indicate when they are speaking each language. I was able to distinguish mostly between the languages just from watching lots of japanese and korean language shows though I don't speak either, but if you cannot def recommend trying to find a version with better subtitles lol
If you watch it please let me know!!! So few people I know have seen it and I wanna talkkkkkk

The Chaos was Him.

PARK SEO JOON BREAKS THE INTERNET - AGAIN.
Actor commented on Y/N Y/L/N’s photo and made everyone go crazy for a couple of hours
That Park Seo Joon is up and about giving us all a heart attack with his beautiful smile and amazing soul is the understatement of the year. The 30-year-old handsome actor is known to take everyone’s breath away with his wholehearted performances. In any drama or movie, you can bet. I mean, who hasn’t thought about him ever since She was Pretty? He made sure to stay constantly in our minds - and hearts.
Park Seo Joon is known for being openly active on social media, with his fun posts and stories on Instagram. However, fans had something to freak out about last weekend, as Sunday the actor liked and commented on a recent photo of model Y/N Y/L/N, to the despair of the fangirls.
Hundred of thousands of replies have been recorded and when asked about it, Park laughed it off. “She really is gorgeous. I’m not going to deny that.” (See video below)
Of course, there was nothing from the 26-year-old model, but there are theories going on about it on the internet, theories that have left this journalist open-mouthed. But would Y/N be having anything with the actor or is it just a long shot in the dark?
There hasn’t been anything about the two of them meeting in real life and while Park Seo Joon is always out and about, the same can’t be said about the model, who likes to keep her privacy and is often seen with another hot-shot, the singer Jeong Jaehyun, although neither of them has confirmed any kind of relationship between them and both say they’re only friends.
Whether or not this was just Park being a normal guy and complimenting a girl, we can’t stop thinking about how cute of a couple those two would make! We even managed to manip our new favorite ship! (See below)
~*~
Y/N stared at the screen of her phone for a few more moments before cracking up. She couldn’t believe her life had led her to this moment, one she would be featured in teenager magazines and shipped with an actor she had never met. Of course, she knew who he was, she had watched his movies and dramas and she had to admit that he was all that everyone was saying. But had she met him? No, of course not.
Her notifications on Instagram had been blowing up for the past 48 hours, making the girl mute the app and ignore all kinds of messages she had been receiving. It was a good idea, no drama, no fans throwing insults at her (something that would happen, she was sure of it), no fans asking things she couldn’t answer, no gossip magazines mentioning her on Twitter… Nothing. It was just Y/N, the bed she had been on, Netflix, and some good company. That is until she got a call from her best friend begging her to read that article.
Hana had been in her life for as long as she could remember, her best friend ever since they were little girls playing in the sandbox. They might have taken completely different paths in life, but they were always by each other’s side whenever it was needed.
Y/N was willing to read the article because it was Hana who wrote it. She would trust her best friend with everything in her life, even gossips the media wanted to spread.
The fact that Hana had been chosen to write something about her life was completely amusing. Sometimes, Y/N wondered if her best friend had told her boss they were best friends and that was why, but the truth is that Y/N knew, for a fact, that Hana had kept her mouth closed when it came to being friends with someone as famous as Y/N and it could only be the most ridiculous coincidence in the world. No one had ever suspected anything.
With a small smile, Y/N closed the e-mail her friend had sent her and shook her head. As always, Hana had written something so close to the truth without saying anything that she couldn’t believe the way her friend had with words. She had no other way than to say it was perfect and she wouldn’t change a thing.
From: Y/N
To: Hana
You know, one of these days they’ll get suspicious as to how you know so much about my life.
From: Hana
To: Y/N
I’ll just tell them I stan you. I’m an obsessive fangirl. But how is it?
From: Y/N
To: Hana
You know it’s perfect. Now stop freaking out, cause I know you are!
From: Hana
To: Y/N
This could very well be my ship!
From: Y/N
To: Hana
You are aware that I have never met him, right?
From: Hana
To: Y/N
Oh, sweetie… God works in mysterious ways.
Y/N couldn’t believe what she was reading. There were times she worried about Hana living for far too long in her teenage years with all the young celebrities she had to be in touch with for her job - and for her own pleasure too. Of course, you never know what the future holds, but there was no way Y/N would ever be with Park Seo Joon. She was perfectly fine the way she was, with who she was. Even if she didn’t have anyone, exactly, at the time.
Her life was great the way it was and adding drama to it, as the comments had made sure to confirm her worries, was nothing but a waste of time.
Hana sent her just a thumb up as a reply, something Y/N knew that meant she had posted the article and Y/N couldn’t wait to see what else would be said about her after that.
With a devious smile on her face, the girl opened her Instagram for the first time that week and clicked on her most recent photo, the comment Seo Joon had left being the first one. And then she clicked on the heart next to it without a second thought.
Instantly, her phone blew up with at least five messages from her best friend.
From: Hana
To: Y/N
You bitch!
I can’t believe you just did that
I’m gonna fucking kill you, Y/L/N
Couldn’t you have done it before I posted it?
I hate you so much!
From: Y/N
To: Hana
I just gave you another story to write. You should love me!
From: Hana
To: Y/N
🖕
The laugh that erupted from Y/N was loud and genuine. She loved messing with her best friend to the point of making her professional life a living hell sometimes.
“What’s so funny?” a raspy voice called her out, her laughter slowly dying out as she stared ahead, the once empty room now giving sight to something she quite enjoyed.
There was a reason Y/N liked to keep her life private; There was a reason she found no trouble at all in setting all her apps on mute and that reason was standing right in front of her. His wet jet-black hair dripping into the floor and slowly tracing down his handsome face, leading down past his shoulders, glistening in the fluorescent light against his chest, one she had so many times run her hands over. The marks of her nails still painting in a soft red on the pale skin, dying down on the white towel poorly secured around his waist.
Y/N followed all of it in complete silence, her eyes never daring to move from the man standing in the doorway of the bathroom, his dark brown eyes focused on her shallow breaths, the way her chest seemed to rise and fall in the bra she was wearing, the only piece of clothing her upper body was sporting.
Her eyes had turned into a darker shade, something he could see from where he was, something he enjoyed a little too much. Her long legs, hidden under the white thick duvet, squirmed under his intense stare, her insides churning in excitement as she watched his hungry eyes roam all over her.
Jaehyun had known Y/N for a good three years. They had been introduced in a party Johnny had thrown and hit it off immediately. At the time, both of them had completely different lives, both of them dated and there was nothing more than genuine friendship. They were both easy people to talk to, had pretty much the same interests. And even though they had super busy schedules, it was always easy to talk through messages and phone calls.
It all started to change, though, when both of their relationships went down the drain and what once was an innocent friendship saw there the chance to change into something else.
There was no name to what they had, they hadn’t talked about it. A whole year had gone without it being fully addressed, but it wasn’t just a friends with benefits thing and they both knew it.
It was something else, something, as much as they liked to deny, with deeper feelings involved. It wasn’t easy to simply hide it from everyone. They had to be cautious, they couldn’t let people out of their friends' circle get suspicious, they couldn’t let anyone notice how much they meant to each other.
It was easier that way, less dramatic, and more personal. Something they would only share with people they were comfortable with. And yet they weren’t anything official.
There was something dreadful in being in a committed relationship when they had started whatever they had. The ghosts of their pasts still lingering over them, so it was only natural to take things as they came, to move around it and see where it was going to lead them. But maybe neither of them had thought it would last this long without coming to a real thing.
They had grown used to how they worked and thought that there was nothing to be talked about.
“It’s just Hana,” she shrugged it off, her brain finally snapping out of her thoughts.
There was something she would never be able to do when standing anywhere near that man, and it was stop fantasizing about him. He was like her own kind of Greek god, the personification of a sacred deity thrown into this Earth to be of her delight. There could be a thousand lifetimes and there weren’t going to be one of them that she didn’t find him handsome, no matter what. He just caused that kind of feelings in her.
“Oh,” he muttered, his body leaning off the wood, his soft steps echoing through the floor as he made his way to the girl. “I thought we were supposed to pretend we were stranded in a deserted island,” he smirked, his eyes ravishing over her exposed chest, taking every inch of her skin in, his tongue darting out of his mouth to run over his smooth lips.
“You were taking a little too long on that shower,” Y/N murmured, her eyes wide open as she watched the man walking up to her, her hands twitching in excitement to run over his torso and add a few more scratch marks to it.
The hunger in his eyes was like fuel to her, burning too bright and hot that she felt it in her core, his breath fanning over her face, now too close to her and yet too far. He was towering over the girl, his body hovering hers, not touching an inch of it, much to her dismay.
“I had to keep myself entertained,” she breathed out, her lips brushing against his in a feeble attempt of toying with him, baiting him in her mercy; he didn’t buy it. Jaehyun knew her way too well.
“I’m sure you could have thought of better ways to do it,” he mumbled, his hand slowly tracing the curve of her neck, intertwining in her hair softly, caressing her while still running his tongue over his lips, watching as she tried to keep her eyes on his, but failing to unfocus from his mouth. “I’m sure you could’ve just…” he started once again, his hand now retreating from the hair and sliding down her arms, softly and slowly, the touch leaving goosebumps in its wake as his breath fanned down on her, her eyes now shut in anticipation. “You could’ve just joined me.”
Jaehyun left no time for a reply, it was never his intention.
Without a single second to spare, his lips crashed down on hers, roughly and hungry, their breaths mingling and panting, the only sound in the bedroom aside from the occasional smacks of their lips.
Jaehyun’s hands couldn’t find a home, traveling from her arms to her waist, pulling her closer to him, feeling her chest flush against his, her warmth spreading through him as a safety blanket, her legs freeing from the confines of the duvet before closing around him at the same time his hands reached her back, his fingers carefully running down her spine. The touch was so gentle she couldn’t help but moan at the feeling it caused, her back arching off the bed and into him, her mouth opening in the shape of an O.
Jaehyun took it as his advantage, sliding his tongue into her mouth in a wet kiss, exploring every corner of her mouth, massaging her own tongue before fighting for dominance over the kiss, which she surrendered to him.
Y/N kissed him in abandonment as if leaving her whole life to him, giving him everything she had, everything she would ever have.
She clutched to his neck fiercer, fingers slipping into his hair and pulling at the roots with wanton, desperately trying to draw a moan out of him, with success.
He could never get enough of that woman and she knew exactly what to do to get him going, but if he was to ever make it to their appointment, he would have to put an end to it and soon. Jaehyun could feel himself coming up with excuses to his friends as to why he didn’t show up to their party already.
Gasping out for air, Jaehyun broke their connection, his nose running along her cheeks to her shoulders, leaving open-mouthed kisses on her collarbone, his mind reminding him of not leaving any visible mark on her skin before, finally, sucking in the skin on her chest, right above her breast, a small gasp coming out of her throat, her eyes still closed as she bit her lips together in pleasure.
“You should get ready,” Jaehyun murmured against her skin, his lips still taunting her endlessly.
“Can’t we just… Skip it?” Her voice sounded so broken for having to leave at that exact moment. She just wanted to spend the rest of the evening lying on that bed at his mercy. The real world could suck sometimes.
“Again?” Jaehyun chuckled, his face now in front of hers. “Didn’t we just skip your friend’s party yesterday?”
“And look at how much more fun we had,” she bargained, her brown eyes dark in want as she stared at him.
Jeong Jaehyun had the power of making her turn into putty by only being in the room and he knew it.
The singer smiled down at the girl, pressed a lingering kiss to her lips and pulled away before she could get too carried away.
“Go get ready, beautiful,” he laughed walking away.
“Tease!”
~*~
Contrary to his belief, they actually left home and just in time to miss the rush hour, something both of them were glad. Although it was a fairly quick ride from Seocho-gu to Itaewon, you never know how much time you would lose stuck in trafic.
It was one thing when you didn’t have much to do, but when you had a party, even if a small gathering, the anxiety of being in the same place for too long would be too much.
Y/N sat in the passenger seat, enjoying the view of the city flashing past them as the car headed towards the center of the city, a low song playing on the radio, keeping the atmosphere in the vehicle serene and light. Golden specks of light entered through the windshield, the last rays of sunshine of the day illuminating their skin in a golden tone, Jaehyun’s eyes hidden by his black ray-ban focusing on the road ahead.
She took the time to admire it all, the way his hands held the steering-wheel expertly, sliding across it every now and then, the same hands she loved running around her body, the same hands she loved to just hold and have it clasped around hers.
The sunlight kissed his skin almost adoringly, highlighting his cheekbones and adding a new color to the speck of tones she had seen his face turn into. Y/N knew that if Jaehyun were to take off his glasses at that moment, his eyes wouldn’t be the same dark brown color they always were; they would have turned into a melted chocolate-color, like someone had melted the delicacy and poured into his irises. It was mesmerizing and breathtaking, worth of losing herself into them. And she had, so many times it was beyond her comprehension, but she didn’t mind one bit.
Y/N reached her hands over the handbrake, her palm turned up in an obvious sign of telling Jaehyun something. His right hand let go of the steering-wheel, intertwining on hers without a second thought, his face turning to her side with a smile plastered on his lips, the devotion his eyes held hidden by the dark shades he had on.
It was at times like these that the singer felt like he had everything he could have asked for. Everything felt right, even if it didn’t seem like it.
There was something about the way their hands seemed to fit effortlessly, how they always had been thinking the same thing before speaking it, how they seemed to be in the exact same place when it came to their lives.
It was uncanny that they should be together. Everyone had said so, from his friends to his family, always bugging him about it, saying that he had to properly ask her to be his girlfriend. A girl like that wasn’t easy to find, that’s what his dad said whenever they visited.
But it wasn’t so simple. They had been ‘together’ for so long that he just couldn’t see the right way or the right time to do it. They had fallen into a pattern that their relationship was real and official, even if unspoken, even if hidden from the world.  Saying something just felt like doubting everything they had ever had.
“Have I ever told you how much I like it when you bring me to meet your friends?” Her voice disrupted his track of thought, bringing him back into reality and to the car.
His hand was still wrapped around hers as he drove down the road, the sun barely visible in the horizon. She had perked up in her seat, something Y/N always seemed to do when she wanted to share some kind of secret. It was endearing watching her whole self light up at the idea of telling someone something she deemed intimate.
“You do?” His eyes went back to hers, watching the excitement take over her features, her eyes brightening as she looked back at him in innocence, her head tilted to the side as if she couldn’t believe he was asking her that.
“Of course I do!” She hooted. “What’s not to like? They are all always so welcoming and fun to be around. They bring some other side of you too, I guess. You seem more relaxed, more natural and... More you. Something I only get to see when you’re not on the spotlight.” Y/N proposed, her fingers snapping up as she listed everything she had said. “Not to mention the fact that they’re super funny and make everything feel safe. It makes me feel like everything is so normal.”
Jaehyun smiled. He understood everything she was saying and couldn’t help but agree. It seemed like they were in a safe environment every time they were with them, the world could fall apart and yet they would remain one.
It seemed strange that a group of people could hold such importance to them, but it made sense to him. With his friends, it was a few of the moments that he could be himself, without any pressure. It was like going home every time he needed to go back.
The fact that Y/N felt the same way meant something to him. He didn’t know what yet, but it had something to do with the fact that his chest would feel warm sharing with her all the memories he had made and were to make with them.
It didn’t mind what it was or how silly it seemed to anyone else. She would listen to him intently and appreciate the fact that he felt like he could share it with her, could trust on her with bits of him that weren’t on full display. And she loved it. She loved listening to him talking, she loved picturing his younger version doing all the things coming out of his mouth. Maybe that was why she loved those counted getaways with him and his group of friends.

So I have like zero followers, but I wanted to vent somewhere, so here we are. I finally found some kdramas I am not a fan of after binging during quarantine these last two years (I’m chronically ill so I have a lot of free time). For the most part I’ve really enjoyed the majority I’ve watched, and have already re-watched a handful bc I enjoyed them so much and it’s digital hangs with my bestie. But I absolutely hated Itaewon Class, You Are My Spring, and Hometown Cha Cha Cha. I’ve been seeing IC and HTCCC on a lot of recommendation posts, and I wanted to see what other people thought about these things I noticed and disliked about the shows.
You Are My Spring, I simply could not finish and did not care to. The trailer was very misleading (I’ve actually gotten used to this with Netflix kdramas), and it ended up being a plot that felt off some how... I stopped after about five episodes since I just wasn’t feeling it. So I guess my gripe with this isn’t the same as the other two which had to do with the relationship dynamics.
I loved Park Seo-Joon in Whats Wrong With Secretary Kim (and I look forward to him being in the next Captain Marvel movie), but the writing for Itaewon Class was frustrating. Yes I liked the lead character and some of the side ones, and it was good to finally see a trans character in a kdrama (though it would have been even better if the character was played by a trans actor. Progress is progress, and I’m glad to see more representation in kdramas.). But I was not okay with how creepy Yi-Seo was towards Sae-royi. If it had been the other way where the dude was adamant and saying “I love you” and forcing physical affection on the woman even after the female character had said no multiple times over multiple years and drawn clear boundaries, people would be screaming how creepy the dude was. So yeah, that made me uncomfortable they ended up together since it was not healthy at all, and he deserved better after having such a hard life (honestly the second female lead was not much better. He should have ended up with someone else altogether. 🤷🏻♀️).
Hometown Cha Cha Cha was one where I got really bad second lead syndrome. It broke my heart how the dude loved her so much and the timing just wasn’t in his favor, both in college and again in later adulthood. But he actually seemed to care about Hye Jin unlike Do Sik (in the start anyway). Lastly Hye Jin beating poor Do Sik any time a town person came near them when they were trying to hide their relationship was extremely effed up. Her head butting him and actually making him bleed was not cute at all, and abuse needs to be called out when we see it. That was not a healthy start to a relationship, or healthy in any relationship. But uh yeah. If you prefer shows with healthy romantic relationships… skip this one.
Anyway I definitely will not be watching those three again, and felt like warning people looking for kdrama recs. I guess for reference I should say my top five are: 1) Vincenzo (the writing in this show was so good). 2) Hotel Del Luna (hoo boy the heartbreak in that one hit hard). 3) Sweet Home. 4) Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo. 5) King Eternal Monarch (simply for the fact that it was refreshing to see a fresh science fiction story when so many things in America media are being rehashed and recycled). That list isn’t necessarily in order tho, and I honestly have more favs than just those. Runner ups include: All of Us Are Dead, When the Camelia Blooms, Mystic Popup Bar, and Shopaholic Louis.

Week 1:  Understanding Korean History
To say I was excited to join the first session of the KPA was an understatement - I had my notebook, coffee and highlighters at the ready like a nerdy highschooler on her first day at school (yes, I was that girl). After a round of introductions from fellow KPA-ers, we kicked off Week 1 with an in-depth lecture from Dr Anders Karlsson (Senior Lecturer in Korean at SOAS, University of London) who took us on a whistle-stop tour through Korea’s illustrious history.
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I find ancient history a bit…inaccessible (*ahem* boring). So I thought I’d combine this week’s homework of presenting a (very) brief outline of ancient Korean history with a passion of mine: K-dramas, specifically that of historical Korean dramas or sageuk (사극). Maybe it’s the sumptuous costumes, the swashbuckling sword fights and horse riding scenes, or just my overly-romantic notion of the past, but it’s a genre that I’ve consistently been drawn to.
Prehistoric Korean history Dr Karlsson mentioned that most records of Korea’s early history have been destroyed, making it difficult to pinpoint when exactly these early civilisations came to be. However, it has been noted that even all the way back in 2000 BC, rice cultivation was already well-established around the Korean peninsula. The Bronze Age came to the tribes in the area at around 700 BCE and then, around 300 BCE they moved into the Iron Age, as noted in Chinese records for the first time.
Tumblr media
Dramas set in this era are extremely uncommon - and probably for good reason. In fact, the only one I know of is Arthdal Chronicles starring Song Joong-ki which turned out to be…a bit of a train wreck. It’s supposed to be a fantasy drama (think Korean ‘Game of Thrones’) that happens during the Bronze Age and is ‘loosely based’ on the creation story of Dangun, the son of a heavenly prince and a bear-woman. Legend has it he goes on to build and rule the kingdom of Gojoseon (‘old Joseon’) in 2333 BCE, but Dr Karlsson points out those timings don’t seem to add up with historical records.
Three Kingdoms Period (57 BC - 668 AD) Around this period, the Korean peninsula was mostly dominated by tribes but by 57 BC, the kingdom of Kingdom of Silla emerged, followed by the founding of Goguryeo in 37 BC by Jumong (there’s an old but much-loved drama by the same name) and finally with the founding of Baekje in 18 AD by Jumong’s wife and her sons. These three kingdoms were heavily influenced by Chinese civilisation, especially with the spread of Confucianist thought and Buddhism which arrived in the 4th century.
Tumblr media
The only drama set in the Silla period that I’ve briefly dabbled in is Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth which stars an A-list cast (Park Seo-joon, Go A-ra and Park Hyung-sik) but I’m sure is simply an excuse to put a bunch of very pretty looking boys in warrior uniforms. (I mean, hwarang literally translates as ‘flowering knights’ so case in point.)
Goryeo (918 - 1392) We fast forward to the founding of Goryeo which brought about ‘true national unification’ through centralisation of power, bringing under it the aforementioned three kingdoms as well as the northern kingdom of Balhae. One of the most well-known dramas set at the beginning of this era is Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (starring IU and Lee Jun-ki) which, thanks to its stellar acting but unsatisfactory ending is equal parts loved and hated among the drama watching community. (I just realised this is another drama with another all-star cast of very pretty men - are you spotting a pattern here? Haha!)
Tumblr media
Joseon dynasty (1392 - 1910) The majority of sageuk that I know of are based somewhere within the 500-odd years of the Joseon dynasty. There is a wealth of material to work off - be it the kingdom’s relationship with the neighbouring Ming dynasty, various Japanese and Manchurian invasions, as well as Neo-Confucianism taking over as the new state ideology.
It was also a time of great progress - the Great King Sejong created hangul, the native Korean alphabet in 1443, as sweetly depicted in one of my favourite fusion sageuks, Splash Splash Love, starring cute-as-a-button Kim Seul-gi and idol actor Yoon Du-joon. It’s just a 2-episode mini drama, but manages to pack in so much cross-dressing and time travelling hijinks, as well as incredibly well-fleshed out characters.
Tumblr media
After fighting off a Japanese invasion (1592 - 1598) and Manchu invasions (in 1627 and 1636), late Joseon saw itself as a bastion of civilisation and successor to a waning Ming dynasty. However, the West soon came knocking at its doors. Another time-travel drama, the recently completed Mr Queen, is a gender-bending portrayal of the titular Queen Cheorin (1837 - 1878) set towards the end of the Joseon era. While this wacky but highly enjoyable drama is blatantly inaccurate historically, it references the Donghak movement, a Neo-Confucian philosophical ideology which came about in response to seohak (‘Western learning’) which arrived to Korean shores via Catholic missionaries.
Tumblr media
The influence of Western ideology on late Joseon is further explored in Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung through a minor story line involving a Jesuit priest who disseminates his medical knowledge of vaccinations to combat smallpox, a disease rampant at the time. While Goo Hae-ryung, a female historian, is a historical impossibility and thus purely a work of fiction, her awareness of the importance of history and the accuracy in which it is recorded is summed up beautifully in this moving soliloquy, delivered whilst on her knees, with sword at her throat:
“Even if you slash my throat, our brushes will not stop writing. If I die, another historian will take my place; if you kill that historian, another will take their place. Even if you kill every historian in this land, and take away all the paper and brushes, you won’t be able to stop us. From mouth to mouth, teacher to student, elder to child, history will be told. That is the power of truth.”
Tumblr media
As such, our first lesson on Korea’s ancient history was such an important one - it gave us the context in which to understand Korean culture as an accumulation of struggle, war, peace and progress through millennia. The fact that its history can be enjoyed so thoroughly through sageuk is just another of the many reasons why I’m a lifelong fan of K-dramas…not that I needed any excuses to watch them in the first place!

May 4, 2021: The Host (2006) (Recap)
NO NOT THAT ONE
Tumblr media
Stephanie Meyer goddamn sucks. I realize that I’m not exactly the first person to say that, but she’s terrible. Not only is she not a good writer, but she also has some very disparaging views about science fiction and its fans, which led her to make her own science fiction book and film. ANd yeah...it’s terrible! No surprise there.
So, no, not the 2013 critical and commercial flop known as The Host. No, this post is about 2006′s The Host, AKA Gwoemul, AKA 괴물. I haven’t ventured to far into the world of Korean cinema, and with this film, my repertoire includes only the films of director Bong Joon-Ho. And if that name sounds familiar...it should.
Tumblr media
Bong Joon-ho DESERVEDLY made headlines last year when his film became the first non-English language film to win for Best Picture, and the first time Asian writers won for best screenplay! His Oscar speech in accepting best director is genuinely one of the best and most sincere speeches I’ve ever heard from a director, and I love the dude.
Oh, and if you’re wondering which film it was, then, like me, you also really need to watch Parasite. And because I’m terrified of spoilers, I’m not gonna look for GIFs of that movie. Instead, I’ll put in a GIF of one of my favorite sci-fi films, and the only other Bong Joon-ho film I’ve seen.
Tumblr media
God, I love Snowpiercer. And if this is anything like that, I’m probably going to love this movie. Now, I don’t really know much about this film, other than the fact that it’s a monster film. And if there’s any science-fiction subgenre more iconic than monster films, I don’t know it. Well...OK, aliens, robots, and more, but monster films are still a big part of the genre. But where does that begin? Is it here?
Tumblr media
Definitely an argument you can make, since Frankenstein’s Monster is a creation of science gone wrong, from the book to the movie. Fun fact, Mary Shelley based it on a real-world experiment by Italian physiologist Giovanni Aldini, who used a corpse to illustrate the connection between electricity and muscles. Neat, huh? So, yeah, that’s a solid launching point.
But that’s more of a horror story. What about something a little more monster-y? Well, from the UK to Japan we go!
Tumblr media
OHHHHHH YEAH, THAT’S THE GOOD STUFF
Toho’s 1954 film Gojira is one of the most classic monster films ever made, and singlehandedly launched the kaiju genre in Japan. And it’s really well-known that it was made as a response to post-World War II tensions about nuclear warfare. Which, in Japan, is kind of understandable, no? But nothing demonstrated the destructive power of science more than that moment in history.
So, Godzilla arrives. And the US also makes more monster movies, most of which take place in contemporary settings, making many of them lo-fi sci-fi. Now, some dipped into horror or fantasy, but the science fiction roots were there. Which eventually would bring us full circle to films where monsters were made and go loose. You know, like this:
Tumblr media
It’s a franchise that defines the ‘90s, and lab-grown monster movies exploded around that time as well. At the same time, environmental concerns REALLY started to build by this point, and those concerns leaked profusely into film all over the world. And by the time we get to 2006...well, let’s get into it, huh?
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Recap
Tumblr media
In a mortuary, a U.S. military doctor (Scott Wilson) instructs his assistant (Brian Lee) to dump bottles of formaldehyde down the drain of the facility, which goes directly into the Han River. The assistant protests, but the doctor insists, despite the risk of polluting the river. AAAAAmericans.
In the river about two years later, two fisherman see something strange looking in the river. Then, four years later, in 2006, a suicidal man is about to jump into the river, when he sees something dark in the water below.
Tumblr media
Later that year, we meet Park Hee-bong (Byun Hee-Bong) and his son Park Gang-du (Song Kang-ho), who run a food truck and snack bar near the river. Gang-du’s not exactly a hard worker, to his father’s chagrin. His daughter, Hyun-seo (Go Ah-sung), is a student who comes home from school, where her drunken uncle Nam-il (Park Hae-il) comes to her chagrin. She and her father watch TV, where his sister Nam-joo (Bar Doona) can be seen competing in archery.
As he’s bringing food out to customers, he joins them in observing something strange and massive hanging off of the bridge. And at this point, I would be running the fuck away. Literally, the news just said that there was a body found with the legs missing, and these people are throing cans at it after it plunges into the water. One girl asks if it’s a dolphin. Mother...HAVE YOU SEEN A DOLPHIN BEFORE?
Tumblr media
NOT THIS
Tumblr media
Yeah, this thing just comes bounding along the shore, slapping people into the water with its tail, and batting aside others. Doesn’t look like its actively killing anybody yet, but it’s definitely hurting people at least. That is, until it goes into a trailer where a bunch of people have gathered, and appears to eat a bunch of them. So, yeah, dangerous.
Gang-du, to his infinite credit, actually attempts to confront and hurt the creature, with the help of Donald White (David Joseph Anselmo). And it works, but at the cost of the creature aggro-ing onto him. Back at the snack truck, his sister’s lost the title, much to the chagrin of Gang-du’s daughter and father. She goes outside in frustration, only to be thrown into the midst of the chaos with her dad. He grabs a girls hand in the chaos, only to find that it’s a different child entirely. And...unfortunately...
Tumblr media
The creature grabs her with its tail, and leaps back into the river, disappearing. Fuck. Poor Hyun-seo, and poor Gang-du. Gang-du IMMEDIATELY goes to get her back, jumping into the river, but the creature takes her across to an island, out of reach. That night, an impromptu funeral is held for the victims, at which Hyun-seo is being honored as well. There, both Gang-du’s sister and brother also attend, and all four of the break down dramatically and publicly.
Tumblr media
Nam-il blames his brother for letting her die, which is unfair, but understandable. The family eventually calms down and discusses the circumstances of Hyun-Seo’s birth and death, both of which were accidental. As they do, a man in a protective suit comes out, and asks who was at the river incident. Nam-il protests this, and asks what’s going on. The man doesn’t explain, and the room is instead gassed, as everyone is ushered towards the entrance.
In the process, Gang-du (stupidly) reveals that he was hit by some blood splatter. He’s immediately stuffed in a bag and kidnapped by the authorities. Meanwhile, the news reveals that the creature is carrying a virus, and anyone who has been in contact with it has been infected. Because of this, the entire family is taken to a quarantine hospital, which oddly has very few actual quarantine procedures in place. And additionally, Gang-du is feeling a bit itchy.
Tumblr media
That night, in the hospital, Gang-du gets a call on his cell phone! It’s Hyun-seo! She’s alive! And she’s trapped, in a sewer somewhere near the river. Meanwhile, a group of men in protectve suits are outside patrolling the river. One man finds money on the side of the road, and goes to pick it up, only for the men to be attacked by the creature. But it’s then that we discover that the creature is not killing or eating people, but simply taking them own to its lair. Also in said lair is Hyun-seo, trapped and with a now dead phone.
The next day, the family tries to get an officer to look into the call, only for the officer to be, frankly, an absolute piece of shit to this grieving family. Gang-du tries to explain, and his explanation is ENTIRELY RATIONAL, but the officer and doctors are absolutely terrible about it.
Tumblr media
Because nobody’s listening, the family manages to escape from the hospital in order to try and save Hyun-Seo, and they hop into a van, taking it and running. This is a good place to mention that, despite this being a monster movie, it's also...weirly funny sometimes. Like, that whole scene is pretty great. After bartering with a group of gangsters for supplies (and after Hee-bong basically gives away all of his credit cards), the group manages to get a map and a new car. But they pretty quickly get stopped at a checkpoint into the city, and are nearly caught, but manage to escape and get to the riverfront. Once there, they begin searching the sewers to find Hyun-seo. And I gotta say; this may be an extremely dysfunctional family, but they’re a devoted family all the same.
Of course, that eventually gives way to arguments within the sewer itself, but that’s interrupted by a noise heard somewhere around them. They fire at it, using weapons obtained from the gangster but conclude that it was nothing. What it actually is is two brothers, older Se-jin (Lee Jae-eung) and younger Se-joo (Lee Dong-ho), homeless kids who are foraging the sewers in the abandoned city. But, of course, they eventually run into the creature, which attacks them. Meanwhile, an asleep Hyun-Seo dreams of dinner with her family, only to be woken up by the arrival of the creature, who deposits the bodies of the two boys in the sewer with her. Se-joo has survived, but Se-jin hasn’t, sadly.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the rest of the family is gathered at their snack bar for the night, and prepares to set out or the morning. The to younger siblings appear to not give a single shit about Gang-du, but Hee-bong attempts to set them straight, talking about how he blames himself for the way Gang-du is now. However, the two just fall asleep during his speech. Poor Hee-bong. Also, he can apparently identify Gang-du’s health condition based on his farts because they spend so much time together, it’s dumb, and funny.
Also, poor the rest of them, because Gang-du wakes up to see the creature just waiting outside, watching them. Hee-bong fires at it, but the creature attacks and knocks over the bar. However, Hee-bong manages to hit it directly in the head, knocking it off, but not killing it. The family goes out to finish the job, but it runs away before they can kill it. They run after it, and are almost completely out of bullets. Hee-bong volunteers to go after it himself, but in the process...
Tumblr media
Hee-bong doesn’t make it. The creature kills him, and the commotion attracts the military to their location. Gang-du is again captured, while Nam-il and Nam-joo escape, only to later be separated regardless. Meanwhile, the virus kills Donald White, the sergeant from earlier, and it continues to spread across Korea. To kill the creature, the government plans to release a chemical into the river called Agent Yellow, which feels...controversial.
Nam-il meats a colleague, “Fat Guevara” (Yam Pil-sung), who is easily able to provide a location for Hyun-seo using the number, which the cop earlier insisted was nearly impossible to do. Plus, both the sergeant and Gang-du encountered the creature together, and he seems to be just fine. Which probably means that something very wrong is happening now. Even worse, though, is the fact that Guevara’s appeared to trap Nam-il, as a massive reward is sought for his arrest. A gang of people surround hi, with the plan to capture him, but he VERY cleverly escapes by causing an electrical short, and AFTER having found Hyun-seo’s location! Nice, man! He takes off, now knowing exactly where his niece is.
Nam-joo, meanwhile, is literally living inside of the snack bar, and she gets a text from Nam-il with her location. He tags out, and she tags in, running to the location where the call came from. But she immediately runs into the creature, which knocks her down and unconscious. She manages to call Gang-du, who is currently about to be sedated. Now knowing where his daughter is, he tries to escape, only to be tackled by the doctors. He tells them where she is, but they don’t appear to listen. More importantly, the anesthetic doesn’t appear to work, much to the confusion of the doctors. Something is verrrrrrrry wrong here.
Tumblr media
An American doctor (Paul Lazar) comes, and asks what’s wrong, and he tells him exactly what’s wrong. However, despite his words SEEMING to be heard, they once again call him crazy and delusional, and decide to give him a lobotomy to isolate the virus once and for all, like FUCKING ASSHOLES. Turns out that the virus? Yeah, it doesn’t exist whatsoever! It doesn’t exist even a little bit! Which means that this entire thing is a wild goddamn goose chase for a virus that DOESN’T FUCKING EXIST!!!
And the best thing is that Gang-du, despite not actually knowing English, still understands the words “no virus”, and know he fucking knows! However, because he knows, they now have to give him a lobotomy. Fuck me, man. Panicking, he cries for them to stop, and cries for his daughter, who’s still alive in the sewer.
Tumblr media
Speaking of, Hyun-seo and Se-joo are bonding in the sewer, as they work to make a rope from things they find there. But in the process, they’re attacked by the creature, who know is actively eating the bodies, and presumably other people. Whoof. They manage to escape, but barely.
Back with Gang-du, who’s just gone through the lobotomy, which...hasn’t worked at all. Holy SHIT. Not sure what the hel is UP with this dude, but that’s a question in and of itself. He escapes by taking a nurse hostage, threatening them with a syringe of his blood, full of a virus that doesn’t exist!
Tumblr media
Nam-il wakes up at the same time, not accompanied by a homeless man (Yoon Je-moon), who agrees to take him to the bridge to find Hyun-seo. In the sewer, the two kids have survived, and the creature appears to be asleep. Like a GODDAMN BOSS, she runs up the creatures back, and jumps onto a rope that she had made, and that was hanging far out of her reach. Unfortunately...the creature catches her with its tail. Fuck. It sets her down, and...lets her go? But as soon as she runs, it attacks bother her and Se-joo.
Just then, Gang-du gets to the lair, and uses the rope to climb down. Below him is a pile of bones, and no kids to be seen. The creature goes by, and Hyun-seo’s hand is dangling out of its mouth. And once again by coincidence, that’s when Nam-joo wakes up and reunites with her brother. The creature runs to the waterfront, only to be greeted by...a crowd? They’re gathered there to protest the release of the dangerous chemical into the river.
Tumblr media
It all collides at once. The creature swims towards the crowd, Gang-du runs towards the creature, Agent Yellow is released over them both, causing the creature to faint. Gan-du runs up and grabs the bodies of his daughter and See-joo from its mouth, apparently too fucking late. Shit, man. This would’ve been avoided if they just HELPED him. Fuck. He carries her body away as more chemical is released onto the flailing creature, and the chemical causes everyone else in the area to violently hemorrhage as well. Meanwhile, Nam-il and Nam-joo arrive to see their deceased niece, grieving all over again. It’s...fuck, man, it sucks.
Tumblr media
And Gang-du is fucking PISSED NOW. He grabs a street sign and attacks the injured creature, fueled by pure rage. Nam-il joins in with Molotov cocktails as it runs away. The homeless man douses it with gasoline, and that makes it easier for Nam-il to set it on fire...until he drops the bottle. And then, Nam-joo uses it to light an arrow on fire, hitting the creature with it, and setting it ablaze. It runs to the water, only for Gang-du to stab it through the head with the street sign, finally killing it in revenge for his father and his daughter. Fucking bad-ASS. And also quite tragic, given the circumstances.
And despite the tragedy, there is one happy circumstance: Se-joo lives! In fact, Hyun-seo died saving his life, like the real goddamn hero of this story that she is. Fuck. That’s terrible, but I’m happy that her sacrifice wasn’t in vain. From here, we fast-forward to the winter, where a clean-shaven and well-kept Gang-du is is now caring for Se-joo. The news is on in the background, but the two ignore it, happily eating together after the ordeal they’ve been through.
Tumblr media
Whoof. That’s The Host, or Gwoemul! And yeah, that’s one hell of a movie, I tell you what. For a monster movie, it’s quite dramatic, and they don’t try to humanize the monster AT ALL. And honestly, I really like it! A Pyrrhic victory at the end, but nothing wrong with that! I’ll elaorate a bit in the review! See you there!

THE COUNTRY THAT I ADMIRED
Tumblr media
Have you been to South korea? If yes, I envy you. “South korea, East Asian nation on the southern half of the Korean Peninsula.” I always wanted to go in korea. You wanna know why?
I admire how South Koreans are so used to studying -- the country has the highest education level in Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries, with 98% of the population completing secondary education and 63% with a college education -- they can't get out of the habit once they reach the workforce.
As we all know, South korea is where our k-drama actors and actresses live. Of course from the word itself “k-drama or korean drama” silly me. K-drama or korean drama are television series or movies in the Korean language, made in South Korea. Korean dramas are popular worldwide, partially due to the spread of Korean popular culture, and their widespread availability via streaming services which often offer subtitles in multiple languages.
I know most of us millennials or even older or younger like or LOVE rather watching korean dramas. As for me, one of the reasons really, is that I would love to go to South Korea because of them. I'm an k-drama addict, you see. I mostly spend my time watching korean dramas and I cannot count anymore how many k-dramas I have already watched. I’m not expecting to finally meet them, but I still hope so. I want to go to many places, nice places that I have always seen in the series or movie. To feel like I was with them that time. I really always wanted to go to the country where they live.
Just like in the series, DOTS or descendants of the sun, D-day, School 2017, Sweet revenge 1, The odyssey, Weightlifting fairy, Strong woman, Legend of the blue sea, The heirs, Fight for my way and many more, my all time favorites. So let us see where this travelogue will bring us.
One of the places there in DOTS is Taekbaek Hanbo coal mine, the place where abandoned coal mines in Taebaek City, Gangwon Province, South Korea, were scenes of the soldiers’ military camp in fictional country Urk was filmed. It is where Captain Yoo Si Jin and Doctor Kang Mo-Yeon put the flag where the mines were, so that the people would know and be aware that it is dangerous to step.
Second place is Sorae Galmegi, one of the beloved Korean BBQ joints in Seoul, it is the perfect dining option for drama lovers who want to try out delicious local food. In the show, this is where the epic drinking session of the army occured. Song Hye Kyo joined 72 hours non stop drinking in Seoul too. This should come as no surprise, as drinking soju + eating mouthwatering pork cuts is one of favorite Korean pastimes.
Third, there are several scenes in the show that feature this cozy Korean coffee chain. Arguably the most memorable one is from the second episode in which Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo’s characters break up. We can find this branch of Dalkomm Coffee in the vicinity of Incheon Central Park, a lovely area in its own right.
Fourth, The European-style shopping mall lies in east Seoul, appearing in the show as a date spot for the two leads. As you glide through the lavishly decorated avenues, you can reenact the show and do a little shopping on the side.
Fifth is the modern architectural wonder located in Songo, Incheon. Its sleek, state-of-the-art appearance is one of the reasons why it appeared in a lot of drama. Tourists can climb up the tower to witness some of the most spectacular views of the Incheon Central Park and the surrounding area.
Sixth is Jaguen Maeul, Also known as Bok Chicken in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, Jageun Maeul is home to the fried chicken restaurant run by Bok Joo’s father in the show. Unlike the show, the restaurant serves a variety of Korean food instead. If you’re looking for an adventure outside of Seoul, Jaguen Maeul is the perfect place to relive Bok Joo and Joon Hyung’s awkward romance that made us swoon.
Seventh is Descendants of the Sun – Wolmido Island Theme Park, Fans may be disheartened to know that they can’t visit Uruk, the fictional country in which their love bloomed, but fret not! Many other sites of the drama can be found in Korea, including Wolmi Theme Park! Found on Wolmido Island near Incheon, the theme park is featured in the show’s first episode There, Si Jin and Dae Young are spending their time off trying to win themselves “girlfriends”, the show’s famous stuff toys.
Eight is Legend of the Blue Sea – Aqua Planet Yeosu, If the scene where Joon Jae and Shim Cheong reunite made your heart melt, this Legend of the Blue Sea set is the perfect place to relive the show’s romance. Multiple scenes were filmed at the aquarium, but this reunion scene was filmed in front of the Ocean’s Life main aquarium. The aquarium features over 280 species over 4 floors, and is said to be the second largest aquarium in Seoul.
Ninth is Boys Over Flowers – N Seoul Tower, As one of the most iconic landmarks in Seoul, it’s no surprise that the cult favourite drama Boys Over Flowers was filmed at Namsan Tower! The tower is where Jun pyo and Jan Di were supposed to have their romantic date. Famous for its gorgeous views of Seoul, it’s a popular date spot for couples. Who knows, you might even meet your own Jun Pyo while enjoying the view.
Tenth is The Heirs – Bukchon Hanok Village, A tiny traditional village in the heart of a bustling city, Bukchon Hanok Village dates back all the way to the Joseon Dynasty. In The Heirs, Eun Sang meets Kim Tan outside a dreamcatcher shop found in the village, but did you know the actual store sells egg tarts? The village is a popular tourist place for those wanting to experience traditional Korean culture. A walking tour is also available for those teens to find out more. But they said that you need to be quiet while walking along the way there because you may disturb the residents living there.
Eleventh is Shilla Millenium Park, Boasting what might be the most star-studded cast, Hwarang: The Beginning told the story of Hwarang warriors during the Shilla period. Being a period drama, most of the show was filmed at traditional heritage sites. Shila Millenium Park serves as set for Hwarang’s training ground in the show. Shilla Millenium Park is also home to dramas such as Queen Seondeok as well as Boys Over Flowers. The park allows visitors a peek into the life during the Shilla period, complete with architecture unique to the era.
Twelve is Strong Woman Do Bong Soon – Seoul Land, No Korean drama is complete without an adorable theme park date that makes us wish we had an oppa too. If Bong Soon and Min Hyuk’s date in Strong Woman Do Bong Soon seemed like the perfect date, don’t forget to stop by Seoul Land with your significant other! I really wanted to go here. I can see how they enjoyed themselves while walking in the park and I want to experience it too!
Thirteenth is Goblin – Jumunjin Beach. If you have already seen that drama, you would feel the same too! It was a nice scenery and for sure it can relieve stress. Your Korean drama pilgrimage isn’t complete without stopping at one of Goblin’s filming sites. One of the most iconic scenes from the show is when Eun Tak first summons Kim Shin to the beach on her birthday. Since then, fans have been flocking to the breakwater to recreate that moment. Jumunjin Beach is home to more than 5 breakwaters, so make sure you find the right one! if you’re not sure which one it is, look out for the huge TV signboard.
Fourteenth is Wolmido Island, Incheon (Descendants of the Sun). Those scenes where Captain Yoo Si-jin and Sergeant Major Seo Dae-young were playing at a shooting range? Yep, that was here, at Wolmido Island. Travelers can enjoy the vast array of cafes and seafood restaurants along the coast – with great coffee and sea views too boot. There’s also Play Hill, another theme park that’s a must-visit.
Fifteenth is Samcheok Daemyung Resort Sol Beach, Donghae (My Secret Romance). This Santorini-themed location was used to film My Secret Romance, and it’s actually a resort outfitted with Spanish architecture. It features restaurants, Aqua World (an indoor water park), a sauna, and a fusion buffet – perfect for unwinding after a long day of traveling around.
Sixteenth is Petite france. When you look at Petite France, it becomes no surprise why this is a popular filming location for K-Dramas – it’s a French cultural village complete with French-inspired buildings, and has The Little Prince Theme Park too to boot. Make sure to check out the Orgel house, where a 200-year old music box plays on end.
These places are just a glimpse of how the Country South Korea is beautifully made. You can check out in google many other places because there are still a thousand places that you can go to and enjoy. You cannot blame me why I would really love to go to South Korea because you can see how the places are wonderfully made. I also want to taste their food there and make a mukbang video as what I have always seen on youtube where many of the koreans do video mukbangs of many delicious foods. Check out G-Ni’s videos. I'm sure that it can make your mouth watery. We can see a variety of foods and a variety of restaurants where there are so many unexplainable tastes of food she introduced.
As I have researched many articles saying that Koreans also give heart warming welcome to those especially are new to their country.
I will not let things stop me from going to South Korea, it is really the place I would love to go to and spend it with someone who was really special like friends or family. I will work hard so that I can reach my dreams and treat them without minding how much I already spend. Aja! (Fighting). Kamsahamnida (thank you) for reading chinggus (friends) . I hope it made you want to go to South Korea also. Annyeong~ (Bye)

It’s been so long since I’ve written but Hyunji made me do it again ugh.
There’s no title yet and this isn’t technically a fic 😂 but let’s see where it’ll go!
The stories are set about four years from now and are entirely fictional. Unfortunately, I’m not a fortunate teller.
I would love prompts from you guys on what you want to see “reported”!
Enjoy!

“I hope she’s happy” pt 4
Tumblr media
Genre: Exes!AU
Pairing: Park Seo Joon x You
Prompt: “I hope she’s happy”
Chapters: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7
Chapter 4
Y/N FLASHBACK POV
“I’m sorry,” was all you could remember hearing Seo Joon said as he kissed your forehead when he came back in the wee hours of the night. You were at the coffee shop, daydreaming as you were waiting for your daily cup of cuppa. You knew you were going to have yet another long and hectic day, since the deadlines for your projects were around the corner.
You were doing that thing of yours again, daydreaming and staring into nowhere while you let your thoughts fly. It was only after the barista called your name three times then you refocused your vision and mind to reality. You were sipping on your Iced Americano and catching up on the daily news and occasional hot gossips, while walking to your office building. This was when you laid your eyes on that fateful article.
“Park Seo Joon and Hwang Jung-eum, caught at a secret date.”
You stopped dead in your tracks, as you read the article by Dispatch. Photographs of the two of them making their way to a secret date through different modes of transportation were captured. Although they were not as clear as it could be, the photographs made it seem convincing that the man in the photograph was indeed your boyfriend, Seo Joon.
“This can’t be right,” you muttered to yourself as you swiped away the news article that was on your phone. “Should I call him? But he’s sleeping. But wait, last night’s apology too.. It can’t be.” You decided to shrug the negative thoughts off, and instead keep yourself busy with the immense amount of work that you had to complete by the end of the day.
It was only at 8.30pm, when the sky was dark and the office was nearly empty, then you realised it was time to call it a day and head back home. At this moment, your phone’s notification sounded off. You picked up your phone and saw Seo Joon’s text, “Are you coming home soon?”. You gave him a quick reply, packed up, and drove as fast as you can back home.
As you were walking towards your shared apartment, you heard some faint music being played in the background. You keyed in the passcode and entered. “I’m home,” you called out, but to no reply. You took off your heels and placed your belongings on the kitchen island. “Seo Joon-ah..I’m home.”
The next thing you know, you found him lying on the sofa, dozed off in front of a lovely spread of chimaek (i.e. fried chicken and beer). You sat down in front of Seo Joon and caressed his soft cheeks.
Tumblr media
It didn’t take long for Seo Joon to realise your presence. “You’re home,” said Seo Joon in a hoarse voice, as he struggled to open his eyes.
Y/N: I’m so sorry. I kept you waiting. I didn’t know you were home early. Why didn’t you text me?
Seo Joon: I know you’re busy at work lately. Plus, I wanted to surprise you. I know you having a great meal of Chimaek is one of your favourite ways to relax after a long day of work.
You smiled and recalled your hectic schedule, but then remembered the article you read in the day. Your face fell instantly, but you were hesitant to bring up the article, so you decided to sit in silence as you devoured the chicken.
Seo Joon: So how’s your day?
Y/N: Not much, just been very busy with the project that I told you before.
Seo Joon: Anything interesting happened?
Y/N: No
Seo Joon: Okay..
Sensing that something was amiss, Seo Joon sat in silence as he watched you savour the chicken. Once you guys were done with the last piece of chicken, you got up, cleared the area, and headed to your bedroom.
Although you couldn’t quite make out if it’s truly your boyfriend, your mind was flooded with the images of Seo Joon from the Dispatch article. In hopes that your head would be clear by the time you’re out of the shower, you got into the toilet and gave yourself a good warm bath.
Seo Joon was already lying in bed, typing away on his phone as you stepped out of your bathroom. You dried your hair and then laid in bed.
Y/N: I’m going to sleep now. Night babe.
Seo Joon: Ok.
Y/N: What’s wrong?
Seo Joon: Nothing. Get your rest.
You turned around to face Seo Joon, and looked up to him even though you could barely keep your eyes open. “What’s wrong?”, said Y/N.
Seo Joon: Have you been reading the news?
You blinked and looked away.
Y/N: No.
Seo Joon: Come on Y/N. Don’t lie to me.
You sighed and sat up.
Y/N: Yes, I saw it, if the Dispatch article is what you’re talking about.
Seo Joon: Y/N-ah.. You know it’s not real right? I swear that is not me.
Y/N: Ok.
Seo Joon: You don’t sound okay at all..
Y/N: Seo Joon-ah.. I’m really exhausted. Mentally and physically exhausted. Can we talk about this tomorrow? Please.
Seo Joon: But you don’t sound ok at all.. Y/N can we talk please.. I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep tonight.
“You seemed great at it when you dozed off on the coach earlier on,” said Y/N coldly.
“Ya. Stop it. All I’m trying to tell you here is that I am not the guy in the photographs. And mind you, I am trying my best to spend as much as time with you as possible. You know I can’t help it that our schedules are packed and usually don’t even sync,” retorted Seo Joon.
“What if you’re lying? I barely get to see you these days. In fact, all I get are your occasional texts, and those short glimpses of you coming in late, or when I’m getting ready for work in the morning,” said Y/N. Seo Joon sat in silence.
Y/N: Honestly, sometimes I feel I don’t know you anymore.
Seo Joon: What?
Y/N: I’m saying, there are probably things that are happening in your life that I don’t know about. Maybe you are lying to me about this whole scandal. Who knows? We don’t talk anymore, and I’m starting to think that maybe this isn’t working anymore.
Seo Joon: What are you trying to say? Are you trying to break up with me?
Tears were starting to well up in your eyes.
Y/N: Yeah, maybe we should! I feel so alone even though we are in the same room, lying in the same bed. It feels like we’re in different worlds and I can barely breathe in yours.
“Y/N-ah.. Please don’t say that”, said Seo Joon as he struggled to keep his voice clear through the tears. Seo Joon stretched out his hand to hold yours, but you pushed it away.
Y/N: Do you know how much I’ve been going through since the start of your acting career? I’ve been telling myself, ‘Don’t let it get to you. It’s all an act. It’s just for the drama. It’s just to promote the drama. It’s nothing’. I’ve said this phrase for as long as I can remember and honestly it’s really taxing and I’m getting tired.
I’m tired of pretending that I’m okay on the outside, especially in front of you, even though I’m dying on the inside. A part of me dies on the inside when I see these gorgeous girls throw themselves at you, be it actress or not. Do you know what happens when the paparazzi catches these moments and uploads nonsensical articles like today’s? A part of me dies on the inside.
Oh yes, I read every single article babe! Every single one that appears on my news feed. And, have you ever once asked me if I would be okay with going public with our relationship? No. The only people who are aware of our relationship, or whatever you want to call this, are my parents, my best friend, and your parents.
Seo Joon: I’m sorry.
Y/N: No seriously, what are you sorry for? This is part and parcel of your job isn’t it?
Seo Joon: I’m sorry..
Y/N: Seo Joon, I’m done. I’m really done. I’m sorry but I’m done. I’m really tired from all the jealousy that I feel, all of my insecurity eating me up from the inside. I’m done hiding in the shadows! Let’s just call it quits.
You got up and started to pack your belongings. “Y/N-ah.. Stop this. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for being insensitive towards your feelings. I should’ve done better. I should’ve tried harder,” said Seo Joon with a hoarse voice. Seo Joon was hugging you from the back, as more tears started to stream down his face.
Fighting back tears, you pushed his arms away from your waist, got your car keys and made a beeline for the front door. Seo Joon ran after you, and got to the door before you. “Please, don’t do this. We can fix this. I’m sorry,” cried Seo Joon as he held your hands. Even though your vision was blurry from all the tears, you could see the hurt in his eyes.
“I’m sorry Seo Joon. I cannot take this anymore. You deserve someone who is stronger than this. I love you, but I’m done. I’m sorry.” You pushed his hands away and walked out on him.

Are you human too?
Year : 2018 | Country : KR | Nb of episodes: 18
My rate: 8/10
Synopsis :
The drama tells of an android called Nam Shin III who must pretend to be the son of a rich family when the real Nam Shin falls into a coma. Nam Shin's mother, Oh Ro Ra, is a genius on brain technology and artificial intelligence (AI) so when her son, the real Nam Shin, is taken away from her at a young age, in her grief she creates an android that looks exactly like her son and has it grow up in the place of Nam Shin. But when Nam Shin, who is a third generation heir to PK group, gets in an accident and is comatose, the android Nam Shin III must learn how to take his place.
Main cast :
Seo Kang Joon as Nam Shin
Gong Seung Yeon as Kang So Bong
Kim Seung Ryung as Oh Ro Ra
Lee Joon Hyuk as Ji Young Hoon
Park Hwan Hee as Seo Ye Na
Yoo Oh Sung as Seo Jong Gil
My thoughts on this drama :
As a huge fan of Science Fiction and robotics, I could not not watch this drama. Even more so when the male lead is Seo Kang Joon. I enjoyed it a lot. The special effects are nicely made and the actors played their part well.
Of course, one should keep in mind that it can only be absurd regarding the romance, considering that robots are, in the end, only machines. But it was pleasant and there were some incredibly awesome shots where you would love to be in the story, just to witness it with your own eyes! I think I'll rewatch it someday...

I love your writing style! I finished reading all of your work and I am craving for more. While I wait for your new stuff, can you please suggest some of your favorite writers on tumbler? Thank you!!
Aw thank you so very much, this means so much to me that you’ve read a lot of my stories! I appreciate all the effort and time spent on my blog!
As for favourite writers, well because if it isn’t at all obvious on my blog, I’m on a bit of a GOT7 fiction journey right now so a lot on this list predominately write for GOT7. However a couple are multifandom / exo. I’ll make a point to mention what each writer does. I also love a lot more writers than on this list, I’m just working on zero sleep and energy right now, so forgive me to all those amazing authors I’ve missed off this list.
@inyournightmares97 - GOT7 fictions and literally every one on this blog just takes me to another world. I love love lovee The Savage King and the current series My Youth is E V E R Y T H I N G. Currently my favourite writer on this website and the place I go to when I’m wanting to read Jinyoung. Cannot speak highly about this blog enough.
@noona-clock - multifandom - with a very big catalogue (I’m still probably only 1/8 through it tbh). B has something on this blog that suits everyone out there. It’s like a Treasure Chest full of good stories and idols. B also writes for some actors as well, and literally has the best Park Seo Joon content on Tumblr. As a fellow fluff/romance writer like myself, I find B’s writing style very relatable and easy to fall in love with.
@katdefbeom - multifandom but mostly GOT7 // really has a lot of diversity between mature content, fluff, au’s etc. Just a lot to discover! I’m still making my way through Kat’s masterlist, but what I’ve read so far is really interesting. And tbh, I’m such a naive thing when it comes to smut, and some heavier ideas, but the quality of the writing on her mature pieces really allows me to read on which is a big thing for me as smut can be so poorly written - definitely not on this blog!
@soobadnoonecanstopher - EXO with a focus on Kyungsoo // TBH I’ve read all of Lori’s Kyungsoo and Sehun fictions and still need to make it through the rest of the list but everything is captivating. Especially her Kyungsoo series All His and Only The One You Love have owned my soul ever since I read them. The content is pretty mature, but the characterisation and dialogue is superb.
@monicaexol - EXO // Monica’s ideas are so unique. Sure, there are a few dark turns and twists but I’ve been so captivated by everything I’ve read on her blog.
@tuanyiems - GOT7 // I love the playfulness of this Ems writing! I fell in love with her style over a Jinyoung piece, but the excitement and understanding of her characters continues through all her idols she writes for and this is something I truly appreciate.
@parkhabits - GOT7 and I think BTS? // admittedly, I haven’t read too many fictions, but I loveee Chances Taken so if you’re a Jinyoung fan like me, and don’t mind mature content, please check this out!
@got7-markjinson - GOT7 // whilst I’m new to this blog, I’m finding it very exciting to read through! The way the stories are presented really speak to me. I’m a morals kind of gal and I feel that in most of the stories on this blog, there is a moral compass and I truly appreciate that.
@goodnightkisseu - WANNA ONE / EXO // Ashley comes up with really intriguing ideas and her characters develop in a way that is captivating!
@ongnable - WANNA ONE // Jas is the reason I made this blog last year and her stories that she has on her blog are really soul reaching. I don’t think she writes anymore, but the content there is amazing!
Tbh, I’m mindblanking since I’ve been so hectic of late as to who else to suggest. I hope this is enough to keep you going until I’m back on Monday with new fictions!

Chapter 6: only you in my eyes
When I woke up I was laying on his arm. His face looked so innocent like a baby. When I tried to touch his cheeks he openend his eyes. “Goodmorning”. He said.
HS: Did you sleep well?
He looked at me like I was someone precious to him. I felt like I was in heaven.
HS: I bet you did, ‘cause you were snoring like a bear.
Yep he’s back to his usual self. *sigh* . I enjoyed the 1 minute of preciousness while it lasted.
Y/N: Heol. You were the one who pulled me into your bed last night! HS: But that was what you wanted right? I mean why would you else come in a men’s room late at night. Y/N: I just tried to ask you if you had a extra blanket! Idiot! HS: -pats your head- You were cold huh? Y/N: Well duh. Mister obvious. Why else would I come to your room! HS: Did you see my face…-touches his chin- I mean.. Y/N: OMG. I so can’t deal with your arrogant head right now.😒 HS: Mian. Mian.😅Shall I make us some food? KJ: Yes! I’m in for that.
When we looked at where the voice was coming from, we saw Kang Joon standing in the doorway, shirtless! He looked so hot with his messy hair.
Y/N: -staring- *drool*🤤 HS: 😠What are you standing there for! KJ: I heard you guys arguing and then I heard the word food. So here I am.😶
One by one we all went to shower. Hyungshik was cooking something delicious. When I came out of the bathroom the house smelled so good.
After eating, the boys went to school and I decided to sit on the couch and watch some tv. But I was so bored that I actually fell asleep. In my dreams Hyungshik walked over to me. He touched my cheeks and held my head dearly. His lips kissed mine so passionately that it almost felt real. (He actually kissed me in my sleep). When I woke up I saw his face in front of mine. Very close. My face became red and body felt very hot. I thought that I was still dreaming, but then he putted his hand on my forehead and asked me if I was okay. Then I realized that I wasn’t dreaming and pushed him back. “What are you doing I said”.
HS: It looked like you had a fever. So I checked. But you look fine now. Y/N: That’s not what I meant. What are you doing here at home. HS: I was getting bored, so I came home to see your dorky face. Y/N: What about Kang Joon? -looking at the door- HS: 😠Why are you asking about him, when I’m sitting in front of your nose. And even if I’m not, you should only think about me. Y/N: What are you getting jealous for….No actually I understand. Kang Joon is pretty hot. Especially shirtless🤣 Hyungshik pushed me back on the couch. “I’ll make it so that you won’t wiggle your tail in front of other guys”. He whispered in my ear. His face came closer and closer, before his lips touched mine, I screamed: “stop”. My eyes became teary.
Y/N: Why are you doing this when were not even dating! You don’t even like me.
He backed out and let my hands go. HS: *sigh* Do I really have to spell it out for you?
I sat up with my knees against my chest. Dumbfounded with still tears in my eyes. “What do you mean”. I said.
HS: *sigh* I like you. Okay. Very much. Y/N: Liar. You’re so popular at school. You have lots of girls at your feet. -cries more-. HS: I’m not lying idiot. -hugs you- You’re the only one I look at. Y/N: -cries less- Since when? *pouting* HS: *smiles* I don’t know. But every time I look at your face I want to kiss it. -looks at you- Like now. -looks at your lips-
Hyungshik first touched my lips with his thump. Then gently kissed me. I closed my eyes and putted my arms around his neck. Deep in my heart I really wanted to hear those words. So I hoped that this wasn’t a dream. He kissed my lips for a long time, then he switched to my neck. It felt so good. His hands slipped under my shirt. And he tried to unhook my bra. “Wait”. I said.
HS: I can’t wait any longer…
He laid me back gently and pulled my shirt up. Then I felt his lips kissing my belly softly. He went up to my boobs and sucked my nipples. I tried to stop him, but he made me feel so weak.
When we both heard the door open, we both jumped. Quickly I covered myself with my blanket. Kang Joon was walking into the living room saying: “Yo”.
HS: Wwwwwhat the heck are you doing here.😳 KJ: School is over….wait. You’re both red. Am I interrupting something juicy again? Y/N: No! HS: Yes, you cockblocker! 😐 Y/N: Shut your mouth! HS: But it’s the truth. Y/N I’m going to shower. HS: Want me to accompany you?😏 Y/N: No thank you! HS: ☹️
Kang Joon walked over to Hyungshik and said: “Sorry man”. While patting his shoulder.
HS: Oh shut up!
When I came out of the bathroom, Hyungshik already made diner. It was delicious.😋
KJ: So want to go to the club? HS: Nope. We’ll pass. Y/N: Why are you deciding for me too. I’m not a kid. HS: I thought that you were tired. Why aren’t you in bed yet. Go. Y/N: I'm👏🏾Not👏🏾A👏🏾Kid. Fyi. HS: I don’t care. Shoooo. Y/N: Asshole😠
I got up and walked over to the couch to walk some tv.
KJ: I won’t be back till morning, so you guys can do your thing.😉 HS: Thanks man.😁
Kang Joon left and after Hyungshik was done with the dishes, he came to sit next to me on the couch. “Shooooo”. I said.
HS: *smiles* Shall we finish what we started? Y/N: Nope!😒 HS: Why not🙁 Y/N: Because you are a jerk. 😠 HS: But you fell for this jerk right?😏 Y/N: I never said that.😐 HS: Maybe I should confirm it then!
Hyungshik brought his face closer again to kiss me and this time, I did no try to stop him at all.
I will leave the rest to your imagination😉
This was the last chapter of only you in my eyes. I hope you enjoyed it. If you have a suggestions about someone you want to read about. Please let me know.
Annyeong😘🤗

“I hope she’s happy” pt 6
Tumblr media
Genre: Exes!AU
Pairing: Park Seo Joon x You
Prompt: “I hope she’s happy”
Chapters: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7
Chapter 6
Y/N POV
“I deserve a good soak in the bathtub tonight,” you thought to yourself as you walked your way up to your apartment after a long day of work, and of course that great catch up with your good friend Ha Yoon.
As you undressed, you took your favourite bath bomb, Deep Sleep from Lush, and dropped it into the bathtub. You got into the bathtub and began to admire the fizzing bath bomb in front of you. Needless to say, you were editing the boomerang you took of the bath bomb right now as you immersed yourself in the bathtub.
After posting the boomerang, you began scrolling through your Instagram feed. There it was, Seo Joon’s latest Instagram post. You were hesitant to “like” it but decided a “like” wouldn’t hurt. You then clicked through his profile and scrolled through his profile feed. “He still looks as good as ever,” you murmured to yourself.
You were raking your brain on how you should execute Ha Yoon’s great suggestion of texting Seo Joon again. “A text won’t hurt right?,” you mimicked Ha Yoon and rolled your eyes. “It’s easier said than done man. How am I going to do this without sounding like a creep with an ulterior motive,” you sighed.
“Do I even still have his number?”, you thought to yourself and proceeded to search your contact list. Although you had vivid memories of gathering anything and everything that held memories of the both of you and chucking them into the bin, you somehow still have Seo Joon’s phone number in your phone.
“It’s possible that he has changed his number right? Maybe this ain’t him anymore,” you thought to yourself again.
You went back to Instagram and noticed Seo Joon has viewed your bath bomb Instagram Story. “Why is he still awake at this hour,” you murmured as you looked at the time.
Y/N: Okay Y/N, let’s just do this. You can do this. A DM on Instagram wouldn’t hurt right?
Just as you were about to click on “Message” on Seo Joon’s Instagram profile, you got notification from your Instagram Story.
“bn_sj2013 replied to your story”
“Oh my god,” you cupped your mouth from shock.
Seo Joon: Are you ok?
You sat up and started to panic. “Okay, chill Y/N. You’ve got this.”
Y/N: Yeah why?
You closed your eyes after you saw Seo Joon was online and typing away. Your heart was racing as you saw the typing indicator go on and off.
Seo Joon: Oh nothing.. I just remember you used to use this bath bomb when you are stressed out. Hope you’re doing fine..
Your heart skipped a beat from reading his reply.
Y/N: I’m fine.
Seo Joon: Ok..
“Shit, why did I do that? ‘I’m fine’?! I just dug my grave. How am I supposed to continue talking to him like this?!” You exclaimed.
Y/N: How have you been? 😊
Seo Joon: I’m good. Been better.
Y/N: Why aren’t you asleep? It’s past 10.30pm.. You don’t have an early schedule tomorrow?
Seo Joon: Erm.. not really. Taking a break from filming tomorrow.
Y/N: Oh. What are you busy filming at the moment?
Seo Joon: Hwarang. It’s a historical romance drama that’s due to be out by the end of this year.
Y/N: Ah.. I see. Sounds interesting.
Seo Joon: Yeah..
Y/N: I’ll keep a lookout for it! 😊
Seo Joon: Thank you. But enough about me, what have you been up to?
Before you could type a reply to Seo Joon’s message, Seo Joon sent another message that read, “Btw, are you still using the same phone number? Do you mind if we talk on KakaoTalk? I mean unless you're uncomfortable about this then it’s fine.”
Your mind went blank. You stared at your phone for a minute before coming to your senses again. With haste, you replied Seo Joon.
Y/N: Yeah, sure! It’s the same number.
Within seconds, you got a notification from your KakaoTalk. It was Seo Joon. You couldn’t believe your eyes.
Seo Joon: Hey
Y/N: Hi
Seo Joon: Yeah, what have you been up to?
You proceeded to fill him in on the latest of your work life, and gave him a quick update on your parents when he asked about them.
Seo Joon: I’m glad to hear that your parents are doing great, and that you’re doing great yourself too. 😊
Y/N: Yeah! Thanks for asking.
Without knowing, 20 minutes seemed to have passed since the moment you started your soak. You got up hurriedly, drained the bathtub, and proceeded to take a quick shower. While you were away from your phone, Seo Joon sent another text.
Seo Joon: Hey Y/N.. If you don’t mind, do you want to go out for coffee tomorrow? That is if you don’t have anything planned for tomorrow.
