This is the face of a man that literally hands in his wife to the villain😅

First of all..I'm so sorry ..again to sang woo coz man u were scary last week ..I'm sorry to doubt u over and over again.

Well he did redeemed himself by saving sa eon & his 'father' also he explained on how he know hee joo can speak..so I'm truly sorry to doubt u.

But park do jae..omg..the moment I found out ..I'm like fuck..and preview for tomorrow is so twisted but there's a kiss in the middle of it..yes ..the only things I anticipate for tomorrow😍

How Im so shock + relieve that hee joo finally talk to find his missing husband at the beginning.

Paik Sa eon be like I'm so strong and I heal fast..eventhought I get knocked out in fire..I can still get up and chase my wife

Also the amount of sweetness in today ep is interupted

Please let them be happy in sleep and hug for a long time ..not for short moment..😠

2024 kdrama post

We are already in December and nothing new I am likely to be interested in is gonna drop before the end of the year - and if it does it will run into 2025 so I can address it in my 2025 kdrama post, unless we are all ruled by lizard aliens by then.

Normally I list all the dramas made this year that I watch, thoughts on them, blah blah but this year I disliked most of the kdramas I tried (it was the worst kdrama year for me since 2006 when I first started!) and I don't want to make a giant negative post, so I am going to only mostly talk about the kdramas I enjoyed in some capacity.

From least to most:

Love Your Enemy - I don't really like it tbh, but it's here for nostalgia over JJH.

Tell Me You Love Me - good and quiet but suffers in comparison to the original and that FL actress is just not my cup of tea.

Connection - Ji Sung gives a powerhouse performance in a very solid crime drama; it's not higher because it's just not my genre.

The Midnight Shop - it was nice seeing Joo Won in not a disaster of a drama. It wasn't as engrossing as it could have been but I did like both the mains and rooted for them.

Knight Flower - was I emotionally involved? Nah. Was I entertained? Yeah.

The Judge From Hell - "was I emotionally involved? Nah. Was I entertained? Yeah." Redux.

Queen of Tears - honestly, it should probably be in the below category but I enjoyed myself for the first half so much, I am willing to pretend the nonsense disaster plots and character interactions of second half were not as bad as they were.

My Demon - sucker for supernatural romance fantasy done right (to me it was, I know some people didn't like it.)

Goryeo Khitan War - I put it on my 2023 list too so it's double dipping but whatever. This is just a grand old school sageuk and I adored every moment.

Lovely Runner - normally youth dramas bore me but this one was so sweet, so lovely, so pitch perfect.

Black Out - did not really feel like a kdrama at all, more like a prestige BBC production, but I loved it anyway, as bleak and harrowing as it was.

When the Phone Rings - my current obsession, old school melo the way they haven't made in years.

The sad thing is, a number of these dramas started airing in 2023 and/or beginning of the year. Most of this year has been the Sahara.

Dramas which I enjoyed off the start and then fell off the cliff into what the hell land: Captivating the King (wonderful first 4-5 episodes, OK few following, stupid as hell the rest - solid acting brought down by a ridiculous script), The Story of Park's Marriage Contract (great first two eps and then downhill rapidly with each following episode), Love Song For Illusion (first ep not bad, second ep tolerable, after that with each ep, my ff fingers got twitchier and twitchier.)

OTP of the year: Duh, Baek Sa Eon x Hong Hui Joo, When the Phone Rings, have you seen this tumblr lately?

Trend I wish would die: 8 ep kdramas, 12 ep kdramas. Bring back freaking 16 ep as a minimum standard. Also pls get Disney and Netlfix out of kdrama world while we are on impossible wishes.

Genre I need less of: romcoms; Genre I need more of: proper sageuk.

Worst waste of my eyeballs: The Impossible Heir.

Most boobs per minute: Queen Woo.

Best non-2024 kdrama I watched this year: Beyond Evil. A total masterpiece.

Still thinking about Baek Sa-eon in the final scene of Ep 9, realising that he left his wife, the reason for his existence, in the care of the person who is in cahoots with the guy who is hell-bent on ruining his life. He is still reeling from Park Do Jae's betrayal and feeling a lot of guilt for sure. The very reason Hong Hee-joo is even on the kidnapper's radar is because of her association with him. Remember how distressed he was when she fell off the cliff? Yeah, take that and multiply it by 100 to quantify how terrified he's feeling right now.

Woah woah! So much happening in the 10th episode! Like wdym Park Do Jae wants revenge on real Baek Sa Eon but he was his accomplice all along like a clown??? Wdym fake Sa Eon isn't the grandson but the son of that old geezer??? Wdym that heterochromatic eyes b*tch got Hee Joo's stepbrother killed??My rage's fueling up for Baek Sa Eon's mother🔪Not Hee Joo being kidnapped one after another💀 Also the way he ate her out lol after she found out it was an arrange marriage arranged by HIM and she WASN'T a stand-in! And he revealed Hee Joo as his wife finally???? And I was literally crying by the end of the episode and they suddenly pulled out the smooch scene in the epilogue but then again made me cry till the end😭😭 I mean bro let me take a breathe for a moment!!!

This scene was so funny to me because petty Baek Sa Eon literally dragged his friend (?) around to just make him memorize the number then dumped him who-knows-where.

Couldn't he have just sent the number to him via text? Or just mentioned it in the parking lot?????

listen i know praise has been heaped on Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin, and rightfully so, for their roles in When The Phone Rings, but i really hope that Park Jae Yoon gets the level of recognition he deserves because the job he's done has been insane. the physicality of his portrayal of OG Baek Sa Eon is mind blowing; the speech patterns, the way he moves and holds himself, how consistent he's been through the whole show, through every scene, every moment, every movement, every line.

but also like where did this guy even come from? the one tiny fragment of information about him on MDL is that he's a musical actor, which makes sense since he's clearly talented and experienced, but he's only had what looks like two bit parts on camera before WTPR.

i really hope he stays in television and film because i would love to see more of him after this. i want to see what else he can do. i hope he's getting scripts thrown at his feet right now and that he has his pick of projects and gets to do what he wants. i hope he's ridiculously successful. i hope we get to see him again soon.
