i have reached 900 lovely readers so i’ve decided to do a poll in light of this. this is a little late to be halloween themed but i figured we can binge read together the night before halloween. that being said, this is only going to be open for 24 hours and i will get started on the reblogs asap.
side note #1: these may not be everyone’s cup of tea who already follows me (specifically the slashers/horror) so i will put unique tags with said fic reblogs (which are listed below) so you can block the tags. there will be a lot more reblogs than usual at once as i want to get these out to you as soon as possible so if you don't want to see them all, block the tags i've listed below. side note #2: be mindful of your own triggers with these!! these ones include very heavy topics including violence, blood/gore, cannibalism, torture, smut with serial killers/paranormal entities, non-con, murder, ect. some of these fics may not have proper warnings listed so just be mindful of this!
tags to block #halloween binge - for all the fic recs i will be reblogging over today/tomorrow/the 31st (there will be a LOT) #slashers - for all the slasher fic recs #zombies - for all the zombie fic recs #paranormal - for all the paranormal fic recs

WIP Poll...2!
This is based off of the badly summarized WIP poll...now with good summaries (under the cut!)
Last Light - dark sapphic fantasy. The winner of the last poll! The world is slowly being consumed by darkness - and vampires. When an ancient living library reappears, a witch, a vampire, and a werewolf must all work together to navigate it - and maybe find the origin of the curse. But not everything that's dead has stayed dead. (coming out sooooonish?) Shadowcast - gaslamp mlm fantasy. Emery is content to create ornaments that deter monsters known as shadows in the small town of Silverhaven. Until those attacks become too frequent to ignore. The knight send a small envoy, and sparks fly between him and a young knight named Lucas. But there's something in his past that he never could have predicted, and maybe everything he knew isn't true at all. Ghost Punch - paranormal horror comedy. Shay does not believe in ghosts, but she still goes ghost hunting with her best friend, Max, on Friday nights. One such evening turns deadly when it becomes apparent that not only are ghosts very real, but she has the ability to touch and see them. She'll have to team up with a fellow ghost hunter, a witch, and an amnesiac ghost if she wants to save her town from supernatural forces. And if she can touch ghosts, she can punch them. (if you would read this one, the first two books are out, and also this is my number 1 child I love these books with all my heart) Princess of the Monsters - fantasy. Dungeon diving is the most lucrative business on the continent. Each monster has a gem that can power magic devices - the bigger the monster, the bigger the gem, the more magic it holds. And the more it's worth. A small party enters a dungeon and finds a girl down there. they have no real choice but to bring her with them, but she seems to attract monsters, bringing creatures to the surface. (honestly this is a new-ish idea I really need to flesh it out because it sounds so fun. heavily dnd inspired)
Ocean Sky - fantasy. Centuries before, all of the ocean water was turned into aether, filling the sky with a fantastical magical ocean. Flying ships joined whales, mermaids, and jellyfish storms. And with flying ships, came pirates. A decade before, a spell was stolen from the magical academy of the floating isles. Blamed for its disappearance, Amira and her friends are expelled. So, doing the only thing they can do, they turn to piracy, becoming the first wizard pirates. But the spell is still out there, with a former classmate, and it could change everything. (i still need most of the plot this is mostly about the worldbuilding right now) Snow as White as the Moon - sapphic fantasy. There are three rules. Never go into the forest alone. Never bargain with the fae. And no matter what you do, never enter their domain. When Addie's best friend disappears, she's ready to break all three rules. Even with the Sight, it'll take everything she has to not be tempted down into the depths forever. Especially with the attention of the enigmatic Princess Briar. (I wrote a draft of this for nanowrimo one year! I probably will never rewrite it into anything resembling a good story, but it's a very loose and fast retelling of the snow queen)
Summoning Trouble - cozy urban-esque fantasy. David and Wallace have been running a magical anomaly investigation agency together for years, but lately are struggling. Hiring Lin seems like it will solve a lot of problems, but their first case ends up being a lot more than they bargained for. They'll have to handle a lot of changes, the least of all being the demon someone is trying to summon. (hopefully coming out sometime this year or next!)

The votes have been counted, and we’ve compiled the official prompt list for Sledgefu Week 2020! As you all know, we made the decision to push the ship week back by a month or so; these are the new dates to mark on your calendars :~)
Just like last year, there will be two prompts per day: an AU, and a non-AU. We’ve tried to pair them up a little, so you can combine them, or just do one, or do two separate prompts if you’re feeling like an overachiever! Plus, the list of suggestions for this year were so good that Lea and I both picked an extra prompt from the polls that was a special favourite of ours, and have included that on an optional eighth day. No pressure to do more than you want to, just thought we’d shine some light on a couple slightly less popular but still really great prompts!
This year, the prompts are:
Monday 27/07 - Letters // Pirate AU
Tuesday 28/07 - Touch // Southern Gothic AU
Wednesday 29/07 - Dusk & Dawn // Vampire AU
Thursday 30/07 - Rain // Paranormal AU
Friday 31/07 - Pride // Coffeeshop AU
Saturday 01/08 - Healing // Ghibli AU
Sunday 02/08 - Blush // Enemies to Lovers AU
Monday 03/08 - Body- & Genderswap // Myth AU (Mods’ choice)
All forms of submissions are accepted be that art, edits, writing or whatever other exciting thing you can come up with! There will be no official signups, but we hope that as many as possible of you want to participate and make this a great week with lots of creative and exciting stuff. If you’d like to submit directly via AO3, you can find the collection right here. If there are any questions about the prompts, submission or anything else then don’t hesitate to pop us a message! Also, if you’d like to chat about the prompts, or organise a re-watch of the The Pacific before the big week, check out the discord channel, where we do word sprints and share ideas and work :~)
Sledgefu Week will start on the 27 of July and end on the 3rd of August. We are looking forward to see all your amazing submissions!

Whether it’s an AU of your favourite show or movie, an imagining of ColdWestAllen as psychics and spellcasters, or something else entirely, let your imagination create something that’s truly magic!
Thursday, June 7th – Food Food comes in many different flavours, and so too does this prompt. Explore ColdWestAllen in a fast-paced restaurant environment, the close confines of a food truck, the creative space of a test kitchen, and so much more!
Friday, June 8th – Medical Venture to a hospital, a vet clinic, or even a morgue to explore the much-loved dynamic between Len, Barry, and Iris when lab coats are involved! Or perhaps imagine all three in a hospital setting with no MDs involved, if you’re feeling particularly cheeky!

Sunday, June 10th – Space Anything goes, from intergalactic wars to alien races to space westerns! Let the galaxy be your playground as you explore the world of ColdWestAllen when things are out of this world!
Remember, our askbox is open and replies come as quick as we’re able. Also check out our FAQ page for specific questions that we might already have answered there.
The official tag for this week is #cwachangingchannels however Tumblr’s tagging system isn’t always reliable, so the best way to make sure your work is seen and reblogged is to @ us, or to send the link via Tumblr messenger.
Good luck, ColdWestAllen friends, and as always...
Happy Creating!

Event: Masquerade Charity Ball
IN CHARACTER Begins: Friday April 28 at 6:30 pm - midnight
OUT OF CHARACTER Begins: Thursday April 27 8:00 am Ends: Sunday April 30 midnight
VOTING Begins: Thursday April 27 6:00 pm-ish Ends: Sunday April 30 12:00 pm Announced: Sunday April 30 6:00 pm-ish
Special Event: Will be announced Monday May 1st
The event has attracted more attention than any student, resident, or politician could have ever predicted. International attention.
The Mayor’s public display of control has all eyes back on Klamenth Falls. Those who wish to support the rebuild are attending the event and others who want to witness its failure circle town bearing cameras and questions. Wealthy founders and celebrities have reached out to organizers who try to keep the lid shut, but this news is far too exciting. Not to mention moving.
Klamenth Falls does not stand alone.
After the Charity Ball, some might wish it would return to a quieter time where the voice of a neighbor guided all influence. Stars wont be the only focus for the evening, in all honesty the ignorant troop of visitors want to hear all about Klamenth Falls surviving supernatural residents. Stir up nerves and controversy by asking questions that strike below the belt. Spotlight can be alluring until it spreads. How will humble Klamenthians handle such attention?
Once guests have entered the seemingly secure auditorium, they will face fabulous decorations that have been faceted on just about every surface imaginable. From chair to ceiling, even the light fixtures were replaced to give off a mid-thirties black and white vibe. Glitter, tassels, balloons. One great big fantasy come to life.
The entry way is guarded by local police officers and five different ushers who will individually mark you off the list before showing you to your seat. Tables can sit six and the catered dinner is a choice between something elegant (vegan options available) or Paranormal Pizzas ‘special’ ‘fancy’ black and white themed slice (die hard locals may feel a sense of loyalty to pick this option). Three live bands will take center stage through dinner and once the DJ steps up it will be time to boogey in style to a delightful mix that peaks with pop and bass to smooth and mellow melodies to bring groups or couples a little closer.
At the far side of the dance floor and visiting/eating area are three long rows of tables filled with snacks, pretty treats, and safe drinks. A small prop bar takes the tail end and a few signature drinks will be served to those of age. Between these tables is an aisle that is soon shrouded by a black curtain. This is where guests can visit the silent auction in peace, catch up on quiet conversation, or take a group photo in front of five different fancy back drops designed by Sorry Mom Tattoo artists.
And don’t forget: the long awaited poll for Klamenth Falls Best! Winners will be announced this night and given honors before the town, friends and colleagues alike.
Come dressed in your best and ready for a night of mystery! Who knows what unexplored side of your character will come out to play while your face keeps hidden behind a wondrous mask?
OOC: If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask Mod Lea and Blue via the main! REMEMBER to post your character masquerade costumes by Thursday the 27th and tag them under wildstatemasquerade so your muse(s) can be 100% eligible for this voting event we have planned! More information on this voting will be released very soon so be ready to participate so every character gets a shot at some love and recognition by our community~

New Post has been published on https://travelonlinetips.com/help-us-choose-the-best-things-to-do-in-fall/
Help us choose the best things to do in fall
Cast your vote for the nation’s best apple orchards, corn mazes, escape rooms and Halloween attractions
School’s back in session and autumn is fast approaching. Things like fall foliage, corn mazes, the apple harvest and Halloween come to mind. Help us create the ultimate autumn attraction guide by voting for your favorites in nine categories. You can vote once per day in each category until polls close on Tuesday, October 2 at noon ET.
Click on each category below to vote:
Best Apple Orchard
An apple a day keeps the…pumpkin spice latte away? — Photo courtesy of iStock / S847
The first apple orchard in the U.S. was planted in 1625 near Boston’s Beacon Hill. Today, more than 7,500 growers are producing apples in all 50 states (according to the U.S. Apple Association). That’s 240 million bushels of apples each year. Since each individual apple must be handpicked during the autumn harvest season, many orchards open their gates for visitors to come and pick their own, often with added autumn entertainment. Which of these 20 apple orchards is your favorite?
Vote: Best Apple Orchard »
Best Corn Maze
Corn mazes are one of the ultimate autumn activities — Photo courtesy of iStock / emholk
Each autumn, farms across the United States transform their cornfields into interactive mazes, perfect for a fall family outing. There are more than 500 of these mazes across the nation, but 10Best Local Experts and Editors have narrowed it down to 20 of the most exemplary, both for the quality of the maze itself and for the wealth of other activities on offer.
Vote: Best Corn Maze »
Best Destination for Fall Foliage

The kids are back in school, temperatures are starting to drop and Mother Nature’s gearing up for her annual spectacle of fall color. ‘Tis the season for leaf-peeping, and USA TODAY 10Best Local Experts and Editors have selected their 20 favorite destinations.
Vote: Best Destination for Fall Foliage »
Best Escape Room
