The Paperboy kids! At least, the ones you'll be seeing the most: Matthew's class! Together, they're all kind of a hot mess. After all, they're all very different, complex people-- and Special Ed isn't always the happy, safe-haven that it's made out to be!
I can't wait to show off all their shenanigans :]

Lyrics:
Woke up this morning and the streets were full of cars
All bright and shiny like they′d just arrived from Mars
And as I stumbled through last night's drunken debris
The paperboy screamed out the headlines in the street
Another war and now the pound is looking weak
And tell me have you read about the latest freak?
We′re bingo numbers and our names are obsolete
Why do I feel bitter when I should be feeling sweet
Hello, hello turn your radio on
Is there anybody out there?
Help me sing my song
La la la life is a strange thing
Just when you think you learned how to use it
It's gone
Woke up this morning and my head was in a daze
A brave new world has dawned upon the human race
Where words are meaningless and everything's surreal
Gonna have to reach my friends to find out how I feel
And if I taste the honey is it really sweet
And do I eat it with my hands or with my feet?
Does anybody really listen when I speak
Or will I have to say it all again next week
Hello, hello turn your radio on
Is there anybody out there?
Help me sing my song
Hello, hello turn your radio on
Is there anybody out there?
Tell me what went wrong
La la la life is a strange thing
Life is a strange thing
Hello, hello turn your radio on
Is there anybody out there?
Help me sing my song
Hello, hello turn your radio on
Is there anybody out there?
Help me sing my song
La la la life is a strange thing

Some of the first pieces of concept art for Paperboy! Meet Matthew’s class, also known as “Nuccio’s Class” or Class 7-441! (June 2021) There’s more people in this story, but let’s start with them!
- MATTHEW BOSTON is the class art kid, known for being a hard-worker! He is our protagonist and has a number of physical and health issues, although they don’t hinder him on a daily basis.
- ANDREA BELTRAN is Matthew’s partner-in-crime, the feisty (and dyslexic) tomboy of the bunch. Many say she’s an absolute idiot, but not many really get to know her.
- AZA KANAAN’s the loud-mouthed leader of the pack, an absolute agent of chaos! The “H” in ADHD is very prominent with this one.
- LEVI TRAINER is a mean-spirited “popular girl” who manipulates others for the sake of entertainment. Her popularity all comes from a place of fear within the others, especially Matthew, and no one knows what her deal is.
- Meanwhile her twin brother LINUS TRAINER is a pessimist who’s desperate for validation over all else. While he also has ADHD, he and Aza are very different.
- AMELIA PIGNALOSA is a soft-hearted and spineless sweetheart. If she does have any diagnoses, she doesn’t know about them; all she knows is that she tends to lag behind the class academically.
- And then there’s JACK MARINE, the all-star of the bunch... who nobody likes. Despite his stutter, he still manages to be the class bully through getting physical.
- OLIVER HANES’ is an aspiring social media influencer who already thinks he’s king of the world. His dysgraphia plays a role in his love for technology, which lets him convey things without writing.
- WILBUR WATTSON’s the top of the class academically, and a pretty chill loner. While the artwork here is too outdated to display it in his design yet, Wilbur’s blind in one eye.
- RUDY DELAMERCED almost never speaks, but he does sell things like toys and snacks to other kids! While he isn’t exactly deaf, he does wear hearing aids; he just hides them under his hair. (Only one image here depicts this)
- AARAN MUSA (who got a name-change very recently) is the happy-go-lucky type. His only troubles in life are when his Tourette's decides to interfere with his daily tasks.
- last but not least we’ve got KARL HO, a very skilled gamer who doesn’t get enough credit for all he’s worth. He’s a loveable big guy who tends to be underestimated on account of his down syndrome.

David Oyelowo
Tumblr media
David Oyetokunbo Oyelowo ( oh-YEL-ə-woh; born 1 April 1976) is an English actor and producer. His highest-profile role to date was as Martin Luther King Jr. in the 2014 biographical drama film Selma. He also took the lead role in A United Kingdom (2016) as well as playing the role of a chess coach in Queen of Katwe (2016). He has played supporting roles in the films Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Lincoln (2012), Jack Reacher (2012), and garnered praise for portraying Louis Gaines in The Butler (2013). On television, he played MI5 officer Danny Hunter on the British drama series Spooks (2002–2004).
Early life
Oyelowo was born in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, to Nigerian parents. His father is from Oyo State, Western Nigeria while his mother is from Edo State, Southern Nigeria. He was brought up as a Baptist. He grew up in Tooting Bec, south London, until he was six, when his family moved to Lagos, Nigeria, where his father Stephen worked for the national airline and mother for a railway company. David attended a "'military-style' boarding school." They returned to London when Oyelowo was fourteen, settling in Islington.
While enrolled in theatre studies at City and Islington College, his teacher suggested that he become an actor. Oyelowo enrolled for a year in an acting foundation course, at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). He finished his three-year training in 1998. He also spent time with the National Youth Theatre.
Career
Stage
He began his stage career in 1999 when he was offered a season with the Royal Shakespeare Company playing roles in Ben Jonson's Volpone, as the title character in Oroonoko (which he also performed in the BBC radio adaptation) and Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra (1999) alongside Guy Henry, Frances de la Tour and Alan Bates. However, he is best known for his next stage performance as King Henry VI in the Royal Shakespeare Company's 2001 productions of Shakespeare's trilogy of plays about the king as a part of its season This England: The Histories. In a major landmark for colour-blind casting, Oyelowo was the first black actor to play an English king in a major production of Shakespeare, and although this casting choice was initially criticised by some in the media, Oyelowo's performance was critically acclaimed and later won the 2001 Ian Charleson Award for best performance by an actor under 30 in a classical play.
In 2005, he appeared in a production of Prometheus Bound, which was revived in New York City in 2007. In 2006, he made his directorial debut on a production of The White Devil, produced by Inservice, his theatre company in Brighton which is co-run with fellow Brighton-based actors Priyanga Burford, Israel Aduramo, Penelope Cobbuld, and his wife, Jessica. He played the title role in Othello in 2016 at the New York Theatre Workshop with Daniel Craig as Iago, directed by Sam Gold.
Television
Oyelowo is best known for playing MI5 officer Danny Hunter on the British drama series Spooks (known in North America as MI-5) from 2002 to 2004. He had before that appeared in Tomorrow La Scala (2002), Maisie Raine (1998) and Brothers and Sisters (1998). Soon after the end of his time on Spooks Oyelowo made a cameo appearance in the Christmas special of As Time Goes By (2005). In 2006, he appeared in the television film Born Equal alongside Nikki Amuka-Bird as a couple fleeing persecution in Nigeria – they also both appeared in Shoot the Messenger (2006), and in The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (2008) as a husband and wife. Other cameos have included Mayo (guest-starring on 30 April 2006) and the television film Sweet Nothing in My Ear (2008, as defence attorney Leonard Grisham), while he has played recurring or main characters on Five Days (2007) and The Passion (2008, as Joseph of Arimathea).
In December 2009, he played the leading role of Gilbert in the BBC TV adaptation of Andrea Levy's novel Small Island. In March 2010, he played the role of Keme Tobodo in the BBC's drama series Blood and Oil.
He starred in the HBO original film Nightingale (2014).
Voice acting
He appeared as Olaudah Equiano in Grace Unshackled – The Olaudah Equiano Story, a radio play adapting Equiano's autobiography, The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano. This was first broadcast on BBC 7 on 8 April 2007, with his wife Jessica Oyelowo as Mrs. Equiano.
In 2007, Oyelowo was the reader for John le Carré's The Mission Song. AudioFile magazine stated: "Think of David Oyelowo as a single musician playing all the instruments in a symphony. That is essentially what he manages in this inspired performance of John le Carré's suspense novel.... Can it really have been only one man in the narrator's recording booth? This virtuoso performance makes that seem impossible." In 2015, he was selected to portray James Bond in Trigger Mortis, written by Anthony Horowitz.
As of 2014, he provides the voice of Imperial Security Bureau agent Alexsandr Kallus on the animated series Star Wars Rebels.
As of 2017, Oyelowo voices the spirit of Scar, the main antagonist in season 2 of The Lion Guard.
Oyelowo is set to voice the Tiger in a television adaptation of The Tiger Who Came to Tea which will air on Channel 4 for Christmas 2019.
Film
In 2012, Oyelowo appeared in Middle of Nowhere. Writer-director Ava DuVernay had been a fan of his work and had considered asking him to take the role, however before she could, Oyelowo received the script coincidentally from a friend of a friend of DuVernay's who happened to be sitting next to him on the plane and was considering investing in the project. The film premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival to critical raves. That same year Oyelowo appeared in Lee Daniels' The Paperboy, which competed for the Palme d'Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Oyelowo reunited with Daniels the following year in The Butler.
In 2014, Oyelowo formed his own independent production company, Yoruba Saxon Productions which has co-produced movies that featured him including, Nightingale, Captive, Five Nights in Maine, and most recently, A United Kingdom.
He worked with his Middle of Nowhere director Ava DuVernay again for Selma (2014), playing civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. The film, based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches, had originally been set to be directed by Lee Daniels, but the project was dropped by Daniels so he could focus on The Butler.
He is slated to star with Lupita Nyong'o in a film adaptation of the Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie novel Americanah. The story follows a pair of young Nigerian immigrants who face a lifetime of struggle while their relationship endures.
In February 2019, it was announced that Oyelowo had joined the Peter Rabbit cast with James Corden, Rose Byrne and Domhnall Gleeson reprising their roles as the title character, Bea and Thomas McGregor for its sequel due to be released in April 2020.
Awards and honours
For his portrayal of Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma, Oyelowo received the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture. He received his first Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, while also receiving a nomination for Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Actor.
Also in 2014, for his performance in Nightingale, he won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Movie/Miniseries and was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie, Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film, NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special and a Satellite Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film.
Oyelowo was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2016 New Year Honours for services to drama.
Personal life
He is married to actress Jessica Oyelowo, with whom he has four children. They live in Los Angeles, California.
A devout Christian, Oyelowo has stated that he believes God called him to play Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Reflecting on his portrayal of King in the film Selma, Oyelowo has asserted that "I always knew that in order to play Dr. King, I had to have God flow through me because when you see Dr. King giving those speeches, you see that he is moving in his anointing."
Oyelowo and his wife became naturalized US citizens on July 20, 2016.
Oyelowo is an omoba (or prince) of the kingdom of Awe, Nigeria, a part of the Nigerian chieftaincy system. He commented, "it was useful for getting dates but probably not much else".

🦋 what frightens your character? Truthfully, the only thing that profoundly frightens Noah is herself. She’s self-destructive, and undeniably the architect of her own defeat. Her sporadic reckless behavior and mental instability linger over her like a storm cloud, pressuring her every moment, of every day, foreshadowing a psychological outburst. 🦋 what was your character's childhood like?
A product of an affluent family, Noah grew up alongside her brother, Levi, who was two years her senior. Their father, Nate, was, and continues to serve as an influential congressman, representing the state of New York. Their mother, Lily, was a renowned model prior to death, the woman succumbing to cancer when Noah was only fourteen-years-old. Primarily, Noah and Levi were raised by their nanny, Anna. A very well-of, educated and experienced woman from Spain, the same country her dad was born and raised, not only took care of, but also schooled Noah and her brother. Her father was an alcoholic as well as workaholic, and her mom was preoccupied more often than not, both absent parents to say the least. The bond that formed between Noah and Anna defied the concept of “blood is thicker than water,” as Noah found herself connected to Anna on a deeper level, compared to either parent.
Furthermore, after her mother died, Noah spiraled downward. The young, naive, impressionable girl was tempted with a white powdery substance, otherwise known as cocaine, and quickly became dependent on it, earning her the nickname snow bunny. A handful of years later, her father, Nate, was diagnosed with kidney disease, a direct consequence of his excessive alcohol usage in combination with uncontrolled high blood pressure, the man negligent at best. Subsequently, Noah felt compelled to get tested, the girl eager to help her father, despite the fact that he had always been an absent parent. Immediately thereafter, she was tested. Unfortunately, when the results returned, she wasn’t a match, at which point she discovered that Nate Díaz wasn’t her biological father, igniting her search for her “sperm donor,” ultimately leading her to Sloane, Massachusetts. 🦋 what kind of music does your character like? Noah will listen to ANY type of music, regardless of genre, as long as it’s pleasant on the ears, and meaningful in the lyrics, there’s no doubt about it. Lately, however, she’s been binging Noah Cyrus, A Day To Remember, NF, Lennon Stella as well as Dan + Shay, proving to be quite the blend. She’s a firm believer that the power of music is unparalleled, and would be more than eager to exchange playlists with anyone interested. 🦋 quickest way to anger your character? Truth be told, Noah is quick-tempered, and although she’s been working to maintain her composure, opposed to popping off, there are countless ways to ignite her fuse. Intolerance, ignorance, and indecency, which includes, but is not limited to, sexual exploitation as well as women berating and belittling women, to name a few. Intolerance is not current, ignorance is not bliss, and indecency is not cool. And she has absolutely zero issue defending herself as well as those unable to defend themselves as needed. For Noah, in a world where you can be ANYTHING, she believes that we should all be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody, regardless of their differences, as diversity is what makes our world beautiful. A world in which we all looked, thought, and spoke alike would be an unfortunate, unoriginal, and unappealing world. 🦋 what seemingly insignificant memories stuck with your character? It was a hot, humid summer evening when Noah remained settled on the living room floor, cross-legged, as Anna braided her hair, while Levi played Paperboy on his SEGA console, the boy groveling each time he failed the current level, causing Noah to giggle and squirm, which ultimately resulted in Anna teasing her about how if she didn’t sit still, she would like Cruella de Vil compared to Belle instead. An endless uproar of laughter ensuing thererafter. 🦋 who does your character consider a role model? Regarding a role model, Noah has two, the first, being Anna, her childhood nanny and caretaking, the woman a mother-figure to her. The other, being Levi, her older brother and best friend, the one who was there with her through it all. Unfortunately, once Anna’s services were no longer required, she was reassigned to another family. This particular family was located in Spain, and the distance placed a strain on her relationship with the woman, both forced to carry on with their lives, although staying in touch sporadically from then until now. Levi... Well, the demons he battled during his war within convinced him that the world would be better off without him in it. They were wrong, but that didn’t stop him from creating a plan to end his life, executing it without hesitation and successfully so four months prior. 🦋 what's a memory your character wish they could erase? Wowza. There are COUNTLESS memories in which Noah would eagerly deposit in the trash canister. However, there was one moment that stood out amongst the rest. It was the night her brother approached her in a drunken stupor, retrieved his .22 caliber pistol, and positioned it beneath his chin, only to activate the trigger soon after, leaving her no time to prevent it.

The Big Issue: 'Les Misérables' star David Oyelowo reveals an epic, sweeping drama
Victor Hugo's epic of love, loss and smashing the system is set to explode on to our screens as the first big event TV of 2019. David Oyelowo tells us why BBC's Les Misérables doesn't need to make a song and dance to be a hit
David Oyelowo is a proper movie star these days.
A power player in Hollywood who can make big film projects happen. A respected actor who now also produces around 80 per cent of the films and television series he stars in. And a changemaker with friends and collaborators in very high places, not least media giant Oprah Winfrey – “like a mother to me, but also a mentor” – who is actively reshaping the movie industry from within.
And he is starting off 2019 with a flourish. For the first time since 2009’s role in the stunning adaptation of Andrea Levy’s Small Island, Oyelowo is back on the BBC in a major drama, their non-singing, non-dancing adaptation of Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables.
It offers a reminder of the 42-year-old’s immense talent: Oyelowo is quite brilliant as Javert, the tenacious jailer hot on the heels of Dominic West’s prisoner-turned-mayor Jean Valjean, finding something heroic in the antagonist of the piece during their epic 19th-century game of  cat-and-mouse.
“It is what the BBC does best, this kind of epic, sweeping period drama that feels very resonant to the times we are in because of how Hugo captured the politics, the revolution, the humanity, the sex, the religion, the notion of forgiveness and redemption and evil and good,” he says. “All that we are is in this piece.”
Javert in Andrew Davies’s six-part adaptation is a world from Russell Crowe’s depiction in the 2012 musical film. Oyelowo explains that whereas fitting this extraordinary story – and all the songs – into just over two-and-a-half-hours for the movie meant painting in “broad brushstrokes” and “primary colours”, the series allows more context, more nuance, more depth and dimension.
Screenwriter Davies has added a sexual frisson as well. “We really muddy it up. I wasn’t interested in playing a villain,” says Oyelowo. “It would get very dull if I was twirling my moustache and constantly doing something dastardly for six hours. I don’t think that would be paying homage to the levels of humanity that Victor Hugo manages to get into this novel.
“And Javert is always played posh, which is incredibly lazy. Because he is not. As Hugo clearly states, he was born in a prison, he is working class, he is a prison guard.”
The man is so alone we don’t see any level of human contact that even hints at an ability to connect
And the repressed sexuality that Davies teases us about at the screening? “It is in there, but not something we dwell on. The man is so alone we don’t see any level of human contact that even hints at an ability to connect. Javert can come across as asexual, because he is so consumed by his desire to combat what he deems to be criminality. It is what he has dedicated his life to.
“Javert doesn’t have the luxury to legislate what is right or wrong. You steal a loaf of bread, you go to jail.
“Now, should Jean Valjean be there for 19 years? I would argue not. But considering his upbringing, there is something admirable about a man who decides to fight for the law.
“My hope is that people will not necessarily empathise, but they may find just a few minutes within the six hours where they sympathise with who Javert is and what he does.”
In the intervening decade since Small Island, Oyelowo moved to LA, become a US citizen and appeared in films including Lincoln, The Paperboy, The Butler and Jack Reacher.
Then came his performance as Martin Luther King Jr in Ava DuVernay’s Selma for which he won plaudits galore but, mystifyingly, was snubbed at the Oscars. He expresses no bitterness about it, but he does admit that he finds it “very nice to be back on the Beeb, and with a show I am really proud of”.
The story is set two decades after the French Revolution, by which time the promise of liberté, égalité, fraternité was already turning to merde. The extremes of wealth and poverty had only become starker. Paris was burning. And people like Jean Valjean were criminalised simply for being poor.
“The revolution was born out of the haves and have nots being such extremes. But the unrest that caused the revolution continued to burn under the surface,” says Oyelowo. “And if you look at the protests and marches and disquiet we are seeing, both in America where I live and here, the women’s marches, marches for gun control, against terrorism, against war, against Brexit, against Trump, there are people on the streets of France as we speak. You can transpose a lot of the unrest now onto what was going on then.
“It is the criminalisation and marginalisation of the poor and of minorities. It is the abuse of power.”
What does it take to bring Oyelowo onto the street, protesting? “Racial inequalities and any kind of marginalisation of people on the basis of who and what they are. Although,” he adds, “I try to be a doer not a talker. So there are causes I fight for in ways I don’t need to beat the drum about. It is all about trying to effect real change. Especially as I have been afforded a certain platform that means I can do that.
My attitude is that I would rather put a little drop in the ocean of the problem than sit back and cry over how vast this ocean is.
Oyelowo is not, he says, an avid reader, but devoured Hugo’s mighty novel in its entirety. Given the times we are living through, the love and idealism, hope and redemption described could be pretty useful.
“They are not only useful, they are absolute necessities,” says Oyelowo. “They are the core of who we actually are. When you look at Jean Valjean, at Cosette, at Fantine, who have such a goodness about them, they are the pinprick of light in the darkness. I think that is why the story is so enduring.”
I wonder the degree to which his politics inform the roles he takes and the projects he produces. “My politics is very much informed by my morality, my spirituality,” he says. “So the way I live, the way I vote, the work I do is all born out of my faith as well. You know, love God, love one another. It is as simple as that. The gospel is boiled down to that.”
Or, as it says in Les Misérables, “To love another person is to see the face of God”?
“Exactly, And that really, is why I wanted to do it. The journey Jean Valjean goes on is so biblical, I think it is a deeply spiritual piece.”
Les Misérables starts on BBC One on 9pm on December 30 (x)

Estilo pé no chão!

Madylan Hatter looked like your everyday normal girl next door with short brown hair and blue eyes. She is of average height standing at about five feet but she never lets her height determine her bigness. Though she looks normal on the outside on the inside is a fully different story, in fact she’s quite mad inside. All the people of her world are after all. As the daughter of Maddox Hatter she was quite well versed in the art of being mad. Their family seemed to have it down to a science after all.
Her mother had been a wandering Magician who couldn’t handle having a child who was half-Underlandian. Even at a young age it was quite evident that she was beyond strange in her habits. Including the odd proclivity for stopping any task for tea time. She becomes quite agitated when tea time is interrupted and can become very violent in such situations. Maddie never saw her mother again after she left her with her father when she was but a young girl.
Underland is quite a bloody place, hardly like the Wonderland of the story. It wasn’t easy growing up a child in that world with wars constantly being waged by the inhabitants. However, Madylan is her mothers child too and when she was old enough she too began walking between worlds. When she first started doing it, it was because she was bored and wanted to switch things up. On her little trips between worlds she found a large love of books that she started collecting mountains of books.
Soon she had so many books that she had to move out of her fathers small home to a large nearby run down old library that she turned into her home. With a lot of hard work and plenty of tea she turned the run down old building into her home filling it from top to bottom with books. Books on every subject but she especially sought out books on magic teaching herself the limits of her abilities. Maddie is even strange by Underland standards and that’s saying something as everyone in Underland is quite mad themselves.
She loved all of her friends and family in Underland but Underland just wasn’t enough for her anymore she wanted to go out into the worlds and really travel and make friends with new people. So she decided to live in Underland but find a job in a tea shop or cafe somewhere where she could meet people. Dressed in clothes of her own making, a cotton and leather corset, leather pants and matching leather boots, a green suede jacket, and a brown leather paperboy cap that was the first real hat she ever made with her own two hands. She is quite fond of it as well and wears it with everything. Most of her clothes are made of brown leather anyways so it always fits.
Stepping out of the rippling surface of a window onto main street in the capital city of Reverie, Solaris. The streets were busy and no one seemed to take notice of her stepping out of the reflective surface of the window. Smiling brightly as usual Madylan made her way wandering around the city until she ended up in uptown Solaris and found a small cafe named Sakura had a help wanted sign in the window.
Of course she had to go right in and speak to the proprietor who was a nice fellow by the name of Zander. His last name was Hanji but it was apparently the name everyone uses to refer to his twin sister by. Despite being mad she was quite the baker and picked up Zander’s recipes easily and she even taught him how to properly brew different teas and how to tell how long each tea should be brewed for by their properties. Different teas had different time lengths then there were the preferences of the customers to take into account.
The two got on so well that he hired her right on the spot and she started making tea and cakes to go together. They became so popular that business started picking up so much that they were busy for the next four days straight and it didn’t seem like it would be letting up any time soon. In fact they were so busy that Zander was bogged down with work in the kitchen making all the orders of food that had come in. He told her however should a male by the name of Eren Jaeger were to come in to bring him to him immediately no matter how many people were out front.
Maddie had no problem with that and was fully prepared to greet him with tea and cakes upon his arrival before she ushers him to Zander. There is always time for tea after all. Maddie moved with ease carrying large trays ladened down with food and drinks as if it were no big deal. Never a drop did she spill as she moved about serving everyone as soon as their orders came up.
As soon as Eren showed up and asked for Zander she smiled brightly at him and greeted him introducing herself and leading the way back into the kitchen where Zander was cooking about twelve different things at once without burning a single thing. Maddie right away set up a table and chair for Eren and pouring him the tea that she had set out on the table with different cakes and snacks for him to enjoy with the tea.
“Enjoy your tea! I’ll make sure you’ll have more whenever you need it sweetie!”
She said cheerfully before leaving Zander with his guest to go finish tending the rest of the customers. Zander had greeted Eren when Maddie brought him in set his small table up in the center of the kitchen since it wasn’t in Zander’s way while cooking.
“Sorry I couldn’t greet you personally when you arrived. Ever since I hired Maddie I’ve been swamped with customers everyday. So I was told that you need to get to Llyn Village in the North quietly. Levi said that you may have stuff you need to be delivered to the Inner Palace, do you?”
He asked with a cheerful smile as he finished plating seven of the twelve dishes he had been working on before putting them at the window and ringing the bell for Maddie. For being a little off in the head she was great at remembering who ordered what without him having to remind her. She was also wonderful at keeping loud customers in check.
“Have you ever been to Llyn Village before?”
Zander asked curiously because he had grown up in the village with Levi and the others when they were younger and Eren definitely seemed like the type of person he’d remember. He wondered how Levi even met him but he genuinely seemed to be infatuated with him though he told him not to tell Erwin a damn thing and to tell Petra to keep her mouth shut too. It had been Petra that had pointed out to him that whoever Levi was having come to Zander was obviously someone who has captured the Dragon King’s heart.
He obviously wouldn’t pry by asking how the two of them met but that didn’t stop him from being curious none the less. Llyn Village is a very small village on the Northern border of Reverie and Eren would probably arrive close to noon by the time he arrives once his ride shows up. He had a delivery man who makes regular trips up to Llyn Village for him to take supplies up to Prescillia at King’s Tavern Inn and returns with the ingredients she has waiting for him. It is the largest business in Llyn Village and aside from farming it was the highest income maker in the entire village.

Are there any characters with Down Syndrome in Paperboy?
Yes, one of Matthew's classmates! One of my favorites, actually :]
(UPDATE: 09/06/2023 -- Here's a picture of him!)
Tumblr media
He's a very friendly Asian boy named Karl Ho & is mainly into video games. Last time I posted art of him on the IG was December 4th!
I don't want to spoil too much, but I'll tell you a little more about him!
Karl is very friendly, silly, social, but calm. He's always down to make a new friend and spends a lot of his time either watching cartoons, or gaming with friends. Half the time he wears pajamas to school... just because he can. He's always looking for fun, and as of late, he seems to get along better with younger kids, because they're less judgmental & (sometimes) they have more in common. But of course, his two BEST friends (Aaran & Rudy) are indeed his age & all in the same class with him and Matthew. He tends to stay in this trio more often than not & is rarely spotted without them.
Like stated above, Karl has Down Syndrome (+ intellectual disability as well,) so this causes people to act... "weirdly" towards him.
Strangers see his face & whisper to each other. Adults at school talk down to him like a baby; and while no one in class has the audacity to bully him outright, sometimes certain classmates tend to write Karl off / "forget" about him because they think he can't understand things, like the drama that goes on between kids. Especially now that they're in middle school, as social dynamics are becoming more complicated & a lot of kids' interests are moving on to more "mature" things, meanwhile they see him as very childish. (For example, one of the other kids, Levi, is big into scary things like Creepypasta & horror.)
So of course, Karl tends to be out of the loop more often than not. He considers almost all his peers as his friend, but only really has the two good ones.
Karl is actually fairly perceptive though, & almost ALWAYS notices when this happens. And he doesn't like it very much, but he stays quiet, pretends like he didn't see or hear a thing, because he actually isn't sure how he wants to handle it yet. He doesn't like being seen as a baby-- he's the biggest kid in this class! Aaran in particular is always the first to remind people of that.
And not only that, but he isn't all innocent, either: he's not always happy, he makes mistakes, he can bad words just like the other kids, and sometimes he follows the crowd when he shouldn't, just for the sake of feeling included. Plus... he's actually the most girl-crazy one out of the boys, lol. Little man definitely wants to find a girlfriend.
He's not just simple & sweet-- he's competitive in games, kind, a mini hopeless-romantic, not the best at speaking up, and always good company. Albeit a little dorky.
And Karl knows why people do this, but at the same time, he doesn't get it & wishes they wouldn't. It's not fair. And hopefully one day, he'll start to actually voice that himself.
...
As for him & Matthew-- they get along pretty well! Matthew tries not to talk to him about personal issues, though; Matthew doesn't think they're close enough for that yet.
I can definitely see Karl spamming him over Discord to play Among Us or something on a Sunday night, & Matthew VERY enthusiastically joining, lol.
