AN ODE TO SUMMER

As summer rolls around the corner, the council has decided to host a formal event inspired by the hit Netflix series Bridgerton to celebrate. Join us in the ballroom and castle grounds for music, games, food and drinks, and sophistication.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!

DRESS CODE

The dress code for this event is Bridgerton or Regency Era-inspired fashion. That means breeches, dress shirts, waist and tailcoats or corset gowns or Empire waistline dresses. While the clothing does not need to be 100% historically accurate, it should be close enough to note the source inspiration.

Masters, staff members, and villagers all have the luxury of choosing their own outfits for this event. Claimed and purchased slaves should rely on their masters to supply them with whatever they prefer for their claims so long as it abides by the dress code. Unclaimed slaves will have attire chosen for them by the castle (players will choose these outfits themselves from the castle).

Event outfits should NOT be posted before our event starts.

Our Bridgerton ball event will start at 12PM EST on Monday, June 9th and run until June 16th. More details will be posted at the start of our event next week.

“The longest hours you’ll have in your life are the ones you sit through to know if you’re right.”

Cyril’s fate was set in stone from the start. He was born from the coupling of two slaves owned by his master, all with the intent of making and molding his own personal pet. He was ripped from the arms of his mother as soon as the cord was cut, and to his parents' misfortune, they both were killed mercilessly right in front of their newborn. They were no longer needed in his master’s mind, not when he now had Cyril. Just extra mouths to feed, unneeded attention when it was obvious this child would need all his time and effort to make him perfect.

Cyril grew, and to his master, he seemed obedient, the perfect slave, but the stories he was told by the slaves he still had turned his mind sour towards the undead man. With age came his attitude, his opinions, his defiance. Every act that didn’t appeal to him ended with more scars littering Cyril’s skin, yet he didn’t quit. Many times the threat of death just like his parents was thrown at him, but that old vampire had an attachment to Cyril, he could never go through with it, and in the end, that would be his demise. Cyril wasn’t going to accept his fate.

It took planning, years upon years of strength building disguised as wanting to impress his master, and hours of strategies and ideas all locked in his head. He never dared share a word, but the others could see something turning the gears in his head. In the years leading up to his final act, he turned sweet, obedient, and oh did it please that bastard. He thought he had finally broken him, and yet it was just another step closer. He had convinced him to put it in writing, that his slaves would be free in the case of his sudden and tragic death. He told him he’d hate to feel the touch of anyone else, would hate to be owned by another, which all in all wasn’t exactly a lie. After the abuse, Cyril was imagining a life of peace, of being the owner of his own body and mind. He’d get it, or he’d die trying.

The fateful night he finally freed himself will always be one he remembers vividly. He had planned it perfectly. His master took his body, and after he just laid next to him. It was a routine he was used to now, the only difference was the wooden stake tucked under the mattress and the butcher knife calling his name in the nightstand. All it took was one quick movement. His fingers wrapped around the wood which felt like it was burning from the adrenaline coursing through his veins, and he whipped his arm around, landing the stake straight into his heart with an accuracy that took years to instill in himself. He yelled, he groaned, and he died, temporarily at least. He snatched open the drawer and moved to straddle the bastard one last time. His head came off more easily than he expected, though it had something to do with almost forty years of pent-up anger and other emotions. It was done. He was free.

Rumors flew quickly, and yet there was nothing they could do. His master’s letter had been made official, and per his wishes, Cyril and everyone else he owned were now free to live their own lives, if they could manage to steer clear of hunters. For a while, Cyril wasn’t sure what to do with himself. The weight of a life full of endless abuse was heavy on his shoulders, and without really thinking about it, he found himself moving into Krovs Town. Anyone would think he was crazy, and yet for him, he found it made the most sense. He was struggling with his sense of self without vampires, and this was the closest to a life of solitude without making himself crazy and his heats unbearable. A new chapter, a new him. So, he set up for what he did best, utilizing his strength. He changed his name to the one he was told his parents had intended to give him, obtained a job as a bouncer at Euphoria, and planned to start a new life, completely erasing the existence of his still-fresh past.

Biography:

Inez is Briar’s long term partner and fiance, they first met in a market in Briar’s hometown in France where Briar was helping an old lady carry her groceries. Inez offered to help as well, using it as an excuse to talk to him. They became really close friends almost immediately.

Briar’s parents did not like Inez. So much so that they were going to find a way to convince Briar to leave him alone when they realized their son was falling in love. Inez, having overheard a conversation while at Briar’s house, made sure that wouldn’t happen, as he knew Briar held his parents' opinion above anything else. Inez is the reason Briar’s parents were murdered. He could’ve: done it himself, or, hired/asked a friend or someone to do it for him. Maybe he had some people who owed him favors, get creative!

After his parents’ death, Inez took Briar in and offered him a home. Briar didn’t really have anyone else, as the rest of his family had remained in the fae realm after the second war. Truly, he took advantage of Briar’s vulnerable state and eventually they ended up in a relationship.

They’ve been together for about fifty years, Inez proposed around the forty-fifth year mark at Briar’s request that they wait awhile since he was still considered quite young for fae.

Inez is absolutely obsessed with Briar. He does in his own weird way love him very much, but his childhood (up to player, but pretty bad) and own personal traumas make him a very bad partner. He has cheated before, he is controlling, yells, and there’s multiple holes in their walls from him that Briar lovingly covered with pictures. Even then, he takes care of Briar financially, making sure he doesn’t have to work ever, spoils him with gifts after every fight, and is very affectionate when his past isn’t getting in the way. 

Inez is an artist at heart, though most of his art is dark and twisted in some way. He loves keeping things that remind him of the people close to him, and his interests are something he could go on about for hours. Something Briar adores about him is his interest in space, something they have in common.

Briar is in complete denial about how toxic their relationship is, even though pretty much everyone else can see it clearly. He is sure that with time Inez will change, though honestly it’s been fifty years how much longer is he willing to wait?

The whole reason Briar was brought to Krovs is because of Inez! Inez had some growing debts that he was completely ignoring (up to player as well, could be money related, could be deals with vampires, who knows!), and because of this he was tracked down and Briar was taken as payment. Inez could be coming to attempt a rescue of his beloved, maybe he was also put in Krovs as punishment, i’m pretty open so feel free to message me!
