MASTER/STAFF APPLICATION SEMI-BANS
Given that we've received more slave characters, we've decided to change the status of master and staff characters from fully banned to SEMI-BANNED. What this means is that for every two (2) slave or villager characters accepted we will accept one (1) master or staff character as well.
That being said, all versatility options have been reopened for all role applications as well.
The goal is to still receive more slave and villager characters that'll stick and we're getting closer to reaching it. Current players and any potential new members are welcome to submit applications for master or staff characters at any time during this ban and they'll be held in the inbox for however long is needed. Please note that these non-slave apps will be accepted in the order they were received as we get more slaves to accept with them, so they might be held for a while. The admin will communicate with members when their apps will be accepted.
Feel free to reach out if there are any questions! This post will remain pinned on our page until bans have been ended.
Players, please LIKE this post so we know it has been read.

Enrico Neptunus Balestra | Slave | 31 | Kresnik (Kindness) | Bottom
"So have you ever been caught in a sea of despair? And your moment of truth is the day you say 'I'm not scared'? So put your hands in the air, if you hear me out there, I've been looking for you day and night? Shine a light in the dark, let me see where you are, 'cause I'm not gonna leave you behind!"
Domestic violence, child abuse tw
Enrico was born a few miles outside of Rome on a warm spring morning in April. His father, Jupiter, watched his wife Juno give birth to him with a contemptuous smile on his face. The man, born as Raffaele Balestra, descended from a long and powerful line of dark witches that fell in disgrace after they pledged their allegiance to the faes in the Great War. Councilman De Luca made sure to punish that choice in perpetuity: Raffaele’s eldest brother, Cesare, was brought to Krovs a few days after his twenty-first birthday as a slave. He died a few weeks after his departure, and Raffaele swore that he would make sure that no one, not even De Luca, could bring such a dishonor to his name anymore. He amassed vast amounts of grimoires and magical artifacts, hoping to find a way to become powerful enough to avenge his brother. He called upon the names of countless eldritch gods until one answered. She introduced herself as Hekate, the mistress of darkness, death, and magic. They struck a deal: she would grant him the power and the knowledge necessary to lead a coven as mighty as the old Olympian gods, and he would perform a ritual to bring Hekate back to the earthly realm. Raffaele renamed himself Jupiter, immediately using the power and influence gifted to him by the goddess to recruit suitable witches into his coven. They were misfits and rejects in the aftermath of the absolute victory of the vampires, vulnerable to falling prey to his charismatic promises of immortal glory and infinite power. The girl that would become Juno, Jupiter’s wife, was the daughter of one of those witches. As soon as the anointed king of the gods established his new coven’s grounds on his old family property, he claimed the beautiful girl as his own sister-bride, conceiving three back-to-back daughters with her: Venus, Ceres, and Minerva. Juno was sensing his husband getting more and more impatient after each childbirth. He wanted a male heir, someone who could support him in his quest to serve Hekate and achieve the full godhood she promised him. Afraid for her life, she secretly prayed to God, the one she was forced to publicly swear off when she was coerced into that cursed coven, for grace. He didn’t answer, but a young celestial did: Amara. The young angelic being couldn’t help but feel compassion for the suffering of that soul in peril, so she manifested to Juno while she was alone in the woods, and after a brief conversation where Amara was able to feel the depth of Juno’s faith and the purity of her plea, she granted her new friend her miracle. It was only a few weeks later that Juno found out she was pregnant.
And that’s how Enrico’s history began: born in a loveless marriage, son of a man whose ambition was far more important than his humanity and a woman who was forced to resort to lying to survive. His childhood was relatively normal, were you to ask him, but it was anything but for a few key reasons. First of all, Jupiter’s coven—officially named the Olympos Coven—was totally shut off from the outside world, both socially and physically. They lived in a sort of commune, where everyone had to do their part in pursuit of the higher purpose the leader had chosen for them. A few months after Enrico’s birth, the borders of the grounds were sealed with magical barriers to keep the outsiders out. That was Jupiter’s claim, at the very least: the man was far more interested in keeping his subjects trapped than protecting them. Without any sort of social, cultural, or technological input, Jupiter’s sermons about serving Hekate to be rewarded with her holy power became the law. There was no in-between: one could either comply with their charismatic leader’s will or face his wrath.
A second critical point was his father's decision to appoint his newborn son as his “most fearsome brother”: he determined that the child was going to be the embodiment of Neptunus, the fearsome god of the sea, bringer of storms and quakes, destined to be able to conceive and summon terrifying armies of monsters, like his mythological namesake—who fathered all sorts of giants, daimones, fearsome hybrids, and bloodthirsty killers—could. Jupiter gave his new brother-son the role of future general of Hekate’s army, destined to plunge the world into the embrace of eternal night.
Weren’t Jupiter so convinced about his divine ability to be always correct, he would have rather soon realized that Enrico—or Neptunus, as his father called him—was absolutely not the man for the job. He was a delicate and sensitive boy, both physically and mentally, more interested in getting to know the needs of those around him to help them rather than waging war on the entire world. Jupiter beat him almost every day for being such a disappointment, and if that’s all he did, the child had to consider himself lucky: his father’s punishments included starvation, flagellation, and tying his eight-year-old son to a tree for the entirety of a cold, wintery night. Juno tried to help, but the years of abuse were starting to break her spirit too. She never outright challenged her husband’s wrath, but she was still the only comforting presence in the young witch’s life. She taught him how to behave, how to speak, and how to move his body in the way his father expected. Little Neptunus became stronger, more resilient, but not even that armor could suppress the innate kindness of his heart. He became kind of a leader amongst the youngest generation of Olympians, calmly but firmly sedating any bullying and conflicts rising between them, exploiting his father’s authority to protect the weakest members of the coven. That obviously didn’t earn him any sympathy from most of his peers: growing up, his only friend was Ouranos, a blond, lanky kid with a natural aptitude for getting himself in trouble, with his snarky remarks and his fiery personality. Despite their differences, the two became fast friends, quickly turning into each other’s most trusted companion in that hard life that was thrust upon them. Neptunus’ newfound assertiveness also managed to slightly quell Jupiter’s disdain for his son: finally, he was showing some potential to be worthy of his mission. His early teenage years were the happiest—or, at least, the most tranquil—of his life. He had a friend, and he was finally starting to think that his father might actually, one day, love him.
Everything fell apart a few weeks before his fourteenth birthday, when his latent magic finally awakened. As soon as he absent-mindedly lit a candle with a silvery blue flame simply by wishing there could be more light in his house, so that he could read his classic mythology book—one of the only texts that Jupiter permitted to circulate in the coven—he heard his mother scream in terror. He immediately realized that there was something wrong with him, since fire was not supposed to look that way, and for the first time in his life he was truly scared. What did it mean? Would his father accept it? Luckily he wasn’t at home in that moment, but he was bound to find out. The kid asked his mother for answers, ones she claimed she didn’t have, but his instincts knew that she was lying. That night, she brought him to the most secluded part of the woods around the common, close to the border his father had always forbidden him to even get close to, and she asked him to pray with her. He didn’t know what exactly he was supposed to be praying to, but luckily Amara had constantly been watching over her old friend and the child that the latter had so desperately wished for. Neptunus’ confusion quickly melted away when the blonde woman—she looked barely older than a girl, really—smiled at him, with a warmth and a concern the child had never known in his life. Her mother started barraging her with questions, ones that Amara answered openly.
Neptunus learned of the miracle that brought him into existence. A miracle granted by a kind angel, who had shown kindness and compassion to his mother. So much so, in fact, that Juno’s wish became Amara’s too, causing an unforeseen side effect: the transference of a minuscule part of her celestial power to the unborn witch child. That luminous seed had blossomed with time, turning Neptunus (or Ric, as Amara called him, “since his first name is Enrico and we should refer to him as such”) into a full-fledged Kresnik, a powerful and rare creature that was clearly not supposed to live as Jupiter intended. The young man looked at his mother, terrified of her reaction, but she gave him the smallest and yet encouraging smile. On some level, she had always known her son was different. Special, even. Without hesitating, she asked her guardian to take her son away. To nurture him, protect him, and let him blossom into the beautiful person he was supposed to be, in the way she had never been able to.
Unfortunately, not even the celestial was powerful enough to destroy the wards that separated the Olympos Coven from the rest of the world; all she could do was teach Juno how to hide the Ric’s angelic side with a spell until the right moment to take them both to safety came. So that’s exactly what they did: they kept as low of a profile as possible while covertly working on an escape plan. The kid started to learn the ropes of neutral magic—a necessary step, according to Jupiter himself, before refining his skills and specializing in dark magic—and did whatever it took to hide his secret from everyone. He was sure Ouranos realized that something was up with him, but he never questioned him about it. He just stayed by his side unconditionally, and Neptunus was incredibly grateful for that. Periodically, when Jupiter was too busy studying his cursed tomes and crafting the ritual to summon his goddess to pay attention to his family, the Kresnik would sneak out of the house to get to the spot where he first met Amara. He would always find her there. She became his friend, his confidant, his window to the outside world. Amara would talk to him about history, art, poetry, and every other beautiful thing he had never had the chance to know. One day, she even managed to slide through the barrier what would become his most loved possession: a violin. Enrico—it felt so strange being addressed by his first name, at first, but soon he realized how much more at ease he felt by using it—was eager to be taught how to play it, and when he became proficient, he would make music with Amara for hours before hiding it under a carpet of leaves inside a disused well.
She also helped him find a new purpose in life, and ironically, it had always been hidden in the name his father had thrust upon him. According to the Celestial, astrologists believed Neptune was the planet of psychic intuition, spirituality, and universal love; an infinite ocean that embraced all things, no matter how small, shielding and protecting them from those who wished them harm.
Almost seventeen years went by like this: hiding his nature in front of his coven and behaving like the stoic yet obedient son that his father wanted, longing for the moments where he could be himself with Amara, who became like a second mom to him. The more he grew up, the more he realized that his coven was, in fact, a cult run by Jupiter with an iron fist, one he became more and more desperate to run away from. Sometimes Juno would join him in his meetings with Amara. On those occasions, they would plan their eventual escape. They determined that the best chance to do it was when Jupiter finally managed to summon his goddess. After a rite of that magnitude, his mana would be so depleted that his mighty shield was bound to falter, and the coven would be so busy with honoring and celebrating their mistress that they could have easily slipped away. When that fateful night finally came, everything went to hell.
The whole coven was reunited in a circle around a bonfire chanting their spell, a cloud of ominous smoke gathering over their head. They each took their turn slashing the palm of their hand and letting their blood spill into the fire, just like Jupiter had ordered them to do. But as soon as Enrico’s blood touched the flame, a deafening screech filled the air. He looked up, seeing that cloud of smoke condensing into a nonsensical, writhing mass of teeth, jaws, and legs. That monster was Hekate’s true form, and it was horrifying: she was not a goddess, and she never had been. The Kresnik realized, in that moment, that Jupiter never meant for them to be deities, but rather pawns in the hands of a demon. She—or rather, it—was meant to feed on the life force of witches, and Enrico’s celestial blood was anything but an appreciated offering. His angelic power was concealed by Juno’s spell, but nothing could change what he was at his core. The angry fiend pointed one of his appendages towards Enrico before starting to liquefy in a bubbling mass of bubbling shadows. The young witch looked for his mother's eyes, but she was as frozen as he was. A pair of strong hands suddenly gripped his shoulders, and when Ric turned around, he saw Ouranos’s terrified face a few inches away from his own. His best friend shouted one simple order at him. Run.
And he did. His legs moved faster than they ever did before as he leaped above roots and rocks through the woods, hurrying to reach Amara. He needed her help, he needed to save them all, he couldn’t let them be tainted by that thing. As the figure of the blonde celestial became clear in the distance, Enrico saw her glowing with holy magic as she unloaded blast after blast of celestial flames on the shield until it finally broke. The Kresnik embraced her for the first time in his existence, but before he could utter a word, she teleported them both far away. Enrico screamed, demanding that they go back to save those they left behind, but Amara was silently shaking, scared like she’d never been before by the ritual she had witnessed from afar. Eventually, the Kresnik managed to get to snap her out of her stupor with the sheer force of his despair, but all she did was start to cry. He realized he was crying too. After they both managed to calm down, they agreed that they had to go back to do what was right. They had to try to save those innocent souls, whose only guilt was being manipulated by his father.
But a few days later, as they went back to the woods to scout Enrico’s former home in search of an opportunity to enact their rescue, they found a squad of hunters waiting for them. Jupiter had contacted one of Councilman De Luca’s goons, knowing that his deviant son would come back to save those he left behind. His father would rather have him killed by the man he hated the most than let him get away scot-free after his betrayal. Amara fought valiantly and the Kresnik tried to help the best he could, but they were outnumbered, outsmarted, and outmuscled. The last thing Enrico saw before a tight, clawed grip around his throat made him lose consciousness was a hunter driving his fangs into Amara's neck.
The first thing Enrico noticed as he woke up in Krovs Castle was that he could not feel his magic anymore. He didn’t even realize that a collar was sealing both of his witch and his celestial powers when a far more tragic reality crept in his mind. Grief hit him with the might of a tidal wave, and, once again, he wept. He wept for Juno, his cold and withdrawn mother who genuinely tried to be there for him. He wept for Ouranos, his only friend, and for the future they might have had together if they were born in different circumstances. He wept for Amara, the brave, selfless and wise angel he had come to love like a second mom. They were all gone now. Were they even still alive? Or did Jupiter make them pay with their life for his unforgivable sin of being born the way he was?
Lying on the cold floor, he wished for death to take him too, but it never did. He didn’t know how long it took—Seconds? Hours? Centuries?—he managed to find in himself something that gave him the strength to rise up. A glimmer of hope, pure and vibrant like the symphonies he used to play in the woods with his violin. He hoped that, even in a place as dark as the castle, he could finally be the man that Amara always wanted him to be, now that he was far away from his father. Not Neptunus, the godly father of monsters. Not Enrico, the pathetic scared boy. He wanted to finally be Neptune, a man whose mission was to embrace everyone around him, to inspire kindness, to protect those who could not protect themselves, even if that meant sacrificing his life. If he just managed to do that, all the pain, the regret and the fear he had felt in his life would finally make sense, because they brought him exactly where he needed to be.
