Visiting a local farm I saw this wonderful double flowered form of Papaver orientale (oriental poppy, eastern poppy) in the front garden. This perennial poppy is covered with beautiful silvery hairs and will become naturalised in grassy embankments.

A quick concept art of my version of Papa V. Y'all really liked my oc, I've never thought someone would like an original character of mine ❤️

When I created Papa V I've sketched a few concepts of him, one of them was a version where he had Mary Goore's hair style, but I've decided to change that. A few of you still noticed a little bit of Mary Goore in him, so I've decided to add in his lore that in his younger years he was more like that and now in the current days he's more of the style I've been drawing ^^ which style you like best? Papa style or Mary Goore style?

G, offscreen: Says we're gonna get more of these letters, with questions or statements and–

STELLO: Is this some weird, free Q & A session?

G: Well–

LUNA: Hey, yeah, Stel's got a point! If we're doin' this, then what do we get out of it? We don't have to do this!

G: Ah, well, these anonymous people– anons, for short– might give us gifts with their letters.

HAZY: Uh-huh… what kind of gifts?

G: Oh, I don't know…

G: Food, trinkets, heck, maybe even Shards–

SILVER: DIAMOND SHARDS?! How many? Ooh, and since we're the only ones here, does that mean–

G: Depends on how much they want to give us, and we're only here for now just to see what the people want. If they somehow find the others or figure out their names, or if someone drags the others on, then they're part of this.

G: And speaking of the people, I'll be waiting here. For any questions.

TYMBER: Well, I didn't agree to this, sooooo I'll be off!

G: Don't forget that I have the key to your room!

The old and spectacular Papaver orientale 'Princess Victoria Louise' (poppy, oriental poppy) has large, blooms with crêpe paper petals and are the perfect addition to a cottage-style border. The flowers are short-lived but if dead-headed they may flower again in the autumn.

Somnus the god of sleep is believed to have created the poppy for Ceres, its opium induced sleep assisting her in caring for cornfields after becoming bereft searching for her lost daughter. She is often depicted wearing a wreath of corn and poppies, with the poppy also being a symbol of earth goddess Cybele.

In folk medicine the poppy is believed to cure earache when used as a poultice, as well as neuralgia, asthma, stomach aches and poor eyesight.

Known and cultivated throughout the ancient world, remains have been unearthed at numerous neolithic sites, with opium manufacture a part of early Minoan culture.

Symbolising sleep and death, it is also commonly seen as a bad luck omen in folklore.
