Hi! Just followed you after finishing all of the current chapters of The Peregrination. I love it!
I'm glad you're enjoying the series!! And thank you so much for the nice words!! I was worried I was kind of losing the plot by the end of The Leak, but hopefully it wasn't that bad!
I ended up changing the ending of that arc quite a bit. The patient's metamorphosis was meant to be a representation of gender dysphoria, with a bit of pointing at how nasty female beauty standards are (like with the unnaturally small waist). That's why their body didn't fit them and why they got so upset about being called Mr. Smith. Originally, after they had removed their skin and said that they were now beautiful and free, they were going to drop to the floor, dead. This was intended to be a rebuttal to the classic transphobic argument of "body mutilation". Like yeah, maybe I would be mutilating my body, but I'd be free to be who I want, and I'm willing to die to get that even if only for a little bit. But then I realized I had written Dr. Jones as a transphobe and really really wanted to kill him off, so Dr. Jones and the patient died instead! Now I'm going to write a cool girlboss doctor like Dr. Crusher to replace him!
Anyways, thank you again for the encouragement! There'll be a new chapter out later today (as soon as I get around to writing it)!

Just jolted awake at 5 AM to share this idea lmao:
Cosmic Storm: Accidental Alt-Mode Swap Scenario
Some kind of cosmic electrical storm hits the Lost Light and everyone switches alt-modes
They can't figure out how this is even possible, best they can figure is that one of the waves of cosmic electricity rolled over the ship and bypassed their shields enough to affect the crew, just this huge arc of space electricity scrambling everyone all at once
And as it arcs from crew member to crew member (and zaps the shit out of the ship too), somehow this messes with everyone's systems enough that their t-cogs all attempt to reboot while everyone is still connected by the cosmic storm energy
Which results in everyone's t-cogs getting alt-mode data confused, as everyone simultaneously tries to stabilise their systems by purging stored energy so they don't get fried, so because they're all connected by this singular pulse of space bullshit it's like one massive accidental transfer of spark energy, personal systems data, and cosmic electroshock
It's 5 AM sorry if I'm not explaining this very well LOL
But nobody dies, and their systems actually seem to be relatively OK afterwards as far as they can tell, so nobody actually realises there's a problem until First Aid and/or Ratchet asks everyone to book in follow up appointments for full systems checks just to be sure
And as part of checking t-cog function whoever the first patient of the day is gets asked to transform briefly as part of a physical exam designed to help spot any non-critical t-cog damage
And there's no t-cog damage, not to the t-cog itself. Scans come back okay, everything looks good, so OK, time to proceed with the transformation test. Root mode to alt-mode, and then back to root mode.
If the t-cog and associated systems are functional, it should be pretty straightforward.
And the bot does successfully transform...
..Just, into the wrong alt-mode.
And immediately, The Problem Of The Day becomes clear.
Gradually people around the ship figure it out on their own as well, while the Med Bay staff are trying to figure out what the fuck is going on
Over in the Science Lab, Perceptor is messaging Ratchet frantically because he's realised the problem as soon as he tried to switch into his alt-mode to study some samples of a metal panel from the ship which has some damage from the cosmic electricity and uh oh turns out he's a fucking helicopter now
It's a problem that also alters their root modes, but only after their first transformation post-space storm. Something fully triggers whatever is wrong with their t-cog data only once they enter alt-mode, their root modes then re-configure to accommodate these changes following that initial "wrong" transformation sequence.
They have their own colours, their paint nanites etc. remain the same as always, but their modes have changed. So they get any kibble etc. that might come with that new alt-mode.
So Brainstorm goes to pick up some energon for both of them, then comes back and Perceptor suddenly has rotors and holy shit
Eventually everyone on board figures out something weird/potentially bad is happening with their t-cogs. Some people are too scared to test it and find out, while others immediately can't resist their curiosity or think it's better to figure out as soon as possible so they can adapt, and test it as soon as they hear some bots are just turning into completely different things, totally reconfigured.
This could be fun, also sort of terrifying (there is potential for body horror to some degree), and either way it's chaos.
When Drift triggers his alt-mode, he turns into a cat-- Seems like he's got Ravage's t-cog data. Nobody can find Ravage, and Megatron makes it clear that he'll be the only one to attempt to find him.
Rodimus turns into some kind of aqueous vehicle. Maybe Camien in origin. (Turns out it's Nautica's t-cog data.) He's fine with it as soon as he realises he's space flight capable for short distances and Magnus has to talk him out of trying to race the ship.
Of course, because it's Nautica's t-cog data, when he reverts back to root mode, he has a distinctly femme Camien-style frame. He loves it, because his armour isn't as heavy in this form, so he can go faster. (Once this is all over, he is strongly considering keeping some of these femme frame alterations...)
And if you want to use this as a setup for any shipping, yes indeed, some bots inevitably try to test out their newly altered frames with their partners or amicas. (The medical staff all advise against this because oh god nobody knows all the functions of their new systems yet, please do not end up in the Med Bay with "makeout related injuries" they are dealing with so much right now LOL)
Anyway my moving date is 25/01 but as soon as I'm settled into my new place I might turn this into a fic if I have time lmao

⋆。°✩ happy accidents in space
tw : manipulation, inaccurate space station, sleep deprivation, cosmic horror?, shape shifting.
yandere!cosmic entity x reader/you
Yandere! Cosmic entity who accidentally listened to your broadcasts from the space station since your crew mate was messing around with the radio system to try and get a radio station from earth.
Yandere! Cosmic entity who mimics the voices of your crew on earth who managed the monitoring in the space station.
Your fingers pressed the buttons on the control panel and twisted the radio knobs to match the frequency. Till, you finally got it the correct frequency and heard a familiar voice from the static.
“Hello?” You pressed the speaker close to your lips. “Can you hear me?”
“He..hello?”
You smiled at the familiar voice and breathed a sigh of relief. Moving the radio knobs to get a better and clearer connection through to your ears.
Yandere! Cosmic entity whose voice is only clear to you and only you but the other crew mates hear static drowning out your voice or just your voice talking in silence.
Yandere! Cosmic entity that slowly begins to appear in your dreams but only shows their eyes since mortal eyes can’t comprehend their true form and occasionally leaves you sleep deprived after constant nightmares and night terrors that it purposely put in your head.
Yandere! Cosmic entity who messes with the systems of the space station and their large slit iris stares in the small window that always got a good view of earth to see you floating in your sleeping station that was embedded in the floor, seeing how dark rings underneath your eyes that no longer held the familiar shine.
You felt a shadow while desperately trying to sleep, it had gotten dark in the sleeping quarters. You decided to poke out your head from the your bunk to see—seeing something staring back at you. Rubbing your tired eyes to see the something gone, getting out of your bunk and floated towards the small window to see earth; unchanged.
It was real, wasn’t it? But only you saw it, you haven’t slept in days remember?
Yandere! Cosmic entity watches you repair the space station in your space suit and oddly enough finds the space suit intimidating and cuts the tether that keeps you attached to the space station.
Yandere! Cosmic entity that continues to drift you away from the space station and hears your pleas for a crew mate to help you.
Your glove hand aches with the amount of times you pressed on the intercom button. Your tears seemed to float in the suit, tired limbs that tried to swim back to the space station but it seemed to push you back further and further away.
“Is anyone there?” You begged. “My line to the space station was cut. Can you hear me?”
“He..hello?” The familiar voice responded.
Your voice was stuck as a smile appeared on your face.
“It’s you,” you replied. “Finally, someone responded! My line was cut, is there any way that you could pull me back to the station?”
Your eyes saw another space suit floating towards you, a white cord attached them to the station and they were close. Seeing the famili—the unfamiliar face staring back at you and they must be apart of the other side of the station.
“I’m here,” they said.
They pulled you to grab their forearm to help you back to the station. How long were you floating since the space station seemed to be a metallic white ball in the far distance.
You noticed that they stopped pulling forward and pushing the intercom button.
“Why did you stop pulling?” You asked.
You gasped out in shock, immediately covering your eyes, watching them take off their space helmet and hearing the hissing noise.
“Don’t hide from me,” they said. “Let me see those eyes.”
How they were audible, their voice echoed throughout your head. You pulled away your hands to see them, alive surprisingly with no discoloration or— those eyes. Their eyes, the ones from the night terrors, the ones that watched you from the window.
“Hey…you hear me!” A crew member's voice blared in the intercom. “You’re far out there…will get to you, don’t worry!”
Their eyes stared at you, dissecting your movements that you did.
“You don’t need their help.” Their hand held the glass of your helmet. “You don’t need their help.”

Eve's voice, based on one of the panels...is her voice disturbing or is it more of a "beautifully disorienting" kind of tone?
I imagine it's horrible, screeching star twisting cosmic horror that morphs into something a deer ear can actually comprehend. When you look at the page, at first the bubbles aren't bubbles at all, but the bleeding color of the gutters with Eve's trademark red. But slowly they start to turn into something we can recognize as bubbles, and the fonts stops spasming.
She hadn't talked for a bit. Her throat was hoarse, made of space.

The Emperor's New Muse Part .12
Odyssey Kayn x Reader
content: BARE WITNESS TO COSMIC EMPEROR KAYN
There was nothing you could do, you were forced by your own morbid curiosity to watch on as Kayn vanished into the portal. The air falls silent and you wait on baited breath for something to happen.
"We should try to get out of here," Yasuo murmurs as he slowly reaches for the steering.
"I don't think we can." Jinx says pointing out of the window. Outside were thousands of Demaxian ships, all of them training their weapons on you. Great, they're still following the delusional ordinals' orders.
No one dared to move, everyone was still in this tense standoff.
"What should we do?" you whisper to Yasuo.
"I don't know we're stuck with no options" Yasuo whispers back.
"Can't we just blow them all up?" Jinx whines.
"Are you kidding me? We don't have a fraction of the firepower needed to take care of all of them." You shoot back. Jinx groans in disappointment.
There were simply no choices. You were trapped with no way to escape. Any slight movement would attract the Demaxian firepower, and you wouldn't survive the attack. Fighting your way out was not an option either, there was no way the three of you could take down an entire army.
You were stuck in a stalemate, an uncertain waiting game. There was nothing you could do but wait and hope that either the Demaxians would change their mind or something unexpected would happen.
Just how long would this take exactly? surely after a while the Demaxian military would start to question to volidity of their Ordinals orders. Kayn had thrown himself into the ora gate, how big of a red flag for insanity could you get with him? They should be discussing how to run their stupid empire now that two rulers had bit the dust.
"Uh guys I think something is happening" Jinx whispers her elbow nudging your side, bringing your attention to the ora gate, to what Jinx was gesturing towards. Something was indeed happening, something you didn't expect and couldn't quite comprehend.
The inky blackness within its center began to pulse and glow, and you could swear you could see something moving around. It was like looking at an underwater screen, something was constantly shifting and wriggling underneath a dark layer of liquid.
Something was emerging from it and your jaw dropped. "No fucking way."
There was no doubt about it. Kayn had survived whatever unimaginable horror lurked beyond the ora gate. Something was different about him though, he had changed.
His shaved and braided hair had grown out in beautiful whispy tresses, and his skin now had a porcelain completion. A dark dye travels up his arms and swirls around his chest that was now bare with his robes only draped around his lower half. His blue eyes pierced the gaze of everyone around him and with a grand voice he speaks.
"Behold! My subjects! I have returned from the ora gate! I have conquered the dark star! I am, the cosmic Emperor!"
Kayn floats before the entrance of the ora gate with his arms extended in a godly pose.
"Worship me! Bow before your new emperor!" His commanding voice booms through space.
"Holy shit this man is mad!" Jinx exclaims, her hands are gripped into tight fists.
You pay no mind to her comment still slackjawed at the sight. Your attention was focused on the new scythe resting in the Emperor's hand. It no longer had a chunky neon blade or a center of pulsing ora essence. Kayn's scythe was now much more sleek, curved and lightweight with a blue and gold blade. But the ora within its center no longer pulsed with sentience it was vacant and void of life, Rhaast was no more.
How did he defeat Rhaast? What happened within the ora gate? A part of you was relieved that Rhaast had been defeated but that only meant you were stuck with the lesser of two evils.
Your ship begins to move and you whip your head to find Jinx who had taken over the control panel now piloting it towards Kayn. "JINX NO!"
It was too late for you to rush in and intervene, Yasuo looked just as stunned as you as Jinx charged your ship toward the Emperor with its firearms engaged. You duck and flatten yourself to the floor as the thousands of Demaxian ships fire upon you. Your ship miraculously dodges every plasma blast that flies toward you in tight formation.
Yasuo gets to his feet and tries to rip Jinx away from the wheel but in a fit of hysterical strength, she shoves him off. Her lips twisted in a scornful expression, her bare teeth grinding together. Her eyes were wild and trembling as fat tears threatened to spill down her face, her throat was tearing itself with distressed cries of agony. She was dead set on rushing this ship and running through Kayn with it. "YOU BASTARD!" she shrieks. "YOU WILL FUCKING PAY!!"
Kayn stares ahead at you, illuminated by the ships headlights as you rapidly approach him, yet he remains calm and unmoving with a content look present on his face.
You watch as the ship completely rushes through him who remains untouched as he phases through like a ghost. "Still falling for the same tricks Jinx?" Kayn asks with an arrogant tone.
Seething Jinx maneuvers the ship around and opens fire on the Cosmic Emperor who only seems amused as every blast passes through him. Kayn lets out a dark chuckle and appears in your ship standing right before Jinx. She doesn't hesitate and throws everything she has at him, her pistol bullets ricochet across the control panel forcing you and Yasuo to duck and take cover.
Jinx unleashes all of her arsenal, mindlessly emptying her ammunition at Kayn. The emperor remains unaffected no matter what form of attack Jinx hysterically swaps between. She throws her empty pistol at Kayn's head and swaps for her minigun. The control system of the ship and everything else inside gets destroyed as lights flash and alarms blare.
Kayn moves forward with every attack thrown at him phasing through, Kayn is invincible and unstoppable and slowly he's backing Jinx into a corner.
Jinx remains fierce until eventually, her gun clicks onto an empty chamber. Her eyes waver for a moment as she realizes she is completely powerless against Kayn, you can tell that she's about to try something stupid again but with how calm Kayn is you know that the moment she does he will kill her.
"Kayn STOP!" You throw yourself between them with your arms widespread effectively shielding Jinx from Kayn who doesn't seem the slightest bit surprised. His blue eyes only stare into yours where you get lost in the emptiness that sits at the back of his gaze.
"As Cosmic Emperor, you should feel honored to die by my hand." You can hear Yasuo get up but Kayn is quick to make the samurai freeze. "I wouldn't make another move if I were you Captain, unless you want to watch me kill what remains of your crew through inhumane torture." Kayn turns his head back to you and tilts it with a curious hum.
"The one who continues to defy me, despite how futile it is you continue to challenge me. You're either extremely brave or unimaginably foolish." He slowly leans forward, narrowing his eye's slightly as he studies you.
"I want to make you suffer for getting in my way. It is SO tempting to just kill you, but I have better plans for you."
The eerie tension is cut by Yasuo screaming as he rushes towards Kayn who has his his back turned to him. Kayn stares into your eyes not breaking contact for a moment as he shoots out an arm that grabs Yasuo by the throat.
A tired chuckle slips past the Emperor's lips. "Just how many times must I prove my point. THAT YOU ARE POWERLESS AGAINST ME!?" Kayn effortlessly tosses Yasuo aside, sending him flying across the entire cockpit and crashing into the opposite wall.
Yasuo hits the wall with a sickening splat, the force of the impact sends the air rushing out of his lungs as he lays there helplessly on the ground.
The sheer power and strength of Kayn was astounding, he effortlessly tossed aside one of the strongest warriors in the empire with a single motion of his hand.
Kayn continued to calmly look at you, unfazed by anything around him, he was completely untouchable.
His eyes remained locked on yours.
"I think I've been a very gracious man." Kayn reaches for his scythe and places its blade on your neck. "Bow."
You stare back defiantly which visibly strikes a chord for the emperor. "I think you failed to hear me." His scythe is then repositioned behind you, now aimed at Jinx. "I said BOW".
"Don't do it" Jinx mumbles, her fists trembling in fear and anger. "I'd rather die than give this bastard any satisfact- AGHH!" Jinx screams as Kayn swiftly slices through her left shoulder chopping her entire arm off and falls to the ground with a dull thud. Her robotic arm flies to cover the fresh stump as blood begins to spurt.
You let out a cry of horror, your body moves faster than your mind with the instinct to protect her again but your body is held in place by the scythe blade. Jinx's hot blood dripped onto your clavicle.
"On. Your. Knees."
Jinx's whimpers and strained sobs of pain make your knees weak and reluctantly you lower yourself to bow before him. Your body felt hot as you burned with rage that was forced down by the threat of losing Jinx.
From the corner of your vision you could see Jinx's amputated arm, Yasuo was still out cold slumped against the wall. You felt relieved to see his chest rising and falling.
"I'm going to give you a choice" Kayn says in a smooth voice. "What will it be?"...
Your eyes fly open as your heart rate peaks. Your skin shivers under a cold sweat and your hands tremble. Another nightmare, no, a memory of the past.
So much has changed since Kayn opened the Ora gate, your bionic arms now remind you of that. Ora augmentations, a once forbidden practice now made legal to individuals who work in the highest ranks of the Demaxian Empire.
Biohacking your body with modifications was the only way you could make yourself stronger. With Kayn ruling the universe you needed to be in top shape if there was any hope of you standing against him one day.
The Empire has thrived since Kayn's coronation. Now that the entire universe was under his rule there were no other nations or factions to war against.
You haven't heard from Yasuo or Jinx, they managed to escape together and have been on the run ever since. They're somewhere out there, hiding amongst the population undercover or isolated on a barren planet. Whenever you lead a patrol across the planet systems you always kept your eye out for them.
But the two have remained elusive and you hoped that was a good thing.
You had proven Kayn right that you would make an excellent addition to his Locus Armada. Being such a determined fighter helped you climb the ranks after being properly trained. Of course, it was the rage against your Emperor and the plan to one day grow powerful enough to kill him that was your driving force.
Since you were forced to serve in the Locus Armada every aspect of your life was heavily controlled. All hours of the day were made into a schedule which you were to strictly follow.
Every hour of the day was divided into "shifts" where you had to eat, sleep, and train. There was no free time to relax, even showering and skincare were timed and monitored.
Your food was now served and eaten at specific times, each meal was a portion of calculated fats, sugars, carbs and nutrients. Sure every meal was prepared by top quality chefs but you missed the cheap take out from dive bars you and the morning star would pig out on.
Every day was full of endless hours of vigorous training. You were given a personalized exercise regime that you had to complete and as the months went by the goals only got more difficult.
At least now you were a much stronger and skilled fighter compared to the old you. Perhaps your incredible and fast adaptation was the reason why you became an Ordinal yourself so quickly, but a part of you knew that it was because Kayn wanted to keep a closer personal eye on you.
A pale hand snakes around your waist drawing your attention back to the man in your bed. Kayn may have looked to be peacefully asleep but you knew damn well that he was just as alert as you were.
It had started with subtle touches whenever you two were close, you often found his hand slipping to touch your arm or shoulder during conferences. As a high ranking Ordinal let alone the only female Ordinal you forced yourself to bear through it all and act unbothered.
But as the months passed the Emperor only escalated the sexual molestations. You were spending more time reporting directly to Kayn and staying back after meetings everytime Kayn made a move you would always be professional and discreetly turn him down. As if you would ever reciprocate to that bastard.
However, despite your determination to stay reluctant to Kayn's advances eventually the emperor would snap and force you to obey him. To Kayn you were his trophy, the living example of how he became the Cosmic Emperor. You were the only person who continuously got in his way of opening the Ora Gates. Even though he had succeeded you still proved yourself to be an enemy that outsmarted him and always got away somehow.
And now here you were at his mercy, powerless to turn his advances down now that he had you locked in your suite. A new development to your little situationship if you want to call it that.
The emperor had made a habbit of visiting your quarters every night. Ever since you agreed to become enrolled in his royal military you knew every aspect of your being was at his mercy.
It was either that or die.
Hence the new chapter of this "situationship" where your mornings started and ended with sleeping with the Emperor. Eventually, he would let down his guard and that would be the moment you'd put an end to his reign.
As Kayn lay on the bed, his eyes closed as you got up for another identical say of Ordinal duties his mind went back to the series of events leading up till now.
He was well aware that you were plotting to betray him, how could you not after everything he had done? He was very impressed with how patient you have been. To anyone else you were seen as one of Kayn's most loyal Ordinals, someone who worked harder than the rest.
But Kayn knew better, all of this was just an intricate facade. You couldn't fool him, but he'll indulge in this little game of yours.
What bothered Kayn was that you continued to remain stubborn to him. Yes you were his trophy and he enjoyed tormenting you but he expected by now you wouldn't be so spiteful towards him.
Every night when Kayn had you pinned under him or on your knees with your hair in his fist you always glared at him with a burning hatred. No matter how many times he defiled or humiliated you, you remained unbroken.
Why did this irk him? Why was he so bothered by this? He had won so why did it feel like he was still fighting to prove something? Like nothing had changed since the days of the Morningstar.
Kayn didn't want to admit it but he craved for you to feel something else, anything else. He was tired of having you remain indifferent, how dare you continue to deny him the cosmic emperor. You should feel lucky, and grateful even that someone as grand as him would give you such attention.
He knew he was a desirable man, he walked around the palace so freely without a shirt, showing off the toned physique he gained from the countless battles and endless training. He wore only the most expensive and extravagant fashion and took good care of himself. How were you not falling over yourself and begging him to fuck you instead of him needing to force himself onto you every night.
No this wasn't over Kayn wanted you to want him.
And Kayn gets what he wants.
...I know I took forever. Thanks for coming back anyways!

If I write fanfic for dungeon meshi I’m gonna start with writing about the demon cause I loooooooove cosmic horror and the way the demon was set up in the story is still giving me brainworms a couple hours after finishing the manga.
Honestly that element reminds me a lot of FMA, I think there are some pretty clear influences there, but tbh the winged lion in dunmeshi is a more compelling character than the dwarf in the flask.
AND the integration of dnd style planar stuff was so fucking goooood.
Like the moment I got to this bit I was like ‘Oh Fuck This Rules this is how you do a demon deal!’
And then the other little hints towards its nature had me !!!!!!
I already mentioned this panel in a post but I’ll do it again cause it’s fucking breathtaking
And these bits are gonna live in my mind forever now, SO fucking goooood
But what’s most intriguing is the backstory chapter for the demon like!!! Going from
To being like, the origin of magic and of the variation in humanoid races??? And worshipped as presumably many separate gods??? And then being sealed away at some point, somehow, cut off from the whole of the planet and confined to the saddest little pocket dimension of all time while the society driven by its influence collapses???????
AND THEN FINALLY this comment from the elves?????????????
GOD the worldbuilding in dunmeshi is making me crazy holy shit.
#dungeon meshi#dungeon meshi manga spoilers#the winged lion#dunmeshi liveblog#technically I finished it earlier but I’m gonna put it in that tag anyway cause I’m still thinking thoughts#caitie speaks#long post#once again no idea I will add them after I eat

"That Really Happened?!" DC Comics Tournament Entry #24
Animal Man discovers the Fourth Wall
[ID: Comic panel close up of Buddy Baker who turns towards the audience, eyes wide in shock and says, "I can see you!" /END ID]
What Happened?
After the tragic death of his family, Buddy Baker (aka Animal Man) takes peyote with a friend and has hallucinations where he finds out that his life has been repeatedly retconned into what it is today. He encounters a previously retconned version of himself who was rendered sterile after exposure to the radiation that gave him superpowers and thus couldn't have the kids that Buddy just lost. Buddy wants to know who has been causing the retcons and is told to look behind him. From a single comic panel, Buddy looks out in fear as he sees past the Fourth Wall, looking directly at the comic book reading audience.
What's pretty wild about this all is that a) his knowledge of the Fourth Wall continues far beyond this story and b) they never use it for jokey, joke Deadpool-style humor of addressing the audience. It's fully addressed as a cosmic horror story to be viewed by millions of readers and having zero control over your own life or privacy from watching eyes. He has a full-on existential crisis over this and everything. And yet he still has to go to other series like Justice League Europe and pretend that everything is still as it was.
--
Tournament polls will be posted after all entries are up. As always you can find all posts related to the tournament using #dc-polls-trh

Medical Interview Two: The Leak (Part Seven)
Medical interview two, Dr. Jones speaking.
It has been twenty four hours since the last contact was made with the patient. I am going to attempt another interview now, under the watch of Lieutenant Volkov. He has a rather impressive reputation, with extensive combat training, so I feel this interview should go better.
"You know I can hear you, da?"
I'm sorry Lieutenant. Just, stating it aloud, for documentation purposes.
"That is ok. I listened to last interview. Good documentation practices."
Thank you Lieutenant. I will however need you to remain silent for the interview.
"I will be as silent as the mouse."
Thank you. The patient has been in isolation a total of forty eight hours. Automated services in the sick bay have been delivering them food and water, however no staff was brave enough to venture in to check on the patient in the past twenty four hours. This interview will be Mr. Smi- I mean the patient's first contact since the last interview. Let's hope this interview goes better.
*Grreeeeaa*
The isolation unit is dark. The light is on, but there appears to be something covering it. I can't tell what it is though. Eugh! Something smells in here! It's like rotten meat, like someone left a steak out overnight. There's a faint dripping sound, but I can't tell where it's coming from.
"It's coming from the light Doctor."
The patient has spoken from the isolation unit.
"The patient... You keep calling me that."
Well, you didn't seem to respond positively to Mr. Smith...
"I am not Mr. Smith anymore! That name doesn't fit me! It's dead to me!"
That's why I've stuck to the patient.
"I guess that is suitable."
Why is it dark in there? What's blocking the light?
"Oh... My bad, let me move that."
Oh- Oh no! Oh god!! Was that skin? What happened to your face?
"I freed myself! I got out! My skin didn't fit me anymore. But now I'm free! And I'm so beautiful!!"
That's disgusting!!
"NO! No it's not! You've done nothing but insult me since you brought me here! You haven't helped me at all!"
I- I've tried!
"No you haven't!"
Please! Mr. Smith!
*KRASH!*
AAAAAAHHHHH!!
"I told you not to call me that anymore!!"
*KRSHSHSRKSSHSRR*
End of log.

Meet Hard Boiled Henwy! Scourge of all!
So in another post, I made reference to hard Boiled Henwy, and was asked for an explanation by @thefingerfuckingfemalefury ... Which is a reasonable request.
Back in the 90's, the Britain based x-book Excalibur had sort of fallen into an unsatisfying langour.
After the gleeful insanity of the early Chris Claremont written, Alan Davis pencilled romps involving the Warwolves, the Crazy Gang and the Cross Time Caper (Even if that DID go on too long). Davis left after 17 issues, and Claremont after 27 issues, and no one seemed to quite know how to deal with a team which wasn't the usual X-Men fare.
So, in issue 42, Alan Davis returned as artist AND writer and the series reached new heights, as Davis did know how to deal with them and had no problem embracing the weird and just plain cosmically silly! It's hard to think of a better exemplar than this, the cover of Davis' first issue
And worry not, we are soon to meet this agent of doom! And even witness his creation!
Because Davis immediately returns to one of the most outlandish teams introduced in the title: The Technet! The Technet are a VERY long story in and of themselves (Involving Alan Moore, Alan Davis, Doctor Who Weekly, and Captain Britain), but they are summarised in the first panel, so don't worr about it.
Just know that Gatecrasher is the large lady who leads this motley team, and she has a grudge against the Excalibur team, and has a capture contract on Phoenix to deliver.
So we cut to the Excalibur team having breakfast in their lighthouse home (and base of operations) which is going normally, until Meggan tries to boil an egg.
What horror could emerge? What unspeakable nightmare lurks within this calcium cage?
If you guessed a psychopathic, genetically engineered, self-destructing Tweety Bird, congratulations!
Now, whilst Henwy is something of a one shot wonder (literally) fret not, because Gatecrasher can, and has, made others in the years since, all called Hard Boiled Henwy because why change a winning formula?

NEXUS
Nexus /ˈneksəs/ n 1 a connection or series of connections linking two or more things. 2 a connected group or series. 3 the central and most important point or place.
Chapter Summary: Din just wanted to show you the stars.
Part 2! Part 3!
A/n: I’ve been working on the whole series for two years??? Give or take. This is like the only thing I genuinely wanted to get right in terms of writing so plsss 🙏😭 This first chapter is super tame, very fluffy and very short in comparison to what's coming.
Warnings for the series: Dead Dove Do Not Eat!!!, getting lost in the unknown regions, Death, Gore, cosmic horror, very heavy topics, smut, angst, fluff, dark themes. This is a dark fic; you have been warned!
There’s a constant beeping around you, for a moment you get lost in it, you even start to time it. It takes about four seconds in between; silence and a breath in from Din’s chest before another soft bleep from the console.
His fingers twitch, helmet roaming over the panels in front of him, his other hand moving quickly to flick a small lever at his side as if wacking a fly from the air. The beeping had begun a couple days ago, and much to his irritation it hasn’t stopped no matter what buttons he pushes, what levers he pulls and how many times he’s checked for repairs.
A glitch he had said, looking down on you after you had mentioned how frustrated you were with the repetitive sound not letting you sleep well the first day it appeared. A bug, you replied with a small curl of your lips, thinking you were so clever.
It was insignificant, it was buzzing but it technically didn’t hurt you. You had gotten used to it, it was part of the crew. It had gotten so repetitive that it was practically muted in your ears, the beep melting into the harmony of the creaking of metal, the hum of the engines and your own quiet conversations.
It was still there but you didn’t even hear it anymore.
Sitting in the cockpit, you watched as the stars passed by. Mando was setting up the nav comp to a planet for fuel. You figured, before the trip, that if you had a few days until the tank was empty you would be fine with landing on any planet on the outer rims to refuel.
“What are you looking at?” He rasps as he flicks something else in front of him, his back still turned to you.
You didn’t notice your attention drifting towards the pilot’s seat, if anything you were mesmerized by the stars reflecting off of him, swirling over his armor quickly with rays of blues and grays. You turned down to your lap and pressed your hand over your face, pulling the skin of your cheeks down momentarily, willing the smile on your lips to distort with it.
“Nothing,” you respond curtly, smiling almost shyly.
He could see you through the reflection of the viewport, your head was down and he could see your eyes flicker up to meet his gaze from the glass before quickly shifting to your lap. His seat swivels to the side, allowing him to rest his elbows on his knees slowly. He stays in that position for a few moments, hands dangling from between his legs, head tilting in inquisition and watching as you fidgeted with the loose leather of the seat, picking at it with your nail.
He hummed, not quite believing you, but he knew what you were waiting for.
He slowly unlatched his helmet, the hiss making your breath catch in your throat. You're still avoiding his gaze and looking towards the ground when the beskar meets his thigh in a soft thud.
Just a few months ago he wouldn’t even think about revealing his face to you. The decisions he had made throughout his journey inevitably gave him clarity to what he truly viewed as important. He was still a Mandalorian, despite his recent indulgence of taking his helmet off every once in a while around people he trusted, you amongst them.
It was odd for you. Getting used to his face was odd, but not unwelcome. You have only known him as a featureless man, his helmet was his only descriptor until then.
At first it was as if you didn’t know him, feeling unpleasant awkwardness whenever he would take it off to eat. He felt like a stranger to you. You would treat him differently when the helmet was covering his face. You would act much more freely .
It wasn’t his fault or yours, the human psyche was stingy, it took a while until your brain caught up. As he places the helmet on his lap, you think it really shouldn’t have been that hard to get used to him like this.
He was timid, so were you, but he didn’t know how to control his expressions. Anyone could guess what he was feeling or even thinking by a glance at his face. You could almost laugh now, thinking of all the different ways he must have contorted under his barrier of beskar without anyone knowing.
You guess you grew an appreciation for Din’s helmetless state after a while. Especially when he pouted, or when you could hear his laugh clearly, or even when he gave you a gravid look. He was more human this way. You learned to like it.
He watches you now, trying to contain your giddiness in your seat.
Despite being initially nervous to show you his face, he now knows that in your standards he was considered attractive. He could hide his face forever knowing that you, the only person whose thoughts he takes in exceptionally high regards, thinks of him as extraordinary.
No one’s opinion mattered except for yours. You made him cocky, and he’s using his newly discovered looks to his advantage. He likes making you stumble over your words. He likes getting you in a daze. It makes his heart race.
He gets down on his knees in front of you, edging his face closer to your gaze. Your eyes connect with his and the contact makes him smile warmly.
“Hey…” he tries.
With two fingers he tilts your chin from your chest, making sure you would look at him without your eyes wandering.
“Let’s go on vacation.” Your eyes widen, your mouth starting to curve upwards at the strange sentence coming from the mouth of a bounty hunter.. He continues.
“After this bounty I’m pretty sure we can have some free time. We’ll be able to afford it.”
You're skeptical, he’s not the type to settle down and just relax. You hum, not quite bought on his idea. He pokes your thigh and covers his hands on your own. “Come on, we deserve it, don’t you think?”
“And what exactly are we going to do in said vacation?” you ask.
“We’ll sleep.”
You roll your eyes and raise your brow. He chuckles.
“I want to take you to different planets-” He could already see you start to rebuttal, “The good parts of planets, not the ones filled with organized crime.” He gives you a lopsided grin as a final selling point.
You pretend to think, narrowing your eyes at him.
“...I’ll give you a maybe.”
He leans in close at your words, your eyes flutter and your teasing tone fades. His hand cups your face, the tip of his thumb running under your bottom lashes.
“That’s all I need.” He finally seals the deal.
His kisses are inexperienced. At first they were pecks, never on your lips, but the few he would give you felt as if they were everything a real kiss should be. It wasn’t until your lips met the skin of his cheek that he finally realized how nice it felt.
It was like a mini blessing for someone. A way to show your appreciation for them. He loved giving and receiving kisses to and from you, especially when he noted that you had to stretch in order to reach his face and he had to crane his neck down.
You would go so far as to go through an inconvenience, even if it was small, to give him a peck on the cheek. You were truly remarkable to him.
A miscalculated kiss to the corner of his lips had made him turn fully and give you a proper one. At first it felt as if he was just pressing his mouth against you, but gradually as it progressed he was finally able to move his lips with yours in synchrony.
He was obsessed. Never having a day without a few or more, even going as far as pulling his helmet halfway up just enough to allow you to lean in when in public .
You developed this relationship without putting any labels on it. To everyone else you were partners, which wasn’t not true. Between each other, saying partners came with much more weight .
It was nice, you were both safe and content. You thought everything was going well. It was too good to be true.
You sit up straight and break mid-kiss as alarms blare from the control panel. They screech in your ears, for a moment your heart drops and he sees a twinge of fear in your eyes. He squeezes your hand and your eyes focus back on him, your small bubble of peace reforming wobbly even if just for a second more.
The pit envelopes in red, a ship is nearby and they don’t seem friendly. He seats himself back on the pilot’s seat, helmet lopsided from how sporadically he pulled it on himself. Spirits were high as if your lips had given him vitality.
Ships hover on both sides, their windows tinted. For a moment you hold your breath, Din’s hands tighten over the steer and his chest rises more pronounced with each inhale into his lungs.
You tense as he tenses, already sensing that the interaction would only lead to unnecessary altercations. They refuse to comm through, even as Din’s voice rises in irritation. The metal of their panels was scratched, faulty jobs of less protective material over it as cover.
They inch closer and Din shakes his head, forgetting the comm button and instead shifting in his seat.
They don’t even try to bargain, already busy forcefully trying to board the ship. As the pirates get closer to boarding the hull, he finally turns to you, his hand hovering the panel, ready to make a move.
You hear the guns shift between the enemy ships, engaging. You sigh exasperatedly.
“Get ready.” He almost sounded excited, cocky.
Giving a nod, you buckle in, prepared for the ship to push you back against the seat with force. He waits until you're ready, pausing for a moment and taking a deep breath in.
You're being chased through the system. You can barely pay attention to the nav comp as Din makes sharp turns and tilts to avoid being hit by incoming asteroids. You press your head against the headrest, gritting your teeth and closing your eyes tightly as he makes a loop.
Your eyes meet the blinking dot on the navigator. Your ship was parallel to the thick red line.
You're nearing the edge.
“Din, we’re getting a little too close…” you warn, your voice muffled by the plasma cannons from outside.
He was usually great at this, navigating through the galaxy without having to look through any directionals. He was a Mandalorian, he knew his way through every situation.
But he didn’t know this region and with an almost exaggerated sigh he had decided that he would use the nav for once, per your request, of course.
“A little busy right now!” As one of the ships crashes next to you against a piece of rock Din had just evaded, you feel everything shake around you.
Only one ship was left and Din was gripping the steer tightly in wait.
The Crest was awfully close to the border of the parameter in which the nav comp couldn’t guide you in anymore. It was well known not to go around this region, it was dangerous and only extremely skilled navigators could go out and not get lost. Nav comps coincidentally stop functioning once you leave, there wasn't enough data gathered to be able to create a map, and it would show blank and crash.
Dead space, the unknown.
As Din suddenly shifts downward the ship in front of you passes by quickly. He takes the chance to finally take his shot. You watch as the ship in front of you explodes, coloring the inside of the cockpit a warm and sharp orange-yellow.
You breathe in deeply as you're enveloped in the color, almost as if you were choking on the fire grazing over the front of the ship. Din slows down and cruises.
He turns towards you, and somehow you know he’s grinning under the helmet just by the way he holds his shoulders. You shake your head at him and cross your arms, obviously not as amused as he was by the chase. You briefly look over the panel, and backtrack again.
Your heart falls to your stomach as you finally see the computer blanked out, no coordinates, no directions, nothing.
You were officially in the depths of the Unknown Regions and you didn’t know how to get back.

hi hello i haven’t played sonic unleashed but i watched gameplay years and years ago but its been a minute so bear with me here
so i stayed up all night reading through this entire comic in one sitting and i absolutely adore the way you showed the panel borders distorting and even becoming monstrous themselves as Shadow reaches his breaking point (which is symbolically shown through the icy walls fracturing around them during his and Sonic’s argument leading up to the fight) and the way the influence of Dark Gaia becomes more prominent as purple flames to emanate from him, growing more and more vivid
and then the rising action reaches a fever pitch when Sonic says he has no heart and we see Shadow finally reach his breaking point when the borders of the panel shatter around him
and while he processes this the borders soften (although not entirely) and we see Sonic realize the mistake he made and his regret, but it’s already too late because we can see the color red slowly start to overtake the borders as Shadow is overcome with rage
and we can see the red borders turn to pink and the glimpses of pink in Shadow’s text bubbles take over completely as the force that’s corrupting him takes control of him in this vulnerable state
it tries falteringly to communicate with Sonic, a desperate plea for him to fix what was broken and to make Gaia whole again
in this moment Dark Gaia as an entity is effectively lashing out and it latches onto Shadow’s rage here especially because that’s something it can empathize with, or at the very least something it recognizes given its own circumstances. Dark Gaia seems to understand (at least within the constraints of its limitations as one part of a whole) that it is fundamentally broken and in order to make that right it wants to be “fixed” but it doesn’t know how and it can’t really do that on its own
I don’t know if Dark Gaia even knows that it can’t mend itself by itself and if its just sort of reacting to the cosmic existential horror that is being split into two separate entities (i’d be cranky too if that happened to me regardless of whether or not i was some sort of ancient deity)
but then in a pivotal moment, Sonic reaches out to Shadow, to Dark Gaia, and the borders straighten out once more. They’re still pink mind you, but Sonic has managed to ground Shadow/Dark Gaia or at least shock him long enough to absorb the darkness within.
Sonic promises that the lies stop here and that he and Shadow/Dark Gaia are going to make this right together and in an eruption of purple flames, we cut to Shadow’s time on the ARK.
It’s a brilliant transition and the pay off for this moment is amazing as it was set up spectacularly via foreshadowing (ha get it) in earlier issues of the comic.
The technical aspects of the comic continue to blow me away during this sequence as we as readers are able to measure the passage of time through the timestamps in the upper righthand corner of each panel.
We see Shadow’s turbulent upbringing and the unrelenting kindness that Maria showed him. We see how his unpredictable powers affected his life aboard the ARK and how his struggles mirror the ones Sonic has been grappling with throughout the comic.
We even see Shadow start to embrace his own innate capacity for violence at one point and not in a good way. After months of testing, covered in blood, Shadow calls himself a monster and to the reader (and perhaps even Shadow himself given the abstract nature of the background in this panel) At this point it’s not immediately clear exactly what he’s done, but the blood is a pretty good indicator that it can’t be good.
Finally, reality sinks in when someone begins to shout and Shadow sees the look on Maria’s face. As members of G.U.N. close in on him with their arms outstretched to seize him, Shadow’s body language (particularly his ears and his face) tell us that Shadow is horrified by what he’s become and so he runs.
Maria calls after him, desperately trying to quell his fears and I love the framing of Maria in the next page and how she stands in the doorway, surrounded by light while Shadow is hunched over in the darkness, staring at the hands that he used to take away the lives of those soldiers.
Shadow is crying when Maria approaches him and places a hand on his shoulder. The light and the dark meet and with tears in her eyes, Maria utters the very same words that were spoken earlier in the comic when Shadow comforted Sonic (well not the very same because they’re speaking german here but i digress)
Color returns to the pages anew and just like Sonic, we see Maria in a brand new light both symbolically and literally. All of this happens before the purple flames we saw earlier can even dissipate and when they do we see him holding Shadow, cradling the ultimate lifeform to his chest.
As we return to the present, the background gradually returns, fading in from swathes of blue. Sonic expresses his remorse for his blatant misunderstanding of Shadow’s character, crying as he holds him close.
With Shadow in his arms, Sonic restores the chaos emerald and through the chaos emerald we’re able to catch a glimpse of Sonic’s daytime form shining through and we see that at the end of the day, he’s still Sonic the Hedgehog in spite of all these changes as he and Shadow exchange a friendly glance and the scene ends.
Have I mentioned how much I love this comic? I literally cannot stop talking about this comic. The fact that you’ve been working on it for 6 years is just incredible. Thank you so much for all your hard work. I love what you’ve done with the story. This is one of my all time favorite fan works and I will never shut up about it.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading my hastily made analysis on issue 7. I love your work. I don’t really know how to end this so yeah *fucking dies*
this is so wonderfully said thank you so much augh im so happy people appreciate the complex subtext i put into my art ♥
also man. that really happened issue 7 huh. time flies. i remember drwing that scene like it was yesterday

I have a comic! Put under cut for Dragons Rising spoilers, since an important thing from the last episode is shown (kinda) vaguely!
Not really titled but here's a thing (RE!n au)
So uhh welcome to the end of the post!
This happened because I thought it would be fun to see how I could fuck up the plot of Dragons Rising with RE!n Zane but uhh. Yeah I got attached to the characters and made some lore and now this exists. Very different tone from what I originally had in mind (cosmic horror crack)!
Also, I kinda finally showed why RE!n is "notebook", as you can see the notebook in the first panel! It's magic and talks to him. But less in a weird creepy magic way and more in a group chat but nonsensically on a notebook instead way. Because of that chat (my friend and I's rp (that has lore and character development)) Zane got "mod powers" due to a very random situation we decided to put him in, and now he's slowly becoming a mod (which. Has a very flexible definition to us considering the wild variety but most of it has to do with keeping the multiverse running). He's (technically) a mortal it's going a bit differently for him but after watching DR I had the strange thought about the god egg story so uh. Yeah now this exists. You're welcome or I'm sorry

Everything I could find that points towards something being real strange with Recap Kid:
The fourth wall awareness.
They can use their fourth wall awareness to see the future by creating the comic that is currently taking place and reading ahead.
Recap Kid being able to get their hands on objects that either shouldn’t exist in that universe (the same Invader Zim comics that they appear in, a copy of Enter The Florpus, a plush Zim, etc) or do exist, but Recap Kid REALLY shouldn’t be able to have them (a Gir costume for example, which does exist in universe but only as a unique Irken disguise made by Irken technology).
They CANONICALLY have shapeshifting powers, with Recap Kid briefly changing their physical appearance at least three different times in the comics.
Recap Kid also manages to change positions at least three times in one panel while also recapping everything with only a single text box, meaning that they can move extremely fast. Fast enough to create literal afterimages.
They also have canonical creation powers, with Recap Kid creating objects out of thin air and getting rid of them just as quickly, which does answer exactly where they’re getting the things that they shouldn’t be able to have.
Recap Kid also canonically has some sort of pyrokinesis, not only creating a ring of fire around Zim and Dib on command but also creating an explosion powerful enough to destroy an Irken ship.
Recap Kid is basically unharmed after getting rammed by Zim’s Voot at full speed and also being sucked into the Massive’s heating vents.
I haven’t even mentioned the pocket dimension they live/recap things in.
There are two separate occasions where it’s implied that Recap Kid doesn’t need air to live. First they mention that they hold their breath in between every comic release. And then there’s this line in issue 40 where Recap Kid questions how the Recap Brain can sigh without air or lungs, acknowledging that the space they’re in has no air, but continuing to go around like it’s perfectly normal.
Despite being able to breathe in space, Recap Kid still wears a spacesuit when we see them in space.
On a similar note, how does Recap Kid know that the Recap Brain doesn’t have lungs?
Recap Kid only exists in ONE universe, that being the universe that the main comics take place in. They just straight up don’t exist in Enter The Florpus, the Quarterly Comics and Dookie Loop Horror.
The fucking Recap Brain. A cosmic being with godlike power that looks like Recap Kid with the same hoodie and hair, who’s job it is to observe, record and recap the multiverse.
The Recap Brain implies that they aren’t the only member of their kind while tossing Recap Kid back into the comic universe, mentioning that “only a few people [presumably other Recap Brains] even know it [the comic universe] exists.
Point is, there’s something up with this child and I refuse to believe the wiki when it lists Recap Kid’s species as “human”.
#invader zim#recap kid#this child is an eldritch abomination at LEAST#and the best theory I got before starting to dip in headcanons#is that they’re basically the larval stage of a Recap Brain#thrown into some random universe to grow up in#which explains why they only appear in the comic universe#they aren’t native to the Invader Zim universes we’ve seen
