The setting was an opulent room with soaring ceilings and gilded ornamentation, awash in a pale, ethereal glow. Its architecture hinted at a blend of classical and modern, demonstrating both grandeur and an undertone of techno-magical advancements. This was the virtual domain of The Aegis Consortium.

In the center, a round table of polished mahogany was surrounded by eight high-backed chairs, each occupied by the projected presence of the group's members. Each projection reflected their personal style and idiosyncrasies.

At one end of the table, Harrison Becks of Globex appeared. A holographic timepiece ticking away in the corner of his projection, mirroring his real-life obsession with time. Every movement was precise, each word measured.

Opposite him flickered into view Silas Fordham of Pomme Tech. His projection was accompanied by a spectral, ever-adjusting array of holographic items, creating a perfectly symmetrical aura around him, reflecting his preoccupation with aesthetic balance.

Next appeared Rupert Sterling of WinGate Technologies, his digital avatar adorned with a retro digital watch that somehow seemed to flicker and glitch in the high-tech environment, a curious counterpoint to his cutting-edge reputation.

Leonard Calibur of Pandora Armaments then shimmered into view. His muscular projection was actively engaged in an intense workout, even as he greeted the other members, the relentless dedication to fitness a testament to his military precision and tenacity.

Mortimer Haywood of Arcane Tobacco Company materialized next, a plume of ethereal smoke curling up from an illusionary cigar, his spectral smile made charmingly disarming by the fresh minty scent that seemed to emanate from his projection.

Dr. Celeste Prima of Elixir Pharmaceuticals followed, her surroundings clinically clean and shimmering with a sterilizing light. A virtual sanitizer floated beside her, sporadically casting a cleansing spray around her, emphasizing her obsession with purity.

Sebastian Plentiful of Mystic Foods was the next to join, his avatar jovially biting into a spectral apple that disappeared bite by bite. A spread of illusionary food surrounded him, his ever-changing palette reflecting the innovative nature of his industry.

Finally, Lorelei Starling of Illusion Media appeared, her holographic presence flanked by the virtual forms of her magical assistants and fantastical creatures, enchanting the already surreal meeting with a touch of whimsy.

As the last avatar settled, the room became more animated, their individual characteristics adding a unique color to the ethereal scene. With everyone present, the meeting of The Aegis Consortium had begun. As the meeting began, Leonard Calibur of Pandora Armaments came straight to the point, his muscular projection still engaged in a strenuous workout, "We have a problem. 13 is missing." The room immediately fell into an uneasy silence, each member digesting the revelation.

It was Rupert Sterling of WinGate Technologies who broke the silence, "How could this happen? She was your responsibility!"

Sitting opposite him, Harrison Becks of Globex interjected, "Enough, Sterling! Now is not the time for blame. It's happened. What's the plan, Calibur?"

"Already on it," Leonard responded, unfazed by the tension. "We've dispatched two trackers, both Phantasma Class—Nightmare Entities. They've got a tether on 13's fear. She won't escape."

Dr. Celeste Prima of Elixir Pharmaceuticals scoffed, her sterilizing light shimmering more violently, "Nightmare Entities? Really, Calibur? You've lost the girl, and now you risk exposing us by using such drastic means."

Unmoved, Leonard replied, "They are the most effective. And fear not, Prima, they appear as nothing more than men to those who can't see through the disguise."

The tension in the room mounted, the seriousness of the situation was clear. Finally, Sebastian Plentiful of Mystic Foods proposed a disconcerting solution, his spectral apple half-eaten, "And if we don't find her? We need a contingency."

Mortimer Haywood of Arcane Tobacco Company, blowing out a thick plume of ethereal smoke, offered, "What about the void theory? That unprecedented phenomenon of unseeable brightness?"

The mere mention of it stirred an uneasy shiver through the room. Such an idea, however feasible, was fraught with unknown dangers, but in dire times, drastic measures are considered. The Aegis Consortium continued their intense deliberation, aware that their iron grip on their world was beginning to slip. The atmosphere hummed with a palpable tension. Their virtual environment was painted in ethereal hues, its flowing data streams simulating an extravagant cosmic palace.

Leonard Calibur, the muscular representative from Pandora Armaments, sat with his digitally constructed arms crossed, a deep frown creasing his brow. "I still don't get this color business," he grumbled.

Dr. Celeste Prima, the composed delegate from Elixir Pharmaceuticals, turned to him with a sympathetic smile. Her avatar perfectly mirrored her real-world grace, a cascade of radiant pixels embodying her delicate movements. "Think of it like this, Leonard," she began, adopting the tone of a patient instructor. "It's about power potency."

Silas Fordham from Palm Tech, his avatar awash with vivid coding symbols, couldn't help but chuckle at his colleague's confusion. "Think of it like coding, Leonard," he chimed in, a mischievous sparkle in his digital eyes. "Cool colors, they're your low-level software. Useful but not exceedingly powerful. Your warm colors, now they're your high-level programming languages."

"And what about this 'golden starlight'?" Leonard asked, his frown deepening.

Lorelei Starling, the lively representative from Illusion Media, leaned forward, her avatar shimmering with cinematic glamor. "That, my dear Leonard, is the Hollywood star of magic. The Oscar winner, if you will. Rare, powerful, and highly sought after."

As the weight of their 'golden starlight' sorcerer's escape settled in, a heavy silence filled the digital chamber. Calibur disconnected from the Aegis meeting, a sigh escaping his lips as the digital projections vanished. "All right, folks. Got work to do," he muttered in his gruff, authoritative tone, his image fading out from the ethereal meeting room.

In his private quarters, an office that mirrored his personality, there was an air of strict discipline and stark practicality. The room was a blend of a military command center and a high-tech gymnasium, with screens displaying classified intelligence data juxtaposed with state-of-the-art training equipment.

The door to his office hissed open, and in slipped two figures - one thin and wiry, the other squat and round. Their forms were insubstantial, an undulating dance of shadows that flickered in and out of focus, their features vague and nightmarish.

"Slim. Squat," Calibur called out, addressing the shadowy figures. Their names, though simple, were fitting considering their appearances.

Calibur's normally stoic face was set in a hard frown as he addressed the duo, his dissatisfaction palpable. "What's taking so long? You're supposed to be nightmares incarnate, not a couple of lazy spirits. We're in a race against time here."

Their shadowy forms shivered in response, an indication of their understanding. Calibur's voice echoed in the high-tech office, the unspoken pressure building. The stakes were high, and there was no room for failure.

As he dismissed the two figures, his orders clear, Calibur was left in the solitude of his office. The weight of the situation pressed heavily on him, a silent reminder of the relentless chase for their rogue 'golden starlight'. Calibur pulled a sleek cigarette case from a drawer, selecting one and igniting it with a simple flick of a seemingly ordinary, but actually a magic-infused, lighter. He inhaled deeply, the smoke curling around him like another shadowy figure.

He activated a secure comm channel, the screen flickering to life with the stern faces of his special-ops team - a squad known for their brutal efficiency, and equipped with a combination of cutting-edge military tech and enchanted weaponry. They stood waiting in combat gear, magical symbols glowing faintly on their armor.

"Listen up, Echo Squad," Calibur began, his gruff voice laced with a commanding presence. "We're looking for a bird, a golden starlight. Slim and Squat are on her tail, but I want you ready to move in as soon as they locate her."

The screen filled with nods of understanding. The team was accustomed to dealing with unusual orders - the enchantments woven into their gear would protect them from most magical dangers.

"Stay alert and stay ready. That's all," Calibur concluded, extinguishing his cigarette and ending the call. Once more left to the silence of his office, he stared at the blank screen, steeling himself for the hunt that lay ahead. Seated back in his chair, Calibur looked at a young intern standing at attention on the other side of his desk. The young man was nervously shifting from one foot to another.

"You know, son," he began, leaning back and fixing the intern with a piercing gaze, "There's something to be said about power. People think it's all guns and grit, but they're wrong. Real power," he gestured towards the empty conference screen, "is outthinking your opponents, anticipating their moves. I'm on that Council because I can bring the fight to the enemy like no one else."

He took a long puff from his cigarette, his eyes lost in the smoke. "Aegis... I've clawed my way up there, and I'm not about to be the weak link. I've got ambitions too, you know. Those other industry heads, they think they're so smart. But they're forgetting one thing. The world needs security, order. And that," he pounded his chest, "is what I bring."

His eyes narrowed, and his voice dropped lower. "But it's frustrating when things don't go according to plan. When I can't just blast through problems. I might not be the smartest, but I've got instincts. They've gotten me this far. I have plans for Aegis. Big plans. And I'll be damned if some runaway bird will ruin them."

He finished his monologue with a heavy sigh, stubbing out his cigarette. Looking up at the wide-eyed intern, he seemed almost vulnerable. "Ah, that felt good. Getting it all off my chest, you know?"

Without warning, he swiftly drew his sidearm, a sleek gun with runes glowing on its surface, and without a flicker of emotion, shot the intern. As the young man crumpled to the ground, Calibur's stony expression returned.

"Always remember to eliminate potential leaks," he muttered to the lifeless body, putting away his gun and reaching for another cigarette.

Hello to the 10 people in this site that are clannibal fans! I found (and finished) this EXCELLENT piece of a fanfic and i thought i should share it with the rest of you!

The story is about rewriting the books -silence of the lambs- and -hannibal- but let me tell you, the writter did a superb job at this! 

In this scenario: Hannibal meets clarice when she is 18 and he is 38. She is still at the orphanage and wants to become an FBI agent. Hannibal is...well, hannibal, but they develop a special bond (obviously) and change each others perspective about reality. Im not gonna say a lot, only that the last chapters are full of plot twists!! (and yes, there are a lot of clannibal moments in there :3)

only thing though: the fic is in polish so ya have to use google translate.

Post-SoTL letters

So I've been thinking of writing a post SoTL Clannibal fic in which they sent letters to each other. But because my energy levels reach negative amounts, I never did it. Yesterday i found out about the theory of Solipsism and it seems our good doctor wanted to share it with Clarice (please share with me if you liked it and if you would like to read more.)

Dear Clarice

Please tell me Clarice, are you aware of the theory of Solipsism? If not, it is the idea that only one’s mind is sure to exist and that everything outside of it, external world and other minds, cannot be known and might not exist outside the mind.  While it is not widely accepted by the vox populi, I included, I would be certain that you not only exist but also enhance my own world. You are the last virtue that came out of Pandora’s Box, Hope, and I could not be gladder that you escaped of your prison. A militant spirit encompassed with the credulity of a sheep truly makes a memorable existence. But even if the theory is true and you never truly existed, you are my most perfect idea I’ve ever been able to grasp, an entity that I would never dare to abandon. I will keep carrying you within the rooms of my own mind for the rest of my existence.

Prattling sure makes time fly, please share with me your opinion about it and perhaps deign to show me a piece of your own mind palace.

Ps: I promise I will not snoop around the nearby doors but, I highly suggest you lock the ones you do not wish me to find for the time being.

Dear Dr. Lecter

I would lie if i say i wasn't touched by your remarks about me. As for the theory, my answer is that i didn't know about it, thank you for enlightening me. I find it rather absurd that existence only exists within one's mind, how can the mind of a clueless man produce the reality in which we all more or less live in? I would argue that perception of said reality can be interpreted differently depending on the individual and on what kind of path they've chosen to follow but, this is beyond my understanding.

You said that i represent the freed hope, the embodiment of every virtue that is worthy of being kept alive in this sorrowful world, your most perfect creation. And yet, how did you choose to treat this embodiment? You lied to me and used me for gaining your freedom. You manipulated me and due to that, 2 officers lost their lives. If the theory is correct, why did you choose to center yourself around despair and chaos? Why does your mind only produce horror and sorrow? The theory elevates us one step before God Himself and yet, you chose to almost show me your cruelest face.

Our meeting made me stronger, wiser, better and more confident than before so I have to answer honestly. I would never allow of myself to remain locked within no one's mind, Doctor, no matter if i were a real person or not. Be aware of that.

Ps. It's in your nature to try and unlock the locks of one's mind. You are welcome to remain in the first rooms but i will also make sure the rest of the locks are double locked

Unbeknownst to you, the secrets of your inner mechanisms have been slowly revealing themselves to me. But I suggest we rash for no revelation yet, shall we? The Cartesian egocentric view of the mind and of the physical existence ,Clarice, does not depend on your average Joe for producing the world we are living in. Solipsism rests upon that all experiences are necessarily private to the individual. Because of its “occult” or ephemeral nature, can never literally be shared. No two people can ever be said to have the same experience.( Just like our first meeting one might say. We certainly carry different memories of the same events)You know I would never lie to you (But unfortunately in that case, someone else was the first who betrayed my trust). When I say you are the embodiment of every little good virtue in this man made world I truly mean it, we both spare ourselves the use of vacant statements.You keep asking me these questions Clarice and yet, why do I feel they are directed at someone else? (perhaps someone who enjoys the destruction of the faith of His believers?). I would suggest you start unlocking those locks not for me, but for yourself. Please tell me, what does it lay behind those well kept locked doors, all dusted and hidden? Is it perhaps pent-up anger? at me for betraying your trust which was build in a manner of days or is it directed at your daddy for abandoning you, because he was so caught up with his own image of himself that a couple of hoodlums had to remind him of his place in the food chain?

I said to you back then the world is more interesting with you in it, and I still hold that belief. Your place is not being an usurper’s ownership but you belong out there, wherever you wish to be. If there is something I enjoy, it is an intellectual conversation with you. Please, don't hold back the acute criticism you so much wish to hurl at me. Ps: I found the use of the word ‘almost’ amusing. Even at your most confused state, you never dare question my appreciation for you.

Dear Dr. Lecter

I think it is time to put aside philosophy for a moment because that is not what you truly want to discuss with me. These meta-theoretical ideas were never useful to me, I had to prove myself worthy in different aspects.

You said that I am in a ‘confused state’ and yet, it is you who can not seem to decide in which end of the spectrum you fall in. You keep talking about this indescribable adulation towards me and yet, you refuse to confess you betrayed my trust. A young woman was in the hands of a serial killer you very much knew of and yet, you toyed with me and with the entire FBI for your own delectation. Υou have decried every person that has ever wronged me in your eyes or does not treat me with the respect you think i deserve and yet, you are no different than them. They view me as a fragile defective girl, not potent enough for the world of men but unfortunately to them, i proved to be more adaptable to change.  You, on the other hand, also dehumanize me. They did it for the sake of their vested interest, you did it for completing your self made image of an idealised woman.

If there is anger within me, it is for the ones who wish to deceive and harm the innocent. For those i hold no remorse or sympathy. I loved my father and no one can make me question that. And since you patronised me to do not hold back my critism, i find your speculations about me poorly executed, especially for someone who claims he has started understanding my inner world.

Let me unlock a door for you. I wish to find a person who views me as I truly am. No country girl or wounded entity. Just my name would be enough. Just Clarice. Do whatever you want with this piece of information. I have never shied away from myself and i will not start now. Ps: Our conversations can truly be meaningful when you don’t wish to stir up past emotions and regrets

I know smash bros tends to oversimplify it’s characters to fit that game better, but I am a little bummed out that so many people only know kid Icarus because of smash bros, so they assume Pit is the classic Shonen protagonist and that Dark pit is just the evil edgy clone when they are so much more and this is shown through their characters designs.

Like you said Dark pit has a very pretty color palette with his teal wings which matches his scarf and it makes for such a nice character design (and it’s a great subversion for the “dark” color schemes that we often see with this type of characters)

In a way his designs also reflects part of his personality, we assume he is going to be just an evil counterpart for Pit and we as the player controlling Pit seek to hunt Dark pit down under Palutena’s orders, but later he is shown to care about Pit and Palutena and I am pretty convinced that he in a way is Pit, just a side Pit he tends to hide (but that’s another topic from another day).

I just think it’s a shame people often tend to oversimplify and misinterpreted their characters (Pit and Dark Pit) so much when in reality they are very charming and interesting and this is surprisingly shown on their color palette, Dark pit is composed of jewel tones not dark tones and although his character has a spunk to him, he is shown to care about Pit and Palutena and even goes out of his way to help them.

He also smiled when Pit reunites with Palutena

(fun tip: I don’t think the phrase of “two sides of the same coin” was ever said on the jp version so it’s very likely that the reason Dark pit decided to help Pit and Palutenea is because he cared about them and wanted to help them out of his free will!)

the fact that tumblr now allows people to send whole-ass text posts complete with photos in through the ask box is absolutely astounding. increasing the character limit is one thing but come on.

anyway BUDDY i could talk Forever about how dark pit reflects on pit's character. obviously he's his own character who is wonderful and i love so very much but also the fact that by his mere existence he adds implied Depth to pit just by being made from the mirror of Truth. not the mirror of Darkness or Shadows or whatever other edgy thing they could've gone with, the mirror of truth.

and he says it himself! as does pandora! everything that dp is when he's created comes from pit himself, meaning that to some degree pit feels exactly how dp behaves, the only difference being that dp is just those feelings of frustration and rebellion, amplified and bundled into an entire boy.

despite what the characters say i don't buy the idea that he's disloyal to the underworld bc the mirror broke, (tho i do headcanon that that's why he looks so different; his colors got all glitched up while generating a physical form,) he's just Like That because deep down that's what pit wants to be. he loves palutena and he'd never abandon her but you cannot convince me he's never fantasized about suddenly gaining his own power of flight and just taking off, never to be pranked or made fun of or tossed around or fed to hewdraw or treated like an intern ever again.

so you put him in front of the mirror of truth, and the mirror takes a good hard look at all this repressed teenage rebellion and says "yeah i can make a boy out of that" and it makes a boy out of that, and then that boy is the best character in the game, and also does not have black wings because he's not an inversion he's just had a few sliders adjusted.

it kinda reminds me of how there's certain astronomical bodies we know exist because of how they affect the things around them, even though we've never seen the actual thing that's there. like dark matter, which now that i think about it is an awfully appropriate thing to bring up while rambling about dark pit, and i'm gonna stop here because that's Real far from the intended scope of this post. dark pit good, pit is granted extra depth because of the depth dark pit implies, haha funny hole joke, k thanks bye.
