what teams i love and hate for paige and why.

washington mystics - i rlly do love the mystics, they have tons of great pieces. i have newfound hope now that they don't have their shitty ass coach anymore + the overall management of the program is the best out of all 4 of the teams in the lottery. they're one of those teams that just need someone to distribute the ball well and i think paige could rlly provide that along with scoring. they have amazing talent, they have brittney sykes, julie vanloo (one of my favorite rookies), walker kimbrough, (tw) emily engstler, shakira austin, stef dolson, aaliyah edwards (another one of my favs), and they might even get elena delle donne back for one more season (that's if she doesn't go to the aces but i don't think she'll go if kp leaves). she's already gonna have some familiarity on the team with the uconn alumns and lili being there and i think it would just overall be a great fit + they'd be a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs.

la sparks - i actually liked the sparks at the beginning of the season, they were pretty good they beat the aces 2/4 times, again they're just one of those teams that just need a pg and someone that can score consistently. they have great pieces like hamby, rickea, and cam. with cam back they'll be much better + they're rlly young and have a good amount of potential. i'm kind of on the fence about this team because their management seems kind of all over the place, they were the first team to fire their coach and they still don't have one and apparently rae burrell has beef with paige??? don't know what happened there but that wouldn't be so great for team chemistry!! but they have nice uniforms and they're purple!

chicago sky - not too enthusiastic abt the sky, if they get paige they'd have a lot of young talent + we'd get paigegel content. the light's are on but nobody's home management wise + i hate their fuckass blue ombre 2016 uniforms. the apparent problems in the locker room scares me and i love chennedy but she's a problem child so that makes me fear for paige's life a little bit! lindsay allen's already a decent pg for them but paige would be a huge upgrade from d*na ev*ns i fear. i can't rlly see paige in a sky uniform but we move ig.

dallas wings - ngl i just don't like this fuckass team, their uniforms are ugly as fuck and their management is rlly something. their scoring is rlly efficient but they're terrible defensively. the only player we KNOW they'll have is arike and we don't even know if satou's coming back. i love arike i think she's so good but she's a huge ball hog, i can't see paige fitting in well with this team. if i'm them she's not rlly the type of player i would want. personally i think if i got the #1 pick i would go with kiki instead. i think she'll fit in the best with their system even tho she's not the best player in the draft. they're not the worst team out of the 4 but they already have people that can run the point position effectively.

Mataya Allen grew up in Ossining, New York with her mom Shannon, her dad Ray, her older brother Ray ll(RJ), and her younger brother Walker. Her dad was always on the road for basketball so she and her brothers stayed home so they could get an education and not move around that much. With that being said, they still went to a lot of his weekend games and went away with him for championships.

She was a beast in basketball, Ranked No.2 of her class, and committed to LSU where her best friend Jaylen was committing too. There, she met Angel who became like a sister to her.

She is more than grateful that she was offered a spot on the team but she was really hoping that Geno—a good friend of her dads and his basketball mentor growing up—would offer her a spot on his roster, not to mention, one of her best friends Aubrey Griffin from home was on the team. But no. Instead he offered it to Paige Bueckers.

Mataya and Paige aren't very fond of one another and they haven't been since they were 14, and the fact that Geno picked Paige over her, just made her hate Paige even more.

The girls had been battling for that #1 spot since 8th grade but Mataya suffered an injury her sophomore year of High School, and in the end, Paige got it.

Their feud could've been resolved the first time they played each other and LSU won, but they both hold grudges so that's definitely what didn't happen. Mataya would always do her best against UConn and Geno, and Paige would always do her best against LSU.

Everyone knew that the girls didn't get along- and the media took that and ran with it. In every interview, their rivalry would get brought up and they were lowkey tired of it.

The girls have been civil once, and that was the U19 USA team in 2019. They decided—for that summer—that they shouldn't make the team uncomfortable with having to pick sides or anything. The way they played together was definitely something special.

They got a little close but they wouldn't admit it. They shared a hotel room and that ended up with endless late-night conversations and decisions, but that "friendship" even if you can call it that ended as soon as they went back home.

Mataya was very close with the girls on UConn, she had known Aubrey since she started high school and they became best friends, she met Azzi on the USA team, she and Nika met at the LSU vs UConn game freshman year and they went out together after and became friends through the years and she and Caroline did a Nike commercial together and got very close. She was very familiar with the rest but those four girls are significant to her.

Mataya loves LSU so much and that's her home but recently, she felt like she needed to get out. She and Jaylen had talked about it and he said that he felt the same way.

So, Jaylen decided at the start of the season that he was using his year of eligibility and transferring. As soon as he entered the transfer portal, he got a call from Dan Hurley and he accepted the offer instantly.

Since he already knew he was leaving and Angel was going to the WNBA, the decision was made before she made it herself. She had to leave as well

Little did she know that decision was one of the best in her life.

don't come at DT's class of teammates for comparing their generational player to the current one [paige]. just because they play differently doesn't mean they aren't both combo guards/extremely versatile players with great vision

side note: I do think she is trying too hard to be physical when her whole style of play is take good looks, not contested looks

people are mad at geno for doing the same thing he's been well documented doing: forcing stars to take responsibility for the team [read/listen to any interview with sue about geno]

people are pissed at geno bc they think he's throwing the team away by playing paige off ball etc

i think the idea [sue me] is that if he can break the style of play down and build it back up with everyone consistently in sync, not just paige/sarah, they will be unbeatable once paige gets on ball

this goes back to his whole thing preseason "we can't just watch paige play" which means everyone has to play. and forcing paige off ball means forcing everyone to play

now, are some people more successful at this than others? yes. in my head, every position in basketball can be a playmaker, but not every player on uconn is one right now

we are seeing who is [jana/morgan, outside of the usual suspects] and who is not

the second you have a healthy azzi the spacing changes completely and everything they need is there, and you'll have 3 playmakers on the court at any given time [this is what we like to call the bec allen issue, though in the mercury's case it's not about not having playmakers but having someone who can play the 4]

I also think that part of this season is developing players for next season. however, I think they have a big 3 for the next 3 years, a big 3 that has the potential to all go in the first round in sarah jana and morgan.

Jetzt mit dem neu erschienenen Kapitel von “Curse of Lazarus” steht jetzt Interlude III an aka. Vals Vorstellungskapitel, bei welchem Val versuchen wird alles in seiner Macht stehende zu tun, um die Hochzeit seiner großen Schwester nicht zu versauen 👀 Zudem wird es nach dem dritten Interlude noch ein weiteres kleines Kapitelchen für die restlichen NCs geben 🥰 aber danach wird es richtig losgehen :3 Inzwischen haben auch alle 5 Epen ihren Namen und eine grobe Handlung in die es gehen soll ✨

+ Derya Katrakis: hatte eigentlich überlegt gehabt Derya für “Goodby and good luck” zu erstellen aber Zeitmanagement hat mir ein bisschen einen Strich durch die Rechnung gemacht 🥲 sie war als Türk-Griechin geplant welche ursprünglich aus einem kleinen Hafenstädchen an der Ägäisküste stammt und sich eigentlich erhofft hatte den großen Traum fernab ihrer Heimat leben zu können. Ihrer Familie zu beweisen dass sie mehr als eine Mädchen mit zu großen Träumen ist. Aber ein abgebrochenes Studium und sehr viele Spielschulden später sieht das ganze nicht ein bisschen anders aus. Girlypop ist in eine gambling addiction gefallen und nachdem das große “L” Wort in ihrer Beziehung gefallen ist, weiß sie nicht in was sie mehr ertrinkt. Schulden oder das Commitment für das sie nicht bereit ist.

+ Timothy “Ace” Ambrose McCowan aka Paige: genderfluid wannabe Rockstar welcher die “Hannah Montana” Schiene fährt wenn auch mit weitaus weniger Erfolg, dafür aber mit weitaus mehr anxiety and depression. Gelangweilter Sekretär bei Tag und erfolglose Rock-Diva bei Nacht. Aber hey immerhin finanzieren Mommy und Daddy den Versuch die Musikkarriere in Schwung zu bringen. Wenn auch ohne es zu wissen. Keine Ahnung wann die das letzte mal mit ihrem jüngsten Gesprochen haben, aber solange Ace keine Schwierigkeiten macht haben sie ohnehin immer besseres zu tun.

- Story’s (???)

An sich bin ich mit Curse of Lazarus mehr als genug beschäftigt und ich habe auch nicht vor irgendwas zu veröffentlichen, aber vage Ideen oder eher Träumereien seien einem gegönnt. Ich meine, ich hab absolut keine Idee was die genaueren Details angehen und das ganze basiert primär auf Blödeleien die eine Freundin und ich vor ein paar Monaten hatten. Kurz gesagt war es eine My Hero Akademia MMFF welche sich mit den ersten Jahren nachdem Quirks aufgetaucht sind befasst. Es soll so ein bisschen um die ersten “Helden” gehen welche zu dem Zeitpunkt noch außerhalb des Rechtssystem sind und mehr Vigilants als wirkliche Helden sind. Außerdem soll die Story m einbisschen mit dem schmalen Grad zwischen Hero und Villain Seilspringen 😂 aber wie gesagt bis jetzt ist der Satz “first years of Quirks mit schmaler grad zwischen Hero und Villain” und eine grobe Charakter Idee alles was hier existiert.

Es gibt auch ein, zwei Prosa Ideen die ich habe aber die sind jetzt auch nicht unbedingt mehr als eine prämisse, vage Charakterkonzepte und world building.
