i know i've been very culty on here about period underwear and reusable period products in general whenever i've brought up the topic in the last year or so but i mean it sincerely. i have never spent my money on a product that just simply improved my life so much. game-changing isn't even the beginning of it. i look forward to how much better my periods are now since i no longer have to depend on gross disposables. period underwear is the shit
#the best thing is it doesn't even feel wet. it doesn't even feel wet#like when you're a kid and you're new at it and all you can think about is how much you dont wanna be on your period anymore#and how much you wanna go back to just wearing your underwear like a normal day#with period underwear. you're just wearing underwear. and it DOES feel like a normal day#menstruation cw#other than y'know you're continuously bleeding and maybe you have cramps or whatever#other than having a kinda swimsuity texture (cant think of a better way to describe it) it just feels like underwear#it's JUST underwear#tales from diana#i mean im not even on my period rn although i am getting closer to it#i just bought ordered some new stuff and once this comes in. i'll be disposable-pad free forever#like i could cry about that#including some cloth pads (ive never tried them before)#i figured i could keep one or two of those in my purse or whatever for emergencies#the ONLY (and i mean only) inconvenient thing about period underwear is that it's much less convenient to just change or put on in public#on light or moderate days for me at least they can last the whole day. on heavy days it's good to change every 12 hours#and i can typically depend on doing that at home#but if i have a cloth pad for emergencies then i never have to rely on a disposable EVEN IN THE CASE that my period comes unexpectedly.#i mean it like i'm genuinely excited about this#i have only mentioned it a handful of times to friends in the year-plus that i bought that first pair of thinx#but i would literally buy any of my friends who menstruate a pair or a pack if they asked#like im very passionate about what a life improvement it has been#why do you think i'm always vag-angelizing about it these days?

using the school bathroom stealth but pre-t is the scariest fucking thing but thusfar it's always been fine. mostly sucks on my period
#today i had to flush a pad down the toilet 😔😔#which is really bad ik but my only other option was reach into the toilet to fish it out and there was no way in hell#bc it had come loose and so when i sat on the toilet it fell in and. yeah#anyway good lord it's always so nerve-racking using the school bathrooms#period or not#in fact regular pissing may be more scary bc i always have to sit on the toilet whereas changing tampons i can usually stand facing the#toilet and keep my pants up and just switch n wrap the used one in a shitton of toilet paper to put in a bin elsewhere#my main source of anxiety comes from the not super substantial stall privacy#and this cute little things the kids at my old school did where they took photos under the stalls 🥰#which never happened to me thankfully but like. good lord lmao#also never happened at this school as far as i know but it still scares me#also today i sat down on wet grass and i was freaking out all class thinking my underwear and legs were soaked from bleeding through#but no actually it was fine! tampon+toilet paper+pad triple layer barrier juuust kept things under control#fuck my heavy periods man#anyway look i'm so lucky and so much happier being stealth here than cosplaying as a girl at my old school#i am infinitely happier i really can't emphasise how much better i am doing now living as a guy#BUT man some aspects are a pretty tricky

My period is over a week late now and it would be an actual, biblical miracle for me to be pregnant. I was TRYING to find out when I need to actually bring this up to medical attention and most sources are like "period late, take pregnancy test!"
#bark bark bark#i'm starting to wonder if I've got some hormone thing going on#since about december I've been putting a lot of weight on in my mid region specifically#which isn't a region i've had a history of heavy fat pads on#plus ive had some increase of facial hair on my chin#im not on any meds to cause this#I don't THINK it's PCOS because I typically have normal periods and they don't typically have extreme symptoms associated with them#i'm hesitant to go to a dr because I KNOW the first diagnosis would be overweight and just prescribe weightloss#when i actually started putting on weight after this started#like how often is weight gain diagnosed as the problem when it's actually a symptom of the actual problem?

Today on people need to be clearer when talking about menstrual health:
The definition of "Heavy Bleeding" needs to be more descriptive. Every place I've seen it talked about only defines it with how frequently you soak your pad/tampon
For the first time today I saw blood clot size referenced and hey if you are having blood clots larger than like a grape you probably also have heavy bleeding! Congratz!
#martian ramblings#menstruation#menstrual health#endometriosis#back before i was on meds to stop it I would have multiple large clots that never made it to my pad#because they would be stuck in my vagina until I could make it to a toilet#and since my periods were primarily clots my pads would only have to be changed like a couple times a day#so i didn't think I had heavy bleeding#i mean i also thought the clots were the period#i was like 'oh ok the bloods solid i wasn't expecting that but they also said it was related to our eggs and this looks like a yolk'#my prescription for the drugs that stop my period is up to i need to talk to my gynecologist again#so i'm arming myself with knowledge because every doctor seems to be dismissing my health concerns#despite my periods being debilitating in pretty much every possible way#back in college there were brief moments i genuinely wished for death for the pain to stop#and the meds are working#like these are miracle drugs#but i'm concerned we're just putting a rug over a problem and hoping it goes away
