Hey guys. I'm so sorry, trying to sell some commissions but they are not getting picked up. I am feeling a bit antsy; my dad has been experiencing some really worrying symptoms like his arm going numb, fatigue for no reason, chest pains and I have been trying to get him to go to hospital because he has had heart problems for 5 years now. Would absolutely love jf anyone can please help me foot bills because my dad refuses to go to hospital as he doesn't want to "burden" me;;
Feeling a bit anxious as my work deadline is very tight rn to the point I might lose my job if I miss it; am feeling scared and desperate. Any help I deeply appreciate as the year closes;;
Will post my print store and patreon too later; I just have to finish cleaning the house rn
Sorry anything helps and happy holidays everyone

it's extremely critical that you see the photo of the perp walk for luigi mangione as being propaganda. i've seen so many people wave it off and instead fawn over his looks. and trust me, i know it ended up being kind of pathetic and weird - but please don't brush it off as a "modelling opportunity" for him. it's a fucking terrifying message the police are sending.
i want to make a few comparisons here, in case you're not from the US or familiar with why the perp walk thing is something to pay attention to. just to set the groundwork for why this is a purposeful, unusual, and cruel act by the nyc police - for why this is not a common occurrence and for why that matters.
the prosecution alleges the show of force is due to the charge of "terrorism." for comparison, in june 2015, tsarnaev was found guilty for the boston marathon bombing, which killed 3 people and injured hundreds. his actions are considered to be an act of domestic terrorism. i have spent the last hour looking through google for pictures of similar to mangione's perp walk - and so far, i have found zero. i also just do not personally remember a moment like that, despite living in boston at the time.
they allege that luigi is a stone-cold killer who carried out a longterm plan, making him particularly dangerous. again for comparison: in nyc, recently cory martin was found guilty of the killing of brandy odom. the murder was planned and premeditated to steal insurance money. and yet no staged perp walk. why didn't her life matter enough for a "show of force"?
but mangione gets paraded by a veritable army of police officers as if he is a rabid animal. for a single citizen who allegedly killed one other single citizen, the "largest perp walk ever" occurs.
so what is the "strong message" that the mayor and the police were trying to send here? the mayor speaks as if mangione is already convicted of terrorism. there is a very thin number of people who feel threatened by the CEO's death. none of us felt like mangione needs to be under massive armed guard.
the message is that you shouldn't resist. they are trying to "make an example" of him - that if you behave badly and kill a single rich person, you'll be treated as if you killed hundreds of people. you will be treated worse than a man who was found guilty of terrorism. you will be considered guilty without trial. the message is that the rich are a protected class, and you cannot touch them without massive punishment. they are trying to prevent a revolution by showing dominance and force against you.
the message is that the police are a puppet of the wealthy and that the law is not equally applied across class disparity. it is "some are more equal than others." it is "one life is more precious than another."
the show of force wasn't for luigi. it was for us. it was a warning. they are trying to remind us who is really in control.

I am sorry to ask for help again but I’m wigging out and I don’t know what to do lol so I recently replaced two tires on my car and then had the pressure fixed for the other two until I could afford to replace those as well. One of those tires blew over the weekend like it was just waiting to spite me. Thankfully I have roadside assistance with my insurance so they put on my spare, but I will need to replace it soon. My insurance does not recover replacement tires.
I work from home so I can wait for a new tire. My issue is that I have a pending auto payment for a bill about to hit my bank account that is 100% going to overdraft me. I’ve requested payment assistance for this bill so much that I 1.) can’t use it automatically anymore and 2.) can’t turn off autopay without a phone call. This happened on the weekend, when the servicer was closed. When I called on Monday, they said they can’t reverse the payment at this point. I just started a new job. I only work two days this week with no holiday pay. I live in income based housing and my rent is going to go up once they get my paystubs. I can come back from eating the overdraft or replacing this tire, but I can’t come back from both. I save for rent from all my paychecks and I will be late because of this week’s pay.
I know this is a horrible time to ask with the holidays. I don’t expect to meet this goal but anything would help. I live in a highly rural area where I as a single childless adult do not qualify for most social support programs. I have exhausted all resources available to me, my housing included, and cannot ask my family for help without major negative consequences that I frankly am too fragile to deal with right now. If and only if you have the money to spare, I would appreciate help covering this bill so I’m not starting the new year off in a bad spot. It would put me $117.70 in the hole with a $35 fee for every day I don’t fix it after the one day grace period. I’m moominhands on cshapp and vnmo, putting screenshots behind the cut

more photos of this skirt when it was finished!
the bodice was pieced with a triangle front to serve as the top of the "tree" and has ribbon loops stitched along the bottom edge which I zip tied more of the pine garland to so it covers the waistband of the skirt and makes it look like a single piece.
the bodice has boning and bust cups in it and all that jazz (video about it here).
weirdly the most frustrating part of this entire thing was trying to sew very stiff ribbon onto very cheap gloves in parallel lines haha!

On an August afternoon, Pablo stared down at a foam plate sloshing with flavorless pinto beans and a particularly bad version of huevos a la Mexicana. The simple, usually delicious scramble of eggs, tomatoes, onions and jalapeños is difficult to mess up. But if anyone can find a way to make it unpalatable, it’s the cook at his labor camp. Soupy eggs are the last thing the 42-year-old from western Mexico wants to eat. But after a 12-hour day harvesting tobacco in the brutal and sometimes deadly summer heat, he must eat – and this was far from the worst meal he’s been given. A few weeks ago, fellow farm workers got sick due to raw and moldy food they were forced to purchase. On days like this, Pablo can’t decide which is worse: that he’s forced to pay $80 a week for this slop, or that everything about what he eats, when he eats and how much he eats is tightly controlled by his employer. Pablo, who is using a pseudonym due to fear of retaliation, is one of more than 35,000 migrant workers in North Carolina this year as part of the H-2A Temporary Agricultural Worker Program, a guest visa program overseen by the US Department of Labor (DoL). The program enables American employers to hire foreign workers to perform seasonal agricultural work. Employers in the program frequently exploit their migrant employees, and the structure of the program makes easy work of it. Visas are tied to a single employer who must also provide housing, transportation and access to food, creating a crushing power imbalance between American employers and migrant H-2A workers.
