I have started a colourful diamond drawing a couple of days ago, because I was really in the mood for some intricate, detailed work. I have realized that I prefer drawing details, rather than just filling in bigger spaces of colour, because precision has always been my thing. I like working slowly and at a smaller scale, because I get bored easily with the same piece 😅. Took this photo with my phone this time, I was too tired to take out my Canon, and it's nice to be able to just add it directly to Instagram from my phone. I am still a bit disappointed with my work recently, I am not very happy with my progress, even though I really loved my Lily Collins portrait. I still feel my work lacks that artistic feel, and I will try my best to get so much better at it. Thank you all for the constant support, it means alot to me. 💙 . From Instagram

Working on a dog for my last subject with UC Berkeley’s @berkeley_olli Animals in Mixed Media class. I am using Lux Archival sanded paper which is extra gritty but smooth at the same time. I’m trying to decide if the gritty effect bothers me enough to try to blend it down with Gamsol which this late in the game could end of losing some of the details. Gamsol should be used more at the early stages to help fill in the tooth of the paper but I was having too much fun adding in the fur strokes! The photo reference is at the end and comes from Pixabay. Whoo-whee is this Highland Cow challenging but super duper fun! Stepping outside of my Prismacolors with this one and used a variety of different colored pencils which gave me much more freedom in layering!
