And here is my finished "Palace of Medusa" based on the artwork of the same name by @patrickjjonesillustrator sculpted by the team @mindwork.studio I fell in love with this as soon as I saw it! Painting this was quite possibly the most work I have ever done on a piece, with numerous layers going into each element and glazing to try to get as much depth as I could without making it look overdone. I loved the original and wanted to show it while amplifying the colour so it could be seen at its smaller scale, which proved to be quite challenging! I really hope you enjoy this piece as much as I do and I also hope that it might get some sort of achievement at the @qld_model_hobbies_expo in August, so if you are in the Brisbane area and are attending the event you can see this amazing piece as well as some of my other works in person! Here is Gwynevel from the "Guardians of the Fey" Bundle, This one has a lot of elements that you have to bring together for it to work, there are vines everywhere! But they can't just be green or it would overcrowd it and not too much brown because it would be too flat, I also wanted to do the batches of flowers different colours to encompass the 'whole of nature' I think so far this one is my favourite! The last piece from a commission set for the team over at @dm.stash! Here is Steampunk Barbarian Artificer Eyrik from the "Fire & Fey" Bundle, now this guy is cool! Even without paint! I don't think I have ever thought of a Barbarian Artificer before, the biggest thing with this guy is trying to incorporate Steampunk, Engineer, Barbarian, and Artificer! He had to be leather clad with lots of copper and brass but also grimy like he doesn't mind getting his hands ( and claw…) dirty! The finished product certainly looks like someone you wouldn't want to cross but also have on your side in a fight! I kind of see a bit of myself in this one! On the 14th of January 2023, I was fortunate enough to take part in my first-ever painting class led by the talented Natalia Oracz @oracz.art at Irresistible Force @irresistible_force_games in Tanah Merah. We were instructed on the fundamentals of miniature painting, from the power of sketching and colour theory to manipulating a static sculpture with skin tones and subtle highlights and shadows. On top of that, Natalia taught us the finer details of the craft, from painting hair to the intricacies of NMM. Not only was Natalia an excellent teacher, but she was also incredibly supportive of each member of the class, regardless of their skill level. She was generous with her time and knowledge, and I was able to gain a lot of insight into the miniature painting world. I was also lucky enough to meet some amazing artists in the class, including @mischa_paints_minis, @mascott.miniatures, @josh_underhill8, and @seonavanderpol. I highly recommend giving their accounts a follow if you're interested in miniature painting. Finally, I'd like to extend my thanks to Natalia, her partner, Trent, and the team at Irresistible Force for organizing and hosting the class. I had an amazing time, and I won't hesitate to recommend or take one of Natalia's classes again in the future. Here is some shots of the present I made for my niece @ra1_177 , this is the character Arthur Leywin from "The beginning after the end" I have no idea what it is but know it is the favourite at the moment! Here is Fey-touched Faun Goddess Renmaeth from the "Devine Awakening" Bundle, Ok, Ok, I thought that Thilinos was a difficult one, I stand corrected, This one has so much detail, possibly the most detail I have ever seen in a 32mm miniature, you can see the size of the dice, that’s a normal sized D20!!!! Although it was crazy to paint it was still fun, lots of little things add up to an awesome finish, I definitely want to have a go at painting the 75mm version of this.
