In your Patroclus champion AU, how did he end up there as compared to the canon? I’d be interested about his general attitude as well, since in canon he’s very subdued (presumably from what he’s been through and his sips from the Lethe). Did he care about being champion before Zagreus came along, or was it just something to do and make him feel somewhat alive again?

But we kinda just. Took him and gave him a little wrath, y'know? (Achilles died of it, Patroclus, made of memory and grief, can still feel its echoes. He wakes in Elysium bitter) Enough that when he heard of the current champion being lauded as one of the greatest warriors, calling himself the best of the Greeks, heard of his blonde hair and winning smile, a bit of it spurned him on into checking if the man he's been searching for this whole time was really just at the arena throwing it down with anyone who came by
