In 1942, a man had suddenly found himself aboard a ship on the Atlantic during World War II. He could only remember his name and where he was born. He did not remember anything else including how he got on the ship, but he was certain of one thing… that the ship was going to be hunted down and sunk by a U- Boat. He was in his own personal hell courtesy of… The Twilight Zone ("Judgment Night", The Twilight Zone, TV)

Thoughts on Owen? I’ve been rewatching the og 3 seasons and seeing the change from finalist to gag character is weird
Owen is my Roman Empire.
He started off as an actual character in Island, which is a given since he was pre-determined to be a finalist from the get-go. Owen's always been a big personality of the series, with his (sometimes overbearing) friendliness and boisterous attitude, accompanied by his many many character flaws. But, at least in Island, he was realistically written- or as realistic as the show could do, given its parameters. He gets to have moments where he actually forms bonds and friendships with others on screen, and where his character flaws actually impact the challenge instead of being played off as jokes (like him luring in a bear with his hunting stories).
Owen's character traits were gradually reduced from being an optimistic and somewhat naïve, but otherwise standard teenage boy (of the time) to being a flanderisation of a golden retriever. In World Tour especially, he's rarely given any lines that don't somehow relate to his love of food, his flatulence or his fear of flying. For the span of an episode or two, he gets to focus on his feelings for Izzy (and he also gets some throwaway lines about his friendship with Noah and his trust-turned-distrust of Alejandro), but otherwise he's pretty self-contained as comedic relief.
He stops being a multi-faceted character and starts being a one-dimensional imitation of himself. And it's a shame, since Owen's one of the funniest characters to both watch and write for, so stripping him of a lot of his substance for the sake of delegating him to the role of background character, instead of just eliminating him early (since he didn't really have any use in World Tour outside of his aerophobia "plotline" and Izzy's elimination), seems like a waste of both his character potential and the potential of others.
And, one thing I noticed upon re-watching Island, even his voice becomes a sort-of mockery of what it started out as. No shade to Scott McCord, he does a fantastic job with his VA work- especially on Total Drama, where his characters are all distinctly different sounding. But really, go back and listen to Owen in early Island, and then listen to him in WT or RR- that's an entirely different cadence. He loses a lot of the scratchiness in his voice, and it raises a solid three or four semitones into something almost childish- once again playing into Owen's erosion from a fairly normal teenage boy into the caricature of naivety he eventually becomes.
We do get to see some of his original characterisation shine through in certain moments- there's a few lines he has in WT where Owen gets to be a little sassy or even somewhat confrontational, which is such a breath of fresh air from his usual airheaded happiness or aerophobia-fuelled terror. But he loses a lot of his season one charm with his delegation to the background; show me the Owen who's fun-loving, sure, but also a bit of a menace! Show me the Owen who's more than just the butt of a joke (pun intended)!

TOTAL DRAMA ISLAND REBOOT SEASON 2 SPOILERS
Tumblr media
Keep in mind: I said ITALIAN Voice Actor because I already know that there's gonna be people saying that it's still Scott McCord. Anyway, I don't know if calling it 100% a change considering the new VA also voiced Owen in Dramarama, but still. It's so disappointing. Now I know how English fans felt with Chris' VA change (Although I don't condone the harassment given to Terry for that)

Hemo Marrow, son of Monster Blood!
Hemo Marrow Son of Monster Blood
Parent
Monster Blood
Age
16
Killer Style
Don’t have one. I usually don’t care about how I look. As long as it’s passably clean and I feel good in it, that’s all that matters.
Freaky Flaw
I’ve been told that I’m kinda lazy. It’s  not my fault most important things are so boring.
Pet
Rex. Now lemme tell you, he is a BIG dog. Like you know those books about the big red dog? That’s how big we’re talking. His doghouse is as big as our own house!
Favorite Activity
If you don’t count my love of eating, I love to collect toys, especially ones from the 90’s. Game Boy? Check. Tamagotchis? Check. Etch-a-Sketch? Check!
Pet Peeve
Airline food. For some reason it just doesn’t agree with me.
Favorite Subject
Skullinary Arts. You get to learn how to make food and you get to eat it when you’re done. I say that’s a win-win! Also Study Howl, it’s a good opportunity to chill out after a long class.
Least Favorite Subject
Maths. Like I know it’s important, but I’m already halfway asleep by the time we finish one problem. Such a snorefest…
Favorite Color
Green
Favorite Food
How can I choose? I’ll eat (almost) anything!
Friends
Ichorus Marrow (OC, Cousin) Maxillae "Max" Carpal (OC) Gulliver Earlmand (OC) Deuce Gorgon
Abilities
Large Appetite Like his parent, Hemo can eat much more than other monsters. He can even eat stuff that is normally inedible without negative consequences.
Skillset
Competitive Eating
hanks in large part to his large appetite, Hemo easily surpasses most monsters in terms of eating quantity. Making him an easy winner in eating competitions. Collecting Hemo has been known to collect a wide array of toys, his favorites of which coming from the nineties.
Personality
Hemo’s personality is as simple as his fashion choices, in that he is chill, laid-back, carefree, and mostly just goes with the flow. Chill as he is, he’s also passionate, especially in the worlds of eating and collecting old toys. However, he is the lazy sort, often only giving minimal effort for things he cares little for (ex: schoolwork) and tends to procrastinate on important tasks, often leaving them until the last minute. When it comes to eating, he can be rather greedy, usually trying to take as much food as he can before the others can even get a finger on it.
Trivia/Additional Information
Both his first and last name are references to blood. As “Hemo” is a prefix meaning anything relating to the blood and “Marrow” references bone marrow, where blood is made. Hemo’s headcanon voice actor is Scott McCord, who voices Owen in the Total Drama franchise. His dislike for airline food is a reference to the Goosebumps TV episode “More Monster Blood”, where airline food was how the protagonists were able to defeat the Monster Blood by making it sick. His dog, Rex, is based on Evan’s (the protagonist of the Monster Blood series) dog Trigger. Like Trigger, Rex is also named after a horse that starred in films. It is also a play on Tyrannosaurus Rex, as Rex is about as big as one. His birthday is September 12th. The month coming from the month the first Monster Blood book was published. The day comes from the book Monster Blood for Breakfast, where in that book the Monster Blood was a “12 Hour Trial Strength” version. This makes him a Virgo. His interest in collecting toys references the fact that in the first Monster Blood book, the Monster Blood was found in an old toy store.

Tim Holt, Humphrey Bogart, and Walter Huston in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (John Huston, 1948)
Cast: Humphrey Bogart, Walter Huston, Tim Holt, Bruce Bennett, Barton MacLane, Alfonso Bedoya, Arturo Soto Rangel, Manuel Dondé, Jose Torvé, Margarito Luna. Screenplay: John Huston, based on a novel by B. Traven. Cinematography: Ted D. McCord. Art direction: John Hughes. Film editing: Owen Marks. Music: Max Steiner.
It's always shocking to realize that Humphrey Bogart failed to be nominated for an Oscar for his performance as the bitter, paranoid Fred C. Dobbs, the anti-hero of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. I mean, who today remembers some of the performances that were nominated instead: Lew Ayres in Johnny Belinda (Jean Negulesco)? Dan Dailey in When My Baby Smiles at Me (Walter Lang)? Clifton Webb in Sitting Pretty (Lang)? To the Academy's credit, John Huston won as both director and screenwriter, and his father, Walter, won the supporting actor Oscar -- the first instance of someone directing his own father to an Academy Award for acting -- which his smartly delineated old coot certainly deserved. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre has a generosity of characterization in both the screenplay by John Huston from B. Traven's novel and the performances of Bogart, Walter Huston, and Tim Holt. Let's also put in a word for Holt, who had one of the odder careers of a potential Hollywood star: He gave good performances in some of the best movies to come out of the studios in the 1940s, including The Magnificent Ambersons (Orson Welles, 1942) and My Darling Clementine (John Ford, 1946), and was a handsome and capable presence in them. But even after working for Welles, Ford, and Huston, after The Treasure of the Sierra Madre he went back to performing in B-movie Westerns, which had been the stock in trade of his father, Jack Holt (who has a small part as a flophouse bum in this film). Tim Holt's heart seemed not to be in the movie business, and he retired to his ranch, making only a few appearances after 1952. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre was mostly filmed on location -- a rarity for the time -- in the state of Durango and the town of Tampico, Mexico. (Some scenes had to be shot in the studio, of course, and it's easy to spot the artificial lighting and hear the sound stage echoes in these, which don't match up to the ones Ted McCord filmed on location.)

Owen used to be such a problem child and it’s hella funny how the fandom rarely ever mentions it.
Owen was an absolute troublemaker as a kid and he confessed this in one of the td aftermath episodes where he was strapped to an electric chair. He immediately blown into full panic mode and proceed to ramble on about terrible things he did to avoid being electrocuted. (I would’ve done the same thing too ngl).
Like cheated on his math exam, gluing his uncle’s hair to a petting zoo animal, kicked his little brother down the stairs and blamed it on his other brother, ate all the food at fat camp then had to be escorted out by police, made fake vomit and poured it down on his classmates and teachers.
Owen having a rebellious phase is so fascinating to me and the writers could’ve at least saved it as an aspect to his personality.
