Maybe it was the hot weather or the uneven sand but these push presses felt extra heavy today! - I did 5 sets of 5 reps and it felt great to pump some iron at the beach. - Sand makes everything harder but it’s always a fun challenge to use uneven platforms to perform any lift. It forces you to stabilize the movement a lot more. - Next time you are at the beach try to sprint, jump and carry heavy stuff. - It might not sound that hard but once you actually start running on the sand you realize how much more extra work you got to do in order to battle the sinking sand. - Life is never one dimensional and training outside of the gym forces you to train for life and adapt to an ever changing environment. - 👉🏽 When is the last time you did a workout outside of the gym? Building lean muscle and strength through a weekly undulation of loading. Today was a higher volume day working 5x5 with around 0.70-0.65 m/s with tempo being 5 second eccentric and explosive concentrics. Utilizing the VBT also to give me feedback on how fast I’m exploding upwards out of the hole.
