my really hot political take: i literally do notttt give a shit when it comes to worrying about illegal immigrants. like if you manage to get into the states and find a job and make a living for yourself here then you might as well be a natural-born citizen. if someone is willing to risk them and their family's lives to settle in ohio of all places then be my guest

Not falling back into old habits. Blending into society and pretending to be American is much harder than one might imagine, especially after being experimented on. Khare didn't lose her memories; in fact her past memories are quite vivid and now that her biology has changed, it's grown harder to learn new things. Handling a different currency, spelling differences between American English and British English, Khare constantly has to stop and think about what she's doing as so not to stand out. She's gotten better at masking her differences and the fact she's really not supposed to still be in the country but every so often she has to wait a minute for her brain not lapse back into muscle memory.

Billionaire Tesla and X owner Elon Musk, President-elect Donald Trump's chief financier, on Wednesday sparked MAGA backlash after defending visas for foreign tech workers.
South African-born Elon Musk was once an immigrant to the U.S., illegally overstaying his visa to build a future here. He employs hundreds of foreign-born engineers at his Tesla and SpaceX companies and says they fill a shortage of American-born workers.
Musk called a shortage of “excellent engineering talent” a “fundamental limiting factor in Silicon Valley” in a Wednesday tweet, arguing that immigrant labor is an essential ingredient in American innovation and warning of a "dire shortage of extremely talented and motivated engineers in America."
“If you force the world’s best talent to play for the other side, America will LOSE. End of story,” Musk replied to critics.

Ahmed F. needs funds to escape genocide
Ahmed has evacuated Gaza, but the fight isn't over yet. He's in Egypt, but he has overstayed his visa. Without a work or study visa there's nothing he can do to keep himself afloat except rely on donations. He is trying to leave for Italy, where he has a full scholarship; but he needs visa fees, travel fees, and food and lodging until he can leave Egypt.
I can only imagine that Egypt is a very hostile environment for refugees who overstay visas. Having a safe place to go to is just as important in escaping genocide as being able to leave.
$1,073 / $1,250 of total goal
You can help by sending donations to venmo @gothhabiba, paypal paypal.me/Najia, or cashapp $NajiaK, with note "concert"
A donation of $15 USD or more can get you a ticket to an electro-chamber concert with me and my best friend Divya. We will hang out, we will answer questions, we will have fun!

Back to 1939 with the sign of a pen 😒
Most "illegal" immigrants have just overstayed their visa. So the government should already have most of the immigrants records on hand.
And those that didn't come in through official means aren't gonna themselves over to be given a discriminatory marker at best and put in GitMo at worst.
Also calling them "aliens"? Really? Official government pages using derogatory language towards immigrants (legal and illegal alike)

Help Mutwakel's Studies & Passion for Music
€1,675/€5,200
This campaign was been shared by Sara (bsonblast)
"Mutwakel is a musician from Sudan. After the war erupted, he sought refuge in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, hoping to find a safe space to continue his work and studies in music. Unfortunately, due to war, he lost most of his belongings, savings, and work. But despite these regressions, he is determined to pursue his passion for music. He is a passionate musician and cultural activist with a strong love for music and a desire to continue his studies at a music school in Addis Ababa for the similarities in music and culture between the two nations of Sudan and Ethiopia. We’re reaching out to ask for your support in overcoming a challenging situation that stands between him and his future and career.
He’s facing a significant hurdle with his visa status in Ethiopia, which requires urgent attention. The fines for overstaying are increasing daily. He has to fix his visa status, secure a student visa, and cover his tuition fees, accommodation, and living expenses. Your support will not only help stabilize his life and situation but also give him the necessary tools and resources to succeed as a student and a musician."
Please donate and share to support Mutwakel's journey on his path to becoming a musician!

Unbiased: Not ALL undocumented immigrants are "criminals"
Disclaimer: I am neither Republican nor Democrat; everything is purely factual and unbiased.
Before jumping to conclusions about immigration, I ask that you set aside any personal biases and simply hear me out. My goal isn’t to persuade you to take a particular stance on immigration policy but rather to provide accurate, fact-based information.
A common misconception in the U.S. is that all undocumented immigrants are criminals simply because they are in the country unlawfully. However, that’s not entirely true.
Entering the U.S. without legal authorization—such as crossing the border unlawfully—is a federal crime. Anyone who enters the country this way has committed a criminal offense and is a criminal.
However, not all undocumented immigrants entered illegally. Some originally came to the U.S. through legal means, such as on a visa, but later overstayed. While overstaying a visa is a violation of immigration law, it is considered a civil offense, not a criminal one—similar to receiving a speeding ticket. Breaking the law in this way does not make someone a criminal in the legal sense.
In summary, many undocumented immigrants lawfully entered the U.S. but became undocumented after their visa expired, meaning they never committed a crime. On the other hand, those who entered the country without authorization did break the law in a criminal sense.
So no, not all undocumented immigrants are criminals.

So. If this is real, and the guy who shot trump is a fucking suburban Republican... Huh.
I don't even know what to do with this. A white suburban Republican who as far as I can tell isn't an immigrant (different from initial reports that I saw, a British citizen who overstayed a visa)
I'm. Huh. I mean this is kind of weirdly the best case scenario for like messaging I guess? Like any attempt to pin this on muslims or people of color or immigrants or leftists or the Democratic party is going to be particularly difficult. Obviously the spin is what matters, they'll still try to blame it on those groups and I'm sure the hardest of hard core maga chuda will believe whatever they believe, but thats one less thing.
I still think that picture alone is enough to rip things to Trump optics-wise, but this is genuinely an interesting development.
