You guys ever have an image that just didn’t want to turn out no matter what you did, but you were stubborn and were like; fuck it, I’m finishing this even if it's the worse piece ever? This is it for me. I think the final product is passible though a bit busy (and one of a kind as I used to do many different brushes, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to remember them all). I tried to make the lines look like the image was done with an ink pen. Anyhow, this is my first version of Overblotted Silver.

Silver’s armor is based on Aurora’s blue outfit. His colors are from Aurora when she was hypnotized by Maleficent. He’s supposed to be slumped over and look hollow, like an empty shell without hope, as he’s lost everything he once fought for. This is partly inspired by old Prince Phillip when Maleficent promises to let him go after a hundred years. I wanted to be able to show Silver without the ink stains but messed up my layering and it was too late to fix it when I noticed. This was my first time drawing a horse, and I just couldn’t find the reference I needed so winged it and this is the result. The horse’s hair is based on Sleeping Beauty and was supposed to be thorny, but drawing the thorns was annoying, so I gave up.

The Phantom is based on none other than Sleeping Beauty with a spinning wheel always turning behind her. Her dress is supposed to be like a mist or a cloud, which I got close enough. I like how the head turned out with the ink spilling out. That said, I’m not sure if I’ll use her in future versions as I want to focus on the “sword of truth and righteousness part of him.” (He is supposed to be twisted from Philip's sword, after all.) But I mostly like how she turned out, though I’m kicking myself for missing the torso designs.

The background is concept art of Maleficent's castle because I haven't learned to draw backgrounds yet. Nothing to say there except--Disclaimer, I do not own that part but the rest is all mine. Except for the shield. That too was edited in.

Anyway, I hope ya’ll like it. I’m curious how others imagine over-blot Silver and his Phantom.

This was one big project, but I love how it came out! I’m fairly new to coloring and rendering, so this was quite the task for me. I’ve discovered that Diasomnia isn’t as hard to draw as I thought (except you Silver, you were very difficult to draw). Shoutout to @soleilthedeity (currently banned) for helping me come up with ideas! I hope you guys enjoy the animatic :)

Malleus is an interesting character, because let’s be honest, he has the emotional maturity of a teaspoon, and I say that affectionately. He’s got a superiority complex, but can you blame him? He’s the crown prince of Briar Valley, naturally he’d at least subconsciously believe that he’s better than others! He pushes people away, not on purpose of course, which leaves him feeling very lonely. People are scared of him, but I feel like Malleus doesn’t completely understand why, what he’s doing wrong. Lilia was never scared of him though, and when he met Yuu, who wasn’t scared of him, he found them amusing, and that amusement slowly grew into affection. He grew attached to them. When he got the news that both Lilia and Yuu were leaving him soon, he felt like that new happiness Yuu gave him and the comfort of Lilia was all going to be ripped away. He doesn’t want to face the idea of things ending, of being alone. But nothing lasts forever.

Worse even is that as prince of Briar Valley, he’s incredibly powerful. His powers are supposed to keep his subjects happy, and he’s used to being able to do pretty much anything with his powers. But he can’t save Lilia, he can’t make him younger, make him healthy, make him stay. In a sense, his overblot kills three birds with one stone! Lilia doesn’t die, Yuu doesn’t leave, and he won’t ever be alone. Plus, they’ll all be “happy”! Except Malleus’ understanding of happiness is shallow, he doesn’t quite grasp it properly. Of course, like all the others, what they did was wrong, but like all the others, I empathize with them and understand why they did what they did. I can relate to Malleus, his desperation, his fear, because at the end of the day he’s still just a child who is going to outgrow everyone he loves.

(Since I play English and read the spoilers, my information/analysis might be wrong! If that’s the case, definitely let me know in the comments. This is all also just my interpretation, so if you disagree with my takes I’d love to hear your interpretation and thoughts!)

Overblot Universe (5) | Yandere Twisted Wonderland

The sight of a giant cauldron falling from the stormy blotted sky and falling on the Overblotted Riddle felt like sun beams shining through the darkest storm

Feeling the weight of your outfit practically disappear you wobbled as you stood leaning on Jade who finally came out from hiding behind your throne

It was Epel and Jack who safely removed the mirror from the altar dressed in the overblotted guards uniform without the imposing collar

Deuce and Ace appeared themselves flinging spells left and right warding off the guards that tried to get to their Queen

You wanted to stay and watch maybe even call them over but the vice dormleader squeezed at your shoulders to get your attention

“Let’s save our pleasantries for after we’ve left the blotted dimension. Wouldn’t want to ruin our plan right?”

“Oh right! Yeah!”

You lean on him while you descend from the platform of the stage Overblotted Riddle had set

Going down the stairs you two came across it seems like smooth sailing despite the chaos

“Halt! Where are you taking the King!?”

It was to blotted Roseguards armed with wands and unaffected by the disorder masking your escape

“Kidnapper! Unhand the King or we’ll be forced to—Agh!”

The one guard curled on his side clutching it which was pouring with spurts of red and black

“I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW A KIDNAPPER IS THE FIRST ONE TO ABDUCT RATHER THAN THE OTHER WAY AROUND! FOR ONCE THIS CONMAN IS A RESCUER!”

“Move and that will be your neck.” 

It was Silver and Sebek bringing the guards to their knees and clearing the path for you with long swords and wands

“I’m glad you’re alright (Y/n) I worried we’d be too late.”

“HAHAAH FOOLISH SILVER. I FOR ONE KNEW YOU’D SURVIVE THIS LONG. I DOUBT ANYONE WOULD HAVE THE POWER TO CRUSH SUCH A PERSISTENT PREFECT.”

It was really nice to see them 

So nice it almost brought tears to your eyes

“This is nice you two but we need to get to our rendezvous point. Quickly.”

The bite in Jade’s voice made you urgent as well

Urgent enough to shutdown whatever Sebek was opening his mouth to retort with 

With them as your shields you all made it past the divided army, occassionally passing by some familiar faces or one familiar face

“Hi (Y/n)~<3” “That blotted get-up looks good on you~!” “I’d love to see it off!”

“H-hi Cater.”

“Awww how we missed your voice! Get to the spot! We don’t know how much time we have before it happens.”

Deciding not to question what ‘it’ was you let Jade drag you out of the castle’s garden

A ways away you could see Epel and Jack were currently in front of the mirror they saved

Working together to put it in a specific position

Making the mirror flicker to life as it shimmered with magic

Activating the doorway to send you home

You were about to cheer when a sinking feeling took hold of you feeling the weight on your head return from the inky crown that you’d forgotten was so heavy

Brotherhood

He cares, both of them do, it's just hard to accept the upcoming future. Malleus choose the easier way while it's not the "correct" one, but who cares? (Everyone actually)

I'm genuinely invested in book 7, I'm glad we can see more of the characters and how they see each other, hopefully it will continue be as good as it is for now

Overblot Universe (6) | Yandere Twisted Wonderland

From the distance you were struggling to stand, watching gallons of ink warp and grow around the area Riddle had previously been imprisoned

Ultimately creating a giant overblotted depiction of Riddle as the twisted Queen of Hearts that he is 

Black Scribbly eyes searching frantically and maniacally as an axe began to form from the scepter he’d been holding 

“Guys he knows where we are!”

“(Y/n) why do you think that?”

Before you can answer the weight of the crown and the bodice of your inky outfit have you struggling to look up or even stand

And without looking you could tell that the inky rendition was looking in your direction

“REMOVE THAT CROWN AT ONCE. IT MUST BE THE CULPRIT!”

“It’s a little late for that genius.”

It took Jade and Sebek’s combined effort to peel the crown off your head 

The pressure of the inky band finally squeezing off your head was like undoing a stabbing migraine

You almost passed out at the relief you didn’t realize you so desperately needed

“(Y/n) are you alright?!”

“Y-yeah.”

Jack had left managing the mirror to Silver to scoop you into his arms

Ignoring the sneers on everyone’s faces you let yourself relax a little before looking past him

To see Ace, Deuce, and Cater running frantically 

Looking behind them was the hundred remaining blotted guards 

But even in their growing numbers that was not making giant thuds into the ground

That was the giant Riddle stomping behind looking as though he was about to cast a spell with the giant axe

Which would be ridiculous if it wasn’t making a giant glowing ball

“Guys! We’ve got to go!”

“Alright everybody let’s go! In the mirror now!”

“I agree. (Y/n) you first.”

“Wait, Ace, Deuce, and Cater have to get in. We are not leaving anyone behind!”

They all collectively groaned, scoffed, and kicked at the dirt

Thinking that this is something you have to stress from your friends boyfriends was certainly not the best situation 

But now wasn’t the time to unpack that 

Cheering over Jack’s shoulder since he refused to set you down

You tried to ignore the blue glow in the clouds

“Guys do you see that? It kind of looks like those robots that abducted our dorm leaders a while back….”

“(Y/n) was Riddle the only one you encountered?”

You slowly turned to where Epel and Jade were looking at the rest of the group turning that way too

The now visible brigade of Idia’s creations surging closer

Even from the ground you could spot the fiery blue hair at the head of the metallic flock

If that wasn’t enough in the opposite direction was another army the same one that was fighting the heartslabyul students at the very beginning of your journey

And above them was what looked like a green haelstorm but you knew better

A terrifying roar rang out and everyone reached for their ears 

You stopped searching for the other two overblots just focused on going into the mirror as soon as they were close enough

Unfortunately their frantic running wasn’t faster than the surging groups 

There was a red beam aimed at the mirror 

Silver, Epel, and Sebek saved it this time but you couldn’t tell if they’d miss it

“Come one you guys hurry!”

They were closer now just a few paces away before an inky arrow flew past 

A blotted version of Rook was somehow far ahead the other armies aiming with a bow on a nightmarish horse

If that wasn’t enough the ground underneath your group was falling out from beneath you all

Jack and the other’s figured it out quickly when they spotted the blotted trail to a stalking blotted Leona

Thankfully your friends were nearly there just in front of the electric storm beginning to just above you

“That’s close enough in you go.”

“Hey!”

Epel snatched you from Jack, holding you tight jumping into the mirror 

properly transporting you back to the twisted wonderland you know and love and that loves you back

You were safe...right?

Only the gods can know why they make this young human suffer so much.

I live under the constant idea that having an Overblot is not only incredibly painful, but it is also a horrible thing to witness as a spectator.

A small drawing made to celebrate the third part of these related stories but that I will never be able to put into a complete fanfic.
