I hold the firm belief that if someone slapped Vil and yelled at him a little bit before he overblotted, he wouldn’t have gone haywire.

I think if they had switched how people reacted with Riddle and Vil, we would’ve saved two overblots. Riddle just wanted some comfort and recognition that he was going through a hard time and needed a hug. Vil wanted someone to keep him accountable.

Rook and Kalim gave Vil empathy and reassured him that he hadn’t made a fatal mistake, which would’ve helped Riddle calm down and think rationally. Ace decked Riddle to make him own up to his crimes and behavior, which Vil would’ve benefited from.

That’s what I’m doing in my first Vil fanfic. I’m having MC smack Vil into not overblotting. I’m having a bit too much fun.

Idk how we would’ve ever defused the Riddle situation… probably by pulling him aside and giving him a hug or something… Aww, wait, that might work and be cute. Awwww, I can see that. Tell me if you think so too and I might write it later.

When he tried to reach out to you, you flinched away. The shaking of your fingers and the tears in your eyes didn't escape his observing gaze. You can look away as many times as you want, but it won't fool him.

Not that he could blame you. His overblot did shake everyone to the core. They can act nonchalantly as much as they want, but he sees right through their fragile facades.

You were no different...

"You fear me too, don't you?"

Overblot MC design

Alrighty!!!! Since my post of the Overblot!Yuu hc I made surpassed more than 100 likes, I managed to have the motivation to draw the Overblot version of Yuu. Now here is my Overblot!Yuu design, my MC is female so I drew the body and face as female, u can imagine her in a different gender if ya like... I kinda got lazy to add more shadings cuz it will eat much of my time, so yeah :P

What Overblot!Yuu’s overblot counterparts consist:

Riddle’s thorns, blot mark on the neck, and cards over the waist

Leona’s mane, sharp teeth, and claws

Azul’s tentacles

Jamil’s snake hair

Vil’s crown, and possible sharp claws

Idia’s flame

Malleus’ wings, and possible sharp teeth

My slightly cruel headcanon about the Azul overblot!

Octopuses themselves are nimble, twisty and cunning animals. It seems to me that during the battle, in addition to regenerating, dodging attacks and spraying ink, Azul could have taken the main character hostage.

Weak, unable to fight, the prefect without magic is an ideal live shield and besides, They can be used as a bargaining chip. Something like: "You give Me your abilities and stop fighting, and I, so be it, will not break your precious friend a pair of limbs...."

....I think He should be TERRIBLY ashamed after the overblot💀

(And also, I found a bunch of cool shots from the original movie, and I want to draw something with them...)

i really like how canonically yuu is genuinely supportive of grim wanting to be a great mage. if i recall correctly, even character voice lines point this out. and it seems like yuu dotes on grim a lot and defends him too??? yuu even encourages grim's ambitions whenever he declares wanting to be a great mage. and also when he does that boss-henchhuman dynamic. i mean yeah you can interpret it as yuu saying that being condescending and sarcastic as if they're talking to a child saying "when i grow up i want to be famous!" but like. i really think they're genuine when mc loves grim in their own way.

even if grim is usually a menace, he's become like family to yuu.

and i'm pretty sure grim feels the same way.

think about it this way. despite all the mess, all the unpredictability, the danger, and all the drama being in nrc. what's always the constant? yuu goes home at the end of the day to the ramshackle dorm (basically their home at this point considering they slowly but surely fix it up over time) and with who? “the great mage” grim. as the sole outcasts in that academy, they both sleep soundly knowing they will always have each other at the end of the day.
