Captains America Reunite in “Captain America: Cold War”
Tumblr media
Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson have both been using the mantle of Captain America in the pages of Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty by Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, and Carmen Carnero and Captain America: Symbol of Truth by Tochi Onyebuchi and R.B. Silva. Now the two Captains are about to reunited for the crossover event Captain America: Cold War.
Spoilers ahead.
Cold War kicks off with a prelude in Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #11. Captain America and the Invaders are free of M.O.D.O.C.’S mind control, but now the Outer Circle has arrived. Steve will have to fight the Power and end the Outer Circle’s invasion of Manhattan for good.
Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty goes on sale on April 5, 2023.
Captain America: Cold War Alpha #1 hails from writers Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, and Tochi Onybuchi and artist Carlos Magno. “Bucky Barnes is the Outer Circle’s New Revolution, and he has enacted his deadliest move yet—an alliance with Sam Wilson’s nemesis, the White Wolf. When Steve Rogers’ adopted son, Ian, AKA Nomad, is abducted by someone Steve thought was a friend, he suspects Bucky’s hand at work and calls upon the people who know Ian best -- Sam Wilson, Sharon Carter, and Misty Knight -- to help him get to the bottom of the attack. Has Bucky finally gone too far? Why has Nomad been taken, and what does it have to do with a portal to Dimension Z opening over a secret battleground in Alaska?” (Marvel Comics)
Captain America: Cold War Alpha #1, featuring a cover by Patrick Gleason, goes on sale on April 12, 2023.
Captain America: Symbol of Truth #12 is part two of Cold War. Will Sam Wilson and Steve Rogers be able to agree on the priorities needed to end the newest threat? White Wolf has taken control of Dimension Z and set the creatures on Sam and Steve and it also turns out that the Outer Circle has more stakes in the fight than the Captains realized. Also, What are Bucky’s plans for Ian Rogers?
Captain America: Symbol of Truth #12 goes on sale on April 26, 2023.

ID: A colorful, stylized illustrated view of Scope City - a wide-spanning fictional city which expands out into the surrounding desert. The buildings towards the center are tall and spike-like, with one spire in the center featuring a glass eye at the top towering over the rest. End ID.
a bit of an update to an older concept drawing I had of Scope City, the location that the majority of Visible Spectrum takes place in!

“Captain America Finale #1” Announced
Tumblr media
“Captain America: Cold War” is in full swing and in August the aftermath of the Cold War explodes in Captain America Finale #1. The extra-sized one-shot hails from writers Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing and artist Carmen Carnero and will mark the end of their Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty run and Steve Roger’s current era.
“Steve will make his final stand against the Outer Circle, the new group of villains who now count Bucky Barnes as a member. Has Bucky finally come to his senses? Or will his misguided actions mark the end of one of comic book’s longest-standing friendships? Using information gathered from friends on the inside, Steve Rogers sets his sights on releasing the world from the Outer Circle’s influence and ending the Century Game for good. Within this thrilling confrontation also comes a new beginning—Bucky’s journey as the Revolution, Sharon Carter’s evolution as the new Destroyer, Black Widow’s new mission, and much more will continue later this year!" (Marvel Comics)
Captain America Finale #1, featuring a cover by Carmen Carnero, goes on sale on August 16, 2023.

when we finally get to the end of the dlc, following miquella's footsteps for many hours, we'll finally run into whatever specter is left of the empyrean, and he will look down, smile, and hand us the item St. Trina's Blunt. then he leaves. i saw this in a dream so I know it to be true

if you havent seen hadestown in person (or otherwise) i need you to know that in the center of the stage a giant circle is inlaid. (two, if you want to be precise) it can spin in place, and the middle is a platform that raises up and down at certain points in the show. you can see it unmoving here in this gifset. it makes for some truly captivating choreo
but more importantly is what it silently adds to the layers of metaphor;
hadestown as being an inherently cyclical, doomed to repeat story. we keep telling it, hermes tells us, despite the ending always being the same. (we gasp, the audience, every time orpheus turns around. why?)
hadestown, taking place on a stage with a turning table. where the characters keep walking in circles, over and over, forever.

I wonder what happened to the disabled people who joined The Sharing. Like it’s advertised as this all inclusive afterschool activity. So surely some physically or mentally disabled people must have joined right? And we know the yeerks consider disabled people to be useless and defective (or maybe ax was just projecting). So what happened to them?
