Post Nova Comic; Feldspar and Hornfels

In the game, Hornfels told us that they didn't work as closely to Feldspar as Gossan and Slate, but we also know they always look very sad when Feldspar is mentioned. So, I imagined that Hornfels wished they were closer to Feldspar - a true friend, not just a coworker - and regretted that it never happened before they got missing. In my headcanon, Feldspar used to ignore Hornfels a lot when they were younger, because they thought Hornfels were kinda boring, always being scared of everything. It's a bit of an immature thinking that Felds wanted to fix, and they finally have the occasion to fix it. for the record, when I finished this comic I thought it was a little too cheesy. But to give you some context, I started drawing this when I had a major existential crisis, facing my own mortality. I'd have trouble sleeping thinking what if I die in my sleep?? Do the people I care about know that I love them?? So I kinda found solace in writing this, with Feldspar confirming Hornfels' friendship with them as Felds is brought back from Dark Bramble. Don't worry I'm doing much better now lmao.

I FINISHED MY FIRST ANIMATIC THAT I'VE BEEN WORKING ON FOR UUUHHHHHH A WHIIILE!!!

After doodling storyboard ideas over the years and not doing anything with them, I was inspired by Outer Wilds to sit down and actually finish one for once (thank yoouuu Outer Wilds!).

I started storyboarding this not too long after I finished the game (that was months ago now oh wow). I got to go back through the game to take screenshots for reference and it was suuuper fun to do. I've got a couple more Outer Wilds animatics I wanna do so mwehehehehe

thanks to @/insert-image-here for discussing blind hatchlings with me!! im happy to go into more detail with asks :) but more or less viewing something so incomprehensible fries their brain and eyes and blinds them for a good long while, until things start to settle down and some vision comes back (hearthians are super hardy like that)
