Hair clips of the sun.
Jungkookie had little hair clips in his hair during his birthday weverse live on Sept. 1, 2022.
This was the live when Jin brought him a crate of grapes and then molested JK's bunny birthday cake with them. And during this live we found out that Jimin and Hobi were JK's only visitors that day.
Even JK thought the hair clips were cute... what's that you say? Not hair clips? E-clips? OOHHHH. EEEE-clipse of the sun.
Well... Jungkookie did say he EXPRESS ordered them. So technically they were e-clips.
Never mind then.

What kdramas or cdramas do you have your eyes open for in 2025?
Ooooh, I love this ask!
Cdramas: I did this post recently which should sum it up
KDRAMAS
Can This Love Be Translated? - love the cast, love the set up!
Dear Bandit - sageuk about lady bandit and prince who swap souls. Nam Ji Hyun and Moon Sang Min. I am indifferent to the cast but the premise could be great (or terrible, but let's be optimistic.)
The First Night with the Duke - manhua soapy deliciousness
The Good Man - Lee Dong Wook as a mobster in love? Gimme.
Haesi's Shinru - not sure if it's still on but it's a sageuk with Ahn Bo Hyun.
The Haunted Palace - this sound kinda insane but I am so desperate for a period kdrama.
Hong Rang - sageuk, fakecest, angstttttt
Human from Today - gumihos for the win
Kiss Me For No Reason - adore both Ahn Eun Jin and Jang Ki Yong and the romance sounds choice.
Last Summer - romance with Lee Jae Wook. He's picked some awful projects but he's a great actor so here is hoping.
The Moon Flows in This River - "he is a mysterious person with a dark past but a strong will even in loneliness. His life is in solitude, but one day, he meets his heroine fatefully, and light begins to shine on his life. She has a bright and pure charm, and they seep into each other's lives and discover true love and hope."
Our Movie - aaaaangsty romantic melo with Namgoong Min? OH YES PLS
The Remarried Empress - sometimes I just want trashy makjang with A-list actors.
The Scandal of Chun Hwa - sexy sageuk romance, bring it on!
The Scent of Plum Flower - sageuk! I am desperate for a decent sageuk.
Serenade - not sure if it's still on but Yeo Jin Goo in a sageuk OH GOD PLSSSSS
Soulmate - Taecyeon in a Japanese x Korean BL coproduction? Yes pls.
The Tyrant's Chef - sageuk AND Park Sung Hoon as ML. Not a fan of Yoona but one of the few times I liked her in was in a sageuk (TKL) so here is hoping.
When Life Gives You Tangerines - Park Bo Gum and IU and this one sentence from the synopsis: "he doesn’t know how to act if Ae Sun cries or laughs, but he is a silent warrior who only loves Ae Sun from the very beginning and pours his all into loving her." AAAAAAAAA
When the Stars Gossip - If liking Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin in old school romance is basic, I will gladly be basic.
Wife of a 21st Century Prince - IU and Byeon Woo Seok in something that sounds like a Goong AU? Yes pls.

Hello! ☺️ First of all, thank you for running this wonderful blog!!
This is for Rewind 2024 Proud Author Spotlight. It is a 29k story I recently finished translating (I'm also the author of the original version) and I'm really glad to have been able to do this within less than a year.
It will not please everyone as it is mostly CQL-based (CQL post-canon) but it is first person Wei Ying POV and I haven't read a lot of that in this fandom, so I hope maybe some people would enjoy it!
Thank you again for everything!
Léli.

The last snows of the season were melting in pools of crystal clear water across the Clearing. In the mornings, the air was so chilly that it froze them, but it hadn't snowed in weeks. The last blizzard occurred on the night of your arrival to the pack, and since then, the signs of the arrival of spring had been clearer and clearer. The days were longer and the afternoons warmer.
As you came down for breakfast that morning, two days after your release on parole, you found out that the members of the pack were in especially good spirits and tremendously relieved.
"Jungkook took the farmers to the fields this morning to check their condition before sowing time after the next full moon," Jimin recounted, sitting on a high wooden stool, while Jin, at the stove, carefully stirred the contents of a huge, steaming pot, "and apparently they're all ready for this year's season despite the hellish winter we've had."
One of them was carrying the Cornerstone, as usual. You sensed the strap stirring and tensing almost lazily when you reached the threshold of the kitchen. The strands of light ghosting around you where you couldn't reach them, though you almost could. It was Jin who was bearing the medallion.
"Ah, thanks the Moon." The older Omega seemed to be very relieved. "Hoseok told me the other day that we were running out of our grain reserves."
Jimin nodded, humming. "Yeah, and since elk have migrated to the Yugseon Steppes earlier this season, we'll be able to organize hunting trips as soon as the snow melts enough for the paths to be clear."
You cleared your throat, not finding any other way to make yourself heard. They both turned their eyes to look at you when they heard you enter the kitchen, and a smile automatically formed on their faces, welcoming you.
"Welcome to the world of the living," Jin greeted you, refocusing his attention on the pot.
Jimin chuckled, pulling a stool away from the counter for you to sit next to you. You suppressed an apologetic smile as you settled in; Jin had strictly forbidden everyone to interrupt you while you slept, stating that it was best to let you wake up on your own, so that you could rest and sleep as long as your body asked. As a result, you didn't usually emerge from your room until late in the morning, even noon.
"Did you sleep well?" Jimin asked, with a mocking tone that made you finally smile.
"You shouldn't get me used to sleep all I want," you replied, leaning your elbows on the counter, "by the time you want me to get up early, it'll be too late."
Your playful answer made them laugh. They were getting used to you behaving like a normal person, laughing and smiling more usually, playing along their jokes and talking comfortably. It was a slow progress, but it was still progress.
"Nonsense." Jin's words were categorical. "You will be more helpful during the sowing if you are fully recovered. So do as I say, I am the healer here."
He shook his wooden spoon up and down, in a threatening manner, before putting it in the pot again. You nodded, forcing a smile although they didn't realize it wasn't genuine. Even if you had all the time you wanted and more to sleep, you couldn't rest properly. You spent most of the night awake, staring at the wooden panels of the ceiling of your rooms. The reason? Nightmares. Horrible, dreadful nightmares. Despite the fact that all of them were different, they all ended the same way.
Your hands stained with dark blood and a mountain of wolves' corpses before your shaking frame.
But of course, you couldn't tell them about that. It's not that you couldn't, because you knew that if you could trust someone in the pack, it was them. No, it wasn't like that: you didn't want, it felt too close to home for them to talk about that episode of your lives just yet.
"Have you ever participated in a seeding, Luna?" asked Jimin, leaning his chin on his hands.
"Kind of," you answered, shaking your head from side to side contemplatively, "it was customary that the High Priestess blessed the fields before the seedtime. Everyone thought that brought prosperity and good harvests."
The two Omegas were listening attentively, just like every time you told them about your life in Ilsan. They wanted to leave a record of everything they didn't know or anything their books didn't have. You found yourself softening whenever it happened, because you couldn't tell why, but seeing them truly interested in your thoughts and experiences made you happier than you would like to admit.
For the first time in forever, someone listened to you and kept in mind your opinions. For the first time in forever, you felt like you could speak your mind because your point of view was as valid as everyone else's. Jimin interrupted your thoughts dragging you back to reality.
"Did it work?"
"Well, I guess so. We never had problems with droughts or plagues. My blessing or pure luck? Only the Moon knows."
They chuckled at your words and Jin placed two bowls of chicken noodle soup with two glasses of warm herbal tea. One was for you and the other for Jimin.
"I can't wait for this year's Vernal Equinox Fest" Jimin commented, munching on his noodles, "you'll love it, Luna. It is one of our biggest celebrations."
You nodded, taking a sip of tea. You had read about it before, all their festivals were perfectly described in the books of the Great Library of the High Temple —Vernal Equinox Fest, Summer Solstice Fest, Autumnal Equinox Fest, Harvest Festivals, Great Moon Festivals, etc. Werewolves' culture depended a lot on the hunting seasons and the farming and lunar calendars, since that was the only way they had to measure the time. Their festivals were large and very important for them, being the most relevant social events in their life in community
Before you could add anything else, someone opened the front door with heavy steps before closing it again. The three of you turned your heads to the kitchen door.
"Anyone here?" Taehyung's voice ecchoed through the corridors from the vestibule.
Your stomach sank in anguish at the sound of the young Beta and you just wanted him to go away. Avoiding Taehyung at all costs had become your main purpose since the incident of the effigy. Even if he didn't seem to hate you at all. That's what disturbed you. He should hate you. He had to, right? How come he didn't? He had treated you normally, even almost jokingly. He told you that he trusted you. How the fuck could he trust you?
You stirred in your place almost uncomfortably. He had to be lying, he had to be pretending. Maybe he was just trying to make you feel save and relaxed enough to be vulnerable around him; maybe he was trying to get close to you, so that he could attack you where it hurt you the most.
Hana's face came to your mind, and your heart skipped a beat. The princess seemed to be already close to him, and that only made you feel even more anxious.
"In the kitchen!" Jin answered, bending down to lift a cube of fresh water to pour it into a new pot.
You turned back to your bowl of noodles and shoved a spoonful into your mouth, pretending Taehyung wasn't approaching the kitchen in that exact moment. Maybe if you ignored his presence, he would just disappear. His steps became louder as he got closer to the room and he poked his head out of the door.
"I don't know what are you cooking, but I want a bowl of that. It's smells like heaven", he said as he entered the kitchen.
Jimin smiled. "Good morning, Taehyung-ah," he greeted, spinning on the stool to face him, leaning his back on the counter, "did you hear the news? Seedtime is coming!"
Taehyung flopped down mindlessly on the other stool besides you, gesturing Jin to hand him his own bowl of chicken noodle soup.
"Yeah, Yoongi hyung told me this morning during our patrol. I guess that by pure stadistic, something good had to happen to us already," from the corner of your eye, you saw he was looking down at you with raised eyebrows, "and it is actually the reason why I am here."
Jin and Jimin waited patiently for him to swallow his first two spoonfuls of soup. Even you mustered the courage to turn your head to glance at him, expectantly. The way he looked at you when he said that the forthcoming sowing was the first good thing to happen to the pack after a series of unfortunate, fateful, disastrous, nightmarish events, told you what you already knew —you were part of those unfortunate, fateful, disastrous, nightmarish events.
"Alpha Kim asked me to introduce Luna to some people today", he explained at last, "since we are starting to prepare for the next winter, people think that she should help too."
You remained silent, munching slowly on your own food. Even if the deal you made with Namjoon and Jungkook only forced you to help them in the war with your power and the Cornerstone's you thought that them wanting you to collaborate in the pack's daily labors was just fair enough. After all, you needed to eat and a roof over your head, and also make amends for your past mistakes. Not that stirring some soil for the sowing or weaving willow baskets for storage could repay them for what you did, but well, it's the thought that counts, right?
You wish.
Jin frowned slightly, abandoning momentarily his cooking task to look at Taehyung directly in the eye.
"It's too early for that, she is still recovering. I talked with Jungkook about it and-
"Jungkook approves it, hyung. " He interrupted softly. "He was with Namjoon when they sent me here. Time flies and with Sangyu in wait, we need all the help we can get."
You sighed ever so slightly, yet earning their attention. Why were they talking about you like you weren't in the room? You were not a person of just sitting and wait for things to be done magically. Since you can remember, people have decided on your life and your fate, you had no voice to speak yourself. Back in Ilsan, no one expected you to have an opinion or a point of view, rather the opposite. And now that you were not the High Priestess anymore, you had all the right to speak your thoughts, helping was the least you could do for them, and you prefered better not to give the pack more reasons to despise you. The sooner they got used to you, the sooner you would stop hating yourself for what you did.
"I'll do it," Jin puffed in disbelief and Jimin frowned, "I'm much better and I'll try to help as much as I can."
Jimin huffed as well, trying to reason with you. "Luna, you cannot just-
"I am not asking for your permission," you cut him off, not trying to sound agressive, but firmly anyway, "I am informing you."
You were not having it, not anymore. As much as you appreciated Jimin, he wouldn't get to tell you what to do. No one would ever decide on your behalf if you could help it. He looked away, biting on his lower lip seemingly frustrated.
Jin glared at you, lifting his spoon to threaten you again with it. "If I find out that you are overworking yourself in any way, I'll put barriers on your bed again and tie you up to them. Got it?"
You smiled at him sheepishly, he sighed loudly, but he made do with that. He took the Cornerstone off handing it to Taehyung, and felt relieved just from the very idea of doing so. Jimin also seemed happy to be away from the medallion for a while. Even if he knew he was going to be the one carrying the jewel during more time because he was the closest to you, he wasn't able to get used to it. Jimin's perfect skin turned pale and sweaty if he had the Cornerstone for a long period of time. The same happened with Jin, though he avoided carrying it as usually as Jimin had to.
Probably because it terrifies them. Yeah. The Cornerstone killed six of them that day, remember?
Your eyes travelled to Taehyung's face; he was clenching his jaw hard, but apart from that, nothing revealed how much he actually hated that medallion. He took it from Jin's hand and put it around his neck. The jewel shone on his chest when a ray of sunlight hit its silvery surface. His eyes shadened almost instantly, and he cowered a little, as if someone had just put an enormous weight on his shoulders. The strap tensed abruptly, like claiming your attention. You felt so bad for the three of them and so thirsty of your former power that you stepped in almost without realizing.
"I could be more helpful if you just let me carry it again," maybe your tone of voice shown a little too much how eager you were for the Cornerstone, because the three men looked at you eye widened, almost scared, "I- I mean, I know you don't like having it and I could do a lot of things, and-
"Don't even think about it," Taehyung said, abruptly, almost harshly.
You didn't push any further, because you knew that would probably had set all their alarms. And you didn't want the Alphas to know that you were trying to recover the medallion even if that's what you needed to do, because how the hell did they expect you to protect them if they wouldn't give you your weapon?
Jimin cleared his throat in order to break the awkward and tense atmosphere that settled between the four of you like dripping and dense fog. He stood up from his stool.
"Well, I'll see you later then, Luna. I have to check on the pups at the Nursery." He bowed his head goodbye to you and to his hyungs before heading to the back door of the kitchen.
You watched him go before turning your head to the Beta to your right, he was already watching you when you locked your eyes with him. Taehyung tilted his head to the corridor. "Come on, it's almost midday."
You got up from the stool, handing your bowl to Jin. He seemed to be annoyed by the situation, but resigned to it anyway. You sighed silently and tried to ease his obvious disagreement.
"It was delicious, Jin, thank you," he hummed, accepting your praise and the bowl, still refusing to look at you, so you pressed a bit more, "can I have seconds at dinner?"
He glared at you, putting his spoon in the steamy pot again. "You'll get bellyache, missy. A balanced diet is essential for a prompt recovery," he turned your back to you, placing the bowl in a washbowl besides the counter. Without even turning to look at you, Jin let out a loud sigh before partially turning his face over his right shoulder. "But I can make it for lunch tomorrow if you want."
You nodded, satisfied, and turned around to follow Taehyung out of the kitchen. You tried to keep a sufficient distance behind him so as not to engage in any superficial and awkward conversation, but close enough not to appear strange or be noticed. Your footsteps on the creaking wooden floor filled the heavy silence between you and accompanied you until you reached the door. When the Beta opened the door and let you go first, you had no choice but to surrender and prepare for the uncomfortable conversation that awaited you from the Pack House to wherever he wanted to take you.
Stepping out onto the porch, the cold air of early spring filled your lungs and immediately cleared your nose. The sun timidly shone through translucent clouds that opened up in large gaps here and there. Numerous puddles of muddy water surrounded the homestead on all sides, the result of roof drippings, from which the last remnants of winter snow had already disappeared. The path that crossed the pack village like a central axis was also muddy and filled with puddles where children jumped and frolicked.
Taehyung cleared his throat to get your attention, and you snapped back to reality, realizing that he was already waiting for you at the bottom of the porch stairs. You apologized under your breath as you hurried to catch up with him, jumping over one of the puddles to avoid getting your boots dirty. He waited for you to reach his side before walking again. The Cornerstone shone once more on his chest as the young man turned towards the clearing, dazzling you in the process. There was something mocking and sarcastic about the way the medallion seemed to seek your attention all the time, as if it wanted to remind you that it was there, and that you had to reach it even if you couldn't. Taehyung didn't miss the glance you cast at the jewel, but as soon as you realized that the Beta was watching you, you looked away as if you had been caught doing something wrong.
"I'm sorry we have to do this," he said, turning his gaze forward. "Carrying the Cornerstone in front of you without allowing you to touch it, and being close to it all the time, but it's Jungkook and Namjoon's orders."
You clenched your fists inside the sleeves of your shirt. You hated not finding any trace of mockery in his voice. He should revel in it, be happy to see you suffer because you couldn't wear the pendant around your neck. He should laugh at you, feel satisfied by carrying the Cornerstone and forcing you to be near it without even touching it. But no, his apologies seemed genuine. And you hated it. You hated not finding the hatred that you were supposed to receive from him.
What are you playing at, Taehyung?
That question had been swirling in your mind relentlessly for the past two days, and no matter how much you wanted to find an answer, you couldn't. And you didn't have the courage to confront him directly and demand answers because he had already given them to you. He trusted you because Jimin did.
You shook your head, shrugging to downplay the matter. "It's okay, I understand, or at least I'm trying to. I'll get used to it."
Taehyung nodded without saying a word, and you both fell into silence again. The truth was, you didn't understand it, nor did you understand what the Alphas were waiting for to return the Cornerstone to you, since it was the only way you could fight and defend them in case Sangyu decided to make his entrance. You sighed, avoiding another puddle languishing in the middle of the road.
It was becoming hard to ignore the leash that tied you to the medallion, which tightened more frequently and stronger. The strands of energy weaving around you grew brighter every day, even in broad daylight, even when far from the medallion. And now that you had it closer, now that you could almost touch the Cornerstone, it even seemed like you could reach them.
You reached out to them experimentally, hoping to see them disappear as they always did as soon as you tried. But no, they didn't disappear. You brushed against them. The leash tightened so abruptly that you almost stumbled over a stone in the path. Taehyung stiffened at your side and stopped, clearing his throat, almost coughing, as if he had choked on a nut. Your blood ran cold, and you were almost afraid to look at him, fearing that somehow he knew what you had done. When you turned around, you saw that he had brought a hand to his chest and was frowning, and he also turned to look at you.
You tried to play it off. "Is something wrong?"
Taehyung seemed to consider his words for a moment before shaking his head and continuing to walk.
"No. It's nothing, let's continue."
Of course, you didn't insist. The sooner he forgot about it, the better for you. Still, the pounding of your heart and the trembling of your hands did not diminish in the slightest. One thing was clear: you had managed to reach the strands of light without even wearing the Cornerstone, which until then, was thought to be impossible. No High Priestess of Ilsan had ever achieved anything like that before, of course, none had spent so much time without the stone. Without daring to move your head from side to side to avoid drawing the Beta's attention, you saw from the corner of your eye that the strands of light still shone brightly around you, even more than before. The leash was so tight that it almost seemed about to physically drag you towards Taehyung.
There was also another thing that was clear, he had felt it. You didn't know how much, or how, or why, but he had noticed something. You squeezed and loosened your fingers trying to calm the beats of your heart, which pounded frantically against your ribs, at this rate, you were sure that all the werewolves in the pack could perceive your distress and nervousness from miles away. There were many things you hid from the members of the pack, perhaps out of pure instinct, because you still didn't trust them enough to tell them. And although you highly doubted that it was a good start for a war alliance, it seemed even more dangerous for them to know what you had just discovered. They kept the medallion out of your reach precisely so that you couldn't use your power for the time being, and if it came to their ears that you could use the Cornerstone to channel that power without having to wear it, the Moon knows what they would do to try to keep you under control.
The memory of the darkness, the cold, and your sanity unraveling like sand between your fingers sent a deep chill sweeping over you. No, you couldn't go back to the isolation cell again. So you stayed silent and kept the secret. Another one.
In an even more uncomfortable silence, you arrived at the Agora, where you could see for the first time and in all its splendor the morning market of the pack. You didn't know that there were so many people living in the Clearing until that moment, and it was the first time you had seen so many souls gathered in one place since the night of your escape from Ilsan. Anyway, it could never overshadow the market days of the chaotic capital of the Rowan Empire. The circular plaza was filled with wooden stalls covered with colorful fabrics, forming a smaller circle following the shape of the Agora around the effigy of the Moon Goddess, which rose in the center of the place.
There were people of all ages scattered in the square, many of them leaving offerings to the goddess, while others walked among the market stalls, inspecting the materials and chatting animatedly with the owners of the stalls. In Ilsan, the markets were the epicenter of theft and fraud, but there, like everything else that happened in the Clearing, everything seemed to move at a different pace.
Something you did notice and couldn't help but ask about was that no one carried any kind of currency on them.
"We don't believe in the monetary system that humans use," Taehyung explained, shrugging as you immersed yourselves in the crowd, "it's much simpler for us to trade with goods or ration cards. Each family in the pack specializes in manufacturing something that we all need, so we simply use exchange to have everything. When that system doesn't work, we pay with ration cards, which are exchanged for something from the pack's common warehouse: grain, wool, wood... Whatever is needed."
That left you as amazed as it did perplexed. Until then, you were unaware that a community could function in such a simple and effective way; it was nothing more than a utopia for a population as large as Ilsan or the great city-states of the South. Once again, the werewolves surprised you with their civilization, often much more advanced than those who called them beasts.
"Don't you ever have problems with that?" you asked, puzzled, while dodging two women who were calmly discussing the value of a ball of wool. "I thought that it is impossible to maintain a completely egalitarian society; there will always be someone who has more than the others."
Taehyung shrugged, without turning to look at you. "We're not a society like yours, Luna, we're a family. But to answer your question, of course we have problems, and not just with the distribution of our resources. But don't worry, Jungkook and Namjoon handle them wonderfully."
Somehow, it didn't seem strange to you to think that the pack operated like the perfectly oiled machine it was thanks to the leadership of both Alphas. You didn't know much about the pack leaders at the moment, nor how their predecessors managed the position, but you had met many powerful men throughout your life as High Priestess, and somehow you knew that none of them could hold a candle to Jungkook or Namjoon.
Call it intuition or experience, but deep down you knew. If the packs had survived Sangyu's attacks, with no wars or internal disputes and with systems as simple but delicate as those, it was because the leaders were exceptionally good at their jobs. Without another word, you followed Taehyung through the rest of the market, enduring with all possible composure the hard stares from all the pack members you crossed paths with.
Since the day you were allowed out of isolation, word had spread throughout the pack that the witch from Ilsan who ruined the last night of the blue moon was still there. By that morning, everyone in the Clearing knew who you were and what you were supposedly going to do for them. If any of them appreciated your efforts or your goal of protecting them from Sangyu, none of them let you know. Quite the opposite.
When you left the Agora and the hustle and bustle of the market behind, you could afford to release the breath you didn't know you had been holding, though not for long. Beyond the circular plaza, the village still extended a bit further. In that part of the clearing were the largest and oldest-looking houses, probably for larger families; there were scattered wooden buildings that looked like barns at first glance, and the rest of the space was made up of meadows surrounded by wooden fences where several domestic herds of cows, goats, pigs, and some chickens and hens grazed peacefully.
There was one building that stood out above the rest. It was also made of wood, circular, and covered by a dome of branches and huge leaves that almost seemed to be your size; it had circular windows forming a clerestory at the highest part and double doors that seemed as heavy as a mountain. You wouldn't have known what that building was for if the answer wasn't precisely at its doors.
There were two elderly people wrapped in white and immaculate clothes. They reminded you of the ones you had to wear as a Novice and later as High Priestess; white was the color of the moon and purity, so said the Patriarch. A nasty shiver ran down your back as you remembered it. Those same clothes were worn by Elder Sang and the other elder who had waited for you to come out of the cell that morning.
So those must be members of the Gerusia. And probably the building was their headquarters, or something like that. They seemed to be discussing something in a low voice, sitting on a long stone bench at the entrance of the place. One of them saw you and pointed you out to his colleague, whispering something in his ear. The looks of hatred and arrogance they directed at you before getting up and entering the building did not go unnoticed by Taehyung, nor did the spit that one of them spat at your feet as you passed by.
If you were in Ilsan, half a dozen Praetorii would have jumped on them just for looking you in the eye; for not bowing to you, they would have been whipped and would have spent three nights in Ryu's dungeons; for spitting at your feet, they would be on their way to the gallows to be hanged.
However, you forced yourself to ignore them and look the other way. Taehyung didn't do anything to correct their behavior either, though you understood. Only the Alphas could confront an elder, especially from the Gerusia. Who knows the trouble that would arise if the murderer witch and foreigner committed such a disrespect with a council elder.
The more unnoticed you passed, the better; the fewer reasons you gave them to hate you, the better. If that meant having to endure treatments as humiliating and degrading as those, you would. You just wished that all the bad things they did to you would come back to them someday. Multiplied by several figures, if possible. The Goddess was wise, and wove your destinies accordingly.
The Goddess shapes the back for the burden. You would have to settle for that for the moment.
"Don't take it personally, Luna," the Beta half apologized when the men had closed the doors behind them, "they take the Sacred Law too seriously. Someday they'll give in even if it hurts their pride."
You sighed, vaguely nodding your head and suppressing the urge to demand to know why he didn't spit at you like they did. He had reasons enough to do it.
"Is there a section in your Sacred Law that obligates you to spit at me?" you asked, knowing that the tone you used hinted at more bitterness than you would like to show.
Taehyung bit his cheeks for a few seconds as he thought about his response. "Not exactly, but there are some about how our enemies are treated, especially those with whom we have had direct confrontations."
You raised an eyebrow. As far as you understood since you were born, werewolves were hostile to anyone who got too close to the Yerin forest, let alone to those who dared to set foot in their territory. You had heard many legends of people who went and never returned, especially travelers and explorers who tried to open a faster and safer route to Ghaleen and the Eastern territories through Yerin. The Steppe Road that descended to Imhan Pass around the forest to the south was plagued by bandits and mercenaries in recent years.
"Do you mean basically all outsiders who step into the forest? I imagine that for the elders, anyone who isn't like you is against you."
Taehyung stopped and turned to look at you, hands on hips and a serious face that made you want to be able to shut your mouth as you did in Ilsan. You also stopped walking and took a step back to keep a more prudent distance from him; the Beta frowned at that last gesture and let his arms fall to his sides as he sighed, as if trying to explain to a child for the tenth time why he couldn't eat a whole box of candy at once.
"Look, Luna, I understand that the elders are not saints in your devotion and that their behavior is not appropriate, but it's not right for you to assume things about how we work here when you have no idea," well, you deserved that for being a loudmouth, "and even less as if we were inferior to you. We are not savages, we were not the ones who attacked and ended the other party's diplomatic mission, or were we?”
Okay. That was a low blow, but probably deserved, if we're being honest. Much to your chagrin and to the detriment of your pride, you averted your gaze with pursed lips, not daring to respond. Taehyung understood the message of surrender and sighed again, softening his expression, though he still seemed annoyed. Did you want to anger him so you could feel guilty about his grandmother's situation more comfortably? Well, probably, you couldn't deny it.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought up that topic again," you almost wanted to punch him for apologizing and making himself look like the bad guy in that situation. He had every right to be angry.
"I'm sorry, that was foolish of me," you conceded, looking back at him with some reluctance. "I don't think you're inferior, or savages, in fact... you're the most civilized community I've ever known."
Taehyung nodded, accepting the apology. "You must learn to understand our way of life and, above all, the Sacred Law. Although it may not seem like it, the Gerusia is wise and helps the Alphas a lot in decision-making and law enforcement... for all of us, not just outsiders."
He said the last part in a lower voice, with a more restrained tone, as if it were something he shouldn't mention. You frowned as your mind connected dots at a speed that impressed even you, and the answer came clear as a candle lit in the darkness of a cave.
"Were they the ones who decided to expel the... rogues?" you asked, also instinctively lowering your voice.
Taehyung glanced at you for a couple of seconds with narrowed eyes, perhaps wondering how you knew that. When you thought he was going to speak to answer you, he turned to walk away, physically avoiding your question as well. You didn't waste time and hurried to catch up with him to walk by his side; one of his strides was like two of yours, but the height difference wasn't going to stop you this time. You remembered that although you had ended eight members of his pack, they had done the same to your sisters from the Ilsan Temple. Well, technically it wasn't them. However, the expulsion of the wanderers from the pack was what gave them free rein to attack Ilsan without remorse in the first place, and if that hadn't happened, you would never have had to take anyone's life. It's not that you wanted to apologize or justify your actions in that way, but it was nothing more than the relationship of cause and effect. The Patriarch always said that chaos is a ladder; and that everything you do, every decision you make, is a step that determines the next one. The flutter of a butterfly in Vinland Desert could unleash a storm in Terlheslin. In this way, everything you do in the present will affect the future, just as the present is what it is because of the decisions made in the past. The whole ancestral hatred relationship you maintained with the werewolves was actually the top of the ladder; the product of a chain of terrible events.
Probably that part of the story where the werewolves massacred half of the Ecclesia was deliberately ignored by all members of the pack, so they could call you a monster and hate you without feeling any guilt. The Beta didn't answer you, but you didn't give up. Although Namjoon and Jungkook had told you the truth during your last conversation in the cell, you knew they hadn't told you everything.
Who were the rogues and why did they hate humans so much?
"I know it was like that. That they were the ones who attacked Ilsan, not the werewolves of the Clearing," you saw that the young man listened to you despite everything because he looked at you from the corner of his eye. "The Alphas told me in the isolation cell before they took me out. But they didn't tell me who-"
"That's a subject I can't talk about, Luna," Taehyung interrupted you, not slowing down his pace. "It's not up to me to tell you. If Namjoon and Jungkook didn't, there's a reason... We've arrived, come on."
You sighed. There were many unresolved mysteries about the pack's past swirling around in your head. Both you and they were hiding things from each other, although you hoped it wasn't as obvious to them that you weren't telling the whole truth as it was to you. That only evidenced what was more than clear: neither the pack trusted you, nor did you trust the pack, no matter how kind Jimin and Jin were to you.
You didn't add anything else, although you wouldn't have been able to if you wanted to. You had reached one of the last houses in the Clearing: one that was especially large, dark, and regal-looking. There was a pergola with a roof of moss and branches near the entrance, under which a large group of people were chatting animatedly around a large table. A squad of children ran around playing, jumping in puddles and climbing nearby trees. A huge tin pot was placed next to the table, over a fire, bubbling emitting a warm smell of homemade food that immediately opened your appetite even though you had just eaten a little while ago. A young and slender woman stirred the contents of the cauldron with a ladle the size of her forearm. Only when you approached close enough, you saw that she was carrying a baby wrapped in a cloth tied to her back.
"Dasom noona!" Taehyung called out as you left the path to approach the front garden of the house where the pergola was.
Everyone turned to look when they heard the Beta, greeting him warmly and patting him on the back. Not knowing quite how to proceed, you stayed a little behind in silence. When the werewolf men's eyes moved from Taehyung to you, they lost any friendly glow they might have had at first. However, the only look that really made you feel intimidated was that of the woman next to the cauldron; there was a latent and icy hatred hidden in her Beta blue irises.
"Is it her?" she asked, shifting her gaze to Taehyung. He nodded and the young woman looked you over again in a way that made you feel as uncomfortable as self-conscious. "She seems frail, I can see her bones under all that clothing from here."
Her words were poisoned, and although they were prepared to hurt you, what really hurt was the wave of poorly disguised laughter that the comment raised among the rest of the people who witnessed it from the table. You clenched your fists behind your back until your knuckles turned white, resisting the call of the Cornerstone, which whispered from Taehyung's chest, challenging you to pull the strands that tied you to the woman to shut her up in the worst possible way.
Taehyung wasn't laughing. "Dasom, please."
The woman rolled her eyes and turned to you, leaving the ladle inside the cauldron. Taehyung seemed to take it as a sign of peace, because he sighed before looking at you.
"Luna, this is Dasom, my older sister," the Beta said, pointing at the woman with one hand, "and Namjoon's mate."
You couldn't hide the surprise that this new information caused you. You didn't know that Namjoon had a mate, and apparently, at least one child, although it didn't seem strange to you in some way. He was a young and healthy Alpha, after all. For a fleeting moment, you wondered if Jungkook had also formed his own family.
Because you took his away. Or at least, part of it.
In addition to clenching your fists, you pressed your lips together. You were sure that when you opened your hands, your nails would have dug into your skin so much that they would have left four crescent-shaped marks. Then, Dasom's aversion in her eyes when she saw you made more sense.
You had also killed her grandmother that day.
This will haunt you for life.
"Well, let's see what you're made of, Priestess," she commented, in such a mocking way that you would have given her a murderous look if it weren't because suddenly you believed you deserved it more. "Have you ever made willow baskets or herded a flock?"
Dasom knew the answer, she probably knew the obligations of the priestesses and the luxurious lifestyle they led. She knew that you had never seen those domestic animals in your life unless it was for some sacrifice or served at a banquet for the nobles of Ilsan. She just wanted to humiliate you a little more.
You let her do it. You shook your head, still with your eyes fixed on the ground. You heard the cruel laughter of her companions again, who seemed to be having a great time with the situation. Taehyung didn't intervene again.
In the misty morning: wet meadows, dried leaves, and absent birds. It was late autumn. Even the streets of the normally chaotic citadel of Ilsan were immersed in a sluggish lethargy that day. But that was only the calm before the storm.
Inside the Imperial Palace, the world was completely different. It seemed like a bubble of madness and frenzy in a calm sea. The recent times had been tense for life at the court after Empress Yuran's multiple and tragic miscarriages, but nothing had prepared humans for what was about to happen that day.
And least of all, you.
Six Praetorii escorted you along one of the palace's immense corridors. That military order, expressly at your service, had been founded the day after the massacre of the Ilsan Temple to prevent something like that from happening again.
As you turned a corner in the hallway, the muffled sound of a crowd shouting and booing reached your ears. You swallowed hard, halting your steps suddenly. The Praetorii immediately stopped without breaking their ring formation around you. The Guard Commander addressed you without looking into your eyes, always with his head tilted down.
"Luna, we must proceed. They are waiting for you."
You nodded, but still did nothing to move from the spot. You knew what you were going to do, you knew what they were going to force you to do. When at dawn the City Guard brought word to the palace that they had sighted and captured a pack of werewolves in the vicinity of Ilsan, you already knew that neither the Patriarch nor the Empress would let them go unpunished for that.
Not after they had murdered all the novices and priestesses of Ilsan in a single day.
The Commander shifted his weight from one leg to the other, uncomfortable, unsure of how to make you walk. They couldn't touch you unless it was to physically protect you, after all, or speak to you disrespectfully.
"Luna, please."
To your left, the youngest soldier of them all spoke. It was Kai, the closest person to a friend you had. He was barely fifteen, seven years older than you, but he had already graduated from the military academy with all honors, which had earned him a place in the palace garrisons if he wished. Despite the strict rules surrounding the ritual procedure by which people were supposed to communicate with you, Kai looked you in the eyes and spoke to you as what you were: a little scared girl.
That's what gave you the strength to start walking. All the soldiers followed you as if orbiting around you. The corridor turned again a little further ahead and ended at a stone archway that led to a huge inner courtyard. The Empress's Courtyard, the main one in the entire palace. All the permanent resident nobles of the court were there, as well as most of the inhabitants of Ilsan.
The Patriarch had allowed the entry of commoners into the palace, a historic milestone in the memory of the Sacred City. The crowd formed a wide circle around the center of the courtyard, where some City Guards held motionless a series of furry shapes that you couldn't clearly distinguish from your position at the courtyard entrance, but that you knew perfectly well what they were.
Although the boos and insults toward the werewolves didn't cease, the nobles and commoners parted left and right to open a path for you. The Patriarch was there, facing the werewolves, waiting for you. You moved through the people like a condemned woman to the gallows.
Although you were going to be the executioner.
It wasn't strange to you that the Patriarch had summoned you to take care of that task. After all, it was always the High Priestess who executed important prisoners of war. There was a whole ritual ceremony for sacred executions in the name of the Goddess. But they usually took place in private.
That wasn't a ritual, it was a public execution, probably for the entertainment of Ilsan's inhabitants, to humiliate the werewolves as much as possible in their last moments of life. The closer you got to the center of the courtyard, the sicker you felt. As much as you hated the werewolves, you didn't want to do it, just the thought made bile rise in your throat, threatening to make you vomit what little you had for breakfast.
Your distressed situation awakened the bond with the Cornerstone, and the leash twisted, eagerly pulling, taking your breath away. Three years had passed since the Junction, and your connection with the medallion was more than consolidated, but you were still very susceptible to sudden changes in the energy flows exchanged with the Stone.
So, by the time you reached the center of the courtyard and the Patriarch forcefully turned your arm to face the crowd, you were bathed in a cold sweat that only increased your paleness. The Patriarch raised a hand to silence the crowd, while discreetly digging his nails into your shoulder with the other.
“Citizens of Ilsan and nobles of Her Imperial Majesty Yuran of Baegyum's Court; may health, life, and prosperity be granted unto you” the Patriarch began to speak, his voice echoing naturally off the courtyard walls, “behold the cause of our infinite rage and sorrow, behold the murderers of our Sisters and our former High Priestess; may her travel be brief.”
The crowd rose in a wave of indignation that materialized in the form of insults and more boos. Someone threw a stone, and although you had your back to the beasts, you heard a howl of pain from one of them. You had counted eight. The Patriarch let the people vent their anger for a few seconds before silencing them again.
“As dictated by the laws of the Sacred Scripture, it is our Luna who must end the lives of these impious creatures.”
The grip the man maintained on your shoulder tightened, and you were sure it would leave a bruise for days. The Patriarch turned to look over his shoulder at the werewolves as if they were insects stuck to the sole of his shoe.
“Blood must have blood, and that spilled in the Great Temple must still be avenged.”
Once again, the courtyard filled with voices that seemed unintelligible to you; the sounds reached you muffled, distant, as if they were very far away, yet they filled your ears in a way that almost felt like they would burst. Blood must have blood. That was perhaps the most important sacred quote of the entire dominant religion in the Rowan Empire, even for werewolves. Everyone knew it and respected it, followed it and practiced it.
The Goddess's singular commandment. And also your order to follow, that was your starting gun. The nobles and commoners, still relentless in their efforts to humiliate the creatures with their derogatory and degrading comments and the occasional stone, looked at you with fury emitting dangerous sparks in their eyes. That was the flash of collective hysteria.
The Patriarch, in the face of your apparent passivity, gave you a shove toward the werewolves that nearly sent you straight to the ground. The creatures bared their teeth and huddled in place, bristling defensively.
Indeed, there were eight. Three gray ones in different shades; two redheads and two browns, one of them significantly older-looking than the other. Finally, in the center, there was a huge wolf, much larger than the rest. It was a pitch-black color, its eyes red, staring at you in such a threatening way that you almost recoiled.
It was an Alpha. The Cornerstone had no effect on it, which meant that...
“Avenge your sisters, High Priestess” urged the Patriarch, in the same tone of voice he used to preach his previous speech. “Avenge the Sacred City, the work of our ancestors, the foundations of our world.”
You trembled so violently that the medallion swayed on your chest, emitting pale flashes when the sun hidden in the fog reached its surface with some of its rays. The leash tightened abruptly, making you cough.
A part of you wanted it, you couldn't lie. A part of you wanted to return all the harm they had done to you, added up and multiplied by a thousand. The other part of you, much larger, was horrified by your own thoughts.
“Do it, Priestess!” the Patriarch shouted, starting to lose patience.
The crowd's shouts increased, some beginning to move towards you. And yet, you heard nothing but your own heart pumping blood at an astonishing speed in your ears. You stood petrified, staring into the red eyes of the black wolf in front of you.
Next to him, the older-looking brown wolf growled fiercely at you, showing canines as long as your skinny hand. The rest of their packmates did the same, trying to wriggle under the ropes that held them down to the ground. The Alpha was silent, impassive, with his nose held high and a haughty gaze that made you feel even smaller.
The Patriarch took two steps forward and grabbed you by the back of your neck with claw-like fingers, forcing you to stoop abruptly to be at the beasts' level. Some nobles suddenly fell silent, and the boos wavered at the holy man's gesture.
No one, not even him, was allowed to touch you. But everyone seemed to forget that small detail when they heard the words the Patriarch articulated, leaning over you towards your ear. He didn't whisper them, he shouted them in your ear so that everyone could hear.
“Don't you remember, Luna?” he accused, digging his nails into both sides of your neck. “Don't you remember your sisters' corpses? How these monsters ripped their lives away in front of you? Kill them! I command you in the name of the Goddess!”
The shouts of indignation filled the courtyard once again, and this time you heard them as if they were shouting in your ear, echoing, as if inside a cave. Tears bathed your cheeks and flooded your eyes when you opened them to face your fate. The leash writhed with such fury that you thought it would break, and before you could even realize it, you had stretched towards the strands of light that connected you to the werewolves. You grabbed them tightly and with a sharp pull, broke them.
The werewolves' bodies fell to the ground immediately, lifeless.
Silence fell in the Empress's Courtyard like in a tomb, only the echoes of the boos accompanied you for a few seconds before dying in the vastness of the air. No one dared to utter a word. A dull ringing settled in your ears, and your vision blurred, you staggered and fell painfully to your knees in front of the Alpha, who was still alive. You had never exerted so much energy in the three years you had been bound to the Stone, and suddenly you felt as if a herd of wild stallions from the steles had trampled over you.
The creature had remained as petrified as you at first, and moments passed before it reacted. The werewolf let out a chilling howl that made the crowd take a few steps back, screaming in fear as they cowered behind the line of security formed by the Praetorian Guard.
The Alpha tried to rise and lunge at you, but the ropes and the soldiers holding him back prevented it. The Patriarch pulled your arm back to move you away from it, dragging you across the courtyard floor, while turning to his personal escort.
“Bring me the Reaper's Tear!” he ordered. “Let's put an end to this once and for all.”
That seemed to snap you out of your stupor, because you turned your head towards him like a spring and began shaking it compulsively to refuse, while trying to free yourself from his grip. You knew what that Reaper's Tear was and what it would signify.
"No! I don't want to! Abeoji, no! Please, Abeoji. Don't make me do it, I-"
The slap silenced you, and the nobles and commoners exchanged astonished looks and whispers. Such aggression was punishable by death. You brought your free hand to your left cheek, which was beginning to redden. The characteristic metallic taste of blood filled your mouth.
"You will, Luna," the Patriarch seemed to hesitate, perhaps afraid of his own actions. There would be no way for the Ecclesia to overlook this, “it is your sacred duty.”
A soldier approached with a long white wooden case and bowed to open it for you. He didn't meet your eyes when he said, "The Reaper's Tear, Luna."
You shook your head frantically, trying to pull away, but the Patriarch pulled your arm towards the case. Inside was a double-edged saber, almost as long as your forearm. Embedded in the hilt was a white gem in the shape of a tear. The scriptures said it was a tear of the Goddess solidified into a precious stone, found at the source of the Idris River, in the Northern Mountains.
You had always feared it, but never as much as in that moment. It was an execution weapon, used for special cases where the Anchor Stone was ineffective. It was mainly intended for High Priestesses who had broken their vows in some way.
The Patriarch gripped the saber and closed your fingers around the hilt, using his own hand to cover yours and prevent you from letting go of the weapon. The previously noisy crowd had become as silent as a group of millennia-old statues. The Patriarch looked at the soldiers holding the wolf down with a grim expression.
"Hold the ropes tight. If anything happens to our Luna, you will face the consequences."
In response, the men pulled on the ropes holding the creature to the ground. The Alpha was forced to shrink further into the ground, so much so that he couldn't even lift his head from the cobblestones, and the rope dug into the skin of the pack leader, eliciting a deep growl as he showed all his teeth. You sobbed again, though the Patriarch didn't care, he kept pulling you towards him. There was no way you could escape his grip, as he held you firmly against him with one arm, while grabbing your hand with the other.
"Abeoji, Abeoji, please. I beg you-
“Silence, child,” the man cut you off, half-whispering by your ear, “High Priestesses do not plead.”
You had been explained many times since you passed the Junction. You must not ask; you must demand. And you wanted to do it, you wanted by all means to regain control of the situation and not have to beg anyone. By the time you wanted to realize it, you were eagerly seeking the strands that connected you to the Alpha and thus give him a clean, dignified, and painless death.
But almost all the power you had accumulated in the Cornerstone had dissipated like mist after killing seven wolves at once, so the strands of light were very weak, flickering, like stars in the distance. In addition to that, and as you already knew, an Alpha's strands were not reachable for you; they avoided your touch like oil avoids water.
The Patriarch stood in front of the wolf, still holding you with a force that numbed your whole body. He raised his arm, dragging your armed hand with him, ready to give him a cold-blooded death. Your tear-filled eyes barely managed to discern what was happening in front of you, and you weren't even aware that you were screaming. Still, for a moment as ephemeral as eternal, the gaze of the pack leader came clear and unobstructed into your field of vision.
It had stopped growling, and its body languished on the ground, defeated. In its sad, red eyes, there was no hatred.
There was forgiveness.
You cried louder, screamed louder, writhed more violently. You frantically searched for the strands again, but this time not the ones that connected you to the wolf.
You wanted the Patriarch's. Your arm was already descending on the Alpha's head; you stretched as far as you could towards the strands, trying to grasp them, but it was already too late.
Your eyes snapped open, and the darkness of your room welcomed you back to the land of the living. You opened your mouth, seeking air with your irregular, shallow breaths, your hands clenched into tight fists gripping the sheets between your fingers. You instantly realized you weren't the only thing you were holding onto tightly.
The strands were there, and you clung to them as if your life depended on it. But there was a problem; you weren't wearing the Cornerstone, obviously, and it wasn't even near you. You had no idea what happened to the pendant at night, but you had somehow managed to tap into its power to channel it anyway.
You let go immediately, scared, terrified. How was it even possible? You had grasped the strands in real life after dreaming about it. And even more panic set in, settling in the pit of your stomach like a tombstone at the entrance of a crypt.
Your body reacted before your mind did, and you were already sitting up on the mattress, hugging your knees tightly. What if you had unintentionally hurt someone? In your dream, you had killed seven wolves, just as it happened on that fateful day. Those nightmares had been more than recurrent in recent days, and in fact, there hadn't been a single night where you hadn't dreamed of something similar. But none had ever been so concrete, so detailed.
So realistic. Just as it had happened that day.
In the darkness of the room, you huddled in place, trembling. It wasn't because of the cold, as the Pack House had a heating system that left you as amazed as the rest of the innovations the Clear presented in contrast to the wild and grotesque image you had been instilled with about werewolves. It wasn't the cold, no, it was fear. Of yourself and what you could unwittingly do.
You found it impossible to fall back asleep for the rest of the night, even though you tried. You needed all the energy you could gather for the tasks that would be assigned to you from then on, and it wasn't as if your body had fully recovered from everything that had happened since you arrived at the pack. But you couldn't complain. Keeping silent and obeying was all you could do.
You thought it would be easier to earn respect among the werewolves, or so you had imagined when Namjoon and Jungkook proposed to support them in the upcoming war in exchange for your "freedom" and the promise that Hana would be safe. Not that you had any other option but to accept; playing with Hana's well-being was inconceivable for you, and you wouldn't have endured being isolated and sane for much longer. At that moment, it had seemed like a beneficial deal for both parties, but you were increasingly realizing that it actually only made things easier for them. You, on the other hand, remained in the same position as before. Maybe out of a cell, but controlled, deprived of your vital energy source, watched, and hated.
What had really changed?
That same question was on your mind when later that morning, you saw a cow up close for the first time.
Dasom had taken you to the corrals on the south side of the Clear, where the sun warmed the grass most of the day. That was where the cows gave birth to their calves and where they were raised for the first few days before being moved to the greener, fresher pastures in the northern area. Anyone would think that a small newborn calf next to its mother was an endearing sight to immortalize forever as a memory; Mother Nature in her kindest form; the circle of life, blah, blah, blah.
It terrified you from the moment you heard their lowing up close.
Digging your heels into the muddy ground, you came to a sudden stop. Dasom, the Cornerstone hanging on her chest, looked at you, raising an eyebrow, with a smirk of superiority that would have made you angry if you weren't too busy trying not to run in the opposite direction.
"What are you waiting for, priestess?" she asked, leaning her arms on the corral fence. “Come on, get in. Cows don't herd themselves.”
Clenching and unclenching your fists under the sleeves of your shirt, you tiptoed to the gate of the corral. The cows watched from inside every step you took as they chewed the grass leisurely. They didn't seem to get upset when you infiltrated their domains, nor when you approached them and their offspring. One of them emitted a deep moo, to which two others responded.
The sound startled you, and you flinched. You heard a small wave of barely contained laughter rise behind you, and when you looked over your shoulder, you saw several Hippei and other pack members watching you with a mix of mockery and curiosity that made you blush with embarrassment. Dasom smiled, satisfied and pleased with herself.
Determined not to let them have fun at your expense, you turned to face the cows. Come on, you had survived a city takeover, an arrow shot, and had lived until then in a pack of werewolves. How could a seemingly harmless grass-eater like that scare you?
Pulling on the mothers' bells to guide them into the corral stable wasn't so difficult, especially because they followed each other. They seemed accustomed to it because the cow you chose to lead first didn't even moo when you started pulling on her collar. The rest followed at a painfully slow pace, but eventually, they all ended up inside. The calves didn't stray from their mothers, so they naturally moved with them.
Except for one. It was smaller than the rest, and more agile. Although you tried several times and in different ways, under the mocking gaze of the other werewolves, the calf didn't even let you get close to it. Luckily, it still didn't have horns and was too young to really hurt you when it pushed you out of its way with a headbutt. It sent you backwards onto the ground in a puddle of mud, and it entered the stable alone.
With a heavy heart, you rose from the ground, trying to maintain your dignity as best as you could, and slammed the barn door shut. As you turned to look at Dasom, she didn't bother hiding the smirk of satisfaction on her face.
"We may question your methods, priestess, but not your results," the laughter was widespread. Some of those present began to move away to tend to their respective tasks, seeing that the show was over. "Alright, go tidy up. I'll talk to Namjoon about your next assignment."
You didn't even spare her a last glance before bowing your head slightly and slipping away from the corral towards the Pack House. The mud made your already soaked clothes cling to your body like a second skin. You hugged your torso and quickened your pace. You prayed not to run into anyone familiar until you reached your room, but you didn't even reach the main door before it swung open.
You managed to halt your steps before colliding head-on with someone.
Please let it be Jin. Please let it be Jin.
"Luna?" you cursed under your breath in every language you knew as you recognized Jungkook's voice. You didn't have the courage to look up. The embarrassment tingled in your cheeks. "For Moon's sake, what happened to you?"
Seeing that you didn't react, the Alpha gently lifted your chin with the back of his index finger. His touch sent shivers down your body, and you swallowed hard. Now you were more than obliged to answer.
"Dasom thought I could use some experience herding a flock," you admitted quietly, avoiding eye contact.
Jungkook tried his best not to offend you with a laugh and cleared his throat, clasping his hands behind his back.
"I see, those little ones can be quite unruly. Go change or you'll catch a cold with your clothes this wet," you hugged yourself tighter, feeling mortified, trying to make yourself small in place. Seeing your discomfort, he seemed to want to change the subject. "A calf knocked me to the ground the first time I tried to herd them into the barn...," that almost drew a smile from you. "Besides, I fell flat on my face, so you've done better than me."
You dared to look at him, perhaps to see if he was teasing or being serious. He simply gave you one last half-smile before stepping aside and gesturing for you to enter the house.
You obeyed without saying another word.
That night, you dreamed again of the day you killed the wolves. And you woke up screaming, clutching the strands as tightly as if you had never left the Cornerstone.
The next day, by Jungkook's order, Hana was allowed to have breakfast with you at the Pack House. Sitting at the table in the backyard garden, she barely stopped talking long enough to swallow the oatmeal cookies that Jin, pale from carrying the Cornerstone, had specially baked for her. But it didn't matter to you; just seeing her golden skin regain its vibrant color and the sparkle of happiness in her eyes was enough comfort for you. That's how you knew your pain was worth it. Hana was happy in the Clearing. And you would be willing to return to solitary confinement as long as it stayed that way.
The pack accepted her. They adored her. Even Hoseok. Hana made flower crowns for him and Yoongi every day, and they wore them on their patrols. That sight wasn't funny enough to alleviate the terror you felt towards both Hippei. The memory of Hoseok's fangs on your neck on the night you entered Yerin was enough to make you feel so scared you could vomit.
Shortly before noon, Taehyung arrived at the house with Yeji to pick up Hana and take her with the rest of the children to help prepare the meal for the Hippei going on a long patrol. You could barely hold back the tears when Hana kissed your cheek before running off to Yeji. She waved goodbye and disappeared into the house. You knew the Alphas didn't allow you to spend much time with her to remind you who was in control, and you were grateful that Hana didn't realize those things. Everyone told her that you were very busy helping the pack (which was partly true) and that you would soon be able to spend more time together.
That was just a message to you.
Cooperate, and we'll allow you to see her.
So that's what you did. You helped Jin, now without the Cornerstone, clean the breakfast dishes and headed to the Nursery, where Jimin was with the mentioned gem, performing his own tasks of caring for the youngest pups. You were not allowed to enter the Nursery under any circumstances, so you simply knocked on the door and stepped back a few paces.
"I'm coming, Luna!" Jimin's voice was perfectly audible from the other side of the door.
Your bond with the Cornerstone churned inside you with such force that it almost made you nauseous. You took a deep breath, and upon opening your eyes, you saw the strands as vividly as if they were something physical that everyone could touch. You instinctively reached out, thirsty, hungry, but the strands avoided your touch. You brushed against them. Your whole body vibrated. Sweat began to bead on your forehead. It was agony.
You looked up at the sky. The zenith was approaching again. That thought hadn't left your mind since the moment you left the cell. If you weren't given the Cornerstone before, the stone itself would kill you when you tried to put it on, if they ever allowed you to do so. That had to happen before the Cornerstone regained its maximum energy with the Zenith.
And yet, you were sure you would need a good excuse for the Alphas to even consider the idea.
Jimin came out of the Nursery with a furrowed brow, and you immediately moved away from the strands. The Omega's face seemed to relax somewhat, and he rubbed his eyes. It was clear. The stone bearer could feel it if you tried to reach the strands. That was dangerous. But Jimin wasn't, right?
"Hello, are you okay?" you asked, trying to control the tremor in your voice.
"Yes, it's just that..." he seemed to hesitate for a second. He didn't seem very sure about admitting that wearing the stone made him feel unwell. "I'm tired. I haven't had a good night."
You forced a smile and waited for him to stand by your side to start walking. Your morning task was to weed the fields to the south of the Clearing for the upcoming planting.
"It seems we're both in the same boat, then," your words made Jimin look at you carefully for the first time. Despite starting to gain some weight and generally looking healthier, dark circles still framed your eyes.
“It must be something seasonal,” Jimin agreed, with his characteristic warm smile. Although it didn't last long. “Lately, no one sleeps well. Jungkook has been waking up the entire Clearing two nights in a row in the middle of the night...”
He suddenly fell silent, perhaps realizing that you were not a reliable member of the pack and that he shouldn't talk about those things with you. Lest you use it against him in some way. However, although that would have hurt you in a normal situation, you were too busy processing what he had just said.
Two nights in a row. The nights you woke up clutching the strands. You almost trembled. What if Jungkook found out in some way?
“I really can't imagine someone like Jungkook having a nightmare,” you said, pretending not to have attached much importance to it. “He and Namjoom don't seem like the kind of people who are... afraid of something.”
Jimin turned his gaze forward and seemed to ponder your words. You evaluated his face. He seemed on the verge of wanting to say something. His lips were pressed. There were too many things you didn't know about the members of the Pack. Everything was working against you. You needed answers. Any, at least.
You seized the opportunity.
“Jimin, what's going on?” you asked, halting your walk. If he couldn't be distracted while walking, there was a better chance that Jimin would succumb to the pressure of your questions.
He looked at you. His eyes were filled with the desire to respond. To trust. Hope surged in your chest. You didn't have time to feel bad about what you were about to do; you were too anxious for it. You reached out to the strands and deliberately brushed against them in desperation. Jimin grimaced, and his shoulders slumped. It worked; that was all it took to break down his defenses.
“The Cornerstone... I told him that getting close to it is dangerous, that it makes you sick...” His voice seemed to be dominated by a weariness that you hadn't seen in him until now. “But he doesn't listen to me.”
Did that mean that Jungkook also wore the Cornerstone? When? During the day, someone always accompanied her or was near her, except...
At night.
Was that why he woke up screaming? Did you... manage to hurt him?
“Not long after you arrived, before they sent you to the isolation cell, Jin hyung found something in one of our oldest tomes. One that was destroyed and of which we only preserved a few pages,” he spoke so softly that you had no choice but to lean in close enough to feel his breath on your face. “It said that the power of the Cornerstone only manifests if there is a living vessel, that it...”
“That it only works if the High Priestess wears it, yes,” you completed, but that wasn't all. You were aware that they knew more, and not just from what you had told them. “And also...”
“The Cornerstone must always have a bearer. Even when it's not the High Priestess. This is how the balance is maintained. If the Cornerstone is left alone for too long, without someone to carry it...”
“No one knows. It has never happened, but... It's better not to find out.”
Jimin looked up at you. You nodded. Yes, that was a basic principle. You doubted they would believe you if you tried to explain it, so you had limited yourself to saying that you needed to be close to her to avoid getting sick. That was true, but not the whole truth.
Even so, they knew it all. They knew you hadn't been entirely truthful. Your stomach tightened. A cloud covered the sun and a cold wind rose in the Clearing, tousling your hair.
“Jungkook takes care of it at night, doesn't he?”
Jimin simply nodded.
There was finally complete truth between you and the pack. If they knew that, perhaps they could understand you, perhaps they would understand that all this would be of no use if the zenith killed you. You reached out and clasped Jimin's hand. He started, but didn't pull away. You were trembling. He noticed and took your other hand, concerned.
“Luna, are you okay?”
You didn't respond immediately. Your head was spinning in every direction, evaluating every possible thing that could happen if you did what you were about to do. You looked into the Omega's eyes, and he returned an intense gaze.
You would never be completely sure if you could trust him until you tried. But you needed to trust someone for once in your life.
You couldn't do it alone.
“Jimin. I haven't been completely honest, with you or anyone, and... I'm going to be honest now.”
The Omega squeezed your hands. At no point did you see a hint of anger or mistrust. Only hope. He knew you kept secrets, just as you knew they did the same. You had to start somewhere if you wanted the alliance to make sense... and if you wanted to survive the war that was to come.
“I'm listening, Luna.”

to yours, jongho
ateez busker! jongho x gn! reader fluff, angst wc: 1.8k warnings: injured reader (wheelchair-user and is said, described a few times) a/n: another inspired by one episode in the kdrama called 'tomorrow'; song has no connection to the storyline! only this song was used for the plot in the kdrama itself, and it's good! + lyrics used in the fic are from random songs, i will input it after the fic. thank you!
"How was everyone's day today? It's almost time to finally rest our eyes and end the day. There is a saying by Talmud, that rather regretting things that happened, regret the things that have yet to happen and haven't done yet. The last song for today is..."
The lady behind the radio solemnly introduces the song but it quickly fades as the bus zooms away, leaving you alone under the heavy drops of the pouring rain.
Just there. Sitting on the your wheelchair beside the bus stop, letting yourself get rained on, hopeless, tears mixing with the drops of rain in your cheeks. It was almost midnight and not even going home was on your mind, nor finding a shelter to be under in.
It felt like it was you against the world. The only thing that made you happy, dancing, was now impossible and out of reach just because of a single injury.
You glance at your casted foot and braced knee, prompting more tears to flow out of your eyes. You thought you've ran out of tears when you got your injury, your eyes seemed to always prove you wrong.
Your thoughts come to a stop when someone reaches out an umbrella over you, letting the rain fall on his back. You reluctantly and emotionlessly face the person, quietly asking him what he needed.
Surely, he's not a thief- if he wasn't dumb enough to see you still on your hospital dress.
"I'm busking near Han River tomorrow night, same time. Do you want to come?" He tries to be cheerful as he offered, his voice soft.
"Sorry. I don't have time for that." You turn, ignoring his presence again and facing in front.
"You have a whole day to decide, you shouldn't give me an answer now. It feels like you're not interested and it hurts. Do I look like I'm not a good singer?" He jokes around, but your face doesn't even budge for a small smile. He awkwardly coughs, regaining his composure. "Come on, I'll give you a VIP spot, just for you!"
"I told you I don't have tim-,"
"If you go around the corner of the convenience store there, you'll find me. Not if it's raining this hard, though! I'll have to cancel and move it to the next night. I'm a pretty famous busker there, so make sure you go early! I'm expecting you!" He blabbers, almost not making you understand.
He quickly hands you his umbrella and runs through the rain, crossing the road safely as your eyes only follow him.
When he's out of sight, your eyes trail to his umbrella, yellow brightly lighting under the lamp post.
Tomorrow's another day. Written on one side of the umbrella, with a drawing of a sun plastered beside the words, you sigh.
"Right. Another day."
It felt like it was just a blink. Did you even sleep? You rise on your hospital bed, finally zoning back in reality.
"Good you're awake. I just finished your discharge papers. Secretary Jeong will be outside after you've changed. I need to go to my office for more paperworks. Make sure you're not a pain in the ass like last night." Your mom only carelessly caresses your hair before leaving, leaving you on your bed.
Your eyes trail outside the window, sun brightly beaming its last hour.
You sigh, calling a nurse to help you around to change your clothes instead. When you were done, you were assisted out of the ward in a wheelchair, getting passed onto your family's secretary.
By the time you got home, there was nothing to do but to stare outside the window. Doors locked, eyes were on you 24/7. The sun sets in front of your eyes and it makes you dread the incoming day once again, the moon isn't even up yet.
You hear a knock outside your door, but you didn't bother even answering, knowing all too well that it didn't matter if you did. They'll force their way in, anyway.
"It's Secretary Jeong, y/n, it's late and you haven't taken any meals for today." The second you glance at the clock, it was already eight in the evening. Your eyes go back to the window, and the moon was already up. Although you swore you just saw the sun setting a minute ago. "Do you want anything?"
The secretary doesn't even expect any answer from you, but stays behind you anyway.
"Fresh air. Outside." You simply say, not even glancing at the secretary.
"You know I can't do that."
"Then try not asking next time." The oh-so-sweet attitude of yours was now long gone. As you glared at the window after being ticked-off, Secretary Jeong sighs.
"Fine. As long as this doesn't reach your mom, okay? And please, no wheeling away."
You and Jeong, as you like to call him, drive to the nearest park in your house, which is coincidentally the Han river park.
He takes you around to get the fresh air you've been wanting, holding your wheelchair tightly at all times. You do nothing and plan nothing but to admire the night view, trying to cheer yourself up.
"..Mic check, mic check..." A loud and clear voice followed by numerous cheers perk your interest in one corner of the park, and you let out a small chuckle. Jeong double checks if he hears right, furrowing his brows.
Your eyes wander around and you see the convenience store in another corner, and a forming crowd in another side.
"Right. Can I watch?" You go back to having a poker face, glancing at him. He reluctantly nods and pushes your wheelchair on a side where the crowd can't trample on you, but the singer is visible anyway.
"Then, I'll start now. Please look and listen to us prettily," He smiles and points at the people behind him having cajon and a piano on the side. He looks around first with the goal of finding someone before sighing and prepping.
A rose blossoming among the concrete Please be alive Thrive and grow, don’t snap A blanket of thorns How tough it must’ve been Thank you for standing strong
He starts off solemn, cheery. He gains a few more people to listen and interestingly look at him, singing along and waving along. The lyrics hit you like a brick, making you sigh. You enjoy the way the words flow out of his lips melodically, like it was so easy to do in real life.
“I didn’t want any of this” I can say I can hate but nothing will change Looking back now I see the me with eyes forward Standing strong getting’ by moment to moment Didn’t think much just believed in me ... I’m a rose among the concrete Until this bleak city becomes filled with color I’ll keep my head up, stand my ground until the very end Until they get drunk off of my scent and smile
When he finished the song, he gained a loud cheer and applause, making him shyly succumb behind the thin mic stand while muttering continuous thank you's.
"Okay. That was our first song," He smiles, eyes still looking around. When he finally sees someone sat on a wheelchair just behind the crowd, he finally heaves a sigh of relief and smiles at you. "It's not the end of the world. You can bloom even in the smallest things, unexpected places. You can cry, you can take a break. As long as you don't give up, the world will be a better place."
He doesn't break eye contact as he says everything, smiling at you and then back to the crowd as if he didn't do anything such as change your life by helping you.
"Okay, next song!"
Jeong takes a good look at you, because finally, after weeks, there was a smile on your face and as much as his phone was getting bombarded by your mother's calls, he couldn't care a second.
"Let me finish another song and then we'll wrap up for today. Again, tonight too, it has been Choi Jongho, everybody. Thank you!" All that mattered was his name. He still introduced the ones that came with him, though. You just didn't care.
Though a permanent scar May be the price of holding you I'll give my all to you, to you ... So you won't get any scars, I'll hold you Even when I'm hurt, I'll guard you No need to worry, I'm here for you Look at my smile, it's my all for you When all lights fade When I sink to the ground When I drown in despair I'll still hold you close
"Did you enjoy? I thought you didn't have time?" Jongho, after fixing his things and bidding goodbye to his group, has come and smile brightly at you. "I told you I had a place for you. If you came a it earlier and where I can see you, I would've placed you there beside us."
Jeong only walks a few steps away in confusion for your privacy, still keeping his eyes on you.
"Who did you come with? Who's he?" Jongho curiously looks at the man, and Jeong only looks back. When he gets no answer, he takes his eyes back on you. "Are you that starstruck?"
"Thank you." You smile, "I actually didn't remember until awhile ago, when I was already here and you were already starting. I'm glad I wanted fresh air. I'm glad I was taken here. I'm glad to hear you sing. But most importantly, I'm glad that you had the most melodic voice I ever heard." You joke around, chuckling. He also laughs wholeheartedly, smiling at you.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it too, then."
"Those songs too... Thank you. I'm not saying you sang it for me, but it definitely did its part for me. So thank you, Mister Choi Jongho." He gives you a small smile and extends his hand for you to shake.
"I believe I deserve an incentive." He sharply inhales and glares jokingly at you.
"Oh. Right. I don't have anything on me, but Jeong will." You were about to signal for Jeong when he takes your hand, shaking it.
"I was joking. Your name will do. So let's start again. Hi, I'm Choi Jongho and you're...?" Jongho smiles expectantly, waiting for you.
As your name slips out of your lips, he shakes your hand mumbles a nice to meet you.
"Don't you think you owe me another one for my umbrella?" He shakes his head, looking down on his feet. You chuckle, asking him what he wanted.
"Is it finally money because I can call Jeong,"
"Your number and maybe a few dates?" He mumbles, looking wherever except your eyes.
It takes you a few seconds before you break into a genuine smile, reaching for his phone in his hand.
"There." You give it back to him and he squeals internally, giddily on his toes and checking his phone.
"Okay, maybe that umbrella- I just found it on the lost and found area. But it served great purpose!" You gasp at the confession, finally laughing at your heart's content.
Because finally, even when you thought your world has just been broken down to pieces, an angel has come and saved you.

Break my Walls P.7
Genre: A/B/O, Poly BTS and Reader
Warnings: angst, omegaspace, eventual smut, slow burn, angst, fluff, polyamorous relationship, sexual themes, implied sexual interactions, name calling, cursing.
If you’re not 18+ please, do not interact.
As always, my works do not represent BTS in any way, this is purely a work of fiction.
"Thank you for meeting with me Kang Dae, I'm sure you are very busy, especially with the Choi Pack pulling their support. I wonder, how many packs will follow" Namjoon begins, taunting him.
"I don't think anyone will, we have strong allies, Kim" Kang replies, icily.
"That's not what we have been hearing" Jin voices
"Shut it, Omega, let your Alpha do the talking" Kang barks, causing the entire Kim pack to growl.
"I would chose my words very carefully Kang, we happen to have a lot of information about your underhand deals that I am sure the council would love to hear about." Yoongi spits out at the man, unable to hold the bite in his voice.
"I don't know what you're talking about" Kang speaks, playing dumb.
"Lack of education for omegas, use of omegas as pleasure objects and breeding, omega negligence, trading omegas for alphas with other packs, murder of omegas and pups alike, shall I go on? I am sure you don't need to be reminded about the Im pack." Namjoon starts
"What do you want, Kim" Kang demands
"An omega and for you to leave our pack out of every affair you have" Namjoon states simply.
"An omega, take your pick!" He exclaims, "whoever you want, but after, you leave and never return"
"Y/N" Yoongi states, leaving no room for discussion.
"Ah, I am afraid she has already been traded. She was due for training but a buddy of mine wanted a nice fresh omega with no training for their packs impending rut cycles. She was the perfect candidate, had I known you had a soft spot-" he was cut off by Namjoon shoving him to the wall by his throat. Tightening his hand on his throat, Namjoon glared heatedly at the pathetic man clawing at his hand.
"When" Namjoon grit out.
"Yesterday I made the deal, she left 20 minutes ago' Kang wheezed.
"Which pack" Yoongi questioned, inches away from harming the alpha.
"Blackthorn, in America" Kang lied, praying they wouldn't see through him.
"You just made a huge mistake" Namjoon stated, dropping Kang and leaving the pack in a hurry.
"We were too late, weren't we?" Jimin whimpered, taking in the anger on his pack members faces from where he and the others had been waiting outside the office.
"We will find her again, even if we have to search in every pack for her. Hopefully we aren't too late" He whispers the last part to himself.
3 days prior to the Lunar Ceremony
Looking around at his pack, Namjoon can feel the lack of hope of finding her. They have searched every pack in North and South America. We even went back to the Kang pack, only to find out that Kang was killed during an attack from another pack.
"Joon, we have another invitation to a Lunar Ceremony. This one has 7 packs total invited." Jin spoke, breaking Namjoon from his thoughts.
"7 packs? That's smaller than normal. Who is the host, any packs we know attending?" He questions
"Hosted by the Moon pack, we haven't seen them in what, 5 years? The only name I recognize on here is the Im pack." Jin replied, "Should I respond the same as the rest of the packs?"
"Say yes, they have been our allies for a long time, we should make sure they know we are still allies with all of the attacks going on recently" Namjoon replied, "I will let the rest of the pack know to prepare some bags. Ask about staying on their territory, the Maknae's need to let loose some."
Present Day
Y/N's POV
I stare at the box on my porch, holding the dress from Jisoo. Grabbing the box, I sigh and take it inside. I walk into my room and set it on my nest, going to take a shower to scrub off the sweat from setting up all day. I make sure to shower quickly, in case I do decide to go to the Lunar Ceremony. I walk over to my nest and open the box, pulling the dress out and setting it carefully on my bed. The dress is made of a silk material, has thin straps that cross multiple times on the back, a split corset in the front, and a high thigh split. The dress was beautiful, it would be a waste to not be worn. I put the dress on, heart starting to race with how well it fits me. I decide that going to the ceremony for a few hours wouldn't hurt and since I'm wearing red I shouldn't be approached by any other packs. I curl my hair and do light make up, since it will be dark I don't want anything drawing attention to me. I look at the time and realize I am already running late. I put on my sandals and begin the trek to the woods. I can already hear the music playing, and the voices of the packs celebrating.
"Y/N! You came!" Chan yelled across the woods, I cringed already regretting my decision. Chan runs over to me and wraps me in a big hug, "I am so happy you came, you're going to have so much fun!"
"I can still go back" I state, shimmying my way out of his arms.
"Come on, come show Jisoo the dress on you" He exclaims, dragging me towards Jisoo and the rest of the pack.
"I knew it would look amazing on you! Are you sure you don't want to find a pack of your own?" Jisoo questions, standing in a skin-tight sleeveless red dress. "Almost every pack is here, why don't you help Chan find a pack tonight" Jisoo prompts, pushing us both to the closest pack with yellow dresses and shirts on.
"Hi! Im pack" The tallest man says, "I'm Jay, I see you're a part of Jisoo's pack, and you're looking for a pack to join" he smiled at Chan, who, for once, looked timid.
"Hi, I'm Y/N!" I said, "This is Chan, he's normally not like this, I typically can't get him to stop talking." I joke, linking arms with Chan, "I think he just needs some food in his system, feel free to find him later." I smile and guide him towards the food.
"Alright, hot shot, what happened" I question.
"I don't know, I just wasn't feeling the connection" He whispered.
"So, you want to find your mate, or mates, and their pack?"
"I guess, I just hear about them and is it wrong to think that I could have one or more mates?"
"I think that you find your own pack and they become mates, or else we wouldn't have so many packs that form and separate." I share, "But we will find the perfect pact for you, I promise, I know how much this means to you" I comfort him.
"Thank you, I know this isn't your thing, but it means a lot to me" He responds
"I think you have some admirers" I nudge Chan towards the two men wearing white and standing on the edge of the forest.
"They're beautiful" Chan whispered. I grab his hand and pull him towards the two, causing their eyes to widen. I push Chan slightly in their direction and watch him walk the rest of the way on his own. If this is the only thing to come of the night, it was worth coming. I turn to head back to the table of food when I smell lavender and coconut, stopping me in my tracks. They can't be here, Jisoo wouldn't befriend packs like them. I look around in alarm, trying to pinpoint where he is, when orange blossom and lilac invades my senses. My heart begins to bleed from the wounds I thought had healed. The aching returning full force. I lock eyes with Jisoo, and standing right in front of her is a face I will never forget, Kim Seokjin. Jisoo points in my direction, causing Jin to whip around and search the area. I freeze, my breath caught in my throat, hair standing on edge. What if Kang wants me back, I can't go back with everything that I know. So focused on staying out of Jin's line of sight, I don't realize that the scent of lavender and coconut getting closer. I turn, ready to flee, when I run straight into a chest, Jung Hoseok. I slowly lift my eyes up and meet his, the smile on his face and tears in his eyes make me pause in my steps.
"We though you were dead" He whispered, brokenly. "Kang-"
"No" I cut him off, "I don't know why you came, or what you gain, but I want no part in it" I speak, words full of venom. His face morphs into shock, then hurt.
"What? What are you talking about, we-" He starts again, only to be cut off by another voice from behind me.
"Y/N?" Jimin's voice asked, raspy as if he hadn't been using it very often.
I take a deep breath and push past Hoseok, not wanting to stay for any more reunions.
"Wait!" Jimin yelled, grabbing my arm and turning me towards him. "Have you been here the whole time? You were never in America?" He asked.
"Why would I have gone to America? Of course I have been here the whole time, didn't have much choice. Your pack saw to that, thanks, by the way" I jerked my arm out of his hand, and walked away.
"My pack did what?" Namjoon's voice questioned.
"I don't have time to go down memory lane" I respond, continuing my pathing to my house.
"You joined the Moon pack?" Jin's voice came, full of emotion.
"No mark though" Hoseok said.
"I didn't, I don't want a pack. That's why I am in her pack colors, so people leave me alone" I comment, "not that its working"
"Y/N, please, talk to us" Jungkook's voice came. By now we had made it to my house, just as it started to rain. I unlocked my door, paused and cursed myself for being a good person, and held the door open for the pack to enter.
"I don't know where your lodging is, but my house isn't close to anything so, unless you want to get soaked, you should get inside" I say, watching the rain get harder.
"Thank you" They chorused as they entered.
"You guys look like shit" I point out, seeing the bags under their eyes and the lifeless eyes.
"I- we know" Namjoon said, "Can you tell us what happened if you didn't go to America? We were told you were traded to a pack in America, we search all of the packs in both North and South America"
"Why? Wanted to rub it in my face that you and Kang broke me? Turned me into a bad omega?" I spat
"Turned you- What are you talking about?"Jin demanded
"I was taken 'shopping' over here, then left in the cold with nothing. You just had to play with me, test if I was following Kang's rules, then tell him how bad I failed"
"We weren't working with Kang" Yoongi said angrily, "We were blackmailing him to get you out of his pack and into ours"
"Right, sure" I say, not convinced, "The rain will clear in the next hour, I want you gone when it ends" I turn and walk to my room to change. I open my door, aware of the eyes on my back. I walk to the bathroom and take a shower, trying to heat up my body, feeling the shock wearing off. I can't hold the tears back, covering my mouth to keep the sobs from reaching the pack in the living room. I feel the water start to turn cold, deciding to get out before I freeze. I change into sweatpants and a loose T-Shirt Chan left the last time he was over. I glance up as a knock rings out on my door, dreading the conversation I know is coming.
"Come in" I call, waiting to see who it is. Jimin's head pokes around the door, eyes widening at the sight of my nest.
"You nest!" He shouts excitedly, causing footsteps to come pounding towards my room. Jin pushed the door open, a hand coming up to cover his mouth, tears filling his eyes.
"Oh my, it's beautiful" Jin whispered, causing me to shrink back into my nest.
"Did you need something?" I ask, looking at Jimin.
"We want to explain our side, but maybe not all of us. It may be easier if Jin or Joon explain, or both" He said, his arm going up to scratch his neck.
"Please" Jin begged, "Let us tell you what happened on our side"
"Okay, but after, you leave" I agree. Jin and Namjoon make their way into the room, "Jimin too, I have questions"
The rest of the pack left to the living room, leaving Jin, Namjoon, and Jimin standing in the middle of my room. They sit on the ground in front of my nest, not daring to ask to enter.
"We went to the Kang pack on behalf of the Choi pack, along with the Lee pack. Choi was withdrawing their help and alliance to Kang due to the trading of omegas illegally. When we did some digging, with help of some information from you. Lack of education for omegas, use of omegas as pleasure objects and breeding, omega negligence, trading omegas for alphas with other packs, murder of omegas and pups, we just- I couldn't let you stay. Our pack had taken to you faster than anyone we've ever met. We went as a pack the morning you had disappeared to ask for you in exchange for us not going to the council and Kang said he gave you to a buddy in America. Yoongi almost killed hime right there. We left immediately for America and searched every pack, only to find out he lied about America. When we went back, Kang was dead. We found you by luck, our pack isn't like Kang's. You have to believe us." Namjoon finished.
"That's why I woke up alone in your nest" I directed my statement to Jimin, who nodded.
"If I had known what was going to happen, I would have never left. We had to have the meeting as a pack, Kang demanded it, now we know why." Jimin spoke, keeping his eyes to the ground.
"Well, I don't know what I believe, but thank you for explaining. You can go now" I say, feeling the hole in my chest getting bigger. I shouldn't have gone tonight, it only led to confusion and opened wounds.
"We will be here for the rest of the week, if you want to talk" Jin said, standing up and leading Jimin out of the room.
"Sweet dreams Y/N" Namjoon said, closing the door behind him. I listened for the front door to close before closing my eyes and letting the tears fall.

KARZ : the debt of love(1)
Masterlist | Next
Pairing: Seokjin x heiress Reader (past) ; Jungkook x idol reader (present)
Summary: the debt of love must always be paid.
Genre: Drama, Fluff, Angst, Reincarnation AU, Revenge.
Inspired by the 1980 movie of the same name. I basically binged 2 versions of the same movie while watching a bts edit on one of the songs of the movie. You don't have to watch the movie to read this.
P•R•O•L•O•G•U•E
"Jin.. Jin... Jin? Where are you my love?" You enter your penthouse apartment, calling out your beloved fiance.
There's sound of chopping in the kitchen.
"In the kitchen my love." He replies.
You enter the kitchen watching him slave over the stove. You wrap your arms around him.
"You don't have to work so hard my love. The cooks fear for their job." You tease him.
"But I like cooking for you princess."
You smile at him. "I have good news."
"What happened?" He asks turning off the stove and washing his hands.
"We won the case. I've finally inherited my family assets. Now I can keep my family and you happy."
He wraps arms around you and lifts you up, twirling you in his arms.
"I'm so happy for you my princess"
"Ok ok put me down."
He gently puts you down." We got to celebrate this." He tells you excited.
"Let's get married."
"All of a sudden?" He asks.
"I wanna be married to you. I just wanted to get these legal hurdles over with. I didn't want to drag you in this mess" you get on one knee taking out rings you'd purchased.
"Will you make me the happiest girl in the world?" You ask grinning.
"Ya! I wanted to propose." He scolds you gently.
"Jin."
He lifts you up. "Yes. I will marry you. I'm yours I'll always be yours in thus life and every life after that. Forever."
You hug him. He wraps his arms around you. Kissing your forehead.
"I love you princess"
"I love you too my prince."
❄️❄️❄️
You and Jin drink by the poolside. You've come to one of the remote properties you own. A villa on a cliff. It's quite a view. It's secluded and perfect.
You spend the days and nights together. Having all sorts of fun. Playing games, eating, dancing, watching stars.
"How does it feel, our honey moon is coming to an end?" You ask Jin.
"I wish it could last forever. That I could keep you to myself forever."
You touch his shoulder comfortingly. "Hey, you'll still have me. This is only the beginning."
He nods taking a sip of his red wine.
"Besides" you add." My mom and younger brother Jimin are excited to meet you."
He nods thoughtfully.
"Are you that sad our trip is ending?" You ask caressing his cheek.
"I'm sorry Y/n."
Your brows furrow. "What's wrong Jin?" You ask concerned. Your body feels numb.
"I'm sorry it had to be this way."
"What are you talking about?" You are confused by his change in demeanour. You try to raise your hand to touch him but there is no strength in your arms.
He kisses your forehead. "Betrayal can only be payed by betrayal. Goodbye my love." He says pushing you off the edge.
15 years later
[We have with us in the studio , everyones favourite the rising star of the music industry. The starlet Melody. ]
[ The charming young star in front of us lives very differently from how it all started. Today we dive into all the details in an exclusive interview to the hymns magazine]
Interviewer (I): Welcome to the studio Melody. We are very happy to host you.
Melody(M): Hello I'm happy to be here, please take good care of me.
I: Known for your vocal range and charming stage presence, you've won many awards at national and international levels. How does it feel ?
M: as everyone knows. I used to sneak out from the orphanage to try busking along with my bestfriend. When I got scouted and later adopted by our CEO. And a lot of rigorous practice and schedules later. I finally got to go on stage and I still remember the euphoria and gratefulness I felt when people started supporting me. I'm grateful to each and every one of my fans.
I: you mentioned your bestfriend accompanied you. Were they also scouted?
M: my bestfriend got adopted and decided to become a doctor.
I: so it was a happy ending.
M: Yes.
I: I heard you're releasing a new album? Can you tell us more about it.
M: Yes ofcourse. This one's really close to my heart. For the first time I got total control over all aspects which is a lot harder than it sounds. Sort of a graduation gift from our CEO. Unlike the music so far. Though all my music does have my personality in it. This is the first time. I've been left to my own devices so as to say.
I: sounds exciting. We can't wait to hear what you've come up with.
M: the album is called 'the girl with many phases' and it is about my journey to becoming the person I am today. The title track is Moon which I co wrote with my bestfriend back in the day.
I: the same bestfriend who's becoming a doctor?
M:*laughs* yes. I hope you'll like it.

✨️✨️✨️
"Good bye and Goodnight Seoul, thanks for having me"
You wave goodbye, sending air hugs hearts and kisses as you go to the backstage, tired a little grumpy and if you don't lie in a bed soon probably sick.
The concert tours were both exhilarating and tiring. You enjoyed being on stage. Interacting with your fans. Going to new places though you couldn't always visit. The travel, the practice, the show all were physically taxing.
As you enter the green room, already removing your accessories, a large bouquet of flower greets you holding which is your bestfriend, Kim Namjoon.
You keep the accessories on the table and run to hug him. He hugs you back.
"Did you come to see the show? "
"Ofcourse my exams got over and I flew to see you. Happy Birthday Melody."
You laugh giddy. "Let me change and let's have dinner." You tell him.
"Ofcourse, I'll be waiting."
You go take a quick shower and change into your normal comfortable clothes.
Namjoon is still waiting when you come back.
"Can't complain. Life has changed. Problems have changed"
"How have you been y/n ? "
"I'm fine."
"You don't look fine. Talk to me Y/nie" He insists concerned.
"What's bothering you then?"
"What about your adopted family."
"I have money, fame, a high paying job, success everything you could dream of but.." You look at him."I still feel empty. I still don't have a family or love."
"They ended the adoption. The CEO and I only have a buisness relationship. I'm just a product to be sold and profit off. Even if I want to go back home. There's no one waiting for me."
Namjoon puts a hand on your shoulder comfortingly." I'm sorry, y/n. Though I can't find you a family. My dad's holding a party since we shifted to our new home. We can still find you a rich handsome boyfriend how about that?" He jokes.
You laugh. "Sounds good."
"I'll send you the invite. My mom would love to have you over. She's always asking about you."
"I'll be there. Just send me the details ok?" You tell him. "Let's go eat dinner now. I'm starving."
You smiled, though a little heartbroken you were happy at least your bestfriend had a better adoption.
You reach Namjoon's home. Calling it a house is an understatement. Its a sprawling mansion.
You call Namjoon to alert him of your arrival. As you hand the butler your car keys. Namjoon comes to greet you.
"Nice house." You comment.
"Yeah I know it's a bit fancy"
"Well clearly someone has gotten used to being rich." You tease him.
He rolls his eyes. "Where's the party you ask?"
"The staff is setting it up.It's in the banquet Hall and besides no one shows up on time they prefer arriving fashionably late."
"You could have mentioned that"
"Hey I just thought we could hang out. Once the party starts I have to make rounds with my parents."
You nod sympathetic. "So what's the plan."
His phone rings. He picks it up. Talking to the person on line as you admire the mansion.
"So hey Y/n-ie. I'm sorry I have an extra class I need to attend. Seriously it's the worst timing. I'm sorry. But you can just chill in the hall. I'll try to come back soon. OK?"
"Ok joonie, see you" you understand he looks as disappointed as you feel to leave but some things take priority for now. You'll always have each other.
Namjoon instructs the butler to take care of you if you need anything. He gives you a hug before he leaves.
You sit infront of the piano and start to play. It's been a while since you played of your accord. Unknown to you a crowd gathers, the staff setting up the hall stop to listen entranced. As you end the song they all applaud. You smile.
You decide to sit on one of the sofas and scroll on your phone using your secret account.
Someone keeps a plate of Appetisers next to you. You look up to see the most handsome guy you've come across in a while.
"Thank you Mr...?"
"Jeon Jungkook Miss."
"Thanks for the food. Can I trouble you to ask for a drink?"
"It's no trouble at all." He says disappearing into the kitchen.
He comes back with a drink.
"A special mocktail for the lady."
"No alcohol?"
"The lady is already intoxicating I doubt any alcohol could compare."
Admittedly your reaction is a bit delayed. Your brain stops working for a moment. Were you being flirted with? Your braincells are screaming may day.
"I guess it all works out then, if I get drunk I may forget and I wouldn't risk forgetting someone so handsome." You say hoping it sounds flirty but not weird.
He laughs and you are mesmerised.
"I'm back y/nie" Namjoon comes in almost knocking one of the vases down.
That clumsy fool. You think.
"Yes yes. Welcome back." You say. Jungkook has already slipped away.
"Let's go to my room." Namjoon takes your hand and drags you to his room. You are left with no choice but to follow. You give one last look towards Jungkook who catches your gaze and smiles making you blush.
Namjoon's closet is large. He always did like clothes and accessory. His room is comfortable and filled with books and art.
"So which one looks better?" He asks showing you his outfits for tonight.
"The black is classic. You can't go wrong with it. "
He nods agreeing. You hug a Ryan plushie and wait for Joon to change looking at your phone.
When he's ready you head back to the party together.
Namjoons adopted father introduces you to every one as a special guest. Jackson, Namjoon's new friend is especially kind to you.
"Hey Namjoonie won't you introduce me." He says.
Namjoon rolls his eyes at his friends antics. "Y/n This is Jackson. My college friend. Jackson this is y/n my childhood friend." Namjoon introduces.
Jackson shakes your hand. "I'm a fan. If it isn't much can I request you to bestow us with your melodius voice."
"I'm flattered.. but I'm afraid I.." You trail of seeing Jungkook eavesdropping on the conversation.
"Come on y/n one song." Namjoon also request.
"Fine." You concede. "But you owe me big time namjoonie."
"Anything you want." Namjoon promises.
So the stage is set and guitar in hand. You begin.
As you sing, your eyes trace Jungkook, who disappears and appears like the moon playing hide and seek with clouds. And as the song comes to an end you get lost in it.
"Though our footsteps may be out of step/I want to walk this path with you/Still with you~~" you sing the last lines as if it were a confession.
He smiles at you, his eyes shining before people come in front of you, blocking your line of sight.
You smile at everyone naturally stepping into the shoes of Melody. It takes a while for the crowd to dwindle by the time Jungkook is nowhere to be found.
And the party ends without you meeting him again.
✨️✨️✨️
You lay in Namjoon's bed. Coincidentally you both have time off together. You have some time before your next tour starts. You're using his phone to try and find Jungkook. It's like searching for a needle in a haystack. But you look through all the pictures of the party posted on Instagram.
"Y/n you do know right.. he might not have been tagged. I looked through the staff list but there's no one by the name Jungkook. You sure you didn't get it wrong?" Namjoon asks. He's left you to your own devices and started painting.
"I'm 100% sure. Why don't you ask again. What if he was a part timer?"
Namjoon sighs. "You're quite stubborn"
"You owe me after putting me on spot on your party like that."
Namjoon groans. "Fine. I'll text again."
You're scrolling eyes tired when you finally see him in the background of the photos. You sqeal. Jumping on Namjoon's bed. "I found him." Namjoon chuckles at your antics.
"Me too. Apparently he's a student. At Smeraldo Universities Culinary Science College. He came here for a summer internship. " Namjoon informs you.
You hug Namjoon excited. "Hey joonie.. do you think we should go to that friends trip?." Your eyes are shining with mischief.

Ten years ago
J POV
I'm nervous
It's my first makeup gig and I don't want to fuck up if I wanna be hired
This company BigHit hired me as a stylist for their new boy band
If I do a good job, they'll hire me permanently
I need this job
Looking at the small paper I have, I call out, "Yoongi?"
One of the seven guys gets up and walks over to me
I turn to get his clothes
"You can put these on and when you're done, I'll fix them", I say as I turn around
"Yeah ok", he answers
When our eyes meet, something inside me shifts
Suddenly, my vision changes and I see what people call colors
Not the usual "black and white" that I normally see
His eyes change color, his hair, his skin, his clothes.
Vibrant colors and shades that I wish I knew the names of
I glance around me and I see the rest of the room is in color too
That means...
He's my soulmate
I look back at him and he's staring at me in shock
"I found you", he whispers
I nod, "You did"
I take the time to really look at him and my god he's beautiful
I reach out and touch his face, making sure he's real
He holds on to my wrist that's touching him
"You're real", he says
"Yeah. You're real too"
"You're eyes are beautiful. I wish I knew what color they are"
I feel my face heat, "Thank you"
He smiles at me and I can't breathe
It's gorgeous
"You're mine", I say, not knowing where this possessiveness is coming from
I just know that he's mine
He nods, "I am. Always. And you're mine"
"Always", I answer
Pulling me to him, he kisses me and I'm so happy
--------------------------------
Present
J POV
"Yoongi! You're all sweaty!", I laugh as he comes straight to me, pulling me into his arms
"Yeah but you love it jagi", he smiles
"Yeah yeah", I laugh, then kiss him
"How's baby boy?", he asks, touching my belly
"Kicking hard", I answer
I'm pregnant and just turned seven months
Yoongi is so happy and so excited
He was over the moon when he found out we're having a boy
He would of been just as happy with a girl but I know that a boy is always wanted at some point
And he can't wait to be a dad
"I have some time before I have to go back on stage. Tae's solo, Jin's solo and then the vocal line is doing "The truth untold""
"Wow that's almost fifteen minutes!", I tease
He laughs out loud, "Yeah"
I take his hand and lead him to the clothing rack
I hand him his clothes for the next part of the concert
"Change first baby"
He nods and takes the clothes
Once he's changed, I fix the clothes, then he leads me to a couch
He rubs his shoulder and I ask, "It hurts again baby?"
He nods, "Yeah. It always does during concerts"
I stand up and move to sit behind him
I start to massage his shoulder
"You don't have to jagi"
"Oh stop. If it helps you feel better then I'm going to do it. Plus I know you love it"
Laughing, he says, "Yeah I do. You know me so well"
I do
And he knows me so well
We spent every day of the last ten years together
We don't hide anything from each other
After that first kiss, we couldn't be separated
BigHit wasn't happy that he found his soulmate so quickly since it's better for idols to be single but there wasn't anything they could do
They allowed me to move into the dorm with him
He told the managers that either he moves in my apartment or I move into the dorm
Since BTS just debuted, he needed to stay at the dorm
So I moved in too
A year later, he asked me to marry him and we've been married for nine years
I love him with everything in me
I'd do anything for him
And he loves me just as much and would do anything for me
We've both proven it ten times over in the last seven years
BTS became huge, a worldwide sensation and I've supported him every step of the way, encouraging him and doing anything I can to help him
Yoongi bought an apartment and we've lived there for the last two years
And now we're having a baby
My life is perfect
--------------
"C'mon Yoongi", Namjoon calls
"Already?", he sighs
"It's ok naekkeo. The concert is almost done and then we can go home and snuggle all night"
He smiles his beautiful smile at me, "That sounds perfect jagi"
I smile at him, then he pulls me to him in a soft kiss
His kisses are the best
"I love you Jo", he says, when he pulls away
"I love you Yoongi", I tell him
"See you in a little bit?"
I nod, "Can't wait"
He smiles, gives me a quick kiss and then he walks towards the stage
"God again?", I whine, "Baby boy you need to stop making mommy pee all the time."
I just went to the bathroom five minutes ago after Yoongi went on stage
I stand up from the couch and start walking to the bathroom
Right before I get there, I hear screaming
And to my horror, my vision changes, the colors fading away, black and white creeping in
No
No no no
That only happens when someones soulmate dies
"Yoongi!", I yell and turn around, running towards the stage
He can't be dead
He can't
He's ok
Everyone back stage is running around, not paying attention to me
I'm able to run up the stairs and on to the stage
I look around frantically, seeing fans being rushed out of the stadium
"Yoongi!", I yell
The guys are crowded around one area of the stage
I run towards them, screaming Yoongi's name
Hobi glances up at me, tears pouring down his eyes
He stands up and starts towards me
"Don't Jo", he says, stopping me from getting closer
"Let me go Hobi", I cry
"No Jo. Don't. You don't want to see him like this"
Pure fear hits my body and I start shaking
"Hobi...let me go. I...let me go!", I yell
"Jo"
I pull away from him and he lets me go
When I get to the guys, I can't believe the horror I'm seeing
Yoongi on the floor, blood all over his chest and his eyes closed
"NO! YOONGI!", I scream, dropping to the floor next to him
"Yoongi, wake up. Wake up!", I cry, shaking his shoulders
But he doesn't open his eyes
He doesn't smile at me, he doesn't answer
This can't be happening
"Yoongi please, wake up"
"Jo...he's gone", Namjoon chokes out
"No! No! Yoongi, naekkeo come back. Wake up! Don't do this baby. Please Yoongi", I sob hysterically
He can't be gone
I need him, he's my everything
We're going to have a baby
He's going to be a dad
He has to be here
"Yoongi!"
Putting my arms around him, I hold him up in my arms, leaning my forehead on his then gripping his hand tightly
I pray that he squeezes my hand back, but he doesn't
"Don't leave me Yoongi. Please baby. I need you. Your son needs you. Open your eyes. Please naekkeo come back", I cry
I can't- the pain I feel inside is killing me
Why did this happen?
Why was he taken from me?
We were so happy, our life was perfect
We're starting a family
Oh god, our son will never know him
He'll never see his father
Yoongi will never see his boy
He won't be there when he's born, he won't be there to raise him
This is a nightmare and I just want to wake up
"Please Yoongi, I love you. I love you so much. I need you Yoongi. Please come back", I beg him
But he doesn't move and my heart shatters
----------
After what seems like forever, Namjoon comes over to me and tells me, "Jo. The EMTs are here. They have to take Yoongi"
No
"No. They can't. He....he has to stay with me."
I can't let him go
If they take him, then it's all real
With him, I can pretend he's not gone
That's he's just sleeping
But if they take him....
My entire world ends
"Jo, they need to take him. They need to clean the blood away", he says gently
"No Joonie. No. If they take him....", I sob
"What Jo? What is it?"
"Then he's really gone. I can't....I can't..."
A person comes over and kneels next to me
"Hi", he says softly
I shake my head
"Is this your boyfriend?", he asks
"My husband. My soulmate", I choke out
"I see. I promise, we'll take good care of him"
"No. I need him. He has to stay with me. He can't go. He's...he's going to be a dad soon"
"I understand. But I'll take him just for awhile, to clean the blood off him. Then you'll be able to see him again ok?"
"I...I can't...I.."
"Jo, it's only for a little while", Jin say softly
No it's not
They're going to take him away and then he has to be buried in the ground
If they take him, it'll be forever
I'll never see him again
I don't know how to handle that
"Please", the EMT says, reaching out to Yoongi
I look back at Yoongi's beautiful face, memorizing every single about him
I gently run my fingers in his hair
"I love you Yoongi. So much naekkeo. Forever."
I lean down and kiss him softly, tears pouring down my face
I look up at the EMT and nod
He motions for his co-workers to come over
"I promise he's in good hands", he tells me
I just nod because there's nothing else I can do
He gently takes Yoongi from me and I watch them put him on the stretcher, wheeling him away
He's gone
My life is over
---------
I don't want to get up
Today is Yoongi's funeral
After he was taken from me, the guys brought me home
They wanted me to stay at the dorm but I didn't want to
I haven't cried so much as I have the last two days
I found out that Yoongi was being brought to Daegu to be buried
No one knows but me and the guys
Yoongi's mom called me and told me I can stay in her house
I just agreed
It's like I'm going through the motions- packing clothes, getting on a plane
And all the while I feel like I'm dying
I hate seeing in black and white
It just reminds me that Yoongi was taken from me
I miss him so much
I can't do anything but lay in bed, staring at a picture of him
I found out what happened the next day after his death
During Mic Drop, some crazy fan in the first row, pulled out a gun when Yoongi got close to him and shot him right in the chest five times
I actually saw what happened because some sick assholes put it on the internet
And it was sent to me by an unknown number
Whoever took the video was close to the shooter and in the front row
I'm guessing it was a fan, just videoing the concert
Yoongi is standing there, smiling and doing the choreography, when suddenly loud bangs are heard and his chest is covered in red blood
The complete look of pain and shock on his face kills me every time I remember
He falls backward, people screaming everywhere and the guys running to him
The video ends there
The piece of shit who killed my baby, was overpowered by security and is in prison
He was going to shoot the rest of the guys too because he hates BTS
He's sentenced to death
I'm glad but it doesn't bring Yoongi back
And that's the one thing in the world that I want but will never happen
I can't stop crying, looking down at Yoongi
The second I walked into the funeral home and saw him in the casket, I lost it
I collapsed on the floor, sobbing hysterically
I couldn't walk, couldn't get up, couldn't see
Yoongi's dad, along with Namjoon and Hobi, got me up and brought me to a chair
Right in front of his casket
I was able to calm down about twenty minutes later but the tears haven't stopped
I finally made it to his casket and I haven't left since then
I can't
I don't want to hear people saying I'm sorry
It means nothing
Not when my world is over
Holding his hand, I gently touch his face, wishing he'd open his eyes and smile at me
"I miss you naekkeo. I don't know how I'm supposed to live without you"
I really don't
How I'm supposed to wake up and him not being there?
How I'm supposed to go through my day without texting him?
How am I supposed to never to hear his voice again or hear him tell me he loves me?
Never feel his arms around me, his kiss, anything
How he'll never see his son, hear him talk, see him grow up
It breaks me every time
I run my fingers in his hair, just looking at him
We're going to the cemetery soon
Once the casket closes, I'll never see him in person again
Only through pictures and videos that I know will kill me to watch
I want to stay with him as long as I can
---------
"Ready Joanne?", Yoongi's mom asks as she comes over to me
"Never", I whisper
"I know. But we have to go to the cemetery now", she says softly
I look at her and nod
She's crying too and I remember she lost her son
I sit down, watching as everyone who came, go to his casket to say goodbye
When the guys each get there turn, they cry hysterically too
They're his family too and they love him
Then his mother and father go
His mother breaks down, his father holding her up
Then it's my turn
And I don't know how to do this
I slowly walk up to him
Holding his hand, stroking his hair for the last time, I talk to him
"I love you baby. More than anything. I'm going to miss you so much. I promise to take care of our boy. He'll know who you are, I'll make sure he does. I hope you're happy where you are naekkeo, in peace and no pain. You made my life so happy and you're the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love you Yoongi."
I lean down and kiss his forehead
I can't say goodbye
That word can't pass my lips
I just can't
I force myself to let go of him and I watch while the funeral home workers close his casket
Forever
----------
Moving hair from my face, I put the books in the box
I'm back in Seoul but I'm moving
To Daegu
At the cemetery, I lost it again when they lowered his casket
Jimin and Jungkook held me up while I cried
I had a panic attack after and Hobi and Tae took me away from Yoongi's grave until I calmed down
After the cemetery, I went back to Yoongi's parents house
They talked to me and asked me to move to Daegu
They want to be in their grandson's life
I was going to move there anyway when I found out Yoongi was going to be buried in Daegu
I can't live in Seoul while he's in Daegu
I stayed in Daegu for two extra days, looking for an apartment and going to Yoongi's grave
I found a two bedroom apartment close to his parents, then came back to Seoul
So I'm back in mine and Yoongi's apartment, packing everything
I'm not throwing out any of his things
They're coming with me
All of his studio equipment is coming with me too
Namjoon and Hobi agreed to pack everything there and ship it to my new apartment
The guys decided to disband BTS
They said it won't be the same without Yoongi and they don't want to continue without him
I sigh and walk back to my bookshelf, grabbing another stack of books
I've been packing for the last three days
I packed Yoongi's stuff first
It was so hard and I cried the whole time
But now, the packing is taking my mind off of things, for awhile anyway
I need to be finished by next week
I sold the apartment and the new owner wants to move in by next week
Since I was married to Yoongi, all his money, his assets went to me when he died
So I'm rich
Like I give a fuck
I'd rather be poor with Yoongi alive than being rich without him
If I could give up all the money to get him back I would in a heartbeat
Nothing can take his place
-------
After I finish packing for the day, I go to bed
But I can't sleep
All I think about is Yoongi
I sleep in one of his shirts every night
I used to do that anyway and even more when I got pregnant
He liked huge shirts and they fit over my belly
I turn to my nightstand and stare at the picture of Yoongi I keep there
He's smiling so wide and looks so happy
I took it the day I told him I was pregnant
His first reaction was to smile and I had to take the picture
"I miss you", I whisper, tears falling, "Why did you have to leave? I can't do this without you. I can't live without you."
The pain takes over again and I feel like I can't breathe
"Yoongi, why? I need you. Come back naekkeo. Please come back. I can't-", I sob
This is pure torture
The agony is there all day everyday
It's so intense all the time, even when my mind is occupied
I know that if it wasn't for the baby, I'd have taken my own life already
To be with him, wherever he is
"I love you Yoongi. I wish you were here"
I close my eyes, crying myself to sleep
---------
"Hi jagi", Yoongi says
I blink and look around
We're in our room at home
And he's here
"Yoongi? Is...is it really you?"
He nods, "Yeah jagi. It's me"
I'm so confused
"But...I saw you...in the casket...did you come back?", I ask hopefully
He shakes his head sadly, "No jagi, I can't come back"
The familiar pain I've been living with roars back to life
"Then how..."
"It's a dream jagi. And I can only come this once"
A dream?
I remember crying in bed at home
I guess I feel asleep
"Why did you leave Yoongi? I can't live without you", I cry
He comes closer and pulls me into a hug
"I didn't want to Jo. I never wanted to leave you or our baby. I wanted to stay with you forever, see our baby be born, raise him, have more babies and grow old with you. But for some reason it didn't work out that way", he whispers
I sob harder, clinging on to him
"How am I supposed to do everything without you? Have the baby without you, raise the baby without you. You're supposed to be there with me."
"I know baby but I know you can do everything. You can have our son and raise him. I know you're going to be an amazing mom. I always knew that."
I hear his words but I don't want to do this without him
I don't want to be in a world where he isn't
"I can't"
"Yes you can. You're my strong girl Jo. You always have been"
"Yoongi....I miss you so much. I need you"
I can't stop crying
He's right here, why can't he just come back with me?
Why can't he stay?
"I miss you too jagi. I'm sorry I'm not there with you."
He moves back a little, lifting my face to his
"But Jo, I'll always be with you. Even thought you can't see me I'm there. I was from the second I died. I was with you when you went to my funeral, when you went to look for an apartment, while you're packing. And I'll always be there with you and our baby. You can always talk to me and I'll hear you. I'll always watch over both of you. I promise"
I nod
I hate that I can't see him, touch him or talk to him but knowing he's going to be with me makes me feel a little bit better
"I love you Yoongi", I tell him
"I love you Joanne. I'll always love you. And I'll wait for you until it's time for you to come ok? Then we can really be together forever", he says
I want that so much
I want to be with him now and it's tearing me apart that I can't
That he's here and I have to be in the real world
"I don't want to wait", I sob
"I know jagi. I don't want to wait either but it's not your time yet. It's killing me to not be with you. I hate that I can see you but I can't touch you or talk to you. Seeing you cry and in so much pain rips me apart Jo. I want to make it better but I can't. I just have to wait for you. And I will. I swear I will jagi. I love you"
"I love you Yoongi. Always"
"Always", he promises
He leans down and kisses me softly
My eyes fly open and I sit up fast in bed
"Yoongi?", I call looking around
"Yoongi!"
He's not here
It was a dream
He's really not here
I burst into tears
I remember everything he said, how it felt to have him hold me again, felt his kiss again, how his voice sounded
And I want him back
I didn't get enough kisses, enough time in his arms, enough of him
He was torn away from me and I can't deal with this
He's not coming back
And he's not coming back in my dreams again
He said he could only come once
I lay back down and cry into my pillow, calling his name
-------------------------------
2 months later
"Push!", the doctor says
I yell as I push hard
The pain in my lower stomach is so intense
"I see his head, push again"
Fuck, I'm so tired, I'm so sweaty and I just want to rest
But I need to get my baby out
I breathe in and push hard, a scream coming out the more I push
I've been in labor for thirty hours and I want him to come out
"Again"
"C'mon baby", I whisper and push again
Shouting and crying I push more
God it hurts so much
"His head is almost out, keep pushing"
I breath in and push, then breath in again and push harder
"Aaaahhhhhhhhh", I scream
"His head is out. One more Joanne"
I gather my strength and push once more
"He's out!", the doctor says
I collapse against the chair, breathing hard
I hear crying and my son is put on my chest
I look down at him and I burst into tears
I love him so much already and he looks just like Yoongi
Everything about him is all Yoongi
"Hi Yoongi. I love you baby boy.", I say, stroking his cheek, "I promise to keep you safe, always"
"Ms. Min, we have to take the baby for his check up. We'll bring him to your room when he's ready ok?"
I don't want to let him go but I nod and they take him
"He looks just like Yoongi", Hobi says
I nod, looking down at my baby boy in my arms
He has Yoongi's face, his mouth, his cheeks, his eyes, his soft hair
I remember the pictures of Yoongi as a baby that his mom showed me once
My son looks almost identical to his father
"Did you pick a name?", Jimin asks
I nod, "Yoongi"
"You're naming him after Yoongi?", Jungkook asks
I nod
"That's amazing Jo. I know he'd love that", Jungkook replies
The guys were waiting outside of the delivery room with Yoongi's parents
I didn't want anyone with me while I gave birth
If Yoongi couldn't be there, I wanted to be alone
Yoongi's parents already came to see Yoongi and hold him
Now the guys are in the room
They each held my boy and now I have him back
He's wrapped in a blanket and he's asleep
I can't stop looking at him
I feel tears falling from my eyes
"Jo?", Namjoon asks
"He ssss...should be hhh..here", I choke out, "He should of been in the delivery room, seeing him be born. He should be here with me now, holding his son, picking his name, seeing him and being happy. He should be here to raise him."
I know Yoongi told me he's always with me
I know he was in the room when his son was born and I know he's here now
But I can't see him, he can't hold Yoongi, he can't talk to him
I'm so happy my baby is here but I'm so heartbroken at the same time
I can't help but cry
"I'm sorry Jo", Tae says softly while Jin comes to me and gives me a quick hug
They stay for another twenty minutes then they leave when Yoongi wakes up so I can feed him
After feeding him, he's still awake and he's looking around
"I love you.", I whisper to him, taking his little hand
His hand closes on my thumb and he holds on tightly
"You look just like your dad. He...he can't be here physically but he was there when you were born and he's here now."
I have to stop for a second before I start crying again
"Your dad loves you so much and he's going to watch over you your whole life. He's always going to be with you and you can talk to him whenever you want"
Yoongi closes his eyes, falling back asleep
I know I should put him in his crib but I can't
I'm terrified something will happen to him
Then I'll really be alone
"He's here baby. Your son is here", I whisper, talking to Yoongi, "I promise I'm going to protect him baby. I'm going to raise him to be a good man just like you. I swear he'll know who you are, how amazing his father was. He'll know how much you love him and me. He'll know you didn't want to leave."
I choke on the last words and start crying again
I don't know how I'm going to do this but I am going to raise my son just like Yoongi and I wanted to
--------------------------------
4 years later
"C'mon Yoonie, we're going", I call my son
He comes out of his room and over to me
"Where we go?", he asks
I kneel down to him, "We're going to see daddy"
A smile bursts on his face, "Yay daddy"
I smile and take his hand
"Ready?"
"Ready mommy"
We leave the apartment and start walking to the cemetery
It's been so hard raising Yoongi alone but I'm doing it along with the help of his grandparents
He's a good boy, he never gives me problems and he's very quiet and calm
And he loves to sleep
Just like his dad
The older he gets the more he looks like Yoongi
He's his spitting image
He knows who Yoongi is and that his dad is in "heaven"
I've shown him pictures and videos of Yoongi since he was a baby
I have pictures of Yoongi all over the apartment, some of him alone, some of him with me and some of him with BTS
When he was a year and a half he was able to identify the picture of Yoongi as daddy
He never asked me why his daddy wasn't with us until this year when he started school
He goes to Pre-K and they talk a lot about families
The only thing I told him was that his daddy lives in heaven and even though he can't see him, his daddy is always with him
I'm not telling him anything more until he's way older
He doesn't need to know his dad was murdered
I take Yoongi to the cemetery once a month
I go a few times a week while he's in school or at his grandparents house
I don't want to take him there all the time
It's not the place for a kid
We get to the gate and go inside
As we get closer to Yoongi's grave, Yoongi points and says, "There's daddy"
I nod, "Yeah Yoonie"
His parents picked a nice big headstone for the grave that includes a picture of him
His stone says, "Loving husband, father, brother and son. He shined brightly and brought so much happiness to the world"
Then there's a lyric he wrote for a song he made for me and Yoongi when he found out I was pregnant
"Hi daddy!", Yoongi exclaims as we get to his grave
Yoongi kisses his hand and puts it against the picture of Yoongi on the stone
I do the same, "Hi naekkeo"
I sit on the grass in front of the stone and Yoongi comes to sit in my lap
"I can talk mommy?"
"Yeah Yoonie, you can talk to daddy"
"Daddy, I draw a picture of you at school. Ms. Ara said to draw my family and I draw you, mommy and me"
I can't help it, tears start to fall while Yoongi talks to his dad
I cry silently, holding my son and looking at Yoongi's picture
I miss him more than anything
People lie
It doesn't get better as time goes on
It gets worse
I still hurt every single day and sometimes it still takes my breath away
Especially at night when I'm alone and he's all I think about
I talk to him all the time
Raising Yoongi without him is heartbreaking
Every time Yoongi does something big, I'm so proud and happy but also devastated that Yoongi wasn't there to see it
Things like when Yoongi started to roll over, sit up, smile, laugh, stand, walk, talk and everything now that he does in school
When I go to his school it hurts seeing the happy parents together
Aside from my son, my life sucks and I'm not happy
Spending time with my son makes me happy but when he's at school or at his grandparents or sleeping, I'm not happy
I still cry from missing Yoongi
All the time
I can't help it, the pain inside overwhelms me
I stayed home to raise Yoongi until this year
When he started school, I got a part time job at a makeup store stocking the products and working the cash register
I need something to do
I can't stay at home all day alone while he's in school
I don't need the money but I need to leave the apartment or I'll go crazy
The hours are flexible so I can drop Yoongi off at school and pick him up
Sometimes we go home, to the park, shopping, to Yoongi's parents house after school or on weekends
I'm so glad I have Yoongi's parents
They love me like their daughter and they'll do anything for me and of course Yoongi.
He's everything to them, just like he is to me
We still see the guys all the time too
They all have successful careers under BigHit
Namjoon is a popular solo rapper and producer
Hobi is also a popular solo rapper and dancer
Tae, Jimin and Jungkook started a vocal group called Maknaes and they're popular as well
Jin went back to acting and he's a famous actors, starring in an award winning kdrama as well as movies
Yoongi and I go to Seoul to see them or they come here to see us
He loves his uncle's and they love him too
Looking around I hate the way everything looks
One of the worst things that hurts me everyday is seeing in black and white
I had to ask Yoongi's parents to tell me what color my son's hair and eyes are
His hair is black, like Yoongi's natural hair color and his eyes are dark brown
My son's eyes are beautiful and sparkle
Just like Yoongi's
It kills me that I can't see the color
And it's a constant reminder that Yoongi is gone
"Sad mommy?", Yoongi asks
"Yeah Yoonie. I'm sad"
"You miss daddy?"
I nod, "Yeah, I miss daddy a lot"
He doesn't say anything, just turns in my lap and hugs me tightly
I hug my little boy tightly, happy that I at least have him and he's such a loving boy
"I love you mommy"
"I love you Yoonie. You're my best boy"
He lets go after a few minutes
I wipe my eyes, then smile at him, "Wanna get ice cream on the way home?"
"Yeah mommy. I want mint chip"
My smile gets wider, "That's my boy"
I can see Yoongi rolling his eyes at the fact that his son likes mint chocolate chip ice cream
But it's my favorite and he learned from me
I stand while Yoongi kisses his hand again and presses it to Yoongi's picture
"Bye daddy"
He waits for me while I do the same again and whisper, "Bye baby. I'll see you tomorrow. I love you"
I take Yoongi's hand again and we start walking
--------------------------------
13 years later
"Mom!", Yoongi yells running into the living room where I'm watching TV
"What's wrong?", I ask, looking to him, concerned
And a little bit scared
I can't help that
I'm always waiting for something bad to happen
Yoongi is seventeen and looks so much like his father did at that age
He even dresses like Yoongi did
"I got in", he says proudly
"You did?", I ask excitedly, "Because if you're joking that's a mean joke to play"
"No mom I'm not joking. I got into BigHit. I'm going to be a rapper and producer like dad was"
I jump up from the couch and crush him in a hug, "Oh my god, I'm so happy for you! This is so exciting!"
"I did it mom", he says hugging me tightly
"I'm so proud of you Yoongi", I say, pulling back, looking at him
I feel tears falling as I tell him, "You're father would be so proud of you"
"Yeah mom? He would?"
"Of course he would. He'd be proud of anything you'd do. He'd tell you that it will be hard and you may get discouraged but don't give up and keep working hard. You'll make it just like he did. You're so much like him"
Tears fall from his eyes as well, "Thanks mom. Thanks for telling me about dad, letting me watch videos of him and listening to his music. I wish I could of met him. And even though I didn't, I still love him"
My heart swells in happiness hearing Yoongi say that about his father
Yoongi grew up knowing all about his father and his career
He showed interest in music from when he was seven
As he got older, I gave him his father's equipment and he used that to make music
He told me he wanted to be a rapper and producer like Yoongi was
So I put him in an arts school that focuses on music
He was a natural at lyrics and composing like his father but the technical side of the equipment and putting a song together was harder for him
Namjoon and Hobi helped him with that until he could do it by himself
Jin, Jimin, Tae and Jungkook helped him learn to sing too
And he even learned how to play piano and guitar like Yoongi did
And when he turned seventeen a few months ago he told me he wanted to audition for BigHit
I brought him to a rap competition like Yoongi went too and he performed where he won first place
He proudly told them he's Min, Yoongi and his father was Min, Yoongi of BTS
Bang was shocked and he asked where I was
Yoongi called me over and I saw Bang again
He told us that Yoongi has talent just like his father did
He was impressed with Yoongi's rapping, his lyrics and producing skills and to expect a call
Apparently that call came today
"I'm so happy for you. You deserve all this with all the hard work you do"
"Thanks mom. I couldn't have done it without you. You're the best mom and I love you"
I smile at him, happy he's such an amazing person
"I love you too Yoongi. You're my baby. I'd do anything for you"
"I know mom. Thanks"
I wipe my eyes, "So when do you have to go to Seoul?"
"By next week. I'm training for a year or so, then I'll debut"
I nod
I'm happy he's achieving his dream but I'm also a little sad that he's leaving
I'm going to miss him but I would never stand in his way
I'll always support my son like I supported his father
"Then you need to start packing"
Yoongi nods then hesitates, "Mom, you can come with me. You can move to Seoul too"
I get why he's asking
It's been just us for his whole life and I know he's worried I'd be lonely
I smile sadly at him, "I can't Yoonie. You're dad is here and I can't leave him."
He nods, "Yeah I figured that"
"But don't worry, I'll come visit you often. And you'll be so busy training that you won't even notice the time fly by"
He laughs, "Yeah ok mom."
"You need to go get boxes for the stuff you're taking. And start packing. So go", I shoo him, smiling
"Alright, alright, I'm going", he laughs
He bends down and kisses my cheek
"See you later mom", he says as he leaves the room
"Be careful", I call
"Always mom!"
The door to the apartment closes and I sit back down on the couch
I look at the picture of Yoongi on the side table and take it in my hands
"He did it baby. He's following in your footsteps. He's going to be as amazing as you were naekkeo. Please watch over our boy while he's in Seoul. I love you Yoongi"
I bring the picture to my lips and kiss it, then place it back on the table
--------------------------------
45 years later
Laying in my hospital bed, I reflect on my life
I lived a long life and I had to do it without my soulmate
My life was hard without him and I never got over his death
I felt the pain of his loss every single day and I came to accept that pain as a part of my life
I never dated again, never wanted anyone except Yoongi
And I still only want him
I had my beautiful son and he grew up to be just like Yoongi
He debuted a year after he left for training and had a successful career
He became worldwide famous like his father and toured all over the world
He found his soulmate and he has a happy life
He gave me four adorable grandchildren that I spoiled and he made sure his kids knew all about Yoongi too
Two of them went into music as well
One is a famous rapper and one is a famous vocalist in a girl kpop group
His other son is a doctor and his last child, another daughter is a makeup artist for an idol group
I worked in the makeup store until I retired
And I went to visit Yoongi every day
I miss him so much
But I know I'll see him soon
I became sick two years ago
I fought for as long as I could for my family but the disease won
I feel myself dying
Some people would be scared
I'm not
I'm happy and excited
I get to be with Yoongi again
"Mom", Yoongi cries as he holds my hand tightly
He's been by my side for days ever since I went into the hospital
"I love you Yoongi. I'm so proud of you", I manage to get out
"I love you mom. Thank you for everything. I wouldn't be the way I am if it wasn't for you. I'm so grateful you're my mom"
I smile weakly
It's getting harder to breath and I cough to try to get air
"It's ok mom. Go to dad. I know you've been waiting to see him all your life. It's ok, I'll be ok. You can be with him again"
I manage a smile as I close my eyes, everything fading away
--------------------------------
Opening my eyes, I'm standing in a familiar park
And everything is in color
I notice my hands
They're smooth like they were when I was young
There's no wrinkles anywhere
And my engagement and wedding rings are still on
I never took them off during my life and I'm glad they're still with me
But....
Where the hell am I?
"Jagi"
I freeze
It's his voice
The voice I missed so much my entire life
I turn around and he's there smiling at me
"Yoongi?", I gasp
"Yeah jagi. It's me. I've been waiting for you"
I run to him, crashing into him and he picks me up holding me tightly
"I missed you so much naekkeo.", I cry, tears running down my face
"I missed you jagi."
"Is this real? Are you real? Or are you a dream?"
Please let him be real
"I'm real Jo. I'm here. You're here"
Moving back I look in his eyes
His gorgeous brown eyes
"Am I staying with you?"
"Yes baby. This time you're staying with me"
I smile and he pulls me back to him, his lips on mine in a kiss that I waited my whole life for
Happiness explodes in my heart and fireworks go off just like they used to
After the kiss, I look back in his eyes
"I love you Yoongi. I love you so much", I tell him, kissing him so much more
"I love you Joanne. More than anything", he whispers, kissing me again
I can't ever get enough of his kisses
I had to be without them for so long and I don't want him to stop
After, he puts me down and takes my hand
"Do you know where we are?", he asks
I look around recognizing the park
"It's where you proposed to me", I answer
He smiles and nods
"Yoongi....I'm dead aren't I?"
"Yeah jagi. I'm sorry"
"Don't be. I don't care. I've been waiting to be with you again", I say softly
Looking at our hands, I'm reminded that I have no wrinkles
"Yoongi.....am I young again? I died an old woman but I don't have wrinkles anywhere"
"Yeah jagi. Here you become the age you were when you were the most happy"
I was the most happy when I was with Yoongi so it makes sense I'm young again
"I'm 26?"
He nods
"Why are you the same? You look the same as when I saw you in my dream"
"Because Jo, the day I died was when I was the most happy. I had you and we were having a baby. That was the happiest time of my life"
I can't explain the elation I feel at his words
"I'm sorry jagi", he says
"For what?", I ask confused
"For not being there with you. For leaving you alone. I was there watching you your whole life and I know how much pain you've been in your entire life", he whispers
"It's not your fault naekkeo. You didn't want to leave. We were ripped apart from each other. And yes I was in pain every day but I also had our son. He made me happy"
"I know jagi. You did an amazing job raising him. You were the best mom to him. I knew you would be. Thank you for naming him after me and always talking about me to him"
He never has to thank me for that
I nod, "Of course Yoongi. I swore he'd know you and he does. He never met you but he loves you. He was inspired by you and wanted to become just like you. A rapper and a producer"
"He succeeded", he says, "I saw him working hard and achieving his dream. And I saw you encouraging and supporting him since he was seven"
"He wanted to make you proud"
He made me so proud
"He did Jo. And so did you. I'm so proud that you're my soulmate, my wife and the best mother my son could ever have."
I smile at him and squeeze his hand
"So uh, what's it like here?", I ask
"Just like the real world except it's peaceful and happy. And we don't age. It is what heaven is supposed to be. I don't know if it's called heaven but it is."
I can sense the peace around here and I feel happy but that's because I'm with Yoongi
"What do we do here?"
"Live jagi. Just like we did before. We still live in the apartment in Seoul and we live like the living do but with no pain, no sadness. And we get to be together"
"Forever?", I ask
He nods, "Yes Jo. Forever"
"I love you", I tell him
"I love you", he answers
He kisses me again, this time a passionate kiss, holding me tightly against him
My arms go around his neck and I hold on to him tightly
I'm so happy
I get to be with my Yoongi forever
Nothing can tear us apart anymore
We'll be together always, just like we wanted
😼😼😼😼😼😼😼😼😼😼
Bonus- Ending in Yoongi's POV
Yoongi POV
I anxiously wait in the park for Joanne to come
I've been waiting 62 years for her
I never expected to be away from her
To be away from my son
That was never a thought in my mind
I thought Joanne and I would have our son, raise him, have more children, get a house together and grow old together
I never thought I'd be murdered
And at a concert in front of thousands of people
I remember the pain and the absolute shock from the first bullet
I couldn't die, I had too much to live for
By the last shot, I knew I was dying and my last thoughts were about Joanne and the baby
Then I woke up here
The afterlife
It's just like living in the real world
Not much is different expect you don't die and bad things don't happen here
But I haven't been happy
I can't be happy without her
I'm still able to be around her even though she can't see me
I hear her talking to me and I talk back but again she can't hear me
I heard every time Yoongi talked to me too
I watched over her and him their whole lives wishing I could be there
I saw what a hard time she was having right after my death
It killed me when she ran on stage to my body
I had to watch her cry, begging me to come back when I was standing right there
I was right next to her but I couldn't comfort her, couldn't hold her and it destroyed me.
And seeing her at my funeral
I still can't think about it without breaking down
I was met here by someone who is apparently my great grandfather and he explained everything to me
How this place works, what's allowed, what's not
I'm allowed to be around her as much as I want, watching over her but I can't interfere in anything
And I could only go to her in a dream once
Apparently whoever is in charge of this place knows that the people we leave behind may have some difficulty with our death
Yeah no shit
So we're allowed to go to them one time and it has to be in a dream
I had to go immediately
I had to tell her how much I love her, had to tell her that I didn't want to leave and I wish I could come back
Being able to hold her and kiss her one last time was bittersweet
I got to do those things but I wasn't able to anymore after that
Until she came here
She had a hard life without me
I could see it, how much she missed me
But I was there
I was there when Yoongi was born, I was there watching him grow up and Joanne caring for him
It made me feel so lucky to have her with the way she always told Yoongi who I was
She never let him forget me, she let him listen to my music, watch videos of BTS and Agust D
She had pictures of me everywhere so he'd know what I looked like
And he looks just like me
He has some of her in him too but mostly me
I'm happy she never resented him for looking like me
She loves him unconditionally and supported his music career
She used the money we made well, buying a good sized apartment in Daegu near my parents and used the rest for Yoongi
She really fostered his musical abilities from the day he showed interest in them- piano lessons, guitar lessons, anything to do with music
She asked Namjoon and Hobi to help him learn to rap, write lyrics, compose music and put songs together
And they gladly helped
She also got Jin, Jimin, Tae and Kookie to teach him how to sing
She put him in art schools where music was a major part of the day
She supported him one hundred percent and it made me happy that he had her
I remember what it was like when my parents didn't support me
I'm so proud of her
She raised our son to become the best person he could be and he is
I'm proud of him and all his accomplishments
I know I have the best girl in the world
She never stopped loving me
She never dated anyone else either
I heard what she said every time someone said she should try to move on or try to find someone else
"Yoongi is my one. I don't want anyone else but him. Ever."
She never took off her engagement or wedding ring
Not once
That means so much to me
I still have mine
I guess because I was wearing it when I died
But I haven't taken it off and I never will
Joanne also spoke to me all the time, telling me how much she missed me and how much she loves me
I'm so fucking lucky she loved me her whole life
And now I'm waiting for her
She's been sick and I know she's coming soon
She knows it too
I just don't know exactly when she's coming
But it's soon
--------------------------------
I wait for another few hours
I have nothing to do so I have time
Walking around, I enjoy the park
I picked this place because it's the park where I asked her to marry me
When I turn back towards the trees, I see her there
My heart is pounding in my chest
Her back is to me and all I want is to see her beautiful face
I stop a few feet away from her
"Jagi", I call, smiling
I see her body stiffen and she turns around slowly
My god she's gorgeous
I missed her so fucking much
"Yoongi?", she gasps
I nod
"Yeah jagi. It's me. I've been waiting for you"
She run to me, crashing into me and I pick her up holding me tightly so fucking happy and relieved to have her in my arms again
"I missed you so much baby.", she cry, tears running down her face
"I missed you jagi. So much", I tell her
"Is this real? Are you real? Or are you a dream?"
I know what she's feeling
It's like she's a dream and I'm scared I'm going to wake up
But I can feel her, she's real
She's really here with me
I shake my head
"I'm real Jo. I'm here. You're here"
She moves back looking in my eyes
And I stare at her gorgeous brown eyes
"Am I staying with you?"
Hell yes
I'm never letting her go
"Yes baby. This time you're staying with me"
She smiles so widely and I pull her back to me, my lips on hers in a kiss that I waited my whole afterlife for
Stars burst in my vision just like they used to anytime I kissed her and love explodes in my body
Fuck I missed her kisses
They always left me breathless
And I'm over the moon I get to have her kisses again
After the kiss, she looks back in my eyes
"I love you Yoongi. I love you so much", she tell me, kissing me again
The feel of her soft lips on mine makes me insanely happy
"I love you Joanne. More than anything", I whisper, my lips on hers in a second
She's here and I feel finally feel complete
She's here and she's not leaving, I'm not leaving
We're going to spend the rest of forever together
I can't wait

Red String Theory
Kim Seokjin x reader
Word count: 1.2k
Genre: established relationship, fluff
A/N: 'Sup! I thought I would take a quick break from Tae's series so I could write this fic for the man, the myth, the Moon that's coming home next month! She's kind of short, but I hope you enjoy!!
“Hey, Y/n/n,” Jin spoke, making me turn my head in his direction.
We were sitting on the couch together just watching the TV while taking a break from moving furniture. I raised my eyebrows and hummed to let him know to continue.
“I’ve got a question.”
I shifted toward him a little and put my legs across his.
“Shoot,” I said, looking at him with full focus on what he was going to ask.
He looked down at my hands before pointing to my wrists, “Your bracelets. What are their meanings?”
A confused smile appeared on my lips, “What? My bracelets?”
He nodded, “Mhmm! You wear them all the time and never take them off, so what’s their story?”
I chuckled at the question, but nodded all the same.
“Okay, um…” I lifted up my right arm and spread the bracelets one wasn’t overlapping another.
“So these are just hair ties,” I said, stretching the two black bands wrapped around my wrist then letting them snap back.
“This one,” I pointed to a string friendship bracelet with different colors of blue, green and grays, “was given to me by a friend in college during a club we went to together.”
Then I pointed to the last one, which was a small silver bracelet with tiny diamonds spaced throughout.
“And this one’s obviously the one you gave me for our first anniversary.”
He smiled, “And that’s obviously my favorite one out of all of them! What about those?”
Just like I did before, I moved the bracelets making sure that they don’t overlap.
“These are just more friendship bracelets from some of the club members,” I pointed to two braided strings that were made up of three different colors each that were tied around my wrist.
“And this one was made by my high school best friend,” I said, pulling apart the magnets then putting them back together.
I nodded at my finished explanation before Jim hooked a finger under the little red string around wrist.
“What about this one, hmm?”
I looked at him with a smile, “Have you heard of the ‘Red String Theory’?"
He shook his head at the question.
“So there was a TikTok that I had watched a while back and it was of this girl who was telling a story. So she was saying how she had seen something about the ‘red string theory’ and that it reminded her of something that had happened at her work. She worked at a store and this couple comes in and are trying things on and she’s smiling at their interaction because she thinks they’re cute.
“When they were ready, they went up to pay and then left the store. After they left, she saw something on the ground which happened to be a red bracelet-”
“No,” he gasped, fully immersed in the story.
I laughed, “Yes! She noticed that it was the same one the guy was wearing too. She thought that they would come back for it, so she put it in a drawer and forgot about it… until the next day,” I led on.
He simply nodded, urging me to go on.
“The girl that was with the guy the other day had come in asking if there was a red bracelet here. The cashier said yes and went to fish it out of the drawer, but while doing that she noticed the new ring on her finger and asked her about it. The girl had the biggest smile on her face and said that she couldn’t talk about it because it had just happened and would start crying, but thanked the cashier for the bracelet and the ‘congratulations’ she received before leaving the store.
“After that happened, she had searched up what the theory was and decided to wear one too. And she was wearing it for a few months, until she had started talking to a guy- I can’t remember if it was an old friend or someone new, but anyway- one day she was hanging out with her, now, boyfriend when she realized it fell off, making her wholeheartedly believe in the theory.”
“You didn’t explain what the theory was,” he said as I was just about to keep talking.
“I was just about to get to that,” I nudged him in feigned annoyance which made him chuckle.
“Sorry! Please continue,” he gestured.
I huffed.
“Anyway! It’s believed, in some cultures, that when people are fated to be soulmates there’s an invisible red string that ties them together. So if you wear a red bracelet and meet someone, then it’s supposed to fall off if they’re your soulmate,” I finished.
“Couldn’t that all chalk up to coincidence though,” Jin questioned, eyebrows furrowed.
I shrugged, “Maybe so, but I’m a hopeless romantic so things like this or fate were always things that I loved which is why I started wearing one.”
“So then this,” he pulled at the red string bracelet, “Has never fallen off?”
I looked down at the string and let out a chuckle before raising my head to look at Jin again.
“Actually, this is a different bracelet. The first one I started wearing after I watched the video fell off when we met.”
“WHAT?!” I nodded, biting back a smile, “Mhm, it was after that fateful day you spilled coffee on my jacket, invited me to eat to make up for it, then we spent the whole day walking around and talking.”
I happily sighed at the memory, “I got home and realized that my bracelet wasn’t on my wrist anymore, but I didn’t really think anything of it because I had been wearing it for a long time until you texted me later that night to ask if we could go on a proper date… And now, here we are,” I gestured around our apartment.
He nodded, “Ah… so you wear that like a keepsake?”
I snapped my fingers and pointed at him, “Exactly! It reminds me of you and that day so I tend to look at it whenever I’m feeling down!”
He hummed before he looked at his own wrist, “Maybe I should wear one, too, so we could match.”
I chuckled, “Sure, come with me.”
I got up and took Jin’s hand, pulling him along to the kitchen where some of the moving boxes were. I dug through a few as Jin took a seat on a stool, then I found my embroidery string and took out the red one along with a pair of scissors.
Walking over to where he was sitting and taking a seat too, I had him hold out his wrist while I unwound the string, wrapped it around and tied it before cutting off the excess material.
“Tada,” I cheered, placing the items in my hands on the table.
“Hey Y/n,” Jin started and I turned to look at him, humming in question.
He grabbed both of my hands, “I’m really happy that we share this string.”
He kissed the top of my head as we sat in a peaceful silence and looked around at the piles of unopened boxes and half moved furniture in our new apartment.
Knowing what he meant by that statement, I rested my head on his shoulder and happily sighed.
“Me too, Jin.”

Needed a moment to collect.
I hear the winds of the wasteland blowing through my head because it will feel so barren without them. It's not as if we see them in real time everyday...but... I already miss them.
It's the same feeling I had after the June 2022 Festa dinner. I was so bereft it was mind-blowing. They tried their best to convey what their plan was and to reassure us and they asked us to listen to them and trust them.
Many struggled with that request.
It was slow realizing it wasn't the end and then everything accelerated and these past few weeks/months have been a doozy. Look at what this past year and a half brought us. More Bangtan joy than I thought was possible!
Now, for me, its just knowing they won't be going about their regular crazy days staying up until dawn, or flying out in the morning just to sleep for the next 10 hours on a plane and land at who knows what time where ever, and hit the ground running. Or going out with their friends to a meat restaurant to just eat, drink and chill. Or working on music or choreo or planning whatever. Or visiting art galleries or museums and stopping for coffee on a beautiful day.
They certainly didn't update us everyday about those things but they did just enough for us to know that's what their lives entail and let us fill in the rest. All that's on pause now.
It is hard to comprehend that Jungkook just wrapped up a very successful solo release just to put it all aside and step away.
His heartfelt letter was precious. I expect something similar from Jimin.
They knew they were going to do it. We knew to expect it. Still...
This is something they are required to do, they are going to do and they are prepared to do it.
Let them do it in peace, grace and dignity.
They prepared some things for us. Be grateful.
Though it's tough knowing the time has come, I also know that they are not going to let those wasteland winds linger in my head very long. They are already dissipating because we have stuff coming down the pipe:
We heard last year that the Disney+ documentary was going to be a series and here it's coming soon. It will take us through to January.
And now the excitement is through the roof upon learning Jimin and Jungkook are about to head to Japan.
The MAMA Awards are being held at the Tokyo Dome, Tuesday, Nov. 28. They are leaving today/tomorrow. Plenty of time to relax, have a little down time and vacation, shoot some content, and then accept their awards Tuesday night.
We already know a "travel with Jimin and Jungkook" is coming soon. Should we anticipate a revisit to GCF Tokyo, or maybe something else similar? I love those two so much, they're always on my mind. They've been so sneaky and careful only because they know this is something special for us. Maybe it will come to us following the Disney series. We don't know what content they've got in the can, ready to follow.
Then we will have a few more months before Jin returns next summer.
Jimin and Jungkook. In recent months, I've gotten really good at filtering out the noise. I've sat here with calm understanding about Jimin and Jungkook, seeing them STILL the same with each other in every bit of new content they've shared. I only need my own two eyes and ears to detect that strong bond. They have the thing that is precious between two people. Grand gestures are not necessary and not their style.
They love their fans... that would be us: ARMY... they love us. They want to give us what we want. They live for that. So Jimin brought back his blonde hair, showed us his moons running down his back. And Jungkook stepped out of the shower naked. They KNOW what we want and want to give it to us as best they can! They know we love them and want to show off their chemistry.
Not gonna lie, this past year flew by for me. It was month after month of anticipation. And now here we are at the end of the year.
All the arguing and fighting and ugliness that some engage in is just noise. Our mens are gonna be the good and honest beings they are no matter what anyone says. Listen to them.
We expect them all back mid-year 2025. We expect a wonderful new most beautiful moment in life. We expect the best is yet to come. We expect something amazing and we won't be disappointed. Trust them.
Their plan is already in motion and has been. We wait™️.

oh please i beg Seokjin as a Brat Tamer he gifts MC his glitter choker ykik
. • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆. night short #29
todays thought is our favorite, brat tamer jin and his pretty baby!!
as much as he would never admit it, your bratty tendencies do stem from him spoiling you all the time.
but he wouldn’t be able to help it, not when you’re the prettiest little thing he’s ever seen, his entire world. he would gift you the moon and the stars if it were possible
though your absolute favorite gift would always be the glittery choker he’d given you months into your relationship
he’d make you wear it as he lays you over his thighs, panties pulled down over your ass as he makes you count every drawn-out slap to your asscheeks.
twinge of satisfaction blossoming in his chest as he watches your tender skin prickles red with that delicious twinge of pain
pitiful coo spilling past his lips as warm wet tears slip down your cheeks, unsure if you wanted more, wanted him to stop, or if you wanted his hand to slip that little bit lower and slap your slicked up pussy until your clit was swollen and folds soaked shiny
he loved that even on the days he simply put the collar on you for fun, nothing inherently sexual about it, simply loving the indirect idea of having that visual claim on you— your pussy would always slick up, reminded of the raw sort of pleasure only he was able to bring you
making you get yourself off on his thigh, or the days he was feeling a little meaner, on his foot as you beg him to let you cum, always a good girl when you wanted something only he can give you
night thought masterlist
