he would LOVEEEEEEE pre k and kindergarten!!! idk if he would actually get to go to pre k since yknow. 60s. but he would be so excited like wdym he gets to go to school with all of his friends and they get to do crafts and get read stories! highlight of his school year.

thennnnnnnnn it all starts to go downhill. 1st grade. when they are all expected to really start reading and writing and they keep telling him to write with his right hand and his handwriting is too messy even with his left hand and all the letters just feel wrong and no one gets it. he would keep getting in trouble for just refusing to do his work and “acting out” and he would always be taking off his shoes cause they just feel too weird and he doesn’t get how everyone else can adjust so easily!!! although whenever he gets in trouble or has a meltdown he gets sent to darry’s classroom since he is in 5th grade (@damthosefandoms my absolute angel has an entire timeline for what grades all the greasers would be and it is my saving grace) and he loves that. just ough he is not doing well

2nd grade is even worse!! darry is in middle school so he doesn’t have him anymore and now they are doing even more reading and writing and math and he just doesn’t get it. he thinks it’s so unfair that his brother was able to do well and since he is darry’s brother they are so confused on why he isn’t doing as well as darry. he can’t focus on any of it and he just has so so much energy and so all the teachers label him as a trouble maker (read undiagnosed adhd) soda legir SOBS in the morning begging not to have to go. his teacher is mean and he doesn’t like his classmates and he feels so alone. mrs curtis’ heart breaks every time she has to get soda to the bus cause he just looks so sad

the rest of elementary goes about the same and suddenly he has homework and mr curtis tries to help him every evening but soda is just crying and can’t focus and just wants to go to bed and not worry about school anymore. he asks his parents if he can drop out but bro is legit like 10 he cannot drop out lmao. pony does so well in school too like darry and soda doesn’t get what he is doing wrong. why is he the dumb brother

middle school he just fully commits to being the class clown. if you can’t be smart then you gotta be funny in order to distract from the fact you flunk every single test and all of these new subjects are so stressful that you can’t even think half the time. he is counting down the days til school ends. he doesn’t cry before school anymore but he is so nauseous every morning and can’t even eat breakfast cause he knows it’ll just be another day of teachers look at him disappointedly and he has to act like he doesn’t care!!!! he doesn’t even do the work half the time anymore what’s the point. they force pass him.

high school is more of the same, he really starts giving up at that point. he can feel his parents worry and disappointment radiating off of them, and every time he sees darry and pony get honor roll he secretly breaks a bit more inside. why can’t he be like that. so he keeps making people laugh, starts skipping when class gets too hard, and plans to drop out. another drop out in a long line of greasers who did the same. he can’t face telling his parents the fact he is going to drop out so he keeps going. after their death he finally does it, it’s not like they are around to hold him after he fails another test or wipe his tears away after a hard day anymore. so he drops out

but he does Not tell darry. he keeps going and just sneaks back home after he goes to work. he can’t admit it to him yet but ofc he finds out. darry doesn’t even know what to say, but he has to let soda make his own choices. but he won’t let pony end up the same so he constantly makes sure pony does his homework

I had some time to let my thoughts marinate and watched the episode again, and I would say we're off to a good start! Some things I liked or noticed:

What it is with Lila's notebooks in the opening scene. Is she writing a novel. Is all of this just a ploy to get clout on ao3

Love love LOVE Marinette's room and all the little details - her room has always been so cool, but I feel like it's elevated by the redesign. She has a Molly Ringwald-Teen Movie Bedroom-Windowsill now ❤

RE: The intro - I DO like that they kept the song! Would've been very jarring to have a new tune, but I feel like keeping the music wraps it up really nicely. Love the Adrinette cuteness and OUGH OUGH OUGH the shot with Gabriel in the background. Sinister, I love it. I won't lie, I WILL miss the shot that's now the LadyNoir fist bump and Adrinette kiss when it used to be Chat Noir going in for a kiss and then the two of them tumbling over each other, mostly because it used to be the essence of the Lovesquare and thus the show. I totally get though why they had to change it up -different premise with Adrinette in a relationship and all- and the way the still kept the switcheroo was nicely done.

on, and they kept the black cat in the intro. points for that.

Marinette being a disaster is so, so comforting to me. Yes, give us the statistics about Hawkmoth, order shrimp macarons, hide your face in your tiny purse girl, I love you!!!! And her cat ear slippers <3

I need a moment to gush about the new animation, because, DAMN. It's both the small details (the pattern and texture of Alya's glasses) and and the scenery (Paris actually looking like a populated city with a beautiful variety of both people and unique buildings????). Idk it's just really, really nice. The character models are mostly an upgrade and look a tad older while still keeping the original vibe. The expressions are also better, especially for the supporting cast. The lighting is gorgeous! AND THE AKUMATIZATIONS!!!! HELLO!!! THEY LOOK SO COOL

Adrien is a sad exception to my praise but I think the less we talk about it the faster we will all collectively get used to it lol

I also think the direction and camera work has gotten a lot better - the fighting scenes looked cool and we got interesting camera angles.

The integration of 2D animation is neat! The chibis are very cute and serve a purpose. I do hope they keep adding 2D elements and not just as illustrations as they used to do in former seasons. I mean, this is such a fun shot:

Storywise it was a decent episode! not much to say here tbh, I liked the DJ Wifi sideplot (and THEM overall, bestest couple).

Loooooved the trash collecting scene, reminded me of Gang of Secrets Ladynoir after their break-ups. I need them to talk/gossip to each other about their relationship(s) in every episode hehe. I do miss flirty Ladynoir but seeing them again is auauauuaghhh. Adrien seeing Ladybug out and about and he's smiling!!!!!!!!!! I love Ladynoir so much

We didn't get much about Adrien's situation from this (apart from the fact that he's allowed to leave the house lol) but the sadness in his eyes…. and him taking the blame for Adrinette's communication issues…. my sweet, sweet boy 🙁

Referring back to this post - yeah, that's Lila/Cerise/Iris in the café, drinking a diabolo menthe (Diabolo -> diabolos in Greek: slanderous, libellous -> Girliepop is ready to stir up things). She's gonna be wherever Marinette goes, causing trouble, I assume.

things I'm curious about:

the timeline: is it still summer vacation? I would assume so, since Marinette and Alya have yet another sleepover and they're meeting the boys in the morning (?). School probably hasn't started yet this season.

Kagami and Marinette: Their (very, very brief) interaction seemed normal. I expected Kagami to be conflicted due to their conversation in the London Special, tbh, but then again, it was a very brief interaction. We'll see.

Carapace using shelter twice in one battle: Did all heroes "grow up"? Did it happen on-screen in episode 1 or should we just assume they all have unlimited powers?

the Kwagatama: I mean, we don't need to talk about the obvious implication (memory loss, Tales-of-LB-and-CN-theory), but I'm kinda wondering about other possible scenarios this may lead to.

And oh. The saved cat got an animation upgrade. Can’t wait to see Baby August in the new animation style lol

saki tenma. ough i habe so many words about her.

she is so strong. she lost her entire childhood to the hospital, she lost her friends, sometimes she’d wish she would never wake up in the morning. only ichika came to visit, and even then that was rare. yet

she still went into highschool with a determination and a spring in her step. despite shiho and honami never visiting she had no ill will towards them going back into school qnd i think thats an interesting aspect about her. she knew the hospital was far away from where they lived sure but i would not doubt that at least once she thought “ichika is here, why cant they be too?” yet going back into school instead of just leaving them because they chose to split from ichika and herself she was determined to bring them back together and i think thats so lovely of her.

i can sympathise with her a bit too. no, i wasnt hospitalized my entire childhood, but sometimes i wish i had it back. sometimes i feel like it was robbed from me at the hands of those two. but this isnt about me, i just understand how saki feels. you wish and wish that you could have it back, to change the course of fate, but theres no way. what i admire about her is that instead of sulking about it she takes advantage of it. she has her 100 things i want to do list, shes jumping at every chance she gets and i thihk thats also great of her.

i alsp like how she doesnt let her sickness define her. someyimes the conversation will turn into her hospital days or how shes feeling but shes quick to change the topic becaude thats not all she is and i thihi the fandom shpuld realise that too. i saw this one post and i think about it a lot. “i cant relate to saki i havent been hospitalized that much” while yes its a big part of her character she is so much more than that. you can relate to her determination, her bubbliness, her kindess, her strength. you can relate to her childhood being robbed from her, you can relate to the situation with her friends, and you can also relate to her determination to keep going.

saki is such an interesting character to me and i think she’s overlooked a lot. there just something about her; constantly shes so bubbly and happy and bouncy that you have to wonder if theres something under that mask, that maybe those bright sparkling eyes really do hold an abyss of memories. it also makes you wonder that maybe that abyss isnt completly endless, maybe there’s something at the bottom. maybe theres something at the bottom of your abyss, too.

Ough! Okay yes! So the other day I was thinking about a very cute friends to lovers au for JacePorter where it’s like if Rhett and Link from GMM were like actually romantically together but not until much later in their careers. So here we go 💖

Jace and Porter have been inseparable since the 1st grade. The way Jace tells it, little Ambrose Bellgate kept making fun of his ears so new kid Porter threw a pencil at the little brat and told him to leave Jace alone.

Porter remembers it differently, that Jace DEFINITELY joined in on the pencils throwing because he was a menace of a 7 year old. It ended with a crying Ambrose and both Jace and Porter stuck inside during recess. They make the most of it though by reading a comic Porter snagged from his brother’s collection and sharing the fruit snacks Jace’s mom packed for him that morning. 

They still bicker about the details of that story even though they have countless more from middle school, high school, college, and even more documented throughout their shared YouTube career. 

Even after all these years they still do everything together, so much so that fans speculate about how they could still be that close after 30 years. If it’s been that long they must be in love right? 

Much to Jace’s dismay they aren’t. 

He has, however, been hopelessly and embarrassingly in love with his best friend since high school. He thought things would change when he started dating his first boyfriend but he squarely fucked that up when he moaned Porter’s name during his first time. He’d hoped his feelings would die down when Porter started seeing his first girlfriend. But then there was another and another and Jace just found himself jealous of every single girlfriend and still in love with his completely oblivious best friend. 

He didn’t think anything between them could be a possibility until he watched Porter sneak off with a guy in a club bathroom during college. He pointedly doesn’t ask, but it does give him a tiny ounce of hope.

Present day, Jace is unhappily married, Porter is contently divorced and maybe one night in their shared office Jace is still buzzing from the office party they threw to celebrate a wrap on season 20 of their morning show. Porter stumbles through the door drunk and giddy and plops down next to Jace on their couch. 

Somehow in the haze of alcohol and fuzzy feelings Jace found his way into Porter’s lap and Porter can’t get enough of the sounds Jace is making. And Gods, somewhere in his stupor he’s back in college listening to Jace getting railed in the next room over while he jerks off wishing it were him in that room instead of whatever douchey asshole boyfriend Jace had at the time. 

But then Jace is kissing down his neck and fuck the past, he wants to live in the now, where Jace is grinding down hard on him and he has a slight pink tint to his cheeks from the alcohol and all he can think of is how gorgeous he looks right now. How good Jace’s lips feel against his how- How Jace is married… and this probably isn’t okay. Porter doesn’t like Jace’s stupid idiot husband Ambrose (yes, that Ambrose. Typical Jace to marry his bully much to Porter’s fucking dismay.) 

But he’s not about to fuck up Jace’s relationship over one drunken make out. So he pulls away. And he doesn’t miss the small pout that crosses Jace’s lips before he’s climbing off of him and saying he’s sorry. And Porter looks at him, like really looks at him and takes his hand.

“You don’t have to be, I liked it.” And that’s all Porter needs to say before Jace is mentally signing the divorce papers. Because fuck Ambrose. He still makes fun of his ears and they’ve had more arguments than Jace could count about how he gets to fuck off to his “little fantasyland” (Fuck you, Ambrose 🙄🔪) with Porter, while he works a shitty 9-5 he hates. It’s not Jace’s fault, he told him he makes more than enough to provide for the both of them, but of COURSE Ambrose took issue with that too like he does with-

“Hey, hey calm down, look at me. Breathe.” Porter can tell he’s thinking, running through every little scenario in his head because Jace is prone to worrying. It’s why they work so well together. Jace worries and Porter reminds him everything will be okay. Always. Just like he is now. Once Jace heart has slowed to an acceptable pace, Porter holds Jace’s hands in his and asks, “Are you sure, Stardiamond.” 

Jace nods and for the first time in years, he truly has everything he’s ever wanted.

[05:40] - wake up through the mist of "ugh five more minutes", throw a middle finger to the alarm clock and start the process of becoming a conscious member of the society by running into the closet doors face first and dressing up, getting that "hair" contained...

[06:00] - make either breakfast or lunch. if breakfast is done, get some stretching exercises in before eating. if lunch is done, just get the exercises done. pack some cash, documents like an ID since ID drones aren't a thing yet, tools for today's planned workload, don't forget the annoying golden mask

[~06:45 - 07:00] - enter the restaurant/fast food place ya visit every day and get either breakfast or lunch for later, ignore the barista who somehow managed to develop a crush on ya, eat up if it's breakfast order, maybe take a walk around the town square

[08:00] - clock in for work at the Mechanic's main entrance into the Caper of Euros structure. make the way to the puppet chamber to check Euros' statistics, see if smth fucked up during the night that would need the help with getting fixed up and of course, tell him good morning. if he's on his puppet and scoops ya up, kiss him a good morning too

[08:15] - leave the chamber and the backpack with lunch behind (he'll look after it, probably strap it to the umbilical arm, maybe go through it - he's allowed to. one of these days she really needs to pack a little notebook, pencil and an eraser so he can have some fun with that) and start the shift. Mechanic's job mainly revolves around catching the mistakes that slipped by before an Iterator was turned on besides the maintance. so basically bringing them as close to perfection as possible. so she looks for lil fuck ups in the design + works on the ones already noted on the pearl she has from Euros' first Mechanic

[14:00 - 14:20] - lunch break!!! come back to the puppet chamber and sit with Euros while snacking. get to talk with him a little, catch up on what he's up to in his research and iterations, answer him in kind when he asks you about your day outside of him. "so how'd you sleep? any dreams? how was breakfast? is the barista still eyeing you? i still think you should go on a date with them and be absolutely obnoxiously out of character so they'd stop. oh! what about the town square? what did the kids play today?" "oh slow down, will you! i still have noodles left."

[14:20 - 20:45] - rest of the shift! the last hour or so is dedicated to mostly going around the sector she dedicated the day to and checking over her work and the Hivemind members. with the nature of her and Euros' relationship this often times results with the Inspectors yoinking her to play or cuddle with

[20:45 - 27:00] - free time! she Can be hailed by the Houses for updates on Euros' condition and to get her opinion on some changes they'd want to implement that would affect Euros during this time. she Hates these kind of meetings because she sucks at social interaction n everything, but if she has to defend her charge(/lover) against stupid ass ideas, she Will do her best. but generally this time is filled with hanging out with Euros properly as a friend or as a romantic partner, go out for beer or smth if she feels like it, calling her family to ask how they are doing once she gets home- ask if they need any money and such since the job pays INCREDIBLY well- strength and such exercises to keep in shape, read up on some additional info on Iterators that wasn't necessarily addressed back in school or some fictional stuff, play games (with Euros if he will be down or calls first), make dinner, watch a movie...

unfortunately i HAVEEEEE to yap about my modern qpr pbj college au cause im thinking about it all the time and have to share

first of all it includes wheelchair user johnny my beloved 🫶 but basically the gang is all the same but johnny wasn’t ever part of it, im not sure where he lived but not in tulsa (i have a whole backstory about him and his parents in this au don’t play, i WILL drop it) he also got emancipated from his parents at 16/17 and was able to get an okay enough job to afford

pony gets assigned as johnnys roommate and they meet on move in day, soda and darry meet him then too. and they all IMMEDIATELY get attached to this poor kid, dawg for sure looks worse for wear he is smalllll and owns like 4 shirts. also doesn’t have many possessions!! so ofc they all love him so bad and soda and darry pretty much force him to get dinner with them and pay for it (they are broke but damn it they will be making sure this kid eats something)

pony doesn’t know anyone at school so he is like okay i need johnny to be my best friend and they just click instantly, attached at the hip! them slowly trusting each other more tho cause even if they click they both have built up Walls and finally feeling safe around each other, telling each other about their parents. pushing their beds together cause pony has nightmares and being closer to someone helps him. them having the biggest fattest most pathetically down bad queer platonic crushes on each other but not knowing exactly what they are feeling and just ough

pony finding out johnny doesn’t have any thanksgiving plans and forcing him to come back to tulsa with him and meet the gang :( johnny just fitting right in and watching from the corner just soaking up all the excitement from the people around him and being so shocked and happy when they include him in on things! he also clicks so well with two bit who clocks his ass so bad so quick within like 10 minutes (soda clocks pony within this time period as well) and corners him! johnny is lowkey scared shitless but two-bit is just excited for him and tells him it’ll turn out fine etc etc (and also makes a bet with steve that they’ll be together before christmas) also they go to stores and steal together i fear it’s so important to me

after thanksgiving pbj getting even closer, spending so much of their free time together!!! but all good things must crash down at some point (at least for a little bit)

pony catching johnny on his computer snooping and copying his work onto his own page…. pony just loses it he’s already been so stressed this week and he’d scared of failing and he just doesn’t get why johnny would be doing this and he trusts johnny so bad so what if he is just using him!! meanwhile johnny is freaking the FUCK out cause his learning disability ass has been struggling and he can barely even read (audio books and voice to text is this man’s best friend!!) and he just couldn’t handle going through all these hoops this time so he tried this but he messed up so he just panics as pony is yelling and blurts out that he can’t read real well and BOLTS

pony after that really be standing there like 🧍‍♂️panicking and calling his brothers cause he doesn’t know what the fuck just happened or how to process it!! meanwhile johnny is outside FREEZING cause it’s right before winter break and doesn’t know where to go for the night and plans to drop out in the morning cause he doesn’t know what the fuck he was thinking trying to go to school and his phone is at 1% so he uses the last bit of his battery to send the gc with all the gang a text with “thank you so much for all your kindness, i ain’t ever gonna forget all y’all did for me” before his phone dies and he can’t get another charger

so now EVERYONES freaking out and as soon as morning hits the gang all drive up to the college and pony with their help HUNTS through campus!! ofc johnny sees them from afar a few times and BOLTS away cause he doesn’t wanna get caught since he thinks they all hate him (he has thousands of missed messages and calls since the night before) til they finally corner his ass and finally get him to properly communicate

pony teaching johnny how to write and read slightly better and he gets a job at the thrift store :( he goes home with the curtis’s for christmas and new years and spring and summer break!!!

anyway this isn’t even like half the lore man and i hope you all love my insane little au that’s far too important to me!!!

I. Just finished responding to this ask but tumblr GOBBLED IT UP. So. It’s gone. Uhh here’s a shorter version of what I wrote plus a few drawings I made cause I got angry abt the missing post

Here’s the general ep.1&2 notes lol

-izuku wakes up from a nightmare that he quickly shakes off and heads off to school. His mom is already gone for work but there’s lunch and breakfast ready for him at the table. He briefly remarks how much better it is that his mom had let him to take the train to school instead of driving him there every morning despite the inconvenience to her work schedule.

-it’s the school day at aldera middle school where the teacher asks what they want to do when they grow up or whatever. Bakugou says something about it being difficult to save anyone when Izukus too busy fainting on them. bakugou provokes him at the end of class he can’t help but barking something back and he very much gets a punch to the face about it.

-izuku is irritated and he’s scratching at his neck letting his frustration out on a rock under a bridge. He kicks it but instead of hitting the concrete, it splats into some goo. He’s then attacked by said goo and almost drowns. Amidst his drowning he can feel that rolling sensation that happens every time he falls asleep. He can feel his stomach drop and quick images of an unfamiliar ceiling deposit themselves into his mind and he’s definitely about to pass out when suddenly he’s saved by All Might

-when saving bakugou from goo man he runs to his aid and throws his backpack which misses. Izuku finds his hand curling around the pencil he has stuck behind his ear and throws it with pin point accuracy into goo man’s eye ball

-same as canon yadayada yelled at by heroes all might offers to train him and whatever

-cue training montage but instead of overworking himself he begins to slip into diet and workout habits better tailored to himself that’s not detailed in all might’s regimen.

-he gets to eat the hair a little earlier than canon.

-dreams get vivid and more disorienting

-at the entrance exam after he passes out from smashing the zero pointer he imma wakes up in his bed.

-except it’s. Not izuku’s bed. But it is certainly his bed. He falls out of bed.

-he barely has time to comprehend anything before his door slams open and his brother crows about how lovely it is of him to join them in the land of the living and shoves a video game controller in his hands

-izuku is slightly bewildered but can feel his memories playing backwards feeding him information on every question that pops into his head until the fog clears from his mind and he remembers.

-he’s at home. Next to him is his brother Tomura. He just woke up from what was definitively not a dream. And he fuckin rips at super smash bros.

… ough. I thought I could get the whole story down in this format but it’s getting. Long. I’ll post more probably if this was helpful (?)

[most of the changes to sleep swap were refining flavors to izuku’s personality and the specificities to the activation and dynamic of his quirk… I’ll explain more if anyone wants.. Later when it’s not 2:45 in the morning.]

what’s snow like for you?

ough kind of a tricky question cos i've been in snow before but not for a while, like at least a few years - for it to snow where i actually live is more like just. sleet. it might snow a little but it will have just been rain before so there's no fluffy piles anywhere - the last time it Properly Snowed i was six or seven. we got a day off school & built a little snowman in the front yard. we had snow clothes my grandma had sent but they were too small for us.

it snows in the mountains all the time but i'm not a skiier so i generally only see it from very far away. sometimes when we were driving over it would be through snow & i'd look for icicles hanging off things. there was a lake that froze over a couple times & we'd see people ice skating on it which we always wanted to try but we don't have skates & it stopped freezing (at least when we saw it)

not snow but one time we were driving through the mountains i think fairly early in the morning, and we turned a corner and there was this big frosty field steaming in the sun. visible rays of sunlight. everything tinted yellow.
