Mackenzie pried herself from the couch, wrapped in her fluffy black bathrobe, opening the door for James. "Hi," she croaked, voice akin to a decades-long chainsmoker on their fifth pack of the day. "Thank you."

The oracle sniffled and rubbed her eyes, going to sit back down on the couch.

I love idea that if sampostelle would be a thing, they wouldn't even try to hide the fact that they're special to each other. They're just both too weird for those not familiar with them to properly interpret these signals.

Stelle would say that looking at Sampo makes her feel like looking at trash cans (which makes no sense other than in a negative way until you see her love and excitement for trash). She'd agree to deals with Sampo even if it's like the most obvious scam in the universe, because that idiot would rather eat his shoes than ask for help properly. And she never misses an opportunity to point out that he is "not that bad" when the conversation turns to his fraudulent "exploits."

Sampo never took part in fight club bets because it was too unreliable moneymaking scheme - and he always made a point of it - so he'd rather make money by bringing in new fighters. But when Stelle is in the ring for some reason, he invariably bets a large amount on her winning (and accepts truly HUGE bets from others on her losing, which never happens, so double profit). He jokingly justifies himself by saying that there is no one stronger than the Trailblazer on this planet, and he can trust her skills with his money

dude, you could make the same successful bets on robots long before she appeared, come up with a better excuse

And if something comes up in one of his daily deals that could really hurt Trailblazer, then the price for his services completely by accident soars to the stratosphere (because openly refusing even unwanted clients is bad for business)
