I’ve been working on character sheets for my OCs for this years ART FIGHT! I’ve never participated in art fight before so I kind of have no idea what I’m doing, but here is the first completed character sheet of my half-elf paladin, Ilyäa :) I’m hoping to make 1-2 more sheets before art fight begins in July!

Both of the big Tangled villain arcs delight me because:

On the one hand you have Varian, who starts insisting "I'm the Bad Guy now because you FORCED me into it" immediately and tries so so hard to achieve a proper Villain Aesthetic but is very obviously still a dorky child, to the extent that he ends by drawing a goatee on his chin with marker,

And on the other you have Cassandra, who is still effortlessly cool throughout her Villain Period but is also flailing really really hard about her own goals and motivations, to the extent that it literally takes most of a season for this girl in Spiky Black Armor with her Black Magic Sword to look from her own wanted poster to her Looming Spiky Black Castle-Tower and slowly say "Am I...a bad guy?"

And what this TELLS us about both these characters in their own individual ways is that they're not completely lost, because one of them is trying so hard to fit an adolescent image of "evil" that it's just a flimsy mask at this point, and the other wants so little to be evil that the only way she's gotten this far is by desperate blindness to her own changes in image. Neither of them is actually really reconciled to what they're doing.

Also it shows that they are both very dumb but in, like, opposite ways. I like that too.

I got my physical copy of Nightwing Year One recently and have realized just how integral that version of things is to the way I write these two dipshits, so here's some Discowing and baby Robin!Jay in a fairly direct tag to that story, featuring Dick being a troll, as is one's prerogative as an elder sibling.

“Oh, one more thing, very important,” he said with all the seriousness he could muster. The tone was enough to get Jason to turn and look up at him. Dick held his gaze for a couple of seconds before grinning hugely and reaching out to push at the corners of Jason’s mouth with his fingers, forcing them upward.

“Have fun!” he said brightly. He obviously got immediately slapped away, and punched in the sternum for good measure, which did not at all prevent him from cracking up at the outraged look on Jason’s face. Frankly, Dick was genuinely a little surprised he didn’t get bit.(Maybe if he wasn’t wearing gloves that had been touching god only knew what on Gotham streets all night. Still would’ve been worth it.)

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Jason snapped, swiping at his cheeks.

“Language, little wing,” Dick chided, the reproach only slightly undermined by how he was still laughing.

“Wha- I’ve heard you say worse!”

“You can’t prove a fucking thing.”

Last year I sort of befriended a male carpenter bee. For context, I sit on my back steps a lot. He got really comfortable with me and would sometimes sit next to me. He liked to hover in front of my face and bumped into a few times. And generally when he saw me he’d circle my head. He also took to attacking any wasps that got close to me, so that was a bonus. I named him Kevin and despite carpenter bees having a relatively long lifespan, I was afraid I wouldn’t see him again

I’m pleased to announce that Kevin made it through the winter!
