My kitten found a really fat mantis in our garden the mantis my kitten found was not like any mantis it has orange eyes and is larger than most mantis i found in my garden my kitten had fun playing the mantis for some reason my cat loves touching its belly but i dont think the fat mantis likes my cat or me fat shaming it I did some research and it was a traitor lord and It is one of the species of mantises I found it funny that the traitor lord tried to fight my cat but ended up getting played like it was a ball of yarn

A male Lord’s mantis? (That’s another one of their common names.) They usually have black eyes, so it’s more than likely that one had the Infection. This disease that plagues arthropod-kind is not known to affect mammals, humans, or monsters, even arthropod monsters, but having a vet check out your kitten would be a good idea, just in case.

Fun fact: Unlike almost all other mantis species, male Lord’s mantises are larger than the females. However, the females are still more powerful and dangerous, and are very fast; the males are pretty slow-moving compared to them. Female Lord’s mantises do not eat the males after mating; contrary to popular belief, only a few mantis species actually do this. (They definitely have the potential to, though. A female Lord’s mantis can easily overpower a male with her speed and prowess despite her smaller size.)

Tumblr finally gives us the option to poll each other and the first immediate thing we did was have a poll that was just racing a snail, a caterpillar, and a worm.

And it was so magnificent that both bug and bug race are trending.

Bug Fact: Caterpillars have 12 eyes! Kinda. They have simple eyes called, stemmata, all along their body. Vision is very blurry.

Holy shit. A Stagway beetle? Did you actually find one of these?

You may not know it, but this is one of the rarest insects there is. It’s estimated there are only about 20 left in the wild, if any. They’re so terrifyingly close to extinction I could actually cry.

All hope is not lost, though—the good news is that a captive breeding program called the Stag Nest Project is working hard to raise their numbers and hopefully reestablish a substantial wild population. Team Cherry (a hollow knight rescue I’ve mentioned before) donates a lot of money to them. The Stag Nest Project recently posted a photo of one of their fabulous Stagway studs! Look at this glamorous guy!

They’re planning to breed him with one of their females soon and hopefully produce some nice and healthy eggs. I’m cheering for them!

Obviously, anything that endangered is not a pet. No animal that low in numbers could possibly be domesticated—maybe tamed, but domesticating them will require breeding a lot of new individuals.

If you have one of these beetles captured or happen to see one, call or email the Stag Nest Project or better yet, go to their location and give them the beetle, if you have it captured. It’ll be safe there and with any luck it will be able to pass down its genes and increase the population. They already have a decent number of both females and males, but the more genetic diversity the better.

I'd love to do that someday!

I'd need to get a proper handle on care and transport before I feel comfortable shipping them. These are the only amphipods I've ever kept, but they seem slightly more sensitive to new water than the Gammerus species that're popular in the aquarium hobby. I'm thinking about doing some test shipping (packaging them up as if you were going to ship them and leaving the box in a garage or shed for a few days) to see what they can handle.

If you're into amphipods feel free to get in touch. I really like them but there's not much of a community.

How do you think Sans reacts to Papyrus’s death during the runs?

If you mean in the base game, uh... we kinda already know? If Papyrus is killed, Sans doesn't show up again until the final corridor, where he'll ask "if you have some sort of special power, isn't it your responsibility to do the right thing?"

If you answer yes (that you do have that responsibility), then he responds, without eyelights or sound font, "Then why'd you kill my brother?"

And if you answer no (you aren't responsible), you get "well, that's your viewpoint. i won't judge you for it.... You dirty brother killer."

There's also the line of description you get if you go on to have a concert with Shyren after killing Papyrus: "A hooded figure watches the commotion from afar." It replaces the line that mentions Sans selling toilet paper tickets to your concert, and of course, of all the characters with hoods in the game, he's the one who would be most concerned with tracking your actions after killing Papyrus. So, it makes the most sense to infer that this hooded figure is Sans.

So his reactions, to me at least, suggest that not only is he heartbroken, he's furious with you. But Sans isn't one for direct confrontations and shouting like Undyne is, so he watches, and I think he still tries to understand why you'd do something so horrible. But that doesn't stop him from being angry because there's no excuse for killing his brother, but sparing other monsters, that he can fathom.

I'm personally not a fan of depictions of Sans sobbing over Papyrus' dusty scarf--he just doesn't strike me as a guy whose first reaction is to cry. For my understanding of him, it makes more sense for him to go numb, initially, then save his anger for his parting shot in the last corridor. No matter what you answer, Sans gets the last word in, and it's always to remind you that you did not have to kill his brother.

So uh, yeah. that's what I think.
