pssst -- you wanna see the silly little 20 cm doll collection I’ve built over a number of years?

okay so if you’re new here, I’m Rae, I have the stuffed animal/plush doll autism, but I can also recommend a bunch of plush artists to work with on etsy/places to look for 20 cm dolls if that’s something you’re also into

these are not all the silly little outfits I’ve collected, just some bare essentials stuff bc I’m visiting my parents’ place for the food holiday. but since I’m hanging out with time to kill!!

(apologies ahead of time for the weird variations in my lighting, I just have my phone and the lights in my childhood bedroom today lmao)

my first ever 20 cm plush doll, the one that made me realize “oh shit this is a Thing!!” was one of my first blorbos, Loki, I’d say maybe five or six years ago??

I found him in a listing on ebay post-Ragnarok and pre-series. he came with an optional Thor, but I def didn’t have the money for that. :’D this is his original outfit, but those are not his original boots, which were soft and made of the same material. one of my other dolls wore the hell out of those and they finally started disintegrating, so I don’t put his ~fine Asgardian leather~ on him a lot to keep it from meeting a similar fate.

oddly, he’s the tallest of my dolls which he lords over Zemo on a regular basis and my softest/squishiest, but also has the most 👁👄👁 expression. I choose to interpret it as he’s finally got some rest and has mellowed out, poor guy

this is what I keep him in most of the time when we’re not trying to replicate his black suit from Ragnarok:

it’s just forest green sweats, which when you add his cape, kind of looks like his outfit from the end of season 2 of the series.

my next one was Baron Zemo, probably two years later. he was a special commission from Meizai on etsy, and though he definitely took a while, he’s perfect 💜

he looks more worn than Loki does bc he’s been dragged on more trips lol. also not his original boots, I basically found a “standard” pair I liked that I could order from the ‘zon (booo, I know) and now I just keep a couple sets in rotation. everything but the belt is an original outfit, handmade by Meizai as part of the commission. his coat and little shirt are exactly like the show, and I’m so thrilled ✨

I’ve posted about him in a couple different outfits before, but currently the one I’m working on finding pieces for is another Daniel Brühl character, The Cheese Man of Düsseldorf Eric Bouchard.

I tried a couple different combinations with just some pieces I had on me, but I think I’m going to need to procure the hat and a little scarf to really sell it (and also figure out how to make a little temporary beard for him):

so then after him, I acquired one version of my slasher oc Maxi Morvant that I called chibi!Maxi and is very dear to my heart. he's also originally inspired by Daniel Brühl, but has kind of started shifting in my head into more of his own thing.

anyway, after I got my new full-time real person job, I had a little extra, and decided to bribe myself into writing more of my dissertation commission a version of him that’s a. a little more accurate to the version that exists in my head, and b. has some fun extras. 👀

this is chibi!Maxi 2.0, with more accurate hair color/style, and his little earrings and eyeliner to boot. this is his standard outfit, which is just from a bunch of smaller stores online. he has the only pair of soft boots in the bunch rn bc I cuddle with him most, and bc everyone else’s feet are too big. :’D

as for those fun extras…

aside from his moles scattered all over his body, Maxi famously has a deep scar over his heart, which I got added as embroidery here (with a more metaphorical bleeding heart underneath bc accurate in multiple ways).

Maxi doesn't currently have any tattoos in canon at the moment, but I am sorely tempted to add one of these. the coffin is for his work as a mortician/funeral director (and something something symbolic weight he has to carry) and the gator is his favorite animal. I just thought it'd be cute to put one on his butt, idk <3 This version is from KTcustomdolls on etsy, whom I also commissioned to do the concept art for the doll first, and they were really chill to work with!

I forgot to get a solo photo of him in his hoodie and Greymoon Community College sweatpants, but here's him in what he wears for his serial killing/necromancy embalming work.

(I was so excited to find the red-soled boots, red is a huge theme color for him and they also just look so cute~)

finally, one of my most recent acquisitions is my newest blorbo, König from cod. I'm not used to blorbos having a doll I can order that doesn't require a commission, but Plush Wonderland over on insta had him and a bunch of other cod dudes (plus endless people from anime and video games alike).

the outfit is original, the boots are again from the 'zon. if they look a little chewed on scuffed, that's just from my nosy cat the ferocious battles he drops into.

some detail shots -- I'm glad they included the proper flag on his armor, it wouldn't feel like him without it. his mask is accurate, if not a little prone to getting stretched out. his chest plate is fine, but the knee pads are already starting to come unglued, so I found a generic cozy offduty outfit for him as well.

I just kinda french-tucked his mask into the sweater, but the beanie keeps it in place, and I think the sweater compliments his eyes in the cutest way.

"but rae," I hear you asking, "we don't know what he looks like under the mask, save for that one weird glitch face reveal. what does the doll look like under all his gear?"

I don't hate it. I tend to prefer the Peter Steele headcanon that other people in the fandom have, just due to my own preferences, but this isn't bad. I think him being a fluffy ginger is actually kind of cute, and I like that they added some scars from the wounds he's likely sustained over his career. it makes sense. he also looks a little 👁👄👁, but tbf, they needed to have enough room for the mask to fit between the eyes, so I don't fault him too much for that

the only person in my collection not featured here is my custom Remy Lebeau, aka Gambit, also from Meizai. I'll take some photos with him when I get back, because he hasn't had a proper photoshoot yet and that could be fun.

for now, here's the guys all in their assorted cozy clothes, hoping everyone is still able to achieve some post-holiday chill this weekend. :'D I love 20 cm/cotton/k-pop style/oshi dolls and I'm always checking the tag to see what new ones pop up, so I thought I'd go ahead and add mine!!

pretty minor thing to think about, but i find it interesting how chapter 7 is the first chapter illustration to show chizuutan as chizuru (instead of chuutan)

like, i get it’s a flashback chapter, but we hardly got to see her as chizuru in the previous few chapters thus far… maybe we’ll get to see more of her as her true self after the hiyori fight/make up? only future chapters may tell, i guess…

I am already at chapter four of Imperium by Robert Harris and I just gotta say,it was slightly satisfying to read about how Cicero tried to hold a speech but the others,the Konsuls,kept on interrupting him until the end of the meeting

you guys don't know how many times I had wished for Cicero to shut up during latin homework,cursing him for being a speaker and talking for so long with complicated sentences.

Honestly I feel like the hate the current wxs events are getting for "being too boring" comes exclusively from the fact people only care about said unit. And also the fact you guys need to be spoon-fed angst because you use the characters solely as angst dolls but that's a conversation for another time.

"Wxs is so boring" okay. Check out vbs, they just achieved their #1 dream! Their story couldn't be more hype right now! Haruka just became mmj's manager! Don't even get me started on whatever the hell happened in Saki5! Cheer for them too!

The pjsk units were never meant to be enjoyed as individual pieces. We have 5 stories to follow for a reason. There's nothing bad about being a wxs oshi, there's nothing bad about wanting things to spice up a little but GIVE THEM A BREAK!

We've just gotten back from 3rd Anni. If you recall, Project Sekai's 1 year events weren't very action packed either. Give them a little breather before the pace picks up and try to enjoy it.

And please, cut the guys some slack. They're silly little high schoolers, they don't need to suffer every day for your indulgence. You have ao3 for that.
