they only see each other in the morning cause the kids get out of school much earlier than kdj gets out of work, and he like gives up his seat to them regularly if he gets one, makes sure they don’t get jostled, eventually gives them little snacks for breakfast when it’s clear he’s not a weirdo

han donghoon seems to be a core part of the 1863 crew... in addition to a bunch of characters whose presence is a callback to early scenarios, it's interesting that we get two of the relatively minor kim dokja parallel characters from early orv (kim namwoon and han donghoon) back-to-back. this probably says something about kim dokja himself, but all I can think about is 1863rd hsy kind of unknowingly needing a certain Type of Guy around in order to keep a team functional

my favorite the blorbo ever my wet cat my plushie I'd soak and throw on the wall is, in fact, kdj 😔🤟 but after that, it gets really blurry!! I'm crazy attached to all of kimcom, but not only the main 10-13 ppl that fandom usually counts, but the extended version that includes also various allies.

from the characters that already are quite popular, i think I'm most fond of Huiwon and Uriel 🥹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ MY BELOVEDS 😭😭😭😭 and a tortured meowmeow Plotter, I'm straight up obsessed 💥🫶

Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint Thoughts, Chapters 1-100

I actually had a really hard time getting through the beginning of ORV since it’s building to emotional pay-offs VERY slowly. The first 100 chapters are a bit of a blur for me, but I already wrote my thoughts for Chapters 101-150 so. Uh. Here’s my even more biased than usual thoughts

Jung Heewon. She was my guiding light of having a clear and distinct personality right from the start. 

I want Lee Gilyoung’s ability so fucking bad. Do you understand how badly I blacked out with jealousy once I learned about it?

I think Yoo Joonghyuk was the first person to voluntarily tell Kim Dokja his attribute, or, at the very least, the vibe was that most were keeping their attributes, skills, sponsor, etc. a secret for tactical advantages. That scene made more of an impact due to this, and I enjoyed Yoo Joonghyuk genuinely being a good teacher. 

Speaking of, I'm genuinely fond of how Kim Dokja’s kind of a loser at times. He’s got tons of flaws that I am unfortunately tuned into as well as my own. I also think it’s meaningful in how Han Sooyoung is the one who constantly calls him out on his attempts to be an omniscient reader/schemer. 

Yoo Sangah choosing to save and believe in others because she was saved and believed in (Chapter 46, Chapter 95). Han Donghoon’s belief in people with wall as a way of understanding (Chapter 60). Yoo Joonghyuk’s refusal to give up (Chapter 82). Kim Dokja’s casual admittance that WOS was “ruined” by surviving alone (Chapter 31). Kim Dokja wanting to see the epilogue (Chapter 42).

I know why Kim Dokja did it, and me disliking it adds credit to the story itself since I believe it’s supposed to be part of Kim Dokja’s moral complexity, but I did not like killing off Kim Namwoon, even if I agree with adding into the story itself. It’s not the fault of ORV but of Kim Dokja, in my opinion, for killing a 17-year-old AFTER you’d already found a work-around. I just don’t think it’s justifiable, and I did kind of hate him for a bit ngl (unfortunately, some of the reasons I disliked him were because I saw my own flaws in him, so it’s just a never ending cycle 😞)

The tentacle mpregging of Han Myungoh was funny and shocking at first, but, uh. Just personally not a fan of forced pregnancy on anyone, regardless of gender or what kind of person they are.

A lot of plot lines and characters just felt like they dropped off or didn’t really start. I think it will be much better as I read more, but the first 100 chapters are very plot-heavy & I just. could not connect or get into a lot of it due to the lack of insight into other characters, but that may also just be me

Characters that deserved more screen time:

Kim Namwoon. I have already made a pointless rant but i really think he could have had more of a presence after Gigantomachia.

Yoo Mia. She's kind of just there most of the time, despite being one of the main character's only living relative. And she doesn't contribute much to the story, as both a character and a plot point, after the Absolute Throne Arc. (You may correct me on this part because I really can't just remember any other detail of Yoo Mia.) And not that I'm preaching anything crazy but I think Mia would have made a pretty great sidekick with that inventory skill of hers.

Han Donghoon. HE WAS BASICALLY A MINATURE KIM DOKJA, HE HAD SO MUCH OPPURTUNITY FOR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, WHY COULDN'T KIM DOKJA ADOPT DONGHOON AS WELL

Han Myungoh and Dareum. I know you guys are sick of this man. He's an absolute bastard. You're glad to be rid of him. But we all agree that the mpreg really changed him. Dareum was a little angel who we never even got to know anything about. She was just known solely as Asmodeus' host. Sing-Shong, I beg of you, let us love this little angel more.

Lee Seolhwa. But like, as an actual person. You guys might hate me for this but Seolhwa always felt kind of stiff to me. She just felt like a convenient side character, like she's just always in the background healing the wounded (well duh K, she's a doctor) but I always imagine what it would have been like if Seolhwa truly was a resentful and villainous character who managed to escape her darkest moments by the help of the KimCom, instead of just "oh she was possessed by Antinus, Seolhwa was good all along."

YOO JONGHYUK'S LITERAL UNBORN DAUGHTER EJXJU3JDUEHRURJ WHY WAS SHE JUST SHOVED ASIDE, WHY WAS SHE ONLY BROUGHT UP FOR LIKE ONE ARC, YOO JONGHYUK I GET YOUR BAD RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR PAST BUT HAVE YOU NO FEELINGS FOR THE CHILD YOU NEVER GOT TO HOLD

Again all of this is highly opinionated, I can see why some of these characters were kinda shoved into the backroom. With such a large and diverse cast, it's not really easy to give everyone enough screentime, the webnovel would have been a thousand chapters long if Sing-Shong actually did that, but a reader can dream.
