I don’t know, but it’s a shocking development.

Why does Oroku Saki and Karai have Lightning Powers in Konami's Classic TMNT Games and Dotemu's Shredder's Revenge, I don't know

AU where Stockman decides to leave the foot clan after he initially gets his eye gouged out and then goes looking around for other potential employers that interest him (traits including that they have Interesting- if not necessarily legal- work and probably will be able to keep the foot clan from getting to him again because I can't imagine that Oruku Saki takes kindly to a defector) and one way or another ends up discovering the EPF.

And Baxter is a smart man who happens to be getting out of a previous job where he got maimed, so he's a little bit cautious about the organization and looks into it. Which probably involves a bit of hacking and accessing government documents that he really shouldn't have access to, let's be real, but one way or another he decides its a good fit and gets an interview. For sake of the scenario I think Bishop himself is doing the interview, maybe because Stockman is a pretty high profile, talented person, and Bishop wants to see for himself what he's like.

So the interview starts and goes as interviews do, Baxter bragging about himself up and down and probably also dropping hints that he's down to do illegal things because let's be real the EPF does so many illegal things. And then at some point he starts hinting at things that are buried deeper and that he shouldn't be able to know at all. Things about the EPF's true nature that shouldn't be available to a civilian, sure, but also things about Bishop. Things that are so deeply hidden that nobody but himself and maybe the president should be able to know.

And since let's be real subtlety is not Stockman's strong suit this is probably him being like "hey given that you founded the EPF that means you've been alive since at least 1870 what's up with that?" in the middle of the interview before going back to talking about how awesome and smart he is.

And Bishop is just sitting there going "I think my only options are to hire this guy or kill him."

I'm planning to update and post more about my human!AU and the origin and lore.

But here is the shorter version of the origin of their Mutagen contact.

‘Oroku Saki and Hamato Yoshi having a feud, driven by Saki and his jealousy for the things Yoshi had that he felt should be his own, is an old story. 

Rivals in the clan, set against each other in the adoration of Tang Shen, who reciprocates that affection with Yoshi. 

It was more scorn than the fragile ego of Oroku Saki could handle, and he set his mind to levelling the playing field. 

If he couldn’t have what he saw as rightfully his, he would take it by force or leave it to no other.’

The rivalry of Yoshi and Oruku ultimately came to a head once Yoshi had discovered a substance at a forgotten shrine that could enhance the mind and soul. 

Tang Shen studied what they had found at the shrine, finding traces of it in old folklore, and eventually created a substance not dissimilar to an enhancer or medicine. Mutagen.

Its properties are told in scripture and legends of superhuman strength and abilities, giving a person enhanced reaction and intelligence, as well as advanced healing and health. 

With so much of their lives already on tender hooks, including their adoration for Tang Shen, the opposing views on this new and possibly life changing enhancement were the final straw. 

Yoshi knew that Oroku would use it for the wrong reasons, for war and creating super soldiers to command and control, a dream he had often shared which deeply concerned him. 

Where Yoshi wanted to help those in need and never take more than was needed, Oroku wanted to complete control, take before being taken, kill before being killed. Power over all. 

Sharing his worries with Tang Shen, who had fallen and devoted herself solely to Yoshi, they both agreed to hide it and keep it away from Oroku . They both agree to run away together, taking the mutagen with them. 

But, after learning of their plan, Oroku leads a small attack on the clan village, his madness growing and leads to the demise of Tang Shen, while she stays behind and tries to distract and keep him from Yoshi. 

Her death instils his hatred for Yoshi, vowing to hunt him down and destroy him and create an army to finally claim what is rightfully his.

Yoshi went into hiding, fleeing his homeland and keeping the Mutagen hidden, locked away, unable to face the reminder of his loss. That was until he found his sons. 

After a year of neglect and seeing his struggles to grow and recover, Yoshi gave a small dose of the mutagen to Raphael. 

At the time, Raphael was the smallest and weakest of the boys. Yoshi hoped that it would help heal him, and later after gaining Michelangelo, gave it to each of his sons so they would all grow and share the strength equally. 

This increased day by day with their training, Tang Shen's hope and legacy becoming living proof through the brothers, with Yoshi's determination and dedication teaching and guiding them into becoming highly skilled and honorable warriors.

Part of him also wanted them to grow strong, healthy and be able to defend themselves, should Oroku ever return and challenge them. they'd be ready.  

That and so they couldn’t be taken from him as well.

Oruku Saki smiles to himself, he was so proud of his children.

Casey was celebrating his victory with his friends. And Karai had accomplished her mission early and was sat drinking tea with him.

There weren't many times as leader of the Foot clan that he could sit down and relax. But being able to do so, and with one of his children made him so happy.

Karai was stirring her tea and telling him about how she'd freaked out a new recruit, when the doors opened. Shredder frowned seeing many of the upper ranked Krang before him.

He got to his feet and Karai was on high alert. She didn't unsheath her katana, just yet. They were allies, but this didn't feel like any other meeting they'd had. And it didn't escape Karai or her father that they were all armed.

"What can I do for you, Krang Prime?" Says Shredder, diplomatically. Krang Prime smiled cruelly "the agreement between the ones who are known as the Foot clan and the ones known as the Krang, has been destroyed."

Shredder took a step back. "Why? What is the meaning off this?"

Krang Prime laughed "why the invasion. You who are known as the Foot clan stand against us, you try to stop our invasion and for that... You will be terminated."

Karai glares, unsheathing her katana and her father's claws sprung out. "Very well, if it's a fight you want. Than consider this war." Says the Shredder.

Krang Prime smirked "you will not fight us that are known as Krang. No you will be our weapons."

It was a trap and neither could escape as they were hit by the Krangs perfected retro mutagen.

"Tigerclaw, it is your turn."

Tigerclaw, emerged from the shadows and bowed to Krang Prime before vanishing. His revenge would be finally be fulfilled.

"Ah, this has been great" Says Casey pushing the doors open as he Irma and April left the desert place. "I'll say, but I still disagree that bubblegum is the superior flavour" Says Irma.

Casey shakes his head fondly as as April sighs, loud and theatrically. "It's an acquired taste" is all she said making her friends laugh. April couldn't help but laugh along with them.

This was turning out to be a great day.

Well, it was until the trio headed into a side street and were suddenly surrounded by Krang bots.

"What the hell man!" Groans Casey, glaring them down. "What do you freaks want?" The Krang bot looks at April "the girl known as April O'Neil is to come with the ones known as Krang."

April glares, wishing she had her tessen. "Like hell." She ducked and grabbed Irma's hand as the bots started blasting. Casey pulled out his hockey sticks and began fighting back.

"Red, you two need to go!" April really wanted to argue but knew better. "Be careful! I've got a bad feeling about this." Casey nodded, taking out the bot blocking the way and watching them both run.

Casey grins, turning on his heel and taking down footbot after footbot. But as fun as this all was, something was up. If they really wanted April, why hadn't they tried going after her?

Something was wrong.

"Hey!" He yells, spotting a figure in the shadows. "Come out and face me you coward!" The figure chuckles as it sends chills down Casey's spine.

"It's a shame your confidence doesn't match your skills, Oroku Casey."

Casey froze, he knew that voice. The figure dropped down from above and Casey was immediately on guard. "Tigerclaw... What are you doing here? And with the Krang."

The unspoken 'And why are you using my real name' hung in the air between them. Everyone in the Foot knew better than to use his real name.

Tigerclaw smirked.

"Isn't it obvious? The Invasion is upon us, and I have picked the winning side." Casey frowned, the invasion? "My dad would never agree to such a thing."

Tigerclaw nodded "He didn't, infact he shut the whole thing down. Too bad it wasn't his call to make." He grins, cold and mean. "And the best part is, you've sent the missing piece exactly where we need her to be."

Casey frowned, missing piece...? His eyes widened "April...." She was heading to the lair, the Krang were going to use her to start the invasion.

He needed to warn everyone. Casey turned to run but Tigerclaw was suddenly in his face attacking him and Casey was immediately put on defence. "You're not going anywhere boy!"

Shit.

He didn't have a choice, did he? "You've been a thorn in my side for a long time. The Krang convinced me to join them the moment they said I could have your head for myself." Says Tigerclaw, swinging at him as Casey dodged.

He would like nothing more than to hold back and piss Tigerclaw off. But that wasn't the time for this, he needed to even the playing field. The sooner he dealt with Tigerclaw, the sooner he could get to his friends.

Casey dropped his hockey sticks and altered his stance to one very similar to Karai's. Tigerclaw nodded approvingly "good, now show me your true power, son of the Shredder. So I can see you at your best and knock you back down."

Casey smirked, he had to believe he could win this.

"Bring it on."

Hatari / ハタリ, Volug / オルグ, and Nailah / ニケ

Hatari (JP: ハタリ; rōmaji: hatari), also called Hatary in some releases, is a laguz kingdom that lies beyond the Desert of Death in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. The name is likely a corruption of Tatary, also called Tartary, a term invented by the Europeans to refer to the then-unknown, arid lands north of the Ural Mountains stretching between the Caspian Sea and the Pacific Ocean. This area consisted of modern-day Mongolia and parts of Northern India and China, associated heavily with the Tatars - a term for all Turkic cultures in the lands - and the Mongol Empire that would form from them united under Ghengis Khan. Volug is a wolf laguz that joins Nailah and Rafiel in crossing the Desert of Death. Unfortunately, this localized name doesn't seem to have a basis in anything. In Japanese, his name is オルグ (rōmaji: orugu), romanized as Orugh. He most likely is named after Örüg Temür Khan (JP: オルク・テムル・ハーン; rōmaji: oruku temuru hān) of the Mongols' Northern Yuan dynasty. After 14 years of khagan rule by the Oirats, Örüg - then called Gulichi or Ugetchi Khashikha - organized the death of the khan and seized power, returning power to those descended from Ögedei Khan. According to Japanese sources, under Örüg Temür Khan's rule, the names Mongol and Yuan were done away with, in favor of Tatar; this was not well received by the Mongols, as it indicated subservience to the Ming dynasty that they so badly wished to conquer. When the brother of the prior Khan claimed asserted himself to rule, most all clans supported him, and

Nailah is the queen of Hatari who crossed the Desert of Death to unite with the other laguz. Unfortunately, her name does not seem to have an association with the region of Tatary; Na'ila bint al-Furafisa, wife of Uthman ibn Affan - a companion to the prophet Muhammad and the third Caliph. Uthman had a fruitful, peace-filled rule for over a decade. However, some disgruntled people raised rebellion, eventually storming the Caliph's home and killing him. Na'ila attempted to protect her husband from the assailants, but in the end, only lost a few fingers.

In Japanese, Nailah's name is ニケ (rōmaji: nike) officially romanized as Nike. She likely is named after the Greek goddess of victory, Nike. She serves as a loyal aide to Zeus. This position was received by her and her siblings as a result of being the first gods that sided with Zeus against the Titans in Titanomachy. It's possible a parallel was made between Nailah being the laguz leader who aids Pelleas in retaking his kingdom and Nike supporting Zeus. Additionally, Nike is typically depicted with wings, then called "Winged Victory", which could be alluded to in Nailah's bond with the heron Rafiel.

Hear me out. So we've all seen the Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic

But Dick Grayson has never been too involved with these events. Some of you may even know who Karai is, and I'm not talking about 2012 Karai who was Splinter's long lost daughter kidnapped by the foot or 2018 Karai who was a sweet grandma. I'm talking about the IDW 2011 comic book Karai.

Imagine this, Dick Grayson as Batman with his Robin the prickly Damian we know and love. Now, we know that Damian's grandfather, Ra's al Ghul, is an immortal leader of an assassin clan that bathes in mountain dew to maintain his flesh or whatever. And then Damian is searching for a nobler way through working with Dick!bats to make up for his past mistakes with the LOA.

Now enter Karai, the granddaughter of Oroku Saki, AKA the Shredder, who in the IDW version was the leader of the Foot Clan in feudal Japan. Shredder was then pickled in some sort of demonic juice until modern day where he was brought back to life so he could take over New York and have sex with his sexy immortal fox girlfriend. Sound familiar?

I'm mean look at this loser getting it on in his mountain dew.

Anyway, so Dick is Batman and Damian is Robin and Karai ends up in in their universe somehow. Now Dick is dealing with two grandchildren who were raised to be assassins. I just think it would be real funny.

In Batman Unlimited, Damian ends up taking over the League of an Assassins. Karai ends up taking over the foot clan. I think they would get along in the strangest passive aggressive but also polite way. Then Dick is there being the responsible one keeping them from committing crazy murder. He would probably end up fighting Ra's again which I always enjoy:

I think this would give him a chance to eldest daughter syndrome it up with Leo as well as trauma bond over the fact that there are crazy assassin psychos out there obsessed with controlling their brains.

The IDW TMNT comics are pretty darn violent. Not for kids my friends.

Unrelated, sort of, but people are always trying to compare the robins with the four turtles. They always say that 3/4 is good enough but I think they are missing the obvious solution here. Stephanie Brown is a Michaelangelo. I think they would be fast friends! Stephanie is a robin too so she should get to hang with the turtles.

I think Damian would get along with Jennika though :)

They are both sweethearts.

Having to make a Deal with Shredder to save your friends

"SHREDDER!" Your grip tightened on your weapon as you stared at the scene in front of you. Shredder had Mikey by the throat and the other turtle brothers were tied up. TigerClaw kept a close eye on them guns pointed threateningly while Xever and Rahzor stood to the side waiting for orders. Purple dragons littered the roof and it was obvious even if the turtles weren't tied up it'd be a close fight.

Shredder had called and demanded Splinter come retrieve his disciples but the sensei was healing from another fight so you came out of hiding instead.

You could tell by the way Oruku looked at you, he wasn't expecting you.

"..." Oruku stared at you eyes narrowed as he slowly began squeezing Mikeys throat tighter. Staying calm you narrow your eyes as you walk closer. TigerClaw guns click as he points them towards you and foot soldiers and purple dragons turn ready to attack but you don't pay attention to them, they won't attack unless he tells them too.

"Put him down." You demand pausing as your blocked.

Shredder chuckles looking amused and the Purple dragons abd foot soldiers along with Shredders mutant minions begin to laugh at you. You ignore them and lock eyes with Oruku not letting him look away from you.

"(Y/N) its not safe get out of here!" Leo orders but a kick to the side by TigerClaw silences him. The blue eyed turtle looks up at your terrified and you just nod at him and his brothers. It'd be alright, you had a plan.

"Put him down." You repeat focusing back on the Shredder.

You were outnumbered, outmatched, and likely this fight would end badly for you and all your friends. But if you played your cards right Shredder may just let everyone go in exchange for you, he always was possessive of what he thought was his. And you had a feeling he'd do whatever he had to if it meant having you back.

"And why would I do that?" Taking a step closer the mutants around Shredder stiffen ready to fight but he lifts his free hand making them stop. The foot soldiers move and you feel bolder as you walk closer.

"(Y/N) what are you doing? Let the ninjas handle this!" Mikey begs but Shredder squeezes his throat tighter silencing him.

"Mikey!" The others cry before their silenced.

Glaring at Shredder anger boiling in your gut Orukus hand visibly twitches and his hold on Mikeys throat becomes more relaxed. Even after you left his clan and ran away to hide with the turtles and Karai he still had a soft spot for you. You were going to use it.

"Because I asked you." You respond slowly as you get closer still. Shredder's posture remains relaxed as everyone else stiffens. In a sign of good faith and feeling confident you put your weapons in their sheathes as you continue making direct eye contact with the Shredder still walking closer.

"Your words no longer contain value to me (Y/N)." He answers but you see the way he's looking at you, you still mattered. You'd always matter to him even if he wouldn't say it aloud.

Standing in front of him your hand slowly reaches out and touches his armor before lightly gripping the arm that held Mikey. The Orange turtle made a choking sound but as Oruku focuses on you his grip gets looser. "Put him down." You repeat softly.

Shedder rolls his eyes but after a moment of complete silence where he focuses on you and feels your gentle touch he huffs before he drops the orange turtle. Mikey immediately begins gasping for air and quickly scuttles back away from the Shredder before he hides behind your leg.

"Where is Splinter?" Oruku demands ignoring the turtle as Mikey clings to you.

"He's not coming. You'll have to settle for me." You respond arms crossing as you shift so Mikey is out of the Shredders veiw.

"That wasn't the terms." He snarls and you chuckle.

"Last time I checked you never keep your end of the deal." Shredder frowns at that but remains calm.

"Why are you here (Y/N)?" He questions and you hum determined.

"Because your going to let my friends go." You respond with confidence.

"And why would I do that?" He asks more than amused at the crazy thought.

"Because I have something you want more than them." Everyone pauses realizing your talking about yourself. The mutants were more than aware of your complicated relationship with Shredder and how it devastated him when you took Karai and left.

Grabbing your arm and tightening his grip you remain calm as Shredders hand shakes.

"You think your that valuable?" He demands angrily and you smirk.

"I don't know, how vaulable am I Oruku Saki?" You answer as his claws come out as he sneers. Mikeys grip on your leg tightens and you put your free hand on his head.

Everything would be okay. You had a plan.

"..." Everyone is silent as Shredder looks at you. Finally after a tense minute of him thinking over your offer the Foot Clan leader holds up his clenched hand before opening it.

"... Master are you sure?" Rahzor questions confused. TigerClaw growls softly but says nothing as he waits for his masters confirmation. Shredder nods.

"(Y-Y/N)...?" Mikey asks worried.

"Trust me." Hearing the ropes around the turtles get sliced apart you smile before letting several smoke bombs drop from your sleeves into your hands. Shredders grip on your one hand tightens as he sees the bombs. "... I'm sorry." You murmer.

Before he can react you throw one in his face before you quickly turn slamming the rest into the ground, causing a distraction.

In the confusion the boys escape their ropes and grab their weapons before retreating. Raph grabs his sais and screams as he takes out several soldiers before helping everyone retreat. Taking Mikeys hand you don't look back as you take off.

Landing on the roof across from the one you'd been on, you see the turtles are already several buildings away. Pausing you hear a swish.

Watching a knife pierce the air next to you and land in a powerbox you smile. Glancing back as sparks fly past you, your eyes meet Oruku's once more. Smiling at him seeing his hand reaching out as if to grab you, you give him a nod before disappearing.

You feel his eyes follow you as you go and you know this won't be the last time you meet.

"Master?" Xever asks unsure of what to do now. Everyone was staring at him as his clenched fists shook

"... Return home." He orders.

"Master we could still-" TigerClaw starts but Shredder throws a dagger knicking the cat. He was shaking and at the moment his command was not to be challenged.

"Listen to your master and retreat!" He demands harshly. TigerClaw bows his head muttering apologies and soon Oruku is alone on the roof as his minions rush to leave. Now alone he takes off his kubuto and stares into the metal. Growling at his reflection he looks up to where you'd been, thinking of you.

"Next time (Y/N)... next time you will not be so lucky..." Next time you would be his along with his daughter and the turtles would be dead at his feet.

Putting his kubuto back on he stares at where you'd been. Next time you would be his.

and uh.. i guess i’ll tell you the few facts i wrote in their bio notes.

donatello -

slightly longer tail than his brothers ( caused by the good genes arc. ) , scar on his plasteron ( medium sized ) its unknown how he got it. scar on his neck ( from utrom shredder ) , geek buds with angel, has curly mask tails.. absolutely hates short jokes or being picked up.

angel -

shirt from back to the sewer combined with her reg pants. wrist bands with name , combat boots, belt with all sorts of tech, geek buds with donatello. hair is pink and black.

raphael -

scar on his eye and neck (minor and from the occasional collateral damage. ) , shorter cut tails ( no reason just his style. ) 

leonardo.

least likely to make a short joke, tails are the same as 03. minor cuts on right arm, past elbow. scar on his pasteron and left shoulder ( from the second battle from oroku saki. 

michelangelo -

minor cuts on plasteron from battles, mask tails are slightly braided to express his creative style, literally carries don 24/7 just to be annoying, even when don asks him not too.

karai -

back 2 the sewers look bc yes, drop dead gorgeous, allies with the turtles most of the time, occasionally meditates with splinter & leonardo.

april -

hair is tied up like karai’s in back to the sewer, helps don and angel, she likes to hack, mainly on stockman for getting her fired but whatever.

casey jones --

* note leatherhead is 6′7 - 6′8

literally wears his hair in 1000 different styles. angel is like a sister to him even if they aren’t related. annoys don alot with mikey. carries don too as a joke.
