THE MISCONCEPTION ABOUT COMMENTING ON FIC
I’ve read all kinds of posts both from writers and readers lamenting about comments on fic. Authors are upset when they don’t get any, readers don’t know what kinds of comments to leave, etc. And it finally clicked in my brain why I think a lot of people don’t bother writing comments.
And this is what it boils down to:
Writers do not want praise.  We just want to talk about our story.
I can’t speak for everyone obviously - but I think the majority of writers don’t care so much for the “omg you’re a brilliant writer!!” comments as much as we just want to hear your thoughts on the story. Even if it’s just your thoughts as you’re reading of “oooh x happened! I can’t believe y said this! What’s going to happen now that z has happened?!” We literally just want to talk about what we’ve written like you would with a friend about a tv show. We’re not out here demanding praise like some entitled narcissist.
While praising our writing skills or writing style is appreciated, it doesn’t need to be said on every fic and every chapter that you read. If you regularly comment on someone’s work that’s telling enough that you like our technique. Readers shouldn’t feel pressured to have to praise a writer’s abilities every time they want to comment.
In the grand scheme of things, talking about the fic/chapter is actually more helpful to us writers instead of spewing praise. It’s the same with artwork. As nice as it is that people tell me “wow your art is so pretty!” it’s a LOT more useful to me to get comments like “I love their expressions!” or “the lighting on this is gorgeous!” because then I know WHAT people are liking about it. If no one ever comments on my backgrounds, I now know what to improve. If most people comment on liking the expressions, I now know the strong points of my art and can use it to my advantage to make even better art in the future.
The same goes for fic. If multiple people tell me they liked a certain part of the story I now know that things similar to that are a hit. It’s feedback I can use to improve the story and give my readers more of what they want. Without that I have no idea what they like about the fic.
Talking with a writer about their story also gives them inspiration!! Nothing gets us more in the mood to work on a fic than to have people wanting to talk about it. A lot of times just talking about one of my fics with someone will give me that push to continue working on it. Getting a comment that just says “great chapter” or “you’re a great writer” doesn’t do much to motivate us to continue that particular fic. But if you talk about the story and the characters it gives us motivation to continue working on it, may even give us ideas for future chapters. I would hope that those of you with “comment anxiety” find this approach so much easier than trying to praise the writer every time you read.
So that fic the author hasn’t updated in forever that you’re dying to read? Talk to them about the fic and the elements of the story! It will make the writer want to talk to you about it and will get their mind thinking about it, hopefully inspiring them to continue where they left off. Fics that are left in silence are more likely to be abandoned or even deleted because nothing feels worse than putting your heart into a story to have no one say anything about it.
TLDR; Writers do not want praise, we just want to talk with our readers about the story itself, and these are the kinds of comments that inspire us to keep writing more.
AMENDMENT >>> Some people are misinterpreting my words so I just wanted to make something clear. I am not trying to police how people comment - I am merely reassuring readers that not every writer is an entitled asshole who expects you to comment about how talented they are and what a gift they are to the fandom. I’ve seen this attitude in writers occasionally and I want people to know that most of us writers are not like that. We love any and all comments but you do not ever need to feel pressured to say how amazing we are and lick our boots. There is nothing wrong with praising the writer, in fact a lot of us love it, but it is not something that should be required if you feel inclined to comment.
A good writer will love any positive comment whether there be praise or not. A good writer will never have expectations or demand something of their readers. A good writer will appreciate their readers and cherish the comments they receive.

Being Baron Von Draxums Assistant Includes...
You're a young Yokai when he finds you. A street smart teen that has no where to go and is just doing their best to survive alone in the dangerous hidden city. Baron remembers being a simple warrior before he was an alchemist. He remembers being ignorant and poor before he gained power and became rich.
He observes you for some time, noticing how you only steal what you need and never take a surplus. Your always in the background. How you help out other street kids. He remembers having to be crafty like you, never sleeping and always being on high alert. He remembers how it felt not to have a bed or home. How it felt having to rely on only himself. So he approaches you with an offer.
He needs help with his plans. Help in his lab. Help around the mansion. Help on missions. Honestly he just needs help. And he needs someone he can trust. Someone smart and crafty like you, like him. Your quick reflexes and ingenuity are perfect for what he needs in a partner and he's more than willing to pay well and let you stay in his mansion with him.
Honestly it's his offer or eventually getting captured by Big Mama. The woman is constantly on the look out for poor Yokai no one would look for if they went missing. You've seen what happens in those fights, what happens to Yokai like you that aren't careful one day and just disappear.
You're worried. I mean he's a famous warlord, it's understandable to feel nervous but your options are limited. So like he expects you take his offer. The contract he writes isn't binding. You're free to leave whenever you desire as long as you don't tell anyone what you've seen or heard. A simple secret oath and Baron feels confident to begin teaching you.
Your job is fairly simple, well it is at first. He wants you to adapt to his lab not just be thrown in with no warning. Your his assistant not some lab rat. At least if you prove useful you won't become a lab rat.
You have an affinity for magic he learns. It's small but it's there and he finds it fasnciating. While he noticed you were always in the background he didn't realize how in the background until you came to his mansion. It turns out your powers allow you to be seen but not focused on. A type of chameleon like shifting ability or perhaps an affinity for shadow magic that makes it hard for people to focus on you unless you want to be seen.
After discovering what your capable of Baron helps by teaching you how to use your abilities. He takes it upon himself to train you both in the mystique and martial arts. While you know how to street fight and have a natural sort of street smarts from your unfortunate circumstances he teaches you more difficult moves so that you won't ever be easily overpowered.
You use your new found power to go out on stealth missions for Baron. And hes more than impressed with your progress and work. You steal and get information for him or deliver packages and pick things up. You're always in and out and you've never been caught. Even after a fight, your enimies say you were like a shadow.
While he sends you on plenty of missions and has you working hard when you're not training with him, Baron never expects you to kill or kidnap anyone for him. You may have the occasional fight or run in with trouble while out of the mansion but he does the hard stuff. You do the easier more time consuming or stealth required tasks.
It doesn't take long for the gargolyes to welcome you as apart of the family. When their not on Barons shoulder their following you around asking you questions curious about your life and who you were before you were employed by the Baron. They report back to the Baron because he's not good at asking about the emotional aspect of one's life and he learns about you through them as you learn about him through them. They act as good buffers and when tension is high or trust thin they keep the peace allowing you both to connect in ways you couldn't alone.
Your well taken care of and Baron quickly comes to like your presence around the mansion as more than a minion and more of his kid. You may have started as a scared shadow but you've made your mark known and the mansions just as much yours as it is his. You make it feel more homey and you make him see what he's fighting for. The future of young yokai like you.
Little gifts show up in your room. The gargoyles are always giving you trinkets but they do it in person. These are from the Baron. Books mostly. But mystic weapons and candies or strange things from the market are also frequent. Especially after a fight. You both struggle with your words so this is the second best thing. He often finds things in his room from around the area your mission sent you too.
Physical affection is rare as touching isn't something he typically does outside of training. That being said he likes to give the occasional hair ruffle or side hug when you've done a particularly good job. The gargoyles however are much less shy so you're never starved for attention or affection. Baron's also not light on praise. While he's shy to do so in public because of his image when you're alone he lets you know how he feels about your success and failures.
You're a happy family and someday maybe soon you'll meet your brothers and they can join the family too.

Prompt: The boys are at it again in guessing who the mysterious, friendly neighborhood Spider Hero of New York could be. With a joking comment, the minds of each ninja begin to wonder if it is perhaps you under the mask!”
Notes:
(s/p) = spider persona name)
~xXx~ “All I’m saying is it’s kind of nice to have some of the heat off our shells for once.”, Leo defended, raising his arms from the back of the couch. The leader terrapin and his brothers sat in April’s and yours shared living room, the small old square tv in the center casting the news of events from a few hours prior. The headline “Super Market Robbery Put To A Quick Halt” streamed across the bottom of a recorded video of New Yorkers friendly (s/p) swinging off screen. “I miss kicking bad guy butt, but you do have a point bro.”, Mikey agreed, finishing off another pizza slice. “When’s the last time we got to finish a whole pizza in one sitting?!” “You mean all of us or just you? Cuz I can tell ya the answer to that real quick.”, Raph jested, his younger brother ignoring him in favor of grabbing another slice. Shaking off a slice offered by Donnie, Leo cheekily smirked at Raph. “You’re still just mad at the fact they totally whipped your behind when we first met.” Raph, grumbling, jabbed a digit towards the his brother. “Yeah, well I didn’t exactly see ya win the fight either. In fact, if I remember correctly they had ya danglin’ by Mikey’s nun-chucks.” With a dreamy sigh, ignoring the heat rising between both brothers, Mikey spoke through a mouth full of cheese. “That was so hot how they did it, too~.” Finishing his own slice and returning to a gadget in hand, Donnie let out a light chuckle. “You say that but you don’t even know them.” “Don’t you know actions speak louder than words?!”, Mikey swooned across Leo’s lap, the later shoving him of with an eye roll. “Besides, I already know who they are anyways.” At this, all turtles stopped what they were doing, sharply turning to the youngest with curiosity brimming in their eyes. Was this it? Were the boys finally going to find out who the mystery person behind the mask was after all this time of fighting crime side by side? “You saw their face?!”, all boys shouted in unison, leaning in towards the yellow bandanna turtle. With a big smile, and kicking his feet up onto the coffee table, Mikey replied. “Nope!” All brothers deadpanned, but before any could retort back, Mikey continued. “Don’t need to. I finally figured out who they are.” Leo chuckled incredulously, sitting back once more. “We already went over this Mikey. It’s not April.” “Or Master Shredder.”, came Donnie’s chime in. “Or that one guy runnin around’n a rat costume.”, added Raph. Mikey shook his head with a mildly irritated groan at his brothers mentions of his past theories to (s/p)’s true identity. “Just hear me out! I know I’ve got it this time!” Each ninja turtle listened doubtfully but motioned for Mikey to go on. “It’s clearly the cute delivery person. Why else would they leave me an extra slice of triple cheese, deluxe pepperoni?”, he smiled wide, making a mind blowing motion with his hands. “Uhm, because they didn’t want to waste any food at the end of the night? You’d be surprised how much humans throw out at closing.”, Donnie expressed knowledgeably. Falling back defeatedly into the sofa with crossed arms, Mikey huffed. “Well since you’re such a genius, who do you think it is, Don?” Donnie thought for a moment, adjusting his glasses. “The odds of us guessing who it is, or if we even know the person in such a heavily populated city is statistically extremely low.” Mikey rolled his head back with a loud groan and Leo laughed. “Come on, Don. You gotta guess someone. Anyone.” Donnie’s face scrunched up as he truly tried, Leo and Mikey throwing out more theories on who they thought the mystery person could be. Slightly frustrated, the leaner brother nodded his head towards Raphael. “Why don’t you guys ask Raph? He always seems to have something smart to say.” Playing with the toothpick between his teeth, Raph chuckled before throwing a thumb back to the kitchen. “Obviously, it’s that dork.” All eyes turned towards the human in the kitchen, the smell of cinnamon rolls in the oven wafting around them. Even though Raphael had been 100% joking around, the cogs in each of the four brothers brains began to turn as they gazed at none other than you. You, who stood in the kitchen with disheveled hair and wrinkly pajamas after waking from what was supposed to be a thirty minute nap turned six, were the only person neither of the ninja brothers had ever thought to consider. However, now watching as you carefully studied an oven mitt, they started to notice things they hadn’t before. You were about the right height and size as (s/p). Thinking back to certain moments, the brothers also realized how some of the things you both would say sounded similar. Heck, in some sense, even your voices sounded somewhat the same. It also seemed to be quite the coincidence that whenever their spidery friend swung off after defeating some baddies, you would show up moments later. Could it be? Could you truly be the person that occupied the ninja turtles minds with your spectacular crime fighting powers and personality?! Just as lightbulbs in the brothers minds were about to go off, they had all witnessed you toss the oven mitt in the air and try to, very unsuccessfully, karate jab your hand into said mitt, only for it to fall splat to the tiled floor. “Eeeyeeeeah, scratch that. I like Mikey’s rat costume guy betta.”, Raph spoke turning back around with his brothers. “Oh come on! You’re never gonna let that go, huh?!”, Mikey exasperated as another round of argumentative theories sprung up between the four. Too lost in each others reasonings for why or why not (s/p) could be this or that person, the four brothers missed you accidentally webbing your oven mitt to the ceiling in a re-attempt at earliers action, a panicked look quickly finding place on your face as you rushed to get it free.

This is my new favorite headcannon :)
Broke: Casey Jr was raised Cassandra + has the turtles for uncles/father figures
Woke: Casey Jr was raised by the whole of the resistance which would include former villains like Hypno-Potamus, Warren Stone, Repo Mantis, ect.
Hear me out, I just think it’s be hilarious if Casey Jr post movie is helping the turtles out on and pulls out some skill set the turtles assume was taught to him by one of them only to find out it’s one of their villains.
[Casey Jr hot wiring a car]
Donnie : Ah I see future me taught you a thing or two about car thievery! Splendid now we have a get away driver for any occasion.
Casey Jr: Oh, I mean Master Donatello taught me a lot, and I do mean a lot, but I got this trick from Mr.Repo! [goes back to hot wiring]
Donnie: heh???
[Casey Jr showing Leo a magic trick]
Leo: Oh wow, not even an apocalypse could stomp my love for magic! Greatest ninja and professional magician has a nice ring to it.
Casey Jr: Oh yeah, I loved learning magic tricks from you! Mr.Potamus even tried teaching me how to incorporate some of those moves in to battle. You see it’s all in simple slight of hands-
Leo doing a double take: I’m a need you to repeat that name for me.

Just read the reader x The Dark Turtles , and I really enjoyed reading it . Now I can’t help but wonder what if their were platonic yanderes ( would it be any different how it is now or would they act more different with the reader ?) 🌺
Ngl they already are platonic yanderes. They are very possessive and protective of you. And they refuse for you to meet their other halves because they don't want to lose you.
