i miss the forest… to my utmost dismay, i was reborn in probably the One place on earth without any forests, trees or vegetation. i feel as if i’m away from my family. i want to forage and hug the trees and bask in the grass under the sun and paint a little and purr while rambling about nothing to Mother Nature. i want to kiss flowers, say good morning to mushrooms, observe the deer, snails and bugs, go out hunting a little and then come back home and make some stew with all the food i gathered, whispering my thanks to the Mother for allowing me to take from Her. yearning, very, very much

As the decade starts to solidify, we're starting to see more soft rock reaching the peak of the charts, along with an increase in country crossovers. Bubblegum pop, which we've discussed previously, will also reach one of its peaks this year.

1971 also marks the year Soul Train was moved to syndication, which was instrumental in introducing Black artists, dancers, and icons to living rooms across the country. Soul music itself will continue to grow in popularity, especially the lush sound of Philly soul -- which will soon morph into another genre that will come to define the decade (we'll get to that).

In current (at the time) events, the anti-war movement in the United States will see a greater increase in support, with 60% of Americans opposing the Vietnam War according to a Harris Poll conducted in May. The following month, The New York Times will publish the Pentagon Papers. I'm sure this is the last time we'll see a political scandal take place this decade.

It is customary in Hollywood that when filming is completed on a movie or a TV show, that a "wrap" party be held. Filming has "wrapped," so a celebration is in order. When the filming of the second complete season of seaQuest DSV concluded, everyone concerned cast and crew-was ready for a good time. Since seaQuest's second season was filmed in Orlando (at Universal Studios Florida) that's where the party was held. The location? The Orlando Hard Rock Cafe! Perhaps the only damper on the party was the question of whether or not seaQuest will be renewed for next season. Although it has done quite well in its Sunday evening time slot, it is an expensive show to produce and at the time of the party and this writing, seaQuest's fate had not yet been determined.

After high school graduation, Tim enlisted in the Army National Guard. He attended Chadron State College and graduated with a social science degree in 1989. Tim spent a year teaching abroad before returning home to serve full time in the Army National Guard and eventually accepting a high school teaching and coaching position."
