10 Best Feature Films Made in Southern Oregon

With the current environment of social distancing I thought this would be a good time to create a list of films made by Southern Oregonians in Southern Oregon.  Specifically these are all narrative films made within the past 25 years and they are all available on YouTube (Buy or Rent). So if you are under quarantine or just trying to social distance yourself here is a great way to spend some time binge-watching these films with that one common thread.

I should also point out that I expect a flood of new films that fit this criteria to soon also be available on steaming platforms.  “One Step Ahead” by Robert James, “One Upon a Time in The Apocalypse” by Nathan Willard, “Emma was Here” by Daniel Rester, “Obscura” by Robert Thomas Preston and “Phoenix, Oregon” By Gary Lundgren are the ones that come to mind.

Cartography is a short film recently completed. Produced in Portland Oreogn, this film has a stellar soundtrack, a solid cast, including an amazing rescue dog, and a heartfelt story at the center.

claire.amadea Okay, next #SignificantOther content. I got to make two of these “goo suits” for the show - one for @maikamonroe and one for @sara_beko_. They aren’t particularly fancy. Just variously pigmented and thickened silicone for texture on a morph suit, specifically so we wouldn’t have to actually cover either actor in methylcellulose goo, and so Sara could effectively body double Maika. I collaborated with the super rad KNB supervisor, Carey Jones, our amazing costume designer@paperbagwaist, and our wonderful production designer Priscilla Elliott to nail the consistency and color on this, and I literally made both suits in our trailer during filming. All told, I think each suit consists of about a gallon of dragon skin. We blended the suit onto the neck and hands with 3rd Degree.
