It has been a long time coming... we went where most go when you have a chance for a quick #adventure... we headed out for the #oregoncoast... #capemeares to be exact. Little did I know, they closed the tillamook access road years ago... we were met with a locked gate and a 2 mile walk to the #lighthouse. We got moving down a beautiful and serene #abandoned stretch of road through the forest.... truly something. There is something powerful about seeing nature begin to reclaim what it lost... Not to mention the actual #coastalvibes at the cape. Yesterday evening we said goodbye to a beloved member of our family. Ten years ago, my mom and I picked up Junior from the shelter, surprising my other mom when we got home. What started as a guilty-pleasure trip to the humane society ended up as ten years of love, caring, and laughter. Named after my nine-year-old self’s obsession with Indiana Jones, Junior brought smiles to our faces every single day up until the day he passed. His most notable moment resulted in him slipping through a hole in the wall that was being worked on - the next morning, I woke up to frantic meows from inside the now sealed wall! I remember showering at the speed of light so I could rescue him from the depths of the house. When he was diagnosed with large-cell lymphoma three months ago, we knew his time was coming to an end. He’s not our oldest cat, which certainly breaks my heart. But we spoiled him with endless tuna and kitten food until the very end. I love you, Junior.
