I honestly was not expecting to be punched in the heart for that ending. God.
Like I remembered that Richard and Jellal did get arrested and that Wendy's guild would disappear but I thought that I would be fine since I've seen it a few times and knew the outcome.
Still ended up in tears though. So that's always fun.

I know this is random but I was looking around the Internet and saw that there is a lot of debate on the age of the dragon slayers(including Laxus and Cobra) I'm just gonna state how old I think they all are because why not.
Natsu Dragneel-
So when we first see him in the first season, I believe he is 19. Obviously he stays this way through the seven year time skip but then after the 1 year gap between tartarous and avatar, he's 20. Then after the one year gap after the alveraz arc, he's 21.
Then if you take away 7 years from 19, you get 12 which is what I believe is the age he was when the dragons "disappeared"
Gajeel Redfox-
Similar to Natsu, I see Gajeel as a 19 year old then the 1 year gap, he's 20 and the second 1 year gap he's 21 (He'll probably be either 22 or still 21 when Levy's kid is born) and like Natsu was 12 when the dragons "disappeared"
Wendy Marvel-
So we know that Wendy was 12 when we first meet her and then is 13 then 14 after the 1 year timeskips. It has also been confirmed(apparently) that Wendy was 5 along with the twin dragons when the dragons "disappeared"
Sting Eucliffe and Rogue Cheney-
I'm grouping these two boys together since their pretty much the same. Both were 19 when we first met them so they were 12 before the timeskip when the series first started and obviously turn 20 and 21 in the 1 year time skips. However unlike the other male dragon slayer(That were raised) they were 5 when their dragons "disappeared" (I can see them being raised together because its cute that they would be raised together)
Laxus Dreyar-
I'd say he's about 23 or 24. I can't tell what age he'd be in some scenarios but I'd say he was about 16 or 17 when Natsu joined which fits because he was a teenager at the time.
Cobra/Erik-
This boy is a bit tricky but I'd say he's about 27 meaning he was 20 before the 7 year time skip. Unfortunately I can't figure out what age he was when he joined the oracion seiz since we don't have this info but going off of what age Erza was and considering Cobra looked to be around the same age we could estimate what age he was.
Since Erza is 19 in the X791 and Cobra is possibly 27, we need to go back to 7 years prior. So when Cobra was 20.
Now we need to figure out how many years to take off. Erza joined before Natsu which we know from both the manga/anime and a side manga about Gray where its shown in the end that Natsu joined after Gray and Gray was there when Erza joined so she was in the middle of the three.
So if we assume its about 7 or 8 years then we can assume that Cobra was about 12 or 13 at this time.
That's all I have. Hope you enjoyed.

Notes and comments from rewatching Oracion seiz Part 1 (Episodes 52 and 53
Mira just being so casual when saying "Oh welcome back master after he just announced they would need to fight the Seiz is great.
I didn't actually realize it was canon Cobra wore earrings. I thought that was fanon that I was making true in my head(That happens a lot). That's awesome
Also wasn't Gray on the list of hottest male mages after the time skip? What is so different now in this arc compared to then for both Natsu and Gray to not be on the list? Like Gray didn't change at all between the skip so I don't get why he isn't there.
I usually don't mind Ichiya but he is really bugging me with the fact he keeps violating Erza's personal space when she's very clearly showing through body language and words that she isn't interested and doesn't want him touching her.
The fact that this dark menacing music plays when Lyon shows up and he's having a stare off with Gray, meanwhile Natsu is just smiling all happy to find out Lyon actually joined a guild is so precious.
Almost everyone here is just having beef with each other. Like damn, you guys are supposed to be fighting the seiz not each other.
Jura being the voice of reason. Good work my guy.
Everyone just being like 'Wait a child?' when Wendy shows up meanwhile I'm here knowing that 1. She's a dragon slayer and healer so very strong and useful and 2. One of only 2 living members of cait shelter.
The fact this is the only time any of the slayers show any form of recognition for each other in the slightest. Like Gajeel doesn't have a similar reaction to Wendy later and none of them to Sting or Rogue.
I honestly like how Wendy's current outfit because not only does it have resemblance to Grandeeney but it just hints to her being a sky mage just enough, similar to Gajeel having the metal on his shirt, gloves and boots. A hint to their magic while still blending into their designs.
Can the tri men not simp over the 12 year old. Like come on guys, find something to say that isn't complementing on how pretty and cute she is.
Jura is great. He has literally no reaction to Wendy at all. One of the only few not surprised that Wendy was both a child and a girl(something that irks me when both Mira and Erza exist)
Sherry having beef with Carla because she called Gaudy is great.
God dammit, the trimen are flirting with Carla too. Good gravy
Poor Wendy talking down on herself when its literally canon that all slayers are just op as fuck. Like even if she doesn't have combat experience, when paired with other slayers, she does a damn good job with fighting. Like pair her with Natsu or Gajeel on a team and you've got a powerful team going. Putting all four fairy tail slayers on a team would be even better because you've got both Gajeel and Laxus who can do both melee and ranged, Natsu who has mostly melee attacks and Wendy who both has melee, a couple ranged and support magic to boost the others with, you've got a powerhouse going.
Carla does have a point in saying Wendy needs to have more confidence and I love that she actually does get more confidence as she builds up her techniques and magic. She has the most confidence when fighting alongside someone like Edolus where she fights with Natsu and Gajeel, she is extremly confident there and by GMG she has the confidence in herself to hold her own in the fight against Shellia. That was the arc Wendy deserved, not her constantly comparing herself to other girls who are a lot older.
Carla just saying Wendy will drive her to catnip like its some drug or alcohol. I can't
Jura and Ichiya noticing that Wendy doesn't use just any old magic because of her signature leads me to question why they didn't notice that it bares resemblance to Natsu's. But it does further prove that slayer magic is a very powerful subclass of magic.
I honestly don't blame Natsu for forgetting who Wendy is because he literally had his memories altered by the magic of the eclipse gate. No wonder he's pressing on it so hard, its been hidden away by magic.
Ok further confusion with map things being, they literally refer to it as Worth Woodsea in its first official appearance. It is never refered to by the name on the official map once. I don't know if it was perhaps changed later on or something but its so weird.
Cobra is literally fucking smiling at the camera in the picture that Hibiki uses of him. Its like 'oh I'm getting my photo taken? Better look extra sinister or they'll think bad of me'
Also he's just called the snake wizard because he has a snake or his name right? Is it that unbelievable that he could just really like snakes and not have any magic that involves them? Like criminals can like animals and have pets too ya know. They don't always have to be horrible pet owners. Cobra clearly isn't.
Is Midnight really an odd name? Its not common but I don't think its odd either. Its one of the more name like names of the seiz. Especially when you have Hoteye and Racer which no one in their right mind would (hopefully) name a child that.
I actually like the pair system they went with because it is a good idea. Strategy is something that was heavily relied on for Racer, Midnight and Cobra's fights because attacking them head on isn't a valid option because of their magic.
The way Gemini speaks of Makarov makes it sound like they know a lot about him. Its kinda interesting to be honest
Trying to decide if Natsu wanting a Christina is a good or bad thing tbh.
If there's one good thing about the seiz its that they're exceedingly dramatic.
I have never heard someone use the word frosty when telling people to stay alert and now I can't get over the idea that Gray makes ice and cold related puns.
I love how there is something that Midnight holds that just makes wind chime noises. Its great.
Ok so how physically strong is Cobra. Because in some scenes it looks like Cubelious has her full weight on him and he's carrying her but in others it looks almost like she's floating. And Cobra is one of the only dragon slayers in the main series who doesn't have prominent muscles aside from Wendy. And we never see him shirtless so we can't say whether he is secretly ripped or not like with Rogue. So I'm genuinely curious behind this. Is he just secretly strong from always carrying Cubelious or does she use magic to help with that since she is cursed and would be able to use magic since Kinana does learn magic during the 1 year time skip.
I love how Cobra always says "I can hear it" or a variation of it with his sentences like its some kind of scare tactic to get people to fear him.
The fact both Cobra and Racer don't want to listen to Hoteye talk about money makes me believe that they have to listen to that on a regular basis. Especially Cobra if its one of the only things Hoteye thinks about.
To be fair on Lucy, I'd probably be terrified of a guy that's supposed to be super powerful and he didn't even bother to get up from bed too.
Fuck yeah the Oracion seiz ost. I love it. Its such a bop not gonna lie.
Cobra asking if Gray and Natsu need an invitation to fight just satisfies my "he's a sassy bitch" headcanon and I love it.
I love how they up the smoothness of the animation for the fights Like it looks so good. That one scene where Lyon takes a step and his foot melts down into mud is so satisfying to watch.
The trimen getting taken out just seems like their fault since they were too busy fighting over Angel.
Some of these angles are cool. Like the one on Cobra when he comments on Erza's requip where Cubelious' head looks a lot bigger because its closer to the camera. Also I am just filling my phone with pictures of Cobra for refs and such at this point.
The way Cobra just moves ever so slightly and avoids the swords looks great. Like they give it a slight blur when he's moving.
I am honestly unsure if Racer saying "I like fast women" is supposed to be a sex joke or not. Cause on one hand, it obviously fits with him being able to slow others down but the way its phrased and said makes me think its supposed to be a sex joke. I don't know.
I love the art for when Cobra gets behind Erza and how she's highlighted blue while Cobra is shrouded in black with a glowing red eye. Gives very sinister intentions.
This fight reminded me how Cobra can actually hold his own in a fight without Cubelious attacking or using his dragon slayer magic. He gives Erza a good kick to the stomach that is clearly shown to be a strong hit. He's one of the few slayers who has been shown to not relay constantly on their dragon magic (Laxus is the other but he still uses magic a lot to cover his hits, Cobra only uses his ears to give him an advantage) its probably done this way because they wanted Cobra being a slayer to be a surprise for when he fights Natsu but it leans into my theory that 2nd gens are technically stronger than 1st or at least Natsu. (He never beat Laxus or Cobra. Gajeel's hard to judge since we never see him fight Cobra and he had a disadvantage against Laxus by types although canon Gajeel is on par with Natsu so I'd say he'd be outmatched)
I just found an example of where it looks like Cubelious is floating around Cobra not wrapped around him. Also I'm pretty sure she got longer. Like here's actual visual examples I took.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ignore the quality, my playstation won't let me screenshot my own dvd so I had to use my phone for the photos.
So from what I can gather, Midnight's magic is kind of like Cobra's in where unless its blocked or sealed then its constantly active even when he's asleep. At least he knows he can't be stabbed in the middle of the night.
Brain just standing to the side like "Ah yes. The screams of teenagers. What a lovely sound" (Because everyone in this fight aren't even 21. Only Ichiya and Jura were above that age and they aren't participating and since we know the seiz members are around Erza's age, literally no one here aside from Brain are above 21. (And possibly Hoteye since he's the older one) Only Ren and Hibiki are 20 while everyone else is between 19 to 16 (Wendy, Happy and Carla being even lower)
Ok so Brain seems quite impressed by Erza so I'm curious if would have tried to recruit her like he did Natsu. Cause clearly he's looking for strong mages and I could believe that he'd know Erza was from the tower if Jellal or someone else he'd scouted out had ever mentioned her. (Erik might have heard about Erza or something similar)
I love how Cobra describes everything he hears as a symphony. Its an interesting way to look at someone being able to hear everything about a person.
Ok so Cobra wasn't aware Erza was from the tower before which could be that he just doesn't recognise her now that she's older or because he never physically saw her but I love the detail of him jumping back and looking shocked because that place was just as bad for him as it was for her and he's now seeing someone who came from the same background but didn't fall to evil. Perfect to use for a redemption arc with Cobra where he starts to rethink his choices now that he knows someone else who went through the same torture and pain didn't turn to killing people.
Continuing on that point with how he drops his guard and says "You were there" which is the first foreshadowing to where the seiz really come from because of the wording alone. He doesn't say "You were tortured" or "You were enslaved" he says there, showing a sense of recognition and familiarity towards a place the audience have learned was a horrible part of Erza's past and its put in naturally. Its not just Erza word vomiting her past. Its her trying to use her bad memories to get an opening in the fight. Cobra was already listening to her thoughts to predict her moves so of course he would pick up on it. This is the kind of character work I love, hinting to things in ways that make sense. This entire situation was a tactic to strike Cobra not some sappy moment. And of course Cobra would let his guard down, he hasn't come to terms with that part of his life yet. He still holds anger and resentment towards the people who did that to him (And possibly Zeref because there has to be a reason why the seiz are the only balam alliance that never do any evil schemes that have any relation to Zeref what so ever) so seeing someone else's experience probably brought up his own memories of how he was treated and perhaps even how he ended up there in the first place (Its never stated but I doubt Cobra was also an orphan before being taken. I personally like to believe he had to watch his parents be slaughtered right in front of him before being taken away but that's just my headcanon)
Also the fact that Cobra isn't the one to defend himself against Erza, its Hoteye. Cobra has clearly had his guard dropped. He's stunned and lost his confident mask. If he hadn't been protected then I wouldn't be surprised if Erza actually hit a strike on him unless Cubelious protected her friend.
Also also, Racer says "Pick up the pace" to Cobra. They clearly don't know what just happened. They just know that he suddenly jumped back and let his guard drop. To them, they probably thing he's slacking or something similar, not baring witness to someone else's traumatic events that mirror his own. And I wouldn't be surprised if frustration from Racer's ridicule and anger about what he just witnessed is why he orders Cubelious to attack. Because he was doing fine on his own against Erza, he even caught her swords. But instead he sends his snake to poison her instead.
Okay at this point I'm just going to agree with Pencilofawesomeness' concept from their papalogia story that Cubelious can just change her size because now she's 3x taller than Cobra after biting Erza.
What is it with dragon slayer villians doing crazy facial expressions. Cobra keeps having one eye widened while the other narrowed (Which I doubt this is actually the case but it is kinda like foreshadowing since the narrowed eye is the one he gives up later in the KOTSH arc. He also does wide smirks which are great fun to watch. This man is a sassy bitch if I ever do see one.
I don't think they ever established how Brain knew about Wendy. Because he says her name and seems shocked to see her but I don't recall ever having a moment where he admits to how he knows who she is (At least I unintentionally gave a reason for how he'd know in the au with the whole pack stuff and such) If I'm proven wrong later after a proper refresher than I will definitely make a note of that

Looks like I'll be delving back in to binge the Oracion seiz arc tomorrow since I don't need to go to college as I just have my animation to do.
Probably won't finish the full arc but I might surprise myself.
Might make a list of fun wee details and things I think of during the watch. Expect some kind of post about Midnight and/or Cobra because those two are my favs

A small wee note of the non human characters in the au, including hybrids and excluding exceeds since that ones a given.
Gajeel- The most obvious considering his hybrid nature is integral to the story itself but he is half dragon half human
Freed- I've discussed this before and literally shared my design for this and if you've read the oracion seiz arc then you'd know I had that conversation between him and Laxus but he is half demon half human
Ivan- He is half elf, half human
Laxus - By extension, Laxus is about a quarter elf which is where the points to his ears came from (Something mentioned in the revenge arc)
Cobra/Erik- He's an elf, something I think a large portion of the fanbase agrees on (Might be wrong but I've seen it in a few fics)
Natsu- Its literally canon he's part demon so of course he is
Kinana- I like to imagine that once she's turned back to human, her dna is slightly altered so she still has a few quirks from being cubellious. Not quite non human but close enough.
(There may be more later on. This is just who I could remember of the top of my head)

Spoilers for 100 years quest so uh. You've been warned.
Ok so I was looking for those old character refs that Mashima used to put in chapters that had name, age, magic, likes and dislikes and I couldn't find Rogue's for some reason so I ended up on TVTropes and started looking through the characters and ended up on Laxus.
So now I'm hysterical because what the actual fuck.
I was aware that he removed his lacrima as I'd seen the picture floating around but first of all, the guy full on ripped it out himself.
Obviously it meant he wouldn't die since his opponent was trying to kill him if he didn't do that but that had to hurt like a bitch.
But also he ate Alexion's soul to get his slaying abilities back.
So he isn't second gen any more because he doesn't have a lacrima anymore and he isn't 1st or 3rd since he wasn't trained by Alexion. He isn't fourth since they weren't human, they were machines given dragon slayer properties(Dragon cry) and he isn't 5th because he didn't physically eat the flesh of a dragon, just the soul.
So does that make Laxus a new 6th generation of dragon slayer. And is Alexion's soul actually dead or will this be like Wendy with Irene and Laxus is just gonna have this dragon talking to him randomly.
Also also, is Laxus now the lightning dragon king like how Natsu was given the mantel by Igneel or does Kiren hold that title as he was the one to kill Alexion.
Its implied that dragon titles are passed on to the ones that kill them as Acnologia killed to get his title and then said that Natsu would be the next king or he'd make a good king or something that I don't remember exactly. So does it apply to dragon eaters as well since they are dragon slayers.
I am still hopeful that Cobra, Sting and Rogue will show up (Probably unlikely as they have no reason to be in another country at this point in time since he isn't in Fairy tail and that's the reason Gajeel and Laxus were able to pop in and get so much attention (I mean backstory for Laxus' lacrima and him becoming a new generation and Gajeel fighting God Serena (even if it isn't him) is pretty good all things considered) but I really want them to appear because they also have lacrima so it would be cool to get maybe one more case of a dragon eater causing a lacrima to exist or even just get more info on the dragons that their lacrimas came from (because it is also now canon that the souls do cry out for their hearts so there is at least 3 other dragon souls out their trying to find their hearts if they haven't faded by then) and I just really want more screen time for them. Firstly I love Rogue's new outfit and want to see more, second I want to make fun of Sting's because his fashion sense is awful, third I am desperate for more canon Cobra content because he is used so little and it disheartens me (Cobra has had the oracion seiz and Kotsh arcs to be a villian, the dragon king festival to be a reluctant ally(non-perma death included), the tartarous arc to change his tune(even if Jellal giving them no choice but to listen to him or they go back to prison makes me feel uncomfortable. Just let them be free at last dammit), the Alveraz arc (which we don't get to see him fight August just that sorcier lost) and half of the Rhodonite spin off manga (Which some if not a majority of people haven't even read the three spin offs and if you haven't then you should because they are amazing and hilarious and I wish they made one for Cobra because the potential that was their because all three of the books had two stories so one could focus on his time in the seiz or a short section about his reflection in prison or something and the other his time in crime Sorciere as they all have at least 1 story set during Fairy tail's disbandment) so if we got more Cobra screentime I would cry and sing to the skies.
Besides, if we don't get anything about their lacrimas then no one is stopping me from doing it myself. (I'm still debating if I want to do a sequel when I'm finished 'the bringer of death and the apocolypse' that follows 100 year quest although I have thought about it and have a few ideas because I have in fact planned how this story ends roughly, just a couple things that may change between then and now) After all, every dragon slayer is prominent in this au........ eventually
Well I went on a real long tangent here. Oops. I wasn't joking when I said I have no one to talk to about this because the like 3 friends I have either aren't interested in the series or don't want to put in so much time to watch over 300 episodes.

The Oracion seiz arc is now up. It spans over chapters 37 to 48.
I had a lot of fun writing this one and I'm a lot happier with how I handled Cobra and Gajeel in this arc compared to the original version. The editing took me almost 4 hours for how beefy this was at nearly 30,000 words and 71 pages. This fic is going to be at like 500,000 by the time I'm done the rewrite at this rate.

And Chapter 44 is now finished.
Only 4 planned out chapters left (Unless any get added) and It'll be editing time.
Now I'm going to go watch the rest of the oracion seiz arc while doing my college animation

Haha, when you look back on your work and go "wow. This sucks"
Cause I really am not that proud of some of the stuff in the original Bodata. Like god.
Like the original phantom had Stockholm syndrome.
Battle of Fairy tail just had Laxus being weird and completely all over the place with attacking Gajeel because if he didn't he'd look bad or something I dunno.
The recovery arc has Gajeel essentially cheating on Natsu by accident.
The Silas arc is just disgusting and I hate that I wrote that one chapter that I do not want to name.
Oracion seiz has both Erza and Gray out of character and Cobra is less sassy than I think I realised.
Edolus just kinda drowned a quarter of the way in and just never had the potential I had in mind.
The Eilian arc starts out good, a little wonky then ends with the weirdest spit ever.
Tenrou is kinda all over and slightly OOC for Cobra and Laxus.
The Home arc and the 7 year gap arc(what exists of it) are definitely my favourites probably because they are the most consistent in tone. Although there is a lot of time jumping with nothing inbetween that I hope to fix a little bit with the rewrite. Also the two arcs that I plan to change the least I'd say.
At the very least OG was a good experience and definitely helped improve my writing. It's why I have a PDF version of all the old chapters saved to my phone. So I can look back on my old work.
Also funnily, I looked at it and after editing only 14 chapters I have went from 265 pages for the 108 chapters to 302. With each new chapter averaging at around 4 or 5 pages in length while the original was lucky to get 2 per chapter. Definitely improved that's for sure.

So while working on the map, I noticed something.
The forest close to where Cait shelter sits is called Wass forest on the map but there is no mention of that name anywhere that I can find and from both the geography and how the Oracion seiz arc was located pretty close to Cait Shelter it seems that the forest itself was renamed to Worth woodsea. Its odd but since I can't find any trace of a Wass forest, I just renamed it to Worth woodsea on the map for consistency's sake.

Haha Surprise. I actually got 2 chapters done. Now I'm go finish watching the oracion seiz arc so I can write the rest of the arc.

I know it's taking forever for me to get the first chapter of Oracion seiz arc done but I have been working on it. It's just a really bulky chapter cause it has, an original scene at the beginning, the carriage ride to the Blue Pegasus building, the introduction of the group and the information about the seiz in it.
Hopefully the following chapter which is the first fight doesn't take as long to write.

Ok I'm going to do a bit of chapter swapping and transferring Chapter 37 and 38 over to the Oracion seiz arc because I really don't know what else to put in those chapters since a lot of the other important side stuff requires characters from Oracion seiz and/or Edolus in order to actually be done and I don't want to put every bonding point in the same section.
So I'm going to finish 36 and then start editing.

I just rewatched the fight between Jellal and the Seiz in the tartaros arc and while I knew it was kinda dumb, I now realise how stupid it actually is.
First of all, Jellal shouldn't be able to outpace Racer without using any magic when he's that close.
Second, I refuse to believe he was able to catch Cobra's fist that was coated in poison with absolutely no damage what so ever when its been established what his poison can actually do.
I couldn't tell quite tell if he used magic to deflect Sorano's attack which if he did then that at least makes a little sense when it was the small ones she'd summoned.
But why did Midnight just stand on the side and do barely anything. They didn't loose their original magic over the 7 year gap so why couldn't he control the space surrounding Jellal like he did in his fight against Erza? It would make it easier if they had Jellal trapped in his own clothes since he can't requip new ones like Erza did.
Also also, when Midnight does his nightmare, the rest of the seiz are shocked. But why is Cobra? I get perhaps when zero "wakes up" he's shocked that his attack didn't kill Brain because he was focused on Jellal but even if we disregard the fact that Midnight's eyes glow to they were all in the nightmare, not just Jellal. Surely Cobra would have heard something right? Even if not Midnight's thoughts because of his magic, he surely could have heard Jellal's thoughts or his heartbeat and breathing? Or the movement of his clothes when he's reaching to cut his eyes. Cobra's hearing is above and beyond even the other dragon slayers. He can hear everything in a pretty wide radius.
And the fact he never once used that sonic attack he has to turn the noise around him into an attack. Which would be useful, especially since there was a lot of noise with the fight.
And the fact they all got taken down by Sema and that's it. Jellal was getting his ass handed to him before that. He barely did any damage to them outside of the beginning and then when he used Heavenly body. And they all just stood and took it instead of I dunno, moving.
Like when the Seiz were taken out in the Oracion seiz arc it made sense because despite having strong magic, each one also had a weakness.
Racer wasn't going faster just slowing everything else so Lyon put Gray up at a distance so that he could get the advantage.
Angel had strong spirits but didn't have any physical defence without them so got taken out by a very powerful attack.
Midnight couldn't control the space around himself and his opponent at the same time so Erza used that to her advantage.
And Cobra's hearing was so good that Natsu's roar disorientated him long enough for Brain to take him out.
It made sense. And Midnight had defeated Jellal prior and all four had massive power boosts recently. If Meredy had been in the fight and perhaps a third party then I could buy the win because they wouldn't all be able to focus their attacks on the one person other than Angel and Cobra who could summon lots of angels and use a roar respectively.
And also, Jellal isn't even that strong. He lost to dragon force Natsu who lost to Cobra. Even in Dragon force, Natsu would not have won against Cobra because he wouldn't have been able to land a hit. Cobra wasn't taken out by Natsu. Natsu lost that fight.
And we've seen just how strong 2nd gen dragon slayers can be with Laxus, Cobra and God Serena. Especially when you take into account that both Laxus and Cobra have other magic outside of their dragon lacrimas (Like why did the other five not do something similar. Would be very handy)
I just can't believe that would be possible for Jellal on his own.

That's an interesting perspective. Especially seeing as a lot of the members of Fairy tail will have people who want to take them down. It's probably not uncommon for big bads to go after mages in guilds because that person has done something to wrong them. The thunder legion(especially Freed) have a very well known branding and both Juvia and Gajeel have confirmed that they've taken out branches of Guilds that took orders from the Oracion seiz. It's part of the job but it puts them at high risk.
Whether Laxus was training or not isn't entirely confirmed although he had to be doing something to get money.
I do like the idea that a couple of them felt his absence, after all some of them will remember Laxus from when he was a child with how long they've been in the guild. And it would sting harder knowing that they're grieving the loss of the people they've known for years and alongside them knowing nothing about Laxus.
The guild already had to say goodbye to Mystogan (who although they didn't know well was a presence) only a short time before the S-class trials (The harvest festival is the middle of October and the S-class trials early December and between them is the Oracion seiz arc and the Edolus arc) and had to see Laxus leave only a little bit before that only for an even bigger chunk of their guild mates to just disappear from existence.
Laxus is the only one they could theoretically reach out to seeing as they wouldn't be able to reach Mystogan but don't hear anything from him.
I do wish they'd mentioned something about not being able to contact Laxus and that they thought he might be dead or avoiding the guild at some point rather than just showing a painting Reedus did amongst the others like they knew he was on Tenrou with the others. It would just be something nice to see really.
In regards to the tenrou arc right, when the island gets bubbled, no one outside of the island knew Laxus was there except Hades(who was killed by Zeref before the island disappeared. So what did everyone else think?
Like did they try contacting him and just never understood why Laxus wouldn't show up. They thought they were dead so there had to have been funerals so did none of them question why Laxus didn't come to say a final goodbye to Makarov or the thunder legion.
Did none of them find it suspicious that no one had actually seen him for 7 years? Not even a glimpse by some random. He would have gone through towns at some point for food and such so what did they think he was doing?

I am 100% going to just go on rants here because I don't know anyone who has/will watch this show and I've been obsessed with it for years.
But the Acnologia battle. I kinda just find it funny.
Alveraz is probably one of my least fav arcs. Sort of a mix of too many fake out deaths (I can forgive Gajeel's since demon portal and Juvia's is stretching but Makarov's was absolutely just for sad points. Like he was dead for chapters and then he's just back) which absolutely destroyed some of the tension for me and how certain characters just didn't get as much spotlight as I would have liked (*cough* Sabertooth, Oracion seiz and Thunder legion *cough*) also the anime totally skimped on the blood in Larcad and Sting's fight which had me booing at the TV when I watched it.
But the final fight. I think it's good, showing that they can barely even land a scratch on this guy who is way out of their depth is shown perfectly.
I'm not even mad about the power of friendship ending, I just stand by that I would have loved that they all pitch in like a roar or a secret art (perfect opportunity to have Rogue and Cobra use one for the first time)
I have always been confused why they never tried stronger spells though. Like I get conserve power and such but like. You aren't going to use secret arts? Gajeel never used his scales which baffles me because surely that would be a smart decision since it's wildly known that his scales, although affected by other dragon slayers, can at least lower the damage he takes. And why did Sting and Rogue never activate dragon force or use their unison raid. Like this is the guy who wants to kill you and you don't at least try these things once?
I also like the theory that Acno just at that moment destabilised due to the dragon slayers not giving him the power to remain stable but like, why did his body desigrate as well?
Like his soul makes sense but his body? Was that just a weird way of getting around having a giant dragon corpse? Or do all dragons just disintegrate upon death. Or no sorry, that doesn't make sense either because dragon eaters and dragon bones both exist and Laxus and Cobra literally have dragon hearts inside them. Plus Irene didn't disintegrate. The only other dragons that did were the training 5 and that makes sense because they were nothing but souls ripped from their bodies at that point.
I even have a work around for this if you don't want a giant dragon body laying around. Just make it canon that dragon slayers who became dragons revert to their human form upon death. Irene died looking like a human but it's also canon they use magic to transform so you'd think she'd change back but nah, she stays human.
Funny how my biggest problem here is the technique that the slayers used and how Acno just self destructs in the real world. Nothing with the ending or anything.
I don't know if there is anything I've missed since I am doing my best to catch up on 100 year quest. I dropped off around the middle of the whole Alderon part because I just kinda got bored of Team Natsu. I don't hate them but just... I like other characters more. Sorry to Natsu but he's at the bottom of my list of the seven. But then I saw Laxus and Gajeel get brought in and we get Laxus lacrima stuff so I've been trying to catch up to see that. Also God Serena Vs Gajeel sounds awesome like I wanna see that. But if I got anything from that wrong then that's why.
