miscellaneous fairy tail headcanons that I came up with while writing my ridiculously long fic pt.2

♡ cana, gray, and loke are a little trio in fairy tail. after the grand magic games, sting gets added to their group. they all meet up after jobs to get drinks and gossip.

♡ laxus's favorite drink is apple cider. he's never told anyone but somehow they all know. if he's having a bad day, mira will slide him a mug of steaming cider with a cinnamon stick in it. laxus does not tear up, there was just dust in his eye.

♡ jellal and pantherlily are both tea enthusiasts. they've argued soooo much about different teas. they've both yet to discover that rufus is also a tea buff.

♡ laxus has sneezed in an onsen before and almost electrocuted everyone. cana never lets it go.

♡ while sneaking around mercurius, meredy runs into hisui. the fiesty princess yells at her, but her curiosity wins out and she doesn't arrest meredy. they become fast friends and write each other letters.

♡ I consider hisui to be pretty young, maybe 14/16 when the grand magic games happen. as such, she's often overlooked by her advisors and even her father. no one takes her seriously, and it's so frustrating.

♡ sorcerer weekly releases a "top 10 ships" list every year. it's almost always well-known guild mages. jenny's won top spot for three years in a row now (with different partners each time, though).

Sabertooth Guild Week initial interest check

I want to do a Sabertooth week.

Sabertooth Headcanons:

Sting purposefully tells stories wrong just to piss off Rufus. When Rufus corrects him, he doubles down and it drives Rufus absolutely nuts

Minerva fully convinced Yukino that holy water can kill her as a joke. Yukino won't even let Minerva walk past a church now

Whenever anyone needs Rogue's help with something, they send Frosch to ask him knowing it will increase the odds of him agreeing

Orga and Laxus don't know each other well, but if you ask Orga he will tell you they are best friends

"Hey remember when you slapped me, Yukino?" is said at least once a week, quickly followed by "Don't make me do it again" and then the sound of Sting running

Sorano and Rufus started a book club. They didn't think many people would be interested, but almost half of Sabertooth is in it

If a shadow looks suspicious, Sabertooth assumes it's Rogue. He can't tell you how many times he's walked in on guild members talking to their own shadows like lunatics

Character illustration of Juvia. She got the outfit after a certain someone gifted her a hat he won as a consolation prize from Rufus 😏. I always thought it was a bit suspicious Gray took Rufus's hat just for posing for the GMG audience, and Juvia has a thing for hats.

Also small rant

I hate when people say that Mashima basically made Sabertooth’s team a copy of Fairy Tail b/c in my opinion, I think they were made to reflect Fairy Tail. What would’ve happened if Fairy Tail went down a more power hungry path?

Not to mention, after they redeemed themselves, the most thing that they have most in common with those Fairy Tail members is maybe their appearance and magic. That’s all. In my opinion, their personalities are nothing alike, really.

Like Sting is much more clever and responsible then Natsu (not bashing on Natsu, he has his good qualities, obviously).

Rogue is much more brooding and less emotional than Gajeel.

Orga is much more… how do I say… dense… than Laxus is. I also feel like he’d he much more outgoing as well. And more goofy.

Yukino is much more softspoken than Lucy is.

And finally, I think Rufus is nothing like Freed except maybe appearance wise. Other than that, Rufus is much more snarky, cocky, and honestly more outgoing. I mean sure, they’re both quite perceptive, and elegant in their demeanor. But I think that’s as far as it goes.

Some FT headcanons I have that I just wanna share

Freed is a hybrid, half human, half demon. He has pointed ears, his hidden eye is permanently purple and he has sharp teeth, small horns and a tail among a couple other things. He is well practised in keeping his features hidden. Its only when using his Dark ecriture that the spell's control slips.

Laxus has elven heritage from his father. The genes come from his grandmother's side. He also has heterochromia, one eye matching his father (the scarred eye), very slight pointed tips to his ears and a black streak in his hair. He started covering these up in his teenage years after he kept getting compared to his father. He dies the streak to match the rest of his hair and uses concealing magic to hide his ears and eye.

All of the OG dragon slayers know some form of ancient language. They aren't as versed in them as Levy, Freed or Rufus (Especially Wendy, Sting and Rogue) but they know enough to be able to hold a conversation with each other. They all know at least one with a few of them knowing two as they came from different countries with different languages.

Rufus is very short. He uses heeled boots with padding inside to make himself appear taller. Whenever he isn't wearing his boots, everyone is shocked that he is actually really short. This is one thing he doesn't like about himself because of how his mother treated him as a child.

Rogue's hyperfixation is frogs. He knows practically everything there is to know about them. He also has lots of frog items hidden in his room. When he was with Skiadrum, the dragon sometimes lost Rogue only to find him at a frog pond petting one of them. He is also incredibly tall, only an inch or two shorter than Gajeel.

Totomaru has a very large family that runs a big business back in his home country. He was born with the ability to control fire, although it took a while to surface and his parents were not happy because he was supposed to become a part of the business, not learn magic. He still started learning fire magic and around the age of 8 to 9, he stole some money from his parents and ran away to Fiore where Jose found him and brought him into the guild. He refuses to get back in contact with his parents, even when he becomes a successful mage in Fiore.

I might share some more of these in the future if I feel like it.

sabertooth headcanons pt. 1

I feel like mashima could've made sabertooth just a smidge less flat... they all had so much angst in them and the potential to evolve and grow as people... or they could all turn nice in the span of an episode. that works too.

♡ sting is a sweetheart. he's a genuine, caring, and kind boy who grows up to be a charming and earnest young man. that is, unless he's on the battlefield. old sabertooth sting makes an appearance in those moments. his smirk is cruel, his taunts are like daggers, jabbing away at the opponent. he's cocky and arrogant, and maybe he has the right to be so because his attacks are so powerful they blow the enemy away.

♡ lector is the kind of friend who talks major shit about whatever you're doing as he's helping you. he tells sting how dumb it is to go on a mission alone in mid-flight to their destination. ride or die? nah, lector is fly or die.

♡ rufus loves tea brewing. this is one of the few areas of knowledge that he chooses not to use his magic on. he loves sitting down with a good book and reading about the history of tea, tea cultivation, the proper culinary techniques to brew the perfect cup of tea.

♡ orga is the reason sabertooth has open-mic nights. the (second) strongest guild in fiore turns into a comedy club on tuesday nights, and surprisingly, it's good. orga serenades whoever comes to mind that night: it's been sting, rogue, yukino, all the usual suspects, and on one memorable occasion, mr. yajima. yukino tells the most wholesome, funny stories while frosch and lector act out the scene behind her. in what was probably the most fever dream moment of sting's life, minerva took the mic and delivered such a seething, deadpan stand-up that she got the entire guild cheering for her.

♡ minerva goes all out for halloween. besides just being into arcane magic and the history of magic, she loves spooky things. also, she's a bit fucked up, and this is a good outlet for her. sabertooth will gladly take minerva's scarily detailed sculptures of severed limbs over her lashing out any day of the week. to her guildmates' surprise, she also organizes a family-friendly haunted house in the guild hall for the kids of gazania.

♡ in my heart of hearts, sting does not become sabertooth's guild master. I headcanon him as a healer, so I think he would establish an infirmary in sabertooth and oversee it. unsure if rogue or minerva becomes guild master. I think minerva would be better suited for the role, but there's also recency bias against her because of jiemma. and she needs time to process everything that went into sabertooth's upheaval.

♡ which sabertooth member do you never want to piss off? you might think it's minerva or rufus or even the twin dragons. no. it's yukino. she is the sweetest, kindest member of sabertooth by far, and also the most patient. if you offend yukino, she's unlikely to do much about it, but celestials forbid you hurt her friends, especially minerva. she'll send her spirits after you, and no one will ever find your body.

♡ sabertooth, despite their efforts to become a kinder place, is still a hard guild to get into. they're not like fairy tail where anyone can just join. the core members argue for a long while about what kind of entrance test they should have. ultimately they decide on a test of strength, but not just physical ability. minerva says that it's in the eyes, whether someone has the drive and tenacity to always improve themselves and make sabertooth proud. she tries to be subtle, but she's also staring at yukino the entire time. one eyebrow wiggle from lector turns minerva as red as the cat's fur.

Hey so let's do another family. Okay so I don't think this one is particularly a rarepair as such, I could very well be mistaken though, I haven't seen a whole lot of content for them.

Either way this is another Sabertooth family, I think there's only one more after this then we'll be done with the Sabertooth kids.

The Lore Family

There are many things Rufus remembers and there are many things he wished he could forget. Much like his first marriage. It ended with the revelation that she was only with him for his fame but had no interest in guild life or being the wife of a guild wizard. That and finding out how many other people she had been seeing behind his back.

Following his break up he had found comfort in his guild members and more specifically fellow guildmate Orga. While many people outside of Sabertooth saw the god slayer as a dimwitted brute. Rufus saw his softer side as the man practically dragged him back to life following his divorce. Despite teasing from the guild the two are in no rush to take things any further than they have done.

If there is one good thing that came out of Rufus' marriage it was his only son...

Vidian Lore

Vidian spent much of his early childhood with his mother, a time he would readily forget the moment he could. She was all too ready to be rid of him however when Vidian's magic manifested at the age of 7. From then on he grew up within the Sabertooth guild hall with his father. Vidian let much more about what his father did and how guilds worked and became enraptured by it all.

He was at first unsure of Orga when Rufus first introduced the two, but has since become attached to the man, often calling him dad whenever he wants something from the god slayer. Vidian even went so far as to learn lightning magic just to impress him, and in the process learned that he had an affinity for it.

Rufus Lore: Hogwarts AU

Rufus Lore is a Pureblood wizard that was born on the 4th of March 1985 and started attending Hogwarts on the 1st of September 1996, being sorted into Ravenclaw house.

He grew up as an orphan at the Fairy Tail Orphanage and was one of the adopted children of Jiemma Orland, who abused all of them while making them compete with each other over his seat in the Wizengamot.

Due to him being the number one candidate of winning the competition, he was treated a little better than the others but he was still heavily abused.

After Jiemma was finally arrested, they returned to the Fairy Tail Orphanage along with Jiemma's biological daughter Minerva and started over but despite his trauma, Rufus started working for the Ministry of Magic in the Magical Law Department to make sure that no child went through what he did.

He eventually got married to Orga Nanagear but due to the trauma of their abusive childhood, neither of them trusted themselves with children so they never had any but they were amazing uncles to their friends' kids.

He has a Beech wand with a Dragon Heartstring Core.

His Patronus is a Akhal-Teke Horse.

His favorite subjects are History of Magic and Transfiguration.

His least favorite subjects are Defense Against the Dark Arts and Herbology.
