It was a shit mission. That was the easiest way to put it. The not so easy way was them finding out someone had either given them bad info or their information got leaked.

Whatever the actual reason was, it ended with Mac being in enemy hands for more than a few hours, and in a pretty roughed up shape when Jack and the tac team had found him. Drugged to high hell, and barely able to form coherent sentences, but conscious enough to realize that he was currently being rescued and not being subjected to more torture.

“I gotcha bud. We’re gonna get outta here.”

“Knew you’d come.”

The ride back was less than pleasant. Mac losing consciousness momentarily and waking suddenly seemed to erase all previous knowledge of him being in safe company.

He fought against the hands of the medics trying to hold him, keeping him from injuring himself, and Jack’s heart shattered as Mac started to call for him.

Jack called for the medics to hold off for a moment, and he placed himself fully in Mac’s view.

“Ya gotta calm down bud, before ya hurt yerself.”

To his credit, Mac did calm slightly, but still fought against Jack’s hold.

“Yer safe Mac. We’re ridin back to the Phoenix to get ya checked out.”

Mac’s eyes settled on Jack, coming to a state of temporary understanding consciousness.

“Yer safe. I’m not gonna let anythin happen to ya.”

Mac’s breathing calmed and he nodded, but didn’t release the hold he had on Jack’s wrist.

“Yer gonna be alright kid. I ain’t goin anywhere.”

One of the most insane corporate decisions in entertainment media ever in my opinion is still Hasbro doing the 1986 animated Transformers movie where they violently kill off over 10 recurring beloved characters on screen, including the main guy, and then were surprised when children showed severe anguish over seeing Optimus Prime slowly dying of his wounds in a fucking hospital

Second pic was obvi The Pieta by Michelangelo, but shoutout to my partner for suggesting the role reversal cause I was initially gonna draw Viktor in Jayce's arms again, but having it the other way around gave me the idea for the last piece where they're mutually in each other's arms and on equal ground in the composition

Third pic was reffed from The Blossoming Of Love by Miquel Blay! Had to move Jayce's hand to Viktor's shoulder because he was too yolked for his arm to fit between them lmao
