I'll address the second ask first— Ignacio's age is something that's kinda confusing and kinda differs from person to person— but lemme just break down how I see Ignacio's age in relation to Mr Wonder, using my personal hcs— so. Everyone knows I ship Ignacio and Gregor. I hc Iggy to be in the same age group as Gregor if not a bit younger— (I don't have a solid age for him, I just categorize him in my brain as "old") and by the looks of it it seems like Gregor and Wonder are around the same age, so for my personal headcanons I don't think Iggy would be that much younger where he was a teen/kid while Mr Wonder was an adult?

But I do really like the idea of them knowing each other in the past, and we know Mr Wonder was a mailman in his youth so VIOLA! Mailman Ignacio— which I find to be hilarious, somebody help that man NDNDNSKSMND

1 - im gonna be honest with you ive got no damn idea. it's never really explained in the series how one becomes an overlord in the first place so yeah idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 2 - by 'the 3' i assume you mean the vees, unfortunately it's only vox and velvette who go to heaven in ep 6. as fun as it would be, val is not there 😞 well as ive mentioned in a previous ask, unlike vaggie, swap!velvette isnt a fallen angel so there's less drama lol. vox and velvette are both just super excited to be in heaven. as for the trial, well the angels treat vox with even more contempt than they do charlie in canon cause he's a regular sinner, + he kinda has the reputation of "adam's special boy" so there's that lol. and as i've also previously mentioned, velvette is the one who gets heated during the trial cause it's more in character for her than for vox (though vox gets in some stabs at the angels too) 3 - vel and val knew each other prior to the opening of the hotel, they were mutuals on sinstagram. they first met in person when val became a patron at the hotel, and that was also vox and val's first meeting 4 - ya angel owns val's soul

Alr here comes the "long" ask ig

Thanks to you bringing back my wolf children/werewolves/wolves brainrot, my brain brained a weird lore in my brain about your inhuman thundersnow au.

Remenber this guy? Well yeah, he was the EM of lightning before Libber (also her dad), during the Serpentine War he used his raijū form to fight, even if he was one of the less powerful lightning EM ever seen (based off the color of his lightning being yellow, yellow lightning is less hotter than blue lightning) he took many serpetine down and in general it was like brining a crazy new weapon to the war that suddenly gives certain side a great advantage, ya know, war stuff.

After the war finished, despite him being a good guy. Raijūs started to be seen as horrible bloodthirsty creatures just because of what he did during the war, which wasn't too different to what other EM did is just that he did it as a wolf, even Garmadon thanks to the Great Devouerer venom did worse.

Anyway, people started to get paranoid about raijūs and this caused to some people dedicate most of their time to hunt them down, not all hunters did it because they were corcened or smth but because they simply wanted to have fun killing an exotic species, or simply capturing them for who knows what (maybe using them for taxidermy?? spooky experiments??? biological weapons??? idk)

Slowly the individuals of this species were less and less, until there was only one left, Libber. Her father died and she almost did too, in and the rest is history she leaving Jay with the walkers, etc...

One more species that got extinct thanks to humans.

first of all, not all other raijū are gonna be extinct, but their population numbers have dwindled and most of them now avoid interacting with humans. i think it'd be interesting to have the gang meet other raijū at some point so i want to keep the opportunity open :D since they stop interacting with humans though, they are thought to be extinct and aren't really common knowledge among jay's generation.

both raijū and dragon will share this stigma of being dangerous bloodthirsty creatures, given that wu and garmadon also fight in the serpentine war (oni kinda have the stigma engrained in their identity in the ninjago series already ghsghsh and aren't really present in ninjago to most people's knowledge). dragons get off slightly easier however, being considered noble creatures in other legends, but raijū don't have the same reputation and are easier to hunt than dragons so they suffer a greater impact. this stigma is the cause for cole's fear of dragons in s1!

raijū don't make great taxidermy (their corpses eventually dissolve into lightning; full raijū aren't so much comprised of your typical things like flesh and bone), but i can imagine some being captured as living batteriess, although they only have enough power for about a single household, so it would work on a more individual basis than imperium's dragon energy scheme...

i've been having the idea that libber's dad isn't a wolf for his raijū form, but instead a snow leopard! you see, there's not a lot of mythology on raijū recorded online so i'm trying to fit in actual mythos where i can, and raijū aren't limited to a wolf/dog form, but have many four-legged animal forms recorded. i also like the idea of jay and libber's raijū forms looking similar, despite them not looking that similar for two canids, so related raijū in my au don't often have similar animal forms. libber's parents take the form of a snow leopard (in reference to ice who later takes a guardian role of sorts in place of libber's actual father) and a japanese serow.

furthermore, i mentioned this idea in the tags of one of my past posts but for raijū that are elemental masters of lightning, they often die when their child inherits their element. raijū are creatures made of lightning, but for those born with the element of lightning, they don't develop their own lightning because the element more than compensates for the power they need, so when the element is suddenly removed... yeah. so libber's dad is dead Before the main impact of the serpentine war, but perhaps her mother is killed as a result?

jay doesn't have the issue of dying when he loses his element like the bajillion times they do in the series because he's half human! it does mean that the first few times he loses his powers (including contact with vengestone), it feels Extra bad to him because it's literally part of his life-force taken away (i imagine lloyd has a similar effect but by nature of his element instead of his blood), but the longer he is without his power, the more chance his natural lightning has to develop, so by crystallised he can function pretty well without them :]

ONE PIECE AU LORE! (or smth) (I know no-one asked for this but ANYWAY! i wanna do a little silly and expand on my little one piece AU :) ) ((Also note : Any designs depicted here are just examples, and are not what the characters exactly look like in this au)) Hi there! just here to expand upon my one piece "god" AU (which is more like a sun and moon au but regardless-) basically in this universe, different one piece characters are assigned a sun, moon or star (not a specific star, just a star-) and basically are the "incarnations" of their assigned aspect. For example : Buggy is assigned the earths moon, specifically (not all character have specific assigned suns/moons, at least for now. Only Buggy and the Reader have an assigned sun and moon) (oh yeah in case the tags weren't clear on the first post, this is an self indulgent au i made so ofc there's a reader insert- if that's not your thing, that's alright, just letting you know-) and all of Buggy's crew are assigned to the starts surrounding the earth (i am no astrologist, my brain is too small for that, so dont be surprised if this is all very basic and/or wrong-) To name some characters that are sun gods in this au : -Luffy -Shanks -Eustass Kidd -Doflamingo -Garp -Ace -Roger to name a few- As for some moon gods in this au : -Law -Corazon -Big mom -Dragon -Rayleigh -Hawkins to name a few (if you wanna know what a specific character would be assigned, feel free to ask!) His hair is mainly white, but has a under-layer?? that is red- Moon gods can just have whatever hair they want- Tho for moon gods, a body part always becomes blue or gets a blue gradient (Fx Buggy's nose became blue. Something like that-) Stars usually have a white streak if they work with a sun god :

Also there is no beef between suns and moons specifically. at the risk of word vomiting my process, i planned their first meeting since the very inception of the t4t childhood friends au, but i keep delaying it bc frankly. idk if i trust myself to handle kid hal yet. he was such a sweetheart back then, but every time i look at the way i portray him, it doesn’t feel like i represent the full picture

kids act differently around peers than they do authority, so i thought i would still be able to maintain his “childhood innocence” if i threw in some arrogance/ignorance to reflect how easily influenced he is by his environment too. i’m not sure if i strike the balance. i worry that the way i push his more immature qualities misrepresents him as a simple-minded meathead stereotype instead

i also have mixed feelings abt this one bc even tho i wrote this before i found out, i keep getting flashbacks to the childhood hal + carol first meeting retcon where hal goes from “no way, you wanna be a pilot too??” to “psh, girls can’t be pilots!” which is not at all supposed to be the read on this. not to mention, this particular au has slight dcshg influences, so it’s also an expanded characterization, but maybe a counterintuitive one. as if this wasn’t complicated enough, like how the hell is anyone supposed to know any of this thru a jokey comic lol

ok so first i added a sixth grown, being the crown of amnesia. it's not actually in the land of the old faith, Woolbur's gonna have to go find it elsewhere but its an orange eye :3 (im also gonna write its own fic about it, bc i thought of it awhile ago) but i added another crown so i could justify the last crown having a seven pointed star lol

second, i gave all the other crowns animal forms as well. none of these are set-in-stone, but shamura's crown is a scorpion, kallamar's is either a jellyfish or a locust, heket's is probably a gecko or a salamander, and leshy's is probably a mouse or rat. leaning towards rat. the crown of amnesia is probably gonna be like a really small elephant or smth idk imma need help with that one, but the final crown, the crown of conquest, is gonna be a butterfly.

third, I want woolbur to interract with other lambs. that doesn't mean their people survived, oh no, he gets to meet lambs from outside the old faith. he joins a council of lambs, gathered to protect their kind, and quickly the rest of the council realizes that they placed a very powerful person on the council.

fourth, all of the bishops eventually join him. Narinder is last. in each one he overcomes their domain and gains their trust: for Shamura, they win a war they had no chance in. for Kallamar, they find a cure for a terrible plauge and administers it to all afflicted people in the cult. for Heket, they pull the cult through a great famine, and they even begin to thrive. for leshy, they whack him really hard on the head and runs away. in narinder's case, though, he just proposes to them and they get married lmao

theres a lot more that im going to talk about but these are the main things about it!! im really excited for this au

q!Mariana would be the father and q!Slime would be the mother it just works better that way (and Slime and Juanaflippa's father-daughter relationship was strained in the beginning like with Coraline and her mom). ignore that the dad in coraline is called charlie I feel Mariana here would be a better fit as the dad bc as the Other!Dad he like in canon also has a garden to take Juanaflippa to and is more present.

ANYWAY the ghost children in Sacapuntas are the remaining 3 dead children (Trumpet, Tilin, Bobby)... Bobby could have been Wyborn personality-wise but maybe Tallulah instead who mentions of her missing father who occupied one of the floors but she now lives in a different house nearby. Juanaflippa must collect the 3 egg tickets to set them free.

IDK on who exactly would be who with the other residence (as long as theyre from Sacapuntas) but I WANT Wilbur to be Other!Mr Bobinsky the tent is instead a concert (true!Wilbur would never show up in the reality but itd be like... JuanaFlippa helping Tallulah come to terms that true!Wilbur isnt there and thats ok because he still loves her)

Straying a bit further from canon I think itd be cool if there was a twist like everything in the Other!World is one giant code and Juanaflippa has to fight her code!Parents (namely Slime who looks like the gl slime demon in the goo dimension lmao). The finale ends with Juanaflippa waking up to see her real parents after the Trial.

Do you have any fame aus or anything else that inspired you for the dear reader series?

no fame au's, unfortunately :( i am a BIG fan of fame au's, however, so i do have some recs! but the inspiration for dear reader was largely just me listening to my music and forming an au around it - one playlist turned into two, which turned into seven, which turned into 16, etc - and then i had a full au plot in my head😭

but for recs!! i bookmark pretty much every fame au i read just because i love them so much. they're definitely my niche i just cannot stop putting these people on red carpets - and it's always been this waySDKJF

you'd be paranoid too (if everyone was out to get you) by harrowhark is a catradora fame au (popstar!catra) and it was one of the first fics i ever read on ao3 and literally changed my brain chemistry. now this was like 3-4 years ago, so it's been a while since i've read it, even though when i was in my shera hyperfixation i re-read it like six times i think - if you ARE a shera fan, i would 100% recommend this one, i still remember how incredible it was! did it inspire the dear reader-verse specifically? no, they're very different in terms of plot/characters, but i feel like if i'm talking about fics that inspired me this one's essential😭

everyone wake up new jinx album just dropped by Drindrak is similar to the first one in that it is a fame au that just made me love the trope so much, even though it is much more crack than angst, unlike you'd be paranoid😭it's an arcane fic where jinx... becomes a popstar? except it's like, set in runeterra and vi is still in jail and all of that. like. I DONT KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I FUCKING LOVE ITSKDF i swear i just love a good crack fic every now and then, and this did it WITH fame?? i love. and so yeah, looking back on it, i actually do think it inspired dear reader a bit in the way that jinx was absolutely chaotic (will i ever stop on the jinx nico parallels? i wrote a goddamn solangelo timebomb au already but i'm still going to be pointing it out)

he was seen on occasion (pacing the rocks, staring out at the midnight sea) by stargirltv is a solangelo fame au!! and i know that i already rec'd it. but like. you have to know how much i LOVE this fic and though, once again, the plots are pretty different - but also similar in the sense of the character dynamics! so yeah tbh i'd say i probably did, unintentionally, take a lot of inspo from this, just because i do love it so much, and it was one of the only fame au's for solangelo that i had read (i've read much more now, ofc, seeing as i stalk the fame and social media tags like a hawk)

and then the last thing i feel like i have to mention when talking about the inspiration for this fic is the book, red white and royal blue. i think i mentioned in the first chapter of talk your talk's end note that this entire au?? started off as a rwrb crossover in my head. nico's age was calculated with alex's in mind. will going to college at nyu was because i originally planned for alex and him to idk meet at a class or smth. cecil was originally a law student (another ironic thing for a child of hermes, and yet i ended up making him work towards cyber security lmfao) just so he could somehow become friends with alex. i was fully emerged in this universe where somehow these friend groups collided, and i fully orchestrated nico as a popstar just so that they'd have double the fandoms to go crazy about it. so does it really have to do anything with rwrb in terms of plot?? no, but alex and henry are entirely to thank for this!!!😭

i know that i kind of took a bit of a strange route for a popstar au in talk your talk so it doesn't really match the usual trope? like person is already famous -> meets someone, either famous or not -> fight to get together bc of the press -> some sort of leaked photo of them -> they choose each other in the end. and dont get me wrong, i will eat up that trope any day, but i do really like what i did with talk your talk! i love any form of fame au, and so it's always just fun to see different spins on the common tropes :)

I actually do have a reason for never giving them a happy (canonical or implied) happy ending ☝️ the thing abt me is every detail or like choice I make in character design/relationship/etc is that it's always intentional (most of the time) like there's always some kind of corny reason behind it bc I'm jwndkwjd insane and just think too hard abt two characters that don't even exist.

So like so like

I am an absolute loser for tropes like 'in another life' or 'in every life' or just anything among those lines. Like genuinely it does smth irreparable to my brain it's not even funny.

And basically the thought process for jipunk was like they're LITERALLY from different universes which quite literally means they can't end up together bc it's just not possible. But tbh the whole multiverse logic and how it works is up to interpretation cause y'know it's just a movie but personally I see it as smth pretty impossible for lore sake and stuff HAHSHA

So because the 'original' jipunk (atsv versions) can't end up together, I decided to go and think

"HMM."

I found it very ironic that not only is solar the more sunshine boi of his brothers and is in fact still feeling emotions BUT he is loyal to Daun

When you said solar was determined to be around daun i initially thought that oh he was lonely and depressed duh he would want to be with his brother

But when i thought about it again i realised that maybe it has something to do with how he programmed to be devotedly loyal, i mean sure at first it was because he didn't want to be alone but after a while who knows maybe his subconscious revert back to that programming

so first of all, iirc we dont exactly have much on the GAA side of the au, but i want to assume something similar happens with Susato and Ryunosuke like Maya and Phoenix (maybe Susato is playing Ryutaro w Ryunosuke able to help her by giving her a different perspective on cases to help idk). either way, Ryu and Susato end up in modern times like in my time travel au thru some mysterious means and its just like

similar to my time travel au, bc she thinks its unfair that Phoenix and Ryunosuke get to be related but they don't, Maya asks Susato if she'd like to be adopted as her ancestor, and Susato agrees.

the girls bond. Maya gets Susato addicted to Steel Samurai. but Maya would probably feel almost....... useless compared to Susato. because Susato is a judicial assistant, she understands law so much more than Maya does. hell, she's been reading the law books in the office and actually understands them, but Maya...... she's a spirit medium. and not even a well trained one ever since taking up her fake job as a lawyer. she doesn't feel as capable as Susato.

but Susato would take the time to help her, even if it's just a bit. she wants Maya to succeed and feel proud of herself– she thinks it's impressive how much the young woman has done as someone without any training in law.

meanwhile, Ryunosuke and Phoenix bond over having been found by beans and also learn differences in their borrower cultures with Ryu from early 1900s Japan and Phoenix living in Japanifornia in teh 2010s. Phoenix feels some relief that he's not the first borrower to end up being Seen by a bean, and Ryunosuke is slightly concerned abt the fact it happens again in the future, especially down his bloodline.

anyway Maya finds it more fun to mess with Ryunosuke (who she's dubbed "L'il Grampa Nick") because not only is he a borrower, he's a borrower from the early 1900s. meaning he has no way of knowing if she's telling the truth about what the future is like. Maya would lie a lot about the future to Susato and Ryunosuke and sees just how much she can get away with. (she's able to get away with a lot more with Ryunosuke).

Phoenix has to tell Ryunosuke not to believe half of what Maya says after Ryu calls him a thot bc Maya told him it means thoughtful person.

also idk where to put this in this ramble but i think Susato would def be a lot more careful and gentle w the two borrowers than Maya lmao.

Aira gets winged shoes and Hiiro gets a hat that makes him invisible

(Am recalling Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus where Annabeth has that hat)

And like when Aira and Hiiro encounter some kinda monster, Hiiro puts the hat on Aira and the winged shoes sense danger so they immediately fly Aira away

And Hiiro is left alone to fight the monster (Aira wanted to stay but Hiiro insisted he could fight alone)

As for the shoes, they originally just have a heart but as Aira meets the rest of Alkaloid, he sews patches of the symbols that represent them onto the shoes

im so sorry this took so long to answer i was sleeping and then i. i had to doodle for this. i cant stop thinking about it now. anyway this is going under a cut im going to. ramble. a lot now.

i think when aira first gets his winged shoes he immediately trips over himself- im not sure how hed get it, maybe he found them while cleaning out his closet or smth? they wouldnt have the wings then but after a couple of days BAM theyd have wings. these shoes be blessed by hermes! (or a god of travel / wind from different mythologies. im going greek just to make it easier on myself ajskdfkj) and then aira trips as the shoes try to fly off LMAO

i also think that. each shoe has one wing to make a pair of wings when together, so hed have to wear both shoes to be able to get the hang of it. idk i just always thought that itd be more interesting to have the shoes kinda imbalanced? idk what im getting at here. help

as for this au i think they wont necessarily be born demigods but more along the lines of "the gods blessed them and now they have slight powers / they have magical items that allow them to do things" so !! (this makes it easier on myself again)

okok!! hiiro time!! yes, the classic invis hat from percy jackson and the olympians <3 i love that book series so much... gahh!!! anyway i love the idea of him having an invis hat (i could not think of anything else ok. i am unoriginal) and hoenstly? he would be able to take a fight with a monster (hes canonically rly strong and im pretty sure he. also is in the karate(?) club with tetora) i dont think he'd use it much? i dunno. hmm does this mean he has been blessed by athena?

(i am extending this to alkaloid now) mayoi... he definitely has an item blessed (cursed?) by hades or smth. and he keeps it near / on him at all times which is partly why hes. so strange all the time. he doesnt want the effects of the item (maybe an amulet or some other small thing that he held sentimental value to?) to affect others. the other part of him being strange is. just his canon reasons. this au is literally just adding magic items to canon lmao btu STILL

tatsumi... i am thinking a pocketwatch. but imnot sure what magical properties it might have... i do NOT want it to be time related because at first tatsumi would think "i could use this to turn back time and everything would be reset and i wouldnt do the things i now regret" type of thing but when he realizes that its. not that. angst :) thats the only reason its a pocketwatch! im trying rly hard to coem up with a deity that would "fit" him but. its so hard... maybe hestia? goddess of the hearth, tatsumi being able to make a comfortable home for anyone in himself (METAPHORICALLY. PLEASE TELL ME THIS MAKES ANY SENSE AT ALL.) anyway hestia blessing would be so tatsumayo. tatsumi using pocketwatch power to at first get closer to mayoi, then feeling bad that he did that so tatsumi isolates himself from mayoi, but mayoi, not knowing what tatsumi did, is confused (but also he was also trying to push him away bc. hades blessing/curse) and now is worried that oh no, i did actually push him away this is bad!!! but its ok they reconcile with the help of hiiai!

unfortunately, I do not have multiple stories like most people on Writeblr since I keep fixating on the same story and its characters, lmao, so IDK if I can do the same thing everyone else is doing

HOWEVER, I will be taking my thesis in BFA Creative Writing this year and I am going to do doing something based on my main story! I was planning on finishing Book 1 (which I already have 4 chapters for), but my thesis adviser is heavily discouraging I do a full novel (minimum requirement for word count is only 15k and we're supposed to finish writing that with revisions by early December) so I've got a bunch of backup plans just in case I can't convince her!!

so here's a poll + bonus read more for further description of thesis ideas!!

Book 1 (Excerpt)

This is actually the option my adviser recommended the most. I have already written the first four chapters, even doing major revisions, and that already hit the 15k minimum word count, so she said that just revising these chapters would be the easiest option.

My biggest gripe with this is that I don't want to end it after Chapter 4. It ends on a mediocre cliffhanger, and we don't meet the other two main characters until later on. Not to mention, the BFA CW majors in my university get to (independently) publish and sell copies of their thesis at the end of the year, so it would be much more satisfying if I do the full Book 1.

Anthology: Thematic

I was thinking I could do instead a thematic short story collection linking the common traits of the main characters (Axel, Avery, Leandro, and Nathan). Each of the short stories would focus on a different MC's backstory. The central theme would be their loneliness.

The stories are (without giving away certain plot twists in Book 1):

AXEL: a story about a group of friends playing together, which turns out to be a product of Axel’s imagination

AVERY: the story behind the fallout with her ex-friends

LEANDRO: Leandro talking to his family about getting friends while figuring out he's a trans guy

NATHAN: Nathan talking to other children working under his drug pimp spirit stain dealer

Anthology: Characterization

This one was inspired by fanfiction, specifically the concept of the same characters in alternate universes. How can you tell the character is still the same character when they have a completely different backstory and setting? Up to where do you draw the lines?

The various settings are:

Historical — Pride and Prejudice but set in the late Spanish colonial period and from the POV of Elizabeth’s (Avery) best friend (Axel)

Sci-fi time travel — From 2099 CE, Axel is asked to travel to 2013 Metro Manila to chase after a time-traveling criminal (Raven)

Urban fantasy (Aswangs) — Axel the friendly manananggal helping their friend Leandro, who recently discovered they’re a manananggal

Modern real-life — Axel signing up their friend Nathan on a blind date auction during high school fair season

Alesseia (Original) — Axel discussing how to beat Rex with all of their friends

Anthology: Timeline

A short story collection featuring the same character, likely Axel, at different points in the series. The series is divided into three arcs, so it would likely be:

Before Arc 1

Between Arcs 1 and 2

Between Arcs 2 and 3

After Arc 3

The Actual Book 1

The actual book 1 of Alesseia. Tentatively titled the Dragon's Deed. I really, really, REALLY want this, but like. it's gonna be what, 50k words 😭 so unless I pull a NaNoWriMo again, I can't blame Ma'am

gonna ramble a lil bit abt loz au stuff so uhhhh

okokokokok. i cant go tooooo indepth abt bellum atm (iykyk) but im gonna. talk abt linebeck stuff specifically within au stuff bc hes fun to play with in aus esp since i hold the belief that he would be a bit different in aus on account of them tending to be very drastically different from canon. ofc the au set in space with hi tech and space travel and his backstory being that [REDACTED]. dw abt the space au idk if ill even get around to spilling the beans on that one any time soon lmao

like ok i have a whole bunch of aus and linebeck teeeends to play a major role in a lot of those aus bc Of Course and bc i think hes interesting

anyways heres the list of aus (took me ages to find this in my archive) but like. it is fun to experiment and be like ok how would this character act in work in x setting with y circumstances and z goals. theres a lil bit of nudging/shoving out of character w/ linebeck in some of these that im trying to wrangle back under control while keeping the story intact while some are fine cuz its like. vastly difference circumstances understandable. gotta keep some staples the same tho

like… without spoiling too much about any of these, crimson king au linebeck is like… hes similar to canon personality wise, if a bit more ruthless, while space au linebeck is just. Out There with some of that same greed and jumpiness, gimmick au linebeck is very much the same but with loftier ambitions and more of a willingness to risk getting hurt for something, in the modern au(s) hes going to be a bit different due to. well. technology going through full schooling meeting different people.

a lot of the fun differences are best expressed through how he fights or what kinds of conflicts he comes into contact with, and i usually try to think to myself how canon linebeck might prefer to fight and then somewhat sticking to that idea while branching out to fit circumstances and setting. crimson king au has him using a pair of knives and fighting in a style that keeps him dodging and moving quickly and aiming to dispatch as quickly as possible. space au linebeck is first and foremost a sniper, with some ‘fights like a cornered animal’ flavoring tossed in. gimmick au linebeck has to learn to fight, but fights dirty and takes every advantage and cheat he can find.

its fun to tinker with his relationships with returning characters too. i have a lot of wiggle room with his relationship with bellum, but i always like to root it in the idea that bellum finds him interesting and ends up being some form of beneficiary due to circumstances. it’s interesting with link, too, they’re usually close or grow to be close, kind of sticking with the idea that they make a good team, in the crimson king au theyre adoptive brothers, in space au theres a sort of (one-sided) rivalry going on, gimmick au is uh… complicated so its fun, in a few aus like the modern or… one of the ruined hyrules they only know each other in passing, and in some theyve never met before. other characters that are fun to play with are zelda, ranging from being enemies to close friends, ganondorf, extremes being an au literally centered around ganonbeck and then an au where they are enemies in a sense, midna is fun to play with, so is ghirahim, it’s fun to see how his relationship with other characters can be taken in different aus

the different designs are also a lot of fun, but theres not a ton i can say here (some aus hes pretty much the same as canon, but a few have him with alternate designs, or both. his space au design is prob my favorite lol. that au is fun)

a few times i have to forcibly put him in a background spot or smth so i cant constantly focus on him while hes still important (murder mystery au is a good example, hes important but not generally to the larger plot, hes kinda just a character who ends up somewhat helping in investigation, other examples being the amnesia link au where hes [REDACTED] and therefore not present for like. half of the story, or the gimmick au, where he has his own stuff to do apart from link and co, or the general modern one, where that one is generally meant to have a larger cast so i. just cant focus on him lol)

au stuff is fun with linebeck i get to put him into highly varied and highly specific Situations
