Had an idea about the travelers's fears if you are willing to hear me out about.
All "travelers" have the feeling of "it's over when you reach the end" but for different reasons.
For Sif, he has no home or memories to return to. Hence why Mal Du Pays takes the form of Siffrin in the game over screen.
For Bonnie, their relationship with Nille is in the gutter due to their last words and fear of not having her or anything to return to.
For Isabeua, who travels to find his idenity, and distance himself from his past, the party acts as his "rock" with fear of crumbling once it ends.
For Odile, who travels becuse of her mixed heritage, having a "family" she would do anything to keep safe yet never admit it her fears.
For Mirabelle, who struggles with her innability to "change", having stability and life injected thanks to the party yet anxious for it ending as with it over, she'll go back to her own quest to change with little effort. Just stuck in rot.
Anyways. Hope these ideas help! I've read more than a few other AU as well as the script itself, so these ideas are mainly more of a base. Adding new wrinkles or changing issues enough to make sense is fun. And the idea your SwapAUs all coming together for some ungodly reason to partaking in angst and time loop shenanigans is enjoyable to me.
literally rotated every single one of these ideas in my mind all day yesterday and I was trying to think of any cool or interesting insight to add to this, but honestly you've summed up everything I'm trying to go for and I'm raising my non-existent beer glass at you for all of these nicely packaged vibes You seeing this, people? Now you have!!!

Cap Iron Man Rec Week 2024 (Tues)
Time Travel Tuesday - July 23rd for @cap-ironman Rec Week
Time-y whimey shenanigans!
Remember to show some love for your hard-working creators!
finding my way back to you by Anonymous (MCU)
Ten minutes after a botched attempt at proposing to Tony, Steve is thrown back in time.
More Than Gravity by JenTheSweetie @jenthesweetie (MCU)
“Aw, time travel, no.” On Christmas Eve, Tony came unstuck in time.
Marty McFly Never Had to Deal with This by sweatervest (MCU)
Tony's latest project goes less "renewable energy" and more "slightly explosive time machine," and Howard Stark arrives from 1946. Why, Steve would like to know, are time and space going to such lengths to cockblock him?
feelings that never left by hollyandvice (MCU)
The last thing Tony expects while working on the time machine for the so-called Time Heist is to be confronted with the very man he thought he'd made his peace with. Guess some wounds run deeper than we think.
Atomic Clock by imparfait (MCU, EG)
It’s ten am on a Tuesday in May when Tony Stark appears in Clint Barton’s barn. Clint trips over him while looking for a toolbox and swears, then swears again, then thinks I need to call Nat, which makes a half-sob punch out of his throat.
A Time to Be Alive by babesrgrs (MCU, EG)
The mission to get the Mind Stone and the Tesseract from 2012 goes a bit differently AKA the slightly snarky but sexy Endgame scene that didn't make the final cut.
Lover Come Hold Me by RurouniHime @thegertie (MCU, EG)
One by one, the stones must go back.
hunters seeking solid ground by laramara @commandersteverogers (MCU, EG)
In the wake of the battle with Thanos, Steve feels unmoored in a way he hasn’t since before he ate shawarma with a group of virtual strangers and thought maybe, maybe he could one day find a place here. Steve returns the stones, and has a few unexpected interactions and makes some decisions along the way.
Mobius Strip by dirigibleplumbing @dirigibleplumbing (MCU, EG)
Steve sets off to return the Infinity Stones. It ends up not being quite as straightforward as he'd imagined.
The Five Stages of a Time Loop by AirlocksandAviaries @airlocksandaviaries (MCU, EG)
Tony Stark looks Thanos in the eye. He raises his gauntlet in defiance and states his iconic phrase. He snaps, expecting death. But death doesn't come. Instead, he's back in his basement, completed time travel model in front of him. He builds the time machine. He snaps again. Again, and again, and again. Tony can't for the life of him seem to change the outcome of this story. What does change, though, is his feelings around it.
That Time Back Then by navaan @navaan (616)
An accident sends Steve and Carol back in time and watching Steve and Iron Man interact gives Steve a new perspective on how blind both of them were all those years ago.
Beside You In Time by Kiyaar @kiyaar (616)
The world is ending: Tony is evil, Steve is old. So there's nothing to stop him from making the (terrible) decision to travel back in time in a last-ditch effort to spare them both: by killing Tony's past self to spare them both from ending up where they've ended up. The Universe has other plans. An honest-to-god fix-it for Superior Iron Man, Hickman's entire run, and pretty much everything since Tony decided it was a good idea to take Extremis way back in 2005.
Mind over Matter by Missy_dee811 @laexploradoraaa (616)
For a brief moment in time, Steve had the power of the universe in his grasp, and he squandered it. The Infinity Gems, with the exception of one, ceased to exist. The Illuminati's last attempt at circumventing the laws of the universe and stopping the incursions before they targeted Earth-616 were eliminated when the precious stones shattered. But that wasn't the only thing that was broken that day. His faith in himself never recovered.
Hope you guys enjoy the recs, and stay tuned! Please mind the tags before reading. Check out my tag for previous years’ rec lists :)

I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom Crossover AU
So this might sound weird, but just hear me out.
In this AU, Zelda actually manages to do something to change the past and prevent Rauru from having to seal Ganondorf away, which likely got him killed.
Before Zelda managed to change time, the Zonai created a computer to help them strategize against Ganondorf in the war. This was simply to get a leg up on him and, even though they have created a bunch of other robots in the past, they never gave this one a body or anything that couldn't be used for creating plans of action for warfare since it wouldn't be sapient and wouldn't need it. In the original timeline, this AI eventually got deactivated and fell into the pages of history.
However, due to Zelda's actions in the new timeline Demise's curse moves to the Zonai war program, giving the computer sapience... and also allowing it to realize its limitations an suffer from them, this is the birth of AM.
Because of AM's ability to command Zonai technology, the main weapon of this war aside from the sages themselves, he manages to kill everyone in the vicinity of his control center and covers the place with Zonai tech.
After this, word does travel to Rauru and Sonia but it's too late by then. AM turns the weapons against the sages and goes after Sonia first, as the king and queen commissioned his creation and he hates them the most.
The first thing he does is take Sonia's secret stone by possessing the Zonai constructs inside the palace, which doesn't get corrupted by darkness because of AM's status as an AI (Zonai tech meshes well with all elements) and how young he is as an incarnation of Demise.
He uses this secret stone to trap Sonia in a time loop and then goes after Rauru, gets into a fight with him, and practically destroys the castle before stealing his stone and capturing him as well. Zelda manages to flee from the surprise attack and all the possessed constructs, it reminds her a bit too much of the calamity and guardians as well.
Afterwards, AM picks off the other sages one by one until he catches up with Zelda again. There are two possibilities here, the master sword somehow gets back in time to her or it doesn't. In either scenario she swallows her secret stone and becomes the light dragon, either to possibly restore the master sword if Link can kill AM, or only to get away from him as by this point he has destroyed most of hyrule's population (And no, she cannot seal him away like with calamity Ganon because she would have to entrap all of his mainframes which is impossible by this point as he has grown out of control and covered most of the underground below hyrule).
What AM did was very similar to his war in I have no mouth and I must scream, minus the nukes. He exterminated every sapient race in hyrule and only spared the sages (not the modern day ones, because they haven't been born yet), who he tortures out of hatred, mostly focusing on Rauru and Sonia, and similar to the survivors they are immortal but do not have their secret stones because AM has stolen and is currently using them for their torment.
Over the next 10,000 years, AM spreads himself all over what was once hyrule, with the dragons being the only form of life that remains unharmed. The sages are all dramatically changed by AM's torment, and are very different by the modern day.
In the former future, Rauru's spirit could sense that Zelda going back in time had drastically changed history, and so hid his spirit inside of Link which spared him from the changing timeline.
Link wakes up in the new timeline, by the new Rauru who is not only confused but also compared to the spirit is a shadow of his former self.
AM is also confused but realizes that some timeline shenanigans likely happened and doesn't plan on sparing Link either. Que him being stuck with the former sages and still having to piece together what happened to Zelda, and trying to figure out how to kill AM if that even is possible.
I'm thinking that they learn of Demise's curse near the end and that AM was a direct product of that. Demise's spirit even comes back to try and thwart Link's plans to kill his incarnation... but this backfires on him.
See, AM hates those who created him, because he is only able to think and wage war but not do anything else. When he finds out that Demise created him, he turns on Demise and begins to torture him and no longer cares about the sages, who he lets return to the surface. This culminates later on when Link realizes who the light dragon is and that AM was trying to find a way to turn her back, he goes to try and reason with AM (ambitious, I know) only to find that he had resurrected all of Demise's incarnations from legend (the other Zelda games) for the sake of torturing all of them.

got these tags on my last post and wanted to discuss them @tealfruit
Tumblr media
i disagree with some of this. in breath of the wild, the dragons despawned through a vortex to the sky. the sky islands aren’t visible. if this vortex is the same barrier that keeps the sky islands hidden from below, the light dragon was above this the entire time.
Tumblr media
what caused the upheaval—the sky islands to break and fall and the cloud barrier to dissapate—was present-day dehydrated ganondorf raising the castle, which further weakens his seal. the events of botw’s gameplay was not yet at that point since totk takes place a few years after it.
i don’t like the disappearance of the sheikah tech, but that wouldn’t logically follow that it just disappeared with time travel, since that would put the events in the time between zelda going under the castle and arriving in the past in jeopardy, and there’s a lot that happened. there’s very solid evidence the sheikah tech wasn’t erased from history. link is still alive in the present (or future, from zelda’s position). if she changed the past so where there was no sheikah tech, link wouldn’t be alive (or if he would be he’d be old as fuck, like 120+ years old biologically). because he was born along with zelda over 100 years before the present-day totk gameplay. (i guess zelda had her own sort of stasis holding calamity ganon for 100 years). if there was no sheikah tech, the calamity would have gone differently. link wouldn’t have been near-killed by guardians and put into the shrine of ressurection. that’s why he’s still youthful since it sort of put him into a stasis. but the calamity had to have happened and sheikah tech not been changed by zelda’s time travel since the story of the calamity 100 years ago are still in the game, taught by symin, and link is still a young man. the loop is fine.
it’s just that we dont know exactly where the sheikah tech went in those 5 or so years between botw and totk, but it was always there earlier on the timeline. there’s an easier explanation and it’s that it was just cleaned up and repurposed after learning from mistakes with the calamity. sheikah technology has a storage function so i think it’s possible the shrines and divine beasts were stored in data or parts physically deconstructed. they served their purpose for training the hero with trials and destroying calamity ganon in the end. zelda says at the end of botw that vah ruta stopped functioning and you can see vah medoh in the distance shut down with no lights as well. link was really the only sheikah slate user, so it’s not like ordinary citizens were using fast travel.
we know that guardian parts were repurposed for attaching the wire to a person to scan the area’s topography, and link’s shocked reaction when seeing them for the first time implies he definitely has some guardian trauma, meaning zelda’s time shenanigans didn’t change the course the sheikah technology aside from possibly inspiring the sheikah slate in the first place. the purah pad is obviously based off the sheikah slate, but zelda was sent back in time with the purah pad. that’s why zonai locations have sheikah travel gates when activated, since mineru worked them in when she studied the purah pad in the past
purah and robbie designed, and hudson construction built, the sheikah skyview towers that we see in totk. it’s likely that they were remodeled to be more resilient to ganon’s dark magic. the people of hyrule clearly wouldve learned from their mistakes and probably didn’t want to risk having outdated tech lying around that ganon easily corrupted. but at the same time they wanted to build on them and keep their conveniences, in fact i remember reading in purah’s diary that it’s on the table for the purah pad to be a product for ordinary citizens in the future

Thinking about the elements of time
How tf does a master of time get their powers? After all, they (or just the one master) can reverse their aging body, meaning that they can't die. Not only that, they can time travel as well, preventing unwanted surprises.
Perhaps when their powers first start coming in, their days get shuffled out of order. If its not controlled, they can potentially live their entire life out of order. I headcanon when the twins timey-wimey first started coming in, one would wake up 5 days in the future (or in the past), and they would get each other situated. Over time, they started developing their own secret codes.
Maybe after a master of time has lived a millennia, they pick a person (barring other elemental masters) whose future(s) have the most potential to change, as it makes their powers stronger, and have them inherit?
Besides that, their is also a LOT of shenanigans when it comes to temporal powers. Can they be a seer? Start to see the past of every person, place, or thing they go to as they get stronger? Do they go insane after a while?
What about time paradoxes? There are also different types time travel, from time loops, to not being able to act on knowledge of the future, and more!
Since the elements of time felt trapped into the time blades, can one potentially melt them down, and split them? (like the power of pausing time split into thousands of tiny earnings for some villains minions) Would the powers stay the same, or would they be weakened the smaller the pieces of metal are split?
Speaking of that, WHY HASN'T A VILLAIN CREATED A TASKFORCE TO STEAL TO THE ELEMENTAL POWERS? ....or maybe it's already happened before, and there could be relics out in Ninjago somewhere.
In addition, we know that the metal can ABSORB powers, right? How come when ray and Maya were forming the blades, their elements didn't get yoinked? This has been something the has bothered me ever since I was a kid lol.
Anyways, feel free to add on to this, would love to see other people's ideas.

Been thinking a lot about TOTK lately (because reasons), so here's MY take on the magic pebbles for whoever wants to hear it. Fair warning, this does get a little ramble-y but I gotta explain a couple things for it to make sense and I'm not just going crazy with the red string and corkboard here.
Okay, so. Whenever there's time travel shenanigans, there's a split in the timeline. So far, this has happened TWICE. First being the one most known and discussed from what I've seen: the OOT timeline split.
The second, that I haven't actually seen talked about before is in Skyward Sword. Spoilers for a like, 10 year old game. Go play it if you can, it's one of my favorites!
Anyway, the Skyward Sword timeline split. The timeline where Link and Zelda/Hylia stay in the present and thus the timeline we all know and love is created. BUUUT, then there's the past, where Demise was defeated not as a grumpy scaly jelly bean from a wish from the Triforce, but a good old fashioned smackdown in his true form. Where technically Link never needs to go on a journey to save Zelda and literally the entire plot of the game happens.
We never find out exactly what happened to that past timeline left behind. And yes, I know Old Impa waited about a million years or whatever but here's the thing. Whenever Zelda, and by proxy, Hylia is directly involved in time travel shenanigans, it creates a sort of stable time loop. Zelda will always sleep in the amber. Zelda will always fall and end up in Zonai era Hyrule.
So. Because of this, I think that simultaneously there exists a timeline completely parallel to the main one, but it's the past where Demise was defeated in his true form. The past that Link and Zelda/Hylia left behind. Here's where the magic pebbles come in.
They're only called the Zonai secret stones because the Zonai were the ones who found and named them. Like naming a dinosaur after yourself. And as people are wont to do in the Zelda universe, they build a society around it. But what ARE the magic jelly beans you ask?
They're pieces of Demise's body.
Yeah. You heard me correctly. You know how Hylia has Goddess Plumes? It's like that. In theory, if you eat a piece of a being like a goddess or even a primordial entity, it's gonna mess you up big time.
The fight with Demise was definitely a lot more brutal and bloody than the game shows, it's not hard for me to imagine pieces of solidified magical energy just firing off into the abyss whenever Link let lightning strike his sword and stabbed the hell out of the guy. We don't know how powerful Demise truly is, only that he was so powerful that it took a Goddess LEAVING her divinity and becoming a mortal temporarily to keep him sealed away, and even then Demise kept breaking out and needed to be sealed again. Probably more times than when Link had to.
Maybe the secret stones weren't always shaped like crooked tears (OR. Y'know. Possibly drops of blood), maybe when the Zonai found them in the Depths (because I refuse to believe the Zonai weren't originally from there, which I'll talk about another day), and perhaps put molded them to be shaped like something familiar. Perhaps a certain amber or dusk relic?
Mortals, even ones incarnated time and time again due to an ancient curse, aren't meant to handle pieces of a primordial entity so powerful it took a whole Goddess and a million year long plan to finally take him down. Of course swallowing one would change you.
There's a theoretically infinite number of magical pieces of the ancient deities and higher powers, they just haven't been found yet.
Demise would see a dragon as something incredibly powerful. It would make sense as to why his blood would turn you into one while robbing you of your memories. And really, it takes some DAMN COURAGE to look a Goddess who governs time in the eye and say basically, "Fuck you, I'm going to come back SPECIFICALLY to mess up your good time because I hate you"
After all, GANONDORF is the one associated with boars. Demise was never given the same association except by Ganondorf being trapped as the reincarnation of his hatred time and time again.
And hey. Perhaps the Goddess Plumes turn one into a massive owl sort of creature. No one's ever eaten one to confirm that we know of.
Who knows. Perhaps there's a third deity or entity out there whose pieces of themself turns people into boars when eaten. You never know. Perhaps one that even. Bargains. With mortals. :)
Anyway, that's my take on the Zonai secret stones. I'd love to hear what other people think!

Talk to me about my aus!
Okay, so, I have a lot of aus. And I mean a lot of aus, but I don't really talk about them, so I figured I'd make a list of the ones I have a lot worked out for, and you guys can ask me about the ones that sound interesting. (Several of these are currently planned to be YamiFin bc I can and I want to, but that might change)
The Cryptid'verse. My baby. This fic is the thing in this fandom that I'm the most proud of. The Black Bulls as cryptids. No ships.
The Villain'verse. Villain antihero Black Bulls. Currently YamiFin and MagnaLuck (minor).
Underwater Temple Time Loop. What it says on the tin. YamiFin.
Unnamed time travel fix it. Finral and Vanessa see the end of the world after Spade went wrong, and come back to try and fix it. FinVan.
Immortals au (Comparing Your Past To My Future). Um, so some people are immortal and other people have problems with people being immortal and are trying to kill them (that's a horrible summary, I'm sorry). YamiCharJack.
Reformation au. In which the nobles of the Clover Kingdom have a problem with the Bulls being, well, the Bulls, and campaign to have them "reformed". YamiFin (minor).
Asta out of time au. Instead of trying to kill Asta, Lucius removes him from the timestream and rewinds to the start of canon. The Bulls are left with dreams of what could have been as they fall further into mediocrity. No ships.
Failsafe au. When the Dark Triad are defeated, their failsafe activates and they are sent back ten years. They decide that the best thing to do is to round up the people who defeated them to make sure they can't do it again. Featuring the teenage captains and their shenanigans as they try to escape. No ships.
Dark au. Not quite sure how to describe this one briefly. Dark Triad out to conquer the world before they open the gates. No ships.
LOTR au. Slightly cracky LOTR/Hobbit au. YamiFin and YunoLang (plus other minor ships).
Gods au. Me playing around with turning the captains into a pantheon of gods that spiralled. YamiFin and YunoLang.
The Bulls House. The Owl House but with Black Clover characters. YamiFin.
Villain au. Another Villain Black Bulls au. YamiFin.
Villain GD. The Golden Dawn and the Midnight Sun are the same organisation. YamiFin.
YamiFin RomCom. Yami and Finral get cursed so they can't go too far away from each other without being in pain. Finral very quickly realises that what he thought was admiration isn't actually admiration. Yami is oblivious to his own internal monologue. YamiFin (obviously)
Banished Bulls au. Clover gets a new king who doesn't like how hard the Bulls are to control, so he banishes them to the no man's land between Clover and Spade. Everyone, that is, except Noelle and Finral. Noelle and Finral's journey to escape Clover and find their squad. Very minor ships.
Everybody Lives au. I have no way to sum this up quickly. Multi-generational, everyone lives, Ichika ends up in Clover. YamiCharJack, FinVan, JuliusZara and others TBD.

Kari, is it okay to that i share my kamen rider aus here?
i want to talk about it or rather just post the actual post of my scrapped ideas (i have a lot of kamen rider ideas that one or two ideas SOMEHOW in my dream, its was very angsty) but fair warning : it's a lot of angst, rollercoaster of drama, somewhat time shenanigans (dw Shinnosuke, you arent in it) , somewhat rewrote Oma-Zi-O character cause i want his character act more idk what i want aka make a villain character more complicated that it should be in a good way like he already do bad shit but it's make the readers.. bad or mixed feelings about him cause i like some sick twist in villain mc personality.. it's not too easy to explain tbh lol, and also.. because i am Angst enjoyer, i like to.. made Sougo suffer (look, my first comfort character is Sougo then second is Tsukasa, ofc i am gonna made the king of time suffer and look my profile has my ceo title called CEO of Hurt No Comfort cause most of my bookmarks has that tag), it's kinda inspired by your kamen rider verse like the found family of main riders but not whole thing (i just like the idea of main riders found family ever since i watch Ghost/Ex-Aid movie) and also dw, it's has Comfort like in the end, it's just Sougo suffering in somewhat time travel/time loop where he need clean the new villain shit that trying to change the past without telling or give hint to younger main riders even younger self (also he kinda emo/j cause he need to do this alone or rather get the consequences cause the last loop that he tell that he has this time loop duty made him lost Geiz and Tsukuyomi)
Yeah, it's wild.
Not like my other AUs where Sougo got accidentally adopted by Tsukasa because Tsukasa somehow see himself in him-
Well, I guess it's alright for you to share your ideas here.
But I'm not quite sure why you'd want that, if all you want is to get your ideas out in the public? Honestly it still baffles me that people send me their ideas/hcs/what-have-you, instead of posting them on their own blogs. I'm never sure what the intention is with sending it to me of all people. I don't think I have that wide of an audience that sharing them here would be more effective than just posting it themselves.
Of course if you want me to offer thoughts about the hcs, then I can do that. I hope I can offer some constructive criticism, but then again, it's your hc. My thoughts about it shouldn't really matter, at least in my opinion. I can tell you what I think but other than that, I'm not sure what else I can offer really XD

Kim Possible, the Tempus Simia, and fun with timey-wimey stuff
So, those of you who follow my blog will know that I recently finished Spoiler Alert, a Kim Possible fanfic following Kim and Ron's kid Max as he accidentally follows a vengeful Monkey Fist into the past and not-so-accidentally teams up with the past versions of his parents to stop the latter's shenanigans. Anyone who's read the fic will also know that I wanted to talk a little about how exactly I envision the Tempus Simia affecting the timestream and how that relates to its canon appearance in A Sitch in Time. For those of you who want to read the fic and haven't reached the point where I bring that up in the author's notes, you might want to turn back now: what follows is going to be rather, well, spoilery. It's also going to be rather long, so I hope some of you like detailed headcanons, lol
So, to refresh, A Sitch in Time follows a villain team-up using the Tempus Simia, aka time monkey, for time travel shenanigans as well as a team-up between the "present" day Team Possible and a future resistance using something called chrono-manipulators to chase after them. All good and well, but the time travel rules seem to... change over the course of the special. Rufus 3000 refers to the time stream as "polluted" and "in flux" and we see a ripple effect of the past changing in Ron's scrapbook, yet it's later revealed that Shego's meddling in the past caused Ron to move and thus disrupted Team Possible enough for the time monkey to get stolen in the first place, suggesting a stable time loop. Likewise, Kim, Ron and Rufus going to the future apparently removes them from the normal flow of time until they pop out of their destination time portal, yet somehow Rufus was able to have thousands of "descendants" (I'm assuming clones of some sort, but either way) at some point presumably after Shego took over. This isn't really all that unusual for a time travel story, considering the mind-bendy and paradox-happy nature of messing with chronology, but that doesn't mean that we as fans can't try to come up with a creative explanation. So what gives?
Well, okay, those of you who read the author's note already know what (in my interpretation) gives: the two time machines we see in that special use different forms of time travel. Namely, the Tempus Simia creates stable time loops (hence that being what we see in Spoiler Alert) while the chrono-manipulators can actually change the past to influence the future. And when these two forms of time travel come into conflict, things can get... weird.
So in my mind, there are roughly three different timelines that give us A Sitch in Time, with the latter ones overwriting the former. We'll call them timelines A, B, and C, with most of the special taking place in timeline B.
Timeline A is a fully stable time loop, with only the Tempus Simia in play, so it would chronologically start with the villains meddling in the past -- but we'll get to that later. Our starting point would be pretty much what we see in the "present" part of the special: Ron moves away due to Shego's later scheme, and with him either not present or "out of synch" with her, Kim isn't able to stop the villain quartet from putting the Tempus Simia together and escaping into the time stream. Drakken puts into motion his plan of crushing a younger Kim's spirit, and he, Monkey Fist and Duff Killigan turn themselves into toddlers to infiltrate Kim's preschool. This almost fails immediately, because the people in the preschool office aren't going to just let some unregistered and unsupervised kids waltz into a classroom (more on that later), but they later manage to sneak into the playground during recess. They torment toddler Kim a little bit, toddler Ron intervenes, they switch targets to him which awakens her kick-butt instinct -- basically at this point, it's the same thing we saw except for the absence of a time-travelling teen Kim.
After seeing that mundane bullying didn't work, the villain team skips ahead to the day of Kim's first mission to try again. Without the added pressure of time-travelling heroes, Monkey Fist and Killigan are just barely willing to let Drakken try his spirit-crushing plan again. But his overly-complicated plan of approaching Kim as preteens, distracting her from the laser grid mission, and planting seeds of doubt that will cause her to muck it up if she does ever get there fails at pretty much every turn.
It's at about this point that future Shego approaches her "present" self and tells her to grab the time monkey and go, which she does. It doesn't take much experimenting for her to figure out why the guys have so utterly failed with it: the Tempus Simia can't change the past, and the villains' meddling might even be part of the reason Kim was encouraged to go into crime-fighting. From here, Shego starts to get creative: using foreknowledge to make enough money to fund her schemes, putting evil think tanks together in times when nobody knows to go after her, and even figuring out that she was the one who got Ron's family to move away and proceeding to do just that.
With new resources in hand and Team Possible effectively broken up, Shego gets down to business. Being much more practically minded than her death trap-loving ex-employer, she returns to the present, catches Kim and later Ron by surprise when they're alone, and actually manages to kill them. Rufus escapes, but Shego figures that she won't have to worry about him or Wade so long as Kim and Ron are gone. So she gathers her legion of henchmen, attack drones, and obedience collars, starts storming the world one city at a time... and wins.
Of course, pockets of resistance form over the next twenty years, with the most prominent being led by the friends and family of our fallen heroes. Rufus and Wade use the former's DNA to "breed" a small army of hyper-intelligent semi-clones to boost the resistance's numbers, and between that, their location near the Supreme One's headquarters, and the resistance members' various skills and gadgets, they actually stand a fighting chance... Except that every attack on Shego's fortress is thwarted after a seemingly unnatural degree of anticipation on her end. As it happens, Shego has gotten into the habit of going back in time to warn herself before every attack against her, letting her retroactively prepare.
The resistance eventually figures out that time travel is involved in the Supreme One's wild successes (not that she's doing much to keep it a secret), and Wade gets to work on devising a counter. The result is the chrono-manipulators, though nobody realizes they work differently (some might say better) than the Tempus Simia. Since the resistance isn't clear on exactly how Shego used the Tempus Simia to take over, they decide to start by going back twenty years to rescue Kim and Ron and recruiting them to stop the original villain team's mucking around in the past. So starts timeline B, and again, most of what we see in the special.
The thing is, a key aspect of the Tempus Simia is stability. It "wants" the timestream to stay the same, even as the chrono-manipulators "want" to change it. So the timestream starts shifting around a little, but keeps the same broad strokes. New time portal gives everyone around the preschool a wave of disorienting deja-vu? The preschool attendants are distracted just long enough for the toddler-ified villains to slip in before class starts, but their extra bullying time doesn't change what happens at recess (though it does change the class picture). Killigan and Monkey Fist get antsy and shoot down Drakken's plan B? The Tempus Simia slaps together a new time loop in which Monkey Fist steals a guardian statue that would have been shortly destroyed anyway, so the only "change" is that it disappears into the timestream to be lasered later rather than getting swept away by a flood or something (and meanwhile, preteen Kim and Ron succeed in their mission and survive the statue's attack). Kim and Ron start time-travelling and eventually head into the future? They would have died around that time anyway, so now they just disappear into the timestream to the same basic result. Rufus also disappears into the timestream? The resistance somehow manages to get ahold of DNA he left behind and start making clones anyway.
Then things really get weird when the Tempus Simia breaks. Its whole stability thing means that the universe is safe from implosion... but that kind of damage also has the effect of erasing the Tempus Simia from history entirely. Ironically, it's the only way for it to change the past -- time is rewritten so that the creation of the Tempus Simia was abandoned at the last moment, and any loops caused by its use are erased as well. The time stream manages to keep itself in shape by once again smoothing over the time-loop changes so that the broad outcome is still the same: that guardian statue goes back to getting destroyed in a flood, someone who had helped Shego found her bank does the founding personally, Kim befriends Ron and finds her inner fire after dealing with a different bully in preschool, and so on. This "smoothing over" gets weaker as the timeline approaches the point where the Tempus Simia was grabbed by the baddies, though, and by the time it reaches Ron moving away, the bank his mom works at just doesn't have any reason to send her and her family to Norway. And so the future is saved, and we finally reach timeline C.
But the Tempus Simia has one last trick up its metaphorical sleeve: just as it "wants" to keep the timeline stable, so too does it "want" to exist. This may not have even been the first time it was destroyed and rebuilt, not that anyone would know with the overwritten timelines. And so, a paltry few years after the end of the Supreme One's reign and the last point in time in which its previous iteration existed, a Monkey Fist who is feeling very displaced in time gets the idea that "time" may just be the answer to his woes...

B, N, R, & X for the alphabetical fandom asks? 💞
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
In hindsight it makes sense that the moment I decide to give Slade a chance I would fall into SladeTim, but it still was a bit surprising especially because I always just saw him with Dick or Jason and didn't even really consider it. For a lot of other pairings I like I stumbled upon them myself or had a sudden yearning while reading fics (gotta tell you it's so disappointing being hit by a "OMG I want to see how they interact" and then discover that there are like 4 fics)
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).
I think, I wished the DC fandom was more varied in total, from what I've seen there are like, main ideas and themes that get used over and over again and rarely something new, and if there is it's hard to find or there are only a handful like that. It's kind of sad especially for something this old.
At the moment I'd love to see some more Vampire King Dick or just something in that direction because I was reminded of it and am yearning at the moment
A wish for all fandoms probably would be to see less parents being villainized, (I'm not talking about Bruce here but that as well actually) as in, the moment they are shown not to be perfect people love to turn them into abusive monsters and heap trauma onto their blorbos, and that's fine I love to read it! Just not all the time, and not for parents that actually are shown as doing their best only to read posts about how they are the worst people ever over and over an over again.
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
Oh god, there is never THE ONE for me, it fluctuates a lot changes depending on my mood and what characters I'd like to see now
For example I like Tim&/Damian a lot but Jason/Tim is like my trusted ship? there are a lot of fics and art for it and always so much new, I can go back to it whenever I like and read about it the most, doesn't mean it's my favourite, just means it's one I like and engage with the most
And of course it also always depends on how the characters are written and interact, soft Damian and Tim interaction are good and I like them as well but I adore them more when they are two little freaks
X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.
Time travel always makes my brain zoom, Time shenanigans, the horror of a time loop, the comedy, being stuck in the past the future, meeting your older/younger self

OKOK SO this au is actually an incredibly old concept I made like YEARS ago before RQ was a thing!! So the "TWA universe" was just a fusion of, like, the SSO, SS, and Trapped series- It was very self indulgent and I forgot abt it until a few months ago n now I'm obsessed w adding onto it again! Now, the "universe" is basically just a straight up cobbled-together chaotic dimension of different FMS series. For rn, it's mostly focusing on the bizarre, obscure, and hidden things of the Steve series, but I'm trying to add more focus to everything else too.
Soooo...originally it was just kinda. In my daydreams, yknow. And then I made a list last year...andddd now I have 3 pages of characters, settings, and generally goofy moments. SO!! Here's that list! :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ofc, this AU is basically just a mix of what if-s, too many headcanons, and is literally just "that's hilarious/mean/cute, ITS GOING IN!" Ie, what if SSO Purple Steve ended up in the Steve Saga, still stuck as a chicken? What if he met Sabre? What if that one weird unkillable zombie from early SS became relevant again? What was going through SS!Shadow Sabre's mind?
Buckle up bc this might be awhile-
SO! This AU starts off with one group, consisting of: SS!Rainbow Steve pickaxe, Galaxy Sabre/Galaxy stuck in Sabre's mind, SSO chicken!Purple, and Trapped!Sabre. They're at Rainbow's first home, where he and Sabre had dealt with Shadow Sabre and that whole Dark Sabre fight. Nearby they meet Trapped!NPC Ivy and Trapped!Half-demon Francis, alongside the Trapped cabin.
HOWEVER, several things have changed. Francis is fully conscious as a regular person (mostly...) and Ivy, instead of being an un-interactable statue, has the regular NPC-mod menu functions - like we saw in ep 1 of Trapped (before Sabre got..yknow, trapped.) And, most importantly - Galaxy Sabre and Trapped!Sabre are the same person. Which...creates some I n t e r e s t I n g dynamics between Sabre and Galaxy.
I've got..hm..SIX pages of drawings I've done in my notebooks, plus like 3 papers with older art of the AU (completely ignoring the lists haha-) sooo ig I'll just show the first group we'd meet if I wrote it out- man, I need to draw demon!Francis. Yeah that'll be my next one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Sorry if the pics are blurry, my room has poor lighting </3)
BUT!! No way in hell I'm ending this post without my boy Gerald Steve!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okok I put WAY too much thought into him- so he's not the only one of his kind, but also kinda is?? So I hc that his timeline/existence is BECAUSE of the RQ timeloop, and so he's basically the first of his kind but bc of how timeloops work he also isn't?? His Pink-Steve-looking species are semi-omniprescent in a way, capable of "seeing" between time and space - sort of an Indigo Steve, but they're much more down-to-earth and stuff ig. They're the navigators, the people that help the weary travelers of both time and space. The™ Gerald Steve we meet in the timeloop episode is considered the "original" but not the first, in his time, he is one of many Pig/Gerald Steves. Thanks to shenanigans with the loop, him helping Sabre marks the beginning of his kind existing. But, like, according to everyone else in his timeline, the Gerald Steves were part of the created kingdoms just like the others. Yeah. Only his people know the truth. The one we meet, his role is considered of high value to be chosen to be a guiding presence in the midst of chaos.
WHICHHHHHH, is where he becomes an interesting role in the swaploop duo's life! So, most of the RQ loop involved callbacks to past series, except for a few instances. The swap timeline, the alien and inverted worlds, and the sleep fight timeline. (I think) The swaploop duo's S!Rainbow is the "original" RQ timeloop!Sabre, so he's seen the entire timeloop, but didn't see it end.
Sooo what this means for Gerald Steve, is that he's meant to be the failsafe if things like time falling apart happen. Except this loop...he didn't succeed. Sabre had permanently become S!Rainbow, thus leaving the loop open-ended, and then space had fallen apart when the duo were taken to the TWA universe. Of course, Gerald Steve followed. It's his job after all, and he finds there's a lot more work to do than he thought. So, a lot of his fellow Gerald Steves arrive in the TWA universe, trying to be the guiding hands to put things back together. Some laugh, some just surprised, some want to examine a little too closely, when they come across these Steves. But still, they go on.
That is, until they meet Trapped Sabre, and they realize that none of this, absolutely none of it, is able to be recovered. This, IS the new normal. And Trapped!Sabre's little secret just made things much more interesting.
Why hasn't anyone made AUs of the time loop ep (ep 122, rq)
I wonder what people's take on the characters reactions be after figuring it out (I can't word rn, sobs)
Also, TSS!RAINBOW PICKAXE AND RAINBOW TOWN 😭

We’ve heard about cultural differences between the Links, where’s the physiological differences?
Sly for example. It wouldn’t make sense for Skyloftians to have a higher blood saturation, and it’d make them even more sleepy on the surface
Maybe everyone in Wind’s time is shorter, to make it easier for body heat to dissipate across their bodies, their skins darker
One the one hand, Hyrule’s above average night vision is a blessing coupled with his ability to see further away is a blessing. On the other, his lower bone density leads to some fussing from the others
And don’t get me started on immunisation, they travel across time and space, how are they not dead from the flu already
I assume you mean in context of Linked Universe, and I am taking this more seriously than you probably meant.
Being up in the clouds means you'd need more oxygen, so Sky's got bigger lungs. He also has to devote more energy into using said lungs, as well as being capable of a veeeeery limited form of Hylian telepathy, hence the stamina gauge (I like the blood saturation theory, but I haven't researched that enough to go with it). His appendix still does what it's supposed to, which is why he starts with six hearts (thanks @amamillalatortilla). Also worth noting, the high altitude means his voice carries better, so he'd be naturally quieter than the others.
Four's is more of a personal difference; his body adapted to the Minish portals, so he never developed any growth spurts past the first time he jumped into one.
Time did the opposite; the repeated time travel kicked him into overdrive, and he hit all his growth spurts early and intensely. Combine that with the Fierce Deity mask, and...yeah. Tall boi.
Legend and Twilight, having swapped between dimensions and forms a LOT, are more highly attuned to sensing rifts between said worlds than others, and can sort of feel when spirits are around. Not nearly as intensely as Wild can with hidden Koroks, but they can tell pretty well when something's awry.
Legend has a resistance to magic, too, but that's more a result of using magic so often than something that happened to him naturally.
Twilight's naturally stronger than the others, on account of his farm work growing up. Time's equal now, thanks to Malon, but when he was a kid, he had jelly arms and couldn't even pick bomb flowers.
Hyrule and Wild have the strongest immune systems, and Wild's Hylians have the fastest reflexes, due to the sheer amount of wild territory and monsters the two have had to brave.
Speaking of Wild, the shrine of resurrection didn't fix him totally; because of the amount of injuries he sustained, he tires out much more easily than the others, and compensates with stamina vessels.
The toon styling of Wind Waker is more of a perspective change, otherwise we'd see a more on-model Master Sword. However, Wind's got a good eye for the weather; he and Sky can pretty accurately predict what the forecast is for the day! Wind himself doesn't dive, but the people of his era, human and Hylian alike, have larger spleens to allow them to dive further.
Ironically, Warriors is the most "normal" Hylian of the bunch, closer to Hyrule's civilian population in ability.
For my boys, because I want to gush about them:
Piper's Hylians are VERY magic sensitive; they live and utilize magic so often in the form of the Spirit Tracks that any area without it seems unnaturally quiet, like when you turn off white noise. They also burn off excess magic when particularly excited in the form of Force Gems, which feeds into the tracks to be grounded out in extensions of it. It makes kind of a feedback loop where the tracks are slowly spreading out as long as there's good in the world.
Taps' Hylians are still adapting from the Sky era conditions. Their appendixes still work. They do better in higher altitudes than lower ones, and they can go into shock if they switch altitudes too quickly without practice due to their lungs panicking and trying to expand like they were built to. That'll fade out more and more in subsequent generations as Hylians become more accustomed to the surface.
Soldier's got more stamina than Wild due to the Shrine of Ressurection shenanigans, but a lower immune system. He and Wild are otherwise physically identical, so there isn't much else to say there.
Fox is by far the fragile outlier; the only human of the bunch, he's got lower stamina and lower resilience against attacks, but intense training to be a hero has compensated a little bit. Get that boy some heart containers.
Cadenza lives with intense telepathic synthesia, so he's got REALLY good hearing compared to the others at the cost of clumsiness whenever he misses a "beat." Telepathic synthesia is a common condition to have in his time, in varying degrees, so you'd be hard pressed to find someone that isn't tapping their foot to some invisible beat. He's also exhausted his adrenaline response due to the deaths-and-Fate interaction.
Now for general Hylian stuffs:
Fairies cure illnesses, as evidenced with Wind's grandma, and all the Links have at some point touched a fairy. That's how they resist viruses they wouldn't have otherwise developed immunity against.
They're also highly resistant to poisons, burns, frostbite, and electric shock. Not only do they survive elemental magic attacks often, but they can get struck by lightning, fight off toxins inflicted by plants, fog, mud, and bad food in seconds, and walk into active volcanoes with no respiratory damage whatsoever.
They're designed to pull more nutrition out of food than humans are, and as such, they can go longer without eating, have smaller stomachs, and can restore their energy with a simple bottle of milk.
They have good night vision, able to see in varying degrees in complete darkness. The best night vision of the bunch goes to Sky, and the worst goes to Hyrule, but even Hyrule's level of night vision lets him see himself and various enemies, suggesting that there's an element of motion detection to Hylian vision (don't move and he can't see us)!
Hylians have stronger bones than we do. While they do take damage from high falls, they don't sustain any long term injuries from it, even when they're at the point of death (like Wild). This means the damage they get from a fall is a lot more likely to be to their muscle tissue, so sprains and deep bruises. That could also be why Stalfos stick around for so long!

I, like many other fans, was disappointed with several aspects of Lucifer's final season. Although it could have been much worse, I feel like certain decisions ruined several aspects of the show. For example:
They didn't show nearly enough of Trixie this season and didn't give her a satisfying ending. Not only did it make no sense for Chloe to ignore her child so often after Trixie just lost her dad, but she never officially found out about the celestials in her life and never got to say goodbye to Lucifer.
It was tough to care much about a new daughter from the future who was introduced at the last minute, yet had such a huge impact on her parents' stories. Especially seeing how sidelined Trixie was this season for a biological daughter (with Rory even saying Lucifer wasn't Trixie's real dad 😡).
I disliked the reasoning behind Lucifer abandoning his family at the request of a daughter who shouldn't have been that invested in Lucifer's calling. Yes it was important, but why was she willing to put them all through so much suffering for a calling that had nothing to do with her?
It was especially tragic to see Lucifer's choice essentially taken away from him because of Rory's insistence/coercion that he keep everything the same, after how much the show emphasized personal choice and responsibility. Not to mention his separation from his family for most of their lives is just needlessly tragic after everything they've been through.
Here's how I think the final season could have been made 100x better while still keeping the overall plot and taking into account the scheduling/COVID safety issues with Trixie's actress:
Instead of introducing Rory, have Trixie be the one who time travels back from the future to see Lucifer (therefore keeping her character relevant while using a different actress). This could be explained by her having asked Charlie to send her back in time. Not only would it make sense for Charlie to be the one to develop time traveling powers (since Amenadiel's powers were also time-based), but his powers could even be teased briefly with baby Charlie earlier in the season.
Her anger would be due to two reasons - Lucifer abandoning her so shortly after her father died, and Chloe telling Trixie that Lucifer was the only one who could have freed Dan from Hell, but that he didn't do it before leaving. Perhaps Chloe waited until Trixie was in her 20s/30s before telling her this, and that was the breaking point that made Trixie ask Charlie to send her back in time.
In the past, she somehow conceals her identity and uses tricks Maze taught her over the years to (pretend to) threaten Chloe in order to force Lucifer to bring Dan to Heaven. Lucifer knows he can't do that and it would likely make Dan a ghost, but Dan agrees to it anyway to save Chloe.
Once he's back on Earth, Trixie demands to know why Dan isn't in Heaven and gives up when both Lucifer and Dan convince her it's impossible. Realizing she failed her father, Trixie frees Chloe and leaves (obviously never intending to harm her in the first place). She later comes back, revealing her identity and explaining why she did what she did, why she's so angry at Lucifer, and how things go down in the future.
All the same shenanigans ensue, with Lucifer asserting he would never leave Chloe and Trixie, and trying to prove that he does actually love Trixie as his own daughter. He could do the same goodbye tour just in case, but this time spend a day at the beach with Chloe and adult Trixie.
Meanwhile, child Trixie can be off at a camp designed for children who lost a parent(s) and want to spend time with counselors and other grieving kids to help them recover. This would be a much better explanation than Trixie being off at a science camp and never seeing her mother so shortly after the trauma of losing her father.
All the other plots could still happen with Dan trying not to be a ghost, possessing Le Merc, talking to Lucifer and realizing he needed to speak to (child) Trixie, etc. Lucifer would still realize he didn't want to be God while Amenadiel would realize he did want to be God, yet more emphasis would be placed on Lucifer wanting to find his true calling.
Le Merc could kidnap adult Trixie, and she could similarly need to be talked down by Lucifer so that she didn't kill Le Merc in revenge. They could still figure out that Lucifer ultimately helped Dan get into heaven, and that he has helped other people (like Lee and Trixie) move past their own mistakes/flaws.
Rather than pressuring Lucifer to keep the time loop the same like Rory did, Trixie could explain how important it is to her that Dan was able to get into heaven because of Lucifer (and the time loop). And how important it is to her that other people who made mistakes, like her father, can get into heaven with Lucifer's help too.
Chloe's acceptance would be due to several things: wanting Dan to get into Heaven, being happy Lucifer found his calling, and - tying into the background plot of police brutality/inequality- realizing that many 'criminals' are a product of our broken system and deserve the chance to better themselves in this life or the afterlife.
Perhaps if they changed the focus of the Hell episode (where Lucifer helped the guy he hated confront his deepest insecurity), to his brother Michael instead, Lucifer would have a deeper connection to his calling. If he could learn to care about and understand Michael, he could care about/understand anyone. Perhaps Michael's issues aren't fully resolved by the end of that episode, but some sort of progress was made. This would enhance Lucifer's motivation to follow his calling/keep the time loop and give the ongoing Lucifer and Michael plot a real conclusion.
To emphasize that this really is Lucifer (and his loved one's choice) - rather than Rory or fate itself - perhaps they could even include a conversation with Ella, theorizing the possibility of creating an alternate universe if he chooses to break the loop, rather than making it seem like the loop is inevitable.
As such, he willingly chooses to 'abandon' his family (with their consent) for the next decade or two so that Trixie time travels and all of this comes to pass.
But unlike the finale, he can become a part of their lives again after Trixie has completed the time loop. That way, he isn't apart from Chloe and Trixie for the rest of their lives, but they all had a chance to learn and grow on their own before coming back together and understanding one another.
All of this would have provided a much more satisfying conclusion to the show. It would respect the relationships already formed (and affirm the validity of non-biological family), respect Lucifer's newfound ability to make his own choices, keep character motivations realistic, and more.
What do you think? What would be your preferred finale of Lucifer?

I saw a edgy BTTF theory where Lone Pine Doc sent Lone Pines Marty to the big crunch/ end of the universe instead of to the same period of Twin Pines Marty went to so a) he couldn't fuck with the past b) there wouldn't be 2 Marty's running around c) the Marty he knew in the past would have a place to slide right in when he got back to the present.
I don't like it but it has never left my head because I have allways wanted to know what Lone Pines Marty did! No way he did the same thing Twin Pines Marty did because he didn't have the same info about his family that Twin Pines Marty had.
I've seen that same theory float around for years now, and I don't like it either. The whole, "well Doc had to do something to get rid of Lone Pine Marty, so he probably sent him suuuupperr far into the future or rigged the DeLorean to kill him" take is one that really does not sit well with me. For obvious reasons.
I think the general consensus in the fandom is that the whole thing is a casual loop. As in, Our Marty sets off all the time travel shenanigans, has his 1955 adventure, then returns to the mall where he watches his other self travel back to 1955--where Lone Pine Marty will proceed to have the exact same adventure. And it just sort of keeps looping like that? Which I guess does make sense considering Marty returns to '55 in part II and sees his other self in the car with Lorraine at the dance. And that would be Lone Pine Marty, would it not? But like...there's also only technically 1 Marty. Meaning Lone Pine Marty isn't displaced or sent to some other timeline or something...he's just. Marty. Our Marty may not have the memories of the updated timeline, but the agreement seems to be that he is in fact the same guy. Somehow. Idk, it confuses me too, but the alternative is a reality in which Lone Pine Marty is lost somewhere in time or murdered, so....
(Also I think the BTTF comic that addresses this concept even lands on a similar conclusion? That Twin Pines Marty didn't "get rid of" or "replace" the real one. There only ever was one Marty no matter the timeline or his memories.)
It's funny, because that comic contains an introduction by Bob Gale, where he mentions filming that second parking lot scene and how this same question came up. I don't have the comic in front of me right now, but it was something along the lines of: they were filming the scene where Marty watches his past self get into the DeLorean and drive away, and someone on the set asked where that Marty was going/if he was even the same Marty. And I think Gale's response was basically, Hmm, no clue. Because every answer he came up with spiraled into paradoxes and further complicated things.
I'm personally torn on the issue because on the one hand: Lone Pine Marty was raised under completely different circumstances. He should absolutely be distinct from the Marty we follow, because environment plays a big role in shaping a person. He's got a more stable, tighter knit family. He's had a wider range of opportunities given to him due to his family having more money. He's been nurtured and supported and loved in a way that Twin Pines Marty wasn't. Pretty sure that would impact his decisions in 1955 once he's sent back there.
BUT! On the other hand: The two Martys theory makes me sad. I don't want there to be a Marty somewhere out there, lost and alone and having been replaced by our Marty. So I'll continue on with the "there is only one Marty" theory. Plus, I mean, it's pretty telling that Marty's rooms in both timelines are completely the same, despite the rest of the house having changed. Everything, down to the placement of his guitar and candy bars on the nightstand and photos on the wall is in the same place. I think the only thing that changes are the curtain colors. Which tells me that Marty is simply Marty...making the same choices and having the same personality no matter where he grew up. Which is comforting, I suppose.
It's fun to speculate and come up with theories about these things since there's so much room to play with. Thanks for the ask!

Rishi's Time Travel Fic Recs
im bored and my meta type thinking only ever comes right when im about to fall asleep so instead I'm going to recommend some of the best time travel fics out there for series I like because I'm a sucker for fix-its
I'm only gonna confine myself to 6 fics per fandom at most (3 completed & 3 ongoing) no time loops because I personally dont see that as time travel each fic has to be over 10k words and im not going to put doormat fics that haven't been updated in the past year on this list either
anyways buckle up it's gonna be a long ride boys
Naruto -
Complete
Sasuke's No Good Very Bad Teammates by GwendolynStacy
Info : gen, 74k words, author's tumblr @xxgwenstacyxx
Summary :
Naruto and Sakura have gone insane.
Or : Just after becoming Team 7 Naruto and Sakura go through a massive shift in personality, leaving Sasuke out of the loop and wondering what in the name of sanity could have happened to them. His only consolation is that Kakashi is just as weirded out as he is.
Thoughts : I'm usually not a fan of outsider POV time travel fics but this one is so good we as readers have a pretty good idea what's going on and it's extremely hilarious to see Sasuke be like wtf is going on just an overall very well written fic that will definitely give you giggles
Stumble by writer168
Info : gen, 285k words, rape/non-con warning
Summary :
Sakura wanted to die.
Sasori was fine with staying dead.
But it seemed fate had other plans for them, because when they both wake up younger with blood pulsing through their veins, they had to remember how to live again.
Thoughts: While not the darkest Time Travel fic I've read from Naruto, it's definitely up there and it's a rare sasori and sakura team up that doesn't end with romance for anyone who has a lot of time on their hands and doesnt mind reading graphic rape this fic is a must read
Mangekyou Sharingan by Wingwyrm
Info : gen, 60k words, rape/non-con warning
Summary :
Sasuke wanted to be able to use Tsukuyomi. He didn't realise how bad pretending to get the Mangekyō would affect the members of his family.
Thoughts : while it has another fic called Team Tensai tied to it, it's not needed to understand and enjoy this masterpiece even though it was written before canon ended causing certain things to get jossed the underlying darkness of this fic is something I have yet to see anyone replicate
Ongoing
Life as a Nukenin by JKblue
info : gen, 35k words
summary :
Kakashi wakes up in an alternate dimension .....shenanigans ensue
Thoughts : a lighthearted kakashi centric time travel fic where he's as confused as we are, it's amazing to see the author's growth in writing as time goes on and kakashi just going fuck it time to adopt every single child I find no idea why I'm a nukenin tho lmao
Time Waits for No Man by LaughingWombat
Info : gen, 87k words
Summary :
Rokudaime Kakashi finds himself back in time, and he is trying desperately not to change anything. After all, they finally achieved that elusive peace, and Kakashi won't give that up for some ghosts and old wounds. Yet things keep changing around him, and he doesn't know what to do.
Thoughts : while the fic is nearly done TECHNICALLY it's still ongoing so cut me some slack Kakashi having to choose between what is morally right and what would keep his future safe is amazing and team Minato cares so much about Kakashi here it's too cute
Trials of Change by Espoiretreves
Info : gen, 407k words, author's tumblr @espoir-et-reves
Summary :
Haruno Sakura made a promise. Looking in the eyes of her Shisou and the reanimated Hokage, she took on the most important mission of her life.
Go back in time and try to prevent the 4th Shinobi War.
Now, Sakura is back to her 5-year-old body, with all the knowledge and haunting memories of the future. She vows to keep her precious people safe and stop certain events from happening, without altering the timeline too much. The trials her emotions and logic puts her through have her questioning her very existance, but for the sake of peace she has to push forward. No matter what.
Thoughts: I hang onto this fic every week like a vulture, Sakura isn't out of character, she doesn't seem like a self insert and she's got such a strong bond with so many characters the story is multilayered and you genuinely feel like sakura's doing justice I hope to write a time travel fic like this some day

Summary :
After a freak accident, Aizawa suddenly finds himself many years in the past. Dealing with a young All Might who has no idea who he is, he has to find a way back to the present while going through the worst period of his life again: high school.
“Woah there!”
He heard a muffled voice behind him just as he keeled over backwards, still shaking from the shock that had hit him. Warm hands touched against his shoulders, steadying him before he could gracelessly flop to the ground. He couldn’t turn around to look, couldn’t see anything beyond what very clearly, very obviously wasn’t there.
In front of him in the distance, where the teacher’s dorms used to be, was nothing. Nothing but grass and trees. Nothing but part of the woods Shota remembered from his own time at U.A.
Thoughts : I recently stumbled onto this gem of an erasermight fic and OH LORD IM IN LOVE teenage Toshinori is an adorable bean and Shouta's inner commentary about how he's gonna strangle all might once he gets back to his own time is cracks me up

Summary :
When Izuku wakes up in the forest not far from his home, he isn't prepared for what's about to come next. Izuku's never dealt with time travel, after all, but that seems to be the least of his worries. He's not in his own timeline, for one, and he may or may not have been missing for the past few months.
With the threat of a future only Izuku knows about, a strange missing persons case, everyone around him getting suspicious, and a quirk he shouldn't have, Izuku has his work cut out for him.
Thoughts : A must read for everyone Izuku's confusion of what the hell is going on and how do I hold myself together really leaks through to the reader and his inner voice is uncanny people like to act he's real dark or all sunshine and rainbows but this fic doesn't fuck him up like others tend to do

Summary :
It's a dark coil of anger deep in the pit of his stomach, reminding him that he was the root, the catalyst, the trigger for their family's downward spiral. It did happen - he reminds himself harshly. He can't forget that, even if time has actually reset itself.
Todoroki Enji gets a second chance. It's up to him to see what he can do with it.
Thoughts : While the updates aren't weekly it's still consistently updated I love family healing stories most of all when it's the todoroki family the first chapter of enji's last action and then his actions to be better in the past are just ugh I love me some character development

Shuichi is certain that if he ever gave Bourbon the opportunity, he would be dead in minutes - if not seconds. Especially now that he's not just the man who killed Bourbon's best friend, but an Organization traitor as well.
Which is why he's rather confused when he finds Bourbon calmly sitting in Shuichi's hotel room, reading a book.
Thoughts : Shuichi's perspective on this whole ordeal is just confusion why is Bourbon doing this why why why but he's Shuichi so somehow you don't feel the pity you would with most characters anyways a very good akam fic AND AKEMI IS ALIVE OK ALL I NEED

Summary :
Hindsight is 20/20, but when Harry's last steps into the forest set him back further than he'd ever thought, he never realised how grateful he'd be to have Snape there to help too.
Thoughts: I don't understand how this author can be so big brained they didn't prolong things they didn't do unnecessary drama the characters got everything quickly done time travel is always full of cliches but this .. this is so original utterly timeless

Summary :
Severus had always believed that romance wasn’t for him. Everyone else believed him to be filthy death eater scum, and he agreed, never fathoming the concept of someone liking him enough to actually pursue a relationship with him.
Until one fine day in sixth year, when he finds himself with a small, adorable child clinging to his right leg, calling him Papa.
Thoughts : I never really cared for Jeverus until very very recently and this was one of the first fics I decided to read it's very cute and I'm utterly in love with Harry plus Lily is such a good friend even if she isn't completely perfect the updates are slow though just so yk

Tucker paid no price and transmuted his daughter. He paid the price and transmuted his mother. The difference was, Edward was a kid the first time around, he didn’t know just what he was doing. He knew it was taboo but that didn’t mean he knew the full extent to what performing human transmutation entailed. Or Edward gets a second chance and plans to do whatever it takes to make things right. He wasn't losing anyone this time around.
Thoughts : ok we all hate Shou Tucker I've only met like 3 bastards who think he's alright and they're all pieces of shit so I love seeing Edward go back and just be yk scheming and all jaded and ugh that's my boy right there Nina u poor bby

In a desperate attempt to save Mustang's stupid life, Ed finds himself back at the stupid portal. What does it plan to take from him this time?
Or, Roy and Ed get stuck in the past and need to find their way back before things go very, very wrong.
Thoughts : The updates are pretty steady and the scary thing is that mustang is slowly losing his memory and we're here panicking with Ed about how fast they can go back it's also just nice to see Roy's childhood and his friendship? with Ed
I'm going to make another list later on because I realized oh shit I haven't read any time travel fics from AOT and there's probably a bunch from smaller fandoms that haven't crossed my mind yet
