Boueibu Rewatch Part 5

Onto the second season! (Watched and typed this up on Tuesday, scheduled for Thursday!)

Episode One

The amount of times I audibly squealed at Kinshirou and En in this episode lol

Interesting that En's the one that didn't want to tell the council about the new monster. Normally you'd think it would be Atsushi.

Something to note... when Wombat appears, he's in fetal position then kinda jumps to attention. You know what is similar to this? His spawning in the movie trailer. So I'm really thinking that S1!Wombat and S2!Wombat are two separate entities out of the same hivemind... Like maybe the LoveMind was in a rush, and sent out an beta version of him in the first season to counteract CIDER, but for the second season (since everyone's appearances change to be more "youthful and fresh") he was able to upgrade?

OH! Something I noticed! Way back when, I took a screenshot of the airport exterior and posted it, because they misspelled "terminal" as "tarminal." But now, the version on Crunchyroll is spelled correctly. And I still have my offline versions, with and without Crunchyroll's subs, that has the error. So did they somehow change to the Bluray version? But they still don't have the pink and blue bars...

So I know green is Ibushi's color (aside from silver) but all I could think of was Ibuatsu. And then Kinshirou was wearing blue (En's color). Meanwhile, Akoya had his yellow and pink tie. (Could be Io and Ryuu, or it's a stretch but one of the twins since the VEPPer outfits have those colors... cough Akihiko cough)

Anyway, still think instead of having the twins talk to Tawarayama (which now that I think about it... is that actually supposed to be a flashback? Since they were on school grounds during the battle, but this shows them returning) they should've kidnapped Goura in that scene. Just outright eliminating the question of "are they after Goura?" and giving the Battle Lovers more motivation to fight during the season.

Episode Two

The Press Society were severely underutilized this season. Like I get their role was just to help the twins get popular when they started school, but they could've been shown more in the background here and there with the Apes...

Tofu Monster didn't really get a quality speech now that I think about it... Yumoto really just went "you're bottom of the barrel tofu" and left it at that. Like that's what the Tofu Monster had been hearing from all his classmates already, that he was lying about being special. Maybe he could've said "you don't have to try and pretend to be special in ways you're not--tofu has its own special qualities without needing to go the extra mile to impress someone!"

Also, now that I'm realizing it... The general consensus is we refer to the monsters as Loveless, right? But aside from Wombat's line in S1E1 about "loveless thinking loveless thoughts and taking loveless actions," I don't think it's used as a collective word for the monsters in the show itself?? What the Mandela Effect is going on? (Correct me if I'm wrong lol)

Episode Three

I'm still a bit peeved at Goura for telling Yumoto not to fight back against kids that were beating him up... Like, it's good to teach him not to start fights, but also that it's okay to end them!

Anyway, I love the Mic Monster's random English sprinkled into his lines lol

Oh no, It's Again

Hey guys! I'm having another "Did this happen in the show?" moment. This time though I'm wonder if there are different versions between what's on the DVD/BluRays vs what's on (or was on) the RT website/YouTube/ThirdParty sites. An example of this is like, during season 5 when Kai is introduced and Grif goes to give her back to Blue Team, Simmon's comes up and is talking with Grif about the 'Prisoner Exchange' - Now the first time I saw this and for what I assume is the same for DVD/BlueRay and the rest - Grif kinda of plays it off and starts walking away while Simmon's in confused like 'Where's your sister?' However apparently there's an alternate scene to this - someone on TY animated it using 'Chupathingy' creatures (it was a very neat and fun animation, they've done a few of them) and they used that scene, but they used an alternate version(?) of it because Grif starts saying she captured someone and it was a hostage situation Simmon's starts talking about some maneuver she used - which is obviously meant to be a kinky thing. I do not remember this scene on the DVDS or my rewatch before Restoration? However, I swore there WAS a DVD scene in the later season 7 when Grif was going to help Caboose... or maybe slightly earlier when Simmon's was becoming disillusioned with Sarge, and he'd gone off to sulk - and we end up with Grif trying to talk to him in the underground Hologram Chamber while Simmons was shooting Holo-Grifs. . . but they sorta just get into a fight before Grif leaves... I had been reading a fic that included this, and like, I was reading it and as I did I could see the scene in my head... it felt like I was recalling seeing that, except I had just rewatched all of RVB a week prior and was like, wait - did I miss seeing that this time? Does anyone know if this was a deleted scene, or an alternate take, or if I'm just doing that 'This moment in a Fic felt canon' again thing? I know sometimes in shows and movies you can see a scene and then in another iteration of it, it's not there. A PRIME example I have of this is when I watched Jurassic Park for the first time when it first aired in theaters. There's a moment after the main characters first arrive on the island, the groups are split up into two cars. As they are going along, Ellie got smacked in the face by a big plant, and the leaf that smacked into her got ripped off. THAT is why in the scene when they stop before seeing the Brachiosaurus, she's suddenly holding this big fucking leaf. But in the VHS and early DVDs, that scene was cut for time, so it's like.. if I hadn't seen that in the movie ages before, I'd be like. . . Where the fuck did that leaf come from? ANYWHO, that is to say, if anyone has any recollection of the scene I'm describing or if anyone knows of any scenes like this, feel free to comment and let me know.

A few more things that mutuals asked: Files Types, Naming, and Closed Captioning

I download subtitles/closed captioning from SubsceneDOTcom as SRT files.

It’s VERY IMPORTANT that you find the SRT file that fits your video. There’s tons of different formats and versions of each movie and TV show out there, and when you download a torrent, you’re not guaranteed to get a CC file along with it or even a CC file that works.

For example: GalaxyRG (movie ripper group) is great about getting new movies out quicker than most other groups, but they don’t seem to pay attention to their CC so half the time it doesn’t work at all and about another half of the leftover stuff isn’t timed right or just quits partway through the movie.

Pay attention the the rip type: WEBRip, BRRip, WEB-DL, BluRay, BDRip, etc. Pay attention to the X number: x264, x265

The frame size usually isn’t important, so if your movie is 720p but there’s a file that’s almost the same only it’s 1080p, it’ll still work.

Match all this information as closely as possible with the SRT file, and it should work.

There’s lots of other stuff in a file name, but nothing else matters as much as rip type and X number when it comes to CC.

All the other stuff is more about personal preference, and if you don’t know what they are, you probably won’t care.

For a movie, make sure the file is at least 700mb, but preferably 1.6gb to 3.5gb (unless you’re looking for super high quality and have tons of space for storage) as anything lower than 700mb won’t look or sound very good.

For a TV show, the lowest size I go is 250mb per episode, but I prefer 700mb to 1.2gb per episode depending on the show.

Be aware that HEVC files won’t play on all devices, so maybe stay away from those unless you know your device plays them.

The last thing to pay attention to with the CC file itself is the little codes at the end:

Regular or non-HI = Just plain subtitles of spoken word or translated subtitles

HI = Hearing Impaired (this will give you regular subtitles, plus noises & music lyrics)

CHI = Colored Hearing Impaired (this will give you regular subtitles color coded so you know which person is saying which line plus noises & music lyrics)

Make sure that, when you change the name of your movie/TV show files to tell Plex or whatever media server you use what the file is, both the video file and the SRT file need to have the EXACT SAME NAME.

To be sure this happens, copy the name from the video and paste it as you rename the SRT file and the folder they’re in. This will force the media player to use your SRT file automatically.

If you’re creating a storage drive with movies, the proper folder/file structure is: Movies < Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny 2023 < Video File + SRT File

If you’re creating a storage drive with TV shows, the proper folder/file structure is: TV Shows < The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles 1992 < Season 1 < Video Files + SRT Files with each season in a separate folder.

If you’re creating a storage drive with music, the proper folder/file structure is: Music < Indiana Jones < Self-Titled Album 2023 < mp3/flac files

If you’re careful when organizing the files, everything will work perfectly!

BTW if you find an RARBG (movie ripper group that quit a few months ago 😭) torrent, make sure and download that file. The video, audio, and CC quality will be PERFECT!!

my server vs netflix

Long post for a few mutuals who asked about this 🏴‍☠️

Netflix (according to the geeks on server forums -- so this could be off a bit) has individual servers that hold about 100TB of data each, and Netflix claims they have around 18,000 servers worldwide.

Netflix has about 3000 movies and 1800 TV shows available in the United States at any given time. It varies in other countries, but is similar.

This is my server below (pen for size comparison and purple sticky note covering the super bright blue light that bores into my brain)

It's got 5 drive bays, and right now I have 60TB of storage space in it (meaning it's just a little smaller than one of Netflix's servers), and only 37TB of which is currently used. I can easily expand with add-on bays once I fill up the 60TB.

I currently have 4470 movies and 862 TV series, all with closed captioning that I've curated and about 100 of the TV shows have bonus scenes and specials included.

My server cost me about $2700: $1200 for the 5-bay box and the rest was spent on hard drives over the course of 2 years -- 5 inside the server and 6 backup drives. I bought good drives when they were on sale.

I spent another $300 on a range extender for my house so mom and dad could watch in their bedrooms without interruption.

My home internet costs $50 a month and I'm able to serve friends and family in the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. It's not always accessible (sorry Australia and your shitty internet), but it's up most of the time.

I never take movies/TV shows off of my server, and all the TV shows have their original DVD soundtracks, so nobody has to worry I'm going to remove their faves or ruin soundtracks.

I take requests from anyone, adding it when I find it with no judgement on content.

I don't charge anyone for using my server, and yet I'm paying less than I used to for internet and streaming services.

My payments for internet and streaming for my business and two family houses (Charlie's house and my house) used to be $900 A MONTH ($450 of it was the business internet because ISPs gouge businesses even though the internet usage at the shop is less than home).

Just before I quit Cox Internet, they were about to raise the cost and my new total would've been $1000 per month.

My monthly payments are now $220 for internet service and streaming services. So within just a few months, the server paid for itself.

I still have YouTube TV, Netflix x2 (one for each house), Hulu, and Discovery+.

I'm not saying the average person can set this up, but I want to make it clear that streaming services aren't the mysterious, unknowable magic that people think they are.

They're just servers (hard drives) with data on them and a good internet connection.

Anyone can set up a home server. You don't need a $1200 box like mine. Even an old computer/laptop or single hard drive will work.

A brand new 2TB good-quality hard drive that could hold about 1000 movies or 60-80 TV series would only cost $60 plus another $29 for a basic enclosure/case. (I bought mine from NewEgg for backups)

I use Plex as my media server program. It has a free version and a paid version. I bought the lifetime pass on sale for $90. It goes on sale 2-3 times a year. There are other programs out there too, including Kodi, which has a Netflix skin so it looks like you're using Netflix.

Plex and other programs like it already have a huge library of metadata, so I didn't have to create my own cover art or fill in any other information other than title & year for movies or title + season + episode number for TV shows.

Careful naming of files and sorting in properly-named folders is all you need to have this:

It took me about 3 months to download and organize most of the movies and TV shows in between working and taking care of my home/family. Now I update the server once a week and it takes about 2 hours a week to download/update new TV shows and movies.

I wasn't able to torrent when I had Cox Internet, but the new $50/month ISP doesn't give a shit. Even so, I use a VPN, which is $9 a month just in case they ever decide to get touchy about torrenting.

The server does regular maintenance on itself, and I have backups of everything.

I realize not everyone has the tech skills to set something like this up, but even if one tech person in the family or circle of friends has the ability, they could serve around 60 people.

The most I've had streaming at one time was 10 separate people watching different things, and my server handled it with no problem.

Others on the server forum claim they've maxed out around 25 people simultaneously watching, but 60 people is the number suggested because not everybody will watch at the same time.

Streaming, as it currently works, does NOT support anyone related to the creation of TV shows and movies.

Hopefully this will change, but even if it does, that doesn't change the fact that I can easily support creators myself by buying their DVDs, merch, going to cons, and donating to them or their projects directly.

Right now, pirating movies and TV shows doesn't hurt creators because streaming services and big studios are the main villains, and if all you did was donate $5 to your favorite TV show/movie, you'd be giving them more than if you streamed their content as many times as you wanted each month on a big streaming service.

I have movies and TV shows on my server that aren't even available from content creators anymore due to greedy CEOs and execs who dump their content for tax breaks.

If more people switched to using their own servers, MAYBE it would scare the greedy assholes into paying content creators what they deserve, but in the meantime it's a great way to enjoy content that was created to be shared and to support the creators.

EDIT: I need to add that streaming a TV show/movie as much as possible in the first few weeks of the release date DOES help the show get renewed and the movie execs are more likely to buy future movies, so please stream as much as possible then to help content creators. After that time is up and the streaming service moves on, then it's totally fine to pirate.

‘My Next Life as A Villainess’ Anime is over...

SO WHAT NOW???

A lot of us are disappointed that Katarina’s adventures are finally over, and a lot of us are gonna miss watching the wacky hi-jinks of our dense villainess. I’ve seen a lot of people say that they will stop posting or paying attention to hamefura after the anime ends, and while I might be the same to some extent, I just want to say that there are still a lot of hamefura things to look forward to after the anime ends!

These are actually some very obvious things to look forward to, but you know I’d still like to share them so you can use them to fill the hole in your heart that the anime left behind.

The Manga

Hamefura still has an on-going manga that is currently in Chapter 3 of the Light Novels! A lot of you already read it, and understand that it can get frustrating when there’s a lack of updates on the english side of things, but if you’re really curious, you can go over and check out the JP releases every month so you can have an idea of whats to come for the manga :DD (The fan translation of ENG Chapter 26 came out a few days ago so you know it’s not dead!!)

I’d recommend reading the english translation on Mangadex, since most translation groups officially upload their translation on there. 

The Spin-off (Hametsuo/Bakarina Alter)

It deserves it’s own category for just how unique it is in terms of its reception in the western crowd. I know a lot of people probably read it, but I guess people barely talk about because it’s not really that far into it’s premise yet. 

I just can’t stop recommending this manga to people (despite not going where I thought it’d be) because of how good the art-style is and how much promise it has. It updates monthly, which I know is a long wait, but it does pay off when you see the quality of everything. Plus it’s just fun to imagine how hamefura would go if it followed the typical “villainess otome isekai” format.

The Light Novels

I’m happy to read that a lot of people are gonna go switch and buy the light novels after the anime ends! By the time the anime ends, the Vol. 6 of the LN would release a week later, acting kind of like a replacement of what is supposed to be a new episode for that week.

The fan-translated version of the web novel is available online, up until half of Vol. 4, but I still recommend buying the books on bookwalker (i don’t know if the sale is still there, but I’d recommend picking up the book regardless!). If reading the fan translation piqued your interest, then playing for the books would definitely worth your money if you ask me! 

An increase of sales might show them that there’s interest for this light novel, and might make them translate the JP novels even faster! (or maybe i’m just too impatient to wait 2-3 months for Volume 7 dshfjsfgs who knows?)

My only warning is that the tone really does shift post-arc 1 (Fortune Lover I) so if you’re looking for harem hijinks, from spoilers I’ve seen I think there would less of that and more of world building. (ps. please stop asking me where to read it ;;-;;)

Edit: Volume 8 is coming out in a few months, with Volume 9 probably being released at either Jan or Feb next year, then after that it’ll be a yearly update

StoryMe Otome Game

I’m surprised a lot of people doesn’t know about the StoryMe game, despite it updating every week alongside the anime. Just kidding I didn’t either lol, I actually found about this thanks to the hamefura reddit discord server! StoryMe is a choose-your-own-adventure otome game, kind of like those “Episodes” or “Chapters” game that gets recommended on Youtube a lot. 

It’s still in japanese, which is probably why not a lot of people knows of it yet, but it seems like you can play as Katarina and romance anyone from the entire harem (yes, the girls too), so keep you eyes peeled for if ever it gets an english translation!

It’s basically the bluray Fortune Lover game with the DVDs, but instead of Maria, you actually get to play as Katarina!

(I’ll make a separate post for this later, maybe)

Edit: The game just came out in English in September 16, and just spat out a 11-episode update at September 30

Katarina’s Farm

It’s a newly announced mobile game with a web trial version that centers around playing as Katarina, trying to earn money and points for expanding your farm land, planting more expensive plants and getting the other members of the harem to join you! It’s a 2D pixel game that seems like it wouldnt take too much time to play (you can get the first 4 characters within 30 minutes of gameplay, but that might be adjusted in the mobile version) so I understand if it might not interest some people, but that’s still something to look forward to!

The Bluray Otome Game

While I can’t say this for certain, but maybe if there was ever an official english bluray release, it might include the Fortune Lover Male Capture Target Routes that are included in the game. Maybe someone will play it and translate it even! It would interesting to see how different the boys are, and give us further appreciation for Katarina’s influence and changes!

There’s a preview for a CG in Keith’s Route, which comes with the second bluray (no pv for Geordo ;; w ;;)

The Second Season of the Anime

I seriously wasn’t expecting another season, considering how different the next arc is, but I’m happy nonetheless for more Bakarina! I hope this motivates the fans to continue supporting the series, as a bigger reaction will definitely lead to more content for us to enjoy! I have a theory about S2, which I think is worth the read :3c

Other Otome Isekais

There’s a lot of other Villainess Otome Isekai’s that are worth the read, and a lot of them as just as interesting as hamefura, despite the lack of a harem (from deep rooted revenge to hilarious and crazy villainess, there’s a lot!) The quickest recommendation I can give is just looking up “Akuyaku” and “Villainess” on Mangadex (do both btw they dont have the same results), but theres a lot that doesn’t get recommended so do your research! I swear it’s worth your time!

Anyways, I hope any of these fill the hole that the hamefura anime will leave in our hearts as we wait for season 2! (sorry for repeating the same line again hdsfgdjhsfg) Feel free to add anything like fanfic recommendations and artists, as I can’t cover everything on my own, as those really help provide hamefura fans with content :DD

Eren putting on his jacket was a scene many obsessed over when it first appeared on page and many looked forward to seeing it animated. Most of the response choices were focused on various forms of swooning over Eren and his abs. CONTINUITY ALERT! EREN HAS HIS HAIR UP IN A BUN IN YELENA’S FLASHBACK. THOUGHTS? 173 responses

Uh-oh, Eren’s hairstyle moment. It would appear that there might be a continuity error with Yelena’s flashback and whatever that means for the timeline. A slight plurality (37%) didn’t seem to care about this, actually. But 33.5% appeared to believe that it was a mistake on MAPPA’s part that might get fixed in the BluRay version of the episode. 16.8% also believe that it was a mistake, but don’t believe it’ll get fixed. 9.8% think that it’s actually a retcon and that Eren’ll have the man bun when Chapter 123 gets adapted in Final Season Part 2.  

I hope it gets fixed because it's bugging me.

I really wish it was like how it was in the manga. Eren looks good with his hair down in his 16-17-year-old phase. Despite the error, it wasn't a deal breaker for the episode.

As with almost all dialogue-heavy chapters in this series, there are cuts. In this episode, these cuts mostly affected the conversation between Yelena and Pixis. The most yearned for cut material was Yelena never telling Eren to go along with the plan and Yelena saying that she used Floch as a “go-between” between her and Eren. Others also noted missing lines about Yelena wanting Eren to stand up for himself, Yelena stating that Zeke gave the volunteers a hopeful future and the idea that her and Eren came to quick agreement. The plurality (31.9%) however, didn’t seem to mind any cuts.

There is often a sort of expectation to have everything (or almost every) line from the manga adapted in the anime, so it’s interesting to see how people react to that sort of stuff. An almost 50% of respondents stated that they didn’t really care about the cuts, whereas smaller handfuls of respondents stated that the cuts either took away from the characterization of the conversation, or from the context and timeline-building purposes.

There was a partially comedic insinuation in the manga that Zackley thought about strapping Eren to his “art piece”. The insinuation is possibly still there in the anime, but in a different form. So we asked how you felt about it. Slightly below a half (48.8%) stated that they thought the subtlety was still there. 18.8% thought the subtlety was lost with the small change and 8.8% believed the change made Zackley seem less unhinged. 21.8% really didn’t care at all.

Whether Eren truly knew about the bomb is a bit unclear to this day and with how it endangered Armin and Mikasa. A plurality (40%) believe he knew about the bomb, but did not know about his childhood friends meeting Zackley. Slightly less (30.6%) think that Eren did not know about either the bomb or AM meeting the Artist. A minority (7.1%) does believe that Eren knew about both the bomb and meeting and 21.8% simply aren’t sure!

Even if he didn’t know, he obviously doesn’t care either way.

A somewhat slight majority (57.1%) seemed to like the version seen in the promotional video more than the episode itself versus the ones who preferred the episode’s style (42.9%).

Floch has always been a controversial character and the developments seen post-time skip have not been any less debatable. You may floching love him or floching hate, but he’s here and he’s staying for a while. A plurality (48.8%) notes that although they may not personally be a fan of the character, they truly do appreciate the nuance his appearance gives to the story. Just over a quarter (25.3%) stated that as big fans of the character, they’re looking forward to all the screentime the Flochster will receive. In contrast, 20.6% despise the man and his questionable haircut and are also dreading the showcase he’ll soon receive.  

I hate Floch and will cheer again when he dies, but I enjoy his character.

An overwhelming amount of respondents (87.6%) stated that they believe Eren never truly saw eye to eye with Floch and his ideology and that Eren was simply using Floch as a means to an end. In contrast, 9.3% truly do think that Eren was ideologically similar to Floch and the “New Eldian Empire”. A select few thought you couldn’t just say one way or another.

While this plotline may not be going anywhere in the manga (or so it seems), the reminder of its existence is brought to light again as we revisit these older moments from the manga. 32.4% feel that Mikasa wouldn’t leave Paradis behind to start a life on Hizuru. 23.5% think that she wouldn’t leave Paradis behind, necessarily, but will still have a role to play in Hizuru. 21.2% think it doesn’t matter because Isayama has completely discarded (or forgotten) about this plotline. 12.4% don’t know what to predict (if anything) and only 8.2% believe that her future lies in Hizuru beyond the main storyline.

For scenes that were most anticipated, 35.7% were most looking forward to seeing Levi and Zeke’s interaction in the forest. 33.3% most looked forward to Niccolo leaning straight from Gabi’s mouth that she is Sasha’s killer. 18.7% highly anticipated the Blouses learning about Gabi killing Sasha, and 9.4% were looking forward to Gabi/Falco and the Blouses gathering at Niccolo’s restaurant. Only a small amount were looking forward to Niccolo protecting Jean and Connie from drinking the wine.

I thought Eren looked great and found the sun shining on his abs funny. The scenery was better in the episode, imo. I hope they don't cut Jean's line about booze not caring about what race you are. Great episode. Really ridiculous how many people overreacted about the jacket scene. It's ok to perfer the way the trailer did it but to those who say Mappa is ruining the adaptation because of minor things like this, calm down.

7th Stage Set List Speculation

I put way too much time and effort into thinking up a possible set list for 7th stage, and I’m sure it’ll be way off, but I’m curious how close I can get. Some clarifications, other ideas, and explanations below the read more. Be warned, it’s very long.

*This is not an official set Utapri 7th Stage list, just speculation.

Basic Layout:

1. This is all assuming they want something similar-ish to Maji Love Kingdom, plus solos and other recent songs. I didnt want to just copy the Maji Love Kingdom set list and whack some solos in there

2. Another order I considered was similar to the 5th stage layout where they did ‘character 1 solo, character 2 solo, character 3 solo, song they did together.’ I do think this is definitely possible for 7th stage, and if they do do this, it could be, for example, Tokiya solo, Cecil solo, Yamato solo, Colourfully Spark. I mainly didnt use this for my primary example because I figured it might be odd if they arent doing Quartet Night Solos. 

3. Not very notable, but I also placed the solos in the order the boys are usually in (Otoya, Masato, Natsuki, Tokiya, Ren, Syo, Cecil) with the matching Heavens order. 

4. I did my best to not have too much focus on one group to the point where you dont see another at all until the second half or later. This happened with 6th stage with Heavens not even being introduced until an hour and 45 minutes in. There is a bit of a gap without Quartet Night as Heavens and Starish do their solos, but I feel like this is a bit unnavoidable, and tried to counterbalance it by having the shining masterpiece songs (no heavens) before the solos. 

5. Of this speculative set list, I consider Setsugetsuka-Michibiki Hikari to be the first half, and Up Down Up-Welcome to Utapri Kingdom (just realised I wrote welcome to utapri world in the graphic but you get me) to be the second half. This doesnt matter too much, but it could be split this way across discs or have an interlude inbetween. There are less songs in the ‘second half’ but it does end up being around the same length when you consider we usually get about 2 20 minute talks at the end.

Explanations:

1. I didnt include Quartet Night songs for a few reasons. Mainly because they dont have any new ones released lately and there have already been two QN only lives with qnlf being the most recent main live since 6th stage. It’s certainly possible that they might include some repeats of older QN solos, but this set list is already at the same length and amount of songs as 6th stage, so it would add enough extra time to make 7th stage too long. 

2. Obviously I didnt include a Nagi solo because Wingu isn’t able to attend 7th stage. I assumed this would not affect other song selections and that they will likely have other members fill in for his parts in group songs.

3. I was unable to figure out which new set of solos for Heavens and Starish they would use. I didn’t decide the ones used for any particular reason, so I wouldn’t at all be surprised if different solos than I wrote are used. 

4. I used Setsugetsuka as the opener song, because I thought it would not only allow for special outfits to be worn by Starish and Quartet Night that could be chanegd after their introductions, but it also saved time (instead of having one starish song and one QN song, theyre combined). It’s not quite an exciting booming start to the live, but it is a very well loved song by the fandom that hasnt been performed yet, and the first few notes are very recognisable. I can also imagine it fading nicely into a Heavens group song  I’m not sure about this choice, but I couldnt quite shake the idea, so I kept it. Wouldn’t be surprised if they started with the same three group songs as Maji Love Kingdom though. 

5. In general, I tried to consider things like outfit changes, the time of each song, having a first and second half that can be split onto two discs for dvd/bluray release, and most importantly perhaps, not having the same seiyuu perform too many times in a row to avoid them getting too exhausted.

6.  I found it very hard to place Encore. Unlike a lot of the other Mamo songs, it isnt exactly a hype, exciting song to start off a live (after the initial group songs) but it also doesnt really work in the middle after the solos, or towards the end. Having the song be called ‘encore’ and being played during the credits of Maji Love Kingdom really give that vibe that it should be an encore song.

7. I don’t think they would want 4 Quartet Night+Starish joint songs without Heavens (as it would cause a bit of an imbalance) so I figure they might do either the Shining CD 2 songs or the upcoming Black/White songs that are released shortly before the live. For now I’ve gone with Wonder Rondo and Dancing Over Night because we dont know the length of the Black/White songs.

 “Things that would be cool but probably won’t happen”:

1. I placed Encore towards the start of my set list, but theres something that I would love to see, no matter where its placed. If the song starts with Mamo singing, as expected, until about 30 seconds in when slowly all other seiyuu would walk on stage and join in. This would allow the song to be used as an encore with all seiyuu, or just help build variety and excitement to an otherwise (albeit intense) but slower more emotional song. It also lines up well with the songs build itself as well as the MV that slowly includes more and more people. 

2. More special outfits for Setsugetsuka and the Shining Masterpiece songs and more special outfits/performances in general. I think this is the reason why previous performances like Koizakura and other Shining Theatre songs are so memorable.

3. Pretty sure this one is almost 100% not happening, but, I want Sawashiro Miyuki as a guest to sing Maigo no Kokoro, Haru’s solo song from the first season of the anime. It’s so often forgotten, but its a beautiful song. This would also serve as a nice interlude for the boys to have an outfit change or change staging etc. 

4. I feel like there should maybe be a third encore song, but I couldnt choose a good one. It feels odd to not have 1000% or 2000%, so a version of them with all three groups is possible. If they are going to have a new version of an older song, I feel like a Mirai Chizu would be a great choice. Not only does it suit an encore (emotionally and lyrically speaking), but they haven’t performed it since 1st stage, and I feel like it could work really well with all groups together. Or it could be some kind of new medley or song entirely. 

5. Of course, there are 3 big things we’d all like to see announced at 7th stage. These being: a 5th season of the anime or some kind of sequel, Dolce Vita news, and a large scale update to shining live (eg, adding Heavens.)

Stats of my set list:

1. The total song time of my set list is 2 hours and 20 minutes with an hour and a half of extra time including a shining dancers or other interlude, introduction video, talks, about 5-10 seconds inbetween songs, audience encore call, and goodbyes. 

2. The final time of this set list would be about 3 hours and 48 minutes. 

3. For the performance on the 18th for example, doors open at 2pm, and 7th stage begins at 4:30. With this set list, it seems like it would end at about 8:15-8:30pm which allows for enough time to exit the dome before 9:00pm.

4. There are 33 songs in this set list (one talk is incorrectly labeled as an extra song in the graphic) which is the same as 6th stage.

For anyone who’s gotten this far, thank you. This is literally essay length and I wrote it in 50 minutes. It was a lot of fun thinking up this set list, so I’m excited to see if im at all accurate, or 100% wrong. Either way I’m so excited to see the actual set list.

Closed Circuit 2020 Movie Review

After being in the market for a new movie I decided to review the upcoming Closed Circuit movie. I know that it's been awhile since the last one came out but I was happy with the results.

It seems that the producers are working hard to make this year's version of the famous NASCAR racing series as realistic as possible. As someone who has followed this series for many years I can tell you that they've really taken their time with the production and the story. In the Closed Circuit movie the plot is a bit different than the previous movie. Instead of the central character winning the championship race he ends up winning because of a cheating system that he uses. This system is similar to what the NASCAR team owners use today. It's just that instead of using human error they use a sophisticated system that is designed by a genius.

The genius is actually Tony Stewart, the team owner, who is in charge of the company that developed the program. As he was reading over a piece of software he found a flaw in it that gave him an edge over his competitors.

In the last movie the main characters were able to fix the problem themselves. Tony wasn't satisfied with that because it didn't seem realistic. So he brought in another genius who could help him fix the problem. The difference in this case is that Tony has to use his power to help get the solution.

I think it will be interesting to see how Tony uses his power and how his main characters use their abilities. If they do well in this movie then maybe they will become even better in the future.

As far as the plot itself goes, I'm not sure whether it will live up to what fans of the series want to see. Maybe they will just have to wait and see what happens but at least they'll have something to look forward to when watching this movie.

I'm going to have a hard time giving a Closed Circuit movie a bad review. In fact, I'm expecting it to be a huge hit and something that will change my perception on this series all over again.

The main characters are Tony Stewart, who is the main driver of the car and Michael Andretti, who is his crew chief. Other characters include Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch's wife Angela and his son Kyle. They all live in Virginia and get into some pretty crazy car crashes in order to win.

I am really interested to see how this series will tie in with the current racing series of the same name. If you know anything about NASCAR then you know that the races they have are doing now will be in some ways similar to what the Closed Circuit races will be like. Fans of this series will be thrilled to find out that they will be introduced to NASCAR. in the future and it will give them an opportunity to check out what the future holds for this great racing sport.

The storyline in the Closed Circuit movie is very suspenseful and it is so well done that it's almost hard to believe that it is happening on television. When you are watching it you don't see the characters being hurt or killed.

That's not to say it isn't exciting, it's just that you don't realize it until it's over. In fact the last couple minutes of the movie is so suspenseful that you almost start to wonder if the race will ever finish. Even though it doesn't end on a bang, I guess I'm glad that it didn't because this movie deserves one.

The Closed Circuit 2020 Movie Story

In the gripping and suspenseful Closed Circuit 2020 movie, an ordinary woman must do the impossible: defend her husband from a wrongful death suit brought against him by the wife of the deceased terrorist who killed him. A former CIA agent, Spencer (John Tutturro) is suddenly thrust into the middle of this complicated conflict when his ex-wife and daughter are implicated in the case. Meanwhile, a terrorist attack on London occurs, resulting in the arrest of suspected terrorist Farroukh Erdogan (Kevin Bacon).

Claudia Simpson is one of the best leading actors around, especially when it comes to roles like this. She plays an ambitious woman with an extraordinary amount of ambition. She is committed to her work and loves her life as a freelance journalist. She is passionate about her work and is ready to go the distance for it. Her character is also motivated by love and loyalty to her family.

Claudia Simpson is also talented in portraying a very vulnerable side of herself. Her performance as a vulnerable and emotional character gives the viewer the feeling that we are actually right there with her in this highly charged situation. There are many people who are passionate about their jobs and yet have such a difficult time being the life and soul of their family.

As an actress, Claudia Simpson has a lot of skill to bring to every role she portrays. Her dedication to work is evident throughout the series, and even in the short scene where she appears on the street and tries to hail a cab, the intensity of her dedication shines through. She also has a talent for showing real emotions and moments of sadness.

With a great deal of energy and determination, Claudia Simpson makes a convincing argument that she has been a victim of a wrongful death suit brought against her husband, even though it was a crime that he had committed before she was even married him. She makes a convincing argument that the charges should not be brought against her because she is the victim of his crime. Even though she may seem convincing to a judge or jury, she ends up failing to convince a jury in court.

However, what really makes Claudia Simpson's character believable is her personal experience with wrongful death. As an ex-journalist, she is deeply familiar with the complications involved in representing a case of wrongful death. She knows that a wrongful death case is one of those that can be hard to win, but that she needs to stand strong in order to win.

It is clear from the beginning that Claudia Simpson is a fighter. Her character is determined to put on a brave face and carry out her job despite her emotional and physical pain. She is determined to get her husband to the witness protection program even when she knows that doing so will lead to her husband's death.

For fans of movies about wrongful death and murder cases, the Closed Circuit story is definitely a must watch. Not only does it have the thrill of a thrilling crime thriller, but also a good dose of drama. It is a must-see film for anyone who is interested in justice. and fairness.

As a side note, the film is also very funny. There are a number of hilarious scenes, and the dialogues between characters is definitely entertaining. It is a must-see for anybody who enjoys watching a well-written story and a solid performance by the actors.

When it comes to casting, Claudia Simpson gets a great performance as the lead role. She plays an important role in the story and shows a lot of character as a character who was at the center of the action, and who was left for dead after the crime took place of her husband's. In terms of other characters, she plays the character of Sarah, a prosecutor who is assigned to the case of the defendant who did not get arrested, and has to handle a wrongful death case.

Overall, this is a great movie for fans of movies with a great cast, and a plot that will keep the audience riveted to the screen. It is fun to watch, and it is an excellent crime thriller that are not too suspenseful. suspenseful for being completely unbelievable.

I’ve been tagged a lot lately, which is awesome and I want to thank you all for that! :) To this one I was tagged by @charlotte-lancer.

Play time: List your five favourite movies and why, then tag some more players.

This is actually extremely hard question as I’m a massive movie freak. I watch so many movies and I pretty much watch anything that is not a) romantic movie b) romantic comedy or c) a horror movie. Thrillers are okay, but I don’t like movies that build up a certain tension. I have anxiety disorder of my own so I don’t need anything to add more fuel into it.

I also own so many dvds and blurays that I had to go and see my collection to remember what I even like and I still feel like there’s tens of movies that should make to the list but I don’t want to remove any of the existing ones because they should be on the list as well! But I will mention here 5 movies that mean something to me or that I have attached to for whatever reason, but I’d say only the first one in the list is actually the favouriteFAVOURITE movie, the rest are in just a random order. I’ll put this under the read more link as this is gonna be a veeeery long post!

Beetlejuice (1988) I am a fan of Tim Burton. I have seen his movies so many times and I love Danny Elfman’s scores especially in his movies. In fact, when I was a kid, Burton’s movies were always my fave ones but I was probably a teenager when I finally started to connect the dots and realized my favorites were always from the same man. And so were the scores too! This is also one of those movies from my childhood that I have seen so, so many times and I have called different Burton movies as my favourite movies but somehow I just always go back to Beetlejuice and then one day I just realized that hey, why do I even try to choose the one as this apparently IS the favourite one! So, this is my fave from Burton AND from all the movies I have seen.

And why? The humour is just perfect here, I live from dark humour and there’s so much of that in the movie! And I have also always been so fascinated by the idea of death not being permanent, makes my fear of death a lot easier. As you might know already, this movie is about a couple who die and become ghosts and try to survive with the family moving into their old house, trying to make them move out but failing. And I just LOVE how Burton has imagined what death is like! There is so much to see and I feel like I see something new every time I watch that movie and I just love it when movies or any media has so much details in it. And I have always been saying that if death is like the one in Beetlejuice (I said it for the third time now, whooooops), I’m really happy to die one day.

The Dark Knight (2008) This I just HAVE TO include into this list because of memories. I was 17 when this movie came out. I remember not being interested in the newer Batman movies at all but then one day I watched Batman Begins (2005) from tv and the last frame of that movie caused me to go crazy and I knew that the next movie would be even more interesting. Then it was confirmed that TDK will have the Joker in it and I’ve been a Batman fan since I was 7-8 years old and Joker has always been my fave villain from the Batman universe. I was watching the 60s tv show as a kid and I had seen Burton’s Batman (1989) many times before as well, and that movie also has the Joker in it.

A remember following the news of the movie so closely all the time and I remember the news about hem casting Heath Ledger, who was a new name for me but seemed very interesting for the role, but sadly passed away before the movie even came out. When the movie finally did come out, I was so blown away by Ledger’s work as the Joker that I still cannot decide who has been my favorite Joker of all times. But he’s at the very top of that list, for sure. And that whole movie was just the best thing the 17-years-old me had seen in a while that I actually did go to see it 3 times in the movies. I even drew kind of fan art of the movie and I had 2 TDK Posters on my walls, as well as 2 Joker posters on my walls and I still plan on hanging the Why so serious? poster to somewhere one day.

As a side note, I also like Christopher Nolan’s other movies a lot but TDK is definitely a favorite from them. I have seen almost all of his other movies and they all are really fascinating and interesting and I just love Hans Zimmer’s music and the combination is so perfect. I have to mention that my other favorites are definitely Interstellar (2014), The Prestige (2006) and Inception (2010).

Life of Brian (1979) I’m a Monty Python fan and this movie is yet again a part of my childhood. I have seen this movie millions of times and I never get bored with it and I never get over how funny the jokes are. I will laugh for the same jokes every time, no matter how many times I would watch this movie. My favorite scene is simply the one where Brian jumps into this pit and the man there starts jumping and finally notices the crowd and hides again. I cannot explain why, but I just find things like that way too funny :DDDDDDDDDD And it’s not even close as funny when I try to explain it, so look for yourself. I’m still losing it during that scene XD

And it’s not only funny, but it also has some really smart, hmmmm, perceptions of the world to it. I love that scene where Brian is trying to tell the people not to follow him because they don’t need to follow anyone and they’re individuals and should use their own brains, and these people just don’t understand a thing, they will just praise the ground under Brian’s feet no matter what he would say.

Breakfast on Pluto (2005) With this one I’m not exactly sure what happened with this one. I was just quitting my antidepressants when I saw this movie and I had just got all my emotions and ability to feel back so I don’t know if I fell in love with this movie because of my brain chemicals trying to get their shit together, or if I would have fallen in love with this movie anyway if I saw it some other time. But this one still gives me so strong reactions every time I watch it and especially the starting and ending music causes me so strong wave of happiness that I feel like exploding and I wanna cry from happiness. Oh and I watched that movie 3 times within one week back then. I feel like the antidepressant did have something to do with this.

Amadeus (1984) / Se7en (1995) / Donnie Darko (2001) / A Beautiful Mind (2001) / Joker (2019) The last one is actually impossible to name now. There’s so many good movies out there and I’m already leaving out some of the best ones. Some are classics and some are just movies from my childhood that I grew up with and attached to. TV was pretty much my biggest friend when I was growing up! So here’s a bunch of movies that I wanted to mention as they also tell a little bit of the movie genres as well. Shortly:

Amadeus - Another one from my childhood and it’s a biography film over Mozart. I don’t know why I grew to attached to this film but I feel like ever since I’ve had this need to rewatch this every once in a while. Because of this movie I get chills every time some of the Mozart music pieces used in the movie play somewhere. I don’t know if I like the music or if they just remind me of this movie. And for some reason, after seeing the movie millions of times, at the age of 9 or so I suddenly was so upset after a character’s death.

Se7en - I was bit older when I saw this (thank gods) and this is a good example of the type of thrillers I like to watch. And this movie’s plot is insane and it has one of the best endings to a movie that I know. I won’t say what kind of feelings it wakes up, but some very strong feelings. And this reminds of the fact now that I forgot to mention The Green Mile, which is also one of the best movies I know. Gosh this post is failing so badly already :D

Donnie Darko; A Beautiful Mind - Both have a plot that is wrapped around a mental illness. I actually like to watch movies about mental illness a lot, “Girl, interrupted” is also one of those movies that I like a lot. These movies are nothing like each other but both basically do a portrayal of schizophrenia. Donnie Darko is of course a bit more scifi and A Beautiful Mind is a biographical movie. I actually saw Donnie Darko for the first time several years ago, I was to school and watched it from Netflix and wanted to rewatch it so badly but it got deleted from Netflix and finally I was able to find it on a blueray and now it’s in my shelf and I love that movie.

Joker - This is definitely the best movie of the 2019 imho. Again, pretty much a movie about mental illness. I was bit afraid first that it would make the treatment of mentally ill people take a turn back(?) and would make healthy people be afraid of us instead of make them open their eyes, but I’m happy it didn’t turn out that way. But I feel like the people who got upset after the movie are actually relating to the groups attacked in the movie as maybe they finally (subconsciously?) realized what COULD happen in the world if things keep going like they’ve been going so far. But as a mentally ill person, I just got so attached to this movie. Plus I’m still a Batman fan whose fave villain ever is Joker and this was another great version and even greater portrayal of the character.

And that’s it, no more text. No idea if anyone found this even slightly interesting but oh well, I don’t care, it was still fun writing all that. And I’m so tired after this now that I don’t really have energy for tagging anyone but I guess I could tag at least someone or some people... let’s see... okay, @hanhan156, I’m gonna tag you! :D I have no idea if you watch movies and how often/many if so, but do this if you want! my thoughts on Ryo leaving Johnnys

Hello everyone.  Some of you are worried about me. I’m good. In order to properly heal I’ve decided to write down my feelings and process. So here we go.

Around March when Ryo’s rumours first appeared, I had an anxiety attack. I’ve been having them for maybe 10 years but only found out that they were anxiety attacks last year. So the last anxiety attack was the push I needed to finally seek help for mental health which I kept postponing for years. 6 months later with meds, therapy & me delving into spirituality I believe I had become a better man. All because of Ryo.

For you see the last 3 years I used ryo & kanjani8 as a coping mechanism to deal with stress. I knew I was being unhealthily dependant but I had no other avenues for relief & distraction. Every time someone tweeted or whispered about ryo leaving, the uncertainty causes my anxiety to spike & I had to use multiple tools I learnt to prevent another anxiety attack. K8 had become an anxiety trigger. But I am responsible for my trigger and for months I tried to find ways to unplugged them as a trigger without success. It corrupted my enjoyment of them. But now I feel relieved. There is no more uncertainty. It happened without a shadow of doubt. I am unburdened. All because of Ryo.

I only listen to exclusively only kanjani8 music the last 3-4 years. Watched almost all their variety shows. Seen every k8 member movie & watched nearly all of ryo’s projects. The joy and relief they brought me was/is incomparable. They were my joy personified. (Which was unhealthy since joy must come from within) Anyways this was all because I picked up a subbed dvd set of zenkai girl in my local store. All because of Ryo.

I got know so many wonderful people in the fandom who help encourage me through my treatment. Who I got to express the trashiest and kindest version of myself to. Some of whom I fervently hope will remain friends for a long time. I help spread the amazingness of Kanjani8 to so many people. I never regret all the time & energy & money I spent on Kanjani8! (well maybe some magazine purchases :p). All because of Ryo

I am not angry at Ryo. I am sad but not an atom of anger. Why should be angry at the person who is source of my growth-healing & joy? A lot of people are angry saying he failed to keep his promise to K8 & fans when Subaru left, but Iyanla Vanzant who helped me a lot spiritually these last few months, said this “YOU have the right to change your mind, and its ok”. We should not take it so personally. People change. As people change, their needs change. When people have a need, it is their responsibility to themselves to see their needs are met. And it has absolutely nothing to do with you. Somewhere along the way which I suspect was at the end of 2018, Ryo changed his mind & made a decision that will benefit his life. That doesn’t mean what ryo said at GR8EST wasn’t true. It was true at the time with the knowledge he had at the time.

I’m sad ryo is leaving but I love ryo; truly & genuinely. And as Maya Angelou “love doesn’t bind, love liberates”. I love ryo, I love him as my awkward easily frighten idol, I love him as an actor whose tears are a thing of beauty, I love him. I would like Ryo to be in Kanjani8, I’d like to see him 3 times a week, I’d like to able to watch him perform on bluray every year but that’s not possible now. So to Ryo go, I liberate you from being obligated to please me. Go find your purpose in life.

I do not know what I should do as fan moving forward. I haven’t figure it out yet. With my fan twitter acc or my tumblr. K8 is my life. A few months ago I wistfully said to myself if he was to leave or K8 disbanded I will still be a Ryo fan & support his endeavours. I think that remains true. I was a Ryo fan first before I became an eighter I know I’ll remain as Ryo fan till the end. I will probably be around but less active. Sorry this part isn’t as clear as the rest.

All things in life are lessons to be learnt. So what have I learnt from all this? Kanjani8 (7nin & 6nin era) was what I desperately needed at the time, they were there for a reason, they served their purpose for me and now maybe God is saying “time to rely on yourself now & grow”. Maybe 5 nin kanjani8 will do the same for others as they did for me. Another thing I learnt people show their love in different ways. This is how Subaru wanted to leave (performing a concert before announcing) to give fans an unblemished experience of a K8 concert. And this what ryo offered to his fans. It may not be exactly what we wanted but it was his way nevertheless.

I am in the fandom relatively recently. Only 3-4 years but it sure was a hell of a lot of fun. Moving forward I know I will still hugely support 5nin Kanjani8 and Ryo. Or maybe not, like Ryo I might change my mind lol.

@EiffelSavin: I'm not sure about this. I think the only version I ever heard was the opening version. For your info our US partners felt very strongly about using that song.  I gave my OK because it was pretty catchy, even though the op credits were created to match Yoko Kanno's title song.

@EiffelSavin;: Sul came right after and would certainly have fared better if the question was who's your favorite alien character. Bear in mind that the list of choices here included some of the main characters of the show, like Jordan and Aikka and that one could only give a single answer.

@rhodanum: I'm quite surprised at how high Spirit ranked (higher than Stan, Don and Maya!) and that Jordan ranked higher than Aikka. The latter is especially surprising, given the gigantic number of fanworks (fanart, fanfic) featuring Aikka or Aikka x Eva, compared to Jordan or Jordan x Eva

@EiffelSavin: Aikka ranked first in some territories but overall Jordan came first - among the voters at least. I would be interesting to see if female and male voters voted equally - or predominantly - for one or the other...

@EiffelSavin: Here are the programs the team used for the animation: Pencils (well sharpened), large and thin Erasers, and most important: thousands and thousands of sheets of Paper 😉

@EiffelSavin: Oban used digital paint and compositing. When we produced the series it was the very last days of painted cells in Japan, where it lasted longer than in other countries. I think the last series that used painted cells was "Sazae-san". 🙂

Method: We conducted a survey via tumblr asking fans of Yuri on Ice what they thought about the recent news regarding Ice Adolescence - the upcoming Yuri on Ice movie, and their hopes on what it might feature.

Number of participants: 415

Limitations: Likely reached only the most active fans in the fandom and may not be representative of the entire community (especially of more casual fans), mostly based on the follower-bases of the bloggers @thatshamelessyaoishipper and @nikiforoov. Around 5% margin of error.

Findings:

In the question “What do you hope to see in the movie ‘Ice Adolescence’?”, the responses were the following.

87% of participants said they want to see Yuuri in some shape or form.

86,3% stated they want to see Victor’s family or a reason he doesn’t have one.

83,9% said they want to see some scenes from the present day or some form of continuation of the events from season 1.

77,6% stated they would like to see Victor’s old skating programs.

76,1% said they want to see Victor receiving Makkachin.

74,9% stated they would like to see Victor cutting his hair.

65,5% said they want to see other skaters in their younger forms.

62,4% stated they want to see Yakov being a father figure to Victor.

57,6% said they would like to see the Russian figure skating team (Georgi, Mila, etc.)

And 57,1% stated they want to see Victor becoming friends with Chris.

Meanwhile, in the “other” section:

2% wrote that they are open to anything and everything.

2% answered that they want to see Yuuri and Victor get married.

1,2% want to see Yakov and Lilia back when they were married.

Banana Fish episode 11 reaction post. Spoilers.

Overall, I liked the episode. It was a nice change of pace compared to the heaviness of the narrative up to this point. It’s nice to have a breather. I’m a bit worried when a certain key line missing from this episode will surface.

Please be aware that there are spoilers below.

I was thinking about the “It’s always like that” comment about Ash just flopping down on the bed like he’s going to fall asleep immediately, and it really kind of makes sense. I mean like when they go to Cape Cod, he’s awake while the others are sleeping. His going to sleep schedule is probably 100% built around exhaustion.

Eiji’s got a phone again. I wonder if this is a burner phone the gang has lying around he can use. I hope he gets to keep it. It’d be nice for him to have photography as an outlet (maybe coping mechanism?)

I’ve always been curious who the gang thinks Eiji is at first. Like Ash is all “keep an eye on him while I’m gone,” then Eiji gets to wake him up without repercussions, and then Eiji just kind of stays. Although I feel like 80’s vs. 10’s would come into play here for possibilities.

I’m glad we didn’t see Ash’s ass. I didn’t want to.

The “as long as there are no fingers in it” joke is really REALLY dorky without the actual punchline. Like I like the manga version better but I do like how this version accidentally upped the dork factor here. Also kind of makes me wonder what will get changed/added in/whatever when they clean stuff up for the BluRay and DVD version because I could maybe see it getting amended for home release especially given the fist positions.

”My words might not mean anything now,” could explain why they held off on giving Eiji’s response later in the conversation. I bet we’ll get a call back where Eiji responds when his words really do mean something. I could see that coming at the end of the entire series, but considering there’s a corresponding image to his response in the opening credits, perhaps it will come just before a dialogue that will be happening in the next episode or two. Although if it does come at the end of the series, I can see why they would put the frame in the first opening sequence since this is the episode we would expect the line.

I can kind of see why the computer scene got changed because maybe it’d be too hard to convey Eiji flying off at Ash in Japanese without a little note like in his speech bubble that he’s doing so since that’s not really the anime’s aesthetic. I do, however, like the potential that in universe the conversation about Eiji having a little sister might have led to him mentioning whatever she calls him oniichan maybe and Ash is using it to be snarky here.

I like how BF just trucks along all in the ‘10’s in the 10’s tra la la in the ‘10’s and then we get to like stock hacking and off shore account shenanigans that you’d kind of want to believe have protections against nowadays even if you had Dino's passcodes and it’s like and we’re back in the 80’s. That said, get rekt, Dino.

The end scene on the subway lacked its context because I feel like the manga tried to justify it more though I always thought the stabbing was BS. To see it here so weakly done is like why? The episode was doing so well up to this point.

Mplayer For Windows 7

Among the bigger news is that we found a maintainer for the X11 gmplayer GUI, so those holding out on it against our earlier recommendations will get a lot of bug fixes.

There is also support for more subtitle types (Bluray, DVB, DVB closed-caption for example), many improvements to -vo gl including output of 10 bit video, very basic but usable OpenGL ES support and much better SDL support which makes it a usable choice on OSX (particularly on older PowerPC variants much faster than corevideo or quartz). MPlayer will now also try much harder to handle intermittent network failures, for example trying to reconnect.

As part of the code cleanup efforts, the internal libfaad2 copy has been removed since the FFmpeg decoder is working well. Also the internal mp3lib copy is no longer used by default since the many alternatives (FFmpeg, libmpg123, libmad) avoid its recurring issues like incorrect decoding with newer compilers. However it can still be forced at runtime for easier tracking of regressions. Please do not rely on this since it will be removed in the future. If you do not actually need it consider disabling it at compile time with --disable-mp3lib.

As a first for this release, the tarballs are available in two variants: compressed with xz and compressed with gzip. Please get the xz variant if you can to save bandwidth, the gzip version is for everyone that cannot use it. Should you never have encountered xz compressed files, newer versions of tar can uncompress it via 'tar xJf MPlayer-1.1.tar.xz'.

I needed a simple command-ling media player, and this was perfect! Extremely lightweight and very versatile. I use it for some custom clip management and window capture for streamers to use when broadcasting using the OBS Studio streaming/broadcasting software on Twitch. I take chat commands that create a text semaphore/trigger file, and when the script sees the trigger, it uses this Mplayer utility to play. I am just doing this for fun, and to help streamers offer a little something extra. if a streamer wants to rotate 8 different 'Hug' clips when a viewer runs the '!hug @somename' command in chat, there should be a utility that can launch the clips when the commands are run, then rotate the clips so if 4 or 5 people use the 'Hug' command to hug each other, it doesn't just play the same clip over and over. The fact that you can title the player window allows a streamer to have a few different windows captures set up. Maybe 1 for fullscreen clips with a chromakey filter, a regular fullscreen clip fo speciual event clips, and maybe ones for subscriber 'intro clips' they use when they join chat to announce their presence in style. Maybe another for 'accent clips/memes', so users can add commentary by launching clips at proper moments, like a '!rip' command that plays a rotation of funny 'I'm dead' clips when the streamer dies playing a game. The streamer just ads these 3 or 4 window capture sources to each scene they want clips to be available, then the script/utility launches each clip with the appropriate window title to have it play at the right size and location. I'd love to see someone actualy do this properly. I have it all working. I just needed a 'lighter' player that was flexible enough to support all the different clip types. I was using VLC Media Player, but it did noy play smoothly, often hitching/lagging for a split second when launching clips, making it seems rough and 'unfinished'. This gives a smooth and polished feel when playing the clips.

This is awesome. No more need to fire-up some heavy graphical user interface just to listen to audio streams! (Sorry I couldn't do this, due to a complete lack of free time here!) The only thing lacking, instructions how to install mplayer.exe and instructions concerning how to use with Cygwin. Basically, the mplayer.exe goes within your $PATH. I'm not sure where the other sub-folders should reside, but I simply created a symbolic link using Cygwin for my usage here. (ie. See below Cygwin Instructions) Initial execution of mplayer.exe seemed to search all of Windows fonts. Successive exections of mplayer.exe appeared to forgo the font searching, resulting in the usual quick start of the program. For cygwin users: 1) Unpackage the mplayer package to a folder. 2) Start cygwin and make sure you have a local bin folder (ie. /home/user/bin) within your path. If not, create the folder and modify your local $PATH to include your /home/user/bin folder, replacing the 'user' with your user name. 3) Type 'ln -s /place/where/you/unpackaged/mplayer/mplayer.exe /home/user/bin/' 4) If you prefer using .exe' command suffixes or are required to, and you have 'mplayer' aliases within you Linux bashrc and are copying the Linux bashrc over to Windows' Cygwin, then open the bashrc file within vim and type ':%s/mplayer /mplayer.exe /gc' without quotes. The command will aide in replacing the 'mplayer ' with 'mplayer.exe '. Most Cygwin users can skip this as Cygwin seems to recognize commands without the '.exe' suffix!

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST SPECIAL INTERVIEW: ROMI PARK x RYOSUKE YAMADA - When the 2 Eds Meet!!

Fullmetal Alchemist, the movie that has been attracting attention and is soon to be the opening screening at the Tokyo International Film Festival. Ryosuke Yamada and Romi Park, together as two fans of the manga who have played the protagonist Ed in the live action and anime versions respectively, discuss their thoughts on the passionate love for FMA and its adaptation to live action.

"I cried like a baby at the scene with Ed, Al, and Winry" (Park)

It's almost time for the opening of the live action movie of Fullmetal Alchemist, an almost legendary dark fantasy manga that has sold a total of 70 million copies as a series worldwide and has had 2 anime adaptations. Ryosuke Yamada, who with an extraordinary resolve took on filming as the lead role [of the movie], is actually close friends with the long time voice of anime version Ed, Romi Park. We started by asking the two fans of the manga to tell us the story of how they met.

Y: The first time I met her was over lunch. Because Romi-chan is the Ed that I've always seen, I kept fidgeting unsure of what to do... Her personality also resembles Ed... how should I put it, she's cool. She told me her honest feelings about the live action adaptation and, after watching the movie very attentively, she also gave me her exact impressions on it so I was very happy. We talked about a lot of things like the hardships that only someone playing Ed would understand and It was a wonderful time.

P: The first impression I had of Yamada-kun was "what beautiful eyes this kid has!" Straight ahead, the inside of those transparent eyes were full to the brim with a fighting spirit intent on carrying Fullmetal Alchemist on his shoulders to the very best of his ability... As someone who played the same Ed, I also started overflowing with more happiness than I thought I would.

At the time [of the anime] Park, the senpai Ed, also felt the pressure of playing the protagonist of this worldwide popular work.

P: The work Fullmetal Alchemist itself is something quite like a black hole and this monster created by (Hiromu) Arakawa Sensei takes everything away from you. That's why, in order to carry [FMA], it's important to be able to take an enormous amount of heat. It's just like, "Your body, mind, soul, everything, hand it over!" because it's constantly doing a lot of tampering with your interior. Every week, every week I submitted myself to this monster with all my power, would be wrapped up in it, and would have everything taken away. It was a work that needed that much infinite power.

Y: I wanted to give importance into not thinking about it deeply. However, because the human being standing on-set is me, I did what I could on top of obviously taking on Ed's appearance, rewatching the anime, and also reading the manga over again many times. I had to stand on-set, not as the manga's Ed nor the anime's Ed, but as "Ryosuke Yamada's Ed" so as it's expected, some originality also became necessary there. When I take on filming, I stand on top of many things that I've studied so I don't really think about it too deeply and just face all of the things that happen on-set earnestly, giving importance to reacting.

It is also said that Yamada personally went all out and took on dangerous action scenes. Was there something you were carefully about during filming?

Y: Just "don't get injured" I guess. That's what I'd always think while doing [the action scenes]. That's why in the beginning, the scene where I jump off from a roof to leap onto Cornello (Kenjirou Ishimaru) was filmed on the day we finished shooting. They built a roof set and dug a hole about 5 meters deep in the ground that I was supposed to run and jump into. But that scene was something that I had never done until then so it was fun. What was the most important [scene] during shooting was the fight with (CG-created) Al. There, I had to punch an opponent that wasn't there and Al's height is 2 m 20 cm so... 

P: That was amazing!

Y: My punches don't reach him you know. It was also my first time having to punch with my left hand instead of my right. If it was with my right then I could have very good form, but I couldn't do that with my left so I earnestly started shadow boxing at home while researching it. That scene was very tough, but after watching the completed scene I was extremely satisfied.

P: In the movie, this was the scene that I also got caught up in the most, to the point of almost forgetting to breathe. Ed, Al, and Winry's unavoidable feelings seem to have a triple intersection, making me teary-eyed and my heart tremble. Despite that Yamada-kun, I can't believe Al wasn't there during shooting! It's really amazing! Without fail I always had Al there, Rie (Kugimiya)!

Among the appearing characters the precious partner, younger brother Al, and the brothers' childhood friend Winry have an especially strong emotional attachment.

Y: I also had a lot of time involving Winry and Tsubasa (Honda) also knew the character very well herself so in both her relation to me and in our exchanges she was thoroughly Winry. She'd always say things like, "Your face is pretty. Your face is pretty, but your height..." (laughs). I'd reply with "Shut it! Idiot..." though. We were able to start shooting with that kind of relationship so it was really easy to play [Ed with her]. Even the scenes that became emotional were like a well-played melody that didn't fall into dissonance. I think that if it hadn't been Tsubasa, maybe I wouldn't have been able to play Ed.

P: For a little while, when the movie started, Al didn't speak so it made me very impatient, but the moment he spoke, I cried out in complete joy,  "..., ah! Al! Al spoke!" (laughs). Seeing the exchanges between Yamada-kun's Ed, (Atomu) Mizuishi-kun's Al, and Honda-san's Winry made me feel once again that Fullmetal Alchemist really is a "story of bonds."

The movie completes Lust, making you feel like there will also be further development and that's the place where expectations for a sequel are swelling up.

Y: Of course, I'm very eager to do it. Because there's still many characters that haven't appeared, and it's not like we've told the whole story. Director (Fumihiko) Sori, the staff, and cast - everyone is also hoping for a continuation to become a reality.

P: (About appreciating the movie) This new Fullmetal Alchemist really got to me, to the point that inside of my mask there was a mix of tears and boogers. Starting with Yamada-kun, the passion that everybody having to do with this movie has is impressive. Even if it's just one more person, I would like you to watch it.
