Endlessly tickled by the idea of Akira being a good shot but a shit gamer. I like to think its cause hes got incredible hand eye coordination and super steady ‘surgeon’ hands; hes very good with precise movements, but panics when he has to do brain melting inputs. His brain can keep up but its hard to make his hands follow suit. Its why u can have him be dogshit at arcade cabinets; panicking with the little joystick and button mashing like mad, while having him be a beast at things like darts and billiards.
The only arcade games he can play is house of the dead-esque shooting games (hes literally at the top of the leaderboards for MILES and he draws crowds whenever he plays) and DDR cabinets (hes just very light on his feet)(NOT to be confused with stepmania; he would die if he had to do arrow inputs with his HAND). Its kinda fun to watch him fumble with the other silly gimmick cabinets, but its more entertaining to watch him do what hes good at. If u take him to play darts, and if the darts are super cheap, he will absolutely try his best to split them down the middle each time. Doesnt always work, but its insane to know that he lands the bullseye literally 100% of the time.

just woke up from a dream where i got thrown into a play as its lead literally last minute like. reading script for the first time off a screen without contact lenses full first rehearsal (they didn't tell me that until it was Literally happening) audience orchestra everything BUT IT WASN'T a nightmare. i was actually having a good time
#not sure what this said about me exactly#and if i ACTUALLY had to do that it would be like. 'collapse on stage+ never speak again' embarrassing#but since i thought it was a casual thing and i was doing a good job i was like ok yeah 👍#it was also kind of a musical? and somehow i knew the notes#anyway really weird but pleasant dream to have#again usually my dreams are 1) tense/scary 2) excruciatingly boring 3) secret third thing. they're almost never fun#but this one was when it by all means shouldn't have been. nice :)#hehe i should tell my theater bestie about this she'd get stressed just getting about it#maybe it's like. the urge to voice act manifesting in a very strange way

Like everyone else I think about standalone city of mist comic a normal amount, but when thinking about other possible mediums the only filmed format I think could consistently work is something like NightMare Time.

I would pay blood to see a case like Amnesia Town or The Unwanted Guest adapted like this, the series does a very good job at conveying a similarly dramatic tone as the comics and visually it does remind me of a lot of the live play shows I've seen for city of mist already.
YOu'd maybe need to exclude the. Musical numbers but I'm sure there can be a reason for them to stay as well

Okay so i havent completely come to terms with it yet but WE WON THE HP CODEWARS (a coding competition in teams) AND WERE ACTUALLY GOING TO HOUSTON TO COMPETE IN NEXT YEAR'S COMPETITION WHAT
#what what what#what the fuck#(only adding the pic of me alone bc im too lazy to ask my friends for permission lol)#no but really what#like we knew we had options to make podium but no way we were going to win#we didnt even rlly believe we would actually make podium before starting bc there were some rlly good teams#(we kinda know everyone good so that was easy to spot)#and then after the competition we were like huh we did pretty badly we think#then we thought again and compared with last year and we said huh maybe not suuuuper bad but not rlly good either#(last year it was online and you could have a computer per person but this year it was only one so it was rlly different)#amd then we talked with the ppl that we knew and we were like huh were the best so far#then they talked to like everyone good bc they literally know everyone and they were like congraats youre 99% sure winning#and we were like naaaaah impossible you probably missed someone or smth theres no way#like we were pretty sure we were gonna be making podium by then but we somehow didnt even fully believe it#and then at the awards ceremony they gave the first girl team prize to someone else with less points and we were like aaaaa we made podium#and then they announced the third position we literally screamed bc since we knew ppls points we knew it meant we were first#i almost cried istg#like being 2nd or 3rd or 4th or first girl is like yeah im good but im not the best but like being THE best? being first is scary#it feels fake and confusing but also im so happy and i dont know how to express it aaaaaa its so weird#and the fact that were going to HOUSTON next year? what the actual fuuuck feels impossible#like were going to go there? a prize that is only for the first group? rlly? just like that?? whaaaat#also now hp has our data (we obv gave it to them) and they will likely be happy to accept us to work and/or get internships there so yayyy#but im still not over any of this it rlly feels fake like what the fuck one of the important hp research facilities asked for MY email??#what the fuuuuuuuck#also unrelated but they just had a paper mache how to train your dragon dragon just there in the corner of a football field like whaat#(a dragon that was bigger than us not some cute little figure eeh)#mine#life#codewars
