in both of these they seem to be alone, or the only child in the room, which makes me think they're not bio brothers but idk maybe it's angling, or its different parts of the same house but who knows. im going with my theory that they're not brothers but two lost boys completely dedicated to keeping the other safe. esp because bison says

TLDR the 7s deluxe edition is just to make money. several of their new releases are a flop, no thanks to them buying properties of transphobic and queerphobic authors. ppl kept asking for hardcover, envying all the other countries, and 7s got them that. though they waited until all of tgcf was released to make people buy their most profitable danmei all over again. It doesn't contain anything new from the paperback except some fixed typoes and a new cover (inside art stays the same per their announcement). they might one day publish the revised version but they don't usually buy directly from jjwxc, they buy the 'international' versions from pinsin. once pinsin gets on it, 7s will probably too, especially since fans keep asking them for the revised one. some people also speculated that 7s license (5years) will run out soon so they might just want to squeeze some more money out of it before it ends (the tgcf hardcover is set to release one volume per month) pity they won't rerelease mdzs bc that shit could actually use some hard scrubbing from a professional editor but then again idk any sane or insane mdzs fan that would want to buy mdzs from 7s ever again.

A clarification on Athenian Laws concerning male homosexuality.

(because this particular small thing is often misunderstood, due to inability to accurately translate specific ancient greek terms into english, or lack of comprehension of context.)

In classical athens, there was a very specific set of laws, concerning ONLY male athenian citizens (so slaves, women and metics were not subject to it). These laws said that a male athenian citizen who engages in intercourse with another man IN EXCHANGE FOR PAYMENT, was not allowed to do certain things, such as hold positions of power or speak in the assembly. There were also potential penalties (not described in detail) for the person hiring an athenian citizen for this purpose. Again, this is often misunderstood, so I have to repeat, this was only when it was done in exchange for some sort of payment/recompense. The word used for these men is of the same root as εταιρα, which was the female counterpart. It is often mistranslated, there's a whole thing I could go on explaining about the different types of prostitution terms, but basically there was a distinction between prostitute and courtesan/escort/whatever you'd call them in english. Also, this law did not forbid this, and it was not a prosecutable offense by itself. The offense was if one such man disobeyed the limitations set by the law, and it's unclear to me what the deal was with the person who paid.

Next time someone says there were laws against homosexuality in classical athens, here's a helpful article of a guy explaining this much better than me, and goes into more detail about all the weird intricacies of the legal system, as well as the laws set in place to protect boys from grown men:

Oh, haha, I was just about to post a link to his stream of the preview livestream, for anyone else who was curious to see it!

He's speaking Japanese, which means his readings of the names (which are written in Japanese) are probably a more accurate guess than what I'm doing with my dictionary, yeah. The kanji characters that Japanese names are usually written with often have multiple ways they can be read, though, and my understanding is that even if you're a native speaker, the first reading of the name that comes to mind may not always be the correct one, in the same way you could misread a name in English because you've heard it pronounced one way, but the person whose name it is pronounces it another way.

Which isn't to say I think he's wrong necessarily! Just that (at least as I understand it as someone learning Japanese) it's still not 100% confirmation those are their canon names, so I'll hold off on calling anything "confirmed" until I hear the names in-game, just to be safe.

(Though, to be clear, I do consider Yui confirmed, since they write that name in English in some cases as well, haha. The above explanation applies to the three names written in Japanese.)
