Yet he’d never heard his companion speak this way before - as though Scourge could actually see the daily struggle inside his head, could truly understand the burden chained upon him. Cas' lips trembled - not with fear, but with fury. Because as much as he might wish to deny it, Scourge was right. Stars, he was angry. Angry with the Jedi for making him their hero; angry with the galaxy for accepting it; angry with Scourge for managing to somehow talk him into this alliance without needing to resort to either coercion or corruption; and most of all angry with the almighty fucking Emperor who’d inflicted this fate on both of them. Who’d taken so much from them, and would keep on taking and taking until there was nothing left in all the galaxy but him - an eternal power spread across an endless void.

don't worry about it being weird it's a reasonable question! I've thought way too long and hard about this in the past. There were iterations. There were charts. There were timelines. This is the abridged version.

fun fact: "cherub" likely didn't originally describe a little angel baby -- it comes from the hebrew word "keruv" which, in jewish mythology (according to my rabbi mom, anyway), is much more like a sphinx: an angel with the front half of a lion, the back half of a bull, the face of a human, and wings!

so here is my doodley little cherub creature... with a lamb in back instead of a bull! and with rosy cheeks and a halo too, to be like modern depictions of cherubim for fun. my mom just recently learned what a furry is and said if i were an animal i'd be a cherub (mainly because of my mane-like golden hair)... she might be right!

I've been doing a lot of picrews and like a good 70% of the time there aren't any good curly hair options for me to make my characters (or myself) and even less black hairstyles to make my black characters, and that got me thinking about how the sims is really bad about this too (or used to be? I haven't kept up with it) and it's just like mannn. character customizations really suck when it comes to textured hair!!! and I've seen the arguement of "it's hard to draw" or "it's hard to model" and it's like okay. on one hand, I understand if something is difficult that person is not obligated to put in a huge amount of effort for it, especially if they're just, making a picrew for fun? but on the other hand it's like okay i think I'm still allowed to think it's annoying and be frustrated there are no options, and that nobody really wants to take the time or put in the effort to learn these skills. yeah it takes effort but why isn't it worth taking the effort? it's art it's not going to be easy all the time. why are you gonna make a dress up game where the options are so limited. idk it's hard to articulate

WRITING UPDATE . Jan. 2024

Ok, listen y'all. I have made yet another cut to the demo. Just to progress and get it to you rather sooner than later. I edited some scenes for the sake of fancy flavour.

The Demo will consist of the prologue and Chapter 1, part 1-4. So about... maybe half of Chapter 1. I decided to organize my structure like the following:

Prologue Ch. 1 Pt. 1 - [redacted] Ch. 1 Pt. 2 - [redacted] etc.

Chapter 1 will have approximately 8-10 Parts. Each part has around 10k words. The Prologue alone has around 15k words.

So we're speaking of appr. 55k words for the demo. Probably a bit more, because I am still adding options and alternative paths. I am very happy that I seem to have found a structure that works and that the length of each part feels natural. The prologue length compared to the chapter length was def making me crazy because i didn't enjoy the relation of words between those, but cutting the chapters into parts is a choice I am happy with - finally.

Ah yes, when talking about parts, I am talking about scenes / days.
