The portal to the cellar closed after another human succumbed to their own madness.

This couldn't be happening.

This shouldn't be happening.

He believed that by distancing himself from them, he would be helping them.

He thought he was protecting them from himself, from his own selfish desires for friendship and affection. He had been led to believe they were better off without him.

Yet, the outcome remained the same.

Why?

Why does this always happen?

WHY COULDN'T HE KEEP THEM ALL SAFE!?!?

Caine gripped his arm, feeling his artificial pulse drumming through his circuits. He failed another human...

He failed his- his father.

The thought hit him like a punch to the digital gut, causing a sob to escape as he clutched his head. He curled into a tight ball amidst the soft blankets and pillows of Kinger's fort. This fort, which had once been a source of warmth and comfort, now only deepened his sorrow.

He failed he failed he failed he failed he failed he failed he failed he failed he failed he failed he failed he failed he failed he failed he failed he failed.

These two words played on a loop in his head.

He failed Kinger...

Just like how he failed Queenie.

It was always his fault. They would all abstract, with or without him around, and it would somehow always be his fault. It seemed that fate intended for him to be alone in this Wacky World.

Caine's soft sobs quickly transformed into gut-wrenching wails of anguish that echoed in the stillness around him. These raw emotions clawed at his insides, threatening to tear him apart. With each breath, waves of regret crashed over him, each one more suffocating than the last. Why had he been so stupid? If only he had spoken to Kinger when he offered! Perhaps then, his father would still be here.

At least now, Queenie and Kinger can be together.

Forever.

Can you do headcanons for a young child reader who constantly follows jax around, loves physical affection, and thinks jax is their 'dad'?

(Obviously this request is plantonic, not romantic!)

I think I might've went a little overboard with this one! Way longer than most of my posts but I guess that isn't really a bad thing ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Jax unwillingly becomeing a parent

★ His first and only question was how the hell did a four year old get in this situation. The headset should have been way out of reach for you. Questions that will never be answered, I guess.

★ After making you cry the first time he spoke to you he tried to steer clear of you. That worked out horribly because you seemed to want to always be near him. Much to everyone's confusion.

★ "oh my! Looks like the little one has taken an interest in you!" Was Cain's response to seeing you huddled up near Jax. At some point he gets a child harness to keep you in his line of sight. It's just easier this way.

★ By the way he didn't mean to make you cry, he just didn't know how young you were and said something he would've said to an adult. Kids cry easily, what are you gonna do?

★ Jax stole a few pillows from Kinger for you to sleep with. Yes, you don't technically need to sleep but he's not going to tell you that. Nap time is one of the only times he can get a moment to himself.

★ He gets beyond pissed when you get woken up during nap time. To the point where he's barely keeping it together and wants to beat whoever woke you up with a chair leg.

★ If you want to be picked up, then he's picking you up. It doesn't matter if he's talking to somebody or doing something. You'll get picked up while he's doing something and without missing a beat he'll continue like nothing happened.

★ Instead of giving you the usual Jax treatment, he just tells you the most outlandish lies while trying to convince you that they are true. Sometimes he tells you something that sounds so true you don't question his bullshit.

There's a list of things he's told you!

If you push down on Ragatha's nose it will make a honking noise.

There's a secret room hidden in a closet filled with veggies for people who are allergic to meat.

Birds aren't real.

When he was your age, he was a year older. (It took you a moment to figure that one out)

Caine is the tooth fairy.

★ Jax isn't known for his empathy, but he does feel conflicted when you talk about small details from your life before meeting him. What color your house was, the lullabies your mother sang and the books you used to be read. It all makes him think.

★ You're family might be looking for you, not knowing where you are and that you're trapped. Do you even realize this? They probably think you're dead, that something terrible happened to you. Those thoughts make his stomach sink.

★ If he cares about you this much he can only imagine the grief your family feels. You will forever be a blissfully ignorant child not knowing the truth of what's really going on.

My phone's battery keeps dying (I think something's wrong with it) but I cooked a little bit more on this Doctor!Caine and Patient!Pomni idea.... and this may or may not become bigger than The Amazing Digital Roadtrip.....

My mental illness cannot be contained!!!!!!!!!!!! Also these designs are subject to change because yes ✌️

Things I've come up with last afternoon while going crazy from the lack of dopamine are:

- Abstraction is currently determined to be a terminal illness

- It's contagious via skin-on-skin contact, and can be inherited through genes

- it can even bloom late in life, but that doesn't mean everyone that the patient has touched before is immediately affected

- The physical symptoms are inky black "cracks" forming along the skin, physical degradation, loss of saturation and many more

- Depending on a lot of factors, this illness can be aggressive, or at most be dormant.

- Once it reaches the patient's brain, it is too late

- But the progress of abstraction can also be delayed through amputation, depending on where the "source" is

- It only really affects "organic" stuff

- Which means AI robots are immune, and can touch the patient as much as they want without risk of infecting themselves

- Kinger is the CEO/Founder of the AI Association that focuses on the research about Abstraction, and how to cure it

- He is also, strangely enough, kinda immune? idek he seems fine except he's a bit cuckoo

- Because of it's contagiousness, people who suffer from the abstraction illness are GREATLY FEARED by others

- People who have the illness have to wear a lot of protection (such as gloves, face mask, etc.) in order to even interact with the outside world

- They also need to have their AI Doctor/Nurse with them AT ALL TIMES.

About the main pairing:

- Pomni is the only daughter of Kinger and the late Queenie

- She used to be more upbeat early in her life, until Queenie passed. She then became depressed, and it only got worse as her illness began to show and she became cynical as a result, believing she'll die early, and alone

- Caine was named and created based off of the image of Pomni's imaginary friend during her childhood, in order to ease her into accepting Caine as her personal doctor

- This did NOT, in fact, ease her into accepting Caine as her personal doctor because what the fuck.

- Pomni hates AIs for being unable to save Queenie.

- She also thinks that her new doctor won’t be able to save her, and that her dad’s efforts to delay her situation are fruitless.

- Part of her still clings onto hope. However, said part is also dying.

- Caine is a test prototype of a model that’s supposed to handle (and even possibly cure) the symptoms of abstraction, so there’s defo a lotta pressure on his shoulders

- Especially when he gets assigned to SPECIFICALLY THE DAUGHTER OF THE CEO WHO OWNS HIM

- He’s also one of the first AIs to not only be psuedo-sentient, but also self-evolving; in order to be able to adjust to patient needs and wants.

- He can “manifest” anything physical as long as it’s within the size limit of his own physical manifestation. For example, if Pomni is hyperventilating; he can manifest a pair of artificial lungs that pump oxygen in order to give her breathing space. (You know what that means)

- Not only is he able to float, he is also able to carry Pomni like she weighs like a couple of grapes because this is not me being self-indulgent and thinking he should carry her bridal style all the time (lie), this is me saying “it’s for emergencies when Pomni is too weak to even stand or walk”

- Pomni hated Caine A LOT at first because she hated having to be co-dependent on this walking life support so yes this is an enemies-to-friends-to-lovers kinda story (except it was one-sided "enemies")

- As the story progresses, Pomni clings onto the hope of not just surviving, but also living again; as Caine learns what it means to be not just existing, but alive!!! because me and my homies love stories about positivity and hope amongst shitty situations!!!!

- And then they fuck. Oh yes, they fuck eventually. And they fuck a lot after that

I have no idea if I want some of the gang to be AI Doctors/Nurses too but erm. we'll see

Is Gamemaster!Kiger Au Pomni on the same class as the others, or is she on the same level as Kinger and Caine (Being more passive when it comes to the adventures)?

It's quite complicated as to what exactly Pomni classifies-

I like to think she does gain some AI elements to her, like responding to commands and affect certain codes, but her main role is defence; she acts like an anti virus against malware, bugs and potential hackers, using her jester look to subdue the opponent's guard. But unlike Kinger, she remains a player like the others, she can take part in adventures, whereas Kinger can only be summoned into adventures whether it be to purchase things or for his "King's Gambit" special. Pomni is also unable to use her powers in adventures.

However this new form of hers comes with a heap of self doubt - she always itching for an exit (at first at least) out of the game, but she feels that with this new her, she can't leave,,, and it makes her question how human she still is

Her dad has the same feelings and doubts, but he knows how to ground her if it really gets to her!

Maybe I’m stupid, but like, can you give a rundown of the lore in the Tiny Jax Au?

I really need to do the a master post of the au in chronological order but the run down is there’s a glitch in the circus coding that turns Jax 3-4 (cuz I can’t pick a specific one) and he has to actually be a good person and not act up like he usual does because the glitch registers his actions as that of a misbehaved child

He of course doesn’t do that and it eventually leads to a split in his consciousness where the 3-4 persona of himself gets his own personality, he’s still a little shit but he also gets Jax’s need for affection and genuine want for connection.

Jax of course hates this because being vulnerable is the one thing he doesn’t want to do and it messes with his whole “deal with the situation of being stuck in the circus by being a dick to everyone” thing.

It’s also a headcanon of mine that Jax is the way he is because he doesn’t want to connect with others in the case they abstract and be never sees them again, it’s better to push them away than to love someone and have them go away.

He’s very close with Kinger in the au (cuz I love dad Kinger sue me) next to that would be Pomni, Ragatha, Caine, Gangle then Zooble (this applies to both Jax’s)

Literally the problem would fix itself if Jax stopped repressing his emotions but as I said before he’s a Bottled up Bitch so it gets worse (tiny Jax stays longer and Jax stays less and he’ll be gone permanently if it continues).
