Terrell: Reminds me of my grandma with that food plate. Lucia: So I was thinking, Silas and I were planning to visit the museum. How about we all go tomorrow?

Terrell: Sounds like fun. And since he has roots here he'll be able to tell us a lot, don't you think? Lucia: Silas, our new friends are joining us tomorrow. Silas: You think you can handle that, city boy?

They laughed, joked some more, bonded. Until Terrell's bladder said enough - despite the fact he had a restroom right there.

(64) Old Relics and Bloodlines Part 2/2

Neve: "This is a beautiful ancient calendar!"

Lucia: "Hey Neve, look at this golden necklace. A gift from Malcom A. Landgraab to Lady Victorine Goth. Huh, as in Lady Ravendancer Goth? The years match. Didn't know those families intertwined." Neve: "...Goths and Landgraabs? Lucia: "Is something wrong?" Neve: "No... It's just, I'm a Landgraab. I didn't know I had distant relatives in the Goth family." Lucia: "Oh nice, I didn't know that! But that's so interesting, having your family name in a museum! You know Victorine, or Ravendancer if you will, had some odd rumors about her. They said she was a spellcaster. Not sure if I believe that though." Neve: "Oh really? Hm... should we go to the boys over there?"

Silas: "This is the same statue like the one in the town square, it's Madre Cosecha. The lady that helped people settle in Selvadorada during a famine." Terrell: "And it's all bronze, thats incredible. You know a lot of the history from here." Silas: "My mom actually taught me most of it. She was an archeologist, that's how she met my dad." Terrell: "I'm sorry for your loss, they seemed like great parents." Silas gave Terrell a nod, "Thank you man, they were."

The group spent the rest of the afternoon in the museum together, feeling grateful they had met some new friends.

Terrell: Still no drink? Neve: It's the third time I asked but they're finally making it. Silas: Excuse me? Can we have another round, please? Terrell: I hear you get your drink on the third try. They should call this the Genie Bar.

Terrell surprised himself by joking with the stranger, maybe something about being far away from home and everyone you know. And the stranger laughed at his joke, so it couldn't be that bad, right?

Silas: That may very well be true, but at least the drinks are extremely good. Neve: Damn, he's right about that. This is delicious. Lucia: I step out to the bathroom for two minutes and you already made friends.

Silas: That's just the Selvadoradian way. I'm Silas, by the way. And this is my girlfriend, Lucia. Terrell: I'm Terrell and this is my girlfriend, Neve. Nice meeting you two.

The girls lost the bet by finding a fake painted relic.

And the boys brought the victory home with their beautiful Painted Citcitli Statue. Silas, however, offered to give up the prize so his girlfriend could have a proper girls' day back at the lodging.

Silas: Are you guys sure you want to bet on this Neve: Why not? A good old fashioned girls versus guys friendly competition. Lucia: You're gonna love it! It has a massage chair and mani and pedi stuff. Terrell: I'm confident, I have Silas on my team.

Neve: Terrell, you'll be the one authenticating, not Silas or it'd be cheating. Terrell: What? But I've never done it before. Neve: Neither have I. Silas: Don't worry, I'll guide you step by step.

Terrell started off the friendly competition, all he could think of though was how long is this going to take. But finally, it was done and Lucia quickly got to work on their piece. They then authenticated each and...

Terrell: What's the spiciest dish Selvadorada has to offer? Neve: You can't handle spicy, Terrell. You think cocktail sauce is spicy! Terrell: It has a hint of it! Silas: Maybe we start with something lighter than cocktail sauce, then.

They ordered, cursed at the mosquitoes, and got to know each other even further - Neve profusely thanked Lucia for saving her life after reading about how dangerous the Selvadoradian spiders can be if not taken care of immediately.

They had dinner, some drinks, and dessert, and were ready to call it a night. Tomorrow's a new day.

(66) What Friends Are For

Silas: "Don't worry about it! It'll be fine. Terrell said he'd carry her and if he gets tired, I will help."

Terrell carried Neve all the way back home. His exhaustion from a whole afternoon and evening of walking through the jungle was forgotten. Every ounce of his focus was on one thing: getting her home safely. Nothing else mattered.

Lucia: "How do you feel now? Silas read that the medicine should've started working by now." Neve: "I have a really bad headache, but the dizziness, nausea and pain is gone." Lucia: "I think we still should keep an eye on you tonight and tomorrow. If anything happens later or it gets worse again, let us know. We'll help you no matter if it's 4 am."

Neve: "Thank you so much Lucia, I don't know what we would have done if you didn't have that medicine with you...and Terrell, I'm sorry I didn't say anything. I didn't want you to worry. You've had so much to deal with lately." Terrell: "Please don't keep things like this from me. I care so much about you, and you're never too much for me to handle. I love you, Neve." Silas yelling from upstairs: "Now where should we go for dinner? I'm paying!"

Neve: "I'm so excited for today!" Lucia: "Me too! I'm so glad we met, you guys have made this vacation ten times better."

Silas: "So this seems like such a typical tourist trap, but let's just forget about that for today, and see what we can find."

Lucia: "Oh my, what was that? Ugh, since yesterday I'm so nervous around bugs. I'm so glad you're okay again Neve." Neve: "Me too, this is a much better activity for us I think." Lucia: "For sure! I'm gonna fill in the checklist of what we've seen so far in this pile."

(63) Old Relics and Bloodlines Part 1/2

Silas: "I never get bored of seeing the stuff around this museum. It has the biggest collection of cultural heritage from Selvadorada in the world." Lucia: "That's amazing!" Neve: "I read on the pamphlet that most things were taken by independent archeologists, and decades later donated to the museum. As it should!" Lucia: "Oh definitely! History belongs to everyone." Terrell: "It's so humid out here, let's go check out the inside."

Neve: "These things must be so old Lucia, look at that little guy carved out in stone." Lucia: "I bet, and that figure looks like it could be cursed!" Terrell: "Ah.. air condition." Silas: "That makes the two of us, I got the roots from this warm place, but not the tolerance for the heat!"

(68) What Will We Uncover?

Terrell: "Do you think they just put stuff in this pile for us to find or is it real?" Silas: "I guess there's only one way to find out." Terrell: "We should check it by the archeologist table near the bar."

Lucia: "Imagine it wasn't a tourist trap, and that we've found something actually valuable!" Silas: "I doubt that, love. As a kid, all I found was plastic figures and a candy full of sand...I still ate it." Neve: "Gosh, why Silas..."

After spending the morning uncovering real or fake treasures, the group headed down to the town square to further inspect what they had uncovered in the dirt.
