Heyy how are you Hope you're doing well and have some food and drink water you need it🫶
So about the request i was wondering if you would be able to make a modern au i am not really sure if you write modern au but if you don't want to make it modern au it's totally fine
It's a scenario with marco adopting a girl (maybe 10-11) who's tomboyish and making her his daughter and basically the whitebeard pirates being whitebeard company (if you write modern au) with pops as the ceo of course and them being a huge family. (I swear they are really family i want what they have💞)
i can imagine izo telling everyone you people can't handle a girl there need's to be a bit of feminine only for the girl to run away cause she found him intimidating but at the end they bond.
Also please can you include the ASL trio as if they are a part of the whitebeard family
I personally had this idea for so long and thought a lot about it that's why i want to see it come to life thank you so much for this chance🥹
Love ya
Hello my dear! So yes, I do write modern AUs, lol. Sorry I didn't get this out sooner, life has been... a pain. BUT! it's out! I hope it's alright, I had a hard time wrapping up the ending. In any case, enjoy!

Looking down at the little girl in front of him, Marco could feel his heart aching. He couldn’t imagine she was more than 10, 11 tops, but here she was, huddling under what little shelter she could find, trying to stay out of the rain. Walking in over to her, he held his umbrella out a little, covering her as well as he kneeled down. Looking up at him, e/c eyes looked up at him in curiosity and… was it… fear?
“What are you doing out here, little one? Surely you have somewhere you can go to escape the rain.” he asked softly, reaching out and placing his hand on her head. The little girl simply shook her head, looking down at the ground sadly. Marco’s expression twisted into a troubled one as he stared at her for a moment, “Come with me. I’ll get you out of this rain and get you something to eat, you look hungry.” Marco offered, holding his hand out for the little girl. She timidly looked down at his hand before looking up at him. He looked like a kind man, nothing like those who sought to kidnap her or hurt her. Tentatively, she took his hand, allowing him to lead her away.
That had been 4 months ago. After taking her to the office with him, she’d immediately stolen the hearts of all the divisions, though it was a toss up as to if HR loved her more or R&D. No, no, neither of those were correct. The ones who loved her most were Marco and the company’s owner, Edward ‘Whitebeard’ Newgate. It hadn’t taken a lot to adopt the girl, once she’d finally been willing enough to give them a name and her previous orphanage. None of them had known much about her, but it was clear that she was a little cautious, something that none of them had much cared for. She was far too young to be this distrustful of people.
Sitting in his office, Marco smiled as he watched his new daughter play in the, now renovated, room next door. The very instant the adoption papers had been signed, Pops had begun renovating what had once been an office next to Marco’s, turning it into a playroom of sorts for her so that when she wasn’t at school, the entire building could come and fawn over her instead of leaving her with a daycare, something they had all been vehemently against. Crawling into one of the human sized hamster tunnels, she was immediately off once more, ruffling the new dress Izo had gotten her. The man would sigh, but leave it be. So long as she was happy, it seemed that the rest of the office was as well.
Hearing his office door slam open, Marco couldn’t help but jump, looking up to see a familiar straw hat and smile.
“Is Y/n in here? Ace said she was in here!” Luffy asked excitedly, running towards the door to the playroom before Marco could answer. Even though the boy was a good 7 years older than her, he seemed to be her closest friend, the two of them often getting lost in the tunnels together as they ‘adventured’ across the building, the human hamster tunnels winding through almost all of the offices of the upper two floors.
“Luffy! Get back here! You made a promise to Ace and I! Homework first then Y/n!” Sabo shouted, running into Marco’s office soon after and joining Luffy in the tunnels. The older blond could only laugh as Sabo chased after Luffy and Luffy chased after Y/n. Pops had taken Ace in after the death of the boy’s parents, being Ace’s godfather. Roger and Pops might have been rival companies, but contrary to what the press often said, had been surprisingly good friends. Sabo had been taken in after Ace, Pops filing for custody against Sabo’s parents after a fire left the boy with horrible burn scars. The one he wasn’t sure of, however, was Luffy. The boy had his own home, perhaps not the most attentive father, but a good man. His grandfather had found a… nanny to take care of him from time to time, yet the boy had still wound up with Ace and Sabo more often than not. Still, it seemed to be for the best since Luffy and Y/n got along, so he couldn’t be upset.
Another bang made Marco jump, seeing Ace and Izo in his doorway.
“Marco! Did Luffy and Sabo come this way? Sabo called me saying that he was chasing Luffy and they were headed this way!” Ace asked, making the man smile.
“In the tunnels, best of luck, don’t forget to take off your shoes.” Marco said, gesturing towards the tunnels, the black haired young man soon darting after his brothers.
“She’s in the tunnels again?! But… but I just got her that dress!” Izo said with a sigh, looking down rather dejectedly, making Marco laugh.
“And she loves it… when it isn’t hindering her ability to move.” Marco said, thinking to this morning when he had her put it on for school. He wasn’t lying, she’d been rather happy with the dress, finding that it wasn’t too restrictive, it was comfortable, and it was cute.
“I haven’t even gotten to see her in it. By later today, it’ll probably be too covered in dirt and scuff marks. How is she supposed to learn to be feminine when she spends all her time around Ace, Sabo, and Luffy!” Izo grumbled, tucking a strand of loose hair back.
“I’m sure she’ll be fine. Once she warms up to you more, you’ll no doubt be able to dress her up as much as you’d like.” Marco said with a comforting smile as the man in front of him sighed in defeat.
“I don’t know why she doesn’t like me, Marco. I’ve tried being nice to her, but she always runs behind someone else.” Izo lamented, crossing his arms as he stood in the doorway.
“It’s because of your first meeting. You pushed everyone aside to meet her, carrying a dress. She figured that anyone that can push away that many people so easily while managing not to rip a dress was terrifying.” Marco said with a chuckle. Izo sighed and nodded, his shoulders sagging as he leaned against the doorframe.
“I suppose you have a point. Everyone here is rather tall, aren’t they? Well… tell her there’s some mochi in the fridge for her. It’s a recipe I learned from Toki.” Izo said, turning to leave.
“You… made me mochi?” a small voice called out, drawing Izo’s attention to the glass playroom doors. Izo smiled gently as he looked at her, nodding.
“Yes. Your favorite, in fact. Marco told me what you like, so I thought you might enjoy some in the form of mochi.” Izo said softly, his heart melting at her smile.
“Thank you, Mister Izo. I’m… I’m sorry about getting your dress dirty.” she said, moving to dust the front of her dress off as if that would help.
“It’s alright, little one. How about you and I go shopping one of these days. I’ll buy you something we can both agree on.” Izo said, feeling himself becoming putty for the little girl. Much like the others, he’d already adored her, but Marco was pretty sure she could get Izo to kill for her with that little smile alone.
“Y/n, why don’t you go with Izo now to get that mochi. You can eat it while you finish up the other half of that homework.” Marco suggested, watching Izo smile at the idea of her going with him to get the mochi. Looking down at her dress, her brow furrowed as she once more attempted to wipe the scuff marks out of the knees.
“Don’t worry, little one, I’ll get you something better when we go shopping.” Izo said softly, giving her a warm smile. Almost as if a switch flipped, Y/n was smiling at him and running over, happily taking his hand as he led her away. Marco smiled and sighed softly, watching his daughter walk towards the break room. Even as Luffy ran out of the play area, Sabo and Ace hot on his heels, he couldn’t help but find himself feeling content. The company had always been a family to him; chaotic, loud, and messy, but a family, and seeing his daughter warming up to Izo, playing with Ace, Sabo, and Luffy, and often seeing her with Pops, he couldn’t help but feel more and more like a real family. Even if the family was the entire company.

Izou: I expect responsibility to be taken.
Jhr’Deiyah: I can hear my wallet screaming out
Izou: *kisses her on side of her temple* No need to break the bank. I’ll accept anything that comes from that beautiful heart of yours
Jhr’Deiyah: *blushes*
Izou: Lilian, I’m heartbroken you forgot. *wipes a fake tear with his Gucci handkerchief*
Lillian: Hey man, you just heard I have ADHD. I have a lot going on.
Zoro: *rolls his eye* Your gift is in the mail.
Jhr’ Deiyah: *points her finger then snaps* Exactly. Exactly Lillian!
Izou: *sips his tea* Do you want me to switch to the Schiaparelli bag?
Jhr’Deiyah: Sorry sir.
Izou: Thank you Zoro. They actually got me a gift. *takes another sip, his eyes turn to Jhr’Deiyah* Yet… *pouts *
Jhr’Deiyah: I promise I’ll make it up to you
Izou: *smiles behind his teacup*
Rosinante: *whispers to Lillian and Zoro as Jhr’Deiyah is in a state of panic* She totally forgot about the gift she bought him earlier this year. Izou knows about it because she got excited and showed him. He’s just messing with her now.

The sunlight is creeping through the window which means it’s time for you to wake up. Today is quite a special day for you as it’s your birthday. Usually, you are very excited when it comes to it, but this year is a little bit different. It isn’t about the age you are turning to, it is more about the upcoming celebration. You know that every single person from the crew is excited about tonight’s celebration as, since you were a child, your birthday has been treated as a holiday on the Moby Dick, after all your father was none other than the Whitebeard himself.
Sitting up in your bed a sigh leaves your lips. You have been feeling very down lately since a certain someone has left the ship to pursue revenge. It has been two months since Thatch was killed by Blackbeard and Ace has gone on his journey to avenge his comrade’s death. Not only you have to celebrate your birthday without one of the closest people you had while growing up, but on top of it, you have to spend the day without the person your heart desires the most.
Portgas D Ace – the second division commander of the Whitebeard’s pirates, has stolen your heart the moment he had stepped his foot on your father’s ship. Even when he was trying to kill your father you couldn’t help but feel your heart skip a beat every time you saw him. You never worried about his attempts towards your old man as you were sure that one day they would stop, and the hot-tempered boy would eventually cool off. While his attempts were still ongoing, you made sure to tend his wounds and clean his bloody nose every time, not only as an excuse to get closer to him, but also to get to understand why he was trying so hard to harm your father. Of course, he wasn’t very found of you in the beginning and refused your help, but slowly with time he started to cool off and open up more and more to the crew and you.
“Why…” His voice was low and groggy from his hundredth killing attempt towards your dad. You have come to leave him a bowl with warm stew in it, as you have noticed that most of the time out of pride he would refuse to eat with the rest of the crew or eat in general. “Why do you people call him ‘Pops’?” He was sitting on the deck with knees pulled towards his body and elbows resting on them, his head was hanging low as he had failed again, and he was getting tired of it.
You felt bad for him. It was obvious that the guy who was the same age as you had been faced with many demons inside his mind and it pained you, because if you put aside his want to fight your father so badly, he was clearly a good person.
“Because he calls them all ‘sons’ or ‘daughters’ and every one of them was hated in one way or another by the world.”  You offered him a gentle smile as he looked up to meet your eyes. “I guess, this brings people joy. It’s a simple word – but it does make them happy.”
“What about you?” The question he asked you took you by surprise which made you giggle. Didn’t he know?
“I have no choice but to call him that.” You said in between giggles as the boy in front of you had confusion written all over his face. “I am his biological daughter, Ace.”
His eyes widen when he heard the words leaving your lips. There was no way that something this beautiful and tender could be this man’s daughter.
You offered him another smile and walked closer to him, squatting down, you looked him in the eyes, this time with a serious look over your face. You knew that this must end once and for all, and the boy sitting in front of you was the one who should make up his mind.
“Ace.” You started and hoped that he would listen. “You got to make up your mind, because this can’t continue.” He looked away from you, avoiding your gaze as he didn’t want to admit that you were right. “You can’t kill him, no matter how much you try and even if you do, what do you gain by doing so?”
You didn’t get any answer to this question, but since that night Ace has changed. He has agreed to be part of the crew and not long after that your father has made him his second division commander.
The more time has passed, the more you two have grown closer, which leads you to right now. You have no idea where he is, how he is or with who he is. Every day you check the newspaper with fear, but you try to tell yourself that no news should be good news. If he is in danger or something has happened to him, it would be known. You two have grown to be extremely close friends to a point where you would always get teased, especially by Marco and Thatch that you two are meant to be more than friends, but you have always ignored them. While Ace was quite oblivious to the fact that you have feelings for him, the rest of the crew isn’t. On top of that, your father has moved you to the second division, which was a surprise for you because since you could remember you were always under Marco’s command, but you chose not to question your father’s choices. Being in the second division only brought you even closer to Ace, and the more you got to know him, the harder you were falling for him, but again no matter what anyone was telling you, you couldn’t bring yourself to confess your feelings for him, afraid of being rejected and making things awkward between you two.
You get up from bed and get ready for the day. Taking a step out of your private cabin you make your way to the deck. Passing by every crew member on the ship you are being greeted with congratulations for your birthday. Getting on the deck you see your father’s big figure sitting on his usual spot with Marco by his side. The moment your father sees you a big smile is placed on his face as he opens his arms, inviting you for a hug.
“Happy Birthday to my dearest child.” His voice echoes around and everyone cheers. Pulling away from his embrace you smiled at him.
“Thank you, dad.” Before you know it another pair of arms wraps around you in a suffocating hug and lifts you a bit from the deck’s floor.
“Happy Birthday little rascal.” Marco’s voice rings in your ears. “Are you excited for tonight?”
“Sure, I am.” You half shrug with your shoulders and chuckle a bit.
“You don’t seem to be.” Izo, who appeared from behind Marco, points out. “Happy Birthday beautiful.” He says and gives you a hug as well.
“Thank you Izo, and yes, I’m excited for tonight. Don’t worry.” You try to brush it off before the teasing starts but it is too late.
“Oh, I’m sure if certain someone was here you would be more excited-yoi.” Marco chuckles and nudges Izo with his elbow. All you do is roll your eyes and ignore him as you don’t have the energy for this right now.
“Any news from him?” You turn to your father, but he just shakes his head and you nod understandingly. “Well, no news is better than bad news.” You whisper to yourself and turn around to walk away from the guys, going on with your chores for the day.
You can’t help but wonder what the man with raven black hair, who happened to steal your heart, is doing. Does he even remember that today is your birthday? He is super forgetful when it comes to things like this, but he did remember it last year, and this let you think to your birthday then – he tricked you into believing that he had forgotten it, only to surprise you later during the night with a trip to a nearby island where you two observed the night sky filled with start all night. Then just before you two got back to the ship he gifted you a red bean bracelet which matched the necklace he wore all the time and since then you haven’t taken it off.
Gestures and moments like that one made you fall in love with him more and more, but the courage to confess or even question if he feels the same way never comes. You know how hard it is for him to understand feelings and emotions in a first place, so you are sure that all he sees in you is a very good friend. Still, all the days and nights spent talking to each other, you or him falling asleep in the others cabin, led to your heart belonging to him and him only.
When he left without a second thought to revenge Thatch’s death without even saying goodbye to you or asking you to go with him left a bitter taste in you. You wanted to go after him, but everyone stopped you from doing so, instead until he comes back you are in charge of the second division, after all your skills in combat and fight strategies are exceptional, so no one in the crew mind you taking over them and it is only until Ace comes back.
The day goes by slowly, but before you know it everyone gathers on the deck and starts celebrating for you and your special day. You are trying to enjoy the night as much as you can, but nothing feels good enough. Your father, Marco, Izo and everyone else are throwing toast after toast in your honor, but you can’t even finish your first drink while everyone else is at least on their fifth or sixth. You are sitting with some of the nurses when your father calls you out to go to him. Excusing yourself you get up and go to your father, wondering what he wants from you now. As much as you love your old man, sometimes he is pain in the ass, and you just hope that tonight he won’t give you one of his life lectures. Taking a seat next to him you give him a questioning look.
“Since when you don’t enjoy celebrating your birthday?” That is all he asks you while taking a glance at you.
“I’m just growing old, I guess.” You shrug, obviously not in the mood for anything and almost done pretending that you are in the mood for any celebration. And this isn’t only for your birthday, you have been like this since Ace left, but today all the feelings you have bottled up feel a little bit heavier than any other day.
“It is because the stubborn brat is not here, isn’t it?” Your dad chuckles with bitterness in his voice. He does miss Ace, too. This is how much of an effect Ace has on people – just like the sun he is attracting everything and everyone towards him. His charisma is so big that there isn’t a possible way in which someone will meet him and not fall in love with him at once. He knows how to charm his way into people’s hearts, especially yours.
“Don’t act like you don’t miss him yourself.” You look over your shoulder at your father and his laughter fills up the air.
“I do miss him. The ship is too quiet without him, there is no one wreaking chaos around.” He says in between laughs. Both of you stay silent for a minute observing the party around you. A deep sigh escapes your lips as you decide to call it a night. You aren’t in the mood, so it is pointless to stay up any longer.
“I’m calling it a night, dad. Don’t drink too much.” You get up and place a kiss on your father’s cheek, wishing him good night. His laughter fills up the air once again as he wishes you good night and tells you not to worry about him.
Making your way to your cabin you stopped a few times as some crew members stopped you for a little chitchat, but it doesn’t take you long to finally reach it. Taking a step in and closing the door behind you, you noticed the big window in it is being open.
“That is strange.” You tell yourself as you remember clearly that you have closed it last time you were in your cabin or maybe you remember wrong. Walking to it you close it and the second it makes the clicking noise that indicates it is being closed, a pair of arms wrap around you with one hand on your middle and the other on your mouth stopping you from screaming.
“Sh, sh, it’s me.” You don’t need to be told twice as you immediately recognise the voice. You relax in the arms that are now strongly wrapping you in a hug. “Happy Birthday, princess.” He whispers in your ear. You waste no more time and turn around to face him. You can’t believe your eyes, after two months you are face to face with the deep dark eyes you have fallen in love with so deeply. This can’t be real, you must be dreaming.
“Ace.” You can feel tears treating to fall from your eyes. “You… you remember.”
“How can I forget.” He chuckles as he pulls you even closer to him. It hits you just now how close the two of you are and how intimate this feels.
“Does anyone else know that you are here?”
“No, only you, and I intended to keep it that way.” He lets go of your body and instead takes your hands in his. “I’m very close to catching Teach and I’m not turning my back to what he did, but I couldn’t help not being part of your special day today.” He said while giving you one of his many charming smiles.
“Please, drop it.” You know that this won’t stop him from going after Blackbeard, but you have to try. “Just come back I beg yo-…”
“Hey, hey I’m here to celebrate you, not argue with you.” He lets a little laughter escape his lips in an attempt to brush off the topic.
“We are all worried sick about you Ace.”
“I’m fine as you can see.” He replies with a little eye roll. “Now birthday girl, how was your day?” He guides you to your bed as you both sit on it. You still can’t process the fact that he is here.
“It was okay.” You shrug. “How did you get on board without getting caught?” It just occurs in your mind that if only you are aware of the fact that he is here right now, this means that he getting on board has been unnoticed by whoever is in charge of the night watch tonight.
“I have my ways.” He winks at you with a little smirk playing on his face.
You two laid down and talked for hours. He told you about how he met his infamous little brother again and that now he has a crew on his own. He told you about all the troubles he had gotten into while searching for Teach, but you weren’t surprised, after all Ace so reckless at times, yet it was so fun listening to his stories while your eyes traced every freckle on his face. You have missed his face so much. You have missed him so much.
Before you know it, the sun is back on the horizon, which means that soon he will be gone. You know that you can’t do anything to change his mind regardless avenging Thatch, but you can’t bare the thought of not seeing him for who knows how long.
“Why did you come here Ace?” The question slips past your lips before you can stop it. “I mean… why did you come back today of all days?” You know how much he values his friends and family, but still… he only showed up for your birthday.
His cheeks get heated. Ace has come all the way here with one thing in mind but now with you in front of him, all his confidence has left the room, and he is not sure what to do or say next.
“It’s… it’s because… I-I know how important this day is for you.” He chuckles awkwardly.
“You are important to me as well.” You tell him not caring about how this will come out.
“And so are you to me.” He swallows hard before raising and sitting up in your bed, you follow him and wait for him to continue. Taking his orange hat off, Ace runs his fingers through his hair, pulling it a bit.
“Ace… are you okay?” You quietly asked.
“Yes, of course, I am.” He tries to brush you off, but you can easily see how tense his muscles are and also noticing that he is… nervous. You have never seen him nervous, what is he nervous for?
“I don’t believe you.” You gently place your hand in his and give it a little squeeze. “You know you can tell me anything. Is it something to do with Teach?” Saying out loud this name you immediately feel the anger building up in him.
“No, this has nothing to do with him.” He grinds his teeth as his jaw clenches, just hearing his subordinate name, who has betrayed your father and all of the crew in the worst way possible, makes his blood boils.
“Then what is it Ace?” Raising one of your brows, you are waiting patiently for him to give you an answer.
“I’m not the best with words and you know this.” He turns his body a bit towards you so he can face you better. “And I know that this might…” He sighs as he is struggling to find the right words. “This might complicate things between us… but… I’m… I-” His cheeks bloom with blush all over them as he looks away for a second before he curses under his breath. “Fuck this.” He says as he cups your face and pulls you closer to him. His lips, soft and plump, captures yours in a sweet full of desire kiss. It takes you less than a second to return it.
You have dreamed of this kiss for so long, maybe since the first week he came on board. His lips, his kiss, is even better than you have imagined – so gentle, yet full of passion. You both pull away at the same time to catch your breath as his hands gently caress your face. Leaning closer to him, your foreheads touch as you share a little eskimo kiss with a little laughter escaping from both of you.
“I missed you, Ace… I missed you so much.” You whisper.
“I missed you more.” He whispers back as he captures your lips once more in a sweet gentle kiss. “I… I have never felt that way before as I feel for you, and I had to make sure that you know it… just in case.”
“Please, don’t go.” You beg. “Or at least let me come with you that way you won’t have to be alone, and we can be together.” You place your hands on his face, cupping it as you kiss him, hoping that this will change his mind.
“I can’t princess.” He pulls away from you and exhales as it pains him – he doesn’t want to leave you, not now when he knows that the love is mutual, but he can’t risk losing you. Looking over his shoulder the morning twilight is set on the horizon, u means it is time for him to go before someone from the crew notice the Striker anchored next to the Moby Dick. “But I will be back here soon, very soon and then we can be together without any worries.” He wipes away the tear that falls down from the corner of your eye. “Don’t cry, I promise you – I will be back before you know it.” He pulls you closer for a hug as he wraps his strong arms around your form and places a kiss on your forehead. “In the meantime, you take good care of the second division, I’m sure you are doing even better job than me.” A soft boyish laughter escapes his lips as he kisses your forehead once more. “Again, I’m bad with words, but you mean everything to me. Never forget that.” He lifts your chin and kisses you one more time before he gets from the bed.
You are still sitting on it, knowing that all you have to do is wait – wait for him to come back to you, so you finally will be able to be together as you have always wanted.
Ace is about to sneak out from your cabin’s window when he turns around and calls out your name.
“I forgot something.” He says as he pulls out a little piece of paper. You get from the bed and stand next to the window where Ace is. He hands you a vivre card. “I forgot to give it to you last time, but now that you have this, no matter what or where I am, you will now know that I’m alright and that soon I will be back to you.” His hand reaches once again for your face and cares it so gently as if you are made of glass. With one last look he turns around and jumps over your window, but you grab his hand as he is about to run away.
“I love you, Ace.” You say as both of you are staring into each other’s eyes. “Please, come back to me soon.” With a heavy sigh you let go of his hand and look down at the vivre card he has given you, placing it to your heart with your hands on it.
“I will.” He says with a smile tilting his hat before running away and jumping out of the ship.
You hear the rumbling of the Striker and with that he is gone. But he will be back soon – after all he has promised you and Ace always keep his promises, and now that you have his vivre card you will never need to worry about any newspapers or so as, as long as it it pointing towards his direction you can and will always find your way to him and know that he is well and unharmed. Loving a man like Ace is a challenge, but you are willing to take this challenge any day because Ace is Ace, and you would never asked for anyone else but him.

How they'd spend Valentine's Day with you
Pairings: Penguin, Marco, Franky, Izou x Reader Tags: sfw, fluff, established relationship, GN but written with F!Reader in mind, no use of y/n
a/n: you might be thinking, what a random set of characters! well, a while ago i did a poll on which of my blorbos i should write a valentine’s fic for, and Killer won, but i still felt like doing something for the other characters who didn’t win, so here are some valentine’s day headcanons with them! i hope you enjoy this and please be on the lookout for the Killer fic on 14 feb too 😘
Tumblr media
Penguin
Penguin would be the type to ask “Will you be my Valentine’s?” every single time on Valentine’s Day, even after years of dating.
When you say yes, like you always do, he’d grin so wide and give you a big smooch right on your lips.
Penguin loves to spoil you with gifts.
He’d take you out on a special date to the market, indulging you as you browse the many stalls there one by one.
Without you knowing, he’d pay attention and take note of all the things you touched and admired, the stuff you’d eye for a tad bit too long, the items that made your eyes sparkle.
He’d buy every single one of them.
At the end of the day, his bag would be stuffed with all the little trinkets, to the point that it would be hard for him to hide it from you.
Before you return to the Polar Tang, he’d hand over the bag to you with a shy smile, which would turn into a wide grin when he witnessed your surprised expression and gasp of delight.
His face would flush as you hug him tight and pepper kisses all over his face.
He’d never get tired of receiving affection from you. That, for him, is the most precious gift of all.
Tumblr media
Marco
Marco was not a fan of Valentine’s Day. He had always thought it trivial... at least, until he met you.
On your first Valentine’s Day as a couple, he’d be so nervous that he’d ask Ace for advice.
The Fire Fist would recommend candlelight dinners, romantic poetries, breakfast in bed – but none of them seemed right.
For Marco, loving you is as simple as breathing, as natural as flying. He had never felt the need to do grand gestures to show his love, and you never expected him to either. You have never felt more loved than the time you spent with Marco.
It would come as a surprise when a knock sounds on your door, and you open it to reveal a bashful Marco holding a humble bunch of hand-picked flowers.
His face would be bright red as he asks for your hand, inviting you out to the deck. You’d follow in confusion, even more so when he tells you to hop onto his back.
He’d spread his wings of blue flames and take you to the skies, laughing when you yelp in shock and tighten your grip around his neck, eyes firmly shut
He’d urge you to open your eyes, and you’d gasp in wonder at the sight of the bright stars all around you.
You’d relax and enjoy the wind on your face, occasionally giving him a peck on the cheek from your perch on his back.
Fear would not find you for the rest of the flight, despite the terrifying height.
You were with Marco, after all. He would never let you fall.
Tumblr media
Franky
Franky is definitely a romantic and you bet he’d go all out for Valentine’s.
You’d be randomly visited by robot doves singing love songs. You’d find little love notes folded into hearts tucked in your drawers, slid underneath your door, and not-so-subtly slipped into your pockets.
The day would culminate in a romantic dinner on the upper deck of the Sunny.
He’d stand there with a suit (no pants, of course), the red bow tie matching his speedos and the massive bouquet of roses he’s holding out to you.
He’d grin, “Happy Valentine’s, Sugar.”
Before him would be a table for two, complete with a white tablecloth, candles, and a scatter of rose petals.
He’d pull out your chair, not forgetting to compliment your looks and outfit, of course.
He would've begged Sanji to make all of your favorite meals, bribing him with a new state-of-the-art lock for the fridge.
You two would share a toast with cola-filled wine glasses and spend the night just chatting and laughing together, and maybe shamelessly flirting too.
After dinner, he’d treat you to a spectacular fireworks show, and you’d wonder how he managed to make the pink sparks explode into heart patterns all over the night sky.
A sweet kiss would be the cherry on top following dessert, the sugary taste lingering as he’d drag you to some secret corner on the Sunny that only he knew about.
Tumblr media
Izou
Izou never so much as holds your hand in front of other people.
“It’s not very becoming of Wano men to show public displays of affection,” would be his usual excuse.
You never really minded. You’re plenty satisfied with the affection he showers you with whenever the two of you are alone.
But on Valentine’s Day, as the Whitebeard Pirates party the night away at a crowded bar, Izou would suddenly grasp your hips and pull you into his lap, his hand possessively resting against your thigh.
You’d quirk an eyebrow at him, “I thought it wasn’t becoming of Wano men to show public displays of affection.”
“Well, I’m a pirate now. I can do whatever I want.”
You’d laugh, knowing him well enough to figure out that he just wanted the other men at the bar to back off, in case they get ideas of wooing you during this Day of Love.
After a while, you’d drag him away from the bar, eagerly leading him to the shore where you can take a leisurely stroll beneath the moon.
Moonlit walks are among Izou's favorite things to do, and he had started taking you with him when you two became a couple.
You love how the moon illuminates his face and reflects off his hair. You love how serene and romantic these quiet walks with Izou are
But most of all, you love how it would be just the two of you out there on the shore, and you know that Izou’s hands and lips are always the most free when no one is watching.

I absolutely adored the HC’s you did! 💗
Would you please be happy to do a Izou scenario?
What about being in Izou’s division as a second in command and the two of them go on a mission together?
Reader gets badly injured and thinking she won’t survive confesses to Izou that she‘S liked him for some time now, but was too much of a coward to admit her feelings because he appears to her so ethereal and otherworldly?
Let’s be honest Izou is one of the most beautiful and pretty people around in one piece 😌
Thank you! 💗
Yes, Yes he is. He's my 3rd favorite character (Sabo and Ace are first and second because I love them). I'm glad you enjoyed the HC's and I hope you like this too.
Warnings: blood loss, injuries, light gruesome depictions,
Word Count: 1325
Being the commander of the 16th division, Izou hadn’t expected the mission to be easy. That being said, he also hadn’t expected to be hiding in a cave, with you clutching a bad sword wound across your stomach. You were his ‘second-in-command’ the person who took on his role when he was unable to complete them, aided him with his duties when they became too much and always had his back. You were the ‘first mate’ to his ‘captain’. Someone who always had his back and had the strength to prove it. Laying you on the ground, Izou gently removed your arm from your stomach, pulling your shirt up to see the gash. It would leave a scar, that was for certain, and it probably hurt like hell. If he could get you to Marco soon, the scarring would probably be minimal, but there was no telling how long the two of you would have to wait here. The pirates that had tried to invade one of Pops’ territories was stronger than previously reported and left the two of you woefully underprepared for their force. The two of you were probably lucky to get out with only this much, this crew seemed particularly vicious.
“So, how’s it look?” you asked, wincing in pain as you tilted your head back, grinding your teeth.
“About as well as you’d expect from a would like this. We need to get you back to Marco as soon as possible.” he said, grabbing one of his kimono sleeves. You looked up just in time to see him tearing the fabric, before tearing it into strips as he made a makeshift bandage for you, “This should help for now, but I’m hoping to get out of here before too much longer.” he said, tying the last knot on the fabric that wrapped around your stomach. You could only nod, not sure what to say. What could you say? Thank you wasn’t enough, you felt a little guilty that he’d ruined one of his kimonos for you, but you knew he’d never accept an apology for something like this.
“I’ll be fine, I can’t exactly let you ruin a kimono and go die, now can I?” you joked, trying to mask your pain. Izou gave you a small smile and nodded. He knew you were just trying to cheer him up, but it was sweet of you. You’d always been fairly sweet, something that he liked about you.
It felt like you were waiting an eternity, laying on the ground of the cave, trying to take deep breaths as the pain came and went in waves, each one seeming to crash harder than the last. Though maybe that was your imagination. Feeling something in your hand, you looked up, finding Izou to your side, your hand in his.
“Just hang in there, squeeze my hand if you need to. It shouldn’t be much longer.” he said softly, making you smile. Even now, with his hair disheveled, his kimono torn, make-up smudged, and face lightly smeared with dirt, you couldn’t help but admire his beauty. The most beautiful man on the Grand Line, no one could convince you otherwise. To you, he always looked like some divine being from the heavens, a beauty so great that it couldn’t possibly be from this world.
An eternity later passed before you pulled his on hand, drawing his attention away from keeping a lookout.
“Izou… I… I’m bleeding pretty badly, I probably won’t make it back.” you said, squeezing his hand again as another shot of pain hit you.
“You’re going to be fine, Y/n. Just a little longer, I promise.” he said, giving you a worried smile. You just shook your head, you were too weak, there was no way you could make it back.
“Pretty sure I’m not so I’d uh… I’d like to confess something.” you said, making the man look at you in concern. Taking a deep breath, you smiled at him, “I’ve liked you for years. Not as your second-in-command, not as friends, but… Liked you. I… I love you.” you said softly as Izou stared at you for a moment, “I couldn’t say anything before because I mean, look at you, you’re so… you have a beauty to you that just… like you’re from another world.” you said. Izou opened his mouth to say something, eyes widening when your body went limp. No, no this couldn’t be happening! Not to you! Not to the most spectacular woman he’d ever met, not before he could tell you that he loved you back.
Groaning in pain, you opened your eyes. Weren’t you not supposed to feel pain after your death? Looking around, your brow furrowed. This looked like the infirmary. Sitting up, you winced, if this was the infirmary, why did everything hurt so badly? Wouldn’t Marco have healed you? Still, it wasn’t as bad as it had been before. Slowly, you removed the bandages, knowing that if and when Marco caught you, he’d kill you, but you had to see for yourself. The wound was stitched closed and looked like it was healing fine. Maybe you weren’t dead? An exasperated sigh drew your attention. Sure enough, there was Marco, looking at you rather irritably.
“I’ll have Ace get Izou for you while I rebandage your wound.” he said, telling the fire user to grab the division commander as he inspected your wound. It was already unbandaged, he might as well check it before rebandaging it. It didn’t take too long for the door to slam open, a frantic looking Izou standing in the doorway. A few strands of hair had fallen loose from their usual place and his eyes were wide as they landed upon you, but he looked better than he had back on the island. He was next to you in an instant, pushing Marco aside and pulling you into a tight embrace, much to the doctor’s annoyance.
“If you ever scare me like that again, I’ll have Pops put you on deck duty for a month! How can you just admit you love me when you think you’re dying?!” Izou said, his voice wavering as he held you, “You never even gave me a chance to respond! Don’t you know how rude it is to not give a person a chance to respond? How do you think I’d feel knowing that the woman of my dreams died after confessing her feelings to me without ever knowing that I feel the same way about her?!” he continued, his body trembling slightly.
“Bad, now get off my patient!” Marco demanded, pulling Izou away so he could continue checking your wound. While he understood that you two wanted a touching moment, it could wait until after your stomach had been rebandaged!
Sitting in your bed, you let Izou hold you. You weren’t confined to the infirmary anymore, but you were still on bedrest, meaning that Izou had been taking every spare moment he had to visit you, hold you, and keep you company. After a very long, in-depth conversation, he’d told you that he’d felt the same way for quite some time, but had been concerned about your positions as commander and second-in-command to say anything. But when you’d confessed and then fallen unconscious, he hadn’t known what to do with himself. He never wanted something like that to happen again, he wanted you to know how he felt. Running your hand over the still healing wound, you couldn’t help but smile as you turned to him.
“For all the pain, the trouble, the worry, I… I think I’m kind of glad how things turned out. I’m not dead and I have you.” you said softly, caressing his cheek. Izou could only nod in agreement, giving you a light kiss. He wasn’t exactly happy with how it had happened, but he was content with the outcome so he wouldn’t complain.

I was wondering if you can you please write a one shot of Izo x reader where the reader is the daughter of Kozuki Oden and Toki. After the death of her parents, Izo decides to protect her at all costs, even willing to give his life for her. He becomes extremely protective, not allowing any of Whitebeard’s other commanders to approach her.
During Marineford, she is determined to fight for Ace, but Izo refuses to let her join the battle, insisting that she stay on the ship. His only goal is to protect her, which leads to tension between them. After Marineford, they end up having a heated argument because she feels frustrated that he wouldn’t let her fight.
As days goes on, Izo realizes he has fallen in love with her, but he struggles with his feelings. He knows that he can’t love her because she’s the daughter of oden and he had a huge respect for him, he promised he would protect her. Later, Izo will not be able to confess his love to him because the day he decides to finally express his feelings, he dies. It’s Marco who will tell her.
Let's Meet in Our Next Life
BIG WANO ARC AND MARINEFORD SPOILERS!!!!
Tumblr media
izo x oden's daughter!reader
a/n: okay to not make it weird that he falls for a child I made a quick calculation of each one’s age. Izo is around 25 when Oden dies. Oden is 39 and Toki around 36, I think. I’ll make Oden and Toki have a child at a young age so that reader is at least 18 when they die. Hope you don’t mind this but it’s to not make it uncomfortable. + I cried so much when he died in the anime and writing this I cried all over again, so thank you anon o(TヘTo)

The flames of Oden Castle still burn brightly in your memory. It was a night that changed everything.
You can still hear your father’s final words echo in your mind, his brave smile as he faced the fires of his execution. His eyes locked with yours for the briefest of moments, his gaze full of love, trust, and something else you couldn’t quite place then.
And then, your mother Toki was gone too, torn from this world too early, her life snuffed out with a quiet grace that almost made it harder to bear. Her final message, sent through time, had been your hope but now, with the two people you loved most taken from you, that hope feels like a cruel joke.
How did you get here?
How did you end up so far from Wano?
How did you end up on the Moby Dick?
It was a blur in the days following Oden and Toki’s deaths. The anger, the grief, the burning desire for revenge… Everything was overwhelming. You’d always thought you’d find a way to live up to their legacy, but after everything that happened, after witnessing the cruelty of Kaido and Orochi, you felt hollow. Empty.
And you ran.
You didn’t want to be trapped in Wano, a place that held too many painful memories. You couldn’t bear to live in a world where your father and mother were gone, and yet you were still breathing. So you ran, slipping away in the dead of night, boarding a ship that could take you anywhere.
It was then that somehow Izo found you, maybe destiny brought you here.
He had always been a protector, someone who stood by Oden’s side through thick and thin, a loyal member of the Whitebeard Pirates, and a man you always admired from afar. He found you when you were most vulnerable, clinging to the edge of a world you no longer understood.
“I won’t let you face this alone” Izou had said softly when he found you at a quiet port. His words were steady, like the calm before a storm, and for the first time in days, you allowed yourself to let someone else take care of you.
You didn’t protest when he insisted you come aboard Whitebeard’s ship. Despite the nagging feeling that you didn’t belong there, you couldn’t find the strength to argue.
Now, as you stand on the deck of the Moby Dick, Izo is at your side, watching the ocean with that stoic expression of his.
Tumblr media
It has been two years since you first joined the Whitebeard Pirates. You’re not the carefree girl who once dreamed of a life beside your parents in Wano anymore. No, now you’re someone who wears the grief of your loss like a heavy cloak, and every day is a struggle to push forward. You don’t even know where your siblings are. But you aren’t alone anymore. Izo is always there, a constant presence by your side, his gaze always watchful, his protective instincts sharper than ever.
“You’re quiet today” Izou says, breaking the silence. He doesn’t look at you, but his voice is soft, as though he already knows exactly how you’re feeling.
You nod, staring at the horizon “Just thinking.”
“You miss them”
The words are simple, yet they hit you like a stone in the chest. You swallow, trying to hide the tightness in your throat “Yeah.”
Izou’s eyes shift toward you then, his gaze full of understanding, but also something deeper. He knows the pain you carry because he carried it too. The weight of Oden’s death, the constant reminder that the world took away two of the most important people in your life.
“I made a promise to myself… to Oden…” he says quietly, his voice lower than usual “I promised him I would protect you. I’m sure he knows.”
You flinch, not from anger, but from the reminder of what that promise means.
“You’re not my father, Izou...” you murmur “You don’t need to protect me.”
Izo doesn’t flinch. He doesn’t break eye contact “I'm not. But I swore to him that I would. And I intend to keep that promise.”
“You promised it to the void, so don’t worry too much about breaking that promise”
The silence between you both is thick, the tension palpable. For a moment, neither of you speaks, the weight of Oden’s death hanging in the air, pressing down on both of you.
Tumblr media
Days pass as you sail with the Whitebeard Pirates. The Moby Dick rocks gently against the waves, the only sound being the soft murmur of the sea and the occasional command from one of the commanders. But you, you are lost in your thoughts, struggling to shake the constant weight of the unknown that gnaws at your mind.
You haven’t heard anything about your siblings since you left Wano.
You try not to dwell on it. You’ve heard whispers among the crew about the situation in Wano, but no one speaks of it openly, and you certainly don’t have the strength to ask. Your thoughts are a storm of confusion, what happened to your little brother and sister? Are they alive? Did they manage to survive the chaos, the destruction, or has Wano swallowed them up like it swallowed so much of your family?
“What’s on your mind?”
You look up to find Izo standing there, his arms crossed over his chest as he watches you with that same concerned expression he always wears.
“Nothing...” you reply quickly, trying to mask the weight of your worry with a forced smile.
Izo doesn’t buy it, of course. His eyes narrow, studying you for a long moment. He can always tell when something is bothering you, but he never presses you too hard.
“Are you thinking about them again?” he asks, his voice softer now.
You stiffen slightly “My brother, and my sister... I… I don’t know where they are” The words come out more quietly than you intended, a sigh slipping from your lips as you look out at the endless ocean “I don’t know what happened to them, if they’re okay, if they’re still alive…”
Izo stays silent, his gaze never leaving you. You can feel the weight of his gaze, but it’s not judgmental. It’s full of something you can’t place.
“They’re strong,” he says after a long pause “They have your parents' blood in them. They’ll be okay.”
You nod, but even as you do, a part of you can’t shake the fear that gnaws at your insides.
Izo turns to walk away, but then he hesitates and glances back at you “Don’t lose hope,” he adds, his voice low, almost a whisper “You’re not alone.”
Izo has always been protective about you, even when it's about the crew, but lately something is always off. There’s an air of exaggerating protectiveness around you, one that feels suffocating at times. Izo doesn’t allow any of Whitebeard’s commanders to approach you without his permission.
Of course you’ve spent time with the crew before, you’ve sparred with some of them, shared meals, even laughed around the fire. But lately, Izo’s presence around you is constant, always shadowing your every move, always keeping the others at a distance.
You notice it with Ace.
The man is friendly, charismatic, and without a doubt, one of the most powerful members of the crew. You’ve seen the way he interacts with the everyone, always a smile on his face, always laughing, always reaching out to others with a sense of warmth that draws people in.
But when Ace approaches you one evening on the deck, Izo steps in immediately, blocking his path with his usual calm intensity.
“Not now,” Izo says firmly, his voice low “She’s not in the mood for company.”
Ace raises an eyebrow, clearly caught off guard by Izo’s bluntness “You don’t get to decide that for her...” His voice holds a hint of annoyance, but there’s no anger behind it, just confusion.
But Izo doesn’t budge “I’m just doing my job.”
“Seriously, Izo?” you ask, stepping forward, your voice sharp “What’s the problem? I can talk to Ace, can’t I?”
Izo’s gaze softens, but his resolve doesn’t change “Not today.”
You can feel the tension building between the two men, but before it can escalate, Ace holds up his hands in mock surrender.
“It’s fine, it’s fine,” Ace says with a smirk, clearly not wanting to cause a scene “I’ll back off. But I’ll see you around, alright?” His eyes meet yours, and despite Izo’s heavy presence, there’s a warmth there that comforts you.
“I’ll catch you later” you reply quietly.
As Ace walks away, Izo’s shoulders relax, but you can feel the unease in the air, a palpable sense of possessiveness.
“Why can’t I talk to Ace?” you ask, voice edged with frustration “He's my best friend. You’re treating me like some fragile thing.”
Izo doesn’t meet your eyes. He’s silent for a moment, and you can almost hear the weight of his thoughts.
“It’s not that,” he says at last, his voice quieter now, as if he’s been waiting to say this “It’s just… it’s not safe for you. Not yet. You’ve been through too much already. You need time to heal.”
“But I’m not fragile!” you snap “I’m not a child, Izo!”
He looks at you then, his expression softening for just a moment “I know you’re not, but… ugh, nevermind. Do as you want."
"Oh well, thank you..." you say sarcastically before leaving.
Izo’s protectiveness only grows worse as the weeks pass. You begin to notice it more, how he always stands near you during meals, how his sharp gaze follows every move you make, how he subtly steers you away from certain conversations. You try to ignore it at first, brushing it off as his way of fulfilling the promise he made to your father, but as time goes on, it starts to feel suffocating.
And you hate it.
Even the other commanders have started to notice. Marco gives Izo amused looks but doesn’t question him outright. Vista jokes about it once, only to receive a sharp glare from Izo that immediately shuts him up. The younger division members don’t even bother trying to talk to you anymore, afraid of drawing Izo’s ire.
But Ace? Ace is different.
Somehow, despite Izo’s best efforts, Ace always finds a way to get to you.
“You’re really pushing it,” you murmur to him one evening as the two of you sit on the edge of the deck, legs dangling over the side. The ocean stretches endlessly before you, the moonlight reflecting off the waves. It’s one of the rare moments of peace you get, away from Izo’s watchful eyes.
Ace grins, completely unbothered “What can I say? I like a challenge.”
You roll your eyes “You do realize Izo might actually kill you one of these days, right?”
Ace leans back on his hands, tilting his head toward the sky “Nah, he wouldn’t. He’d probably just shoot me a few times and call it a day.”
You can’t help but laugh at that, shaking your head “You’re ridiculous.”
“But you like me anyway” he teases, nudging your shoulder.
You shove him lightly “I tolerate you.”
Ace throws his head back and laughs, a full, genuine sound that makes your chest feel lighter. You don’t realize how tense you’ve been until now, sitting here with him, sharing quiet moments that remind you of what it feels like to just exist without the weight of your past dragging you down.
“Izo’s not gonna stop, you know” Ace says after a while, his tone more serious now.
You sigh, staring down at the water “I know.”
“And you’re just gonna let him keep treating you like a kid?”
You don’t answer immediately. It’s not that simple. You know Izo isn’t doing this to control you, he truly believes he’s protecting you. But it doesn’t change the fact that you feel suffocated, like you’re being forced to live in the shadow of a past you can never escape.
“I don’t know what to do” you admit, voice barely above a whisper.
Ace doesn’t say anything at first. Then, after a moment, he leans forward, resting his arms on his knees “Why don't you just tell him you like him back, maybe he'll stop.”
You laugh it off right away, it's not the first time Ace says something like this "Oh you need to shut up"
Tumblr media
The confrontation with Izo happens sooner than you expect.
You’re in the middle of a training session when it happens, sparring with one of the crew members. You feel alive in these moments, like you’re finally doing something, like you’re in control.
Then, just as you’re about to land a strike, a gunshot echoes through the air.
The fight halts instantly. Your opponent stumbles back, wide-eyed, as you turn sharply toward the source of the shot.
Izo stands a few feet away, his pistol still raised, smoke curling from the barrel. His expression is unreadable, but his eyes are hard, sharp like daggers.
“Enough” he says coldly.
Your grip tightens around your sword “What the fuck, Izo?”
“You shouldn’t be fighting.”
Your chest burns with frustration “It’s training. What is your problem?”
Izo’s jaw clenches “My problem is that you’re putting yourself in danger.”
You throw your hands up “I live on a pirate ship! Danger is everywhere! You can’t just keep me locked away forever!”
Izo steps forward, his voice dangerously low “I can keep you safe.”
You stare at him, breathing heavily “You’re not keeping me safe. You’re keeping me from living.”
The words hit him harder than you expect. His eyes widen just a fraction, his shoulders tensing. For the first time, he looks uncertain.
“You promised to protect me, I get that” you continue, your voice shaking “But this isn’t protection, Izou. It’s control. And I won’t live like this.”
Silence stretches between you, thick and suffocating. The crew watches quietly, no one daring to interfere.
Then, without another word, you turn and walk away.
Izou doesn’t stop you.
Tumblr media
The moment the news reaches the Moby Dick, your blood runs cold.
Ace has been captured.
Ace, your best friend, the one who made you laugh when you thought you’d never smile again, is going to be executed.
You barely hear the murmurs of the crew as Whitebeard’s commanders gather, strategizing, preparing for the inevitable war that is about to unfold. Your mind is clouded with a single thought.
I have to save him.
But Izo… Izou won’t let you.
“You’re not coming” he says firmly, blocking your way as you try to step onto the deck where the others are preparing for battle.
Your hands curl into fists “Izou, move.”
“No.” His voice is sharp, unyielding, and his dark eyes burn with an intensity that makes your breath hitch “This isn’t up for debate.”
Your frustration boils over “Ace is my best friend! I have to fight!”
Izo’s jaw clenches, his hands tightening at his sides “My job is to protect you.”
Your chest tightens “And what about Ace? He protected me! He was there when I needed someone! Now he needs us, and you want me to just sit here and do nothing?”
Izo exhales sharply, pinching the bridge of his nose as if trying to compose himself “This isn’t about Ace. It’s about you. Do you understand what kind of battlefield Marineford is going to be? This isn’t a fight you can win.”
Your teeth grit in frustration “I don’t care! I couldn't even try save my parents. I’d rather die fighting for him than sit here while he—”
“Enough!”
The sheer force of Izou’s voice startles you into silence. His expression is unreadable, but there’s something raw in his eyes, something deeper than anger.
You take a shaky breath, trying to steady your voice “Izo, please…”
His gaze softens just a fraction, but his resolve doesn’t waver “I promised Oden I’d keep you safe,” he says, voice quieter now “And I won’t break that promise. Not even for you.”
Tears of frustration prick at your eyes “My dad wouldn’t want me to hide while the people I love are in danger! Fuck you Izou...”
Izo looks away, his lips pressed into a thin line “You’re staying on this ship. That’s final.”
Then, before you can argue, he turns and walks away.
Leaving you behind.
You feel the ship shake beneath you as the battle unfolds. You can hear the sounds of war... gunfire, the clash of swords, the screams of the fallen. And you’re not there.
Your grip on the ship’s railing tightens until your knuckles turn white. Every fiber of your being is screaming at you to move, to run, to find a way to Ace.
Izo had locked you in one of the lower decks before leaving with the others. But he should’ve known better. You always find a way.
With a stolen blade and sheer determination, you manage to break out, slipping through the chaos that has consumed Marineford. The moment your feet hit the battlefield, you’re running, dodging Marines, cutting down anyone who stands in your way.
Your only goal is Ace.
But before you can reach him, a familiar figure steps into your path.
Izou.
His clothes are stained with blood, his face streaked with dirt and sweat. But his eyes hold the same unwavering determination as before.
“You shouldn’t be here” he says through gritted teeth, his pistol still raised from the last enemy he shot down.
You shake your head, refusing to back down “I have to be here.”
Izo’s grip on his pistol tightens, his breath unsteady “Damn it, why don’t you listen?”
“Izo—”
Before you can say another word, an explosion rocks the battlefield, sending both of you stumbling. You barely have time to recover before a group of Marines rushes toward you.
Izo moves on instinct.
He steps in front of you, firing shot after shot with deadly precision. His movements are quick, controlled, but you can see the exhaustion in his stance, the way his breath comes just a little too fast.
You don’t hesitate.
With your sword in hand, you fight alongside him, your strikes quick and brutal. The two of you move in sync, a deadly force cutting through the enemy lines. For a moment, just a moment, you think you might actually make it.
Then you hear Ace’s scream and your heart stops.
You whip around just in time to see it, the magma, the fatal strike, the way Ace’s body crumples as Akainu’s fist pierces through him.
Time seems to slow. The battle, the noise, everything else fades. All you can hear is the blood rushing in your ears, all you can feel is the sheer, all-consuming horror that grips your chest.
“Ace!”
You don’t remember moving. One second you’re standing beside Izo, the next you’re running toward Ace, desperate, reckless...
A hand grabs your wrist, yanking you back.
It’s Izo.
“Let me go!” You scream, struggling against his grip, but he won’t release you.
“You can’t save him!” Izo’s voice is hoarse, his fingers digging into your skin as he holds you back “You’ll die if you go any further!”
Tears blur your vision as you thrash against him “I don’t care! I can’t—Ace—please!”
But it’s too late.
Ace falls.
And you shatter.
The battle is lost. Ace is gone. Whitebeard is gone. The war ends, but the pain doesn’t.
You don’t remember much after Marineford. It’s all a haze of grief, of exhaustion, of emptiness. The crew mourns, but you? You feel like you’re drowning.
You avoid Izo. You can’t look at him without remembering how he held you back, how he stopped you from reaching Ace in his final moments.
But one night, as you sit alone on the deck, staring blankly at the sea, Izo approaches.
“You hate me” he says quietly.
You don’t answer.
He exhales a shaky breath “I never wanted to hurt you.”
Your hands tremble “Then why did you stop me?”
“Because I couldn’t lose you too.”
His voice cracks, and for the first time, you hear it, the raw pain, the guilt that’s been eating away at him.
Your chest tightens painfully, a lump forming in your throat as you turn to face him “Everyone I love ends up dying.” Your voice is barely above a whisper, but it cuts through the silence like a blade “First my parents. Maybe even my own sibilings. Now Ace. And someday, it’s going to be you too, isn’t it?”
Izou stiffens, his eyes widening slightly.
You swallow hard, tears welling up in your eyes “Please, Izo” you beg, voice breaking “Stop protecting me. Protect yourself instead.”
Something in Izo’s expression shatters. For the first time, you see the conflict in his eyes, the war between his promise to Oden and the feelings he refuses to acknowledge.
But still, he shakes his head.
“I can’t,” he whispers “I won’t.”
Tears spill down your cheeks, silent and unstoppable.
Izo reaches for you hesitantly, as if afraid you’ll push him away. But you don’t. You let him pull you into his arms, and for the first time since Marineford, you let yourself cry.
“I’m sorry,” he murmurs against your hair “I’m so sorry.”
And despite everything, despite the grief and the loss and the pain, you believe him.
You don’t know if you’ll ever forgive him.
But you don’t push him away.
Not this time.

Years Later
Time moves forward, but some wounds never fully heal.
You stay with the Whitebeard Pirates, but things are all different now. You’re different. The war took a part of you that you’ll never get back. The pain of losing Ace lingers, but you learn to live with it, even if it never fades.
And Izo?
He never stops protecting you.
Even after you’ve grown stronger, after you’ve proven yourself countless times, he still keeps a close eye on you. But there’s something different now, something unspoken, something heavy that lingers between you like a storm waiting to break.
At first, you don’t notice it, but Izo does. He notices the way his heart beats faster when you smile, the way his chest tightens whenever you’re in danger, the way he can never quite bring himself to leave your side.
He loves you, and it terrifies him. Because you’re Oden’s daughter, and he made a promise to protect you, not to love you. And yet, no matter how hard he tries to bury his feelings, they only grow stronger.
He watches you laugh with Marco and feels an unfamiliar pang in his chest. He catches you training late at night and has to resist the urge to pull you away, to tell you to stop pushing yourself so hard. Every time you meet his eyes, he wonders if you can see the war raging inside him, the love he knows he can never confess.
Because it wouldn’t be right.
Because he doesn’t deserve it.
Because if he tells you… he’s afraid he’ll never be able to let go.
So he keeps his distance. He hides behind duty, behind old promises.
And you never notice... or maybe you do, but you never push him to say what you already suspect.
Until the day he decides he can’t keep it in any longer.
The day he decides to tell you the truth.
The day he dies.
Tumblr media
You always knew you would return to Wano one day, after years of running from the ghosts of your past, only to find yourself back where it all began.
Kaido and Orochi still rule Wano, and you know this is the last chance to take back the land your father died for. You owe it to him. To your mother. To your siblings, wherever they may be.
And Izo is right there with you.
Like he always is.
“You should stay out of this fight” Izo says, voice quiet.
You scoff, staring out at the battlefield below. The alliance is gathering, preparing for the final battle against Kaido “You still don’t get it, do you?”
He exhales sharply “I get it more than you think.”
You turn to face him “Then you should know that nothing you say will stop me.”
Izo watches you for a long moment. His gaze is unreadable, but there’s something in it that makes your chest tighten.
“You’ve changed” he murmurs.
You blink “So have you.”
He smiles faintly, but there’s something sad about it. As if he knows something you don’t.
He opens his mouth like he wants to say more but then Marco calls his name in the distance, cutting the moment short. Izo hesitates. Then, with one last look, he turns and walks away.
Stepping back onto Wano soil feels like walking into a dream, one that teeters on the edge of a nightmare. Everything is both familiar and foreign. The scent of the earth, the distant mountains, the cold wind that rushes through the trees.
The moment the samurai lay eyes on you, the battlefield seems to freeze. Murmurs spread through their ranks. They look at you like a ghost from the past, like a memory brought back to life. And you match the look on their faces.
Then, one of them steps forward.
“You…” Denjiro’s voice is thick with emotion “You’re alive. Your brother and sister will be so happy...”
You barely have time to react...They're alive. Before you can say anything you’re pulled into a crushing embrace.
It’s overwhelming, the flood of emotions, the weight of years apart. Kin’emon, Raizo, Kawamatsu, they all gather around, their expressions shifting from shock to quiet relief.
And then there’s Kiku.
At first, she doesn’t see him. Her gaze is locked on you, her lips parted in disbelief.
Then—“Izo?”
The sound of his name spoken in her voice makes something tighten in your chest.
Slowly, Kiku turns her head, her eyes landing on the man standing protectively beside you.
Izo doesn’t speak right away. He just stares, taking in the sight of his younger sibling after decades apart. His fingers twitch at his sides, as if unsure whether to reach out or hold back.
Then, finally—“Kiku.”
She moves before he can say another word.
The hug is immediate, fierce, and wordless. Izo stiffens for only a second before exhaling shakily and wrapping his arms around her.
You watch them, a soft, bittersweet smile tugging at your lips.
Then you realize the other samurai are staring at you.
“You and Izou-dono…” Raizo squints suspiciously “Are you…?”
Denjiro crosses his arms, nodding knowingly “I did wonder why you arrived together. It all makes sense now.”
Kin’emon clears his throat, visibly flustered “A-As Oden-sama’s daughter, I suppose it is natural that you would choose a strong samurai like Izo!”
Your eyes widen “What?”
“You don’t have to hide it!” Kawamatsu insists, nodding sagely “It is admirable that you have found love, even in times of war.”
Your face heats instantly “We’re not—!”
Izo sighs beside you, pinching the bridge of his nose “For the love of—no. It’s not like that.”
Kiku tilts her head, looking between the two of you “Oh? But you do seem… very close. And very cute together.”
Izo groans “That’s because—” He hesitates, glancing at you, then shakes his head “Never mind. Forget it.”
Your heart skips a beat.
For a second you think you see something flicker in his expression. Something hesitant. But before you can dwell on it, the war calls.
And you don’t realize it yet…
But this was one of the last moments you would ever have with him.
Tumblr media
The flames of war consume Wano. Screams echo across the battlefield, swords clash, and blood stains the ground.
You push forward, cutting through enemy after enemy, heart pounding in your chest. There’s no time to rest, no time to hesitate. The only thing that matters is winning.
You glance around, searching for familiar faces. Your allies fight desperately, pushing toward victory. But one face is missing.
Izo.
You haven’t seen him in hours.
A sinking feeling settles in your gut.
And then a terrible thought strikes you.
You turn, sprinting through the battlefield, ignoring the shouts of your allies calling your name. Your heart beats faster with every step.
No.
Not him.
You run fast, avoiding everything and everyone else.
You find him lying in the rubble.
At first, you think this can’t be real, but then you see the blood.
The way his body lies still, his pistols fallen from his hands.
Your breath catches in your throat. Your vision blurs as you drop to your knees beside him.
“Izo…” Your voice trembles as you reach out, shaking his shoulder “Come on. Get up.”
Nothing.
Your hands shake. Your chest tightens.
You press your fingers to his neck searching, praying for a pulse.
But there’s nothing.
A choked sob escapes your lips “No… No, no, no, this isn’t happening—!”
You clutch his jacket, shaking him harder “Wake up, damn it! This isn’t funny!”
Silence.
The battlefield fades away. The war around you doesn’t matter anymore.
Because the one person who swore to protect you… is gone.
And you never got to tell him that you loved him too.
Tumblr media
The war ends. Wano is free.
But it doesn’t feel like a victory anymore.
You sit beside Izo’s grave, staring at the freshly carved stone. Your fingers trace his name, but the letters feel foreign. Unreal.
Footsteps crunch behind you. Marco.
He sits beside you without a word. For a long time, neither of you speak.
Then, quietly, he says, “He talked to me about you a lot, you know.”
You swallow hard, keeping your eyes on the grave “What?”
Marco exhales, rubbing the back of his neck “He never said it outright, but… Izo loved you.” His voice is softer than you’ve ever heard it “He used to rant to me about how stubborn you were. How you never listened to him, how you always ran headfirst into danger.” A small chuckle escapes him, but there’s no humor in it “And every damn time, I’d tell him—‘That’s not frustration, Izo. You’re in love with her.’”
You keep your eyes closed, your heart aching.
“He used to say to me…” Marco continues, his voice more serious now, “‘I don’t deserve her. Her father would never forgive me. I promised to protect her, and that’s all I can do.’” Marco pauses “But the truth is, he was terrified.”
You finally look at Marco, your voice barely a whisper “Terrified of what?”
“Terrified of breaking his promise to himself, to Oden,” Marco says, his tone soft “Terrified that if he told you how he really felt, it would dishonor that promise and the relationship he had with your family.” He swallows “But it’s also the reason he never told you—he didn’t want to make you think that you needed him to protect you. That’s why he always kept his distance in that sense.”
You stare at the grave, your throat tight. His words settle over you like a blanket of sorrow, suffocating and gentle at the same time.
You’d always known. But hearing it out loud makes it all too real.
And then Marco pulls something from his coat.
It’s a letter, crumpled, stained with blood, and clearly worn from being carried around.
You blink at it, confused.
“This was his,” Marco says quietly “Before the final battle… he wrote it. He wanted to give it to you if… if he didn’t make it out.”
Your fingers tremble as you take the letter, unfolding it carefully. You don’t know if you’re ready to read it, but you can’t stop yourself.
You need to know what he couldn’t say.
To the one I swore to protect,
I don’t know if I’ll survive this battle. If you’re reading this, then I didn’t. And I need you to know…
I never regretted a single moment of my life spent protecting you. From the first time I swore to keep you safe, I meant it. I meant it when I promised I would never let anything happen to you.
And maybe that’s why I never told you how I truly felt. I couldn’t. You deserved better. You deserved someone who didn’t carry the burden of a promise like that.
But I loved you. I loved you for so long, I didn’t even realize it until it felt too late.
And even now, as I write this, I wonder if you’ll ever understand. If you’ll ever forgive me for not being brave enough to admit it to you while I had the chance.
I know your heart is heavy. I know the weight of loss, of grief. I know you know this feeling way too well. But I want you to be happy, y/n. I want you to live for the people who love you and that can still be at your side, your samurai family, your siblings, Kiku, the rest of the Whitebeards, Marco, all of them. I want you to be surrounded by the ones who can make you smile, make you feel whole again.
Please, I beg of you… don’t let my absence keep you from living your life. You deserve to find your own happiness, in whatever form it takes. I’ll be watching over you, and I’ll be content knowing that you lived a life full of love, even if it wasn’t with me. I know Ace will never stop teasing me, I’m already annoyed but I’ll hug him for you. I’ll hug Oden and Toki for you. I’ll let them all know how much you love them, even though I’m sure they already know.
I’m sorry I couldn’t promise you to protect myself instead of protecting you, but you’re way too precious to me to put myself first. Maybe it’s even selfish of me, but I’d do it over 100 times.
But you have to promise me something, y/n.
Live. Live for yourself. Live for those who care about you. And, if you ever find someone who can love you like I do—don’t hesitate. Let them love you. You deserve to love and be loved.
Goodbye, my precious y/n. I know I’ll always be with you, even if you can’t see me.
I really hope we can meet again in our next life, maybe a life where we can finally be happy together.
I love you.
Izo.
You finish reading the letter, your heart aching with each word. The weight of it presses down on your chest, suffocating you.
Marco watches you quietly, letting you absorb the letter in silence. After a long moment, he speaks again, his voice soft but firm.
“He cared about you more than he ever let anyone know,” Marco says “He just wanted you to be happy. And if he had survived, I think he would have spent the rest of his life trying to show you how much you meant to him.”
You hold the letter tightly, pressing it to your chest as if you can feel Izo’s presence there with you, sobbing in your tears.
“I kinda knew about all of this,” you whisper “But at the same time I think I should’ve realized sooner, or do something about it.”
Marco gives you a small, understanding nod “He was a man of honor. His love was quiet, but it was constant. It never wavered, even when he tried to bury it.”
You sit in silence, letting your tears fall while your mind still spinning with everything you’ve just learned. But somewhere, deep down, you know Marco is right. Izo’s love was never something that needed to be spoken aloud for you to feel it. It was in every act of protection, every word he’d said in passing.
And even now, after everything, you know he’d want you to live for yourself, to find happiness.
You gently fold the letter, tucking it into your jacket.
“I’ll live for you, Izo,” you whisper “I’ll live for the both of us.”
The wind picks up, carrying the sound of your voice away.
And you promise yourself you’ll carry his memory with you, but you won’t let it hold you back. Not like it happened before. Not anymore.
"I love you Izo, let's meet in our next life."
