preface: sorry this is so much writing and im not going to grammar check it cuz aint no body got time for that.

The world of this au is like pokemon with different gyms you can fight through and beat, there's a big league of pro fighters, and there are schools for teaching you to be a better fighter.

One of the schools is called the Germa 66 Private Battle Academy, it goes from grades 1-12 and its where the Vinsmoke siblings all went too (at least until sanji broke off from the family at some point) and its run by Judge Vinsmoke, their father.

i am thinking that the Vinsmoke kids would still be genetically modified and Kuma would be a cyborg in this too.

design stuffs:

Ichiji: i tried to make him as punk as he would feasably get away with living under his father's rule. Big "combat" boots, fingerless gloves, black undershirt. He likes his style and would probably go all out if he didnt have to conform to his school uniform, thus i put a little heart on his boots.

Niji: i also made him like his style. The rings on his fingers, his nikes shoes, his big headphones. Like a gamer who thinks this is what fashion is. I think he would love listening to music too so i put his heart on his headphones.

Yonji: big stakly guy. Hes a lot more hands-on than his brothers so i put lots of emphasis on that area. i put his heart on his hand wraps because i think he would really love fighting. I think that Yonji is most like his father in that enjoyment, but i think Judge wouldnt like how casual Yonji's style is.

Reiju: y2k queen. I love this design on her so much im so bummed that she would have already graduated from the academy and i cant put her in a Hit Me Baby One More Time-esque uniform outfit, shed fucking KILL THAT SHITTT. Anyway though, reiju's heart is subtle yet in plain view, the locket around her neck. i dont think she would let anyone look at the contents but i do think that absolutly it would be her mother on one side and her brothers on the other. She wouldnt like people looking at it because that would mean someone could see that her dad isnt in there and she would get it a lot of trouble with her father about it.

Power ranger fits: i made them full on power rangers. its what they deserve. Since reiju has a butterfly motif in canon, i thought it would be fun to also give her brothers a bug motif of their own. ichiji is a wasp, niji is a dragonfly, yonji is a stag beetle. If sanji stuck around, hed probably be a lady bug lol. Also the masks they wear, the eye window part, it’s like tear tracks coming out but in a way that doesnt look like thats what they are. But it’s meant to show how judge forcing his children to be these people is causing them pain.

Doflamingo: i tried to make him a Nasty Nasty man. Like if a used car salesman made it big. Like if Macklemore was MackleMORE. i love the idea that he likes to tan himself, but he doesnt take any of his clothes off to do so, so he just has the absolute craziest tan lines ever. i put his hearts on the gold chain around his neck, he loves his wealth but not much else. i love the idea of him having two very expensive watches on each wrist. there may be more watches up his sleeve too. i also gave him fluffy dice around his neck, like he's one of the cars that he's selling.

Rosinante: i couldnt get away much longer without putting the heart man into the heart 'game'. i couldve went off more with the hearts of his design but i didnt want him to become nearly as flashy as his brother. i wanted him to be understated and fade into the background when doflamingo is around. he is dead in this au btw sorry :/ this is his design when he passed, but doffy's design is present day him. anyway, Rosi's hearts are everywhere, its in the outline of his big huggable fluffy coat, its on his hat thats pulling him down, it would be on his shirt too if it wasnt covered by his coat in this image.

Bonney: SHEEES SO CUUTEEEE AAAAAAAA i love her. I based her design off of Avril Lavigne with her iconic necktie/tanktop/baggy pants looks. i tried to make her outfit look like she could feasibly fit in it when she ages herself up, especially her big ol shoes. the heart in her design is in her neck tie. The stereotypical visage of a dad is a man in a tie who goes to work, and she loves her dad, so her heart is in her dad tie.

Kuma: I didn't change much of him from his design in canon, but since bonney would be more in his life in this version, i wanted to give him more visual indicators of her being there. like the height chart on his leg, or the fuzzy hat she crocheted for him (she also made her own hat for herself). Also, the pattern on his shirt is one that looks like a paw, but if you took off that outer layer, if the pattern continued, the design would be a sun, and i just think that was really clever ehe ehe.

Hancock: Basically i tried to make her the baddest bitch in the universe. My program crashed like 3 times making her which is so funny. Procreate couldnt handle her. I based her design off of Medusa. at first i had her snake be made out of marble, but it eventually wound up at Obsidian. She has no visible hearts on her design and thats because it would be the scar on her back, which she tries to hide. i like the idea that this very visibly revealing outfit would be perfectly tailored and reinforced to never move a single inch to let anyone see what theyre not supposed to. I dont know how i would justify her being able to turn people into stone in this AU, so im just not going to make a decision on whether or not she can do that.

ive been working on these designs off and on ever since i made the first post on this au and im real happy i can finally put more out.

I loved the designs for @where-does-the-heart-lie 's op fighter AU game (seriously Whery, you cooked haaard) and the theme of fighting for love really reminded me of the song "True Kinda Love" from the SU movie so of course I had to draw the strawhats hugging like that one scene at the start of the song. (Robin sang btw. She has such Garnet wibes)

Loved the shading on Brook's pants and the colours in his afro, that's such a vibe for him. Robin was literally gorgeous and perfect and Chopper with the reindeer spots is so precious. Usopp's fit is also extremely adorable even if here you can't see it well. The backrpund is just a heart. I couldn't think of anything else.

(Also remind me to never draw these many characters togheter in such a cramped space. I feel like I've gotten the anatomy all wrong)

Thanks for the prompt! I was sure I wouldn't have this considering most of my wips are for a prison show, but the AUs came in clutch!

(That said, it made me realise that I have a wip entitled "Green Green Grass" with no mention of grass... which I should rectify, somehow...)

This is for a rarepair from the TV show Oz! Miguel Alvarez/Chico Guerra:

Grass

Alvarez trips and topples awkwardly, unable to catch himself before he meets the asphalt. He’s a fighter, though, and he does manage to spring back quickly, launching himself at Guerra and pushing him back into a dry bit of grass along the street side. There is a familiarity to this for them; they roll over grit and dirt, a flurry of harsh smacks traded between them—no punches—until Guerra loses steam and, panting, slides off of Alvarez, flopping back onto the pavement beside him.

Sweat pours from his body, stoked on by the sun that beats down overhead. “Oh, mi vida, we are too fucking old to still be doing this shit,” he says.

“You love it,” Alvarez retorts.

I've got some exciting news to share today!

I've officially begun work on my new big project- a series of fics based in a late modern/futuristic setting AU, where the slayers are based out of a nightclub named "The Wisteria Lounge".

Each of the Hashira have a planned fic, and all will be intertwined with each other (think Otome game route style, as that was the inspiration. I am Otomesass after all 🤣). These will all be Y/N fics, with most (if not all) being Y/N×Hashira, though Im still up in the air about Mui, and possibly Genya.

While I don't have anything to post yet, enjoy all these random notes I wrote myself during development to give you an idea of where this is all going! There is a lot below the cut so be prepared lol.

"The Wisteria Lounge" (logo by me, still a wip. Cannot decided on a font lol)

Wisteria is set in a future where disaster has struck the modern world, making daylight all but nonexistent. As humanity learned to adapt, they had no idea that Demons would soon come to claim the upper echelons of society as government officials, idols, and CEOs. With murder on the rise, missing peoples reports skyrocketing, and whisperings of cannibals being passed around, an order of individuals seeks to find and eliminate the new plague on humanity.

Unlike in the normal Canon, each Hashira is in charge of a "team" of slayers, each specializing in different goals or techniques. So far these are-

Unit overview-

The slayers function in units, with each Hashira running a unit of their own. Not all units are active duty 24/7, and some are more highly specialized than others

•Shinobu- Insect Hashira, team Chō (butterfly)

Runs the clinic, takes care of injured slayers

Tasked with research of new or developing chemicals that can kill demons

Fighters focus on speed of strikes rather than power, utilizing pharmaceuticals in combat.

•Gyomei- Stone Hashira, Team Ganban (bedrock)

Runs security for the bar and other slayer controlled locations.

Specializing in securing locations, getting civilians out unharmed, and protecting captives during Kizuki raids.

Exceptional strength and force in combat makes them valuable when overtaking enemy locations.

•Tengen- Sound Hashira, Team Uwasa (rumor)

Mostly recon, and explosives experts

In charge of finding leads on demon locations/whereabouts

His team is good at charming info out of people, equally specialized in torturing info out of demons.

•Giyuu- Water Hashira, Team Suiko (Torrent)

Tech savvy, excellent at digital tracking. Investigations experts, tracking irl as well.

On location/job hacking, information recovery, and data collecting.

Team focuses on high perception and deductive reasoning skills.

•Sanemi- Wind Hashira, Team Tenkū (air)

Muscle muscle muscle. Overwhelming force that would burn itself out rather than back down.

Specializing in destroying everything and leaving no traces behind, including buildings and locations.

The "take no prisoners" team. Highly skilled in hand to hand and all are weapons experts. Basically black ops.

•Mitsuri- Love Hashira, Team Gōka (refined)

Undercover experts, highly skilled with changing appearance/disguise

Exceptional in hand to hand combat, especially evasive actions

Exceptional infiltration tactics, combo of tech savvy and charismatic

•Obanai- Serpent Hashira, Team Sotto (Quiet)

Single cell assassination team, most individuals work on their own.

Often accompany Team Gōka and team Uwasa on missions.

Highly prized one on one combatants. They specialize in taking out targets quickly, often immobilizing them with poisons that team Chō provides.

•Muichiro- Mist Hashira, Team Kōrin (nimbus)

Muscle, though much more refined than team Tenkū.

Specializes in tactics that confuse enemies and create battlefield chaos.

Fond of wide spread smokescreen, gasses, and demoralization tactics.

•Kyojuro- Flame Hashira, Team Rekka (wildfire)

More muscle, very powerful fighters with unwavering dedication

Highly skilled Frontline fighters, excellent tacticians, problem solvers. Good at reading opponents and predicting their moves.

Highly versatile. Often used in conjunction with other teams like Tenkū and Ganban, but can fit in just about anywhere.

Each character will get their own story, exploring how they handle the trappings of their backgrounds and what tolls being a savior to humanity take. During the day, each of the Hashira have jobs they hold to appear 'normal' while their evening duties range from official slayer work, to helping keep the Wisteria Lounge up and running as a profitable front for their true business.

Each fic will have a different sub plot, with all coming together to weave in and out of each other to keep the stories cohesive. This is the second big project I've worked on like this, with the first being my Blind Kings project (over on my main).

Some very general/brief fic outlines for each character so far-

Y/N is brought on as a specialist (speciality will change from fic route to route) to aid in the defeat and capture of demons (which demon will depend on which route). In true otome fashion, the first couple chapters will introduce all the characters, the exposition, overarching plot, and MC's introduction to the main cast.

-10-15 chapters a piece, like an otome, with the final chapters being a "resolution". 

-Not all routes will end with the end of Muzan. Most routes will be 1-2 demon specific. 

-Some events will carry from route to route 

-1st "story" will be a 2 chapter introduction, as a standalone. Then readers go to whatever "route" they want. 

Route overviews-

Gyomei- Kaigaku, who Gyomei learns was behind his false imprisonment, has abandoned the slayers and joined the demons. Under the protection of Kokushibo, Kaigaku is untouchable. Gyomei must fight to restore what he once thought lost- his personhood.

Shinobu- Hunting down her sister's killer, Shinobu learns that Douma runs a "church" that operates as a battered women's shelter. She and her protégé manage to infiltrate the cult to take their revenge on the demon.

Kyojuro- After suffering a near fatal attack by Akaza, Kyojuro seeks to put Akaza out of his misery for good after his recovery, but first must confront his broken father and learn the missing artes he needs to do so.

Giyuu- The demon responsible for killing his best friend resurfaces after years of hiding and takes his older sister hostage. Giyuu must track them down in time to save her before the Demon can harm her.

Sanemi- After killing his own father to protect his siblings and mother, Sanemi served time in juvie. Upon his release, he finds out that his mother and all but 1 of his siblings were killed in his absence and seeks vengeance on the Demon who killed them- Muzan himself.

Muichiro- after mysterious dreams "given" to him by his dead brother, Mui finds out he is related to Kokushibo and seeks to put an end to his relative's reign of terror.

Obanai- once thought dead, the snake demon that slaughtered his family reappears, hoping to finish off his bloodline once and for all. It's a race to see who can kill whom first, as Obanai struggles with the PTSD of his past and his scars.

Mitsuri- scorned by society for being "too strong and independent", Mitsuri hopes to prove herself by infiltrating Muzan's ranks and killing Hantengu, a Demon masquerading as a corrupt judge that is continually evading her grasp.

Tengen- seemingly "cursed" to be alone, Tengen is the target of a very persistent pair of demons who keep killing his loved ones. After his 3rd girlfriend's death, he sets out to put the two six feet under for good.

Genya- (this one is another that is up in the air) fresh out of college and ready to put his skills to the test by taking out the very same demon his brother is hunting. Undeterred by Sanemi's threats, Genya uses his superior deductive reasoning and newfound powers to hunt the Demon king himself.

Now that you've made it through the whole entire thing, let me thank you personally! That's a lot of rambling and half baked ideas you just waded in, and I commend your tenacity! At this time I have no exact eta on when chapters will start going up, but I can say that we'll be starting with Gyomei because I love him and he deserves the world! Any and all critique or questions are welcomed, so please lmk if you've got any!

The lil addition abt Sunday’s recommendation to bring blade to our side makes me think dhil is very very sussy. Or blade does love y/n? Maybe? 🙂‍↔️😂. You musttt give Jing yuan a redemption arc cuz he’s bitching so hard rn 💀. Like I wanna fight him🤺🤺🤺. Literally square up motherfker. 😭😭. I’m so gonna die if I ever isekai into this fic. I do think jy and dhil did beat Sunday up together so…maybe that’s why he recommended blade? To me, I don’t think blade is THAT loyal to Jing yuan as they say. I bet jy gonna get back stabbed. I would love to see Jing yuan and y/n aligning together for the same goal type of trope, not rlly enemies to lovers kinda way but ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’ kinda way.

Till this point, I love Sunday cuz ehe. Who can resist chicken wing boy? I wonder what the keys are for cuz literally I have no fkn clue. Rn I wanna bully Jing yuan and bite his phat cheeks (no fat shaming). The fact that y/n’s dad has the other half of the key is even more sus. I would love to see a chapter where y/n and her father have a lil family reunion. R u thinking of adding any siblings or something of the sort? I would love a supportive brother who got ur backkkk. Then again that could be boothil. I’m not sure if I would take boothill’s deal to run with him since I’m a fighter not a runner. But literally, I love the way Sunday is so fkn op. Not only rewinding time but changing it too??? How tf did Jing yuan even beat him? Maybe the keys have smth to do with his method of beating Sunday.

Perhaps Yuanie has his own powers aside from LL? Since there’s a time discrepancy, it could be that yuan uses magic to make himself look young like tsunade from Naruto? I also wanna put Sunday into suspicion cuz who tf would be so willing to help a ‘random’ gurl out. He either has some deeeeep ulterior motives but he seems bery gentle. Hehe

I wonder where your inspiration came for the fic, is it from a manhwa or a light novel? Cuz I see a lot of plot archetypes similar to your au in manhwa. Guh I love reading y'all's snippets <3 <3 <3 Sharing the only real WIP I currently have, which is a gratuitous, cracky gladiator AU that I'm currently calling Io Saturnalia bc it's a holiday fic just....... a very old holiday. I'm v excited for it!!

“You don’t have to love men to understand that Alexander is one fine specimen,” Aurelia prods Henry in the side with her elbow, sucking her teeth as the two men face off in the center of the colosseum and hold up their weapons. Trained as a thracian, Alexander was outfitted with a round shield and curved blade, and a broad helmet sat upon his head. The important thing is: they’re the last fight of today’s matches. Alexander has worked hard to rise up, gain favor and earn the best fights of the day. He’s a worthy opponent, and Henry hears their master say so often enough. Whenever gladiators are needed, Alexander’s name is always thrown into the ring, and he frequently visits the arena during the year. The emperor acknowledges both of the fighters and then they’re off, sparring with weapons, the clashing metal ringing in Henry’s ears as he sits on the edge of the bench, knuckles white where he grips the wood. Aurelia has taken on a similar position, and one hand flutters at her chest, like it grieves her to watch men fighting in such a manner despite being around it every day at the Ludus Magnus. Alexander’s body comes back to him in flashes as Henry watches the fight. The bunching and stretching of his muscles as he parries and strikes send memories of passion skittering through Henry’s mind, and he remembers how those muscles worked similarly but with very different intent last night. Funny, how fighting and sex are both lithe dances of muscle and power,  sometimes even with similar intent. Henry feels a flush coloring his cheeks, and he sits back, forces himself to breathe deeply and look away for a moment, at anything but Alexander as he defends his ground and pushes the other man further back from the center of the arena. They’ve been meeting clandestinely for something close to two months now, meeting in the shadows, when the moon high up in her sky is their only witness during the deep night. They have a grove they go to, a spot outside of the Ludus Magnus walls, away from the harsh realities of their everyday lives and a place where they could be together in a way that would be forbidden during the daylight.

Hey, I hadn't seen your Oc Iggy (?) before today, can I ask 2 and 30 for the ask game (I think I've got those numbers right, about powers and motivation?)

Ooh thank you so much for asking!

I have to confess they aren't really my oc ^^' (though the design is all me since they don't have any official pictures)

They're a secondary character from the book "Sonic the Hedgehog and the Silicon Warriors". But I have changed them so much for my au so it's almost like having an oc (though I try to keep as many aspects of their characterization from the book as a can, the universe of the book is so different from the modern games so a lot of stuff gets changed)

Their full name is Ichneumon, but they go by Iggy. In the book they're a temporary sidekick to Sonic. (Tails gets trapped in cyberspace).

(I'll still answer because when else am I gonna get a chance to talk about them! I'm gonna answer based on my au rather than the book though. I'll specify what things are based on the book)

2. Powers/Abilities?

(In the book, they can run pretty fast. It impresses Sonic (!), but they still can't keep up with Sonic and Tails when they're going full speed. They're also a computer programmer (it took me forever to get the joke, they're a mouse that does computers – a computer mouse!). Since the book deals with cyberspace and stuff, they needed a character that would have some skills in that area)

I think most of Sonic's friends have some enhanced physical abilities, so they're probably slightly faster than an average person, but not a "speed" type, so to speak.

Programming... ok. They're basically your average hollywood-esque "*hacker voice*: I'm in" type of programmer. Anything you imagine a character of that archetype could do, they probably can. (I decided not to be shy and make them op in their main area of specialization)

(Also I guess they're a child genius too? If you count it as a "power". Though of course they're more specialized than Tails who while has specific interests dabbles a little bit in everything)

(Eventually they also become an expert on the Chaos Emeralds. It's mostly because of their cyberspace research and its connection to the Ancients and then the Ancients' connection to the Chaos Emeralds. Not really for the Emeralds' own sake. They also can't really use Chaos control or anything like that)

They're not a fighter by any means, but I didn't want them to be completely defenseless so eventually they become a pretty proficient user of a boomering (yeah, from Sky Patrol, I thought it would be a cute thing to bring back)

They're also really good at rollerblading.

30. What is their main goal/motive?

I don't really have anything deep, but I guess— Their whole life they felt kind of small and insignificant (They're literally a mouse but it's also kind of a metaphor). They're from some backwater island where nothing happens, they're a middle kid with a bunch of siblings, etc. So they want to become metaphorically "bigger", really put their talents to use and try to make a difference.

Their external goal is the cyberspace research, (re)creating a working cyberspace that could be used for the benefit of the public. (Even though the book they originate from is centered around cyberspace, they don't really have an interest in it, but I thought it would be a nice reference and a cool unique thing for a character to be into) This is basically their life project. (I don't think it's something you can ever be done with, there's always things to improve). (Frontiers is really playing into my hand here, it's giving me a good way to introduce them to the cast)

What I'm missing is some sort of "inciting incident" so to speak, something that would lead them to be dissatisfied with their "small" life and something that would get them interested in cyberspace. Preferably one incident for both of those things. But I'm working on it!

Okay but imagine: AU where Scott Pilgrim and Cyberpunk are in the same universe with Judy dating V (Scott and Ramona's greatx7 granddaughter) as she faces off against her seven evil ex girlfriends consisting of Joanne Koch, Angelica Whelan, Alena Xenakis, Song So Mi, Rita Wheeler, Michiko Arasaka and Hanako Arasaka. Like imagine Judy talking about it to Evelyn then So Mi just bursts through the bar on a Chimera saying "MS. ALVAREZ!"

Hang on: FemV x Hanako? Rosalind will hear about this, and she'll be bringing a Carrier Strike Group with her!

On a serious note: Judy Alvarez vs Night City is an intriguing concept, but one that I need to smack with my patented AggravatedDurian Bullshit (patent pending) Fanfiction technology. I only use this when there's a silly little idea I want to explore (like Adam Santa). I say this because I have a similar idea in my Chorus AU but I want to keep these ideas separate.

One thing. I'd imagine Judy's talking to Panam or someone who would be alive around the time V is dating Judy.

Joanne Koch would go down easy. She's a corpo snake who will get others to fight for her. Imagine having to play a shooter game where the boss is invincible while there are mooks on the battlefield. Or, she uses that Biotechnica corpo science to become the cyber-she-hulk and gives our protagonist a run for her money.

Keeping with the gamey vibe of Scott Pilgrim, Songbird is capable of hacking reality to an extent. She can mod in abilities, or backup in fights, such as spawning in a Cerberus to distract Judy. I'm talking spawning in bullshit like Valgus gunships and AVs full of Black Ops troops.

Alex is dangerous in and of herself, and would likely use her FIA training and technology to run rings around our favourite Mox.

Michiko is the founder of Danger Gal. She's a respectable threat.

Hanako's not really a fighter. She'll be the easiest opponent in my opinion, she'll probably get Oda to fight for her.

Angelica is one of the scariest, because she could probably talk V into loving her again. She leads the Animals because of her sheer charisma, meaning she has fuckin' magic speech skills if she can keep them in line.

I have one request, and that is that we replace one of these characters with Rosalind Myers. Probably Joanne Koch. Myers is strong enough to knock V on her arse, is a retired Marine and fought a battle for survival across Dogtown in high heels.

ness has a collection of old nintendo consoles passed down by his dad. kid grew up playing everything from classic NES to the switch. he likes kirby and starfox especially. he n' jeff used to play every co-op game in his arsenal, every weekend, when they were like 14.

jeff likes metroid and starcraft. he's been emulating games on pc since he was like 5. most notably though, he's got an esteemed resume of competitive pokemon accolades. dude who plays pokemon showdown in class every day and still somehow gets straight A's.

claus will eagerly play anything he can manage with one arm. and some things he really can't. he streams fortnite. his favorite game is fallout 2. there's a running bit about jeff teaching him competitive pokemon. they've got a funny little mentor-student thing going on. except instead of somethin' cool like robotics or rocket science, it's just jeff teaching claus how to optimize his dragapult's EV spread.

the twins grew up with a couple of GBAs they got used from a yard sale - lucas had pokemon leaf green, claus had fire red. though lucas isn't very into video games generally, he's sentimental about the little green gba cart that helped him through a few of his roughest years. but his favorite game is animal crossing for gamecube, which kuma shared with him.

kumatora's beat-to-shit purple gamecube is near and dear to her. raised on a steady diet of mario sunshine and sonic adventure 2. still has her childhood animal crossing town (named "Castle") on an ancient crusty memory card. she's also kinda good at street fighter. and can barely run tf2 on her horrible garbage laptop.

You know, I can almost understand the decision to make Hopes "unsatisfactory" in order to not step on 3H's toes (I say almost because the choice to make a fanservice game unsatisfactory for the fans is um... a choice that exists), but then you look at SB and like. Realize that nothing really unsatisfactory happens to Edel/gard?

Like she gets basically everything she's ever wanted in SB. The Kingdom is on the ropes, the Alliance either falls upon Claude's death or is flat out helping her get what she wants, all of her friends live (Randolph is a mook not a friend lmao), and she doesn't even have to dirty her hands trying to kill Rhea and Thales because they kill each other for her. You can even argue that on GW she also gets pretty much everything she's ever wanted, because Clyde gift-wraps and hand delivers her Fodlan by the end of the route. AG's the only route she ever faces struggles (without someone bailing her out of trouble that is COUGHclydeCOUGH) which is a bit different than what the other two lords got.

Makes Hopes look less like an AU where the lords have to make do without Byleth and more like "what if Edel.gard was allowed to get away with starting an imperialist war" :/

I think the most unsatisfactory thing that happens with EdeIgard is more that she can't defeat the Kingdom or Alliance, thus can't conquer Fodlan. Technically she doesn't defeat anyone in this game, because Thales and Rhea took each other out. Even with the help of the Alliance they couldn't really take out the Kingdom, and its top two most important people are still standing (Rodrigue died in SB but Felix didn't, and Felix was the current Duke so they didn't actually do as much as damage to Fraldarius as they did in Houses when he dies in the third to last chapter in CF).

As far as her not having anything bad happen to her, I guess you could argue it's really only Claude who gets a bad ending. If EdeIgard ended her war post the final playable battle there would definitely still be huge issues in Fodlan's political landscape and it would still be a mess with trust in each territory, but she kiiind of got something she wanted I suppose, i.e. Thales and Rhea dying.

Dimitri has a pretty happy ending and is really the happiest ending if you have Rodrigue alive, because the truth of Duscur was concluded and everyone in Fodlan was allied, and all their enemies defeated (save EdeIgard who was just in no state to fight anyway). Chances are pretty good that AG Claude wouldn't have bothered fighting Rhea because there was no need for violence with the war over, and he was definitely much more in a negotiating mood in AG.

For Shez, even though Arval disappears, Shez did get a pretty good ending in all the routes, and if Byleth survived then Byleth fans get a pretty good ending overall too. The mercs are no longer solitary fighters, have friends, and helped their new leader reach their goals in Fodlan (though yeah, Claude's goals are kinda ??? ??? ??? very confusing and don't make sense based on what he says/does).

Teeeechnically Dimitri did bail EdeIgard out of trouble when Thales showed up and attacked her, but you could argue he had pretty legitimate reasons for that. Duscur is a personal thing for her, yeah, but it affected and related to a lot of people, as well as his army's current situation (i.e. having Duscur as allies helping his army, and clearing their name is a huge goal for him as king).

I do agree EdeIgard didn't face repercussions though, so while she didn't get everything she wanted (reminder she could never get past Arianrhod in any route. In AG that's when she got attacked by Thales, in GW that's when she needed the Alliance to save her neck, and in SB wah wah, I am sticking to my joke that Miklan didn't show up in that route bc he was too OP to be defeated in the other routes so they had to stay consistent and thus couldn't show him in SB or you could simply never win and move on in the story lel), she did get some of it and was generally happier according to the devs.

I don't really count AG as a "repercussion" for her for the war itself either. That was more because she betrayed Thales and he retaliated accordingly. If it was war based, I'd say something like maybe she survives but loses her position as emperor or something. AG did a good job showing what would happen to her if she betrayed Thales (at least so outright).

Generally I think it was largely unsatisfactory for SB because it was just a retelling of CF, except that I think they were trying to cater more to Dimitri and Felix fans because they're both so popular, hence why they both survived. Claude can die in CF or SB, so that just stayed the same, even if the lead up to it was a lot different. A lot of people are also annoyed at SB for having none of the characters really debate EdeIgard on her goals.

For me personally, it was the altering of characterizations that made SB annoying rather than simply unsatisfactory as a story. Them changing Ferdinand's whole character and relationship with her was a huge negative point for me. Like, while I could argue Dorothea is just CF Dorothea (versus AM/VW Dorothea), I can't argue that Ferdinand is anything similar to his Houses counterpart. Pretty much all the characters in SB that you're allied with are adoring of EdeIgard and never call her out (re: Ferdinand especially).

Honestly, I find Hopes to be a mixed bad for how they handled her because on one hand, they did actually have Dimitri remain the same with calling her out and being on the reasonable side of their arguments/fights, so the game did still say "what she's doing is unjust and there's someone to tell her as much".

On the other hand, this game definitely caters more to her in the sense of her happiness and wellbeing, as well as the overload of "she's the best thing ever" to her allies and people being unreasonably willing to love her, respect her or in Claude's case, save her life when reasonable mister Lorenz outright said the plot we should've gotten.

I do agree for sure though that she gets away with everything in SB and GW. I know they did it for her popularity, but I definitely don't like the way IS focuses more on her popularity than a coherent story. It wasn't as messy as GW, but it was just... kinda... dull. It just wasn't anything new.

The only reason she does in AG at least is because Thales already did his damage, so by then for Dimitri there was just no point in continuing anything because she was effectively out of the picture. I guess that's why AG's ending doesn't bother me as much as GW's, because it does feel like an at least complete story with a proper ending. Loose ends were tied and I think it was a good way to incorporate the whole Empire versus Kingdom versus TWS, because the ending still had a piece of TWS' effect on everything even with them gone. It felt like a three way fight with a three way result, if that makes sense. When you have a battle like that, it makes sense that there's an outcome caused by all involved groups.

alright option one is very enticing and your evidence does compel me, OP, but i voted option two: bronte as cav, fintan as necro, and I'mma be entirely honest, I just liked the idea of the wilder one being the one in charge and the more reserved one being the bodyguard. So! Allow me to elaborate. And elaborate I shall, because I don't know how to summarize myself after ten pm.

(disclaimer, i have been procrastinating a reread of the KOTLC series so i am going off of what I remember from canon and whatever fanon has managed to seep into my head. My TLT reread was more recent but my memory isn't perfect.)

Let's set the stage: Fintan is smart, but unrestrained. He knows he's smart and powerful, right? Bronte is younger, more reserved, more recalcitrant. He could be deadly, but he holds back his ability. Now, OP, you're totally right with saying that Fintan's more of the fighter. But if you're familiar with the popular Nova AU for The Locked Tomb? As far as I know, it's canon-supported that Harrow in the Nova AU relies on becoming fast and fatal when she fights. She doesn't have the power or the muscle to fight like a standard cav, so she relies on dirty tricks, careful application of physics, and the Ninth way of striking less to win a duel and more to win a battle permanently. Presumably, Gideon in the Nova AU would have her same attitude and hit-it-till-it-goes-down fighting style as canon, though with necromancy. Now, take all that and apply it to Fintan and Bronte!

Bronte is careful and slow to fight unless his necromancer needs him to prove a point. But when he does fight, he's quick and ruthless when he fights. He doesn't fight like a typical cavalier, he fights like an anatomist. He doesn't care about the socio-political game of a duel, he tries to end a fight as quickly as he can, and he won't strike first. His presence is expected so he is at Fintan's back for appearances. He's dark, broody, quiet, only speaks up if Fintan asks his advice or if Fintan is close to overstepping somewhere.

Fintan is powerful, a prodigy, and he doesn't believe he needs a cavalier to actually protect him, because he's the best necromancer of his generation. (And maybe he's from a disliked House.) His cavalier is there for the political expectation, but he and Bronte have the understanding that Fintan can protect himself (I'm picturing a dynamic rather like Harrow with Ortus as her cav; she has no need for a cavalier). Fintan holds all the power and he knows it. He isn't afraid to utilize his strength, and he knows he's the superior one here.

Make sense?

With all that said, I think either setup is very good for a necro-cav Fintante dynamic. However, I like the idea of the necromancer being the wilder one and the cav being the one to keep them back, and also the possibility of Fintan going through with the Lyctoral Megatheorum and having blood on his hands, same as canon. He would have incredible power at his hands but the people who understand how he got it would judge him. Because of his hubris, he'd be ancient and awesome, but at what cost, again?

Legend Heroes and their titles - what does each one of them mean?

So, when i started this AU thing back in 2012... I gave titles and codenames for each protag. I've revised some of those, so let's talk about them a little more:

Each title has a reference to their series, by element or mechanic.

Each codename has a reference to something part of their character arc or design.

Taichi:

→ "Winged Courage" is a reference to his Adventure character song, which is suspected to be a reference from V-Tamer. "Sun" is a reference to the Crest of Courage, which symbol is a stylized sun.

Daisuke:

→ "Golden Heart" and "Heart" is a reference to the Jogress Evolution, and the color "gold" in it is a reference to the Digimental of Miracles, which is also summoned every time Daisuke and co. need a miracle to happen.

Takato:

→ "Gallant Dreamer" is a reference to Tamers' OP (The Biggest Dreamer) and Dukemon's dub name. "Knight" is a reference to Dukemon as well, and the chivalry code Dukemon has as well.

Takuya:

→ "Fiery Warrior" and "Warrior" are references to the Legendary Spirits of Fire, as well as Takuya's element too.

Masaru:

→ "Banchou Savior" is a reference to an episode in Savers where Masaru learns more about his father being a savior for the digimon, and how he is seen as one until things went south. Banchou and its codename, "Fighter", are references of him being self-entitled as one.

Taiki:

→ "Red General" is a reference to Taiki's XrosLoader color and his position as the general of the Xros Heart army. "King" is a reference to Shoutmon's title as "Digimon King", as well as reference to Taiki being the one who collected all of the Code Crowns previously.

Tagiru:

→ "Crimson Hunter" is a reference to his XrosLoader's color and Tagiru's role as a Digimon Hunter. "Superstar" is a reference to his ambition, his desire to become famous and be recognized by others.

NOTES:

"How about Haru, Reboot!Taichi and Hiro?"

Since this AU existed before those new series, i never thought of a title for them. Maybe later. You can suggest titles and codenames for them too.

random OP AU headcanon that just flashed in my brain that i had to share with you. Law plays games like Call of Duty, Street Fighter, and Doom with Luffy and Kidd online, but when he's offline, he plays Animal crossing, Kirby games and Sonic Adventure 2 (relates with shadow) but will never ever admit it to anyone. (debating if cora embarrasses Law one day by buying him an animal crossing plush and giving him in front of luffy and kidd)
