Remounted my amesiella Philipenensis today! It was really unhappy and too dry even in the amazing orchid-specific greenhouse I got it from recently so even though it’s really not great to remount them in the winter, the root tips were already dark and withered from dehydration and definitely not improving. Plus, it wasn’t at all grabbing onto the wood it was currently on and they gave it like zero spaghnum moss to sit on, rude, so there’s minimal stress at least remounting to a smaller cuter piece of cork to stick it in a little humidity trapping (but hopefully still aerated enough) hanging terrarium.

So small!! It’s a mini species but not this mini, it’s probably only a year or two old and likely several years out from blooming size.

Much better! Much more spaghnum moss to keep her feet nice and moist. These guys need 70% humidity and to never fully dry out. One source I saw said that if it isn’t consistently wet enough to grow moss on it, it’s not wet enough. Maybe I should stick some live moss in there 👀
