rewatched phil's video this morning again and the first story got me thinking again about how teenage me was convinced that everyone in the lgbtq community believed that dating people who are still (partially or not) closeted was a bad thing and if you're closeted you will need to out yourself for the relationship. which filled me with insane amounts of dread at times, obviously.

and now phil's coming out in college mention? idk i love them both so much. i love that phil did that for him. they are both so devoted to each other ("that's the plan") and are ready to give into each other and support each other ugh no that's it im getting genuinely emotional over them

ive been thinking lately about kon and the diaspora agonies of trying to learn your family's native language. but like, with kryptonian, in postcrisis continuity jor-el prepared some kryptonian tech to let clark insta-download kryptonian into his brain because he knew clark wouldn't have access to learning resources, plus the eradicator also gave clark some brain downloads, etc, so i figure that's just available to any kryptonian at the fortress of solitude. (whether it'd work for a human is another question - it might just take some mental prep like what lois did for learning torquasm-rao in that one arc, but that's another post entirely.)

anyways, what that means for kon is that i think he is able to insta-download the ability to understand spoken kryptonian/read written kryptonian, but until he gets the muscle memory down via practice, his kryptonian handwriting will be atrocious and he will have a very notable american accent when he speaks. and that'd be fine for the most part - sure, kara has a giggle about it, but she points out that clark's also got an accent! his is just less noticable because he's had several years worth of practice more than kon.

but. specifically. he doesn't have much time to unpack any self-consciousness about it, because when he goes to new krypton, he Knows they are all judging him for it. see? he's not a real kryptonian, just a clone. he sticks out like a sore thumb. what was kal-el thinking, giving him the name kon-el? he doesn't even speak properly. and he can hear himself speaking with an accent but he can't just stop having one. and it's so, so frustrating and embarrassing for him.

and then everyone on new krypton dies. and he will never actually get the chance to fit in or change any of their minds or unionize the labor guild and advocate for clone rights on krypton. the one time he got to actually interact with his family's culture, his heritage, and they overwhelmingly supported zod, a man who didn't even see him as a person at all.

it's a strange, hollow sort of grief. and he still has an american accent.

Oof. Not to bring down the mood, but just last night. My sweet husband Caleb is doing his pediatric residency, and he lost a kid yesterday who he was really fond of. Of course, he had to hold himself together during his shift, but he was pretty torn up about it. I'm glad I could be there for him when he got home. I don't know how he manages to do what he does every day, but I am so proud of him.

You know how you forget parts of therapy and they come back later? It's like putting together a puzzle with lost pieces, then a few days later you find a few of those missing pieces in your couch cushions or something.

Anyway, I did remember that my therapist said smth abt wanting to talk a little abt parts stuff next week. She mentioned that I said I only really have communication with H, which is partially true. Sometimes I have communication with S also. I'm aware of a part A but I haven't been able to communicate with them for a long time. There might be another part I use to have communication with but that part might also be S, which is ultra confusing.

Add onto that that my previous interactions with H and A before I was diagnosed I was reading as something entirely different, and treating them thusly. H I believed to be a higher power, and A fronting was the reason we were recklessly dx'd with a psychotic disorder.

Frankly that diagnosis is what makes a lot of things confusing. I don't know if that label is still applicable to me, I'm pretty sure it can be comorbid, but whenever I think of smth that could be parts related, my mind goes to that, especially if it's smth drastic, which I feel would stick out most/I'd be more aware of, yanno?

Anyway, this post was initially going to be asking for advice, but I guess I shouldn't. I'll just wait until next week and be honest as I can be. It's just. Weird and hard.

Sometimes I wish I could be like those folks with nice neat carrds with all their parts all organized. But I also know that I'm very early in therapy/treatment, and that's a high bar to set for myself, who's just starting out. Eyes on my own paper.

Okay so, funny story about that, I unironically figured out that I was aro thanks to techno. Oh....... another thing is that weirdly the dsmp fandom is just the only one that I've ever seen actual aspec rep IN the fandom content itself

I think the one thing I do like in the idea of romance is the loyalty and commitment attached to it which is how I began wanting a queer platonic relationship. That type of love that feels like home but without the romantic expectation and just creating your own definition of love with your partner is the dream for me :]

So many things you have absolutely no idea. I've never really understood the whole physical longing thing and having someone take up all of your thoughts and decisions to a worrying degree. I've never got wanting to act in an idealized way so that your crush might like you cause what's the point? YES, LIKE YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Loz wise I strongly believe oot link and hyrule warriors link to be on the aro spectrum!! ^-^ I mean, oot link literally ignored a whole ass marriage proposal so hard that I half believe the fact Ruto was interested didn't even REGISTER. hw link is so extremely funny to me cause the IDEA of him being aro and being chased by an evil sorceress is the embodiment of my poor aro meow meow. He didn't ask for this, he didn't want it, he doesn't even understand what's the big deal about romance WHY is she destroying REALITY FOR IT!!!

53. What is the best part about being aro?

The relief of knowing that I don't have to force myself to find or force myself to pretend that I feel romantic love. The relief that I can be my genuine self and be happy in the different forms of love that bring me happiness instead of what society expects of me. The fact that I have a name to explain what I've been experiencing my entire life and the fact that people reflect my thoughts have brought me more comfort than you can imagine. It's the relief of knowing I don't have to act or sell myself for a nonexistent partner and instead pursue the queer love that I've always dreamed of. It's the fascination of exploring the very foundation of love and how I interpret it by having a complete absence of romantic love but so much love for other things. For me being aro is comfort, acceptance, and living with the fact that you are not lesser for not experiencing something that a large amount of people, it's finding happiness in that absence as it allows you to instead fill that space with what you choose to love. It's carving out a little space for that queer love whenever it arrives and it fits perfectly within all the other things you've given love to, so much so that you never even think of how you may be different or may never experience something that everyone else cause you're so incredibly happy with what you have! That you could never think or want anything else, that's what being aro is for me and I've been much happier with my identity ever since I realized that ^-^

1) Have you had a good day so far?

Eh...It’s been...okay I guess? I very rarely have good days lately, tbh. My mood swings have been. Particularly bad lmao. But I have good hours? I did have one of those today, and right at this exact point i’m doing okay.

2) What’s something you wish you could tell your younger self?

So many things, lmao. Shit. Uh. It’s okay if people don’t love you, and to focus more on trying to love yourself rather than pinning your entire existence on how many people like you and how much. That you’re going to let people down, and that’s okay, messing up doesn’t make you unworthy of living, even if it’s a really bad screw-up. 

3) If you could share one song with someone for them to understand you, what would it be?

oooooh. hm. I mean i have. so many songs i relate to, but ONE? Be Calm by Fun., maybe? Like that song is. just. I walk that song every day. That whole album was a really definitive one for me, tbh.

HUH. I mean probably but like, I have such weird tastes in music I feel like anything I like wouldn’t ...really surprise people at this point lmao?

For every day I have a pair of what is essentially a cross between hiking boots and sneakers. I like them because they have pull laces so i can slip them on and just loop them up rather than having to tie them lmao.

Uh. Hm. Honestly oof. I mean I’m assuming not in a ‘you get a do-over’ way, as well? Like, a good day? Hm. Ooooh, one of the days from my trip along the west coast. That was a really really great two weeks chock full of adventures and gorgeous sights.

Hm. I don’t know that I have one? Like I guess I enjoy the vibe of the 80s, and the general chaoticness of the Victorians but I wouldn’t wanna live there, ya feel me.

13) Common misunderstanding people seem to have about you?

I’m sure a bunch. I guess the biggest one is probably that people think I’m capable of producing serotonin and that is a bald faced lie at this point - I haven’t felt joy that wasn’t the by-product of mania since I was 7 lmao.

YouTube celebrities or normal celebrities? I don’t care much for celebrities outside of the entertainment they provide, however, I infinitely care more about YouTubers and their personalities.  If you could choose to live anywhere, where would it be? Small house in a small town. I’m fine with living in Germany, but if we leave politics out as a factor and go soley for scenery, I’d be find with any of the Northern European countries. Disney or Dreamworks? I don’t like any of the modern Disney movies (mainly cause I hate the animation style they chose to go for) and Dreamworks has masterpieces like Shrek, A Bug’s Life and yes, even chaotic-evils like the Bee Movie! Favorite childhood TV show? Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2, Kim Possible The movie you’re looking forward to in 2020? None. I don’t even know what movies are coming out and also don’t care. Favorite book you read in 2019? I didn’t read one. Marvel or DC? Neither If you chose Marvel, favorite member of the X-Men? - Night or day? Night! I hate being awake when it’s light out. Favorite Pokémon? P S Y D U C K Top 5 bands/artists? Mando Diao, Robbie Williams, Peter Doherty, Arctic Monkeys (I can’t settle for a 5th but Jeremy Jordan is my favourite Broadway singer, so he’s my number 5) Top 10 books? Please don’t ask me about books lol  Top 4 movies? Oof, I don’t watch a lot of movies. I generally like indie movies about serious topics. But movies I can always rewatch are Shrek, Zero Day, (T)raumschiff Surprise, Spongebob Movie  US or Europe? Both have their good and bad sides. European history is more interesting to me and there are tons of different cultures, so comparing a continent of countries to one gigantic country might not be the fairest of comparissons to be honest - which is why I’m, again, leaving out politics. Not all European countries are on the same level when it comes to that. What I do prefer about the US though, is that it has landscapes of all kinds all in one country. Even if they’re far apart, it’s more convenient than travelling to see them over here. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t want to trade being German, though.  Tumblr or Twitter? Both are hell holes, but Tumblr.  Favorite vacation destination?
