Buuut. do you remember the Official Tumblr for [Previous Fandom] and how everyone in the fandom was absolutely in love with him bc he was funny and interacted with our posts? Well he got fired. And he was replaced with a lady who never interacted with people's posts and stopped making fun joke posts.

Well i got death threats from the Evanuris (my term for the other mega popular blogs in [Previous Fandom] because they all had shitty, over-egotistical personalities) about how I BETTER NOT tell the Fandom that he was fired bc it would cause mass chaos. So I kept my mouth shut about it, until the day I left to start this blog. Where I gave my goodbye & good riddance post, and then mic dropped with a "Oh and btw, the rumors are true. That guy was fired. Goodbye."

I’d say the date went pretty well! It was nice being away from Welton for a bit with Todd. The cold weather made his face look a little flushed and rosy—it was adorable.

Since it was our first date, we’re still figuring things out. I don’t really know if we can call our status dating yet…but so far, it’s like my world has gotten brighter. Little things can mean a lot when they’re given to you from someone you love.

Todd’s poeticism is one of the reasons I fell for him, actually. The way he crafts his poems makes it seem like he’s speaking another language entirely, and it leaves me in awe. I really need to step up my game if I plan on writing like him someday.

Being a thespian has definitely opened up my eyes to the world of romance in theatre. I still have a lot to learn, but I’m enjoying looking into the classics. Every now and then I like to dramatically read a quote to Todd. It’s usually something like this:

Summary: Sneaking out of a gala should be easy enough. Well it is when you can use your powers.

AN: This took way too long to write. I’ll probably edit any mistakes later, just wanted to finally post this.

And always, this is crack treated seriously. This is just for fun and shits and giggles. Excuse any ooc moments and all of that.

Also never been to a gala or fancy party before so I didn’t think any of this is accurate but it fits with the crack treated seriously part of the fic.

Jason laughed a bit at Danny’s insistence of it being a joke. “Relax, just messing with you.” This guy had peaked his interest before he even knew he was Masters’ godson. Maybe is was a good thing he came to the gala after all.

“So tell me why the godson of Vlad Masters is living down in Crime Alley.” He looked Danny up and down subtly, he really was more put together than the times he saw him out on patrol and doing laundry. He watched as Danny took a second before answering.

He shrugged, “It’s simple.” Jason took note of how his tone changed when it was just them talking, it was the same tone from the day they talked in the laundry room.

“He’s a fruit loop and I don’t like him.”

Jason held back a laugh. “A fruit loop?”

“Yes. A fruit loop. He’s not as bad as he used to be when I was younger but still.” Jason made a mental note of him saying “not as bad as he used to be”. That caught his attention. “But now I gotta know why one of Bruce Wayne’s sons lives in Crime Alley as well.” Danny teased slightly.

He should’ve expected that he would have to answer too. “Just a falling out with him and the rest of my family but we’re trying to reconnect I guess.” It was a small lie. Not the complete truth and not a complete lie.

“I get that. Had a similar thing with my parents. At least yours is trying.” It was obvious that the last part was more joking than actually anything serious.

This guy was interesting. Jason didn’t like Masters at all, both he and Bruce were suspicious of him but Danny didn’t seem to be anything like him. He was actually kinda funny, nice and personally, Jason thought he was a bit dorky.

Talking with Jason was better than avoiding Vlad or any of the other gala guests. Danny always forgot how boring these things got after a bit. At least it seemed that Jason was getting bored too. He would rather talk with him than continue to avoid Vlad.

He wasn’t too surprised that Jason also had family issues, it was kinda obvious with how he and Bruce were silently interacting when Vlad had called him over.

Even with him being interesting to talk to, Danny still wanted to leave the gala. He thought it would’ve been fun to mess with guests but Gothimites were used to weirdness, he could maybe at least explore but people kept trying to talk to him and now he was kinda stuck with Jason cause it was still kinda small talk.

“You wanna get out of here?” He asked without thinking. Did he mean to say it? No but if it got him out of the gala, meant as well try. Jason didn’t look like he wanted to be at the gala any longer either.

There was a minute of silence, it looked like he was weighing his options. “Eh, why not. Anything could be better than this.” Danny smiled, glad that he agreed. Now to figure out where to go but mainly how to sneak away.

It would be easy leaving the room but most entrances and exits outside still had press and paparazzi. He could easily just go invisible and intangible but didn’t trust Jason enough to do so.

Danny had snuck out of galas before but that was when it was just him and way more low profile types of galas. “Lead the way out? Like I said, never been to a gala here before.”

He got a small chuckle and an eye roll at that but it seemed like he was going to lead him out.

Danny wasn’t too bad of company. It was certainly better than just staying by Bruce and Jason jumped at the chance of knowing him better and hopefully figuring out why he had that strange sense of familiarity from before they had even talked.

He was glad to have been trained by the bat and that Dick told him about all the unseen exits. “Uh huh.” He said a bit sarcastically before grabbing his hand. “C’mon, follow me.”

He led him through the crowds of people, avoiding anyone who would ask questions. Occasionally he’d look and see Danny following closely behind. He looked like a lost dog trying to keep up. Jason thought it was a little funny.

Soon he dragged him out of where the gala was being held and into a dimly lit hall. Fuck, which way did Dick say to turn from here?

“Where to now?” Danny asked, his tone suggesting that he knew well that Jason hadn’t much of a clue at the moment. Sure enough when he looked at him, he had a small teasing grin. It was slightly annoying but he felt his heart skip a beat.

Fuck.

Jason quickly decided to just push that down and aside. No need to dwell on it even though he knew he would over analyze as soon as he got back to his apartment. Right now though, he just needed to remember which turn he was supposed to take in the hall.

Apparently he dwelled on it a little longer when he saw Danny was no longer behind him but now in front and turning right. “C’mon man. Let’s just go this way.” He heard him call out as he disappeared into the hall on the right.

He sighed and reluctantly followed. It wasn’t the most logical choice but it was the more entertaining one.

“Alright, I’m coming.” Jason followed where he went and caught up. “Just don’t get us lost.”

The only response he got from Danny was a shrug and crooked grin.

This should be fun.

hello? is this a comeback? i'm actually not sure, i've been in the mood to write and decided to try and get back in the groove with one of the old requests sitting in my inbox. this may be a little rusty, but here it is (a year or so late, sorry!) also, totally had to relearn tumblr formatting lol

this is kind of all over the place but i think it's decent for my first time writing in a year and a half!

the burnout wasn't sudden, so he had seen you at your peak

you had been a top performer at whatever you put your mind to. in your case, it had been your studies

both of you were going into similar fields, so he knew how tedious the work could be. even so, you managed to do it diligently and relatively painlessly

he had seen your love for learning firsthand. it was a common event to go out to lunch together and hear you ramble about whatever your professor lectured about that day

things didn't take a turn fast, but he was observant

he noticed your enthusiasm drop ever so slightly. the stars in your eyes dimmed over time and certain subjects turned into taboo topics around you

your usual "i wonder what we'll be learning today" turned into "professor's lesson will probably be useless again"

it seemed that you weren't even noticing it yourself with how subtle the change was. it happened over a few months and took you by surprise

all of a sudden, you were questioning everything about your life

"i should just drop out"

"what's the point anyway?"

these questions soon became a daily thing

soon enough, you stopped showing up to your daily lunches with him

chishiya likes to give off the impression that he couldn't care less. and for most people, that's the truth. but you aren't most people, and he genuinely cares about you

so of course he's concerned the first time you cancel on him.

he had shown up at the usual meeting spot and waited for you for at least ten minutes before he sent you a text. you were always punctual, so this was very out of the norm

your response was "sorry, had something come up. maybe next time?"

he decided to accept it, but before he knew it, next time never came

before either of you knew it, the things you loved to do soon became a chore

you came to dread school and stopped showing up at all. your motivation was in the gutter and the things that came easy in the past were now the hardest things ever

it felt like you were dragging yourself around. you were forgetful and the littlest things began to get under your skin

the worst part about it? you knew you could do better, you just couldn't bring yourself to perform the way you used to

chishiya knows you have potential. he had seen it himself. because you're important to him, he's willing to do what it takes to nurture that potential back into what it once was.

is chishiya the best at talking about feelings? definitely not. but he's clever and understands people at the deepest part of their core. he'll flip a tactic usually used for his own gain into something to help you out

he isn't very direct about what he's doing, he just kind of shows up one day and does it

he'll ask you about your classes and what you like and don't like. he brings it up as small talk but takes mental notes to bring up later

when you spout out something negative or cynical about your classes, he tries to guide you into a position where you'll have to reframe it into something positive

"god, i just can't stand this subject. i don't understand why they bring it up so often"

cue his tactful reply "if you know so much, won't it be easy for you to best anybody else there if the occasion arises?"

"yeah... i guess you're right."

he'll start walking you to class when he has the time to, that way you don't have an excuse to not go to school

chishiya prefers a hands-off approach. he cares about your feelings, but he would much rather observe from a distance and discreetly help you. he's not much for mushy-gushy stuff like a talk about your feelings

when he finally starts noticing your motivation spiking a bit, he couldn't be more relieved

if anybody were to ask him, he would verbally tell them that he was just grateful he wouldn't have to put up with you anymore (but we all know that isn't true :) deep down he only wants you to be the best person you can be)

overall...

chishiya loves you, truly. despite common belief among your peers, he doesn't want to see you fail and will do what he can to assist you given he doesn't have to talk to you about it face-to-face

niragi suguru

putting this as nicely as possible? niragi is dogshit when it comes to noticing stuff like this

unlike chishiya, if you want him to help you, you're going to have to be the one to tell him how you're doing

niragi is a very physical person, but lacks on the emotional side, so he can be a little intimidating if you want to talk about stuff like that

when you come up to him and break the news that you're starting to get burnt out, he really doesn't know how to respond at first

you had been doing fine, so what's with this all of a sudden?

he thinks your emotions are sudden and off-putting. he doesn't realize that they've been brewing for a while

maybe if he weren't a militant it would be different, but his priorities are all over the place

he enjoys running around the place with a gun, but he also enjoys his time with you. it's a little hard for him to balance both

when you finally sit him down and explain, he starts to get it

even if he finds it sudden, he's willing to listen. you're his partner after all, his self-proclaimed number one

you explained to him how tired you were from the games. how exhausted your mind was and how difficult it was to drag yourself out of your room on game days

considering you had been a high-ranking member due to how many cards you raked in during your stay at the beach, he was kind of thrown off

he didn't expect you to be struggling with the thing you were best at, but oh boy is he devoted to getting you back to where you were prior to your burnout

niragi will cut any corner and destroy anything in his way to achieve a goal. especially if that goal pertains to you

niragi is majorly possessive of you. if he knows you're unhappy, his brain immediately jumps to the thought that it will lead to you being unhappy with him. he doesn't like this thought, so he will fix it no matter what

he'll get you your favorite things. you want something specific for dinner? he'll go into the kitchen and threaten the cooks to make it. he notices somebody stressing you out or giving you a hard time? it's safe to say you won't be seeing them anytime soon

his way of dealing with your burnout is just trying to make you as happy as possible. he thinks that happiness will motivate you more, which will get you back in the groove

niragi understands very well how good you are at what you do, which is partly why he tries so hard

you had talent. one of the very few that did well at almost any type of game, not matter the suit

you shined brightest while doing your best, and damn does niragi love to see you shine

seeing you outplay everybody else gives him a thrill that can't be matched, which is the entire reason he got infatuated with you in the first place

overall...

while it may not be the healthiest mentality, niragi likes you the most when you're in top condition. it reminds him of why he fell for you and chose you out of anybody in the beach

when you're at your best and he's at his best, you could basically rule the world

because of these specific things, once he's aware of your burnout, he won't rest until you're feeling better

Favorable Conditions– Underfell Grillby x Water Spirit/Elemental S/O Oneshot

Warning(s)/General Tags: Description on how a Water Elemental/Spirit Eats, Strangers to Friends, Mutual Pining, I forget how I initially characterized this AU Grillby so sorry if it's inconsistent, maybe OOC Grillby but I like to think not

He was closing the bar per usual and taking the time to stretch. 'Fuck, my back hurts,' he thought, flames crackling brighter.

From safe kitchen doors, I peak my head out to investigate the noise. The purple-flamed monster turns his head disinterestedly to see the water spirit that's been staying with him aboveground.

And he smiles at me, making my form melt.

"Looking for more work?" He teases, giving a wicked smirk. I point to the kitchen to tell him what's wrong, which garners Grillby's attention. He, also quietly, approaches me and leans close to see what I'm pointing at. He's so close, it kind of distracts me. So close, I can feel him without hurting anyone...

And Grillby realizes the problem. I was not very compatible with his grill and hoped to clean it, but I don't have any gloves that would fit me for this task.

The gloves he usually wears while cleaning his grill wouldn't work either as I usually can't grip larger accessories—

Ugh, he just knew this day would be a pain in the ass.

"The grill isn't going to burn you and it shouldn't be hot anymore. You could probably still wash the grill if you wanted to," he muses, "with you being made of water. You know where I keep the dish soap, and the baking soda is..." He trails off. And blinks at me, owlishly.

"What?" He askes, rather confused by my face.

"...I can't exactly touch dish soap. Tasting it wouldn't hurt, but it would be a hard taste to be rid of, and it can get everywhere—" "You what." He just. Blinks again at me.

Now it's my turn to look at him with confusion.

"Don't you eat with your fire?" I ask. He chuckles at that. "No? And come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen you eat!" He thinks aloud. Then he rushes into the kitchen and grabs something out of the fridge, wincing at the coldness and moving it between his hands. He moves it to the countertop and places some chicken nuggets in a pan under a grill grate, closest to where the fire will be.

Then, there's fire.

I watch, quite dumbfounded at his excitement to make these chicken nuggets, that I leer closer at the flames and the way his body moves. It's enthustic, wanting to bubble with laughter, but that same care is always there. No matter what he makes, who he makes it for, the love of his craft and especially the love of who he might make it for is obviously there.

It can be easily seen that he's not just heating up chicken nuggets as a joke towards some stranger— he seems genuinely excited about our time after working hours. Even if he clearly wants to play it off as a joke to laugh at me.

No, Grillby was much more good-natured than he let on. His willingness to engage with me, despite the cultural oddity of verbal speaking or mixing things up with an elemental that could easily dust him...

Were I not the same elemental who hide in waterfalls and ponds, maybe I would have minded more.

And like that, his chicken nuggets are done. They are in the shape of monsters I don't recognize. Those human stores have them— 'dinosaur nuggets'? Maybe the King's Favorite Human orders them occassionally?

Grillby playfully hums a tune and unceremoniously dumps my snack on one of his personal plates.

He then clears his throat and keeps a straight face.

"So, before you show me how it's done, we have some things to discuss."

Then his face seems more strict, and I remember that this is Grillby.

"Like how you didn't tell me you needed gloves. Were you just avoiding the soap and dirty water this WHOLE time?" He asks, fire crackling much louder than what I'm used to.

Well, I'm going to be honest.

"Most people don't consider how water elementals can taste or eat. The workarounds are fairly convient and it's not too much fuss to quietly find them, anyways," I add, which softens Grillby's features. Actually, he seems... quite regretful. I wouldn't be surprised if he knew what I meant, being a fire elemental himself.

"And you took my offer anyways? You didn't have to do that." He sort of grumbles, absentmindly watching as I grab one of the chicken nuggets he made.

I look at it with a sort of bored gaze. "I wanted to. And for the record, I wouldn't have cared if you never noticed or asked. You're a great company to be around." I bite into chicken nugget, which sort of floats into my head before being magically dissolved into the water that makes up my body.

I catch Grillby staring into my eyes before conjuring an argument.

"But I'd help you anyways. If you were just desperate to leave that pond, I would have helped you find something else!" Grillby seems more frustrated. That's right.

I found Grillby with the rain was pouring outside this store. Being so new to the surface, we were both caught off guard when the rain could just. Appear anywhere? So he had no umbrella but the guy inside kind of pissed him off, so he wasn't going to buy an umbrella. He planned on waiting, until I gave him my umbrella.

I only ever carried one because Waterfall had them aplenty and the taste of cave ceiling condensate gets repetitive and repulsive with time. Lucky for Grillby, I kept it out of habit and saw the perfect opportunity to leave it with someone who would actually need it now.

Grillby (very reluctant and suspiciously) took the umbrella, checked it for holes or intentional slashes. Keeping an eye on me for any sudden or lethal movements.

When he determined that the umbrella was actually perfectly fine, he took the umbrella with more poise.

"Thanks," he muttered, and tested how well it kept off rain. Then walked with it, marveling at the shelter it provided, before he turned around. "If you don't plan on keeping it, I wouldn't mind having it," he (sort of) joked, which you calms waved off. "Keep it," you insisted. Then you walked off, continuing past the building for the one you actually came for.

Grillby could never forget how odd and kind the interaction was. This was the surface, huh?

Not a bad place to open shop, if a monster like YOU was here, too.

And when you ran into each other again, living at this new pond on the surface, you found yourself in a bit of situation.

Winter was approaching, which means you'd be trapped under the ice. And bear in mind, your pond was small and empty of fish. But if you left, you would probably have to go back underground and how would you work? What if another elemental took your pond?

Well, you were just going to have to figure something out.

On your way to work, you came by your bus stop. We'll, who would uave known? A familiar elemental showed his face, umbrella on hand in case of emergency.

Both of you talked, he joked, you laughed. It was a nice moment on a mundane day, between two unsuspecting elementals that crossed paths again. You told him your struggles for winter, he offered a job. You know, as thanks for valuing his time.

At first, you rejected. Didn't know the guy, who he really was, but he held the offer out in case you needed it.

You talked some more the following days. You got his number and met at all sorts of places. When you came to his bar, well... it was better than a pond. He laid his offer out.

That wasn't very long ago, but the time you've known him has certainly been something.

Back to your current situation, Grillby was more than sure he wanted to make out with you right here, right now. It didn't matter that the shop only just closed, or that you were both friends, or that he swore that it'd be a miracle if anything happened between you. His fear of water was there, yes, but there had to be some magic that allowed him to kiss you. To hold you. To craddle your face as you looked up to him with those watery eyes.

And it wasn't fair. It's not fair that he has to yearn like this when you were so close, so impossible close that he wanted to just lean in and risk it anyways. But even if he truly believed you felt just as strongly about him (which he doesn't), he would be at risk of hurting you, too. And he didn't pummel a few customers for making fun of you, because he didn't care.

Gods, if he could have one wish...

"I was in a bad spot, but I still choose to take your offer. So far, I still think you'll be one hell fo a roommate." You give him a little bit of a winning smile and he's reeling back to reality.

Right, of course. He nods.

"Just don't think you have to do everything yourself. We're roommates for a reason," he complains, which you blissfully tune out as you eat the rest of your nuggets.

'Roommates', you say? That's what you both agreed to. And as long as he's near you, maybe 'roommate' will be good enough for now.

Hi! So I'm still not feeling 100%, so asks will be put off a liiittle while longer (I'm really sorry, I just want to make sure my mind is in peak condition so I can remember all my worldbuilding and answer things correctly!) But I did want to pop back in to address some... recent issues.

No, I am not abandoning this blog. In fact, I want to make sure this blog is a safe space for people. Ship whatever the fuck you want as long as it's not like,, an actual serious problem, yknow! Since a bit of the fandom is kinda exploding right now, I want to remind everyone that this blog is safe for you.

Soda's apology was decent enough in my eyes, and I can only hope that she grows and learns from this to become a better person, and starts addressing the real issues within the fandom rather than the small non-problems that she only disagrees with

Swap Valentin into Panam's place

Swap Mitch into V/Player's place

Unlock the camera / have a true free-roam experience

and also remove all of the HUD and green filter

━ "the Modding High"

Camera unlocks, Player Replacer, FixSwaps, Bi River trick, Blur Remover, Facial expressions for V, Swap to Everyone... my peak as a modder still to this day ngl

I achieved all I ever wanted, did the mods I needed to be able to smooch Mitch and have my canon panzer scene 🧡 (cannot showcase it here on Tumblr for hornyjail reason)

The "bi river" trick was involving CyberCat, an old save editor software that allowed you to swap V presets! You had to launch the romance scene with River as a fem V, then save at the start of it using the "Save Anytime" mod, edit your save file by swapping in your Male V preset, and Voila~ you had a Masc V in the River scene :D

━ "Custom poses Fever"

...and the first true love kisses!

Searching and modding your first poses swaps, then spawning the blorbos in game, timing the expressions and animation correctly and... having them "kiss for real" for the first time 🥺😩 ouugghh IT HITS! It hits so good!

From there, the rest of 2021 was focused on playing around with custom poses and exploring my own canon; giving new canon-compliant appearances to Mitch and Valentin, doing VP comics... also exploring some AUs and doing special occasion outfits, like Halloween!

▶ 2022

━ "I can create my own story"

I focused a lot on my own canon in 2022, via comics and photoset exploring what happens to both Mitch and Valentin's respective past and shared future together

Modding was also a big part of the year! There wasn't any big breakthrough other than the scenerid extract for custom poses, which allowed me to finally use the amazing tender animations from the Judy scene in my boys tent 🤭

There will always be new exciting way of exploring and creating content for my babes- the knowledge of custom made poses allowing us for even more angst, tenderness, passion!

and I'm looking forward to it all 🥺🧡

Those years's been a whole creative journey~ and it's thanks to those two, my blorbos, my beloved stinkies, that I'm the modder and photographer that I am now!

The System has finally shown some mercy and has given me access to the internet at least! Hello, Tumblr!! This is an ask blog for any disciple (or non-disciple) to send whatever questions they feel like. I can even help you with your literature homework, since I am a teacher myself (o゜▽゜)o☆

I've noticed a distinct lack of ask blogs in this fandom (which is personally a crime) so I made this blog :) This blog is Shen Yuan!Shen Qingqiu, not Shen Jiu, in the effort to keep it pretty light-hearted and easy.

It is open to pretty much all (legal) ships!! Whether the ask is bingqiu, liushen, cumplane or jiuyuan, any is fine :)

The likeliness of there being any artistic response to asks is low - in order to be able to reply to as many asks as frequently as possible, most of the responses will be plain text, with perhaps a few memes!

Please do not take this blog as religiously in character or as anything too serious. Feel free to send jokey or serious asks! However, please do not send anything overtly explicit - I don't mind sex jokes, but I will not answer anything too inappropriate, for the sake of younger or asexual fans, who are uncomfortable with such things. Either way, this man is a teacher and must protect his poor, innocent students!!

What do you think about Arei/J switch theory?

I’m not entirely familiar, so apologies if I get some stuff wrong. But the basic gist is that Arei and J disguised themselves as each other at some point, mostly so J could avoid Arturo, and so the real victim of this case is J, right? Well… frankly, while I think it's a fascinating and really enjoyable theory, I don’t believe it.

Let’s start with the base assumptions we have to make for this to work. They don’t necessarily disprove anything outright, but they’re still pretty big assumptions.

•Arei and J’s relationship underwent some major changes, for now off-screen.

•This relationship is so strong now, that Arei practically gives up on her friendship with Eden and her whole “I’ll be nicer to everyone” promise, the line which this entire theory is based on, all for J.

•No one noticed the slight changes to eye color and facial structure.

•Double on the last one because Rose didn’t notice these changes. The girl who noticed a sixteenth of an inch difference in her height between going to Hope’s Peak and starting the killing game, presumably without even looking too closely (because why would she be looking at a mirror for any significant amount of time in her situation?), and has a photographic memory. It’s true she forgets things, but only things she didn’t see. She did see both J and Arei, so it seems odd her weird superpower became unreliable at exactly this time.

•Both Arei and J can make really good impressions of each other voice-wise, and without getting tired of it. It’s not easy to talk with a voice which isn’t yours for a long time, even if they’re not too dissimilar.

•Both of them are pretty good at keeping their personalities consistent. I didn’t notice any lines which seemed OOC for either of them at any point, so it’s odd. I know the line about Teruko stabbing someone 50 times has been brought up as something only Arei would say, but… I honestly don’t have any issues seeing J saying this, so. Different character readings, I guess.

•The wigs in the dress-up room have similar enough colors. The blue one, I feel, is too light for Arei (and I’m not even sure it’s long enough for her braid thing), and the black one may not be fully perfect under closer scrutiny. By the way, remember, this has to go through Rose.

•There is some way to create the green highlights in J’s hair. There isn’t a green wig, and I don’t believe we’ve ever heard of dye in any room, which is odd. Why not set this up?

•The wigs in the dress-up room were restocked before the BDA. This is because Teruko claims to take a look around the dress-up room and the relax room before the trial, and doesn’t find anything noteworthy.

•Arei has some pretty strong reason to not reveal herself post-BDA.

•MonoTV would allow Arei to stand in J’s spot at the class trial, and put up a death portrait of Arei even though she’s still alive. Keep in mind, MonoTV allows this even though I’m pretty sure most theories state the switch doesn’t have anything to do with the murder, so I have genuinely no idea how you convince that dog to allow this.

•If the victim received that note (which I know is up for debate, but for unrelated reasons), then Arei and J must have switched rooms. After all, the note’s sender wouldn’t have left it in J’s room. This implies they had a reason to do this, which I can’t quite envision. Add to that the assumption J went to the playground disguised as Arei instead of, like, telling the real one.

So, with all these assumptions and possibly more, there must be some pretty compelling evidence pointing to the theory to convince people, right? As per the Sagan Standard, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Well, listen. I’m pretty new to the DRDT fandom, and a lot of this theory has changed continuously over time, so I’m sure I’m missing some things. But as far as my scouring through Tumblr got me, I could only ever spot two pieces of physical evidence being brought up.

One is that “Arei’s” hair is longer in her BDA than it’s meant to be. This is true, and a detail which notates some nice observational skills. It’s a good start, but I feel it can’t be used as conclusive evidence, considering the very real possibility the creators just took some artistic liberty. And maybe her braid was done somewhat sloppily since she may have died only minutes after waking up? Let’s call that a counter argument and move on.

The second is that the switch explains “Arei’s” missing glove in the BDA. If you’ve been reading my back-and-forth with thebadjoe about this murder case, you know I would take practically any explanation for this fucking glove’s disappearance in stride…

Except, I don’t actually know how this explains that missing glove? Even the disguised J (which according to this theory is the one at lunch on the third day of the chapter) has the glove, so I frankly have no idea where it went under this theory.

No matter how much I scoured Tumblr, I couldn't find any other piece of physical evidence beyond some minor lines of dialogue I don't find very convincing. I only ever found narrative arguments. Essentially, arguing that the theory is likely because it's what should happen.

Listen. I dislike narrative arguments in principle. I've been in the FNAF theorizing fandom, and let me tell you, I've seen a lot of people go real nowhere, real fast, just because they tried to argue on narrative. Still, I'll address some of these arguments, though keep in mind narrative logic can only really be countered by narrative logic.

"J should be more important to the chapter because she's in the title screen"

I mean, not necessarily. And especially not with such a vague title screen, which contains a long haired shadow figure who fits neither Arei or J. If anything, you could argue it actually makes sense that J doesn't quite fit the murder, because of the secret title. Behind the "All That Glitters" title, you can read "A Good Person" (inverted in the Deadly Life version). J fits the "All That Glitters" title, as her life as a celebrity isn't as good as it seems ("Not all that glitters is gold"), but she has no direct connection to "A Good Person". So maybe "All That Glitters" is self-referential; just because it appears J will be one of the main characters of the arc, doesn't mean she's going to be important for the murder case.

Is that convoluted as hell? Yes, but so is arguing about this theory based on a title screen IMO, so.

"Killing Arei when she's just starting her redemption arc is wasteful"

Well, so would be killing J before we get anything but a hint of a backstory for her. If anything, one could argue it's the other way around; because Arei was going to die this chapter, she had to speedrun a backstory and the idea of an arc. I personally prefer all the characters in the fangan to be interesting and well-fleshed out, instead of just using some people's deaths as plot points for another's story, but I understand it's Danganronpa. You have to kill someone, you're never going to be able to finish all arcs. Arguably, one of the most tragic parts of this series is the amount of potential lost to the senseless killing; it's why Min's death hurts me so much, even though I think it was written fantastically.

So, yeah. I don't find this very compelling, since I think killing Arei would still be decently good writing in the Danganronpa context.

"[Anything regarding the theme of trust and distrust]"

I lump all these arguments together because, IMO, they all fall to the same problem. Because trust and distrust is the theme of the entire series, you can't possibly know where it's going on chapter 2. We know where we started, where we are, and the general place we're gonna end up on in the end. However, there's no way to know the trajectory the story is going to take on this.

The most common thing I hear is that this disguise idea will end up with Teruko needing to trust someone to solve the crime, to counterbalance the first chapter showing the dangers of excessive trust. However, it's perfectly possible the story's going the complete opposite way. Maybe the events of this chapter will end up with Teruko getting "confirmation" that she's right not to trust anyone, only for chapter 3 to slap her in the face hard for distrusting everyone. Essentially, instead of trust and distrust bouncing along the story, maybe we get one big arc where we start by dwelving into the depths of distrust, only to surface again later on.

Basically; let them cook.

Those are the main arguments I've seen. Of course it's possible I've missed stuff (and I don't feel like writing any more thousandths of words), but I hope I covered the most important points. And again, I don't think there's any more significant physical evidence, and I'm not going to be easily convinced by narrative evidence.

With all this in mind, I bring you back to all those assumptions I mentioned in the beginning. Occam's Razor states that the most likely explanation is the one which makes the least amount of assumptions. And frankly, I believe there are many other explanations which do not make even half of the assumptions this theory makes. In fact, the only assumption that the "J and Arei never disguised as each other" theory makes is that the hair in the BDA isn't important. At least, I think that's the only assumption. In this context, I find the "switch" theory extremely unlikely, although I did enjoy reading about it a lot!
